8 warnings/problems all at once: adaptive cruise control brake hold system vehicle stability assist power steering system hill start assist collision mitigation system road departure mitigation system brake system

While driving approximately 50 mph, vehicle sunroof glass spontaneously exploded spraying shards of glass in the vehicle. the vehicle was not driven under any bridges, and there were no vehicles within a reasonable distance ahead or behind my vehicle that could have thrown something at the sunroof causing it to break. my safety was put at risk as sharp pieces of glass were sprayed on me, into my clothing, and into the empty child safety seats in the middle row. upon inspection, the honda service department denies that this break happened spontaneously and the dealer states that they were able to identify a point of impact on the sunroof as to what caused the glass to break. a photo of said impact has been requested from the service department, but as of this writing has not yet been received. there were not any previous known damages to the sunroof, and there were no warning signs prior to the glass shattering.

Engine shut off in traffic after auto idle-stop failed to restart. while stopped at a red light with auto idle-stop active, the engine shut down normally. when i released the brake to proceed, all electrical power dropped—cluster went dark, accessories reset, and the engine did not crank. vehicle coasted dead across the intersection and required a full key-cycle to restart, exposing my family and surrounding traffic to a collision risk. component that malfunctioned dealer diagnostic later the same day showed the 12-v battery-current sensor reporting an internal resistance spike from 3 mΩ (normal) to 25 mΩ (fault), which commands the powertrain ecu to inhibit idle-stop restart (“idle-stop inhibit – large battery internal r” flag). an agm load test confirmed the battery itself is healthy (958 cca). reproducibility / confirmation the stall occurred twice on public roads. at the dealer, the fault could be reproduced in the data list: resistance value jumps whenever the negative-terminal sensor is jostled. inspection status vehicle was inspected by the franchised honda dealer; screenshots of the diagnostic session and the midtronics load-test slip are available on request. manufacturer has not yet repaired the sensor; dealer demanded an unnecessary battery purchase first. warning indicators no mil or warning lamps illuminated before the stall. after the first stall, a brief “auto idle-stop system problem” message flashed but cleared on restart. risk loss of propulsion and power steering in the middle of an active intersection without warning. if this sensor defect is common, any similar 2022-24 honda minivan/suv with auto idle-stop could stall in traffic. component is still installed and available for inspection. filed report with ftc (report #188697846).

The contact owns a 2023 honda odyssey. the contact stated while his wife was driving 20 mph, attempting to make left turn, she noticed the passenger side rear view mirror was shattered. the contact mention some of the glass did get into the vehicle. no injuries were sustained. a dealer was contacted. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, and they informed the contact there was no recall for the passenger side rear view mirror. the vehicle was not repaired for the mirror, however the vehicle is currently being serviced for oil change and tire rotation, and brake fluid flush. the contact was relating the failure to an article that he read online regarding this failure for the years 2020-2022. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case number. the failure mileage was 33,000.

This is regarding the collision mitigation braking system (cmbs) i will be driving on side streets around town (driving kids to school and daycare) and there will be no vehicle/obstacle near me/ in front of me and my van will flash on the dashboard "brake" and then it slams on the brake. this has happened at least 5-6 times as of todays date 5/20/25. there is no warning or reason for the car to brake like this. i have brought this to the honda dealer two times now once i realized how serious this was. i was informed that since it isn't throwing a code there is nothing they can do. this is a serious safety risk not only to myself but to my children- this is a van so most people who drive this have small children. the last two incidents i was inches from being rear ended with my children in the car. the time before that i had my family from out of town in my car, that could have been eight people seriously injured or killed for no reason.

