Aluminum headbolt sheared off causing internal damage resulting in car losing power and not being able to get off the roadway. this is an n52 engine and complaints are that this problem is solely caused by an over torque of the bolt during manufacturing.

Takata recalls? when i start my car, i keep getting a message "passenger restraint malfunction" involving seat belt, air bag, etc. if i don't connect my seat belt on the passenger side when no one is in it, the bell keeps ringing.my car is not on the list of recalls for this. why isn't my car on the recall list?

Getting "passenger restraint system" error for no apparent reason at all. i'm afraid the airbags won't deploy in case of accident.

Fumes coming into cabin, bmw service center states that it is the initial burning off of the fuel when car is started, yet it can be detected an hour after the car has been running, especially if the air conditioning is on

Takata recall got recall notice march 2016 have checked with bmw dealer 3 times and am told i am on the list. i live in atlanta, ga but have a condo at panama city beach, fl and drive back and forth regularly. i don't understand why it is taking so long when this is such a major safety issue. i understand there is a priority list and i would like to be on it given the age of my vehicle and where i live.

I have a bmw 328i series 2011 4 door sedan vehicle ) i purchased my car 2018 april and since the 1 st day it has given me electrical problems diagnostics nor any mechanic have found soultion the vehicles battery suddenly drains i have gotten 5 new batterys replaced because they end up being bad and i always have a drained battery after 3 or less hours of recently usage also the vehicle in various occasion turns of in the freeway ,while driving in the street etc. when it shutsdown lights flicker ,and in dashboard theirs shortage noise and in the dashboard the ground picture with the vehicle is red (no check engine ) my brake light is permanently on then after 1-2 min car turns on completly well and the ground logo with the vechile is yellow but it can turn of and do the same in 1-3 min or sometimes it wont do it until 4 hr or the next day but it is a constant thing everytime i drive the vehicle i have started to worry because i noticed my battery full of acid and i replaced it three time because tr scid is melting the metal were the battery goes and it is next to the gas tank

Electrical system malfunction. bmw dealer ship not taking responsibility for these defects, the sparks plugs keep burning out due to the car overheating.

I called the dealership (motorworks bmw in bloomington mn) regarding two open recalls (pcv heater and air bag) they told me that the airbag was not affected but they would repair the pcv heater. i am more concerned about the air bag as it is related to crash safety.

Both driver and passenger led tail lights are starting to fail. both are flickering and one is dimming, this is happening on the tail gate mounted lights

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 bmw 328. while driving 45 mph, the contact heard an explosion coming from the air conditioner/heating system. the contact noticed fumes coming from the vents. the contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and turned off the engine. upon restarting the vehicle, the air conditioner failed to operate. the contact mentioned that during the winter season, condensation appeared on the windows when the heating system was activated. the vehicle was taken to park ave bmw (530 huyler st, south hackensack, nj 07606, (201) 843-4999) where it was diagnosed that the blower motor wiring needed to be repaired. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 17v676000 (electrical system). the failure mileage was 73,450. vin tool confirms parts not available. *tt *tr

My bmw 328i e93 has the service engine soon (ses) light come on while i was driving on the highway. the computer shows error code 2b3a (p1449 dmtl system fault). i cleared the code and it came back a week later. i tried replacing the gas cap and the error still comes back the same. i was doing further research and came across this article (attached) from nhtsa.gov describing the same exact problem, with the same exact code and even my engine is the same n52k for my e93 328i. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2012/sb-10051299-3508.pdf the dmtl pump is there to help reduce emissions and if the system is faulty, the bmw dealership should honor the request for service work to replace the dmtl pump under the emissions/extended emissions warranty. i called and they said there's no recall for this vin so they can't help me...and they are making me pay for the diagnostic fee...but i do in fact have my emissions warranty still in effect for the vin which is 8 years or 80,000 miles, whichever comes first. it seems that there needs to be an active recall for these faulty dmtl pumps/systems as this problem exists for engines like mine -the n52k engine. i encourage the nhtsa to take a look into this matter and work closely with bmw north america to institute a remedy for this. thank you in advance and have a nice day.

Sometimes when i try to open the driver's side door using the mechanical handle, door does not unlock. i have to use my key fob to remotely unlock the car before the door handle will work to open the door.

The door handle actuator sporadically fails and the door can not be opened with either the inside or outside door handle.

Cluster malfunction, one morning after a snowstorm i started the car and all lights on dash and gauges started to malfunction on and off. i took it to the dealer that dealership said the cluster is bad the rdc control unit. tpms, battery and kombi wiring. and ask for a real high price to repair. after i take it to a few local bmw shops and everyone is asking me if i got the recalls done but only one recall of three is available to fix. some thinks it’s water damages and bmw didn’t check the car properly.

