2017-07-10	AIR BAGS:FRONTAL \| AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE-INACTIVE \| SEAT BELTS:PRETENSIONER	General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Buick Lacrosse and Chevrolet Spark EV, Caprice PPV and SS vehicles, 2014-2017 Buick Encore and Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles, 2015-2016 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Trax, Suburban and Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles, and 2015-2017 GMC Sierra HD 2500 and 3500 vehicles. While being previously remedied for recall 16V-651, the affected vehicles may not have received the complete software update necessary to remedy the recall condition. Without the update, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. During this test, deployment of the frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners would not occur in the event of a crash. Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will reflash the SDM software. Vehicles that have had a previous air bag deployment will have the SDM replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2017. In the affected vehicles, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. 2021-07-01	AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW:CURTAIN:INFLATOR	General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2016 GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, 3500, and Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks. The roof-rail air bag (RRAB) inflator end cap may detach from the inflator, or the inflator sidewall may rupture. Remedy: Dealers will replace the left and right side RRAB modules, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters informing owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed August 16, 2021. Owners will receive a second notice when the remedy is available. 2021-04-08	SEAT BELTS:FRONT	General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2015-2016 Chevrolet Tahoe, and 2014-2015 GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles that may have received an incorrect replacement tensioner cable assembly as part of a previous recall remedy or a subsequent repair. The flexible steel cable connecting the driver’s seat belt to the outboard side of the seat may be repeatedly bent over the seat side shield as the driver enters and exits the vehicle causing the cable to fatigue and separate. Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver seat belt lap pretensioner, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin May 24, 2021. 2019-10-24	ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL \| SERVICE BRAKES \| SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP:WHEEL SPEED SENSOR	General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Yukon, and 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles equipped with a 5.3-liter engine, a 3.08-ratio rear axle and four-wheel drive. If a wheel-speed sensor fails, while the vehicle is traveling between 41 and 60 mph in four-wheel or automatic mode, the Electronic-Brake Control Module (EBCM) software may activate the driveline-protection system. Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the EBCM, free of charge. The recall began December 11, 2019. 2019-09-06	SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM	General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Cadillac Escalade, 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, 2015-2018 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon vehicles. The amount of vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease over time. Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the Electronic Brake Control Module, free of charge. 2018-09-07	STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM	General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Sierra 1500 and Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade vehicles. Electric power steering (EPS) assist may be lost momentarily, followed by a sudden return of EPS assist. Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the EPS module software, free of charge. The recall began October 12, 2018. 2016-04-12	SEAT BELTS	General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks manufactured January 29, 2013, to January 21, 2015. While entering the vehicle, the seat belt tensioner cable may be positioned such that the driver slides over it. This movement may result in the fatigue and separation of the cable. Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will modify the vehicles to prevent the tensioner from being damaged. Any tensioner that has already been damaged will be replaced, free of charge. 2020-11-25	AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW:CURTAIN:INFLATOR	General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2016 GMC Sierra 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500, and Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 trucks. On may 19, 2014, general motors llc (gm) notified the office of defects investigation (odi) that it would conduct safety recall 14v266 to address fatigue and separation of the flexible steel cable that connects the front outboard seat belts to the seat-mounted belt pre-tensioner in 1.4 million model year (my) 2009-2010 saturn outlook, 2009-2014 buick enclave, gmc acadia and chevrolet traverse (lambda platform) vehicles.the remedy was to inspect for signs of damage and replace pre-tensioner anchor cables as needed. re-work was conducted to relocate the pre-tensioner anchor cable out of the occupant entry path. odi has subsequently received four (4) vehicle owners questionnaires (voq) reporting anchor cable separations with no apparent warning in covered vehicles after the recall 14v266 remedy had been applied.odi opened rq19-003 to assess the effectiveness of the actions gm took in recall 14v266 and review the full warranty and complaint data related to seat belt anchor cable separations and replacements. odi continues to receive occasional cable failure complaints both for the subject vehicles and other gm models and model years that have also been previously recalled addressing this condition.although the cable separation complaint rate is very low, over the past three years odi has received two (2) additional voq’s citing belt cable separations for lambda platform vehicles outside the scope of recall 14v266, (11217092, 11118075) and voq’s for other gm models covered in a number of similar safety recalls:* 15v269, 2011-12 chevrolet malibu (11181115, 11288168); * 16v209, 2014-15 silverado 1500, sierra 1500 (11254364, 10935183, 10953851, 11025376, 11282043, 11288701, 11309884); and * 16v518 2014-16 caprice police pursuit, ss (10905644, 10990669, 11340893).odi's review of gm's data confirms the low potential failure rate for the vehicles covered by recall 14v266. however, odi believes that complainants may not recognize accumulating cable fatigue damage from the visual cues available in routine vehicle use.odi is upgrading rq19-003 to an engineering analysis to more closely assess seat belt conditions and strength levels in the field. this work will include the collection of seat belt samples from a wider range of recalled and peer vehicles for detailed analysis and testing.all odi reports (voqs) associated with the engineering analysis opening can be viewed at nhtsa.gov under the following reference numbers:11340893, 11309884, 11288701, 11288168, 11282043, 11254364, 11217092, 11181115, 11144704, 11118075, 11113486, 11089935, 11076704, 11025376, 10990669, 10967518, 10953851, 10935183, 10905644, 10807694, 10785195, 10762598, 10730147, 10703839