My 2023 odyssey has 40k miles and the cam shaft bearing is deteriorating and my engine oil is full of shavings. the dealership is acting as if because i did not get my oil changed there, that it somehow isnt their fault and not covered under the warranty. this is an existing recall of these engines and nhtsa is investigating other years etc. here is a video from the tech [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

The rear lift gate malfunctioned, causing my rear lift gate to get scratch from top to bottom because the lift gate would not stop. i have never had issues with manually stopping the lift gate. i pushed the button and let it come up and then used force to stop it and it would not stop. i do crossfit 5 days a week and find myself to be strong suit, i physically could not stop this lift gate. it broke two of my nails in the process because i was doing everything i could to stop the lift gate. instead of stopping it kept going scratching up against our basketball hoop because it malfunctioned. what if this was my arm or my leg stuck in between versus an item? what if this was someone's head, including my children's head? it would have decapitated them. the amount of force of this lift gate was insane, there was absolutely no stopping it. i have an issue with this, not safe at all. you should be able to easily stop this back lift gate without that much physical force. our honda odyssey lift gate malfunctioned and would not stop

Not sure about what component could have triggered but i started seeing smoke and fire from the front hood. i managed to stop and exit the call to call emergency services. the fire aggravated that the whole car was burned. the dealer was notified as well as the honda but yet to hear back. the claim is also filed with insurance company that they indicated to be getting custody of the vehicle to inspect.

Yesterday we were in our minvan (i had not entered yet and was standing outside the fornt passenger door but wife, children, and dog were inside. my daughter mashed the button to close the power sliding door on the right side of the van but did not notice that the dogs tail was wagging near the door entrance. all of a sudden i heard loud screaming and i opened the door on the right side. she was bleeding and in tears and said that the power door had closed on our dog's tail. i am a physician so i provided first aid. my concern is that when we bought the van we aksed about the power doors because we were concerned about them possibly closing on someone or something since they can be closed by multiple passengers. the salesmen assured us that the doors would not close on anything or anyone and would reverse if they met any resistance. well the door completely closed all the way in this case despite the dogs tail sticking out of it.

Since purchase the blind spot warning won't operate or goes off on its own. no audible warning when it is chosen. purchased vehicle on a friday, and returned saturday and monday. both techs replicated the problem but no idea of a fix yet.

Driving down the highway with cruise control and lane keep on, the vehicle engaged the breaks for now apparent reason. i immediately disengaged cruise control and applied the accelerator. so far has only happened one time.

Our ais has not worked in most of the 3 weeks since we purchased it. we went on (joined) various odyssey forums and apparently this is a known defect that honda corporation is denying (and can't fix). som think it is a wrong battery in the vehicle issue or defective vehicle charger issue. others have found a temporary workaround by opening the hood to reset it. honda is ripping off customers for an ais system that is defective. a class action is in order.

My hand got burned getting a kids toy under the van. the muffler is unusually low and needs a vented shield to protect people from burns and cuts and to protect the muffler from debris and impacts from speed bumps, etc. this is dangerous for people, kids, and the engine.

I always do a full undercarriage inspection of new vehicles we purchase, even though i am in my 60's. when inspecting this new odyssey there was unusual amounts of rusting throughout both front wheel hubs. this also was a problem on our 2014 honda cr-v we also purchased new. they require a coating on them for brake and steering systems safety. when this rust spreads to brake and steering mechanisms mounted to these hubs....big issues.

When the car is on adaptive cruise control, going downhill it won't correctly control the speed and keeps on accelerating, austin hill country at one point i managed to gain up to 20 miles above the set cruise speed limit. i have reported this to the first texas honda service department, took a test drive with their technician, and reproduced the issue, in a small test managed to increase 10 miles above the set cruise limit. honday service advisor later contacted me and told me that they had tested several other same-model cars, and all of them have the same behavior therefore there is no recall any error for them to fix, just use the break to reduce the speed that actually disable the cruise control

