The affected vehicles have a center console trim panel that may catch the driver’s shoe and delay the transition from the accelerator pedal to the brake pedal. Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will modify the console trim panel, free of charge. The recall began on September 14, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
2015-07-01	ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:SWITCH	Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2014 Versa Sedan vehicles manufactured July 16, 2013, to January 29, 2014, 2013-2014 Cube vehicles manufactured July 3, 2013, to October 21, 2013, and 2013-2014 Juke vehicles manufactured July 3, 2013, to October 22, 2013. When exposed to hot temperatures, the affected vehicles have an engine start/stop button that may stick inside the button housing. Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will modify the start/stop switch housing, free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

I purchased a 2014 Nissan Versa from Maita Nissan in Sacramento (Now called Sacramento Nissan) on September 12, 2014 and I’m just not satisfied. The vin number is 3N1CN7AP8EK445673 I purchased a 2014 Nissan Versa from Maita Nissan in Sacramento (Now called Sacramento Nissan) and I’m just not satisfied. This car does not at all sound like a new car. I drove it off the lot with 9 miles on it, but immediately noticed how difficult it is for the transmission to smoothly get into gear. It’s loud and almost sounds like it’s completely broken. When I put the car in reverse I hear a loud clunking sound whether it’s on a flat surface or in the driveway.
I’ve discussed hearing this sound before 4 different times and also went to the Nissan service department 4 times. I’m being told nothing is wrong. I didn’t purchase a “brand new” car to have all of these problems.
I called Nissan Consumer Affairs and advised them about the issues and requested a buy back. After waiting 3 weeks for an answer, they advised me on 4/9/15 that they are not going to accommodate my request.
In August of 2015, I started feeling the car jolt forward even more while braking than it did during my initial complaint. I also smell exhaust on a regular basis. Today is December 31, 2015. As I was driving to and from work I noticed the car felt like it was going to stall. I called Nissan of Sacramento and they advised me they can look at it on Saturday. Because I don’t feel safe, I am dropping it off today and they are providing me a rental. I’ve also been advised of two recall campaigns since May of 2015. The fact that there are two recalls and a third pending, I feel I it is my right to have my money back so I can get a car that is safe. I fear something possibly tragic is going to happen if I continue to drive this car. Please help.
I took my car back to Nissan of Sacramento on December 31, 2015 and the advisor that assisted me is Drew. I have been to this place so many times that I had little confidence anything would change and I was correct. I received a call from Drew on Saturday, January 2, 2016 and he advised me the cars computer system was reprogrammed and that resolved the issue. I happen to know resetting a cars computer system will not fix a transmission that has been defective since I purchased the car. I also happen to know it will not resolve a car that abruptly jolts forward while braking and it will not resolve any shaking that happens when I press the brake. The ECM is just that. It doesnt resolve issues with major car components. He then went on to tell me the two recalls that Nissan issued were completed on my car. I picked the car up on Monday, January 4, 2016 after I got off work. I noticed it was doing the same exact things it had been doing all along. The car still feels like it wants to stall out, the transmission is loud just as it has been since purchase, the car still jolts forward intermittently while Im braking, there is a strong smell of exhaust and the brakes are still shaking. This experience is the most ridiculous car buying experience I have ever encountered. Nissan does not care about the safety, satisfaction or concerns Ive CONTINUOUSLY addressed and this situation is beyond old. Im seeking out an attorney that can assist me in getting my money back since Nissans corporate office has denied my request for a buy back early 2015. I guess theyre waiting until something tragic happens before they will take my concern serious. I will NO longer accept that their mechanics are unable to duplicate an obvious problem and that they base everything off of a code. The car is indeed a piece of crap. I do not work on cars and I have enough knowledge of cars to know when something is wrong with the transmission and engine. I am a very knowledgeable woman who has purchased MANY cars. I know what a quality vehicle sounds and drives like and I wont tolerate any more disregard. After I left the dealership yesterday, I made a stop at a friends home and when I got back in my car, it would not come on. I saw Paladin Security on site so I asked the gentlemen if he could help me get my car started. I called Nissan Roadside Assistance and they advised me my warranty doesnt include a possible jumper cable service. I called Nissan of Sacramento around 6:37 pm pst and requested to speak to a service manager and I was advised they had closed for the evening. I then proceeded to ask for any available manager to take my call and complaint. I spoke to sales manager Joe Vo and as of today Tuesday, January 5, 2016, they have agreed to tow my car back to their shop for yet another look at my car. Im confident nothing will happen and someone will have the same story ready to deliver to me after a few hours or days. I simply will not spend an entire year playing another year of back and forth games with Nissan of Sacramento, Maita Nissan (former owners of that lot) or Nissans Corporate office. Im emphatic about receiving ALL of my money back and being relieved from this awesome burden. I am past frustrated and 100 % done.

