2018 HONDA Accord

A loud droning noise occurs randomly. noticeable not only by driver but front and rear passengers. this has been brought to the dealers attention since purchase. they say they cannot replicate the noise. originally happened between 40 and 50 mph but now occurs at various speed.

The brakes grab hard. the pedal goes down a little and then the brakes seem to lock up. we bought the car with 2 miles on it the same day it was delivered to the dealership. immediately it was apparent there was a problem. they told us to drive it a while and it would go away. it has not. 2 weeks later i told them again. we have told them about the problem 4 times and they say no one else has complained with that problem. it has almost 35,000 miles on it and they say it will cost me to fix it, assuming they can find out what the problem is. h e l p !!!!

20,000 miles on my 2018 honda accord. the tires on this vehicle makes a loud, flopping noise which is very annoying. i took it to the realer , and they suggested new tires and wheel alignment with only 20 thousand miles.

Was driving straight on i-10 in arizona on carpool lane when suddenly some warning lights came on dashboard car made me veer to the right making me spin out of control causing a crash and hitting the fence.

The collision mitigation braking system and adaptive cruise control system has thrown an error and stopped working 5 times now. it has happened to me on long road trips on the highway at speeds of 50+ mph. it has happened less than 30 minutes after starting the vehicle and sometimes after 2+ hours of driving. the weather conditions have ranged from cloudy to fine (no snow or rain). this is extremely dangerous to have happen at highway speeds in traffic.

Windshield is incredibly fragile. has cracked and gotten chipped under minimal driving. there is a prohibitively high cost to replace because of driver assistance camera attached directly to windshield.

When vehicle is on, safety features like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot indicators, traction control, door locking, hands free phone call answering and hanging up buttons on steering wheel are all not working. my information sceen is locked and cannot be changed.

Definitely automatic noise cancelling. have had to dealership which replaced multiple microphones. noise persists. usually in cold weather and always between 50-55 mph or ~35 mph. humming / buzzing noise emitted from front speakers near passenger and driver feet.

The fuel pumps, made by supplier denso, were "exposed to production solvent drying for longer periods of time" during manufacturing, according to the nhtsa recall report, which could cause surface cracking and excessive fuel absorption and eventually cause the impeller to become deformed and fail. the fuel pumps on vehicles produced outside limited dates given on the report do not have the problem. this recall did not include the 2018 honda accord models even though they are having the exact same issues. my car is stalling the emissions warning light is on along with the adaptive cruise control, lane departure, and the collision mitigation. i feel this should be included in the recall the put in place last year being that is is the same issues. my vehicle would stall in a parking spot at my home when i’m first starting it. it would flash a warning like a car is in front of me randomly when nothing is there. i haven’t got into a wreak but i free that i may be in one if this issue isn’t fixed and being that this was an issue with previous models i shouldn’t have to come out of pocket. i brought this car brand new off the lot. there is no reason why i should be changing the fuel injector 3 years later.

A/c started blowing warm air intermittently at about 45k. but noticed a/c wasn't as cold. when showed to dealer, advisor ran a/c and said its ok. at 60k miles , no a/c, just warm air. took it to a/c store , they found leak and told us most of the new hondas with the new a/c systems are having leaks because of the new freon causing issues. honda refuses to fix it under recall.

Collision mitigation braking system problem. see your dealer. this has showed up 3 times on my car so far, 2 times in 6 days. driving in good weather, clean highways, checked radar for debris and have not found any each time. dealer says no code, nothing wrong! why is it telling me to "see dealer" ???? if nothing is wrong. all the safety, cruise and braking safety features were shut off, could not use cruise alone after. happened once in 2020 and march 20&26 of 2021. dealer keeps telling me nothing is wrong!

I have had issues with my rear brakes for a long time. i have changed my rear brakes twice since i had the car. today all my warning lights in the dashboard turned on and won't turn off. i have no clue as to what's going on. also the rear taillights had a broken seal where moisture collects in the taillights. the brakes in this car was the worst i have ever experienced. the car vibrates while braking and there is a vibration in the brake pedal as well despite having recently changed the brakes. the warning lights are a new problem and a complete electrical failure. the current mileage is 62,000 miles.

Dealership 2019 stated fuel injector problems all of the sensor lighting systems are still lit up. had to replace transmission 12/2019. since then can not utilize the cruise. now stating its a turbo wastegate issue.

Burning excessive gas. every 2 days i have been filling my tank. filled tank to half tank of gas and within less than 24 hours i am on empty. forward collision goes off unexpectedly without anything in front of vehicle. there is a constant gas smell in the car while driving. my garage also has been stink with gas smell since the last 3 weeks consistently.

The rear passenger brake pad is worn to nothing. all other pads are fine. i have 22,000 miles on my honda. dealership said it was rusted because i live at the beach. if that is true then would there not be problems with all 4. i heard scraping sounds before. the low tire pressure warning has been on. while driving my car, the electronic panel read i needed to pull over immediately and call roadside assistance. the tire pressure was fine.

Loud humming/whining noise occurs while driving at speeds between 35-50 mph. the only way to stop this ear splitting noise is to crack a window. according to the dealer, it is a known-issue with the automatic noise cancelling system in 2018 honda accords and later. honda hasn't been able to fix this issue in over 3 years. it is extremely distracting to the driver, not to mention unsafe to have to drive with the window open in freezing temperature and rain. it happens to me almost every time i drive, especially in temperatures below 50 degrees.

I2 weeks ago i had my car's computer system updated as per the recall notice. everything was fine then 2 days ago i noticed on the heads up display "cruise) which had never been there before. i set the speed at 65 on the freeway and it held the speed fine, however, as i approached another vehicle from behind it did not slow down to match the speed of the other car. i had to brake to avoid hitting it. i tried using the interval button to set the distance from the other vehicle but it did not work. i took the car to the dealer this morning 3/23/2021 and after 90 minutes they called me out to let me know what happened. apparently, if you hold the interval button down for 2-5 seconds it disengages the adaptive cruise control and the car is reverted to an older system that does not sense the spacing while on cruise control. i explained to them that i never had touched the interval button prior to the car reverting to this older system and it went to it by itself. if i remember correctly it went to this system while in motion by itself and only since i had the updated system installed due to the recall. if i hadn't been paying attention i would have rear ended the car in frontof me.

Automatic sensor braking comes on while driving, there are no other cars around or object. while driving the brakes come on and the warning light on the dashboard, there are no cars in front of me or to the side. the car jerks as the brakes are automatically applied, while my foot is on the gas pedal. then the brake is released, the whole event takes seconds. in fact it has happened when there has been no cars in sight. it has happened mostly on local roads going 45-50 miles, but has occured on a highway going around 65 mph. purchased car in 2018, starting happening in 2019 and continues untill today. when i told honda service, they said maybe the sensor for the braking system was dirty. i am concerned an accident will happen, if the brakes go on and there is no car in front but a car in back, its unsafe.

The rear brake are completely worn out at 38k miles and the front pads are fine. dont understand whybthe rear would wear out faster than the front. there was sever damage done to the rear rotator a d had to get replaced.

Driving southbound on 101 south on sunny clear day 65 degrees with almost full fuel tank and 2 battery bars (almost empty) and climbing up incline on 7 degree grade and check engine light went on and lost all power and car completely slowed down to a stop (luckily was able to pull over with no problem).

I was driving on the highway at about 65 miles/hour when i began to hear a hissing sound coming from the left most air vent. within seconds, a strong electrical or burning rubber smell began to fill the cabin. the hissing sound eventually subsided. shortly thereafter, white smoke began to come through the air vents. the smoke lasted for about 45-60 seconds. first thing the next morning, i took the vehicle to my local honda dealer to have the issue fixed under warranty. they had the vehicle for 4 working days but could not find anything wrong with it, and instructed me to bring the vehicle back to them if it happens again. they did say that the car had a code for a "fault in the blower motor circuit", but said that that was probably nothing to worry about. as of march 4th 2021, this issue has not reappeared since the initial occurrence.

2018 honda accord- purchase car in sept 2018, in november 2019 inching forward to see clearly to make a left turn, oncoming car to my right, stepped on the brakes and nothing, no brakes and lots of warnings on the dash. panicked but was able to steer the car out of harms way and push ignition to stop. happened again in december 2019, same scenario as above. honda repaired brake booster. occurred again in september 2020 at freeway speeds, changing lanes about to exit freeway in rush hour traffic, honda replaced brake booster. occurred again february 2021 on the streets. car currently at honda. fluid leaking into the brake master cylinder. honda about to replace brake booster and what they call a collector. no confidence in this car. honda will not consider a buy back.

2018 honda accord sedan 2.0 turbo sport. 47,000 miles on odometer. fuel is mixing with engine oil under normal driving conditions. currently 5k into last oil change and there is a strong odor of gasoline present on the engine oil dipstick along with an odor of gasoline inside the vehicle especially when the defroster or heat is turned on.

I was backing the vehicle slowly in front of my house and it was accelerate all of sudden. there was a curb on the back, but it went over and hit the tree. it was out of control

2018 honda accord hybrid touring - loud humming noise while cruising at 52mph. read google and you'll find many others have similar issues but no known resolve. have been repeatedly able to reproduce and it can be obnoxious at times but of course honda denies any knowledge of the issue and claims they are unable to reproduce.

The clear coat on the hood and on the trim just below the hood is beginning to peel. as a result the paint is also beginning to chip.

I was coming to a stop sign signal left and i was pressing the brake lightly to come to complete stop and the was a car turn into my street the opposite lane though and he turned my car slam stop unexpectedly causing my passi g to jerk and i hard strain our necks! whip lash over nothing so dangerous! also one time entering the highway i slow or was coming to a stop for nothing! swnsor is off!

Replaced rear brake pads 11-8-2019 at 32,223 miles. replaced rear brake pads and rotors 2-3-2021 at 56,679 miles. they have a problem again. they had the same problem with the 2009 accords.

At highway speeds, 55 mph or faster, on several occasions the steering becomes difficult to hold the car in a straight line. the steering becomes harder than normal to initiate a turn of the steering wheel. after applying more pressure than normal, the steering wheel will suddenly move causing a larger than desired steering correction. because of the extra-large steering correction another correction will be needed in the other direction, but the steering resist turning in the other direction until extra force is applied to the steering wheel, then the steering wheel will suddenly move and cause an overcorrection in the other direction. this problem has only happened after driving the car for more than an hour, usually after 3 hours. the steering problem can still be present after stopping at a rest area and turning the car off, but when the problem does finally go away it is always after the car has been turned off. the problem when present does not always cause the same resistance to turning the steering wheel. sometimes the problem is slight and others it is very severe to the point where it is very difficult to keep the car in the lane using 2 hands there are 19 complaints on the nhtsa website for the same problem with the 2018 honda accord. feb of 2020 flow honda of winston-salem replaced the rack and pinion and i didn't have any further problem until recently when on a trip from nc to fl when the steering problem reappeared. after stopping at a rest area for a 15 min. stop the steering problem was gone. this was the first occurrence of the problem since the rack and pinion was replaced. on the nhtsa website there are 2 people who complain that their steering problem reappeared after the rack and pinion had been replaced. on feb. 8, 2021 i returned the accord to flow honda of w-s for the 4th time and was told there was nothing they could do.

Problems with the front windows having issues with winding up or down and even moving out of chanel. problems with the accs,lks due to malfunctioning camera which i had to replace however the dealer in jamaica will not reprogramme

This is a leased 2018 honda accord, the vehicle has 8000 miles on it. the safety problem on this vehicle is that the electric system has shorted 5 batteries and has left me stranded in various locations, lending to unsafe conditions. the honda dealer has replaced 5 batteries on my vehicle and now my car has broken-down again making it six shorted batteries on a vehicle that barely has 8k miles. when i talked to kyle lampp, assistant service manager at brandon honda, he stated honda corp. knows about the electric problems and they are unwilling to address it because of cost. below are the dates of service repairs with included invoice numbers: 8/21/19 service# 514010 11/13/19 service# 531130 1/22/20 service# 544284 8/16/20 service#578092 11/19/20 service# 594896

When i went to the honda dealer in 2019 to change my oil, they have said that my rear brake pads need to be replaced even though i have had the vehicle for a couple of months. it was very bizarre to me as the car is fwd and the engine is in the front, thus making more stress on the front brake pads instead of the rear brake pads. other honda accord 2018-2020 owners have complained of this same issue and i hope it can be resolved as it seems that the rear brake pads wear off too fast. the car was stationary at the time of notice.

Car intermittently flashes all the cmbs lights and applies break on its own without any vehicle in front of the car. honda dealership charged to diagnose a replace break switch. problem still persist. countless others are having same issue and reporting online forums and youtube. i almost got rearended multiple times due to this. also when these lights come acive, drl sometimes do not work and reverse camera do not work. first happened june 2020(after issue, it allows the car to start without pressing break pedal), continues to happen often. disconnecting the battery and reconnecting removes the issue for sometime then comes back few days to weeks/months later.

Electronic steering rack part has a manufacturing fault that causes the steering wheel to lock up and then oversteer, especially at highway speeds, causing vehicle to leave the lane and a massive safety issue. manufacturer has not done anything yet to recall the cars to fix the issue despite this problem existing in multiple versions of this electronic steering column. part number 53600-tva-a18 has been replaced by multiple new models of this part but have not acknowledge the production issue with the part to recall the cars and pay for the repairs. the steering column models have been through multiple revisions but honda has not recalled the older models, 53620-tvc-a67, 53620-tvc-a68, 53600-tva-a19, 53620-tva-a28, 53620-tvc-a64, 53620-twa-a28, 53620-tvc-a64.

The honda infotainment system would freeze and crash while the vehicle is in operation. the infotainment system is used as a navigation system, radio, backup camera and sets various settings for the car. when this defective infotainment system crashes, it causes the driver to think something bad is happening to the car and driver will be very distracted.

Front brakes and rotors had to be replaced because they warped really early. back brakes and rotors had to be replaced also because of noise sounding like scrapping.

Very loud roaring noise when driving about 52-54mph (and intermittently at other speeds). this not engine noise, but seems to a glitch in the automatic noise cancelling system that causes a feedback loop resulting in an alarming roaring sound that can cause driver to panic or otherwise be distracted from driving safely.

Driving on i-65 at 70mph (my cruise was set along with acc and lkas). system worked with no issues for ~200 miles. when this happened, the car in front of me slowed down, and my car started slowing down as well. out of the blue, as i got closer, i got this error in my dash, collision mitigation braking system problem see your dealer. it took a second for me to realize that my car was no longer slowing down. fortunately i still had enough distance to press on my brakes before hitting the back of the car in front of me.

20,000 miles front struts are bad,50,000 miles fuel injectors went out. 80,000 egr, emissions and loss of power. on a high end touring, clear coat came off rims, radio and hud is sporadic radio turns off and on when driving, all when driving on interstate,

Rear brake pads are wearing out way faster than the front. seems it is some type of manufacturing defect. i found out many other owners of this model have the same issue and was informed if enough people file this complaint, they may offer a remedy or recall to correct this issue.

The ads breaking error comes on and the car won’t start- this is the 3rd time and is a constant problem for this year- the steering wheel locks up this is very dangerous. this has happened moving and stationary. honda says it is a simple error my car has less that 30k miles n this is a constant issue

A few months after buying the 2018 accord, honda had to put a software update, which they claimed was going to address and issue with the back-up camera (which always seemed to work fine, at least on my car). shortly after the update, the infotainment unit had started to randomly (and rather frequently) reset itself every few day. honda (after some trips to the dealer and several attempts to reach out to the honda of america hq) had failed to acknowledge the issue and, eventually, begrudgingly had admitted to the problem; however, they had failed to produce a fix for months. my vehicle still does not have a fix applied and keeps having resets. i have spoken with a 2018 honda odyssey (which uses the same system), who finally gave up and got rid of the vehicle due to the number of recalls (and, to some extent, very poor handling of the issues by honda dealer(s) and honda), but they had to have their unit physically replaced. supposedly, there now a recall, but you have to take the vehicle to the dealer (surprise, not). as it stands, honda may have used a piece of hw which has a built-in failure (this could be more insidious than just a sw fix) and is refusing to address it in hundreds of thousands of vehicles. why can’t this be done via a “simple” sw update the way 21st century car-makers do? or is honda simply hiding an inevitable failure via sw update? on the noted date, this was yet another reset of the unit. the vehicle now has about 27,500 miles, but has exhibited this behavior for thousands of miles/over a year.

July 2020, adaptive cruise control (acc) system de-active while i was driving at approx 65mph.received dash board message “collision mitigation braking system problem. see your dealer” . warning went away after restarting vehicle.dealership could not replicate warning. nov 2020 acc system again failed, three times, similar circumstances, highway 65-70 mph, restarting again cleared warning. when system fails the cruise control element turns of, and cannot be reactivated. also, car slows down quickly, because set speed is not maintained.( potential rear end collision situation) car was purchased new in nov 2018, not problem detected until early july 2020. problem has not been resolved as of jan 2021.

It seems that my remote starter is causing errors. occasionally when i use it during cold weather. i try to start remotely and it starts for a second and then cuts off. i get in and notice several maintenance alarms telling me to see a dealer when i start the normal way. all safety features seem to be disabled but still driveable.the only way to erase these codes is to disconnect the battery. then i can go several times with out it happening again. i took to dealers and they found no issues, i told them to just replace the battery, even though that wasnt recommended. i thought it helped, but then the issued occurred again a week later. it is scheduled to be look at by the honda dealership.

The vehicle's safety system (not sure if it's the camera mounted behind the windshield or something else) will periodically interpret a road speed sign as showing 100mph speed limit. this has happened before and will have happened again (i am filing this complaint after some time has passed). as with a number of other issue with the 2018+ honda models, honda's response has been "take it to the dealer" while the dealer's mechanic drives the car for an hour, does not see the issue and then claims that nothing is wrong with the vehicle. a picture is attached.

The car had a strong smell of fuel in cabin when starting on various occassions. the car also temporarily stalled and lost power when coming to a corner turning and also three times when coming off the freeway. the car was always warmed up and in california during the warm weather. dealer noted fuel smell in oil and increased oil level. had oil changed and was told a fix was coming soon. took car in to dealer months later for a recall, a bcm recall and again i told them that the oil smelled of fuel after 500 miles since oil change. waiting for manager to call me back with update on fix. it is a 2018 honda accord 1.5 litr turbo. 26,000 miles on motor. i bought the car from the dealer in january 2020.

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda accord. the contact stated that while driving, several unknown warning lights illuminated. the vehicle was taken to hendrick honda bradenton (5515 14th st w, bradenton, fl 34207) and was not able to be diagnosed due to the warning lights no longer being illuminated. the contact also stated that she had replaced the battery. on another occasion while driving, the brakes independently activated without warning. the failure occurred numerous times. the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer however, the mechanic was not able to retrieve a failure code. the contact also stated that while driving, the vehicle failed to exceed 20 mph. the vehicle was towed back to the same dealer. the dealer called the contact and the contact explained the failure. the dealer informed the contact that fuel injection needed to be replaced and that the vehicle was over 36,000 miles and was not covered under warranty. an estimate for the repair was provided. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and negotiated a price for the repair. the failure mileage was approximately 43,000. the vin was not available.

All lights in my dash came on, brake, engine, steering, collision, acceleration. i took it in to priority honda and was told it was cracked spark plugs and it was fixed. i paid $260. six days later same thing. same dealership looked at it. said it was fix, sent me on my way, but told me they would replace spark plug cover. same issue happened again. now back in the shop for a 4th time. was told i had bad fuel injectors. cost $1700, but i would have to pay $200 deductible. probably is my car was brand new when purchased and i'm under 5yr, 60,000 mile warranty. so why am i paying anything if it is a powertrain failure and i'm under warranty. please help. these incidents happen as soon as i started my car, and i took it straight to the dealership when it did. the last incident was december 5, 2020. before that was twice in november but i would have to verify exact date based on when i took it to the dealership. this is the only place i service my car, and the customer service has been subpar. i couldn't even get a complimentary rental unless i paid out of pocket.

I was following my wife’s car on the expressway. her speed was 55 mph. i had the adaptive cruise control (acc) on my vehicle set for 70 mph, so naturally i was only “pacing” her at her slower speed, about four car-lengths back. suddenly, my car accelerated rapidly toward my wife’s car in front of me. i had to hit the brakes to avoid a collision. at that moment, a warning appeared on the instrument panel stating that radar obstructed. but even then, i was able to recreate the same scenario four more times before turning off acc for the rest of the trip. i also noticed that while the car was surging forward, the instrument panel indicated that there was no car in front of me, even though there clearly was. it was almost as if my car “couldn’t see” and decided to accelerate anyway. the system should have failed in a safe manner, but it clearly did not.

A loud humming noise comes out of the speaker and i believe i’ve identified as being the automatic noise canceling system. it’s malfunctioning to the point that i have to open a window slightly to get it to turn off. i feel like it’s at such a decibel that i’m having hearing loss from it.

My car passenger side tail gate trunk led light damaged.

Airbag warning sign comes and disappears randomly. attached is the warning sign. there are other accords that showed recall for airbags. i think my car is also in the category. the issue has been happening for over a month. light appears both while stopped and in motion, randomly and stays for so long the car is on and the disappears when restarted the car.

