I was returning home from a trip downtown phoenix. I had driven about 100 miles this day. I was about one and half miles from home. I live in Sun City AZ. I was traveling west on, W. Gulf Hills Dr. I stopped at the stop street sign at W. Gulf Hills Dr. and Dell Wed Blvd. There was no traffic. I turn right and the car over-steered further right. I corrected to the left and the car over-steered to the left. This shook me up. I immediately stopped turning the steering wheel and the; Over-steering ceased. Luckily there were no other cars on this road. I moved the steering wheel slowly and got the car pointed down the road north in the left lane. I was intending to turn left at Hutton Dr. just a few blocks north. When I got to Hutton; Once again the road was clear of traffic. I made the left onto Hutton Dr. and once again the steering over corrected. Meaning, Car went to the extreme left on moving the steering wheel left and the car moving to the extreme to the right on moving the steering wheel to the right. Continuing west on Hutton Dr. the car felt like the wheels were loose; because of the wobble of the car. Short left then right movements of the car with the slightest movements of the steering wheel. This was really scary. When I got to W. Canyon Creek Dr. I turned right. Once again the car over corrected. I got to my home at 11002 W. Canyon Creek Dr. and parked in the garage. I call Peoria Nissan on West Bell, Sun City and spoke to Marc Hicks about this problem and I wanted them to look into this the next morning. He said Ok.

The next morning about 08:00am; I drove the car to Peoria Nissan, 87th Ave and W. Bell Rd.. I did-not duplicate the over steering problem on this drive. Mr. Marc Hicks Service department was informed of this steering and he assigned a senior Technician to drive the car. I reminded them that I had not dedicated the problem on the over this morning. Both the technician and I drove the car and the problem never returned.

Recommendation from the Technician and MR. Marc Hicks; Get a wheel alignment. Stating they think the road surface was irregular and caused the car to show wobble. Twist and turn. I rejected that idea because I drive this area quite a lot. These roads in Sun City AZ are the best maintained roads in the county; because its a Senior Citizens community. Seniors vote and the county wants seniors to be happy so they have the best roads; I explained. I ask, If I do an Alignment will that cost me anything. Yes, $79.00. I say why? It is under warranty. He said, Alignments arent covered under warranty. I thanked MR. Marc Hicks and said no. I ask to get my cars prepaid- exterior maintenance Zaztek paint protection service that was scheduled maintenance completed.
For the record when I picked up the car; Previous Zaztek protection when applied the Maxima really shined and showed its self. After this particular Zaztek application; I did not notice the high shine. Must say this was disappointing.

At Coulter Nissan

In the afternoon of Jan 15 2014 I took the Nissan Maxima to Coulter Nissan. I meet MR. Larry Orris, Service Advisor. I told him the story of my cars acting-up. He recommended I get an oil change and the service department would take a look at it. I declined, stating, I do not need an oil change and this is a warranty problem about the steering, not the engine oil. As MR. Orris and I were talking a young conscientious technician came by and MR. Orris ask him for his advice on this matter. He said he had never heard of this kind of a problem but could review the manual and I ask if he could let me see the manual. I wasnt able to see the manual, but he took action by printing me three pages of the diagram on the power steering system. I appreciate that very much.

My reaction: Disappointment and aggravation with my car and with both Nissans service departments.