I left my home to go to the house of prayer for prayers and when i came to the stop sign to turn right, my vehicle didn't stop and continued forward which led to crossing the street and over the curb and through the grass of almost fifty feet into the lake. i almost drowned and called 911 to assist me out of the vehicle which was in the lake almost four feet in the water. i am not sure what happened, and i want to report so that if there is any manufacture fault that needs to be addressed to manufacturer then i need to report this incident. the vehicle is at geico salvage, and i have reported to geico insurance that the texas department of transportation might want to investigate, so they will be holding the vehicle there. if you need to contact me my phone number is[ xxx] and my name is [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The problems occurred to a brand new 2023 odyssey only few days (roughly 8 days) after purchase. i was driving the vehicle on road in my community, i came to a stop sign and stopped, then i was about to turn right but found it was kind of difficult to turn, at same time i heard the sound of crack coming from underneath the steering wheel. i felt that i almost lost control of the vehicle if i did stop at stop sign, anyway i was able to turn the vehicle as the speed was low and continued to drive slowly. shortly, several warning icons lighted up on dashboard, including "auto engine idle stop system problem", "lane keeping assist problem", "adaptive cruise control problem", "charging system problem". after that, i drove the vehicle to dealer as soon as i can and dropped the vehicle for diagnosis and repair. it has been 6 days since the vehicle was dropped at dealer and has not been repaired, i got email from service manager saying that the gauge control module was fault.

Driving with nothing in lane in front of vehicle brakes are applied. this has occurred several times.

While driving the collision system has activated when no apparent hazard is present.

On the display next to the speedometer, reading the vehicle lists, the speed limit for the road you were currently driving on. the speed limit listed by the car is often wrong. when it states the speed limit is 100 mph it is obvious to the driver that it is incorrect. however, when it states the speed limit is 65 mph, but the speed limit is actually 45 mph. this causes an issue because it’s very possible that the speed limit could be 65 miles an hour. i have called honda about the issue at the corporate level and they have stated they are not aware of any problems and i have called our local dealership who claims they are very aware of these problems and that honda does not have any way to fix this. i am concerned for my self, as well as my children, who are not very experienced drivers and are likely to trust the speed limit stated on the display of our brand new odyssey van. this is very dangerous especially when the error that the display makes is almost always listing a much faster speed limit than the actual speed limit is. this has been happening since we purchased the car six weeks ago. i have attached several examples of where the speed limit. the car lists is obviously wrong. if i post any where it states a plausible speed limit, it would be hard to make the same point but those are the ones i’m most concerned about.

We purchased a brand new honda odyssey and when driving my 7 year old son began playing with the seatbelt. the seatbelt became wrapped around his neck and went into locked position so it couldn’t be loosened. i thankfully was near a restaurant so was able to get scissors from them and had to cut the seatbelt off my sons neck to free him! it was terrifying that i couldn’t release the belt from his neck and i’m lucky i was able to get scissors to free him! the seatbelt should not automatically lock if retracted all the way! there should be a release button! i went to the dealership to get the seatbelt replaced and they are charging over a thousand dollars! like i said, brand new van and i had no other option but to save my son from strangulation by cutting the seatbelt free!!!

The automatic emergency braking system will apply the brakes and try to slow or stop the car when there is nothing in front of the vehicle. this could cause a car following to hit my vehicle because they would not expect my vehicle to suddenly slow or stop. the service center at my honda dealership was told of the issue and said this was normal. they did not think the system needed to be looked at. the vehicle does not have any warning lights or messages. when the brake is applied my the vehicle the dash indicates that the brake has been applied.

Less than year and about 9800 miles rotors and breaks pads got bad, needs to be changed normal driving new van shouldn't have rotors and brakes pads issue, seems to me really bad material used for rotors.

While accelerating, well after a car far infront of me turned, the forward collision warning went off and automatically applied full breaks while i was accelerating slamming my legs into the dash. my kid has marks from his car seat. this is 3rd and most sever instance of this almost causing a severe crash behind me. while i hate the automatic idle stop function and want it gone, it hasn’t worked in 4 week and randomly started doing it today and now stopped again. the ac in the seets also stopped working when temps hit 110 in phoenix.

