2014 NISSAN Pathfinder

I rarely drive this car, and I live both in Northern Virginia and San Diego. This car resides at my residence in Coronado CA and is my car for when I come visit my kids. I was only back 5 times over the course of 2 year from May 2023 through current. I purchased this car in January 2022 from Iowa and drove it to San Diego and it had about $81K on it. The problem stated about 88K and it was a stiffer in the ideal/acceleration. As I am only back for a couple of days at a time, I eventually thought it was the coils, as plugs, and then fuel filter, which I gradually replaced during the last year. It still did not fix the issue, so I brought it to Nissan, and they said the transmission is gone. It will cost between $6 to $9K to replace it as stated by Nissan. They stated as well as most transmission shops that this car and it year as well as few years before and after are notorious for bad CVT’s. Unfortunately this year was not included in the lemon law class action lawsuit and therefore everyone who experiences this is out of luck. There should be another class action lawsuit for this year. This is absurd and I rarely drive this and still owe $17K o the car.

THE SUV HESATATES, STALLS, SHAKE AND SOMETIME IT DO NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL.

CVT started shaking upon acceleration. After 2 days vehicle keep feeling like it wouldnt go, like something was stuck, then it would all of a sudden take off but would shake alot and wouldnt accelerate past 50mph. Took vehicle to dealership and they are saying the transmission needs to be replaced. Nissan is refusing to help fix the issue because im over the extended warranty miles, even though this is a common problem in all their newer model vehicles. My out of pocket expense will be $4700 to replace transmission. Not a happy customer right now. Will never buy another Nissan.

2014 Nissan Pathfinder bought new. About 2 weeks prior car was shaking upon acceleration both in drive and in reverse. On Saturday, 1/21/2017 car became stuck in 1st gear and then after stopping at a red light, stopped driving altogether. Car was towed to the dealership that afternoon and diagnosed today with needing a completely new transmission.

problem with the CVT transmisson… slipping.. when going low speed from 5-30mph.. car would shudder , shutter , judder… car will shake like a washing machine.. and giving my wife and myself a unsafe feeling.. only reason we bought the car was because it was very comfortable but I wish I had done some more research about the car and its CVT issue.. I would had not bought this car… my car should be still under the powertrain warranty 5 years or 60k miles… I will be bringing the car into nissan to have them rectify this CVT problem I am having which cause me to feel unsafe..

at low speed around 30mph.
with a/c on and hot weather, car is shaking very hard.
happened about 10 times. went to dealer, they said no problems come back when there is any lights on.

Hesitation and stalling has happened several times. On one occasion I had 4 co-workers in the car at the time (they are all witnesses) and I pulled out to make a left hand turn in front of on coming cars and the car hesitated causing an almost catastrophic event. The dealer says that they can not just replace the transmission until it has been documented happening several times and even then they will not guarantee that it will fix the problem. I asked if they would trade out my car with the 2015 model because as stated by them the 2015 model does not have these issues and they said they would however, my payments would go up to an amount that I can not afford to make. They were unwilling to make my payments the same as they are now. The head of the customer service department actually stated that no matter what they do it will not fix the problem because it is the way the vehicle was manufactured by Nissan. To date there is NO actual “recall” on this problem.

Went to start the car wouldn’t start. Had it towed to Aamco they diagnosed as a bad transmission because the fluids were crossed contaminated. Got a second opinion at a certified transmission shop and they diagnosed the same problem. Nissan is well aware of the problem and they won’t issue a recall. I just want my truck fixed.

The Ikey warning message comes on. The TMPS warning message comes on. 4 warning symbols light up. The emergency brake says it’s on when it’s not and the fuel gauge and speedometer do not work. It all happens
at the same time. It’s the instrument cluster. Nissan said they replaced the instrument cluster and problem was fixed and when we returned to get the car, they turned it on and it happened again. They kept the car and
reprogrammed the module to fix the issue. Again, they said it was fixed. I picked up the car and after driving it for one day, the same exact problem occurred. I drove it to the dealer and they have not been able to recreate
the problem and still have my car. They said if it doesn’t present to them they cannot fix it. I am terrified to drive the car and told them I wouldn’t pick it up unless they could guarantee me 100% that it is fixed.

Have had to replace transmission 2 times on vehicle with 141000 miles on it. these cvt transmissions fail after 60000 miles or so. very frustrating to pay this much for a vehicle to have same equipment fail multiple times. the replacement transmissions are no better than the originals. nissan needs to do something to compensate these consumers and own up to the cvt transmission being faulty.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 nissan pathfinder. upon opening the liftgate, the passenger side strut arm fractured and a popping noise was heard. the contact stated that the gate lowered and struck him on the head. there were no injuries. boch nissan (525 boston providence hwy, norwood, ma 02062) diagnosed that the liftgate strut system needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was contacted. the contact sent pictures of the liftgate corrosion. the manufacturer opened a case and agreed to cover 70% of the repair cost. the approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

My passenger seat stopped sensing someone sitting in the seat and wouldn't turn on. then, a couple days later the airbag light came on flashing. i was not in any kind of accident whatsoever nor was there a reason for this to happen. medford nissan told me they would not repair it that i had to pay 120.00 just for them to detect what was wrong. then they wanted me to pay to fix it. i did nothing that would cause this to happen. scrolling through airbag complaints from the 2014 nissan pathfinders it looks like this is a common issue.

After any complete stop , as you accelerate you feel about 3 to four skips during acceleration. happens every time . heard that transmission has issues

Car judder and loose power

The manufacturer has failed to remedy this safety recall for my vehicle.

Transfer case have been leaking starting about 45k miles and didn't even stop after nissan resealed it. recently about 90k miles started to make whining noise that seem to be less noisy after 35mph. there also is scratching noise on slow down. took the car to dealership and they recommended driving the car on 2wd only. replacement is over $4,500.

I own a 2014 nissan pathfinder and the transmission died last week. i towed it to the dealership and the repair is $5,400. after some digging i discovered that nissan has had a problem with this model year transmission and there was a class action suit for this issue. they then extended the warranty on the cvt to 10 years or 120,000 miles, however owners were never informed of this recall/ campaign since all vehicles would not experience this problem. unfortunately for me my tranny failed at 125,000 miles and they would not repair under warranty, although all the circumstances i outlined above shows' they did not do their do diligence to inform and fix the issue after they found out about the fault. i'm sure they will be many more owners of these vehicles that will experience this issue. anything you can do to assist with this would a appreciated.

Sun visors keep falling while driving it seems to be a common complaint among pathfinder owners i'm afraid this may have happened to multiple people already this is dangerous and needs to be recalled immediately.

The transmission slips causing the car to lose power and acceleration. i was merging onto the highway at 60 mph when the transmission gave out as i was merging in front of and next to two semi trailers. luckily i was able to steer back onto the berm but they came very close to smashing into the back of the car.

Brakes are prematurely worn and makes noise. at times the vehicle shudders unexpectedly which leads to pulling off the road to inspect the vehicle.

I have received notification twice now from nissan, that the ocs has a recall and is a safety issue. if the ocs is not working right, the airbag won't deploy correctly. i have contacted nissan multiple times over the past several months to get this fixed and they say they don't have the parts to fix this recall. major safety concern!

Automatic open and close liftgate closes without cause when fully open. when this happens, within the first two feet of travel down it cannot be stopped. it has caused head and neck injury to those standing beneath the liftgate.

Takata recall airbags failed when i was doing 5 mph and was side swiped. the fire dept had to cut me out of the vehicle. i needed staples in my head and was unconscious because the other driver was doing 20_30 mph according to police report. nissan refused to change me into a new vehicle despite my disabled status and fear of driving it. i called twice and went by dealer who agreed the should have worked.

My first complaint is the liftgate, i had the car back to the dealer 3/4 times because the automatic liftgate opens than just closes on its own. i had it close on my head (once got a bump) several times.. every time i bring it back to the dealer they tell me that it had to be reset , obviously there is more to it than just resetting it. last time i was there they showed me how to reset it. this issue is very dangerous as it doesnt give any warning.also 25,000 and i need rear brakes, never did i have to replace brakes so soon.

I have received two safety recall notices from nissan stating that i need to take my vehicle in to get a passenger airbag issue corrected. however, i took my car to auto nation nissan about a month ago and was advised that they would have to order a part to fix this recall and they would call me when the part came in. they did not call me and after a few weeks i called back and was told that the part has not come in yet as there are so many vehicles that need this recall and nissan does not have the parts to handle all of the requests. i was advised that someone would call me to discuss this and i never received that phone call. my son (weight about 105 lbs) is often in the front passenger seat and sometimes the airbag light is on and sometimes it is off, so i do not trust it to function properly in the event of an accident. i simply want to have this recall handled asap by nissan. please let me know if there is anything else that can be done. thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Recall 16v-244. i was notified in may about this recall by nissan but no parts are still available for repair. this is an air-bag safety issue. nissan needs to made this recall a higher priority.

I've been trying to get local nissan dealer to address several recalls on my vehicle since june 2016. i was told by my local and surrounding nissan dealerships that they do not have the parts and do not know when nissan would ship the parts to local dealership for the recall. i've called local nissan every month since june 2016 to ask if the parts are in but to no avail.

Cvt transmission has been shaking since the first moth of purchase. the vehicle had less than 1,000 miles on the car. the dealer has said several times there was no issue with the car and said they could not replicate the issue despite my concerns. every single time i was told there was no problems with my brand new car. i have taken the car in at least 4 or 5 times. the car will shake so hard it’s almost like the car is skipping between 20-40 mph and you have to clutch the steering to maintain control or disengage the gas pedal. this happens while driving or turning and at any time the car shifts between gears at low rates of speed. this has been a recurring problem since i have owned the vehicle. this is unsafe when driving on the highway and needing to pick up speed or making a turn onto oncoming traffic. nissan if fully aware of the transmission issues and concerns of consumers in regards to this issue. please investigate this issue. hold nissan accountable, recall this transmission, and help prevent nissan from selling faulty cars. *tr

The company has failed to provide a fix for the occupant classification system (ocs). this is putting the passenger at risk of fatal injury or renders the vehicle useless. i feel they have had more than adequate to get this fix remidied. if they cannot do so i would like them to buy back our vehicle.

My car was towed to the dealer for the 3rd transmission. the last transmission was put in 2 months ago. car stalls, sputters, fails to accelerate.

Received notice of important safety recall nhtsa recall 16v-244 several months ago which stated i would hear from my dealership when parts are available. i've just contacted the dealership and was informed they do not know when parts will be available. if this is such an "important safety recall", why is this part still not available? the light in my car illuminates on occasion and i am very concerned.

When vehicle is moving at 60 - 65 + mph, hood starts jumping in location just under windshield as wind lifts the hood. cross winds make the jumping much worse. the hood lifts as if it will lift up to hit windshield even though it is latch. this can be very dangerous especially if you are travelling on the interstate with small children in the car which i have in the car all the time. before travelling on interstate, i always have to open hood and slam down to make sure it is latch but this doesn't help and all of it continues.

Parking lever .... depressed to floor, and still, brakes do not hold vehicle in place, but slides on incline! ,,, also the two windshield columns right and left, are too larger/wide, decreasing visibility, and establishing a wider "blind spots."

1) my drievr side door level broke unable to exit vehicle. 2) vehicle sometimes takes a long time to stop without warning. 3) on a curve while brking or from brake to acceleration the vehicle stutters or hesitates to go. almost hit several times because as i lightly hovered the brake while turning or in straight line it hestiates to provide acceleration. (dealer said nothing they can do for this)they need codes i was told. 4) all brake pads and rotors both went bad before 25,000 miles. 5) right front bearing went bad at approx 6000 miles causing accelerated tires wear (i had to buy new tires) at 10k miles on a 60-75k tire. 6) passenger side air bag warning light stays on all the time(currently had car in they said they were getting a part) i average 10-12k a year and park in a large open driveway.

Cvt transmission shudders and shakes the whole car when driving at low speeds. very dangerous to drive when suv suddenly shakes so violently due to manufacturing defect from nissan. happens about once a month. nissan dealer has refused to repair anything as they were not able to replicate exact issue in a test drive. nhtsa please please investigate and get nissan to honor their warranty by fixing a dangerous and widespread issue with pathfinder's 2013-2015.

Ocs problem with airbag; guess this would be the takata inflator; not sure. received recall notice in may and dealer still does not have recall part. so no one can ride in my passenger seat; very inconvenient. and unsafe; spent alot of money on this vehicle.

The driver sun visor flapped back and forth. it can't stay up and down properly. it's a safety hazard because it come down in front of me when i tried to use it therefore i have to hold up with one hand while my other hand is on the steering wheel. i only use 6 times during the 3 years that i have been driving it and i am the first owner. it started about 2 months ago but it became worst now.

Sun visors for both driver side and passenger sides. both don't stay up and became loose and fall down. i never in 20 years had a problem like this with a sun visor. i fear for mine and my family life with this danger. there should be a recall or investigate the cause of this before someone gets hurt. please search the internet and you will see many complaints. this is very dangerous.

I checked your site and found no recalls for my wife's vehicle. last thursday 6/15 at 5:15 i was about to merge into an empty merge lane when i thought we were hit on the drivers side. the driver side curtain air bag had deployed. immediately pulling over and vacating all from the suv i checked the exterior damage and found none. had just come around a slow curve and was driving straight with all the windows open, i was accelerating from 25 to get up to 50 when we felt the explosion. humidity was about 80%. i am on blood thinners and my doctor is watching for signs of a brain bleed. my left arm was bruised behind the elbow and my forearm had a 1st degree burn. 34008 miles are there other instances of pathfinder air bags deploying on their own.

There was a recall on the passenger air bag and the parts have not become available. it's been over a year now.

I was driving on the highway, it was about 80 degrees and sunny. there was a loud explosion followed by the shattering of the moonroof's glass. there was no failing debris or other evidence of anything that would crack the moonroof. it appears that the moonroof exploded unexpectedly.

The transmission in my 2014 pathfinder has been a problem since i purchased it. i have dealt with replacing computer components in the transmission, fixing faulty braking systems that cause the car to shutdown, and a transmission that was finally replace only to fail roughly 4 weeks later! the government should stop allowing nissan to sell any car with a cvt transmission to consumers. they are unsafe and will cause a fatality wreck due to malfunctions. nissan refuses to replace or repurchase my vehicle even though this has been an ongoing ordeal as far back as 2015. most recently my car transmission does not change gears properly. when i slow down and try to accelerate the car will either shudder and fail to go past 20mph. additionally i have experienced the transmission violently jerk while driving on the highway. i had to reduce my speed due to traffic, and when i tried to accelerate the car began to make a jerking motion where the speedometer jumped to 60mph and immediately feel to 20mph. the car went through this cycle for almost one minute.

The problem started a few months after i purchased my car. i have taken my vehicle to the dealership to investigate and fix many times. i have been sent home several times stating that they cannot recreate the problem. my car jumps when i am trying to accelerate normally from a low speed. 2 months ago, i was on a main road at a 4-way light intersection when it caused me to studder in the middle of the intersection where i almost caused an accident. i feel as thought the dealership is purposefully trying not to admit that there is a problem or they are trying to wait until my car is no longer covered under warranty. today i was pulling into my garage when the car studdered and then jumped again which caused me to hit my trash cans and now i have a dent in the front side of my car.

The electrically controlled power steering pump has now started making a very loud buzzing / whistling noise. it is so loud, you can hear it inside the car with the radio on. the dealer told us that this is completely normal, although it just started making the noise. it makes the noise while driving, stationary or turning right or left. in other words all the time. the car is under factory warranty, but the dealer has refused to perform service to correct the issue because they say the noise is normal. i'm afraid the pump will fail causing an accident.

Sun visors on both drivers and passenger side broke and are not able to be put up. visors hang down and inhibit drivers vision.

