2013 JEEP Wrangler

Vehicle started misfiring violently. I took it to my mechanic and they diagnosed as a failed head. They advised going to the dealer to check if it was under warranty. Alldata said that it should be under the extended warranty done for 2011 to 2013 wranglers. Dealer said I fell outside ofnthe extended warranty range and there was nothing I could do about it. Called FCA and got quite the run around. But ended up at the same conclusion that they would do nothing for me.

My 2013 Wrangler Unlimited has recently started to stall while driving. It happens randomly, 4 times in the last 3.5 months – the latest was today and yesterday. It starts again after sitting about 5-10 minutes or disconnecting the battery and seems to drive fine otherwise. No lights go off, it just dies and I loose power steering. This has happened in lower gears as well as higher. The dealership states they have never heard of this problem and advised me that they would not be able to do much since no dash lights go off. I have bought a Code reader and no codes are thrown. It happened while driving on a major highway doing 65-70 MPH while in the middle lane. The car literally just shuts off with no notice. My family could have been killed!

Windshield wipers randomly turned on and would not stop or run on intermittent setting. Even with key out of ignition and vehicle off wipers run continuously. Dealer replaced TIPM to solve problem. Have been reading about Chrysler vihicles with faulty TIPM\'s occurring for years and some have been under recall, but my vehicle year is not part of recall.

My 2013 Jeep Wrangler stalled out at an intersection about 5 months ago. After 10 minutes of sitting there cranking the engine over and over finally it started. I drove it to a dealer who wasn\'t able to replicate the issue and couldn\'t pull up any codes. Today I went to leave and the engine cranked and cranked but wouldn\'t turn over. After about half an hour and my battery almost dying, I disconnected the negative connector to the battery then it fired right up after reconnecting. This is the TIPM issue I\'ve been reading about and I\'m hoping Jeep doesn\'t make 50,000+ owners responsible for the $1300 fix.

Jeep had not been driven for 2 days. Spontaneously combusted in driveway, parked, not running. Fire department had to put it out. Burned our fence. Jeep was totalled. It was minutes from burning our house and maybe the neighbor\'s house down. Jeep was contacted and inspected but have yet to call me back. Hsvr gotten Twitter responses that amount to nothing.

The TIPM is defective in my 2013 Jeep Wrangler. It is causing loss of power at 65 mph. The gauges all drop to 0. All the warning lights light up.The odometer flickers during the power loss. The vehicle has a hesitation between 1500-2000rpm causing a bucking during acceleration.

battery drainage. I have invested in two new batteries. plus portable booster which i travel with at all times

When I am driving my car dies on me and then when I go to start it back up it won\'t start for 15 to 20 mins and when I take it to the shop no one can figure out what\'s wrong with it

Car Stalls after putting in drive or reverse or starting from a stop sign or slowing down to idle. Has done 15 times and dealer has no codes. Flashed the transmission computer. No change. Power windows failed to work one time, a/c blower cuts off sometimes, bluetooth has stopped working with my phone. Suspect TIPM after doing lots of research

DEATH WOBBLE

Jeep randomly stalls and engine dies while driving. Jeep has replaced O2 sensor, PCM and TIPM. Problem is still occurring. Very dangerous to drive not knowing when the engine will die.

My wipers come on intermittently without input. I have brought this to the dealer to be serviced; they could not recreate the problem and did nothing. This appears to be worsening as it is happening more often. wipers are controlled by the TIPM which has reportedly had many issues on chrylser vehicles form 2005-2014. I\'m concerned as this controls a number of features such as airbags and the wiper malfunction indicates to me there are potentially other failures.

2013 Jeep Sahara Unlimited with 58k miles is randomly stalling while driving. No warning, no codes thrown the dealer can find. This has happened 6 times in the last month, with the worst while I was traveling 45 mph. Three times I had to wait 10-15 min before the jeep would restart, other times it starts right back up. No lights, but when the starter is turning over I get the throttle body warning light and the transmission light come on for the 5-10 sec the starter turns over before quitting so starter won\'t burn out. Dealer cannot replicate or find anything wrong, I have recorded video and taken pictures, hoping next time they can. Reading internet, sounds like bad TPIM. Hope I\'m not trying to turn in front of a bus or cross train tracks and it cut off!!!! Def. safety issue.

Jeep has a mind of its own. When applying the blinker the windsheild wipers come on . While driving the air conditioner goes off and on. Seems as if anything electrical just goes in and out sporadically. Whats next…. being stranded at 33000 miles or an air bag to the face while driving. How far does this need to go before somebody has Chrystler fix this issue? Have not had it repaired yet considering the cost that will be involved.