The 2018 honda accord hybrid's active noise canceling (anc) system is flawed. the car howls, roars and can even produce a loud boom at certain conditions (ie. light acceleration, engine rpms ~2250, colder temps (<50degf), starting @ 30+mph but worst is @ ~52mph). i took the car into my local honda dealer who confirmed the problem. however, after they checked the internal car microphones were ok (per a honda service bulletin test, ...so honda america knows there is a problem), they stopped work and told me honda corporate won't let them replace the anc, because apparently the technician's audio recording of the problem in my car wasn't sufficiently adequate. note: i find this problem is repeatedly discussed on the various 2018-20 honda accord hybrid forums with many frustrated owners. like many on the forums, i asked (and paid for) the honda technician to disconnect the anc. while the low speed road noise is much higher, the roar, howling and obnoxious boom is gone. it sure would be nice to get my quiet car back someday. can nhsta help? note: if needed, i can upload the honda dealer service documents wrt above, please advise, thanks

Rear speakers continue to make horrible scratchy sound when driving and using audio. speakers have already been and problem still continues. vehicle was stationary, in motion, on a city street or a highway, turning, braking, etc.

When the car is switched on and started driving, randomly the yellow passenger airbag light on the center dashboard would start blinking. blinks with a 5 second gap almost. and randomly after that happens, i get the are airbag light on my dash saying "suppliment system restraint problem. see your dealer". in order to reset this, i have to switch off the car, wait for a few minutes and start again. sometimes this issue would come right away after starting the car, sometime not for days. reading the code, it's gave the following code b00d5-14.

2 issues that i am having is that when i press the brake pedal the radio goes crazy ( interference). dealer notified and apparently can not find anything wrong so no fix for it yet. the other issue is with cmbs it failed 2wice in the past 3 days. conditions of the road were good, ( no snow, no rain) and the traffic was not heavy. both times the system fails to operate mid cruse and shuts off. the only way to get it to work is by restarting the car but this is not an option driving on a highway.

Car will apply brakes for no reason,, was driving at high speeds with nothing in front of me and brakes will apply on the highway and car would stop.

The cmbs (collision mitigation braking system) had another failure. this is due to the radar sensor being blocked and then other safety systems in the vehicle having cascading failures. last winter, the radar sensor had failed catastrophically and i had to take the vehicle in to the dealer where they, supposedly, performed some sort of an adjustment. during a phone call with a honda representative, the representative claimed that "this would never happen again." however, what happens now is i get an error message claiming that there is a failure in the cmbs system, every time the radar sensor is blocked, directing me to "take the vehicle to the dealer." hence, she lied. furthermore, the failures indicate honda's failure in producing a safety system that is reliable in a wide range of weather conditions. honda ceo recently claimed that honda will be producing level 3 autonomous vehicles. that is horrifying, considering honda can't even make a cmbs and a radar sensor that does not fail constantly. please, please, please make honda recall all the models which use the radar sensor and the cmbs that is similar to the one in the 2018 accord before someone gets really hurt. please.

While driving in the highway at night, the vehicle warns potential collision and tries to brake automatically. when i step on the brake and push a little, the warning goes away. this is especially dangerous because at 50 or 60 mph the car warns and tries to brake hard. god knows when the car brakes one day really hard and causes accident for a faulty sensor. there's always nothing ahead when the emergency brake warning comes. when the warning comes, there's always absolutely nothing ahead, simply empty road ahead. this issue has been happening for over a year.

Driving down the highway going 70mph and check engine light starts flashing. car stops accelerating i limp over to the median. i turn the vehicle off and turn it back on. the car has a solid check engine on along with all the assisting lights on. the car accelerates like normal and when i get home i disconnect the battery and everything clears once i reconnect. in another instance i go to turn my car on the check engine light stays on but the vehicle won’t go past 1500 rpms and it’s basically in limp mode with the check engine light on again to go along with road departure system, vehicle stability system, tire pressure monitoring, brake system, electric power steering, hill start assist, adaptive cruise control , collision mitigation and emission system warnings all light up. i did the same thing disconnect the battery and again they all go away. this has been going on for a month. at least 9 times where all the warning lights come on along with the check engine light. once when i’m traveling as explained and 2 times where it goes into limp mode from the start. took vehicle to a friend and got a p0303 cylinder 3 misfire. having done research of the code noticed that 2012-2018 honda’s have had similar issues addressed by a bulletin and extended the warranty for those vehicles. my car has 70k and it’s currently out of the warranty period. thank you.

Passenger rear brake pad on caliper side is worn to wear indicator. all other pads front and rear are normal. caliper appears to be faulty as it was locked into position against rotor and only that pad was worn

In december 2019, my car air conditioner was making an unusal noise when being turned on. i took the car to the dealer and the technician there said that the air condenser was leaking. he added that it would be a >$1000 charge to fix this issue. at that time, because the weather was not too hot, the air conditioner was not a big issue so i did not fix it then. however, in june 2020, the air conditioner was blowing warm air and it was a hot summer so i had to pay >$1000 to fix it by the dealer. i saw the recall for honda civic model of the same year being claimed for the same issue so i talked to the manufacturer, but they were saying that the recall does not apply to honda accord models. however, my brother, who has the same model of the same year, had the same issue so he had to fix the problem as well. i also have seen several similar cases with the air conditioner of the same model manufactured in the same year. i believe, just like the civic models, a thorough investigation needs to be performed about this issue. if you google "honda accord air conditioner', it is not difficult to find the issue. i hope my appeal prevents any unfortunate, unexpected and still unfair cost to the vehicle owners. this is an air conditioning problem so in summer this could be a safety issue. please investigate this issue thoroughly. - owner of 2018 honda accord

The brake rotors corrode prematurely. the vehicle was purchased in january 2018 and the rotors were replaced in november 2019 with 18,000 miles of use. the replacement rotors - genuine honda installed by dealer - are corroding and will need to be replaced. mileage is now 23,000. the vehicle is kept in a garage.

On two occasions when parked and in accessory mode for a few minutes all dashboard and exterior lights began flashing wildly and brake system failure warning appeared. on both occasions the engine would not start. after exiting the car and returning later, the car started as normal.

The seals around the doors, weather stripping is coming lose, seats are falling apart, the radio and navigation screen will go black and reboot itself. the collision control system will get you killed if you’re not careful. i was getting onto the highway from a traffic light, had my turn signal on. as i’m merging onto the highway going about 50 mph, the car thinks i’ve fallen asleep or something. the car forcibly takes me back into the right lane and downshifts the car while braking? scared me to death. i was told it was because i didn’t have a turn signal on. luckily it was 3am or i could’ve been smashed. also, the brake light will flash at times, no one is in front of you. or it flashes like you’re about to hit someone but doesn’t do anything but flash. also, if you drive any length, it system will state that the driver has low attention span. not sure why, it’s not like i’m weaving. i think the car needs to feel some movement of the steering or it thinks you’re nodding off. the car salesman warned me that the new bells and whistles, technology, could have issues because the tech is new but nothing specific. try to sell me 3800 in warranty to cover tech. thought it was strange at the time. now, i’m thinking that he knew specifics and didn’t share.

Intermittenly (i.e. every so many hundreds of miles), the vehicle has extremely violent shifts at low speeds (2-20 miles), where upon shifts it almost feels as if the vehicle has been re-ended. honda has not properly investigated issue as their usual m.o. is to send the customer to the dealer where the vehicle is driven for a couple of hours for "troubleshooting" which, of course, is not sufficient time-span for the issue to manifest itself. as with a number of other issues in the 2016-2020 honda models, honda has not properly investigated this issue and it is another potential foreshadowing of a mass failure just as honda had with the automatic transmission in the 2000-2017 time span. and it would seem that honda is up to their ways again, when it comes to the automatic transmissions: https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2020/honda-odyssey-transmission-problems-cause-lawsuit.shtml in their other models.

When driving approximately 50 mph on a city street using adaptive cruise control, my adaptive cruise control turned off suddenly. there are no obstructions to my honda sensors nor were there any inclement weather conditions.

On 10/29/2020, while changing lanes, the vehicle abruptly cut the power and slammed the brakes, while flashing "brake" on the instrument panel. there were no vehicle in close proximity in the lane in to which the change was performed. the radar sensor on the vehicle has previously cause a number of issues and this was an extreme case of the cmbs (collision mitigation brake system) reacting improperly. the vehicle deceleration was abrupt to the point of potentially causing the incoming traffic in the new lane impacting the vehicle from behind. honda's representatives had sworn last winter, when the radar sensor had malfunctioned to the point of causing a catastrophic failure that cascaded to several of the vehicle's safety systems that "issues would not happen again." that was a lie. currently, there is a class action lawsuit against honda related to the safety system in the cr-v models: https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2020/honda-cr-v-sensing-lawsuit-suvs-suddenly-stop.shtml considering that the similar radar sensors are used in the pilot, odyssey, accord and the cr-vs, an investigation and a recall should be launched for the majority of honda model produced since 2016. again, the system has malfunctioned a number of times, with honda failing to address the issue properly upon several complaints and visits to a dealer.

Engine knocks and hesitates when accelerating especially uphill. ocean honda in north hollywood, california has checked, did drive tests and kept my car for 2 weeks and assured me the knocking and hesitation were gone. they even insisted they did not encounter any knocking nor hesitation when accelerating and driving uphill. it always does both and never went away.

Purchased in may 2019. currently < 50,000 miles. all service performed at honda dealership. several weeks ago began to notice gasoline smell in the cabin while driving. didn't think much of it, though it was coming from the outside/other vehicles. check engine light came on last week. took the vehicle to the dealership for service, was told the fuel injector needs to be replaced, cylinder 3 issue. last resort was to do a fuel injector cleaning service, had that done. two days later, while driving 70 mph on the highway, the vehicle would no longer accelerate. immediately pulled over without incident but could have been very bad. i am not convinced the fuel pump problems that required a recall for many 2018 accords with 2.0t engines are not also impacting 1.5t engines.

I have changed two batteries since i bought it first battery that it came with completely died and couldn't even get a jump. changed it and now i have to keep getting jump everyday. my windshield has also cracked twice from passenger side to driver side. no puncture mark indicating something hit it.

For second time all safety warning lights appeared after starting engine including brake warning light. this occurred once before and took to dealer for a reset.

A few months i started have a problem withe the my car .i let my car for short time like less than one hour with the emergency lights on ..but the engine was off (the car was stationary). so when i was about to leave from the place where i were i star the engine and it didn't work and all the light go on like crazy and 3 message showed on the screen that said it was safety to drive and there's a problem with the break system problem , anti-break system problem and tire pressure monitor system. so i called the dealer and they told me that maybe it was something wrong with the battery so they told to turn off and turn the engine on again and they told me that he drives it for a certain time and all the lights on the dash go out and since maybe it was because of the high temperatures we had. but it was like that i mean the car is still running "good" but i'm not fell safety .i already took the the dealer where i bought and first time they didn't do anything because all the light go out so they said they didn't found anything so the second time the happened the same thing i recorded a video and photos so i show them an the way the star doing a full check of everything so they didn't found any thing and still appears those 3 message a when i star the engine not all the time but they didn't fixed anything and they don't want to change for r another car ..i dont know what to do

Inside of car started rusting told dealership starting in feb 2020 just know checking car are trying to say that we submerged car in water and they won't do anything about it they said it's unsafe to drive

I bought the car in february 2019, brand new. in july 2020 i noticed the paint peeling chipping. i contacted the dealer on 7/14/20, 7/29/20, 8/12/20. was repeatedly blown off and was told they were contacting honda of america. honda claims that tree sap caused the paint to peel but the independent body shop i brought it to said that there would be other spots of tree sap and that the tree sap would be very difficult to remove from the car. they specifically stated that this is a bold faced lie. i filed a complaint with honda of america and received a voicemail on 10/7/2020 stating that they were looking into it. i received another voicemail on 10/21/2020 stating that they were standing by the original honda of america representative that the issue was caused by tree sap. the body shop, geist towing and recovery, stated that it is most likely a manufacturing defect and that since honda is lying about the actual cause that they would recommend stripping the entire car and repainting. if they were honest only the sun facing surfaces may require repair.

Car lost complete engine power and was in traffic, in motion and luckily could coast into parking lot. honda is claiming a modified ecu and is disputing warranty. i have owned car since new and have never modified anything on the car. the car has been properly maintained by me and only has 48,914 miles on the vehicle. a honda dealer diagnosed it so far as having a broken spark plug tip and the piston is not moving up and down -cylinder 1.

At 49,000 miles i’m on my second set of tires and needing a new set. my serviceman recommended i add a camber kit to my car in the rear (rear wheels) or i’ll have to keep replacing my tires. this is getting very expensive. i have my tires checked and rotated every oil change.

Low tire warning light comes on when your tires aren’t low. have seen several complaints online about the same thing. believe this is dangerous as a person driving on a interstate could ignore the light believing the reading of low tire is false when in reality it may not. tire goes flat at high speeds or blow out could cause a major accident. have contacted the dealer and they said they are aware but cannot do anything. also said the result of the warning could be weather or road conditions. our vehicle is under warranty with 30,800 miles. there are sending units for each tire. if this has been a problem with honda’s then why are they allowed to,keep producing this defect. light comes on often and it is very aggravating to keep checking the air in our tires every couple of days. it has happened several days as i took it to a tire dealer and they found there was proper air in the tires on 10/26/2020. it doesn’t make any difference if the vehicle is moving or stopped.

This is the third time driving and had the vehicle automatic brakes come on and stop it self. each time 1 month apart. august 24th 2020 took into mislin honda in modesto because rear brakes were also making noise. found out right rear inner pad was completely worn. mentioned also the auto breaking issue and was told it was a due to the known brake caliper issue. caliper and brake pad were replaced and was told sensors were reset and should fix auto braking problem. returned a month later because of rear brake noise again was told brakes were lubed and rotors resurfaced. tonight again while driving going 40mph no cars in sight vehicle brake message came on and brakes slammed on causing our dog to go flying inside of car. car is at 35950 miles 2018 and close to being out of warranty feels very unsafe to drive

2018 honda accord hybrid touring purchased 9/25/20 with 44k miles. within the 2 weeks i've owned this car i have already noticed two large issues. the first and most disheartening is the terribly reduced gas mileage compared to what it's rated for. i'm topping out in the low 30's when it's rated for 47mpg. the second issue is the loud humming noise while driving. a quick search online shows that many other owners also have both these issues.

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda accord. the contact stated that there was a stress fracture in the windshield that occurred without an impact to the windshield. the contact had the windshield replaced by crown honda of southpoint (1001 southpoint autopark blvd, durham, nc 27713; (984) 300-4924). the contact stated that five days after the windshield was replaced, the new windshield had a stress fracture as well. the contact contacted the same dealer, who inquired if the vehicle was being driven in sport mode at the time. the contact stated that the vehicle was in sport mode the time of the first incident however, the contact was unsure about the second incident. the windshield was not replaced. the contact stated that while pulling into the driveway at approximately 5 mph, he heard an abnormal cracking sound. the contact noticed that the windshield started to fracture from the passenger’s side of the windshield towards the middle of the windshield. there was no impact. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue and a case was filed. the failure mileage was 17,135.

After 3 months of new car ownership and appx 2000 miles when you hit 52 mph there's a loud roaring noise that abruptly stops. its louder in cold weather. same noise also happens at lower speed of appx 35 -49 mph but is muted. car has been into dealer 5 times for same issue ad honda hasn't been able to fix. noise happen on any road while in motion. 1st dealer check was in nov 2018. i filled complaint number: 11303013 but have never heard back from anyone. multiple honda hybrid owners have this problem.

The paint roof my2018 accord sport is peeling off

I’ve had my windshield replaced 2 times on my accord for cracks due to road debris hitting it in less than 3 years of ownership. i will have a 3rd replacement soon due to the same cracking / fragility of these windshields. these windshields are incredibly soft to the point that they pit rather easily from pebbles hitting at slow speeds. this is dangerous and honda should offer a replacement on all 2018 accords with stronger glass. many online forums and social media channels with 10th gen accord owners complain of the same issue with the windshields. they are unsafe and causing undue insurance premium increases because of how soft the glass is.

I was driving the other night at 9pm. dry conditions and about 65 degrees outside. i had pulled up to a stop sign and as i came to a complete stop by car started sending me warning notices. see attached pictures. i was told i probably had bugs on one of the front sensors on the vehicle. after a good cleaning of thise areas this still didn't solve the issue. i bought this vehicle because honda is known for it's safety but that looks like it's not the case anymore.

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda accord. the contact stated that he was involved in two rear end collisions and on both occasions the auto brake activated however there was a piece on the center console that had become dislodged that trapped his foot on the accelerator pedal. as a result, the contact was unable to depress the brake pedal to bring the vehicle to a stop due to his foot being trapped on the accelerator pedal. there were no injuries reported. a police report was not filed. the vehicle was able to be driven from the scene. the dealer honda of downtown chicago (1111 n clark st ste 2, chicago, il 60610 (312) 766-1095) had the bumper, light and the onboard computer repaired both times. however, the issues recurred with the blind spot monitoring ,the backup camera and the parking sensor on the onboard computer malfunctioning after the vehicle was repaired . the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and all of those issues were fixed except the center console piece that keeps dislodging. the manufacturer said to take the vehicle back to the dealer to get the issue fixed. the console piece remains unfixed at this time. the failure mileage was 9,000.

The steering seems to have a notch or a flat spot in it while driving straight down the road and to correct it when you apply pressure to switch lanes you will oversteer the vehicle.

The cmbs, speed follow are not working when you drive 40miles in the freeway and it say always see your dealer and the seatbelt are very stiff

Most times when slowing down then hitting accelerator, to speed back up, the car "stutters" indicating it is being robbed of fuel. noticed honda has a recall in for fuel injectors, but my car is yet to be covered.

Every time i try to disengage the parking break it shows a warning that the brake systems is failing.

The vehicle shifts rough around 20-30 miles per hour. today when i left the grocery store and was driving slowly through the parking lot, it jerked about 4 times before it decided to drive smoothly. however, on occasion, it has shifted so hard that everything fell off my seat and one time i thought it was going to stall in the intersection when i had started up after waiting for a red light. i've had the car in for service a few times for this problem since it was purchased in may, 2018 and each time i am told nothing is wrong with the car and that is just how it runs. i've had two other hondas and loved them. i doubt this is the way honda intended this vehicle to run. for 2 1/2 years i have dealt with this problem. also, i contacted honda corporation directly. i received a case number and was told to take it to a different dealer for service. it was the same song and dance. today i was pricing what my car was worth and i noted that there was a recall on the fuel system. however, when i put in my vin, it says my car is not affected. for a moment there, i thought just maybe i could finally get this problem resolved. no such luck.

Was driving down the road after getting coffee with active cruise control on and a message popped up saying " collision mitigation system fault" please visit dealer", i've read that it can get bug juice on it and cause it to say that but i wiped mine off and it is still saying that after i restarted the car, have read from many car groups that this happens alot with these cars.

The screen frequently pops up the warning of tires, abs and other issues on the upper right corner. after inspection, everything is fine. it suspected as bugs for the system, but really misleading and impacted on the safety of the driving. the problem had existed for 1+ year without fix.

Paint is chipping and peeling on hood, roof, doors and door handles. car is parked in garage every night and in private parking space at work. never under a tree or exposed to anything out of the ordinary.

Fuel is leaking into engine oil. my mechanic said he can smell the fuel in the oil when changing oil. also the oil level increases when checking oil level over time. this occurs while car is in motion.

Rear rotor are totally worn out. just happen 7/31/2020, purchase jan 01/01/2028. honda accord sport 1.5t. 43k on. its very unusual this happen to a rear rotor and brakes .usually front first but yes this is just a note to all 20's honda to be aware of buying this type of car. please help every one so consumer are be protected to these ripoff. thank you be safe out there.

Ac compressor and clutch went out at 26k miles and was replaced on august 22 nine 2019and again at 53k miles. it was replaced by tameron honda in hoover alabama. it has been out since 53,000 miles and i have not had it replaced because i am disappointed in this part.

Evening before problem started it was a heavy rain in nyc. morning i started the car and was immediately received 4 messages: "lkas: lane keeping assist system problem. see your dealer.". "road departure mitigation system problem. see your dealer.", "blind spot information system problem. see your dealer.", "auto high beam problem. manual controls available. see your dealer.". turn signals did not work. hazard lights did not work. trunk release did not work. backup camera did not work. moved to dealer (25 minutes away). but did not start the service. after turning off and start the car again all displayed failures were gone. waiting for the next heavy rain.

2018 accord randomly and automatically brakes hard when no obvious hazard is around. the acc will turn off and error is displayed saying see your dealer. when the car is turned off it resets and acc is running again. i am getting very nervous driving this car on highways.