Ever since purchase the sun visors (both driver and passenger) have been weaker than other vehicles. they make loud popping and cracking noise when engaged and closed. this weekend we entered the vehicle to leave and notice that the driver's side visor was not up against the ceiling. it wouldn't stay in place, there is a large gap and the visor is just above eye level at all times now. this failure in the mechanism also affects the "open" position by not allowing it to be adjusted towards the windshield and above site-line. if it's "open" it hangs vertical and will not adjust out of site. the mechanism is so weak and broken at this point that we fear it may fall from it's current "closed" position to "open" and directly in the line of site while driving. while not as important to driver safety, the passenger side is just as bad. nissan is not recalling these, but it is a "known issue" according to multiple service departments that i have called for replacement. to replace one unit is close to $200 ($194.50). this is ridiculous for a "known issue" that is actually a safety concern as much as it is an annoyance.

Vehicle has a defective cvt transmission. vehicle shakes or jerks upon changing gears, during acceleration or slowing down. vehicle is also slow to accelerate upon take off, putting me at risk for other car to crash into me. vehicle max speed is 50mph. mechanic states cvt is faulty.

Our vehicles braking system fail to properly work . we took it into the dealership they say nothing was wrong but i am having a hard time stopping my vehicle when in motion.

The sun visors block the view of the driver and can not be adjusted. this is the second set of sun visors for this car at $400.00 a pop every two years. it has blinded me of on comming traffic often. this happens everytime i drive this car. nissan is very un-concerned of my safety as they almost said.

The sun-visor does not stay up as nissan planned and is currently a safety issue while driving. this is a major issue as it is in direct sight-line of the road. in addition, when trying to block any sun, the visor does not provide correct protection as it does not stay in place. it's easy to see based on complaints on this website along with many across the internet that this is a common issue and should be reviewed by nhtsa

The driver and passenger sun visors are not staying up and at this time in the up position the driver visor is 4 inches off the ceiling and hanging in the field of vision while driving, and the passenger visor is about 3 inches of the ceiling. this is happening while parked or driving.

The issue is the plastic inside the sun visors breaks easily. i have already had to replace them once, and now they're both broken again. when the internal plastic components break, the visor hangs down and restricts your vision as you're driving. you are unable to position the visor to block the sun as well, which presents another safety issue. i have had to resort to connecting two dog collars together to keep the visors in an up position rather than spend $200-300 to replace them. nissan refuses to replace the visor since its no longer under warranty. the first replacement was under warranty, but they only cover warranty work for one year. this occurred about 18 months after the replacement. this is an ongoing problem with this vehicle. i will include a video link from a nissan dealership where the workers are visibly frustrated with the issue. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-ojqzbhnu2e the door handles are an issue i have personally experienced as well. both passenger side door handles internal plastic components have broken off. this presents an egress hazard, especially if the vehicle has been disabled and you're unable to roll down the window. rolling down the window and opening the door from the outside is your only option to egress the vehicle. i will include pictures and if you would like i can pop the panel off of the passenger doors and send in photos of the broken internal pieces. i have attached the invoice from the first replacement which occurred at just 14,714 miles, about 7 months after the vehicle was purchased.

I received a recall notice several months ago informing me of an airbag issue. the letter stated that parts were not available to fix the issue and a 2nd letter would be sent when the parts are available. reference recall 16v-224. i find it completely unacceptable to have recall and have t wait over 6 months to receive parts to remedy the issue. meanwhile i am driving around with a car that has an airbag issue

My vehicle is not shifting into gear,i was on the rd driving at about 30 mph,wanted to stall,it was jumping,the whole vehicle was stutters alot,bought new.

My transmission died on i 95 after only 38,000 miles. it was replaced at a nissan dealership and then a month later the brand new transmission leaked so much fluid that the goodyear mechanic that i took the car to(since the dealership wasn't open) couldn't find where the transmission was actually leaking from.

I received a notice of recall (nhtsa recall 16v-244) 3 months ago however have been unable to get nissan to repair passenger airbag. they claim they can't get the parts. i reported this problem several times since 2014 to no avail. it wasn't until recall that nissan even acknowledged this problem. the light on the front passenger airbag stays lit with someone sitting in the seat. passenger weight is 130-175 lbs and it still illuminates. what recourse do i have here.

The driver side sun visor will not stay up and severely hinders forward visibility. the hinge mechanism is broken. this failure happens 100% of the time and is not related to the vehicle being stationary or moving.

Multiple issues with this suv had to have rear shock/strut replaced. instrument cluster panel has been replaced. passenger side air bag comes on when person is sitting there. cvt transmission problems. the suv has been in the shop on multiple occasions for each issue the transmission issue has been in the shop 6 plus times and i just picked up the 2014 pathfinder 8-16-2016 and was told and have it on my invoice that the service tech drove the suv and feels the transmission slipping or skipping but there is nothing they can do nissan power train warranty will not allow them to replace it because my check engine light is not showing a code. so i have a 2014 pathfinder that is a complete safety hazard for my family and other people on the road. the suv will cut out, slip, shutter, lose power and has the potential of causing and accident when trying to accelerate which is terrible for who ever was to hit me and also could be fatal if i was to be hit and the passenger side air bag does not deploy could really hurt/kill the passenger. every excuse i get from nissan is they reprogrammed the car and this never fixed anything. the car was having transmission issues back before it made it to 30,000 miles and now at 55,000 miles the suv is having major issues with the transmission. this is a known issue but nissan refuses to fix. nissan instead puts this suv back on the road knowing it is having a safety issue for acceleration and passenger side air-bag and putting people at risk. i am requesting nissan to do a buy back of this suv. i am not looking for a replacement with another faulty transmission or a rebuilt transmission. i have found that there is a class action law suit in federal court in florida with people having the exact same issue. so obliviously there is a major problem with these transmissions.

While the vehicle was in motion on a highway (39, beach blvd in buena park, ca.) proceeding straight down the road the third row left seat belt anchor became unattached from the seat/vehicle frame while in use by an adult that was occupying the left side of the third row seat. the anchor of the belt where the belt buckle latches into came completely loose from the car, endangering the adult occupant. there did not appear to be any break but likely defect as there were no broken, cracked or damaged parts visibly seen. nissan u.s.a. was contacted regarding the situation and they were not able to communicate with us due to the individual being unfamiliar with the english language enough to comprehend normal and relevant conversation and details about their product. a call back to the same number provided by nissan u.s.a. encountered the same difficulty and an overall disregard of the problem. our local dealership instructed us that since there was no recall, we would have to pay for repairs out of pocket. our third row is only utilized rarely when we have more than 4 occupants, and has only been used 3 times. no abuse of the buckle by any individual has occurred. the passenger in this case could have been ejected fatally in a collision.

My sun visors on my suv that i purchased new will not stay up. they hang down in a very awkward position and pose a major visibility issue. i drive over 50 miles daily for work and steering my car while trying to hold up my passenger visor has and is posing a major visibility issue. i read countless post blog with other pathfinder owner who have the exact same is. i am taking my suv to nissan to see if this is covered under warranty. my main concern is once my warranty haa expired as numerous of pathfinder owners have, this will be an expense that i will have to absorb when i shouldn't because it is a clear manufacturer defect. i am being told the cause of my ossue is that nissan made thw visors too heavy for the brackets that support them causing them to fall and impair visibility which is not only dangerous but could be deadly. i am a mother of two and want to make sure the vehicle i purchased new bc of safety is in fact safe for myself and my family.

This is the 3rd time the computer has been replaced. i am driving down the road and lose power, the car will only go 5 miles an hour all lights come on and my foot is all the way down to floor. my emergency lights do not work. i have been in danger numerous times of being hit from behind. my car has been at the nissan dealer for 3 weeks now with same problem! i fear for my safety with this car, my grandkids cannot drive with me due to safety issue.

From time to time, my 2014 nissan pathfinder will not accelerate on full throttle while driving. i noticed this for the first time when the mileage was around 22k, and now around 34k, it is happening more frequently. i took it to the dealership a week ago to address this issue. they changed a brake relay and did some recall-related software updates. since then, it is happening more frequently. i almost got hit by another car in the interstate ramp as i could not accelerate. i looked up online and found that this was the major issue among the 2013-2014 pathfinders and they have recalled close to the million vehicles for this. however, according to the manufacturer's tag on my car, this batch was built after the recall date (august 2014). it looks like nissan probably have not yet found the real solution for this issue, or, their cvt transmission design is fundamentally flawed. whatever might the reason be, nhtsa should investigate and put more pressure on them to fix it. this is definitely a safety issue...please investigate!!!

Bought 2014 nissan pathfinder new. about 2 weeks ago car began shaking upon acceleration both in drive and reverse. on 1/21/2017 car became stuck in 1st gear and upon stopping at a red light, car did not move at all. car was towed to dealership and today was diagnosed with needing a completely new transmission.

The sun visors makes a loud cracking noise and have continued to fall down in my light of sight starting since the vehicle was roughly a year old. they will not stay up and have almost cause me to get into a severe accident several times. the drives side visor had to be removed as it hit me while i was driving and caused me to swerve off the road.

Water leaks into the interior of the car from the roof and runs down and saturate the in cabin fuse box and the floor could possible cause an electrical failure.

Issue with the cvt for nissan pathfinder. have seen lot of complaints around the transmission for pathfinders (2013 and 2014 models). nissan doesn't accept the issue and is charging us pay 5000$ for repairs. currently have mileage of 69500 and just passed the warrant (by 3 months). nissan doesnt accept for any repairs. the vehicle while in motion stutters and stops in the middle of the road which is quite dangerous.

My nissan is having the same transmission problems that have been granted recalls but i mine isn't eligible for recall according to nissan. my vehicle shudders when i accelerate and my mechanic can't tell me what's wrong with it.

Abs braking went on and stayed on , comepletely shutting down brakes for distance of 100 feet, causing me to roll through stop sign narrowly missing several pedestrians and other vehicles.

I purchased my nissan new in 2014 and now with 120000 i am told my vehicle needs a 3rd transmission. nissan knows there is an issue with the 13-15 cvt's for the pathfinder as they have redesigned the transmission to correct the problem and have issued two recalls on the software for the cvt. i requested assistance then they are not willing to do what is right and replace it at their expense. all recommended service has been done at nissan dealerships. the original jutter issue was extreme, but i was told today that the new jutter issue is compressed and not as noticeable, but i was not informed until after it was out of warranty that is would not feel the same. i was informed that the jutter code is back and that was i was feeling is in fact the same issue.

Both sunvisors in my vehicle are being held up with bungy cords because they just fall down into your face while driving. according to the dealership this is due to the mechanism that supports the sunvisors. in order to have repaired new sunvisors have to be installed which cost 485.00 with labor. there is no way to keep the sun out of your eyes while driving and if you do not tie them up with something they just fall forward into your face. i was told by the dealership this is a common problem in my make and model and eventually there will be a recall. after talking with nissan headquarters today 08 12 20 there is no recall yet and to contact you.

Car was idling and coasting for a while as we were at a drive through african safari wildlife park. once i needed to press the accelerator, the vehicle would not go. suddenly it sped up and i had to slam on the brakes to not hit the vehicle in front of me.

In 2019 the driver seat become wobbly and a bolt was found loose. tightened bolt and is starting to become loose again. the single seat in 2nd row has also become wobbly and is getting much worse. can’t seem to figure out why it’s so wobbly and can’t get to any bolts to check tightness. this should be recalled for safety. because of this i can’t put a child’s car seat in that seat and i can’t use that seat for anyone else either as it is not safe. please recall these seats so they can be fixed. i’ve seen forums where others have/had the same issue.

Driving down i-75 i heard a loud bang, like a gunshot, in my car. i frantically started looking around the car and didn't see anything. i called my husband that was about a mile away to come check my car. my husband got out and walked around the car not seeing anything immediately. he walked to me and gave me his keys so i could drive his car home and he was going to take mine. walking back to the car he saw the sunroof bulged up. he stood in the door frame and saw a large hole in the sunroof and told me it looks like it exploded outwards. luckily the shade was closed so i was not covered in glass. nissan does not want to fix it because "they didn't make the glass" according to the rep i spoke to. even though it was oem and installed in a nissan factory. state farm will not cover the damages due to it being a manufacturing defect. that sticks me with the $1900 bill. now i am terrified to even drive the car and it doing it again. it was truly one of the scariest moments of my life. *tr

I was driving home yesterday on i-75 and heard a loud bang like a gun going off in my car. there was no one around me and i looked around and didn’t see anything. luckily, my husband was about a mile away so i called him. when he got there i was shaking! he walked around my car looking for something, but didn’t see anything. he told me to drive his car home and he would take mine. while walking back to the car he noticed a bulge up in the sunroof. he opened the door to take a look on top and saw the sunroof exploded from the inside out. my extended warranty won’t cover it, nissan won’t cover it, i’m waiting on my insurance to see if they will help (but since it is a manufacturing defect) it is possible it may be denied also. this is so scary and dangerous! *tr

Within the last year+ both front windows have fallen apart inside of the door and stopped working. both times just as i hit the button to power down the window. it gets 1-2 inches and you hear everything except the glass clatter to the bottom of the door. passenger side window never used; maybe has been opened 15-20 times. all started over 60k miles. nothing covered by manufacturer. had to pay extended warranty deductible. it is obviously a defect in design or material. both times the car was stationary. drivers side at drive thru for coffee. passenger side sitting in parking space. this car is super pampered, garage kept and clean, no kids, no passengers, back and forth to work, 95% on 4 or 6 lane highway.

I purchased the car in 2015 and complained about transmission problems the dealer said it was ok, in 2017 i began having more transmission problems, the dealer did some work and adjustments and added a monitor of some kind and claimed everything was fine, now today a diagnosic shows my transmission is not working again and the dealer has no idea why, i have always felt this should have been taken care off years ago by replacing the transmission. there is a defect with them and there should be a recall on nissan transmission it seems many people are having problem like my self. the vehicle, slips, hestitate, vibrates when speeding up and then the engine light comes on.

The vehicle is constantly jerking and jumping every time you accelerate even even when on flat plain city street. i originally had this issue looked at back in january 3, 2020, which i didn't i have the car for 2 weeks then. i then took the vehicle in again february 5, 2020 to get another diagnostic done cause it was doing the exact same thing as before.. they said i need a cat converters. transmission repair or replacement. i have contacted nissan corporate and given them the codes that have come up and they're brushing me off.

Sat idling 30 minutes put car in reverse no power. put car in drive no power. neutral stepped on gas engines revved. towed to dealer dionastic bad transmission. dealer notified nissan north america willing to split the%44 $4400 rebuild cost. car has 93k garage kept dealer maintained. apparently nissan settled a class action law suit to extend the drive train warranty to 90kmi. very dissatisfied the ctv transmission was poorly engineered and designed. the rebuilt transmission come with a 1 year or 12kmi warranty. never again. stay away from missan they don't stand behind there product.

The power lift gate cylinder snapped off and trunk falls down immediately after opening. the vehicle was stationary when this happened and almost caused an injury.

While driving the car is having a hard time picking up speed and sometimes it the speed limit will go down by itself, without me having to break. i was in motion a city street going up a hill when this transpired. then it jerks like it is trying to rush to catch up with the rest of the mileage. i have a transmission code that is present of 817f1-00. that i called the dealership about and their giving me the run around. they want to know where did i get it from?! its legit not to mention there's a part recall on it, they won't honor!

2014 nissan pathfinder hybrid. my vehicle failed to accelerate after stopped at a light; car shakes like it's going to stall out; car shakes when going at low speeds and lightly pressing the gas pedal, it seems as if the transmissions tries to shift but the gear doesn't go in. my vehicle shifts into od on its own. also steering wheel doesn't feel right. lastly, trunk closes abruptly after opening; has fallen on my head several times.