TIPM Failure. Blower for heat/ac stopped working. Known Jeep/Chrysler issue.

I have been told by the Jeep dealership shop that The TIPM needs to be replaced (power fuse box )

Car starts to shake violently around 60 MPH, especially if front tires go over bump or drain in the road. Unable to drive unless slow down significantly – very dangerous on a highway. Started around July of 2014 and has been happening sporadically ever since. Last incident was 9/12/15.

Dealer replaced steering dampener – didn’t do anything. Had tires balanced. Dealer (Jeep service dept) refuses to look at issues because they “can’t duplicate the problem”

My TIPM is faulty, no more motor fan cooling !!
Also, my temperature graduation seems to randomly fail at the point to be at coolest or hottest level!
THIS morning, my first Won’t Start happened!!!! Such as a gas pump power failure, at second try it started.

What’s next !!??

Car and steering shake violently at any speed when road irregularities are encountered. This has resulted in loss of control and poses a threat to safety and may cause injury or death. Other Jeep owners have named this issue the “Death Wobble”.

WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING IN SNOWY ICEY CONDITIONS ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. PULLED OVER PLACED JEEP IN PARK. CLEARED ANY SNOW FROM WINDOW AND COULD NOT GET JEEP INTO DRIVE. LIGHTS, DOORS, BACK WIPER ENGINE ALL WORKING. COULD NOT GET CAR INTO DRIVE AND ENGINE LIGHT INDICATOR WAS ON. WAS ABLE TO OVERRIDE SHIFT RELEASE AND DROVE TO MANDFREDI JEEP DEALERSHIP ON STATEN ISLAND NY. TIPM FAILURE.

This is our third attempt to resolve and correct the problem we have with the jeep we purchased through your dealership a year and a half ago.
The problem has existed since we purchased the jeep brand-new. For some reason when the weather gets cold the jeep begins to have problems accelerating to the point it almost stalls. Two weeks ago it happened again while I was was on the freeway driving at 65 miles per hour and the car stalled. Clearly this type of issue creates a hazard of which could be fatal. I’m sure you can agree the issue needs to be resolved so no one gets hurt.

In our first visit explaining the problem the jeep dealership decided to replace some oil components which they thought might be the issue. It never fixed the problem and so we took it to the Jeep Corte Madera dealership who couldn’t figure out the issue either. At this point the vehicle is unsafe to drive and needs to be fixed.

When the vehicle gets cold and we try to accelerate it begins to stall. The check engine light goes on at the same time as a result of the engine almost stalling. It happened on our way over to the dealership.

Wrangler Unlimited Sahara: took to dealer for severe shaking in front end, paid for alignment and wheel balance, didn’t cure. dealer adjusted steering shock, didn’t cure. Dealer replaced control arm, didn’t fix. dealer readjusted tow in and told me I need new tires. Sure the tires wont get me thru winter, but have good amount of tread left.
This vehicle has a problem that I fear if it happened on snow or Ice could result in sever injury.
I need a fix. not a tire purchase.

Wrangler Sport: The engine would crank on this brand new Jeep, however, it would not fire. As such, I was stranded out in below 0 degrees weather with a car that would not start. I had to have the Jeep towed to the dealership. I read on several Jeep forums that this same thing has happened to several other people. Just like the other people once the vehicle is towed to the dealership on a flat bed, it starts on the first try for the dealership. Once the vehicle is towed up onto a flat bed at the 30-45 degree angle, whatever was preventing the firing must either open or close and allow the vehicle to start. This appears to be a recurring problem from looking on the Jeep forums. This may result in a very dangerous situation particularly since these are off road vehicles. There is a very good possibility the owner/driver could be stranded and left in a dangerous situation.

The dealership indicated that since it starts for them there is nothing for them to go on and as such are returning the vehicle.

Driver heated seat module overheats at times causing a burning smell if in use.

My jeep started smoking smelt a badd oil burning smell and almost caught on fire when i finally got stopped looked under the hood and i could see oil floating on top of the engine everywhere and going all down the back of the transmission looks like a part or something may have a crack in it can't really tell oil is all over the under carriage all the way to the rear end has got all over the brakes had troubles and issues with its slowing down without it smelling like an oil fire and smoke pouring out of the brake assembly

Driving approx 65 mph on highway. rpm jumped then car lost power. would not shift past neutral and unable to remove key. auto door unlock failed. vehicle was evacuated and then struck from behind at high speed.