I recently financed a vehicle thru american finance corporation via vandergriff honda (1104 w i-20 ; arlington, texas 76017). shortly after purchase a recall repair was required for my vehicle. this work was done and completed on june 30th, 2020. i picked up the vehicle on july 1st, 2020 from the service center. on july 9th, 2020 the vehicle shuttered and stalled in a residential parking lot. i phoned honda roadside assistance giving my vehicle id and location,thereafter a tow truck arrived and towed to the vehicle to rusty wallis honda. i was contacted by lisa (service advisor) who informed that they had received my vehicle from overnight and that "they were able to start my vehicle". she also stated that if the issue turns out to be the battery, that vandergriff honda would be responsible since this purchase was within 30days. the next call i received i was informed that issue was not the battery, but rather a "gas issue". at that moment i informed her that the recall repair that was completed on june 30th was the "fuel pump motor".  with this information noted that since that was a recall repair( the fuel pump motor) that repair was under warranty and that they would update me on the continuing repair. i was contacted the next day by and informed me that a fuel injector rail part that was needed is being ordered, however because it was satuday that this part would not be in stock until tueday july 14, 2020.  on july 15th i called into the service department. upon speaking to a gentleman by the name of dylan who answered the telephone. dylan explained to me that my car was still disabled and that he would look into this matter (asking for a 30 -40 minutes for an update for me. this was 19 hours ago. i was reaching out to this agency to inquire of my options and rights that apply to this contract.

Most recently,i was dropping off a friend. with my car running and in park. the dash board lit up with many warnings lka,mitigation, the brake defective.(see dealer immediately) i could not drive the car. the next morning (sunday) back to normal. l monday morning i'm at the honda dealer, counting two other electrical problemsthis makes the third time they have told me they can not find codes or replicate the problem come get it. i told them i was tired of driving a dangerous and unreliable car. i bought for 40000.dec21,2017,it has223?? miles and g.m. offered me21800. for car(without taxes)

On at least 3 occasions while driving on a city street the the automatic brake system kicks on and will violently stop the car in the middle of the road. each time there has been no vehicle in front of me or even near me that would cause this to occur. additionally, each time i was not going any faster than 45-50 mile per hour. the last time this happened the car behind me nearly rear-ended me but avoided an accident by quickly shifting over to the next lane. this action of course caused a potential road rage exchange because the driver had no idea my car had malfunctioned.

There is an issue with the steering of the car which so far has only presented itself in winter when the temperatures are lower. it was first noticed in november of 2019 when the car had roughly 18,000 miles. the vehicle was leased to me as a new vehicle, and i am the only person who has spent appreciable time driving this vehicle. when driving at highway speeds of 55+ mph in cold weather, it requires higher than normal effort to move the steering wheel from its on-center position (such as to make minor corrections to maintain lane position). if enough effort is exerted, the steering wheel breaks free and then allows the car to be steered with normal effort until the wheel again remains on-center for a few seconds, at which point it becomes "sticky" again, requiring high effort to move. at this point it only occurs at the conditions described above, but my concern is this could be a significant safety issue should the effort become any higher, requiring such force to move the wheel that the result will be to swerve out of one's lane when it breaks free, or even locking on center altogether, making the car uncontrollable by the driver. it should be noted that i do not believe this is a purely mechanical issue (e.g. an issue with the steering rack) because turning the ignition off returns the steering to normal effort and the "sticking" is resolved. it should also be noted that there are several nhtsa complaints i have found in internet searches that describe precisely the same issue. i have reported it today, 7/23/2020, to the dealer from which i purchased the car - tom kadlec honda in rochester, mn - as i would like to resolve the issue before cold temperatures return.

While driving noticed ac blowing hot air. took it to a mechanic, issue: condenser leaking freon. no obvious damage that could have caused it. advised to call dealership as they had a recall on 2016 hondas for the same issue. called the dealership and was told i probably hit something that punctured it. this is not the case. apparently the freon leaking is flammable. if other vehicles from honda were recalled this could likely be the same issue. this should not be happening on a 2018 model.

Rear breaks wear out only after 14,000 miles. purchased car brand new and rear breaks did not last more than 14,000 miles. i am very gentle driver and expect to rear breaks to last at least 24,000 or more.

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda accord. the contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the sunroof exploded without warning or impact. the vehicle was taken to grainger honda (1596 chatham pkwy, savannah, ga 31408) to be inspected. there was no cause for the failure reported. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 27,000.

Ac condenser leaking new type of refrigerant (1234yf) which apparently is flammable. honda service rep says condenser was "probably" punctured by a foreign object from the road. however, honda has recognized defective condensers leaking refrigerant in 2018 civics and has extended the warranties for 10 years for these and other model years. i suspect that my accord condenser was manufactured with the same or similar defect. i purchased my accord in spring of 2018 at a time when not many were being sold, which may explain why this is not yet a recognized defect. i have also been commuting, until recently, long distances for over 20 years and have never experienced any kind of ac problem or had a foreign object puncture an ac condenser. in any event, as i understand the new refrigerant is flammable, so if this is another manufacturing defect then it should be investigated.

While driving down the highway my car just brakes. it doesn't come to a complete stop but it is dangerous. if i don't put on my turn signal before i start to change lanes it will brake. it doesn't do it all the time but it has started doing it more frequently.

When i slow down my hybrid 2018 honda accord using the regenerative braking pedals i realized the car slows down enough that the following needs to be warned by brake lights coming on. the current design of the car the brake lights don't come on with regenerative braking and this can cause rear end collision. *tr

So this vehicle is extremely dangerous with the crash mitigation system turned on. sometimes the vehicle will trigger the system with a false positive crash detection and will emergency brake for you and cut the gas so you won't be able to accelerate. however, i have had a few false positives. the first 2 times was a complete horror story. i was driving in a high-speed environment, while a truck was merging on to the freeway, i was supposed to accelerate past him and all of a sudden it beeped and halt to a complete stop on the freeway. luckily the semi evaded me and i regain control and speed out of the way. 2nd time was almost rear-ended by another semi, i was lucky that people got out of the way for the truck to clear me. the 3rd time occurred just last week on thursday. there was a car 5 car distance from me, left of me has a row of cars making a left, facing the opposite direction. well, somehow it decided to go ape[xxx] and caused me to get rear-ended by another car. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *cc *tr

Paint is peeling on the front bumper, trunk, hood, and door handles. paint appears to be corroding on the door handle and rubs off even more when touched. the problem began with the door handles in 2019 and has now spreaded to other areas of the car. the vehicle was stationary, parked at my home when i noticed the issue. both in 2019 and on today, 6/19/2020. *tr

This is in regards to nhtsa recall 18v-629/mfr id v2f (rear camera). after being "repaired" once under this recall, the rear camera failed a second time! the service department at the dealership diagnosed it as the same problem. when they learned that i had already had it repaired once (by them), they contacted american honda. honda then required me to pay for a brand new camera for my 2018 accord which was less than 2 years old. *tr

Auto brake system activated in the middle of an intersection. no cars, no bikes around. it simply stopped in the intersection. *tr

There are numerous factory paint defects including on the rear door, truck lid, and roof. the paint quality is very poor. i have brought the car to the dealer and have contacted honda of north america, they are both unresponsive to my demands to make repairs. this should be covered under the 3-year bumper to bumper warranty. *tr

During a 400 mile highway road trip in november 2019 my 2018 accord steering started to stick. it feels like you have to break a hitch to keep the vehicle in the center of the road. twice i took it to the dealer but because the problem could not be duplicated nothing was done. most of the complaints i read this problem occurs during long trips, so unless the tech takes the vehicle on a trip the problem will not be duplicated. maybe the vehicle or a component on the vehicle has to reach a certain temperature for the issue to show. turning off features i purchased on the car is not a fix!!! this issue took the joy out of owning this car. i want a replacement on honda'a dime!!!!!

The tachometer goes completely out and won't cycle back on without leaving the car off for a great deal of time. most of the time this happens when you remote start the car using the key fob or the app.

The problems with vehicle started three months after purchasing it in november 2018. i have four documented cases with the dealership. as well as 7 videos of the incident taken place while the car is in motion. the tachometer and entire dashboard, including entertainment center, shuts off while driving. this is a big safety issue especially while using the gps. the system reboots itself while the car is in motion. honda corporate is aware of the issue and had not provided a fix for the issue to date, despite representations that such fixes would be available by fall of last year. i also have voicemail from the service and parts director of the dealership admitting fault and no fixes for the problem. i have additional evidence i can share. for "when did this happen?", i have put the approximate last time this issue arose. the problem is ongoing and has been since i bought the car in november 2018. please note that my pdf files cannot go below 6mb, so i need to submit that to you some other way when you contact me. thank you for your time. *tr

500 mile trip on the interstate, steering is again (third time now) feeling sticky or like it gets stuck when making small corrections at highway speeds. steering rack was replaced once, since the problem for a few months but it is back again.

While driving on any type of roadway, when changing gears from 1st to 2nd the gears grind and sometimes will not go into gear, though the clutch pedal is fully depressed.

The paint is coming off in spots and is showing rust. it’s always been kept in the garage and cleaned regularly. the spots are on the back trunk, back bumper, sides by the back doors, by the wheel wells in front and back.

Only the rear brake pads have completely depleted without any of the other ones being close to depleting. rotor is now grinding on metal backing plate of pad. car has been in normal use for 70,000 mi.

Sometimes at highway speeds the car will stall momentarily, jolting me until it recovers and normal speed is resumed. recovery is a few seconds but the stall is significant.

It does it own braking at night when its getting dark or when .im going through a green light stopplng me from a speed of 45 to down to 20-25 in a splint second almost getting me rear -ended the dash board will light up brake -brake in red an car shakes its happend 3 times maybe more took it to dealership they found nothing wrong went on car complaint site an theres tons of people having this same problem im only leasing this car im finding its more of a deathtrap

After filling the fuel tank, a strong odor of gasoline was smelled in the car. the car was taken to the local honda dealer and after 5 days they still haven’t found the cause of the problem. they have attempted to deodorize the car each day and ventilate it using fans but i don’t know if the fuel system has been checked.

Accord accelerates to surge at random - it happened 4 times. two times when we were driving on the freeway, one time on the street, and one time was when we were stopped at a red light! we had to brake very, very hard, and use our emergency brake! we are lucky that no one was in the cross-walk when this occurred. as you see in the attached receipt, the problem is the tape used when our accord was built. the dealer said that this is happening once per month at their location where cars are brought in with the same problem. the dealer told me that the wires are faulty because rodents are attracted to chew on the cars wires specifically. when we called honda customer service about this issue. the customer service representative said that honda is aware of this issue, and has made rat tape to address it, but that honda is waiting to hit a certain number numbers of complaints so that it is enough to meet its threshold before issuing a full recall.

Car on a straight road, no adverse weather conditions. the collision mitigation braking systems shuts down. this has occurred during both day and night time and has happened six times. the radar panel was not obstructed. the cmbs can only be reset by stopping and restarting the car. i have contacted the manufacturer's customer support with no resolution. i have contacted at least two dealer service centers with this problem, no resolution. they say they need to see the error code - problem is, the warning resets when the car is restarted. this problem has been reported by other customers on the car complaints website. most recent occurrence was on 06 feb 2020. the cmbs has shut down at different mileages, both in and out of the cars warranty.

When going around a corner and the switch from electric to gas (hybrid vehicle) occurs the car seems to stall and consequently looses speed for a second or two. this happens when starting from a stop and at highway speeds.

2018 honda accord. sat in driveway overnight, normal weather, rear window fine at 7pm and at 7am it was shattered. no visible reason as to why it would have shattered. window had tint on it so window stayed intact. edges all around were breaking away.

The vehicle has developed excessive gas/oil smell halfway through the oil change cycle even when the maintenance minder shows 70% oil life. the smell occurs when driving in the midwest and causes the garage to smell like an oil/gas mixture. oil dilution has begun occurring even when provided enough time to warm up.

I went on a 200 mile trip yesterday when i was driving on highway speed 60-80 mph i felt like my steering wheel was kinda sticky when i was trying to do minor corrections while driving straight. and when i was able to move it was like free play and car was swerving left or right. i had my 3 year old daughter with me it felt like i put her life in danger. it only happened for first time. usually i drive this car in city will take it to dealership this week. all in all it’s very serious and scary issue. i won’t be surprised if there have been some crashes because of this issue.

I was driving on express way on 7/5/19 early morning. the car shake and slow down all of the sudden. i would be killed if there's a car behine me. i pulled to the curb, and try to restart the car and go, but it keeps shakung in the beginning. so i called honda for tow truck, that a leased car. but later i tried again, it seems the car could go, so i drove home. check engine light was on for few days, and the transmission couldn't shift smoothly since then. looks like a lemon. only 9000 miles on the car. i have more pictures about the problem but the system won't allow me to upload more than 5

The car has an issue that when you drive longer distances it develops a “stick-slip” feeling on the steering, e.g. it takes a little bit more effort to overcome the force it takes to turn the steering wheel to keep the car centered in the lane. others on the nhtsa website have reported the same behavior. i do have a second, identical vehicle which shows the same behavior.

I was driving my car on 14 south my speed was 55 to 60 i hear lots sound and car was not in my control i feel my rear driver side wheel came out and i almost die rim was broke during drive

After 3 months of new car ownership and appx 2000 miles when you hit 52 mph there's a loud roaring noise that abruptly stops. its louder in cold weather. same noise also happens at lower speed of appx 35 -49 mph but is muted. car has been into dealer 5 times for same issue ad honda hasn't been able to fix. noise happen on any road while in motion. 1st dealer check was in nov 2018.

This car almost killed me on highway while driving 70 miles/h it decided to tap breaks by itself(slow down) the gas pedal would not respond it was not any car in front of me.i took it to a dealer they restarted the system said everything it’s fine now but did not fixed the problem the same day i had the same issue with it.i don’t feel safe driving in it.

On highway, steering wheel lightly "locks into a notch". gently applying pressure gradually will break it loose, but causes the car to lightly swerve when it does (noticeable to passengers). this sometimes happens when attempting to follow a left or right curve or when keeping the car in the lane on a straightaway. the problem is much less apparent when lkas is engaged. problem appeared on 2018 accord at approx 10,000 miles. problem appeared suddenly and was not preceeded by anything out the ordinary. problem so far occured 2 days consecutively. problem shows up at speeds above 40 mph and after car has been at that speed for over approx 3 minutes. at speeds under 40 mph the problem does not exist.

On january 4th while traveling home my accord was set in cruise control and out of the blue hit the brakes on it's own with no one around me. i brushed it off but about 20 miles or so down the road it did it again except thus te was next to a diesel and not only did brake on its on it also responded as if i was out my lane and began to to turn my car into the diesel i was able to keep the car from crashing and the the cruise control went out and i began to get a message the there was an issue with the braking mechanism. i was worried about driving the remainder of of my trip but i was an hour and half away from home so traveled on home check my brakes constantly. this experience has my wife and i rattled. i took my car in on the 6th to topeka honda and explained what happened and that the car tried to kill me and my wife by trying to run us into a diesel truck and how it was braking on its own and the took and looked at it . the dealership called me back a stated"there was some gunk on your censor and that cause this to happen and they cleaned it off it was fine" but if the censor is on the front off the csr and gunk makes it not work surely this will happen again. i no longer feel safe nor will i allow my wife to operate this vehicle.

Vehicle was parked/stationary on semi-flat a school parking lot. when i looked back the vehicles moved. seems the parking gear did not fully engaged. regardless vehicle was not in neutral or drive and it still moved forward with no one on it, no keys inside and engine off. vehicle hit another parked vehicle. luckily no one got hurt. seems that the transmission/cvt system may be at fault, but unknown at this time.

Driving at the highway, car suddenly slow down from 70mph to 40-50mph,there were any car in front of me! i have nothing on my windshield! there weren’t any stop or traffic sign! so honda stop saying i am driving recklessly! for few second i regained control of gas, i have to speed up my car so i don’t get rear end, then everything happen again, car decided to tap brake by itself. this happen multiple time during the highway driving. screen pop up said collision mitigation break system error. please contact honda dealership. after contact dealership for repair. was told that they could not determined the problem since the error did not show up during their in house testing. and yes, error code disappeared after car restarted. but problem consists after long distance drive. i don’t know i should drive this car or i have pray you god that one day i don’t get rear end because honda accord decides to brake itself!

Under certain driving conditions when the car is slowing down while using acc (cruise control) the system will fail causing the brakes to disengage.ever time this happens 3 times so far i was driving at the posted speed limit. most time the speed limit was 55 mph. traffic went from posted limit to an almost complete stop.the car would start to slow down then the system would fail, allowing the car to continue forward almost causing a collision. the message "collision mitigation braking system problem see your dealer" is displayed. honda has a tsb 19-051 that talks about the issue. when i took the car to dealership about issue they refused to do the tsb.

Here is a description of the safety issues this car continues to have that the manufacturer and two dealers will not fix under the manufacturer's warrantee because they claim they can not duplicate and there are no stored error codes. this car has a lane departure mitigation (ldm) system that has falsely activated many times while the car is centered on the driving lane. the ldm activates by providing a warning on the dashboard and by moving the steering wheel quickly to the left and to the right which distracts the driver (a safety issue) and once caused me to almost steer the car into a semi on my right by compensating for the left steering wheel movement. this car also has a lane keep assist system (lkas) which repeatedly has steered the car off the road. both these issues have been recorded and provided to ahm and both dealers. these issues happen randomly on city streets and highways. additionally, this car has issues with randomly displaying an incorrect speed limit on the dashboard (100 mph in a 60 mph zone), falsely warning "steering is required" on the dashboard, a "shift to park" warning while repositioning the car and the engine is on, and the brake assist/anti-collision falsely activating when nothing is directly in the path of the car. all of these happen while the car is operating on city streets and highways.

The headlights are overly-bright. in the low-beam position the headlights are a painful even to glance at. when the car goes over a bump the headlights make an even more bright flash. with so many cars like this on the roads the driving conditions are becoming dangerous as the blinding headlights create both discomfort and disability glare as well as a substantial distraction. those blinding led headlights should be recalled as soon as possible.

Repeatedly at random intervals during hot & cold weather i hear loud buzzing vibration sound coming from area housing high voltage lithium ion battery!!! over the past one year. always while driving at 46 to 52 mph, now in cold weather is starting at 35 mph . i fear over heating or fire from high voltage lithium ion battery!!! i had the dealer replace a mic located in the cabin and not problem was corrected, 7 different technicians at honda had hear this noise but they don"t know what it is. this is been happen since the car had 4200 miles now is 28000 and is getting worst . please if you having this similar issue take the time to report it here so honda can take it serious this can be a fire hazard .

When driving down the highway and higher mph (50+) roads, generally but not always with the cruse control on, the brakes suddenly apply themselves very hard causing the car to become a sitting target for cars coming from behind. this has happened a multitude of times and when it was taken to the dealer with a complaint about it they kept the car but returned it saying they couldn't find anything to repair.

There was no problems indicated with the stopping ability of the car when all of a sudden a loud grinding noise was heard when the brakes were applied. the car was immediately taken to the dealer only 2 miles away and when it was inspected i was told both passenger side brakes were down to metal with no pads left. the dealer said something had failed causing the condition which was requiring more parts to be replaced. if we were farther from the dealer ( barber honda bakersfield) this could have resulted in complete brake failure is my understanding.

The door weatherstrips were all coming off and have been replaced.. drover door has been replytwice and is still coming off dealer is not taking responsibility and is saying its my fault

2018 honda accord 2.0t touring with 10-speed automatic transmission, mileage < 1000. transmission has rough shifting from 2nd into 3rd gear at low rpms/speed (2,000 rpm / < 14mph) feeling like a manual shift car popping the clutch. this can happen when car is cold or warmed up, car is in the northeast with cold or hot weather. i noticed that the rpms don't drop when it happens which creates the slam into gear feeling judder. under slightly harder but normal acceieration the car shifts (like a manual car ) as if double clutching from 2-3rd feeling like its skipping a gear but its very quick as you hear the engine revs blip between shifts. i have taken to the dealer who observed the same rough shifting and told by dealer it does shift like this compared to other accord vehicles. dealer indicated they would only observe the condition since honda has no official tsa out yet. i showed him the acura video for the same engine/trans a clutch fix break-in that's was used to help solve some reported rough shifting and honda dealer would not use it given acura use case. i am on 7,000 miles but under 1yr ownership and the same rough shift condition exist but less severe. some internet reports state rough shifting goes away above 7k miles as the transmission breaks-in and the software learns the driving behavior but it really has not in my experience. hard acceleration going above 4500 rpm the car shifts quite normally and smoothly and does not exhibit the low speed rough shifting in any of the normal or sport modes of the car thus surmising there's some form of operational failure occurring by unintentional design in software or mechanical.

The vehicle had a sudden loss of function in: 1. road departure mitigation 2. collision mitigation 3. adaptive cruise control 4. braking system the vehicle was in motion at speed of 10-40mph, with air temperature of 28-32 degrees and snowy conditions. honda has repeatedly refused to investigate numerous, potentially sw/hw - related issues that have been manifesting themselves in other parts of the vehicle. what happened today was a new set of symptoms, but with much higher severity and no obvious precedent. i have already had to disable the lane departure and the collision avoidance systems on this vehicle due to their erratic behavior. however, in this case the messages that have come up (will attache photos) demanded that the vehicle be taken to the dealer and the errors and message did not go away upon multiple restarts of the vehicle. upon arrival to the dealer, it was indicated to me that honda is aware of some of the other issues i've been experiencing with the vehicle and still (months hence) does not have a fix, and that honda has, essentially, been resorting to testing their vehicle on the customers, instead of more rigorous pre-release testing, instead choosing to use the dealers as a quasi-test/r&d department. the multiple safety system failure i experienced today is a pretty clear indication of that. i have filed another complaint with nthsa related to the other issues and would urge you to initiate a recall on all of the honda accords (and possibly odysseys and pilots as they share some of the sub-systems) for the 2018, 2019 and the coming 2020 models.

