Statement by American Honda Motor Co., Inc., Regarding Brake Master Cylinder Seal Recall: Selected 2005 to 2007 Acura RL and 2005 to early 2007 Honda Odyssey Vehicles

American Honda Motor Co., Inc., today announced a voluntary safety recall of 471,820 model year 2005 to 2007 Acura RL and model year 2005 to early 2007 Honda Odyssey vehicles to replace a seal in the brake master cylinder.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today reminded owners of various makes and models of Ford vehicles previously recalled for faulty cruise control systems to make sure they take their vehicles into Ford dealers for repairs. If not repaired, the vehicles can catch fire, even if they are turned off, parked and unattended.

The Obama administration will propose the first-ever greenhouse gas emission limits for heavy trucks and buses next week.

The proposal will call for a 20 percent reduction in heat-trapping emissions from trucks’ tailpipes, according to Dan Becker, director of the Safe Climate Campaign….

Suspect Dies When Car Crashes Into DPS Cruiser

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A woman under arrest on suspicion of drunken driving was fatally burned Wednesday when a car slammed into the back of a parked Arizona highway patrol cruiser in which she was seated, igniting both vehicles and another cruiser in front, authorities said.

Lt. James Warriner, an Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman, said both DPS Ford Crown Victoria police interceptors were equipped with fire suppression systems that deployed, according to a preliminary investigation.