I was leaving a grocery store and as i was turning onto the busy main road my jeep wrangler sahara unlimited stalled with no warning no lights it just died it would not start at all. after 20 minutes it then started. it was very dangerous because the person behind me could have hit me if there wasn't any other traffic. this has happened before at traffic lights where it would stall out of no where but then i could turn the key and it would start. i am terrified to get on the highway afraid it will do that again and harm me or others on the road.

My new to me, but still under factory warranty, jeep wrangler sahara 2dr, caught fire and burned the day i got it. it had been driven 250kms from the jeep dealer to me, then parked until the evening. i took it for a drive for about 40km without incident, parked, and had dinner with a friend. after dinner, i used the remote start to test it, unlocked it, and got in and drove off. i stopped at a store a minute up the road, left it idling, and came out to find my check engine light flashing. i cycled the ignition, and the light went out. i proceeded towards home, but two minutes later the light came back on, followed by a very loud bang, then then the smoke from the hood. i was travelling at about 10km/hr in a neighbouthood having just turned from a stop. my vehicle came to a stop, my passenger and i jumped out, called 911, and watched as a fire coming from what appeared to be the passenger side, with something dripping and burning as well, consumed the front of the jeep. i notified the dealership and jeep canada but have yet to receive responses. insurance deemed it a total loss. i'd owned the vehicle for 8 hours. it had 50,000kms on the odometer, and one outstanding recall (14v-631) that wasn't done prior to delivery to me.

When routine maintenance was being performed at the dealer the transmission case broke around a portion of the case where one of the transmission oil pan bolted on. one of the mechanics commented that this portion of the transmission case appeared thin. the transmission case was sent back to the factory by the dealer. i believe this failure of the metal of the transmission case is dangerous due to this being a "trail rated" vehicle and being intended for exposure to off road conditions and this part failure being especially dangerous under these conditions and, of course, if it were to fail in regular driving. it is my belief that if this failure were to occur while driving the vehicle could loose power and thus loose control and under off road conditions could create a very precarious and especially dangerous condition. *tr

Bought it with 36,800 miles on it. vehicle started to stall/die after start and engaging drive or reverse. also can do it coming to a stop and starting from a red light. has happened 20 times since i have owned it. happened once on the freeway in rush hour traffic. once you restart the transmission takes up to 10 seconds to shift in the selected gear. also, windows failed to operate on one occasion, had to stop turn off engine and restart to get to work. a/c blower turns off intermittently. blue tooth has stopped working with phone. i cannot hear the people anymore through the stereo.

I was in motion driving my jeep rubicon off road in 4wd high and was heading down a steep slop and while shifting my 6 speed manual transmission from 3rd to 2nd the gear shift arm pulled of its mount. due to the shift arm assembly coming off, i missed 2nd gear and ended up stuck in neutral. before i realized exactly what happened i had traveled about 20 yards freewheeling. due to the speed increase i had to apply my brakes which then caused the jeep to slide sideways. i was able to gain control and ride the brakes down to the bottom of the slope where i investigated what happened and then had to make temporary repairs as i was stuck in a ravine with no easy way out. after a couple of hours attempting to get the shift assembly reinstalled i was able to drive out of the ravine and back to camp to improve the temp repair. i did not drive the jeep again that weekend until i was ready to head home. i drove it the 280 miles home with the temporary repair in place. *tr

Vehicle stalls at random times but most often when putting into reverse after sitting for a while. it has stalled while driving on major roads which could have been life threatening. the transmission also shifts very jerky at times for no real reason. the windshield wipers will come on randomly and usually seem tied to turn on the turn signals which happen to be on the other control knob. lights will dim on nav/radio when windshield wipers are turned on. i would say there is an obvious electrical/computer issue that must be causing these things to happen. i have read hundreds of similar complaints. *tr

Driving at 45 mph today on route 6 in swansea ma and the entire front end of my jeep starts shaking to the point where i can't control it. i tried to slow down but the more i did the more the front end shook back and forth from side to side. i was able to pull off into a parking lot. i checked under the jeep and there was no damage, the tire treads are not worn. the inflation of the tires is fine. i just hit 33,000, the truck was just introspected and had an alignment in september. death rumble as i ave read is common but there is no recall on this vehicle per your database. the truck is not safe to drive and due to the years is no longer under warranty. recommending a recall based on the 1000s of reports of this online. chrysler needs to make a change to make my vehicle safer. *tr

I own a 2013 jeep wrangler, i take my jeep off-road every weekend. living in las vegas, nv, i can keep the top off 10 months out of the year. living in the desert, it's also very dusty here. in may of 2016, i was on an off-roading trip, when the airbag light came on. i took it to the dealer, and they told me it was the clockspring. they quoted me $700.00 to fix it...i didn't have the money, so i paid them the $150.00 diagnostic fee... two days later, the first recall for clockspring came out. i called the dealer back, they looked up my vin #, and said my vehicle was not included in the recall. since then several more recalls have been issued, but my vehicle is still not listed. i did research on clocksprings, and found out the reason they go out is due to dust, frequent off-road, and removing the top. all of which describes my jeep. in addition to the airbag not deploying, the clockspring effects the horn, as well as other controls on the steering wheel. i have written several emails to jeep, chrysler, and mopar. i have discussed this issue on several jeep forums sites, asking for help. if the recall covers only some 2013 models, but my model matches the circumstances surrounding the recall issue, then i believe mine should be included in the recall.

