2024 Honda Accord Hybrid

While driving on the highway multiple vehicle dash lights began flashing, including brake system, tire pressure, check engine; and the vehicle suddenly and completely lost the ability to accelerate. the car was clearly still on and in drive, but pressing the gas pedal had no effect. after turning off the car and restarting after a few minutes, the brake system alert persists. car was towed to dealer out of concern for safety. the attached picture is after the vehicle restarted.

2 days after buying my car it started to make a noise on the front left tire. dealer said that the front stabilizer links were not properly torqued and it was a manufacture mistake and sometime it happens. thecar did not make this noise when i purchased it . i got my car back and now the car when driving, leans towards the left and the manager said i don't know how to use lane keeping asistant and that the car is fine, but the car didn't do this when i pourchzased it. what can i do?

I was driving the vehicle with no other vehicles in front of me, yet the vehicle hard braked as if it sensed a collision was about to occur. this happened on 08/23/2024 around 10:05 am.

I was driving a busy 4 lane street when the brake warning light came on. car slowed down and i managed to turn off onto a side street. when i pushed the throttle there was no reaction. the car would not move. i shut it off and restarted then it would go. the brake system warning light was on. said: brake system brake system problem. brake performance may be reduced. see your dealer. i drove straight to dealer, and they checked the car and cleared the codes. could not find anything wrong. i was lucky to be able to get off busy street without incident.

I started smelling gas getting in and out and near the car. i checked under the car when i first started smelling it and for maybe a couple more days before it had an appointment for pdr repair at body shop. i wasn’t seeing gas. i had night dropped the car at the body shop and when they smelled it they called and asked if they could take it to honda of lincoln for me. they said it was a puncture, denied warranty coverage (not a defect) and sent info to me to send to honda corporate who they told me to call - they wanted $5,000 to pull the engine and drop the rear end to feed a new line in with the idea that honda might offer assistance. honda is trying to settle with me - i’m holding out though - part of the settlement would be i don’t get to keep the line - i keep thinking about how i was smelling it for some days before any was visible on the ground - as if it started very small and grew - even now (it’s been parked) if you put the line under pressure after you shut it off it will only leave about an 8 inch spot which is an incredibly small amount of gas. i made an appointment for next week at another shop- i want to keep it and get it looked at by some university professor who knows something about plastics and find out for sure if this is a defect or not -actually i should clarify that what i term a settlement they characterize as assistance in the form of them absorbing a portion of the repair costs, but they still say i can’t keep the line.

This is a hybrid vehicle with only 1100 miles on it. the engine start to stutter and violently shake when the gas engine turns on at low speed or idle. the car will have limited power during this time and the acceleration will be jerky. this is a safety concerns since this behavior can kick in randomly, because the car computer decides when the gas engine kicks in, which is unpredictable. i have done some research online with honda owners and this issue is fairly common for new (2024 and 2025) honda hybrid vehicles such as the crv or accord. almost all people reporting this issue have their cars less than 10k miles. online report seems to indicate that the problem is related to bad fuel injector. some reported that dealers unable or refuse to perform repair due to unavailable parts. i will have an inspection from a local honda dealer later this week. i currently do not have warning lights on at the moment. but other owners have mentioned check engine and/or check transmission warning lights as this issue progresses.

2024 honda accord hybrid ex-l. the moon roof exploded as i was driving about 40 miles per hour on a 107-degree afternoon. the moon roof was puffed out from the explosion. sounded like a shotgun going off. android auto inquired if there was a collision to report - due to the concussion from the explosion.

Brand new car. after approximately six months, the drive shaft started making very loud popping noises when turning the steering wheel at low speeds. this happens 100% of the time with even minimal steering wheel movement. honda is not sure if the drive shaft is rubbing against the frame of failing within the driveshaft. honda is not reporting any service guidance so each dealership is pulling apart the cars looking for solutions. this should be recalled.

There is a creaking noise coming from underneath the steering wheel when turning the wheel left or right. the sound is audible when driving at slow and moderate speeds when turning the wheel greater than ~90 degrees in either direction. the main concern is that the noise could indicate a more severe safety problem in the future. vehicle is currently being inspected by the dealer after recreating the problem at the service center. no additional warning messages are displayed on the car.

