2022 Honda Passport

The contact owns a 2022 honda passport. the contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the transmission shuddered. there was no warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel injectors needed to be flushed. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the same diagnostic information was provided. the contact stated that the fuel injectors were flushed again. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 25,300.

One month ago vehicle unexpectedly slowed down while driving on city street, coming to a full break. had to pull over and restart car, which solved the problem. did not have warning signs prior. haven’t had problems with car since this incident. has not been reproduced/inspected by dealers or other parties. safety issue: risk for rear end collision

Vehicle has slammed on the brakes multiple times now one on the highway going 60mph and in the city 35mph. today on a open 2 lane city road, and shadow on the road with no vehicles in site slammed on the auto brakes with a collision warning while the wife was driving slowed the vehicle down. would of been easily rear ended if a vehicle was behind in our 2022 honda pilot, not a passport listed for our vin# your system is showing.

Honda 2022 elite passport has issues with idle stop temporarily intrupted system warming up or charging

Vehicle intermittently applies front collision system braking on curves and on highway. it is vary unsafe and have almost been rear ended multiple times due to front collisions system engaging and applying brakes. vehicle front collision system applies brakes randomly and with no vehicles or obstacles in site. this happens during various speeds anywhere from 30- 50mph in city and 60-75mph on highways. ( car is unpredictable and unsafe)

The engine idle at stop function is not operating properly. the on/off switch only works some of the time, so i cannot control the function. it seems to turn off and on at random. when in stop and go traffic for any length of time where i need to edge forward every moment or so, the car is hesitating while the engine re-starts. i get honked at and am worried i'll get bumped from behind while waiting for the engine to turn on and be responsive. i cannot get the function to turn off when i need it to for my sense of safety.

I was rear-ended by a car going 60-70 mph, and no airbags went off causing me and my passenger to take all the impact, and have a hurt back following the incident.

Radio system is making cracking noise and audio cuts in and out which requires it to be turned off in order to get it to stop. the noise can be startling and the need to unplug audio and turn unit on and off creates a safety issue. from my research this appears to be a common problem with these vehicles.

Passenger side floor was accumulating water from unknown source. my vehicle was brought to the dealership for service and they incorrectly diagnosed the issue stating that it was coming from the windshield. i picked up my vehicle and instantly noticed the problem was not corrected. it was coming from underneath the vehicle and the entire carpet needed to replaced along with an extensive repair.

When i press the brake pedal to start the car (sometimes) it will no go down it is hard. have to do this 5 times to get the car to start. this has happened numerous time. i brought it to the dealer and they did not find anything wrong 2 or 3 times. i have changed the battery and tried the spare key fob. they both do it.

I was driving down a dark road at night. the vehicle has the auto high beam feature. the high beams never activated while driving. so i am not sure if there is a bad sensor or it is the system. i have seen a lot of complaints about this feature on forums and facebook pages.

The vehicle stopped measuring speed accurately, resulting in all safety features and multiple vehicle measurements becoming non functional. the vehicle was towed to fowler honda, norman ok. diagnostics revealed the sensor bolt had backed out and the sensor had backed out (code c0039-62). the sensor and bolt were installed correctly and all systems functioned again. i was travelling at interstate highway speed of 70 mph when this occurred. the vehicle remained operable, but the alarms, display warnings and lack of accurate speed indication resulted in very confusing and troubled driving until i successfully exited the highway.

Since this seat is a rotational seat there are two windows on either side of the base that show whether or not the seat is locked. when the window shows green, it is locked and ready to use. when the window shows red it means the seat is not locked, and not ready to use. on one side of the seat the window shows green all the time, even when the seat is very much not locked it shows that it is. this is seemingly a safety concern since the window is there to ensure the safety of the child, and that the seat is ready to be used in a car that is being driven. it works on one side but it is not always convenient to have to walk around to the other side to check and make sure it is operational. i have been advised by cpst's to discontinue use of the seat until i can contact evenflo but evenflo is incredibly hard to get ahold of. the seat is available to be inspected upon request. my child could have potentially been in an unlocked seat while driving the vehicle because i almost always put her in on the side that the lock mechanism is broken, and i have no idea how long it has been like that. the seat has not been inspected by anyone yet, i have reached out to evenflo and am awaiting a response in how to proceed.

Vehicle has a delayed response to accelerate as if the transmission doesn’t want to shift or missing the next up shift. starting from a stop position you have to press further down on the accelerator to get the vehicle to move which could lead you to accident either hit someone in front of you cause the vehicle lurched forward or possibly hit from the side or rear cause the vehicle won’t accelerate

I have twice now attempted to get this recall fixed and the dealer —ken garf honda of riverdale, utah— has refused to schedule the appointment within 60 days of being notified. i attempted to schedule the recall repair in july when first notified of the recall and was told they could not schedule it with the parts being ordered. they said they’d order the parts and contact me, but never did. today at 10:30 a.m. mt i attempted to again schedule the recall repair and they again said it could not be scheduled until the parts are ordered and they gave me an estimated date of when they would get back to me of 90 days from today. i reminded them the law requires it to be repaired within 60 days of notice and they hung up on me. they are now refusing to take my calls.