There is a shaking/shuddering when turning at slow speeds, such as pulling into a parking spot. additionally, there have been several occasions, in both 2 wheel and auto/4 wheel, where the vehicle makes a thump while turning and/or accelerating. the issues seem to be similar to what tsb no.15-015a refer to. i purchased the vehicle 11/07/18. the thumping first occurred around may/june 2019 and the juddering began today 01/04/20

Sun visors will not stay up. they are falling off down automatically. please make nisaan to fix the problem. it is dangerous during line change and making turns this item is already replaced once. been using this vehicle for 5 plus years. rarely i have person sitting in front passenger seat

On monday 12/9/2019 i was driving the pathfinder alone on audelia road in dallas texas. the speed limit is 35 mph in this area. i was the only person in the vehicle and there was nothing in the passenger seat. around 11:00 am i heard a loud explosion and the vehicle was filled with dust while in motion. assuming i was hit i pulled over and exited my car. after i got out of the car i noticed there were no other cars in the area. i walked around the outside of the car and saw zero damage. (photo attached) i looked back into the car and then saw that all of the passenger side airbags deployed.(photo attached) the airbags on the driver side did not deploy. my head was pounding and my eyes hurt from all the dust that was shot out in the air bags deploying. aaa towed my car to trophy nissan in mesquite texas. the dealership would not touch the vehicle as they stated it was a manufacture issue. i have called nissan and started the process. the engineer sent by nissan has assessed the vehicle and stated that he sees no physical, electrical or after market parts that would have triggered the failure. (photo attached) we have yet to hear from nissan on what their conclusion is but the air bag failure is a serious issue and could have hurt my infant child severely as this is the side her car seat is located. last-we are under the impression we had the airbag recall issue repaired in april 2019.trophy nissan was very misleading with their answers on the recall repairs. paperwork attached.*dt*jb

The vehicle shutters feeling as if it will stall at low rpm between 10mph to 20mph while driving in highway commuter traffic. this was reported to my dealership multiple times at multiple service appointments such as oil changes. the problem was purposely not documented on my service sheets and i learned through the internet of what my problem was when my dealership tells me they could not detect a problem. the cvt has been a known problem when the whole time i thought i had a fuel or electrical problem with my vehicle. the dealership would have known this and kept me in the dark of this problem. i feel very let down by the dealership and nissan as this has been a problem i known of since 50k miles and the dealership would tell me no problem was detected.

Vehicle has constantly jerked under 30 miles an hour. i had the computer reprogrammed in 2016 per the nissan recall but the shudder never went away. nissan said that i had to drive through the shudder. well today my transmission went out and nissan said there is nothing they can do. please do no buy this car.

2014 pathfinder sv hybrid 4wd passeger airbag sensor frame and wiring needs to be replaced. the passenger airbag is always deactivated, even if an adult passenger is seated in it, there is also an airbag warning light that flashes on the dashboard. nissan's ocs system seems to be frequently complained about online. the dealer says that this is just wear and tear, which i don't really understand how a frame and harness for the ocs (which they say needs to be replaced for $1200) could be a wear and tear issue. i just wanted to report this issue in case there have been others who have had the same problem, as there seems to have already been many recalls for the airbag system in this car.

At low speed (15-20 mph) the transmission shutters when accelerating. this happens most often when going up a small/slight grade.

Since i got the car they have been working on a sensor on the passenger side.. first the air bag sensor then the seat belt sensor. now the air bag is totally off and wont come back on.. they are telling me the warranty is over this is a manufacturing defect and i want nissan to pay for the repair.. it is no longer safe to have a passenger with me in the front what can i do?

It appears the molding on the passenger side roof rack has come apart. the seal and the actual roof rack piece now flap in the wind. i did some research on this and it seems several hundred people have dealt with this issue, even after months of purchasing the vehicle. the first time i experienced this was driving down the road and i heard something hitting my roof, i figured a stick might of got caught in the roof rack or something. every time i drive it flaps in the wind.

Vehicle shudders / shakes when driving 30-45 mph. feels like not shifting properly

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 nissan pathfinder. upon opening the liftgate, the passenger side strut arm fractured and a popping noise was heard. the contact stated that the gate lowered and struck him on the head. there were no injuries. boch nissan (525 boston providence hwy, norwood, ma 02062) diagnosed that the liftgate strut system needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was contacted. the contact sent pictures of the liftgate corrosion. the manufacturer opened a case and agreed to cover 70% of the repair cost. the approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

The driver's side sun visor has an inner plastic piece broken which makes the sun visor randomly fall, blocking my view when driving. this is a common issue on many 2014 pathfinders that can be fixed by making the parts (visor) better, or by selling a replacement part for the plastic piece that easily breaks. instead, the manufacturer only sells as a replacement part, the exact same visor that is likely to break again. a second issue on this car is the driver's side door handle inside and outside the door. i find myself often trapped inside the car or outside the car due to this door handle malfunction. this could easily become a life/death safety issue if ever i was in an accident and was trapped inside the car. this is another common defect on this car caused by a cheap plastic piece breaking. another problem besides being trapped in the car is that sometimes the door opens while driving. these safety issues common in the 2014 nissan pathfinder should be corrected immediately with a safety recall.

Passenger side sun visor will not stay up creating a blind spot/visibility hazard. driver side is beginning to stay down lower from the roof of the car also. passenger side now stays down all the time and when pushed up immediately falls back down

The sun visor on the driver's side is defective, leading to impaired visibility during driving. the visor sometimes falls to a vertical position under gravity only. this obstructs forward vision and also obstructs line of sight to the rearview mirror. at other times, the visor partially sags, creating a condition where the front edge of the visor is in close proximity to the driver's face. it's foreseeable that a condition could occur where the visor could cause injury by contact with the driver's face during sudden deceleration. there are no positions that the visor can be put in that do not obstruct the driver's vision.

While driving on the highway i lost the ability to accelerate. i had to coast to the shoulder. i had my 2 young children in the car and this could have led to a terrible accident. the car is 4.5 years old and has under 39,000 miles on it. nissan has determined the transmission failed and is replacing it under warranty. the transmission problems with the 2013 and 2014 nissan pathfinders are well known at this point. it is only a matter of time before someone gets killed. order a recall now.

We were driving out of town on vacation when our sunroof exploded out of no where. it was about 9:30 in the morning on friday july 19th. we were heading east bound on the 10 freeway it was about 90 degrees outside with no other cars around. the noise was so loud it scared everyone in the car. we have contacted nissan for help and they have been extremely rude and unwilling to help us at all. they basically said to bad it’s your problem not ours.

Faulty break relay switch. it prevents acceleration. vehicle was in motion on highway. this has almost caused some one to rear end me.

Brake lamp relay went bad and brake lights remained on after removing foot from brake pedal. the problem occurred whether the vehicle was parked, running, driving. on or off. there is a recall on some pathfinders, but ours is not one. had to pay to repair myself. the recall needs to be extended to all pathfinders.

I have a 2014 pathfinder, it started discharging massive amounts of white smoke from the tailpipe. i took it to my mechanic and they said that it needed a new engine. he explaned, that the oil rings are bad and oil is leaking in the engine and that the only solution was a new engine asap. my car has less than 83,000 miles. my mechanic said i could take the issue up with nissan directly and maybe they would help out because these cars are known to have this problem. i kept up with my maintenance. i'm absolutely disappointed and upset with this problem. it has to be a known manufacturing problem. this is a recurring issue that nissan is aware with and needs to address.

The visor does not stand flush with the roof, it drops down into the driver's line of sight. they will often fall completely down, making it a safety issue for the driver.

Was driving on the eway with my family and heard a loud boom. then heard wind and pieces of glass above the sunroof visor. pulled over and confirmed that my sunroof exploded.

Bought car a year ago, everything fine. then all of a sudden the passenger side airbag stopped working or stopped detecting anyone sitting in the front seat. an apparent known issue for nissan from 2013-2017. i was driving while i had a passenger in the front seat and noticed the airbag was turned off. and light was flashing. the person was over the weight limit that turns it off. i tried reaching out to nissan and they stated it’s only vin specific but yet it’s a known issue for this year and model as well as many others.

I have been having issues with my vehicle since 2016. in 2017 my vehicle stalled at a busy exit ramp after shaking. the most recent incident september 11, 2019 my vehicle stalled again on a busy exit ramp. the warning on the vehicle stated hybrid system overheating. i took the vehicle in to the dealer because of the shaking and stalling and two days later i received my vehicle back. the service report states there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. on saturday, september 14th my vehicle was worse than before with two warning lights. i was barely able to drive the vehicle back to the dealer on september 16th. on september 17th i receive a phone call from the service advisor that the issue with the vehicle is the transmission. the shaking has been an issue since 2017 but according to the service agents they never experienced it until september 16th.

I arrived at my destination and attempted to open my drivers side door and the handle would not work. it made a crunch sound and i could no longer use it. i now have to leave my car on, roll my window down, reach to open the car from the outside, roll the window back up, then turn my car off. i had parked my car in a parking lot on a level surface when this happened.

Upper intake manifold cracked. this was found out by rough idling, slow acceleration, increased gas usage, and engine light on.

The sunvisors ( both sides) mechanism that holds them in position will break from standard normal use. when this happens the sunvisors will not stay in the position that the operator puts the sunvisors in and tend to be floppy. this makes a dangerous situation because the sunvisors may fall down when not intended or not stay in position to needed to block sun glare. the sunvisors may also hang lower in the stowed position creating and edge a person could hit their head on on and abruptl stop. this happens while the car is stopped or in motion, but becomes worse in rough road conditions. the cause is due to the internal plastic that holds the spring clip on the inside on the visor. there are many complaints in online forums and even youtube videos showing diy fixes. oem replacement part is anout $150. pictures attached show both sunvisors. drivers side is operating normal, and the passenger side visor is shown in the positions that it can stop at. notice inthe stowed position passenger visor hangs low. and in the down position it will not stay all the way out. they will eventually degrade until they just hang down loosely and not maintain any position.

On 7/19/19, my car was serviced for broken passenger airbag sensor due to technician finding water bottle underneath the passenger side seat. paid $638 for the replacement. lesson learned, no water bottles allowed in car. less than 2 months later, on 9/12/19, the passenger side airbag lights go on again!! brought car to service on 9/19 and technician finds clip to sensor snapped. no water bottle, no known reason why the sensor is broken. had to pay another $189 to replace it again!! i’m tire of this pattern if you just sit in the passenger seat, or breathe there, the sensor will break!! nissan has done a horrible job at designing a protective area around the airbag sensor!! i contacted consumer services at nissan and they just told me they will review the case and it is not their fault after my car is no longer under warranty. i am furious and even more concerned that there will be more sensor failures and airbag malfunctions in the near future!! i feel nissan’s poor quality is disrupting my family life and my work. i can’t keep going back to get this service repeatedly!! there should be an investigation & recall for this issue asap!!

I would like to make you aware of what appears to be a design flaw with the 2014 nissan pathfinder hybrid which you should notify other customers of as well. the rear blower motor is used to cool the very expensive battery system and hold off battery failure. there are no sensors or feedback monitoring of the rear blower motor to confirm it is operational. the rear blower motor of my pathfinder has died 3 times without issuing either a service code or any indication of a system failure. this has then led to the death of the very expensive battery pack. the first failure happened in 2016 at 37,000 miles and it appears to have a modulus of roughly 35,000 between deaths and should be pro-actively replaced by the owner to prevent the very expensive battery from having to be replaced. the only indication to the user that anything is wrong is that the battery light comes on and the car shuts down while in motion. the first time this happened to me i was on the freeway and was stranded in the middle lane until a police vehicle arrived. the next time was in the middle of the night when i was on side streets where the car came to a stop in the middle of an unlit road, with the battery dying completely after an hour while waiting on a tow truck. the last round happened 3 weeks ago (on a sunday afternoon thankfully without an accident possibility) - the car went into the shop and the very expensive battery was replaced but not the rear blower (as they were unaware of the failure). i got the car back for about 3 days before the car died again with the same error - at which point the technicians identified the rear blower died (again). you should notify other customers of this 5 year old product of the design defect and the need to check the blower fan regularly to ensure the very expensive battery has a long life.

I had 2014 nissan pathfinder and my vehicle was inspected and passed with no issues in june 2019. the day of the accident, i drove all morning with no type of incidents. my niece, who lives on a hill was in the car with me and i picked her that morning from her house. she had to returned to her house later that morning for an item so i drove back up the hill, waited for her in her driveway, left her house and as i was driving down the hill i realized that my brakes was not functioning, my emergency brake light appeared and then all the lights on my dashboard turned on. the emergency brake wasn't working and i couldn't stop the car. i kept pressing my brakes and nothing was happening. it just kept going! at that point, i looked around to see the best place to crash. i came down the hill crossed over one of the main roads and steered my car into a fence and we hit a tree. all of my airbags deployed and i was grateful that both my niece and i had no major injuries. my vehicle was totaled by the insurance company. i had no issues with my brakes in the past! i did find out that there was a problem with the brake software in the 2013 and 2014 nissan pathfinders model-years and there was a recall. i bought my vehicle in 2014 however i never got a recall notice. i also had my vehicle service at a nissan dealership and brake software failures was never communicated to me. something went terribly wrong with my brakes or the software that day.

I was driving on a highway at highway speeds when my overdrive off button turned off the overdrive without it being pushed, my vehicles rpm’s went up to between 6000 and 6500 when i pushed the button on the shifter it re-engaged but the rpm’s where at a constant 3500-4500 and then i lost all acceleration and the pedal went to the floor but the rpm’s stayed at about 4000. i needed to coast to the shoulder of the highway. i was towed to a nearby dealer and i’m waiting for them to inform me of what the issue is.

1st it was my transmission, which was rebuilt due to a lawsuit. then it was the engine, used engine with 50,000 was put in and i only had 76,000 on the original one. then both cooling fans had to be replace....$6000 later and now the damn visors!! drivers side broken, won't stay up unless i use a bungie cord. it's a hazard having it flapping in front of driver and my passenger side is failing. nissan do something about this!! i've put enough $$$ into this car, it's like my money pit!! never ever again will i buy or suggest a nissan to anyone. can't wait to get rid of this car!!

Faulty rod bearing

Driving 25 miles an hour on a town road accelerating and the car starts to slow down even if i continue to push the gas petal. the car slows down almost completely before i tapped the brakes and then the car shot and revved forward without touching the gas petal. also the brake lights stay on even after the car is shut off. it does lile multiply times a day and i know that there was a recall on electric relay for sticking, my car is however not listed on the recall. this began in march and is making it unsafe to turn left in fear of the car not acclerating during oncoming traffic.

The sun visors on our 2014 nissan pathfinder started to droop down and eventually became so loose that they did not stay up at all and are dangling all the way down. this is not only annoying but also a safety hazard because the driver side is blocking part of the view. the loose flapping panel also distracts the driver immensely.

My vehicle began to make a knocking noise in the rear when turning. i took the car in to be assessed and was sold a new set of rear shock-absorbers. it was immediately evident that the problem was not resolved, so i took the vehicle back to the dealer service department. they found that the rear differential was failing and shards of metal had broken off. the vehicle was repaired under warranty. the failure occurred at about 50000 miles.

Our nissan pathfinder is giving us inaccurate fuel gauge reading when the fuel in the tank is at 1/4 or below. it can show us that we have 120 miles to empty tank and 5 minutes later that we have 20 miles to empty, then it could stay at 20 miles for more than 50-60 miles driven. this causes road hazard since we can't tell exactly how much fuel we have in the tank and we always have to keep it above 1/2 of the tank to avoid issues.

My vehicle shifts into od on its own. the dealership has done a soft reassembly an replaced the guts of the transmission and the issue is still occuring. this vehicle also previously needed to be towed due to it not accelerating after reaching 60mph on a major highway. it slowed down on its own and would not accelerate pass 20 mph

A plastic piece in my visors is broken. this seems to be a huge complaint from other nissan pathfinder owners as well. visors hang down in the way of vision while driving.