I am writing to let you know that 10/2/2024 my 2024 honda accord hybrid sport had sudden loss of drive-line power while i was traveling on the highway at 75mph. i was able to safely coast/navigate to the shoulder and stop. steering and braking systems were normal. the car would not drive or restart once stopped. a tow truck was called to tow my car to the nearest honda dealer to be fixed. there were no warning lights or sounds prior to this incident. dealer determined root cause of problem was pcm not communicating with charging system. the pcm was replaced under warranty and my car was ready for pickup 10/18/2024

When the steering wheel is turned it makes noise as if it is coming from suspension. abnormal noise when steering wheel is turned

I received a recall notice yesterday for my car, [xxx] . i called 3 dealerships in my area today and they all say they don't know when parts will be available. and how am i supposed to use my car now if they have no responsibility for what may happen. there is no date when i can check and replace the recalled part. i have called bill page honda 6715 arlington blvd, falls church, va 22042 and called a couple other dealerships no one knows when they will receive the parts and be able to check if there is a problem and replace the recalled part. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

I am filing a complaint regarding the lack of a remedy for the recall on my vehicle, 2024 honda accord hybrid (vin: [xxx] ). per the nhtsa website, “due to improper production of the high-pressure fuel pump in the vehicle…a fuel leak can occur when the high-pressure fuel pump is in operation”. the safety risk of this issue is that “if a fuel leak occurs in the presence of an ignition source, the risk of a fire, crash, or injury are increased”. on [xxx] i had a hyundai sonata sport that was in perfect condition and up to date on its maintenance that spontaneously combusted while being towed from nyc to nj. i lost thousands of dollars of items as well as the 1st car i purchased on my own. the incident was traumatic, and it is thought that the reason it occurred was an undiagnosed fuel leak in the vehicle. to now find out that the car that i leased right after this incident also has the potential to have the same outcome is very unsettling. i called my honda dealership and honda corporate regarding this issue on 10/29/2024 and was told i need to wait until december for a letter in the mail with instructions on how the issue will be remedied. honda was unwilling to give me a guarantee that my car is safe to drive and was unwilling to inspect my car unless i smelled gas in the car or saw gas under the car after it was running. this situation is extremely distressing and not reasonable. i trusted honda to provide me with a safe, reliable vehicle. i request that i am given a replacement vehicle of equal value without a recall on it, or an inspection of the vehicle looking to see if my car has a defective fuel pump. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

On 11/11/2024 while at an intersection with a redlight, i was the first car in the "merge to the right" short lane, stopped and waiting on right lane traffic on the road that intersected to clear. when it was safe to go, i moved my foot to the accelerator and nothing happened. i realized my vehicle had lost power / "died;" that all dashboard lights were out. i quickly put my vehicle gear in "park" position and restarted. it did restart but immediately a red warning light began flashing saying "brake system failure" and "take vehicle to dealer." i was terrified as i proceeded in the right lane of traffic since i had vehicles behind me as well as in front of me and i had to cross an intersection with traffic merging from an interstate highway. there was not a safe place to go; all businesses along this stretch had no entry except on their back side. i had to proceed across several major intersections before i could get to a safe place. meanwhile, warning lights continued and included more than brake system failure. one was showing a warning diagram about changing lanes of traffic which i had to do. obviously, brakes worked because i was able to stop when needed but i was afraid the brakes would not work which could have been deadly for myself and others. once i was stopped and in a safe place, i called honda roadside assistance and my car was towed to the nearest honda dealership. as of this writing (six days from incident), honda dealership is still investigating; they have not given me a cause or solution. they are providing me with a loaner car. there is no recall on 2024 honda hybrid touring although there are multiple posts online with people saying they had same thing happen with this model vehicle.

Vehicle pulls to the left when driving normally. over time louder and louder popping sounds are heard when turning the wheel. vehicle ping pongs the lane when using lane keep assist.

The honda dealers do not have the parts to repair the fuel pump recall...and they have no idea when or if they will receive the parts...very frustrating since this was a brand new car purchase

I was driving at about 40 mph and the car lost all power and stopped in the middle of the road. most all of the warning lights were on like low air pressure, reduced brakes and a brake problem light etc. turned the car off and restarted and drove another 5 miles with the brake problem light still on. stopped and restarted car and the brake light went off and all seems normal now. from my reading on honda accord forums it might be a bad icm unit? will be contacting a honda dealer soon.

If part is not replaced how am i ensured of my safety?