My child was inside the minivan in the 2nd row and pressed the close door button on the sliding door while holding their other hand on the door jamb near the handle on the interior frame. the door slid closed and smashed their hand hard, automatically latching the door with their hand crushed inside the door. this is possible because their is a pinch sensor, but it is only on the outside edge of the door. so anything in between the door and the frame on the interior edge can be crushed hard without any sensor to detect and prevent it. i tested this with a flip flop and confirmed that it could be placed inside almost the entire width of the door and the door would still close with unrelenting full force. this does not seem to be a manufacturing defect, but instead seems to be a significant safety design defect and puts children or adults inside the vehicle at risk for injury including broken fingers.

Honda corporation is not compensating dealers fairly for this significant recall on honda odysseys. this recall involves disassembling much of the interior to replace these defective communication cables. to do it correctly and reassemble the vehicle correctly the work could take 8 hours or more. because honda of america is compensating dealers for much less than the correct work time, to do the work, honda owners are having issues with their repairs. honda's unfair compensation to dealers is causing other mechanical issues on honda odyssey vehicles. on another note honda odyssey vans have some defective blind spot sensors. when we merge onto the interstate (if we do forget to use our turn signal..... it does happen at times) the van goes (on its own) into emergency braking mode (when you are accelerating to highway speeds), causing us to almost cause several interstate accidents..... because of this safety feature. these vans are very unsafe.

Forward collision warning in conjunction with emergency braking have major safety issues that need to be addressed. 1st occurance: driving through a construction zone through cones for lane realignment, van suddenly applied brakes in heavy traffic despite no obstacles in vans path. vehicle quickly recovered. 2nd occurance: driving on a dark street, van heavily applied brakes despite no obstacles. the braking occurred rapidly and van nearly came to a stop. attempted to press harder on gas to override system with zero results. had i been on a busier street, it would have resulted in a vehicle crash. this is a major safety issues that needs to be addressed by honda with a recall.

Vehicle makes noise at low speed when turning at inclined or passing over speed bump. i went 4 different dealers regarding this problem but they can not figure out the problem. first, dealership said nothing wrong with vehicle. then i took van to different dealer and they replaced front driver side strut. after few days started hearing noise again. so i took van to different dealership and they retorque sub frame bolt and said problem is fixed. again, i heard the noise next day so i took it dealership again. after looking at vehicle, they concluded that bushing is making noise but they refused to replace it. i have looked at honda odyssey forum and redditt, it is known problem with honda odyssey and they are unable to fix the problem.

Twice while at a stop light, when the car was in auto idle stop, it suddenly shut down completely. there was no power on the dashboard. i couldn't even turn on the hazard lights. the first time, this lasted several minutes, the second time, a few seconds. after this time, the electronics spontaneously came back up and i was able to restart the engine.

The vehicle makes a whistling sound form the front of the vehicle, while on a road trip the windshield got foggy and the defroster was not able to clear the windshield due to what i believe is an air leak from the windshield, that’s also causing the whistling.

Mid november 2023, at 9 am, between livermore and pleasanton, california, usa, while driving my wife's 7000 miles honda odyssey sport 2023 sunroof glass imploded. an extremely loud bang noise followed by a rain of micro crystals over my head, driver, passenger and back places. my right ear was numbed and when i could manage to stop, i got pinched by the micro crystals everywhere, while my sunroof pieces of glass kept falling over me. immediately i filed a claim with nhtsa (which didn't received any email or case # after a long call explaining what happened); also visited the dealership who sent me home and had been giving me excuses during 3 months already. supposedly the replacement part is not available and not covered by warranty. this is unacceptable for an international brand like honda. i've owned honda cars for years and my family too, never thought this could happen to me while driven our best honda at home. a sunroof should be laminated not tempered-only, and honda should address their sunroofs defects asap. this is such a risky situation and i know this had happened before to many persons driving hondas and acuras. please do something about it now before somebody dies!