Vehicle was slowing down for a stoplight on a freeway frontage road and the vehicle died. not able to attempt to start vehicle or put it in neutral. dealer replaced battery.

The vehicle pulls to the right and the steering is loose. the vehicle has only 20000 miles on it and this was not how it was originally delivered but developed over a short time. the dealer said they find nothing wrong but i know that is not a correct assesment but a method of the dealer not to either fix it or they do not have a method to correct this problem. there are many instances of this same problem on honda vehicles with electric power steering on the internet sites. i simply want them to address a safety issue which appears to be fairly common.

Upon buying my honda passport 11/28/2023, i have been experiencing problems with the radio/electrical connections in my vehicle. there are times i have crackling noises in front speakers and a complete failure of sound altogether. daily stop and start in the sound system with blank moments and complete sound loses.

The passenger rear door latch will it operate from the inside, thus making it a safety hazard in case of emergency. inability to open the door from the inside will prevent passenger, often a child, from being able to safely exit a vehicle in an emergency. this is a known issue with honda and needs to be recalled and repaired.

Was driving at highway speed on the garden state parkway when the vehicle went into limp mode and many errors codes appeared. was barely able to get on the shoulder then limp to a parking lot at an exit. car had to be towed to the dealer where it is in the process of having a rocker arm spooler valve replaced that controls the vcm in the bank one cylinders. this created an extremely unsafe condition that nearly caused me to have a high speed accident

On several occassions, while driving 35 mph around a very gentle, sweeping curve, without reason or cause, the "brake" warning light displays on the dashboard, a beeping warning alarm will sound, and the steering wheel will "jiggle" to the left and right.

While driving on one lane each way roads, my automatic emergency breaking would trigger on cars going in the opposite direction. this generally just had the breaking notification trigger and beep at me, but had ~ 12 incidents where my car would auto-break for cars going the other way, including an instance where the car behind me had to swerve around me to prevent an accident. i spent ~ 30 days working with my dealership on repairs, which included replacing all of the front-facing sensors and replacing all of the front facing cameras, but that did not 100% solve the issue. while driving recently, there are still incidents of the auto-breaking triggering on cars in different lanes or going in other directions.

When driving the auto breaking is applied. the warning system flashes on the dash and the breaks are applied, there are no cars around me at the time. the system will also activate at times when going around a curve and a vehicle is approaching from the opposite direction.

The cable that opens the fuel door has broken making it impossible to refuel the vehicle. the inside emergency release also will not work when the cable is broken. the vehicle can not be refueled until extensive disassembly has been performed and the cable replaced. this can take several days and much expense. the safety concern happens when the driver is far from home or in an undesirable location and runs out of fuel. this cable problem has occurred on a less than 3 yr old vehicle with less than 36,000 miles. way too soon for a critical part to break down. the honda dealership indicated that this has occurred before. this should be addressed as a safety hazard with a recall and inspection and an extended warranty for the repair.

The car behind me was very close. i wanted to get up to the speed limit and pressed the gas. the car did not accelerate. i heard

The idle stop system comes on when i must apply my brakes and stop - for example at a red light. this week, more than once, after when the idle stop system came on, the care stalled. both times, i was in traffic and this created a dangerous situation for me. when i took my foot off the brake and touched the gas to proceed when the light turned green, the car stalled. i had to put the car in park and restart the engine. when this happened, the cars behind me assumed i was going to move forward, and they had to hit their brakes to avoid hitting me. a warning light came on behind my steering wheel and said the idle stop was interrupted. the message said i needed to put the car in park and restart the car. i am sure the traffic behind me at rush hour was not happy. thank goodness this did not happen while i was starting to make a left turn, i could have been hit if the car stalled in the intersection.

In february of 2024 my 2022 honda passport wouldn't let me reverse out of my sloped driveway. i realized the emergency brake must be frozen and sure enough as soon as it hit 33f i was able to release the brake and drive the vehicle. i figured just a little water got into the cable in the rear. in january of 2025 i found myself with the same problem with another frozen brake. i took it into the honda dealership and after a week they found out there was a leak in the body seam that let water under the driver's seat and froze the emergency brake cables. according to the mechanic, this was either the result of a major collision or a defect. since the vehicle hasn't been in a collision, this is a concerning defect that honda has so far refused to cover, including the damage to the soaked carpet. both times, i had driven for 3-8 hours in pouring rain on the highway. unacceptable for a 2- year old vehicle to have this issue.

I was exiting a highway onto another highway. it was a pretty sharp exit to the right. the vehicle lost engine power, and i couldn't travel greater than about 40 miles/hour. the vehicle would not respond to my pressing the accelerator. upon getting off the exit onto the next highway, i immediately pulled over and shut the vehicle off. i waited a few minutes before restarting the vehicle. once i restarted the vehicle, it was back to normal. there were no further issues for the rest of the drive (about 90 miles). this has happened 3-4 times since i purchased the vehicle.