2018 honda accord. consumer writes in regards to inoperable passenger side exterior mirror. *ld the consumer stated the dealer advised the vehicle's malfunction was normal and was operating as designed. there was no way to readjust the mirror. *js

The vehicle makes a drone like humming noise. dealer says they are unable to duplicate and i should report the problem to honda. noise happens intermittently when driving car at all speeds.

Issue with steering sticking or feeling "notchy" while driving at highway speeds. minor steering input to keep vehicle going straight requires a lot of issue, then the steering lets loose jerking the car on the road. steering rack was replaced in december 2018, but the issue has resurfaced with the replacement steering rack.

I was accelerating from a stop at a red light and once i hit about 10-15 mph, the collision mitigation system came on and slammed the car to a complete stop for no apparent reason. i have a dash camera video which shows the incident. this was on a clear, sunny day on a non-busy city street (overpass).

On sunday night (11/10/19) around 5:15 pm, i was driving down the left lane of a 2-lane highway at ~55 mph. the closest vehicle was no less than 5 car lengths ahead of me. randomly, the orange "brake" light came on in the dash and the car automatically slammed on the brakes almost to a complete stop causing my head to jolt forward. luckily the car behind me was able to stop as i started to accelerate again. i believe there was nothing in front of me or on the road that should have caused this safety feature to engage. this was very dangerous and scary. i woke up this morning in excruciating pain from my neck and shoulders down to my lower back. the pain has been getting worse throughout the day and is now radiating down my arms and i have limited range of motion. last night, i figured out how to turn off the automatic brake feature and have not turned it back on today.

Vehicle was unlocked when all keys were in home. this has happened multiple times at home and while traveling .car was stationary. navigation system directions were garbled and was not able to comprehend what was said. car was in motion. this has happened before.

My 2018 honda is not driven often. it sits in my yard most of the time. i had it detailed a week ago only to find the paint was peeling on trunk, hood and roof. horrified at this news i went to social media to see if this had been a problem with other honda owners. on google i found an article that explained that the paint indeed was peeling. i followed the steps in the article. took it to the honda dealership where it was purchased. they of course except no responsibility nor would they read the article. made them give me written documentation that they were excepting no responsibility. tried for days to contact american honda with absolutely no success. now contacting you.

Rear brake pads are wearing quicker than the front, i barley have any life in the rear pads. (wearing out twice as fast as they normally should) just like what happened to the 2008-2010 accords. honda looked at the issue and completely ignored it, they told me its dangerous if i dont change them and they didnt say anything about them wearing out quick.

Collision mitigation system failed, brake light is on, adaptive cruise control system warning is on

Vehicle crash avoidance system erroneously applies brakes when no vehicle is in front of the vehicle and causes near rear end collisions while moving on local or interstate roads. this has been occurring since the vehicle was delivered new.

The problem we had with this 2018 honda accord, was it wouldn't start. without warning of low battery or faulty charging or any other indication displayed in the warning or advisory systems of the car previously - it just wouldn't start. first attempt to start the vehicle displayed these system failures on the driver information interface : vehicle stability sys. prob., brake sys. prob., anti- lock brake prob., brake hold sys. prob. in addition, the parking lights came on automatically and could not be selected "off" . being a sunday morning , we waited until monday morning to call the towing service to bring car to nearest dealer. tow driver connected a portable charger to the battery- and was able to start the car, but after disconnecting the charger, the car again would not start. the dealers report to us, was that operation of the vehicle radio without the engine running is the cause and effect of the dead battery- so, operator/owner error. (( it's our fault the ,... ( that the battery is weak, low budget and saves the company ( honda motors) money by using cheaper products.)). now, if this were you, or your wife, or your daughter, or grand mother; or all of them in the car together going to an event like a wedding - and they were suddenly and unexpectedly, without warning .... stranded on the side of a road in the middle of nowhere, at night, in stormy weather, or worse... evacuating the area from a tsunami. would you be concerned ? or , would you be flippant about it ,.... as a "corporation " often is. " .. let's wait and see if the government will catch up with us first, and make us do something about it ... " .

The brake system alert is flashing on the dashboard while vehicle in motion and there is no break issue. it appears to be a flawed collision mitigation brake system sensor as this keeps flashing across the dash in big bold letters and wont go off. i just bought this vehicle brand new 5 months ago. when turning car off and back on the message is still there and wont go away.

While parked safely in my garage my windshield suffered a stress fracture. it starts at the passenger side frame and stretches 13 inches out across the windshield. i took it to the dealer who informed me that the car would be covered under warranty when i called. i later found out after waiting two hours there that it would not be covered. this is an on going issue with accord windshields and should be recalled. there are numerous complaints here and on other sites of stress fractures without any kind of rock damage to the windshield. this needs to be reviewed and covered.

Infotainment screen reboots randomly while driving down the road. also dash lights go dim/out also.

While driving on i-95s passing through georgia state and in sport mode vehicle lost speed unexpectedly engine light appeared having to stop quickly to the side of the highway. when tried to reintegrate to highway, vehicle speed reached to no more than 40 miles. vehicle ended it up being towed to jacksonville fl.

Rattle/squeak from hud area of driver's side dash after vehicle has been sitting outdoors in the heat. vehicle is driven in florida and whenever it is parked outside, especially if left in the sun, there is a loud rattle/squeak from the hud area of the dash for some time after. passengers in the car constantly ask what the noise is. dealer has been unable to correct the issue and honda is aware of the issue. see nhtsa id number 10136423 dated april 2018. online research indicates this issue also exists in 2019 models as well. honda needs to find a solution to this issue and implement a fix for something they have known about for over a year. this is our sixth honda and we are frustrated that something as annoying as this was not discovered and resolved during the vehicle's development and testing. this issue was discovered during our first week of ownership and we have discussed it with the dealer multiple times. they tell us that honda is aware of the issue and are awaiting a fix from honda. until then there is nothing they can do.

Honda's collision mitigation system shuts down, disallowing cruise control and all safety features that are included in the collision mitigation system. dealer cannot find cause. turning off the car and restarting it resets it, but when it turns off, there is no clear factor as to why it happened. there is a safety risk if you are using cruise control, as it could fail to brake when the car in front of you slows down. it has happened 4 or 5 times in the past 8 months since i bought it brand new.

I was turning right into the parking space for my car at my home with my foot resting on the brake pedal and going at a very slow speed. then suddenly the car accelerated on its own. i had to step hard on the brake, which made it veer to the right. i was able to make the car stop just short of hitting our other car. this happened once before about a month ago when i was driving in my driveway, again at a very slow speed, this time going straight, when the car accelerated for no reason. again, i was able to stop the car by slamming on the brakes.

On august the 7 i washed my honda accord. i noticed that the clear coat is coming off. i made an appointment with the honda dealership that i bought the car from. i took it on august the 8. they took pics of the car and told me they would contact there sales rep about this. i contacted them om monday august the 12 about the matter. they contacted me back that evening and told me it was an environmental issue. like rain stuff from the roads and tree sap that i need to contact my insurance company about this.i have only had the car 7 months. the car only has around 7600 hundred miles on it.

Paint chips and scratches easily. clearcoat and paint started peeling. the slightest thing will scratch or chip the paint. scratches on the hood and roof are pretty significantly ( really noticeably due to the car being black). any little thing that touches the paint seems to damage it. the paint peeled off in multiple spots on the roof and the trunk. now i can see the actual care metal. i bought this car (accord 2018 2.0 t) in november 2018, and i started noticing all these issues couple months ago, but things got worse very quickly. contacted dealer and the contacted honda, but i received the expected answer that they can't do much as this form external environment. i used to have a c 300 black car that i used to park in the same place every day like my honda and never had these issues. *tt *tr

Windshield chips started from almost day one of purchase. the smallest of road debris have caused multiples of glass chips to accumulate across the windshield over time. the first surface of the glass is very "brittle" and easy to chip with the lightest of contact. chips form easily at low speeds. as compared to other vehicles i have driven, an unusually loud "snapping/cracking" sound occurs upon any windshield contact including bugs and rain. chips occur in irregular "clusters" upon impact. i have never experienced this on other vehicles. i have tried to ignore the peripheral chips but now they are starting to form in my field of view. very dissatisfying and disappointing.

Adaptive cruise control (acc) fails during use, the vehicle can automatically accelerate to a set speed and slow down when it senses a vehicle within a close proximity. when the acc is active and after a few times of needing to automatically slow down when another vehicle is in front of the vehicle, the system shuts down and an error message appears, " collision mitigation braking system problem. see your dealer". i've taken the vehicle to the dealer and there was no fix to the problem, my vehicle is still currently under warranty and i was disappointed that there was no fix to this problem. the date listed below was the most recent date that the same incident occurred, i took the vehicle in to south motors honda dealer back in 2018 shortly after purchasing the vehicle.

For a while now, im noticing that the auto high beams on my 2018 honda accord ex-l 2.0t car isnt working. i've tried reseting the display audio unit, i've tried disabling/re-enabling auto high beam feature by pulling the high beam stick on the steering column - none of this has fixed the issue. basic obd2 (via bluetooth and android app) do no indicate any fault codes. will be taking this into the dealership to have it checked out.

Multiple errors involving vehicle's collision mitigation braking system (cmbs). cmbs system fails regularly (approximately every 120 miles of driving) during routine use at freeway speeds. system failure shuts down adaptive cruise control (acc), collision mitigation braking system (cmbs) and displays error to "see your dealer".

Started the car and was immediately received 4 messages: "lkas: lane keeping assist system problem. see your dealer.". "road departure mitigation system problem. see your dealer.", "blind spot information system problem. see your dealer.", "auto high_beam problem. manual controls available. see your dealer.". turn signals did not work. hazard lights did not work. trunk release did not work. backup camera did not work. came back after 30 minutes or so and all displayed failures were gone and the trunk opened. my daughter said the brake lights were functioning when i depressed the brake and even though the backup camera did not turn on the back up sensors appeared to be operating.

My vehicle has missing structural adhesive on the front driver side suspension strut tower. it appears the robot that bonds the pieces of metal together with adhesive either had an air bubble in the line when this vehicle was made or there was some other defect. in addition, the transmission shifts extremely rough and nothing has been done by honda to correct the issue. i also had to have bubbles fixed in the paint on the trunk lid. the adaptive cruise control is nearly impossible to use because it does not detect vehicles ahead and accelerates rapidly or applies the brakes abruptly for no reason. american honda was notified of the defect in the suspension strut tower adhesive but refused to send an engineer to look at the car. in my opinion, any missing structural adhesive used to join metal, especially on a highly dressed place such as the strut tower, could easily become a safety defect. i would prefer my vehicle be bought back from honda as it appears to be a lemon.

While stationary or in motion, the vehicle horn sounds constantly when the wheel is turned up until the wheel is straightened out.the fuse in the steering column trips/disconnects somehow and the problem returned within weeks of repair.

All the lights in the dashboard start flashing and the message was take it to the dealer right now. this is a 5th time it happens i took it back to the dealer and they replaced the multiplex controlled unit module

7/17/19. 2018 accord touring 2.0 purchased new in november (has about 11,000 miles now). i was driving 65mph on highway when car made loud clunking noise, began to smoke intensely, and shuddered to a stop and died. i was on bluetooth phone call at the time and the person on the other end heard it and asked what it was. i said i thought the engine was on fire. i was able to pull over just as every possible warning light flashed on dash and profuse smoke poured from sides and under hood. i jumped out and moved away from vehicle, seeing a long stream of liquid from under the car along the road where i had pulled over. fire rescue came, although the car did not ignite. they and the roadside service man advised me that oil had exploded everywhere, as from a high pressure situation. the car has had one oil change at the dealer, per its maintenance schedule, and otherwise has had nothing done. i did hear a strange noise coming from it the previous evening--loud enough that i checked to see if it had any maintenance warnings, which it did not. it said my oil was at 60% and would need a b1 when it was time. after my car died, it required a tow to the dealership. the dealer said they could not even turn it on and they don't know what is wrong, but they need a specialist to come look at it. i'm concerned about how utterly dangerous the situation was. if it had been later in the day with heavier traffic, my life would have been at even greater risk. it seems really unusual to have such a catastrophic failure for no reason on a new, historically reliable vehicle.

After being parked in a friends driveway for several hours i proceeded to open my car and drive home. first remote control would not open doors, after several tries it open the driver door only, upon turning ignition on a series of warning indicating the adaptive cruise control system automatically disables itself, all collision mitigation functions stop working, series of warning see pics appear on display to see dealer, all windows and truck will not function, turn signals and brake lights, rear view camera do not function, brake system msg appears on display. turned off and on car with no success in restoring all functions as on two previous occasions. drove car for 4 miles in this state felt it was dangerous for us and other drivers. this morning all has restored to normal. called honda dealer in el monte ca. was told they did not know anything about this type of problem, was not able to book service call until middle of next week in researching online found honda service bulletin 19-051 describing a software update to car modules to fix this problem. i believe that is really should merit a recall as it interferes with the safe driving of the vehicle. a recall will force honda to inform its service dealers and instruct them on a prompt scheduling of required software upgrade to resolve this software defect affecting drivability of their flagship car.

While driving on highway at 65 mph with cruise control on brakes suddenly applied themself nearly causing a vehicle to strike me in the rear .several alarms were displayed on dash first was adaptive cruise control second collision mitigation braking system third departure mitigation system problem all alarms said to see your dealer . i took pictures with my cell phone of all alarms displayed but i'm having difficulty uploading to report . i can send a attachment specific to the claim if needed or if a email could be given i would forward such.

My car (3 times now) while driving on a highway will suddenly brake hard with no cars in front of it almost causing a rear end collision with my car. an orange light comes on the dashboard saying (brake) in large letters. i am getting scared to drive the car now.

Vehicle had issues cranking and the display had every error code flashing one after the other. after going to the dealership we were told that it was the fuel pump. it was replaced in july. the exact same issue has happened again in october if the same year and we are being told that it is the fuel pump again.

I went to the dealership for and oil change at 20,000 miles and was told that my rear pads were worn and needed to be replaced. the front pads are fine. this issue was recalled in 2010 and needs to be recalled again.

When traveling at high speeds the brakes keep setting themselves. we were almost rear ended during one instance. the honda dealer has not been able to fix this very dangerous situation.

While driving straight, the car wanders from side to side. minor corrections are needed to attempt to keep the car going in a straight line. a minor move to the left, then followed by a minor move to the right and so on. this happens at low speeds and at high speeds (over 60mph the drive can be quite scary). i took the vehicle into a dealership and they could not replicate the problem. they were going to have a honda field rep come take a look, but 1 week later i have not heard back. there is no service bulletin or active recall despite numerous complaints about the steering rack 53600-tva-a18 which my accord has and is no longer an active honda part, now replaced with a new part number. multiple complaints can be found on the driveaccord forum (https://www.driveaccord.net/threads/10th-gen-highway-freeway-sway-steer-problem-car-sways-just-a-little-bit.540665/) with several people actually having their steering racks replaced.

Collision mitigation system does not work; initial issue was warning systems went on with no one in front of car. second time brakes were applied to vehicle with no one in front of car, leading to car induced panic stop on road, thankfully, no one was trailing my car at that time. honda test drove and could not find anything; since this is sporadic, this was not surprising. told them it is a very dangerous condition and that this is a well documented complaint on websites; they told us we can turn off front mitigation collision system each time we drive. requested dealership general manager to report this condition to regional director at honda

As i am driving on the freeway, the center screen will turn off and reset itself. this causes my hands-free to stop working if i am on the phone. additionally, i am forced to touch the screen while i am driving in order to connect car play/ bluetooth which is hazardous. this has happened to me on more than 10 occasions.

Brake pulsates are when applying brakes at speed 40 moh or higher. since i noticed and took it to the dealer after 12.5k miles they will not cover the repair. according to the associate this will continue to happen every 12k miles.

(registering this complaint on 16 sep 19). i bought this car new ('18 accord hybrid), 6 sep 18. a couple months later the front struts started making a creaking/popping sound. it was very noticeable when backing out of garage and then driving out of my neighborhood. when i'd rock the steering back and forth, the noise was very audible. took it back to the dealer and they said neither front strut had been lubed from the factory (very odd), so they lubed them. 2-3 weeks later noise returned. this time dealer said one strut was bad and they replaced it. a month later the same noise returned. dealer said i had a bent control arm and asked me if i had hit something. i hadn't and told them so. after inspection they said they found no damage but that the control was bent and concluded that it was bent from the factory or was damaged during shipping. dealer replaced it. but then 3-4 weeks later same noise returned. i have about had it with this particular car (i have had to take it back to the dealer for many 'other' issues also: two recalls, electrical issues, navigation issues, the engine's battery was faulty, and the mileage has steadily dropped by 25% since i bought and took delivery of it in sep, 2018). service manager said he would discuss these issues with honda area rep (last week), but has yet to get back to me as of 16 sep 19. among all the problems, the suspension has been ongoing over the last 10-11 months. west hills honda has made three attempts to correct the suspension problems but all have failed. the suspension noise is still present as of 16 sep 19. vehicle has approximately 8700 miles.

My vehicle's backup camera software has failed again despite being "fixed" once already. the vehicle was recalled in 2018 to fix defective software that caused the backup camera to not function properly. the camera's collision sensor quit working and failed to warn me of objects in my path when i was backing up. honda loaded new software, but the problem has persisted. i took it back to the dealer for another repair, but i got the same old song and dance... "gee, it's working fine for us, and we can't fix it if it ain't broke!" well it is broken, and honda won't fix it. this is a serious safety issue, and i hope the nhtsa can help me get it resolved.

My 2018 honda accord braked spontaneously for no reason. the word brake appears on the console and the car engages the brakes suddenly and forcefully. i’ve had several incidents and there were no vehicles or objects in front of my vehicle. during two episodes, i was driving 40 mph when my car braked spontaneously- it caused my head/neck to jerk forward. fortunately, the vehicles behind me did not tear end me. i called the dealership. they said the brake mitigation system engages when driving through construction zones and told me to turn off the system in construction zones. he said “that’s how the system is designed to work”. i was not in a construction zone. this is extremely dangerous. it appears honda is aware of the problem and is not taking steps to correct it.

Catastrophic failure. turned vehicle off, noticed alarm did not work. hours later tried to enter car and noted the following: trunk will not open, doors except for driver will not open, turn signals do not work, no high beams, all mitigations systems offline, brake system failure, back up camera doesn't work. thank goodness experienced driver could get it home and/or i was not far from home with vehicle. said car is less than a year old and has 10k mileage.

I purchased a new 2018 honda accord sport june of 2018. i have had my car into honda more than 7 times for the same issue with the brake mitigation system. the car brakes on its own with no reason. honda said it could be an air freshener hanging on the rear view mirror, bugs, rain, snow, and even a shadow from a bridge. they say every time i have brought it in that no errors come up in the system so they reset the computer and say it is operating as the vehicle is designed to. i have been in a 75mph or more zone on multiple occasions and the car will brake down to 40 or less in an instant. it sends everything in my vehicle flying. honda denied a honda buy back because they did a system update for the brake mitigation system that has not been released to the public yet. they are clearly aware of the issue and how dangerous it is but they expect me to continue to drive it. i am too scared to drive this vehicle with the possibility of injuring myself or someone else. please remove these vehicles from the roads!

My vehicle was in motion at 35 mph with no traffic ahead of me and one vehicle to the driver-side rear. with no obstructions in the road or traffic ahead of my vehicle for at least a half mile, the emergency braking system activated flashing a "brake" warning light on the dashboard and locked the brakes causing my vehicle to come to a quick and complete stop in live traffic. attempts to override the system by applying pressure to the accelerator pedal failed to correct the problem. i estimate that it took between two to three seconds before the system disengaged and i was able to accelerate again to operating speed, narrowly avoiding a collision.

Collision mitigation braking system problem which causes the adapted cruise control to deactivate itself all of a sudden when driving in high or low speed traffic, happens on highway or regular street, all kinds of weather conditions from rain to sunshine. very scary especially while going on i-95 in high traffic that is all moving very fast. has happened at least a dozen if not more times and the dealership could not find a resolution. taking it again next wednesday 5/15/19.

With only 8200 miles and 5 months on the road, original battery started to leak and twice experienced a time when push button start would not start the engine. stranded. once the problem resolved itself f after 20 minutes. the second time required a jump start to get the engine going. no problems once the engine got started. replaced leaking battery and problem has not returned.