I wish to express my deep concern regarding the ongoing safety issues with the car i purchased in december 2022. since april of the following year, i have repeatedly experienced heightened noise and vibration originating from the rear wheels. despite numerous visits to the honda 385 dealership and their assurance that they have documented and forwarded the concerns to honda representatives for review, resolution has remained elusive. regrettably, after an extended period of waiting, i was informed on february 26th, 2024, that the issue has been declined. this decision is profoundly troubling, particularly considering the potential safety implications. it is evident that a new car exhibiting such significant damage to the wheels, accompanied by pronounced noise and vibration, poses a serious safety hazard, especially during highway driving conditions. the persistent nature of these issues underscores the urgency of addressing them promptly and comprehensively. as a conscientious consumer, i cannot in good faith continue to operate a vehicle that may compromise the safety of myself, passengers, and other road users. i implore honda and the dealership to prioritize the resolution of this matter with the utmost urgency, ensuring that the vehicle is restored to a safe and reliable condition. furthermore, i urge for a thorough reevaluation of the safety concerns raised, recognizing the paramount importance of ensuring the integrity and reliability of the vehicles entrusted to consumers. it is my sincere hope that swift action will be taken to rectify these safety issues and restore confidence in the vehicle's performance and reliability.

Over the summer when our honda odyssey was only a couple months old (we had bought it brand new) my 7 year old son ended up with the seatbelt in the back passenger seat wrapped around his neck! he was playing with the seatbelt and somehow got it around his neck. i was driving and his siblings told me what was happening. i of course quickly pulled over into a parking lot and i couldn’t believe how tight it was wrapped around his neck in such a short period of time! as i was trying to loosen it it just kept getting tighter and tighter. my daughter ran into a taco bell and asked them for scissors and the workers couldn’t believe the situation we were in said there’s no time to even call 911 they had to cut him lose. so we had to cut the seatbelt with scissors to save his life as it was super tight on his neck. it was an awful experience i never could have imagined happening. i see that this seatbelt locking system is placed on new cars and i think it’s so dangerous. i now have no seatbelt on the back seat of my car as it had to be cut off and the dealership said it’s thousands to be replaced. all they said was i’m sorry that happened to you. i think it’s awful cars are made this way. my son could have died.

I was driving on the freeway at approx 65mph with no cars around me when the orange light that said brake came on and the car slowed down on its own. could not override problem for a few seconds.

The car appears to power up on its own even after it has been shut off. i have noticed that the car was on even after i turned it off, so i have been even more diligent about making sure it was turned off. one day i turned off the car. about an hour later, i heard the speakers in my car blaring. when i was finally able to reach the car the sound was off and the car was black. i didn't even get a chance to open the door and turn it off. it just shut down on its own. yesterday, when i went to start my car, there was a message that the battery was low. as if the car had been on for a while. but when i got in the car it wasn't on. this appears to be a known problem from other odyssey owners. specifically i am seeing issue with 2018 models. however mine is a 2023 model.

I was pulling into a parking spot with my foot on the brake. my 2023 odyssey van accelerated instead of braking. there is also supposed to be an auto car warning & braking if you are about to hit a car in front of you. none of this happened! in fact, it crashed into the car in front of me. as soon as it started to accelerate, i released the brake and reapplied the brake as hard as i could. it still hit the car in front of me. it didn't look like there was any damage to their car, but i was very shaken up and now i am worried this will happen again. it happened today, april 18, 2024. my mother was in the car and was as shocked and stressed as i am as the van went from very slow to fast. my body is still shaking. i haven't had it inspected yet. i have an appointment on may 1, 2024, to go to odonnell honda. the woman receptionist in the service area said i may have had my foot on the gas. i did not because when i pull into a parking spot, i always have my foot on the brake and go in very slowly. as a brand-new van, i am very alarmed and very nervous it could happen again.