Takata airbag problems on the passenger side of the vechicle. when i bought this car from the third party dealership, “chase autoplex” he resetted the settings everything was working properly, but after getting home, the next day my car showed airbag problems. when i called him, he said he can’t help me out with it. so my question is that, if you guys can help me get a recall on this airbag, so i don’t have to spent money on it myself, i will appreciate it. thanks

Have a recall on blower motor wiring and valve heater. took my vehicle to dealer couple of time, they checked and notified that some wires are burning and needs to be replaced but unable to do so due to part not available. it's been couple of months now and i haven't heard from the dealer.

I received notice in october that there is a recall however the bmw dealership informed me that "yes there is a recall but we will not be ordering parts until after jan 2018", well how safe am i driving this car.....they act like it is not a concern...????

02/25/15 i left my bmw at the dealer for many of the constant issues my car has had but they have not been able to duplicate. one of the many things was that all doors will close but the front passenger. they always said they could not duplicate. but when i left my car at the dealer it was just not closing at all. on 02/27/15. i received a call from the service department manager and he said to me that he was going to explain about the estimates to fix my car. i asked him why they will charge me for something they never could duplicate when my car was on warranty and now that my car is out of warranty its seem they are able to duplicate the same problems i have been advising them for years. he said that he could not use good will with me anymore because he has used 4 already (if we are dealing with a recurring issue which i have notify you of many times before you do not need to use goodwill, but i am not an expert) i told him that he himself said anything the car has on history they will fix when they can duplicate. then he said he was going to review my car history (i think to this point he should have done it before calling me to aggravate me) he never did called me or at least apologize. i finally talked to my advisor and she said it was ok they were going to take care of it. once again my non ending nightmare gives me a hard day and a worst hopeless feeling. i still don't understand their frustration. i should be the angry one. because now they had duplicate something i have said so many times and my car is out of warranty they wanted me to pay for it. to me the word duplicate for them means ?how can we keep on hiding all the issues and keep people believing they are crazy so we can keep on making money". *tr

While driving along at approximately 35mph, my 2011 328i shut off. due to my given relatively low speed and location (back road) i was able to pull the car safely to the shoulder. once stopped, i attempted to start the engine. the car would start. subsequently, the car was towed to the nearest bmw service facility. the bmw repair technician advised an internal fuel link cracked, thus the car had effectively run out of gas. the entire fuel tank and pump had to be replaced. a simple google search for "2011 bmw 328i swollen fuel pump" reveals others have had this issue as well. this is a serious safety concern as the car could have shut off and failed at any time. i could have been travelling at 65mph on the interstate, which may have caused an accident. i want to know if the replacement fuel tank and pump that bmw installed in my car address what is clearly an engineering and design fault, or am i at risk of this happening in the future as well? i've contacted bmw usa but have not received a response as of this submission. *tr

Bmw 328/2011- poor rain handling & lack of airbag(s) deploying in crash where car was totaled. i was driving in the rain and visibility was fine. my car started to hydroplane and started fishtailing, then spun out of control and into a guard rail on i-95. my airbags did not deploy. my car has been declared a "total loss." i have had 5 cars and 2 of them were bmw 3 series. my 2007 bmw never had a problem. i've never had an accident before this one and am confident driving in the rain. i do not feel that my bmw performed like it should have. i did not suffer "serious" injuries but am having to go to a chiroprator and get deep tissue massage twice weekly. i'm not sure if the airbags would have helped my situation (i hit my head and am having what i'm sure are "normal" problems after an auto accident.) *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2011 bmw 328xi. the contact stated it was very easy to shift into first gear, from reverse, due to the way the gear shifter was manufactured. the failure also occurred when shifting into reverse, from first gear. the contact also stated that first gear and reverse were positioned very close to each other on the gear shifter, making it very easy to slip into the wrong gear. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed the vehicle was operating as designed. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 5 and the current mileage was 6,000.

I leased a vehicle from bmw encinitas that had previously been used by them as a loaner vehicle on 3/24/11. on 4/20/11, i parked the vehicle at my home after a short 20 minute freeway drive and within 20-30 minutes, flames were shooting out the top of the hood and over the tops of the front tires. the flames were blue and burned so hot water was unable to douse them. the fire burned for approx 15 more minutes before the fire dept was able to put it out. upon inspection, the engine was completely charred, engine mounts gone and the bumper and lights approx 2 feet in front of the car. the car is now owned by state farm insurance. bmw was not at all interested in determining the cause of this fire. to my knowledge, no work was ever performed on this vehicle.

2011 bmw 328i. consumer states problem with the rail on which the front seats are mounted *tgw the consumer stated each seat has two rails attached to the floor. the rails, attach to the seats move to allow adjustment. when the drivers seat is properly adjusted, the top rails mounted on the seats, project several inches into foot well of the rear passenger compartment. the rails are bare metal and have sharp edges on the end and they project 2 1/2 inches and are not flushed to the floor. the consumer believed there was ample space for his feet to pass beneath the sharp rails. he believed it posed a safety hazard while entering and exiting the vehicle. *jb