Three times now i have had the emergency breaks activate for no reason. no one was injured the first time as the vehicle was moving very slow. the second time this happened though, i was injured. i was driving approx. 45 mph down a busy street when the car stopped without warning and for no apparent reason. i was nearly rear-ended. not only did this scare me, but i was in extreme pain afterwards. when the pain got worse and i developed bruising on my neck i went to see a specialist and he confirmed that i have whiplash. when i spoke to the mechanic at the dealership i was told that the sensor is just sensitive. they checked it out but offered no solution. i have kept the feature turned off since this happened. the third time it happened with the feature disabled. my son was in the car with me. we were both shaken up pretty badly. i am now scared to drive this car. every time the dash lights up for any reason, i flinch. i have had to miss work due to the injuries that i received. i am a single mom to five kids, i cannot afford to miss work due to poor design and engineering of this vehicle. i bought this car thinking that this feature was a safety feature. it has certainly proven to be the opposite!

The adaptive cruise control will randomly stop working when i approach a car on the interstate. usually this will happen 1-3 times per 100 mile trip. i need the cruise control and have discovered that if i pull over, turn the car off, then turn it on again the cruise control will function again. pulling off on the side of an interstate or exit ramp is hazardous. apparently some people are putting their car in neutral while still driving on interstates, turning the car off, then on again.

I have numerous incidents where the collision mitigation braking system has gone out giving an amber dash warning to see the dealer. when this happens, the cruise control will also not function.

Active cruise control (acc) failed while driving approx. 40 mph. approaching the vehicle ahead of me which was rapidly slowing/stopping, the acc failed to slow my vehicle which forced me to manually apply hard braking at the last moment to avoid a collision. when i looked down there was an error message on my instrument cluster which read "collision mitigation braking system problem. see your dealer". the weather at the time was clear and 62 deg. f, and the vehicle was clean with no dirt nor obstructions on the front radar unit nor the windshield (camera area). the acc could not be restarted until i pulled the car over and shut it down/restarted it, which then cleared the error message and enabled me to reinitiate the acc system. this is a significant safety defect!

On 2018 honda accords the adaptive cruise control which is standards on all trim levels, does not brake the vehicle to maintain the set speed when going downhill. this is odd since the vehicle will apply brakes to maintain speed if there's a vehicle in front of the car, but on downhills all it will do is make several downshifts to try and maintain the speed. every other car i've driven that has adaptive cruise control will apply brakes to keep the vehicle speed from increasing in an uncontrolled manner. of course if you tap the brakes yourself cruise control is disabled. a simple software update would resolve this issue.

I have a 2018 honda accord 2.0t touring. i have numerous incidents where the collision mitigation braking system has gone out giving an amber dash warning to see the dealer. this has happened 6 times all when the adaptive cruise control was engaged. it also disabled the cruse control. all 6 times i was driving on the interstate. the road was flat and straight and it was a clear sunny day with no other car in the vicinity .the radar unit and camera were free of bugs. most times, upon shutting off the car and restarting everything returns to normal. however, one time upon restarting the car the phone ,radio navigation, adaptive cruse control, cruse control and collision mitigation braking system would not come back and i had to take the car to the dealer. this car was taken to honda of el cajon, ca on 4/21/18 and chapman honda, az on 7/31/18 and 7/3/19. no problem was found all 3 times

On entering a touchless carwash, windshield loudly cracked. there was a minor stone chip near the start of the two cracks that appeared, but it did not penetrate the first panel of glass. two cracks were approximately 18 inches long

When driving my car and i applying the brakes, the initial bite of the brakes fells like the car is not stopping as it should after applying the brake pedal further then it stats stopping very hard it almost feels like if i’m brake checking the person behind me, almost got in to a couple of collisions because of it and also almost have gotten rear end it because of it.

I have a 2018 honda accord 2.0t touring with the 10-speed automatic transmission. the transmission shifts extremely rough from 2-3 gear, 3-4th and downshifting into pretty much any gear. it's been taken to the dealer several times for this issue and nothing has been resolved. i was told it was just how the transmission shifted on this car, which i immediately disputed because i've driven other exact models that did not exhibit this rough shifting behavior. i also am dissatisfied with the length of time it takes the vehicle to engage reverse from park. it can take up to 3 seconds for reverse to engage at which time it just slams into gear. i've contacted american honda and filed a complaint about the various concerns i have with this vehicle. i also have a paint defect from the factory on the rear trunk lid. honda instructed me to take it back to the dealership, which is hard with my schedule. if this continues after the next service appointment, i'm going to demand the car be replaced with another vehicle.

After car has warmed up, upon a restart, gasoline odor comes through air vents as car idles. this is on the 2.0l turbo engine in the sport model.

On multiple occasions, while driving on the highway, my 2018 accord has unexpectedly braked when there was no object/car in front of me. when there is car stopped in front of me, the sensors do not kick in for emergency assisted braking. something is definitely not right with this car.

The collision mitigation braking system warning light comes on intermittently. i have to stop the car turn it off and turn it back on in order to reset the warning light. the dealer tells me this is a known problem but they don’t have a fix the light has come on in all types of driving conditions, clear and dry, rain, etc.

I've had the car for 4 months, and the car has come to a stop three times on a busy state route at rush hour, and once on a street when the road expanded from one lane to two. i am now turning the cmbs off every time i get in the car. however, the braking system still engaged! i must cross over a solid white line to access the freeway, and i'm scared that the car will stop there every day. one day was bright and sunny out, one day was dark before sunrise, one day was cloudy and overcast. in all cases, the road was straight and dry.

I purchased my cars about 4 months ago and noticed some issues as soon as i left the dealership. first there's no mileage digital speedometer, only kilometer. as soon as you switch to miles it disappears. second, the car play system often times resets itself while in driving mode , also happens a lot when gear is shifted. third, lane sensor system is completely defected as well and cannot be trusted for a second, the worst is the car pool lane, in california is a yellow lane and the car automatically pulls towards it. it obviously cannot detect yellow lines. today something new happened and completely changed the game for me : the car emergency breaks were activated by nothing and out of nowhere while i was driving on 90 mph !!!!!!! all my stuff were thrown from the back seat to the front and i got seriously injured by the seat-belt that was pushed against me! let me make it clear...there were zero cars before me or around me ! thank god for no cars behind me or this citation could have ended differently. i drove the car to the dealership and left the keys over there till they figure it our or give me a different car. i'm scared to go back driving it.

The car engine caught fire for no apparent reason. it happened on march 28 1:30pm when i was driving on california highway 24. the car has been running on highway speed of 65 miles per hour for about 15 minutes when i first smelled something is burning. i then saw smoke coming out from the front section of the car. i immediately changed lanes to the side of the freeway and attempted to stopped the car by pressing the foot brake. the car has significantly slow down but it was continued rowing forward. it is on a slightly downhill slop. as seeing smoke getting darker and more strong, i pressed the parking brake and the car still would not stopped. i then opened the car door and rowed out from the car onto the highway. fortunately there was no car and i was ok. i then called 911 to have fire department put out the fire. the car was totaled. i have 2 concerns. my car was just 16 months old when it happened. there was no warning light on before it happened and we have followed the service schedule. how can something like this can happen to a relatively new car and perfect service record. the other concern is when the car was on fire, both the foot break and parking break could not stopped the car from moving. has this happened in a uphill or down hill slop, i would be at great risk.

Tpms warning light come on intermittently when tire pressure is checked, pressures are okay. warning is a false alarm. after system is reset/recalibrated the tpms is okay for 50 to 100 miles before another false alarm warning comes on. resetting system lasts another 50 to 100 miles

Upon driving on a highway at 60 mph at night, the accelerator peddle was rapidly depressed to avoid another rapidly oncoming car from the rear of my car. my car stumbled and a blinking check engine light came on. the car then went into an operating mode in which about 80% of the car's power was lost and could only be driven very slowly. the car was able to be driven 5 miles to my house. at home the car was turned off. upon restarting, the check engine light was off and the car then performed normally. a similar incident previously occurred but the check engine light did not come on. several days after this incident, the car was taken to the dealer. the dealer could not duplicate the problem and there was no fault codes reported from the engine control module. as a result, the dealer did nothing. this is surprising since this was a major performance and safety anomaly for this car. the manufacturer was contacted regarding this problem, however, no action or comment from their customer service department has been received.

Had the car about 6 months, and have half a dozen small rock chips in the glass. had safelite come out to repair and they said they are getting a ton of these new accords in for repair and replacement but my chips were too small to repair. guess i have to wait for them to crack and spread and get a whole new $1,000 windshield. this glass seems way too prone to chips and cracking. other owners are complaining about their windshield cracking with no signs of visible damage.

On 2 separate occasions my car’s automatic collision mitigation system has engaged without notice and any reason. there was nothing in front of my car and the car braked suddenly while i was driving 45 mph. the last time this happened i was thrown forward and back with a jerk. since then i’ve been experiencing lower neck and shoulder pain. i disengaged the collision mitigation system and will take the car into the dealership for diagnosis.

Car has a safety sensor system called cmbs (collision mitigation braking system) that is supposed to help you avoid collisions. on 2 occasions this braking system has engaged for no apparent reason causing the car to brake abruptly in traffic creating extreme accident potential.

My wife was backing up using the cars back up camera the view showed the direction lines but no obstructions. with no warning she hit a parked car causing damage to both. the car at no time was visible in the camera monitor.

Driving on a major highway, 65 mph with cruise control on. suddenly, warning lights came on and vehicle abruptly and quickly decelerated from 65 to 20 mph, forcing me to pull off the highway to the side of the road. there was a strong smell of gasoline in the car. i turned the engine off. because of the potentially dangerous situation sitting on the side of the highway, i re-started the car a few minutes later and drove to the next exit a couple miles ahead at a reduce speed. i pulled into a parking lot and called for assistance. the honda dealer in orchard park, ny ,where the car was towed, told me that the oil level was extremely high, and changed my oil to bring it to a normal oil level. the dealer further told me that the because i drive short trips and the weather has been cold that is why gasoline is going into the oil and giving me engine trouble on my new car. my honda dealer in rochester, ny confirmed the same and said to drive my car a couple of times a week for a longer period of time to help avoid this issue. my driving habits as a student living on a small campus, in a cold area, are that of a few short drives a day to classes. i use my car primarily for driving myself home and to school which is a 2 hour drive. there is no recall for my honda accord, and both honda dealerships said that there have been similar problems with the honda cr-v & civic but they have never seen any issues with a honda accord. i want to make it clear that my new 2018 honda accord with 2220 miles has the same issue, and the engine malfunction on the highway scared the hell out of me and my family and i am very grateful i did not get hurt or my car malfunctioning did not cause an accident and cause injury to other drivers.

Paint is peeling and coming off. it's like there is no clear coat

Paint peeling & chipping - six months after i purchased my vehicle (nov. 2018) the paint started chipping and peeling on the hood, top and trunk of the car. every time the vehicle is washed, it gets worse, so i'm afraid to wash the vehicle. the spots are visible whether the vehicle is stationary or in motion. bryan honda and american honda have been notified. nothing was addressed until i reported it to diane wilson with eyewitness news troubleshooter on july 11, 2019. now bryan honda wants to communicate with me. i was told that the problem came from tree sap, bird droppings, and/or acid rain. ridiculous! very disappointed with american honda, bryan honda and management. will never but another honda!

Observed spots on the bonnet where the paint has peeled off. the car was purchased bought in oct 2018.

Car applies brakes while in forward motion. this only occurs when the cruise is set. i have noticed this happens when the sun is shining into the car. there have been a few times the car has applied the brakes, when attempting to overtake another car. twice the car has applied the brakes when there are markings on the highway such as a school zone. i have taken the car to a honda dealer, and they have not been able to find the source of the problem.

During stop and go traffic, car braked causing the person behind me to rear-end me. this had happened one other time before, luckily the car behind me wasn't following too closely and i was going less than 30mph. a couple weeks after that while going highway speeds and wet road conditions, a warning light came on stating there was a problem with the collision mitigation braking system and to see dealer. once that warning comes on cruise control also disengages. this warning light has come on one other time, while driving highway speeds with dry road conditions. if the car is restarted the warning resets and all systems are up and functioning again.

Collision mitigation braking system activated for no reason, on surface roads and highway speeds, vehicle slammed on brakes automatically, there is nothing on the road in front of the car. this has occurred numerous times. dealerships told me that there was no registration in the warranty system because they were unable to fix the problem so no record of this problem was sent to honda usa.

Today i was driving home, doing 45 miles per hour. this is a two lane road, there were no cars near me. suddenly, the car beeped twice, the brake sign came on the dashboard and the car stopped violently. the seat beat locked down across me. thankfully there was no one behind me. my neck and right shoulder are now hurting. the incident happened a mile from my home. my husband called the honda dealer when i got home to report the incident. this is the third incident since we purchased the vehicle, but this time was a more violent stop. each time there was nothing in front or beside the car. thankfully, each time no other car was directly behind me.

Today 06-26-19 i was driving about 5mph out of a parking lot going very slow, i was ready to turn onto a road that is not busy at all, out of nowhere my car brakes locked violently suddenly. the brake light alert went off as well, when there was nothing in front of my. not a car, not a person, absolutely nothing. my car stopped so hard that it jerked my neck. i have googled this and there are multiple complaints from people about this issue. i feel very unsafe & afraid to drive my car now, especially when i have to drive 60 miles on the interstate to my job. i’m not sure if other owners of this make, model and year have reported this issue. please find out what’s going on with my car.

When driving with cruise control and forward collision avoidance system enabled the car will at random times apply the breaks when there is nothing in front of the vehicle. so far this has happened during interstate driving approximately 2-4 times in the first 10,000 miles of ownership.

As i was driving approximately 35 miles per hour the car’s brakes engaged violently. there were no cars in front, behind or on either side. this was the second time in less than two weeks this occurred. i took the car to the dealership and they stated nothing was wrong.

Collision mitigation, lane assist, road departure, and brake system malfunction before vehicle is a year old causing vehicle to leave roadway when using speeds in excess of 50 mph preventing vehicle from stopping, and/or causing steering wheel to "alert" you of lane departure while driving properly also causing vehicle to "steer" into side of 18 wheeler while traveling speeds in excess of 60mph for interstate travel with passengers in tow. has happened for roughly 7,000 miles. when brought to honda to be fixed, was told it was not covered under vehicle warranty due to having "clips" broken off of front sensor. was accused of sensor being hit by something yet no sign of damage. honda refused to have this fixed and simply "cleared" the alerts causing vehicle to not have use of any safety features but also not show any maintenance codes as well. honda service manager stated something as simple as a "junebug" can cause this to malfunction and that is why customers carry collision with insurance. states alot about honda's quality if a simple junebug can cause an entire $30,000 vehicles safety features to malfunction and a service manager not want to comply with safety standards due to some 2$ broken clips that can break by simply driving down a louisiana roadway. what does this state about these vehicles up north dealing with snow with a sensor that sits underneath the front bumper?

Purchased new 2018 honda accord sport from dealership. while driving the vehicle it will brake with no warning and anything in sight. we see to experience this issue almost on a weekly basis. the vehicle is currently at the dealership for the 3rd time since march. of course they say they can't replicate the issue and until can't do anything about it. the service manager continually try's to refer us to the owner's manual and stands firm that this is part of the brake mitigation safety system and is "normal". i have personally been driving the vehicle on the highway at roughly 70mph on a clear day with no vehicles in sight, no road construction, straight highway, not merging on or off the road and the system lock down with three children in the backseat. most recently my girlfriend was driving the vehicle and the brake system locked down causing a gentlemen to swerve off the road to avoid hitting her in the rear end. i'm sick of hearing excuses from honda and the dealership! this is not a safety feature, this is a very dangerous issue. i have been told by the service manger the system can be cut off but i should not have to cut off a "safety" feature on a brand new car with less than 40k miles. i have seen hundreds of complaints on line regarding this issue and i certainly hope it doesn't take someone being killed before honda corrects this issue. i have documented six occurrences of the braking system locking down just in the past month. i have also spoke with honda certified techs & service writers whom have all stated they're aware of the issue and no fix is currently available. if so i suggest honda purchase this 2018 honda accord back!

The collision mitigation system and adaptive cruse control (acc) has on two occasions turned off at highway speed - potentially dangerous situation if you are depending on the system to regulate your speed in traffic. the car must be stopped and restarted to reactivate the system. also, the system at times applies braking when there are no other cars or other obstacles in it's line of sight. this also seems to happen (not always) when overtaking a tractor trailer at highway speed. i have researched this problem on the internet and other honda owners have experienced the same issue, typically with the dealer not being able to find a problem. apparently the error codes reset when the car is restarted.

I was driving on on-410 south to work on may 24 ,2019 morning and i tried to open the sunvisors to get rid of sunlight coming from front as soon as i opened the sunvisors they fell down and came across the face and i was just about to hit the car at front just because of improper visibility .

First 7,000 miles got 47 mpg, honda did back up camera software update, and mpg dropped to 42, then 38, and now 34, on all the same types of driving. electric engine hardly runs and not nearly as much as earlier. seems to be related to the temperature, the colder the temperature, the lower the mpg.

Leased 2018 honda accord in october, 25 miles later had checked engine light on,took it back to the dealer,emission hose wasn't attached properly. after 900 miles the wheel alignment went out ( i did not hit any pot holes) took it back to the dealer, according to the dealer one the rod wasn't set right, now it's january 2019 and have 4000 miles yesterday the car started to supporter and all the warning started flashing auto high beam, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation, road departure mitigation....all this sing said see your dealer..guess what i called the dealer first thing this morning..today is january 24 2019 still waiting to hear from the dealer all this technology is totally useless... i had 2002 honda accord with 310,000 miles and no technology

Wheel wells building up with ice/snow causing vehicle to vibrate while operating (like out of alignment) and hindering the turning of the vehicle left or right because tires are hitting the ice/snow buildup on wheel well.the tires when cold also behave as if road is slippery, both in acceralation/stopping even though road may be dry. this occurs in cold temperatures only. dealership states that there is nothing that can be done other than to drive vehicle into a heated garage to allow ice/snow buildup to melt off. this is a safety issue since traveling 15-20 miles in snow conditions and the wheel well is full of snow and the tires are making contact with this snow which will affect the tires as well. not being able to turn sharply left and right is dangerous not allowing driver to take corrective action need be. tires appear to be dangerous in cold temperatures because after they warm up, they operate okay. however when cold, the slip and slide behaving like you are on icy roads even though road is dry. took to dealer today.additional pictures and the invoice from dealership available

Vehicle running, both driving and stationary, dash indicated three warnings: "adaptive cruise control system problem", "collision mitigation braking problem", "road departure mitigation problem". all three systems were nonfunctional. dealer advised to drive through a car wash before coming in for repair. the car wash appears to have worked, but this is absurd! every time it rains or car is dirty, the safety features don't work? didn't see this disclosure when i bought the car or when i paid for these features.

Since 1/14/2019, steering has been sticking and difficult to maintain track while at highway speeds. additionally, steering seems abnormally "loose" when the sticking condition is not present. vehicle does not feel secure in steering. lane keep has been turned off since october 2018. tire pressure is as per door sticker. vehicle is currently at dealership now-honda is replacing steering gear box-part is on backorder, with unknown availability or delivery date. this problem appears to be the same problem reported in nhtsa id # 11171463, and 11156728. problem appeared at approximately 5500 miles on odometer.

Collision mitigation braking system problem,car brakes by its self ,was driving at 75mph and car slamed on brakes to 35 on us 71 almost caused an accident. also monitor on dash that has home ,nav,audio settings shuts off by its self and reboots.braking problem happens on cruise control and normal driving. i photo the dash 5 times when collision mitigation went off in a 5000 mile period .

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda accord. the contact stated that the heat failed to work while the vehicle was being operated. honda of new rochelle (25 e main st, new rochelle, ny 10801, (888) 905-3762) suggested that the contact "trick" the vehicle by putting on her seat belt and shifting into drive. the heat started to work; however, the vehicle shut off and the instrument panel illuminated. the vehicle would not restart and was towed back to the dealer. the dealer called back one month later and stated that they replaced the engine when the vehicle was purchased brand new. the contact researched and found out that there were reports that the engine was defective. the contact notified her state's attorney general's office and researched the lemon laws. the contact informed the dealer that she did not want the vehicle and informed both the dealer and manufacturer by letter that she wanted another vehicle. the dealer's general manager instructed the contact to remove the vehicle off the dealer's lot. the general manager threatened to have the vehicle placed by the road where it would get ticketed. the contact removed the plates and left the vehicle at the dealer. the contact filed a complaint with the attorney general's office. the failure mileage was 818.

I was driving my vehicle at 25 when it started showing three warnings " collision mitigation system failure, lane departure system failure, adaptive cruise control failure (see your dealer). i called my local hnda dealership in reading pa. they said they have received alot of these complaints and they think they honda sensing system just freezes in the winter. it only snowed 5 inches a day prior to this event. basically they said it will go away once its bit warmer and they have no factory recall. all the dealership could repeat " we are sorry". i looked all over the internet and i found 100s of similar complaint. my question is why they are not fixing it? why there has been no recall? the failure of this honda sensing system defeats the main reason i bought this car along with many others.

Have a problem steering binding at speeds above 50 mph while making small adjustments to stay in lane. it seems to be most noticeable 65 mph on interstate and temp below 35 degrees. moving left or right it gets hard then cuts loose then you need to over correct back to stay in center. not safe to drive in center lane. was ok first 5000 miles.

