2019-02-05	ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE	Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2011-2013 Tucson vehicles. The engine oil pan may leak and, if not addressed, the loss of oil may result in engine damage. Remedy: Hyundai has notified owners, and dealers will inspect for an oil pan leak, replacing it if necessary, and install an updated oil pressure switch, free of charge. The recall began August 19, 2019. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai’s number for this recall is 181.
2014-05-13	AIR BAGS	Hyundai Motor Company (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 Hyundai Tucson vehicles manufactured January 3, 2011, through December 23, 2013. In the affected vehicles, the air bag assembly installed in the steering wheel may come loose from its mounting. Remedy: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and tighten the bolts that secure the driver’s air bag assembly, free of charge. The recall began on May 9, 2014. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-800-633-5151. Hyundai’s number for this recall is 118.

two weeks before these events, I brought in my Tucson and had is serviced along with a multipoint inspection and left with a clean bill of health.
Actually,even received a compliment from the service manager on how well kept my car was.

Fast forward to this past Friday afternoon. I\'m driving home from work, turning left through a very busy intersection and mid-turn I hear a PING and knocking from my engine and I simultaneously loose the ability accelerate!
The car behind me almost rear ends me as the others are honking.
I am barely able to make it to the side street!

I have my car towed to the Hyundai dealer and they tell me my engine is seized at only 80,000 miles and it\'s not normal wear and tear so they report it to Hyundai motor company.
They ask the dealer to tear down my engine and find out exactly what failed, but if they deny the prior authorization, I am responsible for $520 just to tell Hyundai what is wrong!
I am in tears and have no other choice as I just purchased this car a little over one year ago and owe far to much money on this car!
I have now been without transportation for 7 days and Today the dealer calls me and tells me that the bearings failed and it does not look to be customer neglect and there are metal shaving everywhere and in the oil pan, but unfortunately, since I am the second owner And over 60,000 miles Hyundai is denying the warranty and ANY GOOD WILL repair assistance.
This is extremely consistent with the safety issues that caused the recent recall and investigation on the 2.4L engines.
I called to inquire about the reason for denial and that I can provide good maintenance records if needed and I was completely ignored and shut down and told that I can file an complaint the the BBB autoline and goodbye.
My dealer believes I am not to blame and are supporting me in this claim yet Hyundai doesn\'t seem to believe or trust their own technicians!
BEST WARRANTY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE … I used to believe it but I am truly astonished at how awful this I was treated and at this customer service experience!!

I have done my research and there are multiple complaints on the 2012 Tucson with the same engine issues, reported over the last few months. You can see them on the nation highway and safety website here :

And I am sure you are aware of the recall and the investigation going on after their recall. Also knowlegde of their own engineer reporting that they are liars!