The vehicle has stopped blowing hot air on the drivers side and feet, but will blow hot air on passengers side. this leads to issues with defrosting and visibility.

Vehicle first started having issues moving into drive or reverse a couple of times. vehicle then started stalling at traffic lights. vehicle always starts back up, but sometimes does not change into drive immediately. restarting/shifting into manual mode works. vehicle finally started losing power intermittently while driving/accelerating causing it to jerk significantly while driving. it mostly happens at lower gears while accelerating from stop.

Jeep keeps shutting off while driving. recently replaced the cpm and tipm. issue still happening. local dealership will not assist unless it throws a code...

Antilock brake system: abs system locks wheels and releases them every time i try to make a turn while in motion.

Purchased jeep wrangler in 2013. soon afterwards had moisture problems dealership where purchased took jeep in several times and i have never taken top off but i did take t top off twice, but the amount of moisture is overwhelming that less then a year i have mold, mildew and puddles of water that the dealership used a substance to cover floor on passenger side. once i noticed dealership stops returning calls and refuses service. i soon develop electrical problems and dashboard blinking of signals i.e. seat belt signal prompt won't stop blinking and making ding ding noise. on 20 april dealership in olympia washington refuses service to check now electrical problems. impossible to get an appointment mileage on jeep is 8000 or less miles in 4 years due to problems or in shop.

The vehicle has stopped blowing hot air on the drivers side and feet but will blow hot air on passengers side. this leads to issues with defrosting and visibility as well as the driver being safe and able to feel their fingers and feet while driving. i took it to the dealer who says there is a star report on this issue and it is a well known issue. jeep however says i am out of warranty so they will not fix it. my extended warranty bought through the dealership says they will not fix it. the radiator, heater core over flow tank and all other related components are the recommended repair.

There is a loud squeal from inside the vehicle while braking, especially in colder conditions or when braking harder. it happens at slow or high speeds.

Oil cooler / filter housing leak - oil collects at base of cooler housing. happened at 25k miles and continues.

Oil pressure

Clock spring failure. when stationary the instrument cluster is showing an airbag alert and all control buttons in the steering wheel except cruse control have failed. when the left spoke of the steering wheel is rotated counter clockwise to the 2 o'clock position the airbag alert turns off and all buttons work but only in that position. no difference when in motion except a ding when the steering wheel is turned past a certain position.

The wipers come on intermittently with no input. dealer would not fix because they could not recreate the issue. i believe this to be a problem with the tipm which controls many functions, including the airbag deployment. i'm concerned this malfunction is pointing to a larger underlying problem.

Headlight harnesses go bad. lights flicker, don't turn on without messing with harnesses or take a few seconds to minutes to turn on or change to high beams. thus is while stationary or while in motion. hitting bumps in the road also affect the lights flickering or turning off or on.

On my 2013 jeep wrangler sahara unlimited (lhd), the airbag light is on and chimes every few minutes. the airbag light comes on after i start the engine. the light stays on and dashboard chimes while driving. this indicates that something is wrong with the airbag system. mechanics have told me this is a faulty "clockspring". this raises concerns that my airbag will not deploy during an accident or will deploy prematurely. daimler chrysler has refused to replace this part under the current recall. when calling chrysler, i was told the current recall is for 2007 and up right hand drive models only even though they use the same part number. i had a 2007 wrangler (lhd) years ago that was included in a recall for the clockspring. the recall work was completed on my previous 2007 wrangler for the same part number. i would like an answer as to why my 2013 jeep wrangler (lhd) is not included in the recall if the same part number is the problem. it is my understanding that the repair will cost $520 which i do not believe i should pay if other jeep wranglers are having this job completed for free. if my safety is not a concern, please consider the safety of my wife and daughters, and move to include all jeep wrangler models with clockspring part number 68339336aa.