The car was unresponsive to acceleration on highway and stalled due to faulty transmission. my wife and two kids were stranded on the highway. i took car in for concerns about transmission at 77 k miles while still under warranty and they said it was fine with no codes. the car has just over 100 k. the car was dead in the water. i had to get car towed to the nissan dealership one mile away. doing more research on the transmission and saw the overwhelming evidence that the cvt transmission in the 13 and 14 is absolutely terrible and nissan knows it. the transmission was out of warranty, but have seen that nissan knows the transmissions are faulty and have helped people with repair costs. so i contacted nissan north america and they said i did not meet the criteria for which they would help. i asked what was the criteria? from the information i gathered, they will not help in replacing the transmission unless you have spent a boatload of money at the dealership service center. i had a friend of mine, same thing happened to trans, nissan paid for 70% of transmission repair. i learned that he had previously spent thousands at the service center on other repairs and he was approved. i argued with nissan that i am being penalized for having a car that worked well and did not have a bunch of repairs. so the bottom line is that nissan will help only those who have spent thousands at their service centers. they talked to me about customer loyalty. i said how can i be a loyal customer after this. nissan has sold a bunch of lies and continues to lie to customers about the transmissions. they should have been a service recall after the overwhelming evidence of the faulty transmission. never nissan.

The driver’s side sun visor no longer stays in the “up” position and “opens” whenever i am driving, especially if i hit a bump. the visor suddenly drops and hangs down, directly impairing my ability to see the road. whenever i try to put the visor back up to its “up” position it makes a loud creaking noise

Truck shudders after being parked or stopped at a light on take off when trying to pick up speed. also in the motion of driving on city and or highway.

Sometimes my pathfinder does not accelerate when i step on the gas pedal. it typically happens when i am trying to drive after a stop sign or a red light, but sometimes it will even happen when i'm turning into oncoming traffic and trying to accelerate, but nothing happens. it's intermittent, so it does not happen every time.

Power liftgate of our suv automatically closes once the gate reaches the top of its "open" position. sudden closure is a life threatening event to a small child at or near the rear of the vehicle. said to be a "spindle" problem.

Car shakes when going at low speeds and lightly pressing the gas pedal, it seems as if the transmissions tries to shift but the gear doesn't go in. the car consumes more gas than usual, and it feels very heavy even when flooring the gas pedal.

Car was delivered new with front headrests installed backwards. driver’s visor was snapping loudly and drooping from new. replaced 11/14/2014. ocs recall, attempted repair 4/23/2014, 11/14/14, 4/7/2015, 11/19/2015, 12/8/2015 and passenger side airbag light remains on always, to this day! hood has vibrated at highway speeds since new. recall for hood latch fixed 4/7/2015. hood still vibrates. passenger visor replaced 2/23/2017 for same as driver’s. driver’s inner door handle broke. couldn’t open from inside. replaced 9/10/2018 at cost of $296.29. multiple exterior rubber and plastic trims are loose, coming off, and interior gasket on one rear door and tailgate.

My vehicle will make startling rattling sounds under the hood whenever the heat or air conditioning is on whether the car is idle or in motion. whenever this occurs, the vehicle also hesitates when accelerating as if it will cut off.

I have taken my pathfinder to the shop on several occasions to have the transmission fixed. it shutters at slow speeds. my husband was told that nissan's do that and nothing is wrong. we had the cvt sensor replaced and it stopped for a while. well now it shutters at low speeds while turning a corner, in slow moving traffic, high speeds going down the interstate and sometimes when you press on the gas pedal after being stopped at a light it will act like the transmission is not engaging and then all of a sudden it will engage and make the car leap forward and it will shake. we purchased the vehicle from vic bailey ford in august 2015, was told that it still had the manufacturer warranty left on it and benson nissan in spartanburg would not honor the warranty because we didn't purchase the vehicle from them. this transmission problem has been an on going problem since we purchased the vehicle.

As i was driving on 110 south freeway and enter fasttrack lane near exposition blvd exit, i heard a very loud explosion and thought that i was running into a collision with another oncoming vehicle. as i was slowing down and looked around there were no vehicle near me and the weather was so clear. then i noticed that my sunroof glass was blown off and shattered. lucky enough i had my sunroof shade closed so the shattered glass didn't flight in the car. there were another 04 passengers in my car as well but no one got hurt.

My drivers side headlight continues to go out even after changing the bulb. when the build is changed it works for a couple months and burns out again. i always notice this issue in the mornings when first entering the vehicle.

After owning my 2014 nissan pathfinder platinum for a little over 2 years and 37000 miles (conveniently just out of the factory warranty period), the sun visor on the driver's side became inoperable and, what i considered to be, a safety hazzard. the inside portion of the visor itself was obviously poorly engineered and loosened/cracked inside the visor which holds it secure to the visor arm. the visor would not remain in the upright position, out of the field of vision while driving. it was caught in a state of limbo in between being all the way down, and being all the way up. as a temporary fix, i had it secured with velcro, but this would come loose sometimes while driving and obstruct my vision. within a month of the driver's side visor breaking, the passenger side visor broke as well, in the same exact spot. i secured both visors in the upright position with bungee cords as the velcro wasn't secure. my local nissan dealership informed me that even though this was a known safety issue, i was out of warranty and would have to pay for the repairs myself, almost $400 total. i contacted nissan's corporate office to see if they could resolve this for me since it has been a common complaint among pathfinder owners, but i was given the same answer. my concern, that nissan doesn't share, is having a vehicle with no operable sun visors. what if i got into an accident with my family in the car because i was blinded by the sun? nissan, however, does not think this is a legitimate safety issue for all of their customers regarding this known quality defect. i guess they have calculated that a wrongful death settlement or two is less expensive than doing the right thing and replacing a couple thousand (or possibly a couple hundred thousand) visors.

Both drivers and passengers side sun-visors will not stay up against the ceiling, or against the windshield, and drop down into my line of sight, which makes it a hazard while driving because it will not stay in place. myself and passengers are constantly hitting our heads on them. it obstructs my view while driving even when my seat is all the way down. nissan you have been made aware of this defective part and this should be recalled. it makes driving hazardous.

When excelerating my vehicle the car shakes and will give out on me. very dangerous especially when getting onto a highway. this happens every time we drive the vehicle. we are located in spokane wa. this is apparently a known issue with pathfinders.

Sun visors in the car fall down unexpectedly. this causes the reduced field of vision to forward or side traffic and also poses at great risk during collision. these defective sun visors need to be recalled. the problems have been on going across multiple vehicles in the product line within the first 6 months of use. multiple incidents have been reported.

Both "sun" visors on verge of breaking. when putting down or up, they will make a snapping noise and hang loosely. also, while driving they will flop down. visors never stay up properly or safely. i've had it fall down while driving on the high way. they are not safe! spoke with dealership, they want to charge $400 for them to be fixed. the pair that's breaking is not sold separately. i've read many complaints about this issue.

The vehicle frequently fails to accelerate following the application of the brakes for a period of 10-30 seconds. the dealership has informed me this is due to a defective "brake switch" that is common in the pathfinder. the defect causes an unsafe and potentially deadly condition when merging into traffic.

I have noticed this for awhile, but it has gotten worse. i am now at 6800 miles, and when i pulled into my driveway last night, my gas gauge read that i had 86 miles to empty. this morning, taking my kids to school, i all of a sudden had 56 miles to empty. when i got to the stop light not even a mile away with the school to my left, my low fuel light came on, and by the time i turned into the parking lot, 2 minutes later, my electronic gauge was blinking at me and the actual gas gauge was at 0. i then had to wait in the drop off line hoping i wouldn't run out of gas while i was dropping them off. (i would of totally ruined their lives haha!) i was so nervous driving, trying to make it to the gas station. i made it. filled all the way up and it only allowed me to fill up 15 gallons. not my normal 16. so apparently it just wanted to give me a heart attack early this morning. how am i even supposed to know how much gas i have left? guess? just keep it topped off every damn day? dumb.

I purchased my pathfinder used, and this issue has only gotten worse. sun visors hang too low and block my view when driving. the mechanism sounds broken due to the popping noise. passenger side sun visor hangs low too, and both do not go fully up in the closed position.

My pathfinder has a known defect. nissan has released technical bulletin classification ra09-004c with reference number ntb10-029c from november 16, 2015. there is a vibration or judder feeling from the rear drive train. the action required is the replacement of the electric controlled coupling. there needs to be a recall issued by the nhtsa. i am very concerned for the safety of my young children. there is a vibration or judder feeling from the rear when making turns, on dry roads, at low speeds (under 40 mph). the repair is expected to be between 3800 to 5000 dollars. the nissan dealer said there are issues with the rear differential and drive shaft, the cvt trans axel, and removal of the valve assembly.

When i went to open driver’s side door from the inside, the door did not open. it seems as though the handle broke off on the inside. i now have to open my window and open the door from the outside handle.

I have owned my pathfinder for about 6 months. when i purchased the vehicle both visors were sagging and didn't fully retract into place. over the last month the drivers side visor is now to the point where it hangs halfway down all of the time. i researched online and have found this problem to be what i consider an epidemic. not only are the visors manufactured horribly but now cause a hazard when i am driving because i continuously hit my head on the visor. nissan needs to seriously consider recalling all visors that are designed as such. i just spent almost $200 to fix one visor for what i believe is a manufacturing defect. not happy! i do not have a picture to send in today because i have already fixed the visor because it was a hazard to drive.

I was driving my vehicle on 11/6/2018 and it was riding funny so i took it into my dealership, the transmission was going my cars trans went out a total of 3 times of the dealership fixing it. they stated that's a number one problem in these vehicles.

2014 n pathfinder 83,000 miles- i parked my car when i restarted it 10 min later, white smoke started coming from my exhaust. so much smoke that i was afraid to drive it. i had the car towed to my mechanic. he said that it's defiantly the engine (possible piston ring or stuck valves) he says he's heard of others with the same problem. googled and see many others with the same problem. dealer says i'm 8,000 miles out of my extended warranty. hard to believe this problem seems so wide spread and isn't a recall.

I was driving the car today and the car starting jerking almost like stalling on the highway. this usually happens all the time on and off and happens during slower speeds or when i am making turns but yesterday it happened on the highway at high speeds and the car started juddering. when i first bought the car i took the car to nissan to check this out and they said nothing was wrong but now i took the car again to nissan and hopefully they will fix this transmission issue.

Takata recall- both the driver side and passenger side sun visors are defective and after making a clicking sound for some time when being pulled down to use in sunny conditions, the visors finally break and hang down blocking the drivers view of the road and the visors can not be put back up in place. when doing a web search, i see this is a widespread problem. it's a safety hazard to not have a functioning sun visor but also to have it blocking the drivers view of the windshield and road

Sun roof blew up while driving.

While driving on the freeway the accelerator would suddenly not respond becoming a life hazard to my family and myself and also other drivers behind my vehicle; the cruise control also stop operating when this occurs. also the brake light would illuminate without the brake pedal being depressed and with the car being off.

The sun visor will drop down and will not stay up causing a safety hazard while driving.

We were traveling down the highway at approximately 1pm when the sunroof exploded. this is the second time the sunroof glass exploded. it exploded before on 11/29/18. the weather was sunny and clear with a temp of about 45 degrees. the sun shield was open but the sunroof was closed. we hadn't passed an overpass and when the we cleaned up the glass we didn't find anything that might have impacted the glass of the sunroof. we purchased the car used from a dealership in april 2018.

Driving down the road and my sunroof exploded. it sounded like a gunshot went through the sunroof. glass fell down onto my wife and 2 kids in the back seat. there were no rocks in front of me for debris to come back. the whole thing shattered. it didn't have a crack or spider. i have read numerous other issues like this on the internet and consumer reports recently wrote an article about this. nissan was in the top 3 having this issue. i went to my dealer and he thought we were crazy and assumed we caused this damage and tried to explain their were related articles online with the same issues as my experience. it was very scary and could've been dangerous if there were other vehicles behind us because, we had to slam on our brakes. i also purchased extended warranty and they would not cover it.

We bought the 2014 pathfinder used in march 2017 with approximately 8,000 miles on it. both visors clicked when putting them back up and would not stay in the full up position. in march 2018, the driver's visor fell and will not stay in either the full up or full down position, thus obstructing the driver's vision. the broken plastic is visible inside the fabric of the visor. i had to pin it to the roof to ensure safe driving. i thought the problem was due to misuse, but now i see this is a defect in the product. i don't see that nissan has provided free repairs, however. since this is an obvious defect, it should be a recall and the visors replaced free to customers.

The battery would not stay locked in place and this seemed to impact the mileage starting over and did not keep accurate amount of gas in vehicle. my transmission was going out; felt as if something was being dragged while driving. i have had to purchase tires twice since buying the vehicle even with getting rotations every other oil change.

My transmission jerks everytime i take off. for 47,000 miles. this should not be happening.

Passenger airbag light (indicating airbag off) remains on at times when adult passenger present. also, light often goes off when no passenger present. this is the opposite of what it should be. car has been returned to dealer many times, but problem persists.

On february 27, 2018 i was driving approximately 65 mph along a highway. suddenly i heard what sounded like a gunshot going off and then glass fell into my car, some on me from the sunroof. the entire sunroof exploded. i have taken pictures because the small amount of glass around the outside edges was pushed outwards like an explosion from pressure of some sort. after calling my local nissan dealership i was told this is not a nissan problem and not covered because my warranty mileage and time has expired. this is a nissan problem because glass should not explode for no apparent reason. thank goodness i did not lose control of the vehicle due to the shock of the situation.

Nissan issued a "campaign" due to a class action lawsuit settlement where the cvt transmission was malfunctioned which cause shuddering in the vehicle. the vehicle would shake while driving at 20mph. after bringing the issue to the attention of the dealership they could not determine what was wrong with the vehicle. on 2/28/17 the vehicle completely immobilized on the interstate in the middle of traffic nearly causing a tragic accident involving both myself and my children. nissan failed to send correspondence advising of the ctv update which caused the issue to go unresolved and ultimately causing the fail of the transmission. this issue should be rectified with models containing the ctv transmission. nissan has just advised the total cost of repairs would cost me a total $4,800.00 for their negligence of sending the proper correspondence regarding the campaign. they should buy back this car and all others like it as this can cause tragic accidents.

I purchased my nissan pathfinder and nissan rogue new in 2014. almost all recommended service has been done at banister nissan of chesapeake, 930 n battlefield blvd, chesapeake, va 23320 dealership. at approximately 30,000 miles the pathfinder began to shake violently during acceleration between 15mph and 30mph. also, the transmission slips and hesitates on both vehicles. details of this problem have been shared repeatedly with dealership advisors at the time of service. at first technicians claimed not have noticed any trembling / issues during test drives with the pathfinder. then each time i brought it in for the shudder, the dealer would blame it on other issues. i have replaced the tires, brakes, and rotors several times at the advice of the dealer. none of that fixed the shudder. nissan had a recall for a defective valve body in the transmission. the valve body was replaced on both vehicles; however, the failure was not corrected. banister nissan of chesapeake did not informed me until after the pathfinder was out of warranty that transmission was causing the problems and will need to be replaced. i requested assistance from the nissan manufacturer as advised by the dealership since i have complained about the problems for so long. the manufacturer was notified. nissan agreed to pay for repair costs for the vehicle. banister nissan of chesapeake now tells me they will need to do another diagnostic test but refuse to cover any cost associated. the advisors stated that diagnostic could coast anywhere from $200 - $800. my husband and i are experiencing most of the same issues with the 2014 nissan rogue purchased new at the same dealership.

Visors do not stay in the up position. become loose and fall while driving causing visual impairment to the driver.

Brake lights stay on even when the engine is off, and when the engine is on, the brake lights still stay on even when the brakes aren't being pressed. also, sometimes the car won't accelerate when you push the gas pedal. this occurs after you hit the brakes, and when it happens, the vehicle won't go over 20 mph.