The present complaint alleges as follows: 1. honda has a defective design in the advanced driver assistance systems (adas) of all honda odysseys, models 2018-2023. 2. namely, honda has placed the radar behind the large honda emblem on the front grille. this causes the radar to give a "radar obstructed" warning, which disables all advanced driver assistance systems in the car (automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning). 3. the "radar obstructed" warning cannot be reset by restarting the vehicle or disconnecting the battery, requiring recalibration of the radar at the cost of $800 each time since it takes several hours to do (per dealership). 4. the official honda odyssey forum online has countless complaints on the same issue without resolution by honda. 5. honda has acted in bad-faith towards their customers since this defect impacts the vehicle's advanced safety features for which buyers incur additional expenses, endangering the lives of passengers. 6. honda has acted in bad-faith towards their customers by designing a system that requires continuous and substantial expenditures without resolution because it is an engineering problem, i.e., the placement of the radar behind the large, thick plastic h emblem obstructs the radar. 7. i hereby ask that the nhtsa investigate this issue and order honda to offer a solution in the form of a recall that permanently addresses the problem.

With low reproducibility rate, the vehicle may activate alarms or emergency breaking in response to wide open lane with no obstructions. what component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? automatic emergency breaking / radar how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? unexpected change of behavior has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? no has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no except during the event

Drivers2nd row seat belt would not release, seatbelt continues to apply tension on child, after trying to slide seat and tilt seat forward, no release, had to cut seat belt in order to safely remove child from seat

The contact owns a 2023 honda odyssey with a 2023 nuna rava convertible car seat, model number: cs1501, model year 2023, installed in the rear center seat. the contact stated that the restraint belts failed to tighten and properly restrain the child. the failure occurred with the restraint belts being properly locked. the manufacturer had been informed of the failure and sent a replacement strap; however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case had been opened. the contact was still awaiting a return phone call from the manufacturer with a possible remedy. the failure mileage for the vehicle was 31,323.

While driving 35-40 mph, the car started acting strange, shaking and multiple alerts began appearing. no cars were around me and i was able to get the car over to the shoulder quickly. (mileage 35,483. owned car 20 months) messages appearing: electric parking brake problem, adaptive cruise control problem, road departure mitigation system problem, collision mitigation system problem, hill start assist problem, emissions system problem, electric parking brake problem, electric power steering problem, vehicle stability assist problem, cmbs problem. i turned car off and on, multiple times, hoping it was a fluke, but car was shaking and messages kept appearing. i called honda roadside & car towed to dealership. was told internal failure of oil pump was the problem. techline reported multiple vehicles with same codes and same motor have had the same problem. replacement of spool valve, valve cover gasket & valve was the fix. this may be a future recall. car drives fine now after being repaired!

The steering wheel makes a noise when turning, you can also feel the steering wheel popping/clunking when going into turns with bumps. there was a recall for the honda odyssey back in march of 2024 for this issue but my vehicle was not part of it, however i believe the issue lies with the steering gear box/steering column. i have taken my vehicle into honda 6 times (5 times attached and currently it is there) and have not been able to get anywhere, they lubricated the steering shaft which alleviated the noise but 6 months later it came back. this noise started back in january of 2023.

The contact owns a 2023 honda odyssey. the contact stated while driving at 60 mph and attempting to make a left turn, there was an abnormal clicking noise coming from the vehicle. the contact mentioned the failure would be present when making a left turn when driving at any speed. the vehicle was taken to the same dealer on several occasions where the failure was not determined due to being unable to be replicated. on a most recent occasion, the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that the driver-side strut failed and as a result both the driver and passenger side struts needed replacement. the vehicle was not repaired due to costs. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed that the vehicle was out of warranty but offered a discount. the approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

The straps for the car seat do not secure and are easily untightened. the issue is solely with the nuna rava car seat and not the vehicle. my 1 year old was completely unstrapped after driving because he was playing with the straps. after investigating i found i could easily untighten the straps with one hand without pushing the button to release the tension on the straps. food debris got underneath the strap and was preventing the mechanism on the button from keeping tension on the straps, rendering the car seat useless. my wife called the manufacturer twice and left voicemails but has not been contacted back, i searched the internet and found multiple cases of this and the fix. i have videos showcasing this, but they are too large to upload.