Airbag light displayed and will not turn off, along with intermittent chime. failure occurred on 7/15/2016 at about 37400 miles. jeep dealer service dept (autonation chrysler jeep arapahoe, centennial, co) confirmed that the clockspring had failed. not repaired due to part unavailability. vehicle is a 2013 jeep wrangler rubicon.

Tl* the contact owned a 2013 jeep wrangler. the contact stated that the vent controls failed to work for the heat and air conditioner intermittently. in addition, there may have been toxic fumes emitting through the vents when the heat or air conditioner were activated, which affected a child passenger's breathing. the vehicle was taken to the dealer more than three times, but they were unable to replicate and diagnose the failure. in addition, the contact was not experiencing any engine failures before the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a manufacturer recall where the dealer replaced the engine sensors and the transmission. the service engine light illuminated after the repair. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer who provided no solution after the recall repair. the contact noticed that shortly after leaving the dealer, smoke emitted into the vehicle and flames appeared under the hood. the contact was able to exit the vehicle and the fire department extinguished the flames. a report was not filed. the vehicle was destroyed and was towed to the contacts residence. the manufacturer was notified and stated that they would provide an investigation. the contact was still waiting on a response from the manufacturer. the failure mileage was not available.

2 issues with my 13 wrangler unlimited 1st ... engine temp gets up to about 80 percent of the guage. i have had it in 3 times they replaced the water pump twice and still same issues. they have replace thermostat coolant flush ect. the dealer connot find out whats wrong. i have resorted to adding a secondary coolant fan and it helps a bit but its still a problem ive had since a year fater buying it. 2nd ... the transmission(automatic) when going up any kind of incline it does not want to shift untill about 6k rpms. i have had it in for this also and dealer claims nothing they can find.

60411 miles. when doors are opened, unlocked with key fob, or the hood or back hatch is opened, the horn will sound continuously for 30 seconds. however, horn is non-operational when depressing horn button. vehicle was stationary when this first occurred. vehicle has not been wet inside since i have owned it (1 year and 40000 miles).

2013 jeep wrangler unlimited rubicon 4x4 vehicle stalls while driving and then will not start again for 4-5 minutes. this happens at all speeds and has put us in some very unsafe situations. dealer has not been able to find a solution and cannot recreate the problem even though it happens to us multiple times per week. yesterday it took me 20 minutes to drive 4 miles because it stalled three times. i see blogs with many other complaints about the same issue but still no recall. the dealers do not know how or do not want to fix and meanwhile consumers are stuck with unreliable, unsafe vehicles.

Tipm issue, jeep will not start, all instruments light are on and speedometer doesn't work. the jeep sputters and it very dangerous at high speeds.

Tipm is bad. door don't open or lock at times. sometimes when jeep is turned off the jeep radio will not turn off. airbag light comes in at times

I have 2013 jeep wrangle unlimited. i bought this in 2013 for my wife. the jeep had about 11,000 miles on it when we bought. the death wobble started occurring about 6-month into ownership. i aligned, balanced and replaced two tires. now, the death wobble is an everyday occurrence. at 55 miles per hour, the wobble occurs.

Takata recall. vehicle does not stay dry. top has never been removed, t-top removed once, leaks, moisture condensation problem where a green house effect occurs regularly, mold grows quite rapidly jeep has been in shop every winter season with moisture problems. given back with assurance of not reoccurring. every winter i return with same proble now dealership is refusing to help and has directed me to go elsewhere with a voicemail message on 8 february i am under the understanding any warranty work must be done at same garage why? am i being told they can not fix vehicle or help me? i am having electrical problems now too and i can't make an appointment because of persisting to hang up or refusing to direct me to management p 8 febuary i filed an attorney general complaint but they don't represent unless several have complained about the same issue. failed to recognize the lemon law and are hostile to deal with. electrical problem is driver seat belt signal does not turn off even though seat belt is fastened. while driving. due to the amount of time addressing the warranty problem with dealership and an avoidance to replace i filed a safety complaint in 2014 since then nothing but continued problems and jeep remains unfixed on the last visit an extra substance was put on floorboard on passenger side to indicate a hole had been fixed with putting a permanent compound called rhino plaster. when confronted i was told it came from the factory like that after researching i was informed it does in fact not. i filed an attorney generals complaint on 8 febuary 2017 and since december 2016 am not able to get to shop due to delays from dealership. i was put in contact with mr. brown extension 2302 to explain hardships and in december 2016 not to mention not restoring my vehicle to factory specifications and putting a substance on my vehicle without permission. Washer fluid and door locks stopped working. dealer says the timp needs to be replaced

My check engine light illuminated and the engine was running rough, possible loss of power. per jeep / chrysler / dodge / ram / mopar technical service bulletin 18-034-14 rev. a and tsb-18-034-14 on some model vehicles and jeeps, (my 2013-2014) the malfunction indicator lamp (mil) illuminates and diagnostic trouble code (dtc) p0520 is set regarding engine oil pressure sensor circuit. the tsb outlines replacing the oil pressure sensor with a "revised" part. chrysler installed defective sensors on many 2013-2014 3.6l engines and will only replace them if they fail while under warranty. if the oil pressure sensor is malfunctioning, it may not alert you to an issue with oil pressure. this can cause engine failure and potential to cause an accident due to engine failure / loss of power.