Both sunvisors left hand and right hand visor started clicking when moving it and then it started popping and not going back up

While driving at a speed of 75mp on the highway at approximately 10:30 am the sunroof exploded. the sun shade was open but the sunroof was closed during the explosion. the weather sunny and clear with a temp of about 40 degrees. i hadn't passed a semi or truck or an overpass. i maintained our speed until i was able to pull over and assess the damage. passenger in the back seat received minor cuts on his leg. the car was purchased used from dealership in april 2018. it had 34,000 miles on it at the time of purchase. i had a "crash protector" placed over the sunroof by safelite glass repair until replacement part is available.

“tamara recall” latch under hood not operable; therefore, hood of vehicle does close completely

I purchased the 2014 pathfinder march 2018 with 27k miles. oct. 2018 during starting of the vehicle i noticed excessive amount of smoke coming from the tail pipe. my mechanic checked the truck and informed me oil was leaking from the engine into the cylinders. i contacted nissan corp and was informed to take it to a local nissan dealer. the dealer found the transmission was going bad, wheel barren. they returned the vehicle back to me after a week. the next day, the truck was smoking again everytime i would start the ignition. tried to trade the truck for another make. i can't too much equity. i only had the truck for 8 months. dec. 5th 2018, check engine light is on and low oil pressure light is on. excessive smoke still comes from the tail pipe when the truck is started. returned truck back to nissan dealer for repair.

When starting to take off (going anywhere from 5-20 mph) my car shakes like it's going to stall out, the engine or transmission does not allow the car to property speedup when accelerating. i feel extremely uncomfortable and not safe. but, i don't have another vehicle to drive. i've notice other people are having this issue too, mileage on my pathfinder is only 49,000. it's very stressful yielding on to highways and proceeding from a traffic light i was stopped at. also, i would like to mention that i got an oil change last week. after, doing so my car smelled like burning oil after driving more than 500 miles. i took it back to them to check that everything was done properly. they told me that my oil pan is rusted out and my oil stick needs to be replaced. because, the rubber on the top of the dip stick is wearing. he said that is very uncommon for this age of a vehicle. please help!!

My vehicle has a power lift gate. there is an internal hinge that connects the strut/arm to the liftgate. this is an internal piece. this 'hinge' somehow rusted and snapped. i believe it's called the 'strut mount'. therefore the strut/arm is no longer connected to the liftgate. the entire power liftgate system is now inoperable. i took it to the dealer and they told me the entire power liftgate system has to be replaced at a cost of almost $2,000.00. i called nissan consumer affairs to ask for assistance and log a case. the case # is 33162218. nissan declined assistance. i found a recall on the 2014-2016 nissan rogue models with the same issue. i brought this up to nissan consumer affairs and it did not change their position. my argument is: 1) this is an internal part and should never have rusted. 2) why does this 1 part require the entire powerlift gate be replaced? when this first happened, i was opening the liftgate (using the power feature), it got about 1/2 up, stopped, then slammed back down. however, it did not close all the way because the strut that broke from the hinge was left extended, causing the liftgate to not be closed. this was actually dangerous because my arm could have been trapped when the liftgate closed unexpectedly. i found similar complaints online but no official recalls.

Bought the vehicle used at about 60,000 miles. around 64,000 miles, both sun visors fell to the down position and will no longer stay folded up. impairs vision of driver. this was not related to an accident or any type of damage to the vehicle.

The sun visors on both the drivers and passenger side will not stay up while driving the plastic supports on both sides have cracked and will not stay in the proper position. this creates a safety hazard as if the do not stay up it blocks the visibility and ability to drive safely. i have had to remove it as i do not want to hold it up while driving.

The sun visors on the pathfinders break easily and hang in the driver sight. this causes a major distraction. nissan will replace the broken part for $100 and up. online, there are dozens of videos showing customer complaints. nissan knows about this cheap part but will not correct.

I was in motion on the highway when i moved the drivers side sunvisor. a loud pop happened and the visor broke. it would not return to its stationary place and hung in front of my field of view. it dangles interfering with driving.

This is a safety concern with the interior door handles. on both the front passenger and driver doors, the plastic door handle has broken on my vehicle (pictures attached), not allowing you to exit the vehicle. to exit the vehicle you need to lower the window and open it from the outside handle. this could prove extremely hazardous if you needed to exit the vehicle quickly and the plastic handle breaks. all the pieces of this part are plastic and they handle high levels of stress pulling cables to open and unlock doors. youtube/google is filled with videos on repairing these broken handles and people complaining about the frequency in which they break.

Sun visor on passenger side fell down while driving

The sunvisors will not stay up against the ceiling, or against the windshield, and drop down into my line of sight when i don't want them to.

The driver's side sun visor is defective. i barely used this and it will not stay in place, which makes it a hazard while driving because it will not stay in place. nissan you have been made aware of this defective part and this should be recalled. it makes driving hazardous.

My brake light would not go off. it caused my car to stall as i was driving, it eventually shut off and drained my battery. it was really scary. i took my car in for service at the nissan dealership. they did a diagnostic test. as a result they replaced my switch assy. stop lamp and relay. i was really upset to pay for a service that i did not cause. especially when there was a recall out for the same model, make and of my car i did share with the nissan customer service my issue.

My exterior brake lights seem to be stuck in the “on” position. when this happens i cannot fully accelerate, i’m able to switch the gear from park to reverse without applying pressure to the brake pedal. the ignition can also be started without the brake pedal being pressed. the exterior lights remai on even after the truck as been turned off.

I experienced the following with my transmission on separate occasions; car jumping into low gear and significantly high rpms driving uphill, car jumping into low gear and significantly high rpms driving downhill, and gears “slipping”. i received a recall notice from the nhtsa in 2017 for my vehicle’s transmission. i took my car into the dealership and detailed what i believe to have been transmission issues and as i have experienced them. i was told the dealership repaired the issue, they offered an extended warranty through january 1, 2021 or until my car reached 84k miles. i thought the issues was addressed and went on with life. even when i experienced similar issues i doubted it was transmission related as i was assured the issue was addressed by the dealership. i started to think it was brakes related, a frozen caliper or something. it wasn’t until recent when i was driving down a steep hill when my car suddenly “jumped” into a low gear and i had to shift into neutral in order to get down the hill did i realize this issue was in fact transmission related. i took my car into the same dealership and explained the issue. the dealership performed the diagnostics and determined there is a transmission issue and that i needed to replace my transmission. my car is at 92k miles at this point and outside of the extended warranty. nissan states they will only cover 70% of the repair costs. i urged them to consider the fact that i had previously voiced concerns which are captured in their records and that the dealership was only able to now duplicate the issue i had previously voiced in 2017 when my car was within the extended warranty period. nissan states because the dealership was not able to duplicate the issue then, they will not honor 100% of the repair costs and are offering the 70% out of goodwill. i believe i and others may be treated unfairly by this car company.

The sun visors have always not fully returned to the position when closed like all others do. however, without warning the driver’s sun visor broke during vehicle operation on an interstate. impeding the vision of the driver, during operation, is exceedingly dangerous. i had to drive with one hand holding the visor in place.

While stationary and moving my vehicle brake lights have stayed on even when i am out of the car and the car is off. i had an incident in which the ignition button was able to be turned on without my foot being on the pedal, as if the brake pedal was already pressed. the car stutters to accelerate after braking. i worked to have this addressed through nissan after seeing a recall with similar issues on this year and model. nissan rejected fixing the problem due to my vin number not being associated with that recall. i had a diagnostic run by my local nissan dealer which stated that the brake control and push button stater switch need replacing. i reference nhtsa campaign number: 16v380000 as similar to my case.

Sun visors are an issue for so many nissan pathfinder owners! they need to be recalled. sun visors do not stay up. they fall while driving when you possibly get them to stay. when they won’t stay up they stay down and myself and passengers are constantly hitting our heads on them. it obstructs my view while driving even when my seat is all the way down.

The driver side visor broke. at time of purchase, both visors made a loud clicking sound when they were pulled down or pushed up. the plastic attached to the hinge broke. after looking up this issue online, it appears that several thousand people had similar issues with their nissan pathfinders. the broken plastic prevents the visor from being pushed all of the way up, thus causing the driver's vision being partially blocked.

Driver side sun visor started coming down last year then finally broke. we bought a new one and installed it for $100. then 6 months later the passenger side broke. we have hit our heads numerous times and other passengers as well. then, just 3 weeks ago the newly installed driver side sun visor started coming down. this is very annoying and painful when colliding with the broken sun visor. nissan should give recall on their 2014 pathfinder sun visors. during driving the visor hangs halfway down which obstructs the driving view and also reduces depth of field vision for braking purposes.

My vehicle is reporting to me that the passenger side airbag is off. even when a passenger is seated in the seat and the vehicle is driver, the airbag light stays on. it came on 3 months after purchase and the dealer states they will have to charge me to check the issue. it seems this is a major issue with this year and model pathfinder. the light does not turn off. ive tried resetting tricks and still no result.

When i turn the heater off, i keep hearing a knock noise coming out of the heater.

While driving approx 20 mph i bumped against the curb on the road i was driving. this insignificant bump caused the entire passenger side curtain airbag and passenger seat airbag to deploy. my wife and son were taken to the er. vehicle was not struck, no body damage, some curb rash on the wheels. over aggressive air bag inflation.

At low speed, when you accelerate, the vehicle "shudders." it shakes and then as you speed up it normalizes.

Cvt transmission problems since the vehicle purchased as new on 05/08/2014. reported to nissan dealer at regular service the transmission is jerking and bucking in early january 2017. since then vehicle at dealer service many times once for almost 4 weeks at a streach. multiple software and program/updates with no resolution of problem. nissan consumer affairs not responding to calls or messages left. 8/08/17 transmission rebuilt with no correction of problem. 9/11/2017 transmission replaced with no results. as of 10/31/17 pathfinder at dealer. as per shop manager judder/jutter still present and they are waiting for nissan response. the transmission jerks and jumps shaking whole vehicle. nissan service unable to fix after mutiple attempts over a span of 11 months. i beleive this could be a safety issue to all in the vehicle and around if transmission fails, since this vehicle is equipped to carry 7 passengers. nissan consumer affairs and the sales department are ignoring messages. the problem happens regularly when vehicle travelling in urban roads under 40 mph speed. this vehicle purchased as new. serviced only by nissan dealer where it was brought from.

My drivers side interior door handle all of a sudden broke. i had to crawl out of my car from the passenger side to exit/enter my vehicle. and, my drivers side visor is broken and hangs down--obstructing my visibility while driving. both problems occurred at 53,000 miles and are a safety hazard. both problems also seem to be a very common issue with the nissan pathfinder and of course are not covered when basic warranty expires at 36,000 miles.

I experienced issues with both the passenger and driver side sun visors where they would no longer stay up. from the driver side this obstructs the vision which causes a safety issue. additionally this occurred on the passenger side where it would significant hurt a passenger in the event of an accident. i researched this online as well as talked to the dealer and this is a wide spread and known issue. i have attached a picture of the passenger side before i got it fixed at my own cost. this should be a recall as its a safety issue and there is nothing you can do to keep the visor out of the way once the visor breaks.

At slow speed car started shaking in hot weather with a/c on.

I started noticing a slight slip in the transmission when i first purchased the vehicle, i didn't think much of it because it was a new vehicle. then i would notice shaking periodically on the freeway; thinking it was the road. now, fast forward my car obviously has a bigger issue. i was on the freeway and my car began to spudder and jerk and felt like i was going to lose power. i immediately exited the freeway and took the streets worried it was going to fall apart on me. i drove a few miles and jumped back on the freeway thinking it would go away. nope! same thing happened and i was extremely frightened that i was going to get smashed from behind. the spudder feels as if you are going off roading. this occurred on the freeway when proceeding to accelerate after slowing in traffic. i thought for sure i was breaking down and my vehicle was staling.

Was notified of nhtsa recall 16v-244 in early june 2016 of a problem with engaging front passenger seat airbag. this specific problem was initially noted by me (owner) in november 2013. nissan supporsedly reloaded software which solved problem, even though we continued to have indication from dashboard light of non-engagement when seat was occupied. now almost two year later we receive this recall notice. scheduled recall fix appointment with priority nissan chantilly service department for 6/29/16 and was reconfirmed for appointment by dealership on three separate occasions. upon arrival at schedule appointment (0800, 6/29/16) was rudely informed by dealership that no parts were available for fix. lost time and not fix after almost two years and now two months from formal recall notice. dealership didn't seem to be concerned with my concern. now i ask for your assistance in determining whether my vehicle is safe for a passenger in the front seat, when airbag does not engage. more importantly, what is nissan usa doing to assure dealerships are taking this recall seriously and what actions to obtain appropriate parts for fix are being taken.

We had a new 2014 nissan pathfinder that was less than a year old. we were hit from behind into another car. it was enough impact to total a new car. the side airbags deployed when the impact was front/back. neither the driver or the passenger airbags deployed. i had a lot of bruising from the seat belt & my husband had a head related injury like a concussion due to the impact as well as us both having back pain issues. i feel that if i hadn't been wearing my seat belt seeing how badly i was bruised & a knot in my breast from the impact that i would have definitely hit the windshield or worse. i was in a much less severe accident when i was a child & hit my head on the windshield. that is why i feel very strongly that if i hadn't been wearing my seat belt, it failed,etc that i would have hit the windshield. i have personal experience unfortunately before i realized how important seat belts were. we always wondered why the front airbags (both passenger and driver) didn't deploy considering the impact was from the rear and front. now that there is a recall, it makes perfect sense. the side passenger airbags did deploy, but not the front passenger... or driver for that matter. we were completely stopped in a tunnel due to a quick traffic problem when the car behind us hit us. the impact was hard enough to push us into the stopped car in front of us. they had to close the tunnel down to tow our car as well as the car behind us out of the tunnel. 2 of 3 cars were not drive-able and our car was totaled. i am sure the car behind us was totaled also. we ended up getting a 2015 nissan pathfinder - because we thought it was one of the safest options - & now there is a recall on those airbags but the parts aren't available. so this is very concerning... photos attached are of the side airbags that deployed. at least 2 injuries +.

Someone ran into my car and the airbag deployed and caused a mild concussion and burned on my chest area. also, the seatbelts came loose upon impact. we were turning left and someone ran a red light and hit the side of the pathfinder.

After just one year of ownership, the driver's side sun visor is now obstructing clear view of the road, causing a safety hazzard! this is one of many complaints i have read online, and i hope it does not take for someone to get hurt in order for a recall to be initiated. now, my passenger side visor is doing the same thing...this is an obvious defect in the parts. i am awaiting the service department's solution, and hopefully they call us back.

The computer in my 2014 nissan pathfinder continued to present difficulties. these malfunctions were documented with nissan and the computer was in fact replaced. we were in negotiations with nissan to warranty the computer with the powertrain warranty. on april 1, 2016 my wife started the vehicle in the driveway and went inside to let it warm up. when she went out (approximately 10 minutes later) the vehicle was gone. it had slipped into drive on its own and gone straight down into the woods, taking out two trees and hitting a telephone pole at the bottom of the hill. the airbags did not deploy. nissan's finding were that the black box within the vehicle did not show anything and, therefore, they were not taking responsibility for it. we have all the documentation for the difficulties with the vehicle leading up the collision.