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda accord. the contact stated that the vehicle's software was updated per nhtsa campaign number: 18v629000 (back over prevention, visibility). after the software was reprogrammed, there was a five second delay in which the back up camera rebooted and the system display was inoperable. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. heritage honda of bel air (located at 1800 belair rd, fallston, md 21047, (410) 343-5644) was informed of the failure. the manufacturer was not contacted. the approximate failure mileage was 7,000.

While driving on the interstate at approximately 40mph in heavy traffic the following warning indicator appeared, "collision mitigation braking system problem. see your dealer." the vehicle was in motion at the time and the brakes had not been applied. this did go out after turning the car off and restarting it. i took it to a honda dealer but they would not help since the warning message went off. however, it appears others are having similar issues as i am and nothing is being done to address or correct it.

In the states where it snows, the car collects large amounts of snow on the front, and knocks out the radar system for the lane departure detection system, witch also is for the braking system, that helps with cruise control and any close encounters. i am not sure if it actually affects the cruise control because in the snow is not a time to use it.

Steering system "sticks" at times while driving on the highway. it requires some force to correct for this which can cause an over-correction in steering and should be considered unsafe. this is a brand new vehicle with less than 500 miles on it. found the following information from the 'accordxclub.com" auto club: "the dealer had my car for a week and brought in honda's field engineer since this was the second case of this steering issue they had seen recently. the tech's notes on my invoice state "steering gear box binding / replaced gear box". it was a single part replacement -- 53620-twa-a28. at $2,100 for the part, not including labor, i pity anyone that ends up with this problem out of warranty! " seems like there are numerous owners who are experiencing the same problem.

I got my honda accord sport on november 30 2018 with 8 miles on the odometer. i noticed immediately that there was no heat in the car. i also noticed the temperature gauge in the dash was not reaching ‘engine temperature. i went back to the dealer honda of new rochelle, complaining of no heat while idling. i was told to put the car in drive with my seatbelts and brakes on to trick it’ that seemed to work. a week later it started to get to engine temperature while idling without tricking it. a week later while idling the vehicle shut off never to start again. the valves were damaged. honda replaced the engine that only had 800 miles. now they want to give me back the car when i know there is something inherently defective with the engine design.

Loud rattling noise coming from the dash on the left side in the driver's area. seems to occur at all speeds, regardless of ambient temperature. in december 2018 i was informed by local dealership that honda working on a "fix" but i have seen nothing yet about a tsb or recall. noticed noise not long after purchasing vehicle in feb 2018. annoying for a new car to be noisy.

When vehicle in motion, loud buzzing sound coming from driver side view mirror. highway and general driving in town and secondary roads.

The honda sensing system sometimes automatically slams on the brakes at highways speed when there is no vehicle in front of me, nearly causing collisions with vehicles traveling behind me.

The collision mitigation braking system has completely failed twice on my month old 2018 honda accord. when this fails, the cruise control is also deactivated. both times the car was in motion with the adaptive cruise control active.

Collision detection system failed, works fine after restart. issue occurs every 70 miles and requires a restart to fix.

Engine oil smells strongly of gasoline. this is the same 1.5l turbo gdi engine that has been recalled already in the civic and crv.

Oil is seeping from the top of the engine on the driver’s side. i do not know the name of this component. initially and shortly after we bought the car november 2018, there was the smell of oil/gas around the exterior of the car. i do not notice it now. i check the dipstick oil level routinely and had two dealerships check the oil level; one dealership changed the oil. however, the current oil level on the dip stick indicates that it is over-full and there is a slight smell of gasoline on the dipstick. the oil seems very thin (not viscous) and runs quickly off of the dipstick.

My car has cracks in the windshield located outside of the vehicle from both sides on the wiper blades trails. it has not been hit by a rock. i noticed it on two different occasions when i was using the wipers on rainy days. i was told by the glass repair shops that it was caused due to the heated wipers while it was cold outside. the vehicle was in motion and while driving in the rain to work the cracks appeared to travel longer on the windshield.

Collision mitigation braking system problem while on cruise control it will disengage and this error will show up also braking light flashes on and off with nothing around or near the sensors.

The sensor for the honda sensing system is located where it is very vulnerable to damage and it stops functioning properly when it collects even a small amount of snow. other vehicles do not have sensors anywhere near this vulnerable. this system is promoted as adding to the safety of the vehicle, but because of the design and location on the 2018/2019 accord it is very vulnerable to failure. i have contacted honda corporate customer service who basically said there was not a problem since they had not received many complaints with the location of the sensor. i think they will in time. this sensor was damaged on my new accord while driving down and interstate highway in arkansas after owning the car two weeks and a day. since it is damage, the warranty did not cover the cost to repair the sensor. i am concerned this is likely to happen again because of the location of this sensor.

Takata recall i was driving going grocery shopping when i noticed my vehicles stability control began to activate at random times and no rain/snow was present on the ground. i turned the ignition of and on to see if the problem was fixed but only notice the same thing was repeatedly happing.

The car has a sensor for breaking. on several occasions i have been driving and the car breaking system comes on making the vehicle come to a sudden stop. during several of these dangerous breaking events no vehicles or objects were in front of me. i have almost been rare ended because of the breaking. i have noticed that even s shadow from a tree can trigger the sensor to make the breaking system turn on making the car come to a sudden stop. this is extremely dangerous and there is no way to turn this feature completely off. when you turn it off it resets once you turn the ignition to start the car again. this recall needs to happen now before someone gets injured or killed.

Oil has gas in it ,dealer says their is no fix afraid to drive afraid engine will blow up.had oil changed at 1900 miles 100 miles later gas inoil again

My windshield developed a stress crack on the lower mid driver side that started at the pillar and spread to the center. took to three different shops and all stated it was a stress crack. other accords of the same year are having the exact same issue.

The shift from 2nd to 3rd gear under light acceleration is violent and feel like the vehicle was rear ended this happens more frequently in colder temperatures this happens when starting from a stop or a rolling stop.

Rattling / vibration coming from driver’s side dash area when accelerator pedal is pressed while car is in motion. happens after car is warmed up, and is an indication of a loose piece that could become detached and cause injury.

Infotainment screen which also displays rear view camera randomly restarts.

Upon completion of the driving the car, i will put the car into the garage. after 10-20 minutes has passed, i walk out to the garage and the whole garage smells like unburnt fuel. on occasion if the time between drives is short, the entire inside of the car will also smell like fuel. i have taken the car to the dealer 4 times so far, with no luck helping. today will be the 5th time in the first 20000 miles. i put it as last week because that is what made me send it back to dealer yet again, but this has been on going for months.

While driving the display audio portion of the car will shut off randomly and restart, or freeze, then shut down, and restart. there is sometimes an audio warning (beep) often times it will just randomly shut down. i have experienced it no fewer than 8 times while driving since august. it has happened in both city driving and highway driving. it always occurs when the vehicle is in motion. most instances have occurred when using my motorola g5 plus connected via usb and using android auto for directions, however, not every instance. the dealership and i have both done a factory reset on the head unit in the vehicle, as well as had it serviced for the recall and the issue still persists.

Re: nhtsa recall 18v-629 dealer reprogrammed the display audio unit, as required by the recall. the reprogramming failed to solve the problem, in fact, it made it worse.. the display now starts and reboots at random while the car is being driven, including when it is in reverse. the service manager told me that he has the same problem with his own 2018 honda accord. the problem only occurs when the car is in motion.

After taking delivery of my accord on dec 7, 2018 i noticed that the interior lights weren't on even though the driver door was open. i thought someone had just turned the switch off. after arriving home i made sure the door switch was in the "door" position and the rear light switch was in the middle. the overhead light, rear lights still would not come on after opening the door. there was also no vanity mirror or trunk lights. a few days later the overhead lights began coming on by themselves and fade out after 15 seconds. it did it while the doors were open or closed and sometimes while starting the car. i took it to the dealership on dec 13 and the technician discovered that the lights were on some kind of timer. really? it applied power to the lights at a set interval. for a few minutes after the interval the lights worked perfectly, then shut off and would not work again until the next interval. the dealership ordered a new lighting module. the module was installed on dec 20 and the lights did the same thing. the problem is not the battery, wiring, fuses, bulbs, or light module. no one knows what's controlling the timing. the lights shouldn't be on any timer. the engineers at american honda were stumped. i now have to bring it back next week so the technicians at the dealership can talk with the engineers in japan that designed the car. on the surface this seems like a simple problem but in actuality it's incredibly complex. like having to replace the entire electrical system or computer. there are 2 more times to fix this issue before it can be called a lemon. other than the odd lighting problem my car has performed perfectly.

While driving with the cruise control on the collision mitigation and braking system will intermittently turn off and disable the cruise control. dealer says nothing is wrong, claim the sensors are overloaded. this can happen on bright sunny days, cloudy days and at night. sensor on front of car is clean; no bugs, smears or liquids. will reset with a stop/start of the engine. code check revealed. uo401-53 temporary stop of integrated driver support system -- received stop request by pgm-fi system. error code 401-93 temporary stop of integrated driver support system -- received stop request by pgm-fi system. this happens only when the cruise control is on and moving. this has happened at least 12 times in the past 8 months, most recent was today.

My brand new 2018 honda accord 2.0t w/ automatic transmission is having issues. it shifts very roughly sometimes, i notice the problem most when the engine is cold, however it still happens frequently when engine is at normal operating temperatures. i understand that its a first year production vehicle and a newly designed transmission but having problems like this with under 700.00 miles is excusable. the problem did not suddenly start, i noticed the problem soon after driving off the dealer lot for the first time. and let me be clear, i understand what "break in periods" are for cars and i have not driven this vehicle aggressively at all yet, the very rough shifts happen at just normal everyday driving.

Failure of front crash mitigation, lane deparure mitigation system while car is moving. sudden deceleration from engine to electric at highway speeds.

The shift from 2nd to 3rd gear, under certain conditions, is so unsafely violent that it feels like the vehicle has been rear ended. the condition occurs while accelerating at a mild pace and when the vehicle has yet to warm up. the condition is present in both econ and normal drive modes. the condition has not been experienced in sport mode. the condition occurs at least once a week.

5 braking error messages appeared after being parked for 4 hours: electric parking brake system problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem, anti-lock brake system problem, vehicle stability assist system problem. all errors directed me to "see your dealer". the vehicle operated perfectly prior to this. i was unable to start the car or even lock it after these errors appeared. the battery was also drained because these messages kept appearing.

I had an event with my turbo hose being loose, dealer tech said must have been loose coming from the factory. here is the thread. my situation is illustrated with my handle, "mikiwolf". basically, lost power in my vehicle after 1850 miles and had it towed to dealership. at first they said it was bad fuel and quoted me $800 to clean the fuel tank. tech kept using "ethanol" and "water" interchangeably which confused me. a day later i went to the dealership and the tech said it was bad gas with just 5% ethanol, fuel was too rich creating the problem for me. even after i expressed that ethanol is simply an additive, it meant little to this 20-something kid. long story short, after i asked him to test for water, he wound up doing a visual inspection and found the turbo inlet pipe was loose, tightened it, and did a test drive - problem fixed. the tech went on to say that his internal forum shows this situation happening more and more with accords. he thinks they are coming from the factory too loose and going forward he knows what to look for now. the dealership did the right thing to work with me and reconcile their findings with me. problem is, not everyone is as technical as i am and overall honda seems to have a build issue to resolve and broadly investigate.

Monday september 24th, 2018, i was traveling on u.s. highway 19 and a vehicle turned off about a half mile ahead of me while i had the cruise control engaged. the vehicle had completely cleared the road and my car slammed on brakes causing everything in the vehicle to be thrown into the floorboard. had there been a car behind me, the car would have rear-ended my vehicle. there continues to be an issue where the sensor recognizes something in the road that is not there or a vehicle that has already cleared the road and slams on brakes. this creates a serious safety issue and is damaging on the brakes. i do not feel safe driving with this system engaged because i do not know when the vehicle will slam on brakes causing other drivers to rear-end me.

Driving my new 2018 accord ex-l 2.0 in the left lane on i65 going south toward lafayette in on friday october 5. there were two southbound lanes. conditions were wet but it was not raining hard at the time. had acc and other safety features on. was passing a semi (that was going about 70-71 mph) at about 75 mph when a car came up behind me going much faster than me. i accelerated to move in front of the truck and immediately lost all acceleration. the small yellow check engine light came on and i was steadily losing speed. i maneuvered over to the right shoulder going about 50. had to keep the engine revved at 3000 rpm and still was steadily losing speed while driving on the shoulder. eventually pulled off at the first exit after about 2 miles on the shoulder and was going about 15 mph at the time. turned off the car, waited for a few minutes, and started it up. it drove fine and the engine light stayed off. i had my wife and two daughters in the car. we easily could have caused an accident on a busy two-lane interstate with many semis. dealer says there are no codes to check from the cel and that all hoses, etc are connected and that the car is fine. it wasn't fine when it lost power on the highway. i suspect an electrical problem or something with the fuel pump.

While driving at highway speeds with acc (adaptive cruise control) enabled and lkas (lane keep assist) enabled and passing a car and another time an 18 wheel truck, the car suddenly and abruptly braked to slow down 5 mph. the road was straight and no cars were in front of me. this was a very dangerous situation because cars were behind me and they all had to react to slow down. t

1. car multimedia unit (with a touch-screen) randomly freezes and restarts itself. it happened to me 9 times already since i bought a car in june 2018. if you use navigation system or need screen for other activities while you driving - you are in trouble, because you will lose all the content you had on the screen before the restart and it will distract you from the driving. after restart system is very slow and it forces you to accept legal declaimer while you driving! two times it just froze without restart and i had to stop the car, turn the engine off and on again, to remove the problem. very annoying and also not safe because it distracts you. one time it happened while i was backing up using rear view camera, which almost caused an accident. this happens randomly, mainly when i'm driving. it happens when devices are attached to the multimedia unit and without any devices being attached or used. it happens at night and day time and i doubt it is related to overheating. it can happen during long drive as well as 5-10 minutes after the engine start. no visible pattern here. ocean honda of burlingame dealership in bay area is not helpful and totally not professional. been there twice, no luck. they didn't even try to replicate the issue properly always trying to search for fault in my actions or blame compatible devices attached to cigarette power slot. american honda advised me to video record this activity while i'm driving !!!! still no resolution. very disappointed in honda 2. sensors are not properly setup because it "thinks" that there's a car ahead of you if sensor detect shadow on a road, etc. car applied breaks few times without a reason. didn't go to dealership with this problem yet.

Purchased accord 8/25/2018, 103 miles on car at time of purchase. driving that same night ast around 30mph on residential 2 lane road. car came to a complete stop on its own. collision mitigation system error came on dashboard. took to dealer 8/27/2018. dealer reset the system and told us everything okay. seven days later car came to a complete stop identical to 1st incident. cms error came on again in addition to total electrical system failure. took to dealer, they replaced the mother board and reset the cms as well. 9/16/2018 - traveling on 4 lane hwy at 50 mph. car activated brakes again and brought the car to a complete stop. this incident almost resulted in a rear end collision. driver behind was able to swerve and avoid hitting us. each incident there was no drivers ahead of me, no animals/items crossing path. completely random and cannot willing replicate. 9/18/2018 dealer is now coming to pick the car up and work with honda engineers to determine the issue. this a a huge safety concern that will at some point cause serious injury to operator and other drivers on the road. honda must recall this feature immediately. we have also contacted the iowa atty general office to report issue.

Was stopped at a stop light and the traffic sign in the dashboard in the car showed the speed limit was 100mph when in fact the speed limit was 25mph as i was at a 4-way intersection .

Collision mitigation system would activate at random times even when there is nothing in front of the car and would slam on the brake when the vehicle is moving slowly at around 3 miles per hours in a driveway.

I have gotten the warning on my dash stating "collision mitigation braking system problem. see dealer" several times per week since putting about 1200 miles on the car (feb 2018). since seeing this warning my car will slam on the brakes at random (during highway and city driving) as if it detected a vehicle in front of me but there was no vehicle present. i have taken the car to the dealer several times and have gotten no solution. i have also called honda north america and filed a complaint and still have gotten nowhere. this issue could easily cause an accident and i have spoken with other owners having the same problem and even someone who has been rear-ended because of this.

On several occasions this cars collision mitigation system has applied the brakes without any reason and this is a very serious safety issue for the public at large and needs immediate attention from honda. i've seen some complaints about the 2017 and 2018 crv doing this exact same thing.

Airbag system not consistently activated with small adults (5'4", 110 lb. and 5'8", 115 lb.) passengers. have followed all troubleshooting steps, i.e. nothing obstructing seat, passenger sitting fully upright, etc. dealership and american honda state it is functioning as engineered even though owner's manual states plainly that it should function at > 65 lbs and adults should not ride in the seat if this occurs. occurs inconsistently while in motion and parked.

The tpms light comes on erroneously..while driving, light came on. ran the recalibrate function from the system screen - this takes about 30 minutes. this has happened three times - checked tire pressure and they're ok... 3435 psi...

The car randomly slams on brakes caused by the honda sensing collision mitigation system. this is very dangerous

On 3 seperate occasions the car has seen a shadow on the ground and slammed on brakes then releasing for no reason. there were no other vehicles around me on each occasion. i thought the car was stopping on a yellow light on the first incident but was told by the service manager that it doesn't do that. this is a very dangerous issue that needs to be addressed. i asked the service manager to disable it but was told he can't do that when it is possible because this is an added feature.

Parking sensor design failure. the parking sensor alarm intermittently goes off when the vehicle is traveling 5 mph or less, sometimes even when the vehicle is not moving. this failure in the system is a distraction to the driver causing the driver to stop what he/she is doing to identify the alarm. normally, this would not be an a major issue, however, when stopped waiting to turn left from one lane of traffic with little to no median, oncoming traffic will cause the system to constantly go off distracting the driver. there are also times when the vehicle is completely stopped and sitting behind another vehicle, that the system will again go off indicating the driver is about to hit an object even though the car is completely stationary. i took this vehicle to the local honda dealer only to be told there was nothing wrong with the system and the system was designed this way. this system is a distraction to drivers and very likely could cause sensory overload to drivers if not corrected.

Fuel tank cover did not open . vehicle was stationary.

Two computer screen issues: computer screen would list several warnings (brake system, lane departure ,blind spot indicator ,lights all shown to be a problem. trunk & turn signals, iphone connection were inoperable.car was stationary.

On a hot day while sitting stationary in my car with ac running, i heard a “pop” with a fizzle sound then smoke began to rise from the front of the dash where it meets the windshield. the vehicle stopped running [push to start], and all lights flashed on the dashboard. the all sensors began to emit error messages. i turned off and exited vehicle, popped the hood and smoke was also coming up from outside the car. the car was purchased in march 2018, and at time of incident had a little 6000 miles. after letting car sit for a few hours it started up, with error messages across the display..i.e. tpms, check engine, lkas,etc. i then had vehicle towed to nearest honda dealer, and the service people were unsure why a module in the dash burnt out; so they contacted honda corp. long story short they placed blame that a charger found in the bottom of my glove box caused it, which was never used in my car. to this day no one can answer me why a spontaneous fire started in my car while sitting still with ac running, but they refused to fix my car. this could have been a serious issue if the car was being driven at the time of this incident. photos show possible leakage on the wires, but no on wants to admit that there is a big problem at hand.

Collision mitigation breaking system fails during operation of adaptive cruise control. the vehicle will no longer verify if a collision is going to happen, and can cause the vehicle to collide with a forward vehicle.

Windshield wipers wouldn't work while driving in rain on highway. pulled over, went to service station, they had me turn car off and checked some fuses. then warning lights came on about the vehicle stability control, braking and various safety features. this morning when i started car and backed out of driveway the wipers started working but the warning lights are still on. took it to dealer this morning.

At 670 miles, i was driving slowly around a corner when i heard a long beep followed by a "collision mitigation braking system problem. see your dealer" message. the adaptive cruise control also stopped working. i restarted the car and the error went away. about a week later at 813 miles, i was driving in a straight road at 55 mph with the adaptive cruise control engaged when i heard a long beep, the adaptive cruise control disengaged, and i received the same error message as before. restarting the vehicle clears the error and allows the adaptive cruise control to work again until the next time it occurs. both times this has happened were on warm, sunny, clear days with dry roads and no obstructions in front of the radar or camera units. yesterday, the cmbs failed to alert me to a four-wheeler that drove across the street in front of me and it seems less sensitive at detecting other vehicles now - even when there are no error messages or warning indicators present.

While talking on the phone the display auto screen went blank and after a few minutes it rebooted. on may 29th, i took it to a local dealership and they couldn’t find a problem. soon as i left the dealership it happened again. this time when i got off the phone the audio display froze. i couldn’t get on the home screen, change the radio station. then after a few minutes it turned off and rebooted itself. i called the local dealership the next day to report the issue. i purchased the car in dec 2017and this incident happened more than once.

On may 25th, i was driving on the interstate when i noticed the brake warning light flashing on the dashboard. i was the only vehicle on the interstate when the brake warning light appeared. on may 29th, i took my car to a local dealership for an inspection. the dealer did not find any errors when they put it on the computer.

May 13th, 2018 driving on the highway doing 50-55 going eastbound on the bay bridge in san francisco -“out of no where” the electric parking brake came on! and i didn’t push no buttons! not quite sure of the malfunctioning, but it cost an accident’ cause someone hit me from behind! also my airbags didn’t deploy, but when honda link assistant called and we was told- “they sense an accident cause of deployed airbags.” i’m afraid to drive a car that nearly killed us.

