2020 FORD F-250

Rear sliding window shattered after remote starting vehicle which turns on rear defroster. glass exploded into cab covering occupants in glass.

Steering wheel vibrates at least 2-3 times each time i drive. this has occurred regularly since the first day i have owned the vehicle.

Motor has a nkocking tapping sound like and old school type writer and gets loud at times when ideling and some time really loud anfter driving it fo rw whlle, (diesel engine doesn't sound like that),ford engineering at factory knows what the problem is but refuses to allow dealership to repair it and replace the parts. transmission had snecor and valve body go out caused transmission to lock up in 10th gear and stalling out. dealership replaced the parts with new ones, bu tdid not correct the problem and now stalles and slippes when shifting gears, or sometimes shifts so hard it shakes the truck (f250 diesel). has a grinding noise when down shifting from 5,4,3 gears. when drivining the truck and go to pass around another vehicle is slips gears are stalles down until it can catch its gear to go happened several times. vehicle only has 6,500 miles on it and was purchased august 26, 2020 and should not have these issues and problems. most of all the factory engineers should not deny the dealership to fix and replace what is wrong and cauusing the lound and upnogchis knocking ticking sound even after doing a black box flight recorder to determine where the problem is coming from. they said to keep driving until enough complaints com in to have a recall sent our are until it brakes and goes out. this is a safety hazard to everyone on the road and could possibly cause harm to inisant people, such as myself, my family, and others out on the road. please have this looked into and help get it taken care of.

Approximately 100 miles into a journey, while towing a 5th wheel trailer, at approx. 70mph in a 75 mph zone between carlsbad nm and el paso tx on highway #180, the tailgate of my f-250 opened without warning or reason. i was going straight so it didn't make contact with the trailer so no damage to the truck or trailer. i was able to pull over and secure. this is the second time this has occurred -- i also reported the prior incident to nhtsa and to ford. also, when this occurred the driver dashboard alert for open tailgate did not activate. the truck had approx. 10,000 miles at the time.

Vehicle clunks and lunges forward on start up (key & remote start) while in park.

When slowing down to a stop slowly the truck bumps/clunks and surges. this is intensified if the transmission is warm. also when going up a hill under a load there is a gear noise from the rear of the truck.

Ii was driving my vehicle, aprox 55 mph on a normal road. i hit a pot hole, the vehicle began to shake violently, i thought it was a flat tire. i managed to safely pull over, inspect vehicle and determined everything "looked" okay. upon doing some research i saw this is a very common issue with these vehicles, fords famous "death wobble". i have 25k miles, my truck is practically brand new, 80% miles placed on in are highway miles. this is very dangerous and unsafe, ford needs to address this asap.

Check engine light came on while driving at highway speeds on the freeway. truck began to sputter slightly when coming to a stop. vehicle was still drivable and i was able to make it home. later diagnosis at dealership showed the problem to be a defective spark plug wire. i have since read that this is a common problem with the new 7.3 gas engine by ford.

The electronic tailgate has opened by itself twice. one in a parking lot (not moving) and the other in my driveway (not moving). the only common thing is that it was raining both times.

Vehicle demonstrates repeatable uncommanded acceleration when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. also demonstrates uncommanded acceleration when engine braking engages. occasionally vehicle operates at a uncommanded high idle of 1200-1500 rpm vs the normal 600. mostly happens when slow maneuvering such as in a parking lot or other tight space. it has happened ever since new and it has 5100 miles on it now. purchasing dealer said it was normal. others are reporting the same issue in forums online.

Under 5mph my power steering stops working.

Frequently application of acceleration results in no response from vehicle. when making turns into traffic and acceleration is needed to avoid collision the truck will not respond to throttle input. this has resulted in many near miss situations.

There are several recalls on 2019-2020 f250/350 built at the kentuky plant my vehicle however is apparently not one of them but i was in a car accident back in september 21 2020 i was driving on a county road and the vehicle did not was non responsive to what i wanted it to do i almost hit a small vehicle in front of me but swerved and crashed in a field the when i purchased the vehicle i did not test drive it or anything since i was going from a 2020 to another 2020 f250 lariat to limited now the lariat everything worked on it it would tell me that i was closing onto a vehicle with plenty of time to break and it would actually break not pull to etiher side as this one has done since i bought it. i did let ford know but they said they were plenty backed up and could get to me in a couple weeks well thats when my accident occured you see i think there are more vehicles that are affected by said recalls but someone is using us as crash test dummies just to see what happens i am glad i did not hit that family cos it would have been bad another thing is that the collision center that fixed my vehicle said that they were not able to take it to any tire location to get it aligned because these places wouldnt do the job so they took it to ford and well truck is pulling to the left but steering wheel is cockeyed to the right it just does not ride well i love the vehicle but safety is first i got the vehicle back after "recalibration" and well it still has the same issues warning sensors dont alert you as they should not enough warning from pre-collision pulls to the side rides real rough etc. etc.

On august 28, 2020, the engine in my virtually brand new 2020 ford f-250 truck (equipped with a diesel engine) suddenly and without any advanced warning whatsoever shut off while the vehicle was in motion. i had just turned from state highway 10 into the left lane of a four-lane city street in 5 o'clock traffic on a friday evening. without either power brakes or power steering, i was able to get the truck out of the roadway and into the parking lot of an adjacent business. i tried to restart the vehicle numerous times. while the engine would crank, it simply would not restart. i contacted my local ford dealership the next morning and they arranged to have the truck towed to their place of business. after the ford dealership had my truck for nearly a month, they determined that the cause for the sudden shutdown of my engine was a failed bosch cp4 high pressure fuel pump, which failure contaminated my entire fuel delivery system with metal shavings. i am now aware that there are class action lawsuits against each of the major us manufacturers relating to failures of the bosch cp4 high pressure fuel pump as a result of the lack of lubrication provided by low-sulfur diesel fuel generally available in the us, which failures result in substantial repair costs to replace the entire fuel delivery system.