Heater does no blow hot air on drivers sides vents. as a result, this caused a frosted blind spot on the driver's side of window and door glass. pp

Brought 2013 wrangler to dealer for constant p0304 code after replacing ignition coils and spark plugs. dealer did a compression leak test to verify that the 4th cylinder head was bad and need replacing and will cost $3700.00 for the repair. i had asked about the service bulletin 09-002-14 and my vehicle is not covered under the x56 code extended warranty for the cylinder head. i called chrysler/jeep as recommended by the dealer, and they told me to call the dmv.

When the jeep is put into reverse first thing after sitting for a while the vehicle stalls when the brake pedal is applied. if the break pedal is slowly released, the jeep will stutter and almost stall but stays running.

Engine oil cooler has failed 2 times once at around 70k miles and again at 90k miles. oil leaks on top of engine block and runs down the back to the transmission on to the exhaust and could easily cause a fire. fiat does not care when i reported it and it is a very common problem with the engine in multiple vehicles. dealer wanted $3,000 to replace it when the problem was 12 dollar o rings on the adapter. the plastic housing that sits on top of a hot engine flexes and allows the o rings to leak. there has to be a way to replace that part with something safer but they wont cause it would cost them to much money and good luck proving what happened to start the fire when the plastic housing just burns away in a fire or your engine blows to low oil.

I was in motion on highway at 60mph dash lights and radio went off, the engine went off for about 3 seconds then everything came back to normal. this occurred 3 times in the next 10 minutes. each occurance was the same. ran fine after that for 30 mins. has not reoccured. total shut down is dangerous. i have heard reports of this happening to many jeeps.

Nov 3, 2016...i arrived home, backed my 2013 jeep wrangler 4dr moab edition into her garage bay and left the bay door open since it was sunny out and went up to the house to prepare dinner. 20 mins after coming home, we heard a boom, looked out to see black smoke pouring out the open garage door for our jeep. my husband ran down, used a fire extinguisher on the fire and then the water hose, then pushed the vehicle outside the garage and hosed it off more before the fire dept arrived. investigation determined that the front wiring harness for the headlights, fog lights, trail lights and winch is where the fire started. the explosion we heard was a small canister by the radiator for the ac.

Check engine light goes on and off. default code shows problem with oil pressure sensor. but check engine goes off when vehicle is at 3/4 fuel tank, then goes back on when at 1/4 fuel. the oil pressure sensor problem appears common to these vehicles. there are lots of people noting the same problem and explanation is that jeep knows there were faulty oil pressure sensors installed over many vehicle models and years. the repair is roughly $400 - $500 as the head needs to be pulled to replace the sensor. however, many still report the check engine problem after the repair is made. unknown as to extent of damage the engine may experience due to this problem.

Contacted chrysler concerning my 2013 jeep wrangler clock spring assembly "air bag harness" that was giving red light on dash. they have stated that my vin number was not part of recall. my jeeps mfr date falls within the specifics of the recall on this part. it has been diagnosed by the chrysler dealership that in fact that was the issue and they will not fix this problem. when vehicle wa purchased and taken back to chrysler within 30 days dealership wanted to charge 700 dollars to repair. someone please help me hold chrysler accountable to fix this safety problem. *tr

Noisy loud defrost fan motor not maintaining speed, may come and go producing a no defrost condition and hampering ability to see. may come and go, a high pitch sqeek or clicking can be heard from the fan bearings.

Caught fire for no known reason- while i was driving - came to stop and smoke passed me up - wind coming from behind me -stopped - saw smoke coming out of left side of hood -totally burned-*dt*jb thankfully i was able to get out without harm - yet i am left with no vehicle

Airbag lights remain on, cruise control does not work, all controls on the steering wheel do not work. does not work when driving or setting. i purchased the vehicle with this problem and was told it was a fuse. i found out it is the clock spring.

At low speeds, usually while braking, the jeep will lurch forward/accelerate.