I don’t know if my previous report went through, so this is a second attempt! within a week of getting the brand new vehicle we noticed a severe windshield problem! when we turned into the setting sun, the passengers side of the windshield looked like shattered glass! it severely hampered vision to that side. when we turned the other direction, it looked normal! it happened again, under the same conditions. we brought it to the dealership today. the head of the service department said he had never seen anything like it in 30 + years! he could see the problem with a flashlight! he said we need a new windshield, that the original one is defective . i will enclose photos.

At higher rates of speed, the front hood vibrates significantly. not only is this annoying but it is also frightening. i thought that hood was about to fly off the vehicle when i was traveling out of state. i even contacted honda dealers where i was to see if i could get someone to look at this on an emergency basis. when i got home, i took back to my dealer and i was told that they rearranged a seal but also that is what 2018 honda accords do...they vibrate. basically, i was told that there was nothing they could do about the problem. the issue remains.

The traffic sign recognition doesn't always display the correct speed. it has displayed 100mph in a 65 on i-40 going from north little rock, ar. west. i do have a pic of it. different areas it will either display the incorrect speed or not display it at all. my honda dealer checked it out, stated it was working correctly. it does at time, at times it doesn't. i have talked with honda, they stated there are various factors that can interfere with the camera reading the signs. this happens on city streets, access roads & the interstate. it's intermittent.

The transmission does not shift correctly on the 10speed it jerks and shutters all the time in first thru 5 th gear the brake booster makes a clicking noise when stopping movin it from drive to park to neutral the transmission shutters when in several gears and bangs you head against the head rest the rear seat leather was bit stitched correctly

Bought this car on march 30,2018 new at great lakes honda in akron , ohio. as soon as i drove home , i noticed that the engine accelerate . did not feel safe. took it to the honda store in youngstown , ohio on 4/10/2018. 10 days later, the dealer does not know what is wrong with the car. do not believe that the car is safe. called the selling dealer( great lakes honda) several times and left messages .they never called me back.ti believe they know there is something wrong with then car.

Brakes are very touchy and when braking pedal sometimes goes all the way to the floor. car does not stop smoothly and it seems to have different stages when breaking. it also jerks when when lightly touching break while at a stop light and slowly moving forward.

I engaged acc, that controls cruise control and frontal collision ,mitigation system, in normal traffic. while travelling at a speed of 60 miles per hour, following another car the spacing was controlled by acc. the car in front of me continued forward, my braking system engaged and caused me to go from 60 mph to about 35 mph. the vehicle to my rear had to take an evasive maneuver to avoid an accident. i saw no road debris. i pulled over to check the radar unit and the camera system. no issues observed. during this trip the acc went offline 3 times down to sc and twice it failed driving back home. each time i was in traffic and caused issues as the system was trying to manage my speed in traffic.

Fuel is leaking into the engine oil causing the vehicle to be overfilled

2018 accord touring 2.0 about 1800 miles on it. the car shifts very rough in the first 3-4 gears when the car is cold. also happens at times when its warmer. one dealer claimed to have fixed it with a honda approved break-in procedure. it did not solve the issue. it has happened each day i drive the car since i first got it about a month ago.

Electronic braking system error popped up, which suggested taking the car to a dealership. the car was parked for 2 days and the engine would not start with this error.

Collusion control does not work consistently while in motion and does not recognize children when stationary

I have experienced a failure in the aac system almost resulting in a front collision. i was on the interstate the other afternoon with aac and lkas engaged on my 2018 accordt touring with 18000 miles it was 89°f i was in traffic but cruising at a steady 65 mph when the traffic in front of me started to slow. it was at this moment that the dashboard threw the error message "collision mitigation braking system error. please see your dealer." luckily was able to apply brakes almost has a crash went home and the next morning error was gone did again when i driving few weeks later and recently on february 15th 2019 i almost had another crash because of the same issue went to the dealer they hold the car for 1 and half week can’t find any issue and got car back on march 8th after driving 5-6 miles got same problem turn off the car and turned on again after driving another 7-8 miles same problem called the dealer they want me to bring the car back when the message still appearing on the screen other way they telling to take risk of crashing car before they can help me called honda customer service got same response

I bought a new accord in september 2018, there was noise in the car, the engine also had abnormal sounds, terrible dealers, terrible service, terrible american honda! they can't solve the problem, just shirk each other's responsibility! recently i found that the lane keep system is not working properly.i have already gone to the honda service station 10 times for these questions! but they just told me that these are not problems. it€™s just unacceptable.

While driving i received error code advising that the collision mitigation system had failed and i should see a dealership for service. after stopping and turning off the vehicle the error message went away and system was showing to be functioning. 2 weeks later while driving at slow speed in my neighborhood i got the same error message. again, stopped and started the vehicle and message goes away.

I have had several occurrences of a warning that states "collision mitigation braking system problem. please see your dealer." this error message will pop up randomly with no pattern while using the advanced cruise control function on my vehicle. while this error is present i am not able to use any kind of cruise control settings. i was have seen my local honda dealer about this issue multiple times and have been given many horrible solutions. i have been told to just pull the vehicle over and restart it to clear the errors out. i have also been told by my local dealership that the camera is just dirty and that i need to carry a bottle of water and a rag to wipe off the windshield anytime it happens. i have tried both of these solutions several times and neither has worked. in fact every time i attempt to turn off and restart my vehicle i have eight other safety system failure messages that populate.

I got my first crack on my windshield 2 weeks after buying it. never heard the rock hit it . it was a very teeny tiny nick and turned into a long crack across my windshield. the second crack was today. a rock came from a semi truck traveling in the lane next to me as i was passing on the left side lane. immediately after the rock hit. the windshield cracked. i have a line splitting across my passenger side and now another along the driver side. it seems the glass is made very poorly. the windshield cracks easily. i have owned a ton of vehicles. rocks hit the windshield from time to time and never caused a crack across my windshield. a nick maybe yes, but not an instant crack that will not stop.

I was driving on the freeway when the traffic came to a sudden stop and my emergency collision mitigation braking kicked in. i proceeded to press the brakes myself and the computer automatically locked the brakes and would not release for nearly seven seconds. i was completely stopped on the freeway and almost rear-ended due to the brakes not releasing. i pressed the gas several times and press the brakes to try to release it but nothing worked until the brakes eventually released themselves about 7 seconds later.

At only 4,200 miles my 2018 honda accord sport 1.5l turbo began having an extremely annoying steering issue. it is noticeable at all speeds, but is truly significant at highway speeds. the steering needs to be corrected about every 10 seconds, moving it slightly to the right, then 10 seconds later, slightly to the left, over and over again for the entire trip. on long trips the issue is almost unbearable as i spend the whole time correcting the steering. i've had many cars in the past that have needed wheel alignments, but this is a totally different feel. the steering wheel (or wheels) seem to actually stick slightly when slightly moving it to the right or left. after putting enough pressure on the the steering wheel, it will all of a sudden move but never in a smooth manner, again it seems slightly stuck and then jerks to the side that i'm trying to correct to. i've now had two tire rotations (thinking maybe it was a tire problem) and even paid for a wheel alignment, but the problem remains the same. i really hope there is an eventual solution to this problem as it is extremely annoying.

Cmbs problem... was driving on the highway yesterday when the "collision mitigation breaking system" light came on and that disabled the acc i was using. nothing particular happened, maybe i was braking at the time. i arrived at destination. turn the car off and back again right away to see the warning light disappear and everything back to normal. i thought i was ok but it happened few hours later on the way back in the same circumstances.

Bought the car in aug. 2018. the steering issue is intermittent and hard to duplicate. can best be described as a "notch" or "frozen" or "stuck" feeling in the steering while going straight, the steering wheel seems to be stuck in the position and almost have to apply more pressure than usual to get it to move. in the 7 months of driving, i would say its happen no less than 20 times. there are a lot of people on the 2018 honda accord forums complaining about this. saying that honda acts like they don't know about it, but they appear to be replacing the whole steering rack as a solution (which has a different part #). i have not taken it to my local dealer because it took them 4 tries to install my heated steering wheel correctly and i am just wasting my time without a recall or tsb. on behalf of many 2018 honda accord owners, this problem needs to be addressed. i am not sure if it is a safety issue, but could potentially get worse i guess and harder to move the steering wheel out the "notch" resulting in an accident or worse.

Since the vehicle reached approximately 5000 miles, i had a massive safety failure of the "honda sense" system shutting down, hazard & turn signals inoperative, power locks inoperative, brake system warning light on, loss of auto headlights and information screen. vehicle was taken to the dealrship and they retrieved trouble code which is a "mystery code" that honda does not know why its occuring .... radar told car to accelerate when vehicle was not in motion u0401-92 along with 3 other codes. dealership showed me printout from computer but customer receipt said reset system only and did not list out trouble codes (4 codes retrieved) vehicle now stops intermittently while driving at highway speeds, pulls itself out of the lane while driving, and apple car play system no longer will recognize iphones (tried multiple) and dealer has verified issue but just resets. infotainment screen lost power and set warning message for same when dropped off again at dealership 2/26/19. dealer in florida also had car, said nothing wrong, could not duplicate and vehicle never left dealership and carplay did not work after they claimed it was fine. also found that entire system was reset and rebooted, causing loss of all settings and stored information/stations....why reboot if its working? vehicle now being driven with honda sense system off due to fear of collision or accident caused by vehicle and not driver. this vehicle is now unsafe to drive. multiple complaints about vehicle braking on its own, flashing "brake" warning to driver when no car in front ... happens local and highway driving now intermittently. vehicle has been in dealerships approximately 4-5 times since inital electrical failure 12/24/19. email contact and several phone calls to hma already. original electrical failure happened 12/23/28 and i have been dealing with since. also have snapshots

In colder weather, the vehicle makes a drone like humming noise, similar to running a wet finger around a wine glass except louder. if i open the window it stops, it also stops below 5 mph. it is very distracting, i almost went off the road trying to figure out where the noise is coming from. the dealer is telling me it's the speakers, but why would it stop when the window is open. i believe it's the active noise cancellation anc - once the vehicle warms up 15 - 20 minutes the noise stops. i feel this is a known safety hazard that honda is trying to figure out. one dealership told me the "engineers are working on it, but no fix at this time". this is a brand new vehicle and it isn't stopping. seems like honda is hoping for warmer weather but that is not right. please help.

Steering wheel sticks while driving at highway speeds. first noticed on a long trip from virginia to nj and thought it was a one-time thing. however, the problem continued on the return trip. problem presents itself initially as the steering wheel seems "frozen" in place. to correct the normal drift, driver must "break" the steering wheel free from the frozen position to correct the drift. this is a continual condition as the steering wheel returns instantly to its frozen state and must be continually un-stuck during the duration of the trip - going from stuck to un-stuck back to stuck. trip was made during cold, rainy, and sometimes lightly snowy conditions. car is currently at dealership and is being driven home by technicians in an attempt to induce the fault. turned off all systems suspected of affecting this condition - adaptive cruise control, honda sensing, land departure warning, etc. problem exists whether these features are engaged or not. the presence of this condition make me very uneasy about driving this car on the highway at 55+ mph as i don't know if the steering wheel is going to just lock up and not break free from its stuck condition.

On 2/14/19, i was driving on a city street in a straight line at approximately 40mph. the car ahead of me stopped. i stepped on the brake and instantly the dashboard warnings lit up - adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, and the brake - and the brake did not work so i could not stop. i rear-ended the car in front of me doing significant damage to the front of my car. the warnings were still visible after the crash and i took pictures of the dashboard as best as possible. the warnings say something about system not working and to see a dealer. the same warnings appeared on 2/13/19 in the afternoon but disappeared on 2/14/19 in the morning. other warnings of safety systems not active have appeared due to ice/slush but then cleared when the sensors were cleared, but these new warnings are different. at least twice, maybe three times in the past few months, the car would suddenly brake and slow down with nothing in the road or in front of the car. my bluetooth connectivity worked fine for first 2-3 months but then stopped and i couldn't reconnect the phone over the past two months. it seems like more than one system/electronics problem and seems like the warnings appeared at the same time as the brake not working as if it was more than an alert but a system (systems) no longer functioning at all. the brake worked after the accident when the car was restarted.

Car is 2 weeks old and i've had the cmbs which controls the autobraking and adaptive cruise control go off 4 times with the failure warning and to see the dealer for inspection. each time was under a different set of environments including at night, a cloudy day, rain, and sunny. it seems to fail within 10 mins of the first time the adaptive cruise is set. the green light that indicates the system is working goes off and turns to orange. i've contacted the dealer for repair but online searching shows both dealers and honda do not have a fix.

At higher speeds the steering wheel is "sticking" when driving straight. it becomes "frozen" and requires an additional bit of force to adjust the steering wheel. this makes highway driving very annoying (and somewhat dangerous). this seems to happen more often at higher temperatures.

1) when depressing the brake in motion or from a parked position there is a “clicking” noise that happens intermittently. it sounds like a gear is stuck or something is stuck. it doesn’t happen every time but it happens often enough that it is noticeable and does not sound like a normal noise. 2) honda sensing light will flash even when no object is approaching and will continue to flash.

My collision mitigation system randomly fails which pops up an alert and disables my adaptive cruise control and automatic braking. it has happened various times when adaptive cruise control has been engaged with different environemental situatuons (day and night, sunny and cloudy). turning off the engine and restarting typically corrects the issue for a time but it continues to fail intermently.

Accord front chrome grill is bubbling up. noticed it after 1 day of purchase. car was is my driveway when i have noticed the bubbling. other owners have noticed the same thing and have had the part replaced under warranty. when i tried to take it to a dealer, they refused to change the part under warranty.

After my "brake system" light came on and the dealership denied it even though i had record of it, my car decided to see how fast it could hit the brakes. i was driving on the us-60 in phoenix, arizona with adaptive cruise control on, traveling at 65 mph during morning rush hour, so it’s still dark, on a 6 lane freeway. i can see brake lights far ahead, so i lightly tap my brakes to disengage acc and slightly slow the car down. the car had other plans and the brakes completely locked up like it was using the emergency braking for collision mitigation— but no warning/info showed on the dashboard as it normally does when emergency systems engage. so basically my car decided it wanted to slam on its brakes in the middle of a busy freeway, near bumper to bumper traffic, all because i lightly touched the brakes-- it was not abrupt, it was not a hard push... it was literally to turn off acc. i watched the rear view mirror as the suv behind me was about to put my trunk in the engine compartment, but thankfully they were able to swerve into the hov lane next to us. they barely missed me and if that open spot was not there for them, i’d likely be seriously injured or dead. honda has ignored my messages and it's time to let our government know this car has issues.

Brakes do not stop smoothly, there is a dead spot in the brake pedal that takes extra pressure to get the car to stop. makes the car stop suddenly when trying to brake smoothly. dealer acknowledged the problem and replaced the master cylinder with no fix and now dealer says they neex to wait for american honda to allow them to replace the brake booster that have been successful for others on honda forums

Loud clunk is consistently heard and felt every time the brake pedal is released after being depressed. the noise is more pronounced in cold weather and can be heard above the radio and road noise. the loud clunk sound occurs whether or not the car is moving, or the engine is running or the ignition/accessory power is turned on. the noise can be consistently reproduced and emanates from the firewall area under the dash where the brake pedal linkage attaches to the brake booster.

Brakes pedal making a loud thumping sound. dealer will not fix. since it involves brakes i feel it should be investigated further.

The brakes are very touchy. feels like rear brake bias is very strong. braking smoothly is impossible. dangerous on slick roads. when i took it to the dealer, the tech drove the car and said brakes were normal. we drove another accord and it also had touchy brakes. i have never drove a car with brakes this touchy. i had about 200 miles at the time. i now have 7000 miles and they have not gotten any better.

I have a cold star grinding noise . it happens always at first start of the day or cold start .the noise is from vtc actuator

The braking system hesitates and grabs. it is like there are several stages or steps in the brake. it is almost impossible to stop smoothly. as you press the brake pedal in, the car doesn't slow normally until you hit a "step" or "notch" and then it just slows down rapidly and you go forward in your seat. this problem began as the vehicle had around 400 miles on it. the vehicle did not have the problem when i took it off the lot the first time, and other new accords i have driven do not have the problem.

Three times during the first 1500 miles the collision mitigation braking system has failed, disabling that feature and adaptive cruise control, displaying a large diagnostic on the electronic dashboard and telling me to see my dealer. in all cases i was driving in normal traffic on northern california freeways at cruising speed (twice on 101, once on 80). the first two failures occurred during daytime, the third at night. the weather in all cases was normal (no rain, snow, mud, ...) .when i visited the dealer after the first two occurrences (when the car is turned off and then back on the condition clears) the dealer found no diagnostic codes or other problems. then the problem occurred a third time. the dealer and honda corporate say they have no idea how to fix it because of the absence of diagnostic codes.

I am experiencing brake pedal issues. as i put pressure on to slow down, at any speed, it feels like the brake pedal gets "stuck", then it grabs hard and lurches you forward in your seat. as i relieve my foot off and put pressure back on, it does the same thing: the pedal seems to go down in "stages". i cannot brake in a normal, smooth fashion. i have taken the car to the dealer that i bought it from twice in 2 weeks and they have stated both times that none of their staff can duplicate the problem and it has not been resolved as of 3/7/18. the problem was first documented with around 200 miles on the car.

Serious crash control problem. i was driving on the interstate freeway in heavy traffic and a car cut in front of me. as i was trying to avoid an accident a large "brake" image appeared on my speedometer display distracting my eyes away from the road. the "safety feature" almost caused me to have a crash. i asked the dealership to disable the collision prevention system but they said they could not. this "safety technology" almost caused me to be in a serious accident by distracting me from the road.

Whenever i put the car in gear and start driving forward a liability notice comes up on the large display screen asking me to read it and push ok - signifying that i read the message and certifying that i will be a safe driver (while driving). this is a serious safety distraction. i asked my honda dealer to remove it and they said they could not as it provided liability protection for honda. this "legal notice" causes distracted driving.

Problem with fuel filler lid actuator assembly freezes causes inability to push in and open the fuel door. dealer contends this is a known issue but no eta on repair. i have been unable to locate other complaints similar to this online and honda has not responded directly to a ticket opened on their customer service site.

I purchased brand new my 2018 honda accord sport dec 28 2017 i have 1450 miles currently on the car and the brake pressure has been lost. when applying breaks at highway speed its not as noticeable but around town at 45mph when applying the breaks there is dead space then full brake kicks in which makes others think you are brake checking them. when going to the forums and to this website i saw other complaining about the brake booster failures. i went to the dealership. they advised yes the vehicle has a failed brake booster and is on a national back order. i am currently driving my new car with a failed booster waiting on honda to fix it. i hope this is safe that that my brand new car isn't being damaged waiting for this part.

Last service check, approx 1 week, showed battery partially discharged (marked as "failed" and "replace" on the service report. no apparent reason. today, after a rainy day and not using the car the day before, found the car locked as always but all four windows were down. this is the second occurrence. the first time was 2 months ago when a neighbor called to tell me the windows were down. the car was locked then as well, it was also after a rainy day. in both occurrences, there was no water in the vehicle or on the seats.

When driving more than 25 miles in a day my steering wheel will stiffen up and then it will release with a jerking like motion ( almost similar to a rack and pinion issue in an older vehicle). it progresses throughout the drive making it difficult to continue the trip. honda has been made aware of this and said it’s the way the suspension is set up, however it shouldn’t be stiffening up and jerking as it could cause an accident to happen. honda is currently in possession of the accord trying to determine if there’s anything they can do. they’ve had the car for 17 days as of this posting. with all that said, i keep all the driving support features disabled. this steering issue happens on city streets and highways during the time of maintaining a certain speed from 25+ mph. it’s quite scary to drive under these circumstances. the 2nd issue i’ve reposted since purchasing the accord is i also have to keep the collision mitigation braking system turned off when as soon as i remember to disable it after each startup as i’ve had sudden stops by the car at a nearby railroad track and a highway sign that goes across a major highway in texas which i was going 45mph. due to the fact it thinks there’s something in front of me and stops the car. i’ve had whiplash twice from the cmbs system alerting the car to come to a complete hault. i’ve been fortunate that no one was behind at the times of these incidents, but one day i may not be so lucky.

Vehicle was stationary and off .doors would not unlock with remote or manual. only driver's door with the remote. also auto lock/unlock didn't work in park and drive. started the car and the instrument panel flashed warnings of: lane keeping assist system problem. see your dealer., road departure mitigation system problem. see your dealer. auto high beam problem. see your dealer. automatic lighting control system problem. see your dealer. i let the car sit for a half hour. doors unlocked with remote with no problem. started car and all was back to normal. took the car to my honda dealer to advise them of this issue and showed them a youtube video of other owners who had the exact same issue with no explanation of why or remedy. my honda dealer had not had anyone else come in with my cars issue as of today 11/30/2018. honda dealer checked my battery and it is perfect, 12.3 volts, measured:640cca, rated: 550cca. my car has only 6,388 miles, purchased 5/23/2018. pretty scary and not happy this has happened with a new car.