Lost power steering while pulling a camper.

Tl* the contact owns a 2020 ford f-250 trailered to a 2019 forest river rockwood travel trailer, equipped with lionshead tires, tire line: castle rock, tire size: st225/75/r15, dot: 1mt14118. the contact stated that the trailer was swaying behind the vehicle while driving at an undisclosed speed. the contact removed the tire and took it to a tire shop for inspection. the contact was informed that the tire tread belt had slipped and that the tire was out of round and needed to be replaced. the tire was not replaced. the manufacturer was not contacted or notified of the failure. the failure mileage on the travel trailer was 850.

The instrument cluster display (icd) of my 2020 ford f-250 randomly goes black and provides no information. the display will randomly come on and usually go out again while driving. the display usually displays a warning that there is a fault with the blind spot warning system or cross traffic warning system before going out. i have also started to receive displays asking if i want to activate the cras avoidance system, but i can’t make a selection even though the system hqs already been turned on. i also don’t feel the vehicle braking when the crash alert warning activates like it once did even thought the brake assist is turned on.

The lower cooling hose came loose on my ford 2020 f250 with1650 miles on the vehicle, while traveling on a interstate towing a load of approximately 7000lbs. the engine lost power and we managed to safely exit of the interstate. the max. speed of the vehicle was 20 mph while trying to exit the interstate safely, it was an intense moment to get off the busy interstate safely. the vehicle was towed to a ford dealership, and we are awaiting a diagnosis.

While traveling on an interstate, i notice my vehicle was smoking. soon my engine high temperature light came on and my speed dropped from 65 mph to 20 mph. i was in the center lane when this happened. i scrambled to get the truck and the travel trailer i was pulling over into the right lane and median, doing all i could to prevent an accident. once i reached the median i was approx. 1/4 miles from an exit. i drove to the exit at my vehicles max speed of 20 mph. once stopped i reviewed my truck and noticed engine coolant pouring from a line that had disconnected. upon review the line did not have a clamp present and there were no witness or compression marks on the hose. the vehicle was towed to a dealership for diagnosis and the dealer confirmed the defect of no hose clamp or the hose was installed improperly at the factory.

Tl* the contact owns a 2020 ford f-250. the contact stated that when he starts his truck that when the vehicle switched gears, the transition was rough. there were some times when the vehicle would remain stuck in a certain gear and then have a delay in shifting thus putting a strain on the transmission. when the contact used the vehicle to tow the issue was even worse. the dealer (gene messer ford lubbock 6000 west 19th, lubbock, tx 79407 (806) 793-2727) stated that issue may be with the pcm and ptm. they were going to check with the manufacturer and get back with the contact. the contact tried to call the manufacturer but the call disconnected. the vehicle remained unrepaired. the dealer recommended that the vehicle can be driven for now but not to tow anything. the failure mileage was 3,900.

Backing up in reverse with a trailer. clear skies, dry weather and during daylight. tailgate opens and hits the trailer jack causing extensive damage to tailgate, tailgate rail, pull out step.

On august 9, 2020 the electric automatic tailgate openning device malfunctioned while i was driving my 2020 f-250 towing a fifth wheel trailer at the time. the tail gate openned while i was driving the truck causing extensive damage to my trailer and truck tail gate. while i was dring in a neighborhood at less than 15 miles per hour, with no traffic, and was able to pull over safely, i still had to block traffic and if this malfunction occurred under different circumstances far more significant safety impact, including injury and possible death could have occurred. the nhtsa has issued previous safety recalls for ford trucks 2017-2019 for the exact same issue. while ford contends they have fixed the problem in thier 2020 model, that is obviously not the case as this occurred while i was driving the vehicle with the tailgate closed/secured prior to the vehicle moving. this is a serious safety issue that must be addressed. i have reported this to ford twice, their case reference numbers are provided here: cas-27558976-x5l5c1 and cas-27335518. ford has refused to accept responsibility or take corrective action.

Michelin tire on front cupping with 1350 miles.

My brand new 2020 f250 lariat was delivered to my home yesterday. it was driven roughly 80 miles from denver to colorado springs by the salesman who sold it to me, but is otherwise unused. i noticed last night that the emergency brake cable running to the left rear wheel appears to be too long. as a result it has a loop in it that is positioned between the main leaf springs and a secondary spring that i believe engages when the truck is fully loaded. it's pretty obvious that under a full load, the brake cable is at risk of being pinched by the springs. i have little doubt that the dealer will fix this for me when i ask, but am alarmed that other similar trucks may have the same problem.

While a trailer is attached to the truck, the tailgate opens automatically and without warning. the problem does not occur every time but does occur often while towing. it typically opens when first starting to move, whether forward or reverse. it may open repeatedly after closing and attempting to start moving again.

Truck has a bad wobble in steering when it hits bumps at highway speed. it has 2,000 miles on it. i think some folks have called this a "death wobble". when it happens it could easily cause loss of control. the steering feels like it has too much slop in it even at low speeds. this is dangerous and i've seen this mentioned many times on the internet. i thought it may be just old trucks, but mine is brand new.
