THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL BE DISABLED WHEN THE AIRBAG WARNING LAMP IS ILLUMINATED AS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECT AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WARNING DISABLE (PAWD) LAMP IN THE OVERHEAD CONSOLE WILL ALSO ILLUMINATE. Remedy: DEALER WILL UPDATE THE VEHICLE’S RESTRAINTS CONTROL MODULE (RCM) WITH THE INTEGRATED DIAGNOSTICS SYSTEM (IDS) TOOL WITH SOFTWARE FROM DVD 118.5 PATCH 16 OR LATER. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 21, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT JAGUAR LAND ROVER AT 1-800-452-4827. |

In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger frontal air bag, these inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling. Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag assembly, free of charge. The recall began June 27, 2018.