10 Investigations for 2014 NISSAN Versa

On may 20, 2014, odi opened pe14-014 based on eight complaints alleging incidents of excessive brake pedal travel in model year (my) 2013 through 2014 nissan sentra, versa sedan and versa note passenger cars (figure 1) and information in early warning reporting field reports indicating issues with master cylinder internal seals.in response to an information request letter sent by odi, nissan identified a condition with the master cylinder in early production subject vehicles that could result in a slow internal leak past one of the recuperating seals to the brake reservoir when the brake pedal is depressed very slowly or lightly (figure 2).the subject vehicles are equipped with fixed seal master cylinders supplied by trw.to address concerns with water hammer noise with the standard seal design, the master cylinders in the early production subject vehicles used awh (anti-water hammer) seals.the awh seals are sensitive to contamination from assembly plant cleanliness issues, which can produce the internal leak condition during slow or light brake applies but perform as designed with normal or emergency brake applications.trw indicated that the risk of contamination interacting with the subject seals is greatest after the evacuation and pressure fill process used to fill the brake system during the manufacturing process (early life issue).trw developed a new master cylinder seal design (evo seal) that addresses the noise concern and eliminates the internal leak concern associated with contamination by providing a secondary seal (figure 3).nissan implemented the new master cylinder design in vehicle production on september 23, 2013.odi's analysis shows that the master cylinder warranty claim rate is much higher in vehicles produced before the change (figure 4).statistical analysis showed that the condition is an early-life problem with relatively low failure rates projected through 100,000 miles and approximately 58 percent of the failures projected to occur by that mileage have already occurred (table 1).warranty claims are highest (78% of claims) in vehicles with less than 10,000 miles (figure 5) and 50 percent of claims involved vehicles with less than 90 days in service (figure 6).odi evaluated 22 crash claims that included allegations of master cylinder failure, sinking brake pedal or pedal to the floor (table 2).the analysis identified only three crashes in which a brake performance issue related to the master cylinder was duplicated by post-incident inspection, including one with a different problem than the seal leak issue (a broken plunger).the two crash complaints related to a possible master cylinder concern involved 1 vehicle with the awh seal and 1 with the evo seal.both were minor crashes.the remaining crashes do not appear to be related to any issues with the master cylinder or other brake system fault.in the 4 crashes with event data recorderinformation available, the data indicated that the brakes were applied too late to avoid the collisions.these include 2 crashes with less than a half second of braking before impact and 2 in which brake applications lasting 1.0 to 2.5 seconds resulted in high decelerations consistent with fully functioning brake systems, but too late to avoid the collision.overall, the rates of crashes adjusted for vehicle exposure (total vehicle years in service) do not show any correlation to the high warranty rates associated with the awh seal leak concern (table 3 & figure 7).given these circumstances, further use of the agency resources in this matter does not appear to be warranted.accordingly, this investigation is closed. the closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by nhtsa that a safety-related defect does not exist. the agency will continue to monitor complaints and other information relating to the alleged defect and take further action in the future if warranted.