Re: two honda fuel pump recalls in 10 months in 60 years of driving, i never had a recall on a car until february 2024. in the past 10 months, i have had 2 hondas recalled for life-threatening fuel pump issues. 1) in 2019, i purchased my first honda, a civic. 2) in february, 2024, i received a recall on the 2019 honda civic for an improperly constructed fuel pump. i was told the car could just stop - and cause an accident in highway driving. i was also told the replacement part for the fuel pump would not be available until the fall of 2024, at least 6 months later. i did not feel safe driving that car so i traded it into lia honda in northampton, ma for a new 2024 honda accord hybrid. 3) on december 16, 2024, i received a recall on the fuel pump for the new honda accord which stated that “due to improper production, the high-pressure fuel pump may crack and leak fuel” which “in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire, crash or injury.” from the recall notice“the replacement parts needed to repair your vehicle currently are not available…” once again, i owned a honda that would be life-threatening to drive. because of honda’s improper fuel pump production, i had to buy my second new car in 10 months. i have a new car - not a honda. what kind of quality control does honda have??

My car that i just recently purchased, has an active recall on the fuel pump and it has now been more than 60 days with no remedy. my car is leaking and i fear everytime i drive that it may catch on fire if the fuel leak occurs in the presence of an ignition source.

Steering wheel feels like it gets stuck on dead center when driving on a perfectly straight level road over 40 mph. when trying to compensate to keep the car in the center of the lane, it feels like you need to apply extra resistance to get the steering wheel to move and then when it moves it feels like it breaks loose causing the wheel to move more than intended resulting in the car moving to far to whichever direction you were trying to move, and then having to turn the wheel in the opposite direction to compensate for the excessive move in that direction. steering wheel seems perfectly fine until put on dead center for about 10 seconds or longer going perfectly straight. then it tightens up again and feels the same way when trying to keep the car in the center of the lane. extra resistance is once again needed, and produces the same result of seeming to stick, then breaking free and over steering the car.

Complaint regarding unresolved recall #24v-763 and persistent defects – 2024 honda accord hybrid dear nhtsa i am filing a formal complaint regarding an unresolved recall (#24v-763) and persistent defects with my 2024 honda accord hybrid ex-l. since purchasing this vehicle in december 2023, it has exhibited numerous defects and abnormal behavior recall pertains to a defect in the high-pressure fuel pump, which increases the risk of fuel leaks and potential fire. honda has confirmed that repair parts will not be available for an extended period. the following warning messages appeared within the first few weeks of ownership in january 16/2024: power steering problem: road departure mitigation problem: collision mitigation braking system problem: adaptive cruise control problem:lane keeping assist problem: while these specific issues have been resolved, the experience revealed a pattern of negligence and inadequate support from the dealership, undermining my confidence in their ability to address future problems effectively. the combination of unresolved recall #24v-763, persistent defects, and lack of dealership support has left me with a vehicle that is unsafe and unreliable. since its purchase, several parts have already been replaced, further demonstrating a pattern of defects and unreliability. i have completely lost confidence in this car’s quality, safety, and functionality. these issues demonstrate that the car has not met reasonable standards of quality and functionality since its purchase. i respectfully request that nhtsa investigate the following: honda’s inability to provide a timely remedy for recall and the safety risks associated with the delay. the repeated refusal of the authorized dealership to adequately address reported defects and provide appropriate service. my eligibility for a replacement vehicle under federal safety and consumer protection laws, given the vehicle’s history of unresolved issues and significant safety risks. case #15201943

The steering rack has a defect. it has been replaced and the same problem is still ongoing. the gearbox has also been replaced but the problem is ongoing. the car makes loud noise when driving, turning the steering wheel, braking. i do not feel safe driving this car. i have had it for 1 year and it’s already been in service over 20 times. i’ve been having issues with this, 2 weeks after i purchased the vehicle. the lane assist is supposed to keep the steering wheel straight, and it does not, tue car merges to the right.

While driving slow in a parking lot or parked any wheel movement causes a loud popping or clicking. dealership diagnosed it as needing a new steering rack on a vehicle with 6000 miles. they should be added to the recall of the civic integra and crv‘s as apparently it has the same manufacturer or same problem in the steering rack. i feel very unsafe with my wife in this car, knowing the steering rack (pretty important) could fail at any time.

I was driving on a highway when the engine light came on and the car immediately started slowing down even though i was pressing the gas pedal. it flashed there was a failure of the brake system, collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, hill start assist system, and adaptive cruise control system. the check battery light also came on. the car decelerated on its own with brakes engaged. i had to choice but to immediately pull over and luckily was able to steer to an off ramp and into a parking lot.

Turning the wheel causes a popping and crackle type of noise. the sound is continuing to worsen and i can hear it from inside and outside of the car. local honda dealer told us there isn’t a replacement part as of now and this is a factory defect that hasn’t been recalled at the present time. i feel it could be a safety issue related to the ability to steer and control the car when it sticks or pulls

Brake system, abs, and tire pressure warnings come on weekly. the honda service can’t find anything wrong with the vehicle so they are resetting the lights. there are no codes listed. software issue? mechanical issue? nobody knows, even the car doesn’t know.