As i was pulling out the garage from the san francisco international airport heading towards the highway to san francisco the miles per hour is 30 entering and then 65 mph when you get on highway. the dash board indicates the wrong miles for speed it said 100 mph. it stayed like that for more than 5 mins. i already had a previous situation with this vehicle where the braking systems engaged as i was on highway in 05/13/2018, and almost caused my life and others behind me, there was significant damage from being rear ended and over 18k worth of damage but honda dealer keep saying nothing was found faulty! i had them turn “off” all safety modes cause i’m afraid it will happen again but it keeps coming back “on”. it yanked me several times when no other car is around me. the braking light appeared several times already since i got it back, and it’s like they don’t believe you. now after all this i’m stuck with a faulty car i’m really thinking about getting a lawyer on this. and my speakers seem not to be right either the sounding is very low compared to when i got it. only 2000 miles and this car been a pain . physically and mentally! and did i mention that my airbags didn’t work from first incident i reported. after car was crushed in from being hit from behind . nope they failed too.

Adaptive cruise control(acc) stops working with error "collision mitigation braking system problem. see your dealer."i was driving on interstate at 60mph with acc on and suddenly the error pops out. error goes way when you restart the car. but repeats again intermittently. you cannot use acc again until you restart the car.

I live in rochester ny and even with very light snow that is not even collecting on the roadway i get an urgent notification that crash avoidance and any radar based safety systems are compromised and not available at this time. this is due to the radar unit being interfered with snow collection as it is in the shape of a square cup and it collects snow like a scoop. there is no heating element on the unit at all to keep it clear of snow and it's location is such that it is rendered totally useless in any snow what so ever. bmw, mercedes and audi all either have hidden their units behind items that are heated for northern climates or the radar unit itself is gently heated below a particular temperature to avoid loosing all safety systems. this is simply not acceptable in a modern car and i would ask nhtsa to look into with honda recalling all northern cars to change the radar unit to a heated version or to relocate it behind an emblem or something that doesn't collect snow like a scoop. it is a very poor design and impacts all distance and crash avoidance systems present on the vehicle. this is a 2.0 touring edition with every available option so it is not for a lack of spending money for safety that's for sure. the dealer said they have received many complaints about this same issue and are telling people it's made that way and frankly the sensor should be heated in northern climates. nice!

New honda accord 2.0t with 10-speed automatic transmission shifts very rough and slow from 2nd to 3rd gear. this issue has been well documented on honda accord owner forums and acura rdx owner forums (the two vehicles share the same engine and transmission). the vehicle normally shifts hard from 2nd to 3rd, but occasionally it is very slow to engaged 3rd gear and then slams into gear. it's very strange how it feels. it can cause there to be a hesitation when trying to rapidly accelerate out into traffic and feels like it's damaging the transmission. vehicle has been taken to leith honda of raleigh who advised there's no tsb or campaign from honda to resolve this issue. there is however a video that acura has posted for their service technicians advising them to follow a "clutch break in procedure" to resolve the rough shifting.

Two separate issues: 1) with only 2,400 miles on the accord, on october 7, 2018 it suddenly lost power 2 or 3 times over a 60-mile stretch of the busy 405 freeway, each time slowing from 65 mph to approximately 30 mph or less despite maintaining even pressure on the accelerator. the car did not respond to pressure on the gas pedal. no cruise control was used at any time. the sudden deceleration could have caused a serious accident. 2) on november 30, 2018, i attempted to resume motion after stopping for a red light. the accord's gas pedal failed to respond for approximately 5 to 6 seconds, then suddenly lurched forward. this also could have caused a serious accident.

Cpsc: purchased a brand new 2018 honda accord, approximately a month after purchasing it, the passenger side door would not open. i took it to the dealership , they said something must have impacted the door(though there were no marks or dents of any kind). *dt *js

I was driving on the interstate on 11/21/2018 and i heard a very loud sound. i thought to myself, "what was that?" i looked up and saw my sunroof shattered and broken pieces of glass in my passenger's seat. i have no idea what caused this incident. i did not see any flying objects and i thought it was the strangest thing. i pulled the sunroof shade to close-out the noise and drove home. i'm trying to rationalize this event and i am still unable to make sense of it. i decided to search the internet and it appears that a lot of people have had this issue. i purchased my 2018 honda accord almost 7 months ago and i can't believe something like this has happened. i believe this might be factory defect, but i don't know how to prove it. i contacted my insurance company to file a claim, but i will be responsible for the $500 deductible.

Fuel dilution in motor oil. bought the car new, checked dipstick, oil level is up past the upper line and smells of gas. sent a sample of motor oil for testing and came back high for fuel % in oil. this is not acceptable for a brand new car with only 1700 miles! the car is driven an average of 40 miles a day, so short trips is not a factor. changed oil using honda filter and mobil 1 0w-20 to spec, and after 500 miles, oil level is up and smells of gas again. attached is the used oil analysis at 1700 miles.

While in motion in reverse my camera did not work properly and i struck another vehicle while turning slightly.

Strong odor of gasoline in the engine and rising oil level. car doesn't even have 200 miles on it! this is not what i had expected from a honda.

I got the recall letter regarding safety recall for reprogramming of rearview image for free. i went to tenafly honda dealer in nj with a scheduled appointment. they told me that i had to see the manager before recall check up. for 20 minutes later, he said my car is not for the recall. there as re several customers are the same situations like me. he printed out that there is no recall. i highly suspicious that. i have a recall letter but they are saying that my car is not recall. when i come to see nhtsa website to check my vinyl number, it shows 0 but shows 11.3.2018 updated information. please investigate this if they just updated the system without really checking the car at all. what did they update the system while refusing my recall service? i saw others had the same situation. they turned the people away from recall service while they are saying there is no recall. i am not sure about this. i hope they don't fraud on people' recalls on cars. this is related to the person's life and safely. my car is fine but i want to make sure on my recall status. dealer never checked my car at all regarding recall.

Tire pressure monitoring system (tpms) will unexpectedly show that a tire(s) are underinflated when they are not. the times that this has happened to my vehicles were on the highway at 65 mph speeds.

I was driving down a busy road in my town and no cars were in front of me and i did not lane departure at all and the car suddenly came to a complete stop almost for no reason thankfully no cars were behind me. this also happened again when i was on the freeway there was no car in front of me and the car behind me was coming up fast luckily they noticed my car braking and got over. sometimes my computer system shuts off and my radio and my whole dash if frozen i can’t do the touchsceeen or any of the side buttons as none of it will work they only way for it work is to turn my car off and turn it back on. the backup camera also takes a while to go on i put my car in reverse and the screen is black and i put it in park and reverse again and it works perfectly fine.

Since purchasing the vehicle in july and especially over the course of the last two months the car has been exhibiting errors with the cpu (honda sensing) system on board. the transmission also seems to exhibit issues which i have taken up with the dealership on two occasions where it appears to shift hard under light acceleration and even under passing power. also, upon accelerating, the car will seem to bog down like it has a air intake issue(sensation feeling) it does it from stop and go at times and also when at speed. i have noticed that when it rains it seems to be even more pronounced as well. the other issue has been the honda sensing. as of late i have found myself turning off certain "safety" features out of fear of them malfunctioning after two freak incidents. twice when at speeds on the hwy, the emergency mitigating brake has engaged with no traffic around or in front me, basically slamming on the brakes which is extremely dangerous another time the steering has tried to yank me into another lane thinking i have gone off the road, the road mitigation system. these issues could have proven very dangerous in both situations if vehicles were next to me or behind me and these issues with a brand new car are not making me feel safe to drive the car. also, another new item which i have caught on camera is the radio head unit has now began to shut off intermittently during normal operation for no apparent reason or cause. i have had the recall on the back up camera completed already. but these errors still continue. the car is going to the dealership on thursday, 11/7/2018 to get these looked into, but this is the 3rd time the car has had to go to the dealership since purchase in july for non regular maintenance. i am going to only deal with this a few more times before i hire a lemon law attorney.

Steering wheel shimmies and shakes at speeds over 60 mph on highway. car pulls out of lane w/o driver doing anything. driver assistance notice appears on screen. 'lane departure' 'steering required' is the message. occurs w/o warning sometimes 10 times within 15 minutes, other times less often. unpredictability leaves driver tense! was told by mechanic honda issued warning about this problem : ja02922. i have not been able to locate online. mechanic said dealership needs to test drive and do a force or phase matching. is this car safe to drive? do factory tires need replacement? we have 5000 miles on it and are driving across country to move from al to co...very stressful.

Driving down the road at 75 miles an hour and the brake system engaged. no cars around. had another vehicle (especially tractor trailer) there would have been a serious collision. i do not want this vehicle anymore. dealer says its not a warranty problem. serious safety concerns

Automatic emergency braking took car from 60 to 0 on highway (route 65n in nashville). luckily no one was behind me (it was 6am) or i could have been rear-ended. i could not accelerate or control the car at this point and came to a complete stop. this is the second time this has happened in the last month. this turns a touted safety feature into a hazardous feature. planning on a dealer visit this friday

“takata recall” my trunk will not open by key fob or by pressing the button along side the driver door. i have to manually use my key inside the back passenger seat where there’s an key lock area to open the trunk.

Wife was driving on interstate in the left hand lane about 75 mph when a yellow light appeared on the dash and car lost engine power. wife is unsure which yellow light came on due it happening so fast. she coasted across three lanes and made it to the shoulder. car was towed to dealer and they cannot find anything wrong with it. there is 700 miles on the car. dealer said it may have been road debris that caused collision mitigation braking system to take control of the car but nothing was recorded in the edr unit. very unsafe.

The rear body of the car starts to rust. it's just purchased about 2 weeks. the rust dots are almost everywhere on the rear body. they appear on ceiling, on doors, and the cover of truck.

Trunk would not open, blinkers and wipers would not work, all on board sensors (lane departure, backup detection, etc.) would not operate. several error warnings presented on dash in regards to safety sensors not working. had to stop at dealership and they reset the car computer. safety issue w/wipers and blinkers not working.

The first night i took ownership of car, the engine light blinked and the car lost power, and became a brick. had to turn car the off, start it, and began to function normally. car showed 3 misfire codes on my scanner p0301, p0304, p0300. this happened several times, the dealership told me the first time nothing is wrong with the car. they checked the computer and it shows nothing happened. reluctant to take the car i was, but lia brewster honda was very forceful and took the loaner back. not even two nights later the car did it twice in one drive cycle. every time this happens in the rain. lia brewster honda has my car now for quite some time and no one can figure out what is wrong. i am upset that they told me my car was safe, i have a 9 month old daughter that is the world to me. i explained this and still was not taken into consideration. my car is still there, and no sign of being fixed. only paid one payment on the car. they took my car due to the fact i video taped this happening. i feel the car is unsafe for my family, hope this isn’t something that becomes a trend with 2018 honda 2.0t. people’s safety is a number one priority. very upset i was told nothing wrong with my car, and was puts in an unsafe condition.

Immediately after purchasing the vehicle in charleston, sc, i made a trip to atlanta. during the round trip i noticed on several occasions after making a stop, such as at a traffic light, when the light turned green and i pressed the accelerator there was no response. after 4 or 5 seconds the engine accelerated at such a rate that it was difficult to control. i knew that this problem was potentially very dangerous. in fact, i told my wife that she should never drive the car until this problem was resolved. after returning home from atlanta i took my car into the service department at rick hendricks’s honda in charleston, sc where i purchased the car. i explained the problem to the service technician and after several hours he told me that they had tested the car and that the problem i had was inherent to this accord and i would have to live with it. he told me that i had been driving the car in econ mode and that this problem would not happen if econ mode was “off”. so, i turned econ mode “off” and began driving the car off the dealer lot and when i stopped at the first stop sign and then began proceeding, there was no response when i pressed the accelerator. i refuse to accept the fact that i have purchased a new car and have to live with a defect that the dealer says “it is just the way your 2018 honda accord works”. i am driving an automobile that potentially might cause injury to myself, passengers in my car, and other vehicles as well.

2018 honda accord exl. 1565 miles on odometer. weather was sunny and 89°f. i was driving vehicle on the interstate at approximately 65 mph with acc and lkas activated but being closely monitored as this feature is new to me. as the traffic was slowing down ahead the instrument cluster displayed "collision mitigation braking system problem. see your dealer" error message. i had to quickly apply the brakes to avoid a collision with the car in front of me. in the process of notifying dealership to seek out a solution. very worried about this as a system designed to prevent front collisions almost caused one!

The check tpms system light comes on. tire pressure is fine.

I purchased the car july 3rd, 2018. driving on a trip at around 900 miles and had the adaptive cruise control engaged. the car made a beeping sound and the cruise control powered off. a message came up stating collision mitigation breaking system needed to be serviced. the cruise would not come back on. when i arrived at the destination i turned the car off, and upon turning it back on the warning was gone. i drove home with no problem.

My car `collision mitigation braking system` has gone out several times. my car has rattling sound from the sound system in cold days. my car also has rattling sound when driving on road bumps.

Similar to nhtsb complaint id# 11111897, vehicle lost power while in motion on 7/21/208 on highway in congestion while raining. it has since been towed to honda dealership where currently undergoing repair work. i was told fuel injectors needed replacement under warranty. i hope this solves the issue and does not happen again as i was put in a potentially dangerous situation that afternoon.

When i crank car and pull off it jumps real hard and say collision mitigation system failure see dealer. i shouldn’t have to keep turning brand new car off for it to do right. please recall all accords very bad honda this one is horrible. vehicle was on a regular street good condition miami fl. the side mirrors shake all the time. the music always take time to load. defect in whole car please please recall before injury.

Just like others have said, i'm also having an issue with the sensitivity of my brake pedal. the brake feels like there are steps to it instead of a smooth linear pedal. i have never driven a car with a brake pedal like this. from the first stop leaving the dealership after buying my 2018 honda accord 1.5, i knew something was wrong with the brakes. the pedal feels binary like the brakes are either on or off and not smooth and linear. it's either full brake or no brake and no in between. there are steps to the brake pedal and it makes it impossible to brake smoothly. this has caused back pain and if the accord i test drove felt that way, i would have never bought one. i drove a friend's 18 accord and it didn't feel that way at all. it's been to the dealer twice now and i told them the brake booster is likely the issue and they've just pushed back with "it feels fine" or "it needs to break in". will be opening a complaint with honda of america.

Vehicle loses power on a highway in congestion when it is raining

I was driving straight down a residential street, accelerating and the braking system automatically stopped the vehicle and the transmission automatically went into neutral. the car motor was still running but the car was inoperable. the gearshift indicated the car to be in drive but would not accelerate. i moved through the automatic gear shift selections but nothing happened. the dash brake failure contact dealer light appeared, then transmission failure contact dealer warning light appeared. i called the dealership and was instructed to turn the car off and restart, which i did. the car restarted, there were no warning lights and i was able to drive the one block to home. the dealer told me to drive it to the dealership which i did not do as i did not feel it was safe. it was fortunate i was not on a freeway or in traffic as i most likely would have been rear ended because it came to a complete stop unexpectedly; for no apparent reason and no notice like brake stop lights to warn other drivers the car was stopping. i had the car towed to the dealership. i was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced.

Takata recall my windshield cracked by itself when i turned the car on , while sitting on my garage. and it has no chip on it like when rocks hit it i had only drove it twice only

I have revcieved the "collision mitigation braking system problem" multiple times. i have taken it to the dealer and they adjusted the brake and did a software update but i continue to get the same problem.

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 honda accord. when the vehicle was started, the passenger air bag warning indicator failed to illuminate “off”. the contact also mentioned that the dashboard vibrated on the passenger side while driving; however, the vibration stopped when the brake pedal was depressed. the contact stated that the vehicle was repaired twice for the vibration failure at honda windward (45-671 kamehameha hwy, kaneohe, hi 96744, (808) 247-8544). the dealer stated that a new air conditioning belt was taped onto the unit. the belt was covered with foam to keep it attached to the unit. as the belt pressed against the air conditioning unit it made a noise and, coupled with an unknown object under the dashboard, caused a vibration. the air bag failure was not diagnosed. neither the air bag or vibration failure was repaired. the manufacturer was not informed of the failures. the failure mileage was 1,090. *tt

Terrible pain in legs, especially left leg, and buttocks when driving this car. have tried every variation of seat adjustments (and do have lumbar support) and pillows, but no help. my physical therapist says it is best to sit with spine and legs at 90 degrees, head straight on top of spine. this car seat forces head forward and butt lower than knees. after several months, i gave up -making me miserable. i was luckily able to go back to old car which is more comfortable. it can't be safe to drive when in this much pain. i have also tried most of the other iihs tsp sedans and would really like to have the newer safety devices (like back up camera, adaptive cruise, lane keeping assist, blind spot alerts) but all seem to be just as uncomfortable. can't our engineers manage to meet safety and comfort needs? thanks.

Vehicle exhibited electronic brake booster failure after less than 100 miles of driving. the brake pedal has a hard "step" in it, and grabs very suddenly once the step is overcome. this makes smooth braking, especially when coming to a stop, nearly impossible. the suggested fix is to replace the electronic brake booster (01469-tva-a24). the new brake booster should return the brake pedal to normal, and restore a smooth linear brake. this is a known safety issue with the 2018 accord as the part (01469-tva-a24) is on national backorder. this should be a recall and my vehicle will spend over 2 weeks in the shop!!!

Soy wire harnesses should be banned and recalls instituted to remedy the problem by either (a) replacing the harnesses with standard synthetic non-edible polymers as appropriate to the specific application, or (b) providing coatings that provably prevent rodents from consuming the insulation over the lifespan of the vehicle

This car has started to show signs of bad build quality. 1st 2 days after buying the car all the lights on the dash came on so i had to take it in for a module replacement. 2nd the car is very loud ( the road noise and engine noise) worse noise i've ever heard from a new car and sound like it's has exhaust leaks. t|e vehicles ride is very hard like the struts are worn or bottoming out and it's not the 17 inch tires as my fusion has 17's. the vehicle is difficult to keep in its lane even with all of the lane keep technology i have a hard time staying straight especially when i hit bumps the car hops around like it has worn struts. the transmission shifts into 1st gear hard on pulling away from a stop.

Brakes grabbing and almost uncontrollable. at low speeds, touch brakes lightly and they do little to stop the car. depress brakes harder and the pedal 'steps' in and the brakes grab abruptly. very difficult to brake smoothly / non-abruptly. as a result, at least one time abs kicked in prematurely when road surface covered with snow. but core problem (grabby brakes) are irrespective of road surface.

I purchased a 2018 honda accord touring in october 2017 and since that time my low tire pressure light has come on around 8 times. it comes on while i'm driving and usally when i'm taking a trip but not alwasys; sometimes it is city driving. each time i'm told to bring my car in for service. after several days it comes on again. i'm currently working with honda coporation trying to get it resolved.

Tpms low tire pressure warning comes on about every 2 days. each time every tire is the exact same pressure and not low. tpms is recalibrated, 2 days later it comes on again. light comes on while driving. system seems too sensitive.

Bought vehicle nov 22,2017. the following week when commuting home from work a light came on while using driver assist showing collision mitigation system problem. see your dealer. we took it to the dealer and reported the problem. the shop foreman said to take a photo if this happens again. the following week it happened again in the commute home while using driver assist showing the same message. i took the car back to the dealer the 2nd time and they kept it a few days so the foreman could replicate the issue. he couldn't replicate it and told us to take it back and take a photo and record if it happens again. he also thought our commuter transponder might be interfering with the honda computer technology. the 3rd time on the commute home was a scary situation when not only the light came back on, the brakes engaged at approx. 55 mph and we thought someone rear ended us in the fast lane on the freeway. thankful no one hit us or us hitting them. took the car back to the dealer over 2 weeks ago and and they are trying to replicate it once again. now the car is not safe to drive due to the fact the brakes angaged on the freeway at 55 mph. we refuse to drive it. the dealer called us to drive it because they installed a recording device when it happens again. this didn't make sense to us to subject anyone to a possible accident. we understand they are trying to replicate it but someone could be hurt or killed. we are in limbo and are very disappointed.

The car stutters or stammers when you press the accelerator/gas pedal at times, it does not do it at all times. it is dangerous. it was stationary at a stop light, or pullling off from a stopped position.

Takata recall cannot get internet sites to accept my vin, license entries to learn if car is due for recall work on air bag

When starting my car, i am receiving several warning even after taking my car to the dealer. all issues were cleared but now only 4 days later, the same warnings from the safety system is showing.

The external paint of our vehicle is thin and fragile, it chips and scratches quite easily even if contacted by plastic such as a child seat or camera lense cover, never mind what an inconsiderate parking neighbor, shopping cart or road debris do to it. i have contacted the owner of the dealership; who offered to fix the paint, then revoked his offer. and american honda motor co., inc. who opened a case and then closed it, ignoring my responses to their communications. attached are copies of my communications.

While i was driving on a one lane road with no one else around my sunroof/ moon roof exploded/shattered. according to consumer reports (https://www.consumerreports.org/car-safety/exploding-sunroofs-danger-overhead) - this is a known problem in honda accords. the dealer refuses to accept the glass could have shattered on its own and says that its due to an outside influence and will not cover the car under warranty. the car was purchased sep 18,2018. i had to pay over $1,375.19 for repair.
