The Center for Auto Safety is asking top officials at the Chrysler Group and its parent company, Fiat, to recall about five million vehicles. The nonprofit consumer advocacy group said, “Children are dying in Jeeps in rear-impact fires.”
In a letter to John Elkann on Wednesday, Fiat’s chairman, the center cited the deaths of three children since 2006 in fires that occurred when the Jeeps in which they were riding were struck from the rear.Read more

Jenelle Embrey shows no sign of letting up on her efforts to get the federal government to recall some Jeep Cherokees, and she is paying for a trio of billboards to prove it.
The billboards greet motorists on their way to Winchester’s Apple Blossom Festival with a graphic image of a Jeep Cherokee exploding into flames from its rear with skeletons seated inside. The message accompanying the image reads: “Help Save Innocent Families Change.org/DangerousJeeps.Read more