I have a 2023 honda odyssey van. the van has been modified for me to drive from my wheelchair. the steering wheel has been locking up eight times when driving. it won’t out let me go straight or turn left or right. this happens when i come to a stop. it happened twice when driving. the wheelchair modifications company southern mobility said they fixed many times but it still have the steering wheel lock up. now they are telling me it’s the honda’s fault. honda said it’s the van modification fault. honda said they can look at it for $150 a hour. i am very frustrated and very concerned. i am in a wheelchair, my daughter is in a wheelchair, and i need to take my mom to dr appointments. i feel like my life is in despair l

The infotainment screen goes in and out. the screen makes crackling sounds and just goes blank. causing problems with gps, sound, back up camera, emergency help feature etc. nothing functions. extremely dangerous. when you rely on your gps and the entire system malfunctions it is so dangerous. honda had recalls on previous models for the same feature. they need to extend the year to 2023 models as well for faulty wiring. they are trying to charge thousands to replace a system that they have admitted has these issues at no fault of the consumer.

The temperature in the mid-atlantic has been below freezing for several weeks. additional all of the roads have been treated for ice. my vehicle’s wiper fluid system will not work in these below freezing temperatures. as a result i have not been able to see out of our windshield that is dirty from the road treatments. we are having to clean the windshield with baby wipes. as soon as the temperature gets into the 40s and 50s, only once in the past few weeks, the wiper fluid system works again.

Sitting still at intersection of florida avenue by us post office back window just shattered. no object found inside car. no indication it was hit by anything. just spontaneously shattered.

Profuse amount of water intrusion and pooling of water in the rear of the vehicle near the tailgate of vehicle during rainstorm. water not from above, ceiling not wet. concerns about water causing rust, and electrical damage.

Shortly after we passed 30,000 miles and our initial warranty expired, our passenger-side sliding door began having problems in which it would get stuck while opening. we would need to turn off the power to the door and manually pull the door shut. this began happening more often as the weather got colder in november to december 2024. at its peak this winter, it would happen multiple times per day, and the door was basically non-functional. we took it to the honda dealership several times before they were able to determine that the problem was a faulty latch on the sliding door. we had this replaced on march 14, 2025. the door works fine now, but the weather has been warm. we worry that this will happen again to the new latch and to the driver's-side door.

I am [xxx]. i purchased this honda odyssey van after it was modified by braunability. they put in an automatic underfloor ramp, and other modifications. when used without these modifications, there are three rows of seating. passengers go in and out, and the passenger-side sliding door opens with an automatic button. there is a sensor that controls that door. it is never in danger of being hit or disturbed in use by an ambulatory person. however, when it is used with a ramp, the second row of seats is removed and replaced with a passenger-side ramp. the ramp is 30 inches wide. the normal power wheelchair is 26 to 29 inches wide. this leaves only 2 inches maximum on either side of the ramp for the wheelchair. it is virtually impossible to not hit the sensor when going in or out by wheelchair!! i have had this van for about two years. i use it about once every two weeks. most times i have an assistant driving. i have only used it about 50 times total, in two years. on [xxx], i had a doctor's appointment. i activated the automatic door and ramp. i rolled up the ramp, and parked in the passenger area. that seat has been removed for the wheelchair. my assistant pushed the button to activate the ramp to go back under-floor. it did so. but the sliding door on the passenger side did not close at all! eventually he managed to manually slide the door shut. if i had been driving alone, i would have been stranded right there---at the doctor's office, shopping center, etc., as i do not have the strength to manually close that door! this is clearly a danger to disabled people using this modified honda odyssey. honda and braunability should be required to protect and reinforce the sensor area so users will not easily damage the sensor with light use of this van! this may also be a clear violation of the ada, the americans with disabilities act.