Transmission failure- my vehicle has had a shudder when turning and at low speeds since day one, and it was purchased brand new. it now has 38,000 miles. each time i brought it in for the shudder, the dealer would blame it on some 'other' issue. since i bought the car, i have replaced the tires 2 times at the advice of the dealer (yes, they tried to blame it on the tires) and have had the brakes replaced at their advice. none of that fixed the shudder. i've spent a few thousand dollars proving that. last week it was at the dealer for 4 days, and they admitted there is still a shudder, which is constant and gets worse when going uphill, but said it is because my tires are "square". brand new tires they just talked me into buying. they told me there is nothing more they will do and asked me to come get my vehicle . this is the fourth dealership my car has been to. i picked up the vehicle and not 2 blocks down the road at about 10 mph it started violently jerking and no amount of gas would make it go. it stalled in the middle of the road, with my baby in the back seat. it did the same thing several more times on the way back to the dealership. their mechanic drove it and again, it immediately jerked violently as he first pressed the gas pedal- he did not experience it stall (or said he didn't ). now they admit it is not tires and said they need the computer to verify that there is a problem. they won't fix it unless the computer says there is an issue, even though it is not drivable. nissan corporate called me today to say the computer says there is no issue and told me i have to return the loaner car and pick my broken down pathfinder back up. no repair will be performed, since the "computer" isn't getting a fault code. so i am stuck with a $40,000 hunk of junk that i can't drive or even sell. corporate even said that if it is not drivable, i should tow it away.

Passenger side airbag turns off with adult sitting in passenger seat. the malfunction occurs when sitting still or in motion. the vehicle has been to the dealership 6 times for the issue. the implementation of the recall was the first attempt to fix the problem. three attempts later nissan directed the dealership to replace all components for the passenger side airbag and the problem is not fixed. of note, the dealership is very courteous, provides me with a loaner vehicle each time, but acts like my car is the only nissan to ever have this problem. 2014 nissan pathfinder platinum 4wd 30,000 miles

The airbag warning lite comes on when the vehicle is started & frequently stays on for the entire trip even when a heavy adult is seated in the passenger side seat.

While driving to work, on the main road, i started seeing smoke blowing from the vents. i pulled off the road and within no time the vehicle was in flames.

Ongoing issue with front passenger occupant classification system. "airbag off" occasionally lights up (before moving and while moving) indicating that the airbag is off even though the passenger seat is occupied with seat belt on. nissan ocs service record: 12/17/2013 ocs reprogrammed by dealer prior to purchase date of 1/16/2014 2,480 miles 5/16/2014 ocs reprogrammed by dealer 6,777 miles 10/24/2014 ocs seat sensor reprogrammed by dealer 13,447 1/28/2015 new airbag pressure detection sensor & controller assembly-occupant sensor installed 17,831 miles 12/22/2015 ocs checked by dealer and dealer states no problem found. contrary to the dealers finding, the ocs light still comes on at least once a week. date and times are being recorded. this will become a very unsafe situation in the event i do not notice that the light is on and an accident were to occur. an outside source has told me that this is a software issue because if i turn the car off when the light is on, the light will go off. nissan has no idea how to fix this problem.

We have taken this vehicle in four times to nissan to be fixed and the airbag sensor light still comes on when an adult sits in the passenger seat while the vehicle is moving.

Purchased 2014 pathfinder nissan from nalley nissan in decatur, georgia. prior to purchasing i conducted my research and was informed that the their was a recall on the hood latch. i was informed that this had been repaired. after returning home with the car over 170 miles, the 2nd day (rainy morning) while traveling with my two daughters, hood blew back (bending both sides), which blinded my visibility, thus forcing me to steer off the road to avoid hitting others. the dealer was not responsive and i contacted nissan headquarters. after 2-weeks, an investigator came and ruled that the hood was not repaired properly. it took nearly 4-additional weeks to process paperwork. after 6-weeks of paying out of pocket for car rentals (they would not pay nor assist me with getting a rental car) which caused financial hardship; emotional distress (emergency room visits and several doctors appointments); and not to mention two paid car notes without the car. nissan headquarters called to inform me they can only repair the car again and refund me my car rental fees. i am concerned that the hood on this car is a lemon defect that will jeopardize my safety as well as others. is there any other course of action that could be demanded from the nissan such as a refund for the car or new car replacement (2014)? i am not comfortable with the repairs to a hood latch for a 2nd time. recall #15v033000.

The automatic transmission (cvt) on my 2014 nissan pathfinder is very noisy, specially when driven cold. during normal driving conditions, sometimes slips and feels like the car looses power. this is happening since about 5,000 miles. now 7,000 miles and the problem continues. feels like the noise is getting louder as more miles are put on the car.

I bought a new nissan 2014 pathfinder about 16 months ago and have experienced multiple transmission issues, which causes the car to shutter and jerk violently at speeds usually between 20-30 and 40-50. the symptoms started out every so often and then progressed to happening every time i drove the vehicle. at about 25k miles it got frequent, which is when we took it into the nissan dealership and they determined that we needed a new transmission, and we had it replaced. a short time after having the transmission replaced (about 2 months), we noticed the shutter symptoms happening again at the same speeds. this time around, we also noticed when we went down large hills, the rpms would shoot up uncontrollably at speeds less than 20 and begin to shutter the car, which was dangerous and it felt like we could not control the descent. we took the vehicle back to the nissan dealership and indeed, another transmission failure. the dealership called it a transmission valve problem (not exactly sure what that is) this time around, which is part of the transmission. nissan has known about these cvt failures for a couple of years and has continued to sell them knowing they don't know why they keep having failures. bottom line is, take it in when you feel the first shutter.these cars need to be all bought back from the consumers.

The passenger airbag off light will come on even with an adult passenger seated. have take this to the dealer service department and they were unable to repeat the event. still having this issue. mostly seems to happen if the occupancy changes while car is running. (i.e. passenger gets in after car is running)

The airbag sensor does not consistently acknowledge there is a passenger sitting in the front passenger seat. there has been a previous recall (14v138000) for this exact issue but doesn't include my vin. my local dealership (peoria nissan) refused to do anything to the car since it wasn't impacted by the recall. they told me to contact nissan corporate. i contacted nissan consumer affairs (case # 20615944) and they told me the reason the airbag sensor doesn't recognize a passenger is because my wife weighs 120 lbs. the vehicle isn't designed to pick up an individual of that stature 100% of the time. i believe this is completely ridiculous and they just don't want to expand their previous recall. i'm in fear for the safety of my wife who routinely sits in that seat and isn't recognized by the airbag. this happens both after starting the vehicle or while driving down the road (airbag light randomly comes on identifying not in use).

The "passenger air bag light off" is illuminated even though an adult is sitting in the passenger seat. this seems to happen more frequently when the occupancy is changed while the vehicle is running. the vehicle will have to be turned off, then restarted to clear this condition. this seems to happen less frequently if the adult is sitting in the passenger seat before the vehicle is started. this has happened multiple times since our purchase. we have had to the dealer multiple times for this issue. they can't ever seem to duplicate it while they have the vehicle. they supposedly reprogram one of the computers, but this condition is still happening.

Case # 20303916 - filed with nissan consumer affairs. electrical malfunction with door locking mechanism, lift-gate, dvd headset & remote as well as transmission is hard to pull and gets stuck. due to malfunction with door locks, our 2 year old baby was locked in the car. we had to break the window to get her out. since the key fob was in the car, the car should have never locked. we have provided nissan consumer affairs with video footage of the lift gate and key fob malfunctions.

Purchased pre owned 2014 nissan pathfinder sl 4x4 wit 30,000 miles from serra visser cullman, al nissan dealer in may 2015. shortly after purchase noticed passenger air bag light would malfunction (meaning showing that it was off) when someone was sitting in passenger seat. even when no one was sitting in seat it would show air ag was active when it should be turned off. took to same service dept. i bought vehicle from. they ran diagnostics and said vehicle was functioning as it should and to basically ignore light. i was told "trust me your air bag will activate". now vehicle has 37,100 miles and starting to notice the cvt transmission will shudder/judder at certain speeds. take for instance yesterday between 20-25 mph the vehicle just started to jerk significantly. took to serra visser nissan in cullman and they said that there was a technical service bulletin out on the problem and that it needs reprogrammed. the cost was 105 at my expense. i declined because this should fall under the power train warranty and proceeded to call nissan consumer affairs hotline to open case about issues. i have researched online and have read hundreds of complaints about the same exact problems. it seems that none of the reprogramming, replacing transmissions, torque converters even solves the problem. ive even read where it is a design flaw in transmission. i'm hoping they put a recall out for these issues or by back vehicles. i dont feel safe in it and certainly dont believe owners should pay to have any of these issues resolved.

2014 nissan pathfinder purchased 12/31/2013. transmission acted odd within first month of ownership, but was told it takes some time to get use to the cvt. accepted the judder for about a year, as it was only occurring during slow speeds in parking lots. had a couple close calls in the spring of 2015, where the transmission shook violently and the car was stalling in intersections. dealer said they needed to flash the computer to fix the problem. wife drove the car 9/15 (12,000 miles on odometer), car continued to judder, so we took it back to the dealership. dealership unable to replicate. service manager said that they know there is an issue, but until the computer throws a fault code, they are not authorized to perform work. i called nissan na, they didn't really care, said that the regional rep would call at some point. 9/17, service rep called and said they still cannot find a code, asked that i pick it up and continually drive it in the condition that creates the judder and force the car to throw a code so they can work on a fix. purchase new, two times in the shop, two more and i will pursue state lemon law. outstanding dealership and service manager support, but their hands are tied on this one. bottom line is that the nissan corporation knows there is a problem, but refuses to fix. the safety of my family and other occupants in the vehicle is not important. severe injury or death, as the result of loss of power is not enough to fix. evidently the $4000.00 for a new transmission and torque converter is more valuable than my families life. who says you cannot put a price on human life, nissan does.

The airbag in the passenger seat shows as "off" even when a full grown adult sits in the seat. the issue is intermittent but has been happening for quite some time. communications with nissan consumer affairs have resulted in no solution. they have indicated that since the computer is not showing an error code they cannot fix it. they did not acknowledge the long string of customer complaints on the subject.

The tires wore very quickly on the back. i took the car to dealer where it was purchased. i only had the vehicle for 5-6 months when i first noticed how badly the tread had worn down. the front tires are worn very badly and i barely have 26000 miles. there is no reason the tires should have worn down this quickly. within less than two years i will have had to replace all of the tires.

The passenger airbag off indicator light is coming on when there is a adult passenger is in the seat. after repeated complaints on it, nothing has been done by the nissan service center to resolve the issue. i am forced to video capture every thing while driving to show it as a evidence, as they are not taking this seriously.

The passenger side airbag light was staying on in my car, i took it to ray shultens and they put in new sensors and recalibrated the seat. the day after the repair as we were driving on the interstate i noticed the light was on and my son was in the seat. him shifting in the seat did not change anything and the light stayed on which indicates the airbags will not deploy on the passenger side if we were in an accident. i had to pull off the interstate, have him get out and restart the car. this happened again this past weekend with myself as the passenger ( grown adult 5'6", 140 lbs). today i took it into the dealership for repair, but was told they couldnt come up with any diagnostic codes and " that this is how the system works, there is no weight limitation on the system and if you shift in the seats it could turn off the airbag, and that this is normal and how the system was designed". i am concerned for the safety anyone driving in this car as a passenger. it is unbelievable to me that this can be considered "normal". this is a safety issue and my car should have a passenger side airbag in it that works!

Driving west on hwy 60 from nashville, tn to branson mo. no cars in front of me, just open fields on each side. i hear what sounds like an explosion. i look around and realize that i hear wind and glass above my head as well. appox. 8 by 12 inches of glass was gone from the center of my sunroof. luckily, my visor was closed or it could have been much worse with glass falling on my head and face. the dealer said that they've never heard of this before, but upon further research it seems to be a much more common occurrence than than i was lead to believe. this is an extremely dangerous issue and could have been much worse if my visor had been left open.

I have taken my nissan to the dealership 5 times now for the same issue. the airbag light comes on, indicating that the airbag is deactivated, even when i am sitting on the front passenger side of the car. i am an adult women. i brought it up to their attention - they could not duplicate the issue. i told them that it does not do it all the time. then it happened again - i took a picture, they said the same thing and did whatever to it - kept my car for a month, i went to pick it up and it did it again, while driving. this time i took a video, called it in to nissan, again. they called in a specialist (why they didn't do it when they had the car for a month is beyond me). he looked at it and said there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. he continued by saying that the seat belt is all i really needed anyway. that if it happens again i need to turn the car off and wait 10 sec. and the car would realign itself, that it was probably due to the way i was sitting on the seat and the car knows what to do. i am done with nissan - they are basically telling me that when it happens, let's say on the freeway, as it has, if i want the airbag, i need to pull to the side of the freeway (dangerous), let it sit for 10 sec. and then re-join traffic(dangerous) or i keep going without the benefit of the airbag. i bought the car because i wanted a safe car for my new grandchild - the salesman can testify to this. i can't trust the car, i will not sit anyone in the front passage seat because i do not know if the airbag will work when needed - but then again, according to nissan - "all i really need is the seatbelt".

Over the last 6 months the front passenger air bag light will come on occasionally indicating the air bag is not working even though there is an adult in the seat that weighs over 140 pounds. once we drove it that way to the nissan dealer where the service manager saw the light on but said they had no way to fix it. we have no idea if the airbag would work if in an accident. the latest incident was july 17, 2015.

I have been experiencing a shuddering and hesitation with my transmissions for months now. i usually feel this when accelerating from low speeds. it is a shaking/vibrating felling and it feels like the car does not want to shift gears. i have complained about this to east charlotte nissan since october, where at first i was told it was a recall. well, another individual,said it was not showing up as a recall at that time. i took it back in december, but the car still did not have a recall. as the problem persisted, i took it back to the same dealership where i was told that the transmission was given an update and that if it continued to bring it back because nissan requires them to go through a series of steps before replacing the transmission. well this past week (june 15-21), it has gotten much worse. in addition to the shuddering, hesitation, and vibration while accelerating, the vehicle has begun almost acting like it was to stall while decelerating. this is becoming extremely dangerous and it needs to be corrected. i have another aappointment scheduled for tuesday. hopefully this time i will get some results.

Multiple times when making a right or left turn in awd when moderate to forceful acceleration is required to make the turn or be hit by oncoming vehicles. from a dead stop, a turn is executed and the accelerator is depressed between half-throttle and full-throttle. the vehicle responds normally at first but about 1-2 seconds into the turn the powertrain cuts out and will not accelerate to more than a crawl. this can last up to 6 seconds and puts the vehicle in jeopardy. i have experienced this on multiple occasions and have narrowly escaped collisions several times. when this happens, i have tried different things in order to get the car to respond. none of the following has worked: releasing the accelerator and reapplying (pumping). giving and holding full throttle. my uneducated opinion is that this is a software glitch for the cvt. i think that the transmission assumes that there is wheel spin upon acceleration (although there is none) and the anti-skid software reduces engine power to prevent wheel spin. this has put me in life threatening situations. i reported it to nissan at the first complimentary oil change and was told that it was nothing to worry about. when i pull out in front of a speeding 18-wheeler, i worry. i feel that i cannot depend on reliable acceleration in normal traffic conditions. the condition is difficult to repeat on-command.

Bought 2014 pathfinder in 12/2013. noticed transmission vibration and shudder during long trip and upon return complained to dealer. i had not heard of this problem in other nissan vehicles so was unaware. took vehicle to dealer who did test drive, but said could not duplicate, but said problem was with continuously variable transmission (cvt) torque converter. offered no remedy. i do not feel secure in traffic as do not know if transmission is damaged by shuddering. nissan did a cvt reprogram to improve transmission diagnostic and service, but i do not know what this does to improve performance of transmission. nissan will tell me nothing. i am requesting a cvt recall by nhtsa to facilitate necessary repairs as it i regard the unit a safety hazard.

