1994 DODGE Neon

Shaft front wheel drive replaced.

Motor mount replaced.

Loss of power steering, when vehicle is operated during wet conditions. *ak

Transmission would engage in gear because clutch was totally fried. tt

While driving vehicle stalled/stopped due to fuel pump failing. please describe details. tt

Car was in an accident(it was a small one)the air bag deployed and a lot of black powder came out. tt

Consumer states motor mounts collapsed-

Consumer experienced problem with sudden acceleration when starting. vehicle would accelerate at 7 mph. consumer has notified dealer of problem; dealer informed consumer that the vehicle was designed that way. also believed this was the other factor which caused the vehicle to be totaled during an accident. vehicle was also in/out of dealer shop for correction, but nothing was found. dealer notified. *ak

Vehicle vehicle was in an idle position, was put in drive, at stop pulled forward and vehicle went into open throttle position and lurched forward, impact 12:00 position, speed unknown, also experienced the problem again while driving, throttle got stuck. *ak *jb

Mr. larry a. sackey submitted a petition to the national highway traffic safety administration (nhtsa) by letter dated april 18, 2003, requesting that nhtsafurther investigate the "defective collapsible steering shaft system" on 1987-1995 vehicles manufactured by the daimlerchrysler corporation.in part because of 49 cfr § 30120(g), nhtsa has decided to limit the scope of the petition vehicles to 1993-1995 models, excluding the 1993 jeep grand cherokee and 1994-1995 dodge ram series trucks that were recalled (93v210 & 96v230) for steering column failure.if the analysis of these vehicles had identified a potential problem, the scope could have been expanded in an investigation.a review of odi's data base shows no recent complaints and a lack of a complaint trend concerning the subject issue on the subject vehicles as a whole or by individual models.therefore, the petition is denied.for details, see federal register notice volume 68, no. 130, july 8, 2003.