I had an accident on i-85 i was rear ended after traffic slammed on breaks and the car behind had been riding my bumper for miles. he went through my trunk and almost came into my backseat. i was also pushed into the car infront of me which his directly on the drivers side of my car. my front end is completely pushed on the drivers side into to where you can see the metal frame. on the rear, the bumper and metal frame completely came off. i was hit directly on impact sensors on both ends and none of my airbags went off. and my seatbelt did not lock up. we were still going about 60-70mph when he hit me. the car is a total loss.

While driving on the highway, the skid plate of my vehicle suddenly detached and crumpled underneath the car, creating a loud scraping noise as it dragged along the road. all maintenance and service for the vehicle have been performed at honda of cleveland heights. i am concerned that this incident may be the result of a design failure or an oversight during recent maintenance.

Vehicle shakes roughly and vibrations on this 2024 honda accord hybrid when transitioning from electric to gas motor at idle. this occurs sporadically but generally when idling in traffic or a drive thru etc. the electric motor is working in this idle stage, but when the heater or ac is on and you are idling for a period of time, it will kick on the gas motor causing shaking of the vehicle. this occurs mainly when the gas motor is kicking on from idle and sometimes when it shuts itself back off again. this problem was reported to selling dealer smail honda at a service appointment on 6/9/25. tech did not find the problem and left these notes: "scanned computer for faults and none present. vehicle operating as designed." in my opinion, the vehicle is not operating as designed and this could be a possible safety issue so i'm filing this incident with nhtsa.

A repeated clicking or popping noise is coming from the electric steering rack when turning the steering wheel left or right, especially at low speeds or when stationary. the issue started with a faint sound and has progressively worsened. it now occurs in both directions and is clearly audible during tight maneuvers or while parking. this may indicate internal looseness or failure in the steering gear assembly, which raises safety concerns as it could affect steering precision or lead to unexpected resistance. several other owners of the same vehicle model have reported the exact same issue, which suggests this may be a design or manufacturing defect. there were no warning lights or dashboard messages before or during the issue. the condition occurs consistently and may continue to worsen.

I applied the brakes and pulled up to a light and as soon as my car came to a complete stop all of the lights just started going off. the light turned green and i couldn’t accelerate anymore and almost got rear ended. i tried turning the car off but it didn’t turn off. instead, it just made a clicking sound and i was able to accelerate and pull into a parking lot and i was able to turn it off and i turned it back on and it the brake system light stayed on. i drove to work and when i got to work i turned it off and turned it back on and the car is fine.

I had a flat tire while driving on 7/8/25 and the tpms error did not show up in the car screen. i informed the dealer hoen honda motors of carlsbad, ca, and he mentioned that tpms will not work for flat tire.

On april 4, 2024, the office of defects investigations (odi) opened rq24006 to investigate american honda motor co.’s (honda’s) proposed remedy for recall 23v-782 as well as scope of the vehicles involved. honda issued recall 23v-782 on november 21, 2023, which concerns certain model year (my) 2023-2024 honda accord, honda accord hybrid, and honda hr-v vehicles. recall 23v-782 states that the driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioner assemblies may have been manufactured without a rivet that secures the pretensioner quick connector and wire plate. recall documentation states that seat belt pretensioner assemblies that are missing the rivet will not properly restrain the occupant in the event of a collision, increasing the risk of injury.subject defective seat belt assemblies are installed as original equipment for both the driver and front passenger positions for the hr-v, but only for the driver position for the accord and accord hybrid. the recall remedy for 23v-782 instructs the technician to inspect both front seat belt pretensioner assemblies and, if necessary, replace them. the inspection procedure requires the technician to utilize a pull force gauge to determine whether the subject component is missing the subject rivet and requires replacement. parts requiring replacement are determined by whether the pretensioner quick connector separates from the pretensioner assembly while the technician is pulling on the seat belt. if no separation occurs, then the part is determined to be not defective and not require replacement. there have been no reports alleging a failure of seat belt pretensioner assemblies after the inspect and replace remedy for recall 23v-782 was performed. additionally, no comparable failures have been observed in field data for similar vehicles outside of the scope of the recall. as of the 4th quarter of 2024, the recall completion rate is at approximately 84% of the total recalled population. in view of the lack of failures after the remedy for recall 23v-782 was performed, and the lack of failures in similar vehicles outside of the scope of the recall, odi is closing this recall query (rq). the agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances.