My passenger airbag light is lite when someone is sitting in seat saying the airbag will not activate...this still is happening even after taking it to dealer for recall...i took it back to them with this concern and they told me that the computer says it didn't happen...i have pictures ..it does it on occasion...should i be concerned when the light is on and passenger is in seat? also, very bad blind spot on driver side /side view mirror and column almost hit several people...there should be a blind spot warning ....i shared concerns with dealer...one of the techs has a 2013 and has the same problem...so why wasn't it reported...and corrected...they did in the rogue. *tr

We are grandparents to 16 grandchildren. we bought our 2014 pathfinder february 21, 2015 so we would be able to take some of grandchildren on trips with us. on april 4th, 2015 while driving on the freeway with 5 of our grandchildren the engine stopped with no warning. we almost got hit 6 different times while trying to figure out what happened and what to do. the fear that we felt for the safety of our grandchildren is describable. something no one should have to experience especially driving a brand new vehicle. the engine ended up shutting off 2 more times that same day. we took the pathfinder into the dealership only to be told that they did not find anything wrong.... april 11th, 2015 while driving our grandchildren out of town to a baseball game the engine shut off again...at this point we do not feel safe driving this vehicle, which is sad because it is brand new and we paid good money for it. it is back in the shop as of today, april 16th, with no answers. *tr

Transmission intermittently shudders at 10-20 mph causing poor drivability and potential loss of control. transmission has been reprogrammed several times and replaced with a rebuilt transmission at 19,413 miles. shuddering has started again, the dealer applied the latest recall (pc357) but no real change in operation. i started a case with nissan consumer affairs (18336725) but the contact has been extremely difficult to actually talk with. nissan left one voice mail while i have left 6 voice mails over 2 days with no call backs. *tr

Passengers airbag light came on showing air bag off even thou passanger seat was occupied. light has came on at least twice since then while passenger seat was occupied. i had the same problem with a 2013 pathfinder which was replaced with the 2014. in the event of a crash this could result in more serious injuries or death if air bag did not deploy. *tr

I have had the car back to the dealer on 4 different times, they claim to have fixed the airbag, but after the fix my light continues to be on intermittently even when an adult is in the passenger seat. i was told by the dealership that nissan said the airbag would deploy even though the light wasn't working. i feel that nissan is not honoring their warranty, i bought a new car and the light isn't working and i can't be sure the airbag is working either. i have also had problems with the electronic key, i was given a new battery in my fob but i still continue to get a no key detected at different times even when the car was running the dash will all of a sudden say no key detected. my last problem is with the car rolling back on a hill, i purchased an automatic, when stopped on a hill i have to gun the accelerator to stop the car from rolling back on the car behind me. the dealership informed me to treat the car like a manual and put my foot on the brake and the accelerator. the dealership told me there is nothing they can do that nissan will not repair anymore transmissions. this is totally unacceptable for a new car, if there is a problem with the transmission they should fix it. again i have had my suv into the dealership multiple times for this problem. *tr

Vehicle began to shudder and nearly stall at low speeds. vehicle would lose all power, and then suddenly surge. vehicle returned to abeloff nissan (broadheadsville, pa) , and the mechanic was able to verify the issue. nissan identified the issue as the cvt transmission and replaced the transmission. on 02/05/2015 this same loss of power was experienced while driving at low speed. my wife was entering roadway and vehicle lost power, nearly causing an accident. the vehicle was taken to the ken pollock nissan dealership in wilkes- barre, pa , and they were eventually able to duplicate the loss of power. nissan-usa advised the dealership to replace a brake light switch as the brake lights would not go off when parked. i picked up the vehicle from the dealership on 02/16/2015, and the next day the same loss of power occurred three times on a five mile trip. nissan -usa was contacted and a complaint filed. nissan has not been able to correct the problem, and have refused to buy back the vehicle. nissan continues to sell this model year, and i believe this is a major safety issue , and needs to be addressed. *tr

Within a few week of purchasing the vehicle we received a recall on the air bags concerning the passenger air bag and a small person. this was performed. later the warning light would come on when my wife, 106 pounds, was riding as a passenger. the vehicle was taken to a dealer and they had it for a few days and i believe replaced something. the problem continued, intermittently, when my wife sat in the passenger seat. i returned the car to a dealer two weeks ago and all they did was give me several sheets of papers, mostly from the handbook, about how the person must sit in the seat, in the center with their back against the seat back, feet on the floor, the heater fan off and even if the air bag did not deploy they were still well protected. they also said, in so many words, that this was all they were allowed to do. in other words nissan was not going to do anything. to expensive i guess. a friend of ours works for nissan and told us that nissan is well aware of this problem and has no plans to do anything about it. he also indicated that it was just not a pathfinder problem. so we have a thirty thousand dollar car and my wife has to sit in the back seat to be really save, or risk injury or death if we have a crash and the air bag does not deploy. *tr

Can't seem to get the airbag fixed on this car since we purchased it. dealer says there is nothing wrong with the passenger airbag. every time she sits in the passenger seat the air bag off light stays illuminated indicating the airbag is off. nissan can't fix the problem. so any time my wife sits in that seat the airbag won't work. currently she weighs 130 pounds and is 22 weeks pregnant so there should be enough weight there to activate the airbag. please help. just had a recall done. didn't fix the problem. *tr

Hesitation and stalling has happened several times. on one occasion i had 4 co-workers in the car at the time (they are all witnesses) and i pulled out to make a left hand turn in front of on coming cars and the car hesitated causing an almost catastrophic event. the dealer says that they can not just replace the transmission until it has been documented happening several times and even then they will not guarantee that it will fix the problem. i asked if they would trade out my car with the 2015 model because as stated by them the 2015 model does not have these issues and they said they would however, my payments would go up to an amount that i can not afford to make. they were unwilling to make my payments the same as they are now. the head of the customer service department actually stated that no matter what they do it will not fix the problem because it is the way the vehicle was manufactured by nissan. to date there is no actual "recall" on this problem. *tr

Acceleration / transmission problems with 2014 nissan pathfinder. issues began at 3100 miles. no acceleration from stop, or very minimal. felt as if the transmission was "slipping" and would not engage, or similar to drive a manual transmission at mph in 4th gear. issue recurred several times on my commute home. was stranded on the side of the road and required towing because i could not make the vehicle move forward at all. abnormal burning smell coming from front of car was observed. i was stranded in winter with a 3 month old in the car. at one point i was basically stuck in the middle of an intersection due to the lack of acceleration. i was nearly rear-ended in one case and was in serious danger of being sideswiped by oncoming traffic. depending on the situation, this issue could present a major safety hazard (and did for me). for the first time in my life, i was worried for my personal safety while driving a car. also observed erratic engine rpm's at idle (from 1000 to 1500) and while coasting. rpm would jump up and down with constant (or no) throttle applied. dealer has had the car for over 3 weeks at this point. initially they were not able to replicate the issue, and no error codes were shown on the computer. eventually they did replicate the issue and are now replacing the transmission control module after consulting with nissan. i have the impression that neither nissan or the dealer has any clue how to fix the issue. they are just trying different things to see what makes it work again. based on the lengthy list of similar complaints, nissan is apparently not too concerned... *tr

The electrical system is malfunctioning which is causing the parking brake sensor and the i-key sensor to turn on and off without the brake system being used. the radio and odometer screen is shutting off while driving, the mileage is fluctuating as well as the gas gauge. the dashboard was replaced by the dealer but the system is still malfunctioning. *tr

I was involved in a roll over accident and neither the driver or passenger airbags deployed. the side airbags did. the vehicle went head first into the ditch and then flipped over. the vehicle was recalled for the passenger airbag after i first bought it and supposedly "fixed." obviously not. the driver side airbag did not deploy either. my pathfinder is a total loss. this is definitely an issue. this vehicle has also had multiple other issues including the engine coils, transmission computer and finally the whole transmission has been replaced. terrible in the snow and vibrates like crazy! this vehicle is obviously unsafe and garbage! *tr

When i attempted to pull out in traffic from a stop, the vehicle started to move, then shuddered and stopped in front of oncoming traffic. it has done this a few times since then, the most recent was just over a week ago. after taking it to the dealers service dept., i was told it did the same thing with them driving it. i was told they have some kind of bulletin from the factory regarding this issue and it clearly states they have to replace the transmission. they provided another vehicle for me to drive and told me it will take 2 weeks for them to get another transmission and another 2-3 days to install it. two days after leaving it with them, i received a message stating my pathfinder was ready to be picked up. the message stated they had reprogrammed the transmission. i have tried calling several times to question this change of plans, but haven't been able to reach anyone who can explain. *tr

While driving 70mph on the interstate, car started surging just before the cvt transmission totally failed, redlining the engine. transmission had been shuddering and surging prior to the failure. nissan knows this is a problem with their cvt units, it's all over the internet. car was towed and cvt replaced. now 2000 miles later it's starting again. *tr

It is a pity that nissan includes a "navigation" system that will work only with maps of the country where they sell their vehicles. i use to drive into usa since i live close to the border; but i can't use the state of the art navigation system that nissan install in their cars, because they don't do it for it. i spent a lot of time trying with their third party for navigation systems here (former navteq) to make possible to upload maps for north america without success. definetely nissan on this regards sucks! *js

I bought my car new 11.23.13. on 10.06.14, i was driving on the freeway at about 70, my car stopped accelerating. i would try to push the gas pedal & nothing would happen. it would punch in & out & finally catch. about 20 min later, my car stopped accelerating & would punch in & out constantly & i would slow to about 50 mph where cars behind me are swerving not realizing i am slowing down so fast. i couldn't get it to accelerate & tried to get over onto the shoulder. it never accelerated again. i got a tow to the dealership & they figured it was my transmission. they called to tell me they replaced it & realized that the transmission wasn't the problem. the next day they said "you may have put in some bad gas." bad gas? whatever. so, they have no idea what the problem was. they drained the gas put some new gas in & gave me the car back 10.14.14. on 10.21.14, the problem came back. we were at a stop light. the car would not accelerate. this time i was with my husband & 2 young children (2 & 4). we shut off the car to reset it & turned it back on. we were able to get it moving again & drove back to the dealership. some nissan engineers came in to figure out what the problem was. the nissan rep called me to ask questions like, "how many miles did i drive before my car stopped accelerating (10 miles) & did the odometer & others reset (no). they had no idea what was causing my car to do this so they replaced the battery, alternator, control panel, you name it. got the car back 10.31.14 & on 11.05.14 it happened again. this time at night in the carpool lane. we made it home. this is scary now. the next day the car stalled at the red light. started it up again, & it went for a second & stalled. it did this twice. i got a tow to the dealership. i told them i do not want the car back due to fearing for the safety of myself & my children. so far, no help. will have to fight. *tr

The vehicle makes a high pitch noise when driving at low speed or in park. this noise was not present when test driving the car and apparently only begins to manifest itself after having been driven a few weeks or months. nissan knows about the issue as it is also a problem with the 2013 altima which also uses the new electronic power steering unit. nissan offers no real solution at the moment and deems the noise to be "acceptable" by no ones definition but their own. nissan's solution thus far is to wrap the tubes in tape to dampen the noise. thank you *tr

Backup camera monitor is flickering or video feed is moving up and down on monitor. problem is intermittent, but when present, image quality is very poor rendering backup camera feature useless. *tr

In stop and go freeway traffic when dropping under 20mph and reaccelerating transmission starts jerking at around 20 mph and occasionally does the same around 45mph. has also occurred going around corners at around 20mph. seems to occur when picking back up on throttle. when its starts jerking there is a loss of power until jerking stops. very unsafe when this happens. was told by service writer at metro nissan that there was not a fix for this problem yet. took to riverside nissan and transmission computer was reprogrammed on 9/27/14. service manager there said it fixes around 50 percent of the time.hoping i'm in that 50%. *tr

The whole dashboard shaking when you try to apply gas and it usually happen between the speed of 0-20mph only. i have an apt with the dealer on oct 7th to update the software what i am seeing on the website this is a known problem. paid $44k for this car and now i have to try and see if it fixes it. the dealer told me if the software update doesn't work then they will ask nissan usa corp to see to replace the transmission. i think people should stay away from cvt transmission from nissan as this could lead to a crash. good thing it only happens in low speed acceleration but if it happens in a high speed this will be a big issue. *tr

The driver side view mirror creates a real blind spot for the driver. it is smack in the middle of your face and blocks your view to the left for making left turns. also, at an intersection ( four way), you are unable to see a car stopped on your left awaiting to cross over or to make a left in front of you. i have had several near miss incidents and this is a real problem. the mirrors need to be redesigned and placed at a lower level thus giving you a clear view through the left or driver side window. *tr

We were stopped in traffic on the downhill portion of a city street when we were hit from behind by a nissan pickup traveling at approximately 30 miles per hour. we were approximately 10-12 feet behind the car in front of us as we'd stopped early due to wishing to leave room to move up in case of imminent impact (we could see the vehicle come fast and not slowing enough). my foot was on the brake and we were not moving at the time. the impact disengaged our brakes (my foot was still on the pedal and it was fully depressed). we hit the car in front of us at an angle and continued to roll forward for approximately 100 yards with no way of stopping. after pumping the pedal a few times the brakes once again engaged and i was able to stop the vehicle. i had the brakes checked the previous week by the nissan dealership i had purchased the vehicle from and they advised me there were no issues with the brakes. i feel that the brakes failed on this vehicle based on my past experiences in similar rear end collisions and have grave concerns about a defect. *tr

I called nissan in june to report that my car was shaking and trembling at times while driving. it happens while coasting, accelerating and braking. i brought it in and was told it needed a transmission update. 2 weeks later the problem returned. at times i need to turn the car off and restart it to get the shaking to stop. when i looked online this is a huge problem. over 29000 already are "lemons". i brought it back and was told they could not duplicate the problem. then brought it back and was told there was a new update (1 day later). i called nissan corporate and they were looking into buying the car. they then put in a new transmission as i had refused to pick up the car. they put it in the day they called to say it would be done tomorrow so when i called to ask them not to, it was already being done. now nissan will not buy the car as it has a new transmission. there are reports of having 3 new transmissions and the problem continues. cars are breaking down. nissan is ignoring the problem. i was told in 2-3 weeks they will call and if the car is ok they will offer a settlement. why a settlement if the car is ok unless they realize it is a problem? the fact that this is a continuation from 2013 problem, and the cars are continuing to be sold while nissan ignores the problem puts people in danger. cars are overheating and breaking down in the middle of the highway. someone needs to hold nissan accountable and put people first. i stated to corporate i should not have to be a test dummy for 2-3 weeks and put my life and others on the road in danger. no one at nissan will acknowledge that this is an ongoing issue for more than just myself. please advise. *tr

We have a 2014 nissan pathfinder sl, with 3551 miles on it. we purchased it used on 8-6-2014 with approximately 2240 miles on it, we are the second owner. on 8-20-2014, while attempting to access an interstate from an on-ramp we experienced a shutter and strong shaking of our 2014 nissan pathfinder sl, at that time it had approximately 3336 miles on it. we were forced to pull over, almost causing an accident. we turned the car off and restarted it to continue on the interstate but did not experience another incident that day. the following six days the car began doing the same thing but it would usually be several times a day. i did research on the transmission and found that the cvt transmission is rife with problems. we took the car to the local dealership (not where we purchased it) and they ran a dynamometer diagnostics on the car and said that the transmission would need to be replaced. as we were discussing this issue the tech mentioned that the records showed the transmission in this car had already been replaced once before, at approximately 2000 miles. also, i was informed by the dealership, who is going to replace the transmission, that they have been unable to get through to the nissan "cvt hotline" to report the problem and arrange for a new transmission. we have been told by the dealership that it will be replaced but that nissan is the hold up. it is extremely unfortunate that a car manufacturing company can get away with this and force customer to wait for a resolution when they know (and have known for years) that there is a problem. i sincerely hope that there will be a push by our government to resolve this ongoing problem with nissan and possibly a very large fine for nissan's deceptive practices by denying this problem, based on other people's reports who had reported this same cvt transmission problem dating as far back as 2003 .