All four brake rotors seized up. traveling from work on secondary roads at speeds between 30 and 45 mph. i was smelling hot brakes. when trying to stop the jeep pulled hard to the right, almost uncontrollably. when i got home i touched the wheels and all were super hot to the touch. had the vehicle brought in for repair. service reported all four calipers show signs of being seized up. pads and rotors show damage from overheating. needed to replace all four rotors, calipers and pads.

The heat stopped working, even after a 45 minute commute , no heat. this created difficulties in seeing out the windshield on cold mornings. the dealer did a flush of the system but the heat was only temporarily fixed, less a week. returned to dealer, replaced the heater core which has returned the heat to the jeep.

Jeep has developed a ticking noise that has become louder and louder, noise is present whether vehicle is stationary or in movement and increases with the speed of the vehicle. mechanic advised that it is faulty rockers and that they need to be replaced. he also acknowledged this is an extremely common problem with all penstar 3.6l in all chrysler products.

My 2013 jeep wrangler started having a code that read "misfire on cylinder 6" at about 55,000 miles. after changing the spark plugs and ignition coils on the drivers side bank of cylinders (2,4,and 6) the trouble code still continued to pop up about every week or two. i then took it to my local jeep, chrysler, ram dealer to investigate further. after doing some research i found out that the cylinder heads on the pentastar engine in the 2012 and 2013 jeep wranglers were have many, many issues with the bad cylinder heads because of there was two different metals used between the engine block and the cylinder head causing it to warp and cause compression issues in the cylinder. jeep was well aware of this problem but refused to this day to issue a recall. after the dealer took the engine apart to investigate, he admitted to the fact that it was a bad cylinder head. this misfire on cylinder 6 occurred mostly when idling at a traffic light or at very low speeds. the kicker in all of this even though jeep admitted a faulty cylinder head was the cause of the loss of compression, they refused to replace the cylinder head at their cost. because jeep did not have my vin number in their list to be repaired, it was up to me to pick up the cost. i did nothing in the time that i have had this vehicle (original owner) to make a cylinder head become warped. this was a problem with the pentastar engine from the beginning. too bad jeep doesn't do the right thing and repair these pentastar engine issues at their expense rather than heaping more responsibility on the consumer. *tr

I was driving on city street driving 25 mph , when my jeep wrangler ceased immediately. differential leaked fluid. i have also noticed the rear brake passenger side leak which i believe connects to differential. i brought it to a technician attention when i took my car to a recall and mentioned its not a problem. i had my children in my car. could have caused a fatal accident. lucky i was not on a highly driving 70 mph

My jeep shuts off while driving on city roads and going up hills with other vehicles present, no codes show up, dash lights turn red when vehicle is off, my jeep makes funny noises when turned off, take it to the dealership over 3 months since i bought it 3 months ago and they can’t fix it. they don’t know what is wrong with it. they’ve tired everything and still nothing. it’s going back in again because it shut off on me going up a hill. this jeep is now becoming dangerous to myself. yet the jeep still isn’t giving codes. i had to go buy a car scan device plug it in and record data of what is going on with the jeep so that the dealership can see. do i have to go off a cliff or get into a really bad accident before this problem is found or fixed. i’ve only had this vehicle for 3 months. i bought it on february 21,2020 and it started acting up on february 28,2020 and still is on may 16, 2020 and it is becoming a nightmare. i’m spending money to get it fixed because the dealership is charging me because my extended warranty doesn’t cover it. i was told when i bought it that there was nothing wrong with it but that was a lie. i need help figure this out. the dealership didn’t make sure that this vehicle was safely operational before selling it. it over heated because they didn’t check fluid. my heated seats were burnt out. my dash lights flicker on and off. they replaced something behind my dash but it didn’t fix the issue. i think it made it worse. as of right now my jeep shuts up at least once a week which puts me in a dangerous position because i get stuck either on the side of the road sitting sideways or almost off of a cliff or in the middle of the road with nowhere to go because i have no power steering the jeep does it start back up for anywhere between 5 to 15 minutes.

The jeep was stopped and turned off for over 2 hours. the plug on the electronic sway bar started smoking and then caught fire. luckily i wasn't too far away and was able to stop the fire from spreading

Clockspring failed causing horn to not operate, abs and traction control to not operate. other issues that are non safety related to this is cruise control, radio controls (steering wheel) and the dash data (the menu to scroll through from the dash for dte, us/metric etc). all these are effected while vehicle is both in motion and stationary.