Brand new never driven 2014 nissan pathfinder bought. within 3 days of buying vehicle, jerking motion, (like that of going over a rumble strip), while at steady 20mph. jerking stopped with braking and/or accelerating. did not happen again till weeks later. taken to dealership. told nothing was wrong with it after testing for reported 20 miles. problem continued. now happens at high speeds. safety concern as when driving on highway at high speeds, jerks forward, causing breaking, with near rear end crash occurrence. *tr

The air bag light issue on the nissan pathfinder continues to be an issue for me. i have brought the car in to the service center in excess of 5 times over the course that i have had the car (purchased in october 2013) for the air bag light issue. when a passenger sits in the seat, the air bag off light may stay on during the course of the drive, indicating that the air bag is turned off. this does not happen every time a passenger is in the seat and only at random times. the service center has updated the system programming in accordance with the nissan pathfinder recall against the airbag issue. the service center has also replaced the air bag sensor. over the course of time, none of these "fixes" have resolved the issue. i have come to find that it may be a programming issue with the air bag -- if a passenger is not fully seated and still at the moment the car is turned on, the sensor will not properly register the passenger weight. typically, when the weight is undetermined or cannot be immediately read, the car will keep the air bag off light on assuming that it falls outside of the "adult weight" category. the light will remain on for at least another 10 minutes of driving when it finally re-registers the passenger weight. these types of situations can be characterized in multiple ways -- car turns on and passenger is still getting in seat; passenger sits down as the car is turning on; passenger is fully seated but slightly moves during the weight registration; etc. regardless of the situation, when this happens, the driver can drive for a number of miles with no air bag until the sensor re-registers the passenger weight and realize an adult is in the seat. nissan's programming of the air-bag sensor is not within the federal motor vehicle safety standards for air bag safety. i request that the nhtsa please review nissan's air bag programming and validate safety. *tr

Problem one-the airbag off light is on when a 200 plus pound occupant is in the front passenger seat. the recall has been performed and is continuing to fail. it has happened 4 times after the recall was performed. 3 times caught on film/ video and forwarded to the dealer and manufacturer. nissan sent an engineer to ride with me on 7/31/2014 and blamed the government for the failure. he said that nissan sets up the parameters based on the government guidelines and if the light is on and airbag is off that is because it needs to be on and disabled. call me crazy but that sounds like horse crap and deflection to me. i can forward you the videos if you would like. problem two- the cvt transmission started shuddering around 2200 miles and is continually getting worse. they performed a software update and said that should solve the problem. it has continually gotten worse. the nissan engineer rode with me on 7/31/2014 and said that he felt the shudder and that it was a cost of achieving cafa standards and was acceptable. he stated that when most customers are told that the shudder is there because of fuel economy they accept it and are satisfied. he implied that i was just being difficult and hard to please. i informed him that i would not have purchased the vehicle if that was the way it drove at the test drive and expressed that it was constantly getting worse and he dismissed the claim. *tr

The vehicle began to "shudder" around 25 mph. it happened the next day after i purchased it. i took it to dealer on following monday to do undercoating and told them about the issue. they could not duplicate it. i took it in about a week later and they still could not duplicate it. i was in the area of the dealership when the issue occurred. i arrived at dealership and supervisor went for a ride with me and was able to duplicate the issue. they confirmed it was the transmission. it took them about a week to get the part and had my vehicle for almost a full week to install transmission. once i received my vehicle back from them i started having issues with the car not starting. after about 5 tries, the vehicle would start and all mileage and fuel gauges would go back to zero. i was recently able to get the car back to the dealer and they determined the battery was half dead. they recharged the battery last monday, june 16th. i had no issues for the first few days and on thursday, june 19th, the car would not start again. it took many tries to get it started. i had to return to the dealer again today. as of right now they do not know why the battery keeps draining. *tr

I am having problems with the cruise control on my new nissan pathfinder 2014. 1. cruise control intermittently disengages going down a shallow but straight road. in a 3 to 4 mile driving stretch, it will, at times, disengage 2 to 3 times. 2. the €œset€ and “resume€ toggle switch at times then does not re-engage the cruise control. the switch acts dead. i then have to switch off the cruise control and then switch it back on to have the toggles switch work but not always. 3. the cruise and set indicators on the instrument panel do not flicker. the nissan dealer carried out a test run and found the cruise control disengaging exactly as stated above. they replaced part #25550-3ks1a, switch assembly-ste, to resolve the problem but it did not. they reiterate that such a condition of cruise disengagement as stated in the owner’s manual is considered normal and acceptable. having read the owner’s manual, i do not find any mention of the toggle switch intermittently acting dead after disengagement of the cruise control nor the high frequency of the disengagement. this condition is causing me to concentrate more on the instrument panel rather than on the road. i am repeatedly unsure whether the cruise is engaged or not. this distraction could result in a fatal accident. it'€™s like texting while driving. either way, the end result would be an avoidable fatality(s).this condition clearly amounts to a road safety hazard. the manufacturer, by merely stating that the cruise may disengage driving down in hilly terrain cannot absolve itself of the responsibility for the safety of the occupants of the car. such high frequency of cruise disengagement and toggle switch failure cannot be considered normal. more than likely a software design problem. *tr

I have a serious vibration problem with the hood on my 2014 pathfinder - the problem occurs at about 55 mph - the front side of the hood shakes during normal driving and becomes violent when a semi is coming towards me on a 2 lane rd - nissan has had 2 engineers look at this car and they have also installed larger weatherstrips on the frt side of the hood - these strips have tamed the vibration down however the vibration is enough to cause cups in the cup holder to rattle. being an insurance adjuster for over 20 years i understand the reasons manufacturers use aluminum hoods however safety should not be reduced for fuel economy - per glen nakagawa with nissan they have designed a new hood for 2015 to hopefully correct the problem for most owners - my problem is not just with vibration on the front side of the hood but with the hood lifting above the fenders at the hinges when a semi approaches me - the stress that is being placed on steel hinges attached to an aluminum hood is incredible and i feel that it is a matter of time until one or the other fails potentially causing a fatal accident - i should not be in fear while driving a brand new 46000 dollar vehicle - nissan is going through the motions and has stated they may purchase the vehicle back, however now they are completely ignoring all phone calls and emails - having researched this issue on line and hearing nissans own words it is obvious that something needs to be done. *tr

Spent $42,000+ when we bought the '14 pathfinder platinum w/premium pkge on 03/06/14 and it started the "shudder" on 03/19/14. after coming to a complete stop, upon re-acceleration, it would shudder when i hit 20 mph. it felt like the vehicle was fighting against me to speed up. i took it back to the dealership and after looking at it they are putting a whole new transmission in it. after reading several reviews online (edmonds, kbb, etc), this transmission shuddering at 20 mph is a frightfully common problem. *tr

A) at 9+ miles shifter mechanism not recognizing i was in drive mode or started with i-key error, graduated to obd code p0850 over the next few miles. i was told the fob needed to be programmed. cruise control not working, turned out the shifter mechanism was at fault - does not recognize vehicle is in drive more or parked or neutral. b) passenger side air bag indicator not working noticed at approx. 120 miles. was instructed the seat needed calibration. seat calibrated. c) told the airbag: was told the issue was possibly the weight of the passenger, how the passenger sat in the seat etc. later told the dtc code needed to be cleared. 3 hrs later was told the air bag control module needs to be replaced. d) passenger side airbag still not working at approx. 2500 miles. intermittent after the airbag control module is replaced. e) airbag control module replaced - airbag indicator still not working correctly, nissan consumer affairs told me the car is not going to be recalled. i should get the vehicle fixed at a dealer. still nissan does not think there is any major issue with the vehicle and it is not a lemon and should not be replaced. f) read all documents related to the recall notice on nhtsa's website. none of the documents mention the passenger side seat belt indicator (audio or visual indicator). issue is when the passenger occupancy module fails, i believe the seat belt indicator is also not working correctly either. i wrote to nissan consumer affairs they do not seem to care, nhtsa [xxx] instructed me to file a complaint. i just want nissan to acknowledge and fix the seat belt issue along with the airbag so consumers are safe. i am not sure if the shifter is related or not but it is odd several electronic components failed. dealer wants to replace all sensors, i do not think it will fix it. nissan insists my vehicle is not involved in any campaign. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

The hood of the 2014 nissan pathfinder shakes/vibrates when driving at high speeds 60 m/h. took it to dealership and they told me thats the way it is supposed to be. i am afraid that the hood will come open in the middle of the hwy causing an accident. *tr

Purchased two 2014 nissan pathfinders on october 2013 from sheehy nissan of annapolis. after 1500 miles on one of them started hearing a noise from the left driver's side area only when going over 55mph. took to dealership tech heard the same problem but was not sure what was causing the noise. after a week pasted someone from nissan came down to look at the truck at this point i told dealer i no longer wanted truck and that i would like another new vehicle in its place and did not mind paying a few dollars more for and upgraded model. so the gm came back with some good numbers and off the lot i went with another brand new 2014 fully loaded pathfinder on march 8th 2014 i started feeling this very hard shuddering when driving 0-20mph i thought it would stop but it just got worst so on march 10th 2014 i dropped truck off at the dealership for service and tech was able to hear and feel what i felt and they placed a called to nissan which advised them to replace the transmission and that it would take a week. when i went to pick up the truck on friday march 14th 2014 they pulled it into the bay i got in the drivers set started the truck and right away i noticed that the steering wheel did not go down only up and down. i called the service rep over and advised him what was going on and he called his manager over and they both shook their heads and said you are really having a tuff time with these pathfinders and said what do you want to do drive it over the weekend to test out the new transmission or leave it here? so i told him leave it here and that this was crazy he said he agrees and that he would call nissan monday and let them know that now the now the steering wheel has problems. *tr

After only have the car for 3 months, brand new off of the lot, the transmission started to go. then after getting the a brand new transmission, then the exhaust broke??? *tr

Accelerating from stoplight across highway when transmission begins to violently shake the entire vehicle. released accelerator pedal to stop violent shaking. reapplied pressure to accelerator pedal to keep vehicle behind us from smashing our vehicle. this exact same scenario has occurred over and over again in the last 4200 miles. this exact violent shaking (juddering) has also occurred when accelerating onto the highway. nissan corporation is fully aware of this issue and refused to fix my vehicle. the pathfinder transmission has a design defect that is a serious safety issue. *tr

Please note the following: all 2013 2014 nissan pathfinders have a faulty transmission that shudders, vibrates, jerks, shakes.. when you slowly accelerate or when you come off the highway doing cruise control and then go to bumper to bumper traffic. when the car gets to about 8,000 there is no denying the problem. nissan refuses to recall the car. they continue to ask that you bring the car in.. and they don't have the 1st clue on how to fix it.. their answer is to give you another transmission and claim the problem is fixed. i had a 2013 the bought back the car and gave me a 2014 and guess what the car is still a piece of garbage. and now they refuse to acknowledge the defect the 2014 has. stay away!!!!!!! *tr

Since 10/12/13, the vehicle has experienced violent shuddering and loss of power. when the vehicle is brought to the nissan service department it is always unable to duplicate. we continue driving the vehicle and it gets worse. finally after it becomes almost unable to drive nissan admits there is a problem and replaces the cvt. we are now on our third cvt since we purchased the car on 7/22/13. we have to travel a two lane mountain highway and it has happened several times and due to losing power going uphill we have almost been hit on numerous occasions. it has also happened on the freeway. it has happened at a busy intersection and the car completely lost power and the car behind us slammed on their brakes and swerved to avoid hitting us. it has happened at speeds from 30 to 60 mph. i am gravely concerned for my family's safety, we also have a newborn and i am scared to have him in this car but i have no choice. i honestly feel that it is a matter of time before we are hit due to these issues. nissan continues to deny this is a safety concern. *tr

I bought a 2014 nissan pathfinder platinum with 9 miles, i drove it home approx. 50 miles and found i was getting i-key system error. dealer instructed me it was the fob programming error, then they inspected the car and told me a transmission switch was defective which prevented the ecm to recognize the car was in drive mode not in neutral or park. within the next 50 miles the check engine light came on with p0850 error. mechanic fixed the issue after several days, not the passenger side airbag (on/off) indicator is intermittent even when an adult over 140lbs is sitting on the passenger seat. sometimes it is not off as required. i think both issues could pose risks to passengers and may cause accidents. i am not a mechanic so i am not sure if the shifter switch has anything to do with the transmission problems directly or indirectly. *tr

While driving the vehicle, the front passenger "air bag off" light illuminates while an adult is in the passenger seat. the light stays on until the engine was turned off. this happened 4 times and the vehicle has 2000 miles and rarely has a passenger in the front passenger seat. the "air bag off" light illuminates to indicate when the passenger air bag is turned off. if the vehicle was in a crash at this time, the passenger air bag may not deploy. the vehicle was brought to the dealer for repairs, but the dealer could not duplicate the problem. *tr

I noticed a very high pitched whining/whistling noise when i opened the hood of a 2 day old car. the dealer service department said the power steering fluid was low and had it topped off. the noise reduced very slightly but its still there. they said that the noise was made by the electric assist power steering pump and was at normal levels. i have never seen any of my previous vehicles make such a sound. it feels like whatever part making that sound is due for failure. *tr

Purchased 2014 premium platitum nissan pathfinder on 10/9/13. the same evening i noticed the car violently jerking from stop to 35 mph (2000 rpm). i thought it was just a fluke. 4 days later the car did the same thing several times. i immediately took car back to dealership. they claim they could not duplicate issue. 3 days after that, the car violently jerked from stop to 35 mph all morning. i took it back to dealership. they duplicated the issue. said car needs a transmission. i have researched online to determine this is a known issue with nissan. it happens quit frequently with the 2013/2014 cvt transmissions in the pathfinders. check edmunds.com, kbb.com, etc for reviews. the customer reviews all say the same thing. this is a safety hazard because when the car is trying to leave 2nd gear while jerking, it is not picking up speed and can cause someone to run into the back of the car; causing injury or even death. this needs to be looked into immediately and nissan needs to stop production of these transmissions until they can fix the problem. nhtsa please get involved to stop nissan from producing these faulty transmissions and to force them to fix the ones they have sold to innocent purchasers. it's not right that they continue to take innocent people's hard earn money and profit from that, while we are forced to pay to ride in what could be a accident causing vehicle; resulting in injury and/or worse case, death!!! please be proactive. let's save lives before it's too late! *tr

Hi sir/madam, my name is [xxx] i reported to nissan usa corporate office. i got a call from [xxx], nissan corporate office on 24 september. informed him the issue.then called [xxx], customer relations of brown's fairfax nissan office. he asked to open a ticket with nissan customer relations. i opened a ticked on 09/30/2013. the case number - [xxx]. gave the information to [xxx], customer relations in brown's nissan, fairfax, virginia. he said he will follow up and update me. there was no update from him so far. today (10/18/2013), i went to the dealer. showed the door sales manager - [xxx] and workshop - [xxx]. [xxx] fixed the door part and transmission (from drive mode to park mode. it is getting stuck at r in power train), he said there is an issue. he checked with the mechanic in the shop. he has to follow up with nissan and i had informed i had opened consumer ticket. I started seeing the airbag indicator flashing on my dashboard. i took it to nissan car dealer. they told me that there was a water bottle that rolled under the passenger seat and caused the sensor to break. i believe that is a bad design from nissan, that allows a critical sensor to break easily by a soft water bottle that rolled under the seat, cause the airbag not to deploy, which can cause serious injuries to me or a family member sitting in the passenger seat. there is a recall already related to that sensor, that can cause the airbag not to deploy, but i think protecting the sensor under the seat is a very serious issue, that needs to be investigated. i was driving the vehicle for sometime before noticing that there might be an airbag issue.

The sun visor is too big and heavy to stay firm all the way up, only1 inch and half its support all the visor so thats its too small for that heaviest.

The door handle to the passenger side snapped and the door does not open from the inside now.