My horn and buttons on the front and back of my steering wheel have been out for almost a year now because i need my clock spring changed. but courtesy of breaux bridge will not change it under the recall bc i am not the original owner and/or my air bag light is not on or i do not have " enough warning signs" per recall. even though the recall is good for 1million miles. they would rather me pay $650. i even called chrysler. *tr

When vehicle hits a bump, it vibrates so driver is unable to control vehicle until it is brought to a complete stop. investigation online points to "death wobble" as described by other jeep owners. happens on both city streets and highway. took to local jeep dealership, replaced ball joints, happened again a week later. called dealership again, they don't seem to have an answer for us. literally afraid to drive vehicle without a definite fix or answer.

Vehicle has just over 65k miles on it and has been maintained properly with regular oil changes. ticking noise on the passenger side of the engine. turned out the lifters and cam shaft had failed. replaced by dealer at a total cost of just over $2400. based on numerous jeep forum visits and research, this is a part defect in the cam lifter and is epidemic. fca is requiring owners to pay for their poor quality parts being installed in their 3.6l pentastar engines. have fca issue a recall and reimburse those that have been charged to replace their faulty parts.

I went to have the oil changed and the technician found tsb 09-009-18 pressure relief valve had broken and all of the pieces were missing but two small plastic parts. they showed me the tsb and i was unable to drive the jeep until the oil filer adapter was replaced or the plastic parts could possibly migrate and blow up my engine.

The oil filter housing/cooling assembly is plastic, cheap, and located right in the middle of the engine. mine, along with many other jeeps of this make and model have them fail well under 30,000 miles. this causes massive engine oil loss which in turn causes engine damage. this is a huge rip off considering the part costs ~$500. chrysler should fix this immediately on all jeeps.

While driving on a cold night with no other drivers on the road, my windshield suddenly cracked. i had the defroster on. i've read about hundreds of other people who have had this issue with their jeeps. it's an issue and they don't want to take responsibility for it.

The gas cap needs to be recalled. the dealer has replaced it several times and the light still comes on. the seat belt is a recall, but yet they have no parts to fix it. rhd jeep's only.

Failure of oil cooler housing, noticed oil burning smell looked under the jeep and saw oil everywhere

Heater core clogged. heater blows warm on passenger side, working across dash heat hets colder as it comes across to drivers side, driver side blows extremely cold. defrost blows cold. from what i've read in jeep forums thousands of jeep owners are having this same issue. heater core is getting clogged and affecting the heat output of jeep. our jeep has roughly 112000 miles on and we have been having this problem since the jeep has had around 50000 miles. jeep would not cover under warranty because we were over 36000 miles. i have blew out heater core flushing it. that helps alittle bit but heat is still no were as hot as it should be. replacing heater core involves pulling entire dash out or cutting dash supports to remove heater core to replace just to have new heater core clog again. something in system is causing heater cores in these jeeps to clogg ultimately causing heat and defrost not to work and blow cold air.

Changed spark plugs on jeep, when done turned it on. vehicle stayed running for 5 secs and shut off. did that 3 times, then never turned back on. lights, locks, and alarm worked fine. vehicle would not start at all. put in a new battery and wouldn't turn on. left sitting for a day. checked it again the next day, battery was hot and cables were melting on it. towed it to the repair shop. said it was tipm . ordered a new one. and jeep still will not turn on. jeep has been at a repair shop for 3 months with no solutions yet. bill is racking up just trying to get it running.repair shop has checked everything and still having problems with tipm.

The hard top leaks when it rains!! seem there is a engineering problem with the panels and or seals. spent extra money for the hard top thinking it was better that the canvass top, really disappointed to have a brand new vehicle that leaks water into the interior. can’t be good for the electronics and overall integrity of the interior of this vehicle!!

As i research what is wrong with my jeep it has been a happening for quite a bit of people. nobody has been able to find a solution for this issue, what has been happening is when driving my 2013 jeep wrangler at all my check engine light comes on and i instantly lose power plus my abs and traction control lights turn on and i end up going into limp mode. it mostly happening on the freeway and going up hills, but has also been happening even when it is in park. my jeep has been in the shop with a trusted mechanic for 3 months and he has not been able to find the issue either. all of the research i have done tons of people has been having this issue but seems as though no one can find the cause of the problem either... i’m unsure of what to do now.

After turning off the vehicle and parking in a garage for 10 minutes the tipm started smoking, wipers and lights went on and horn started blowing and caught fire. this occured approximately 5 pm.

The 3.6 engine has developed a tick from inad rocker arms. the arms are known to be faulty and many vehicles have stalled at high speeds due to the issue. this is a huge safety issue that needs to be recalled

Reoccurring clogging of the engine coolant system, causing very low heat available for defrosting of the windshield in below freezing temperatures. i have found that this is a very common problem on this model of jeep wrangler. effect is at its worst during city driving

My 2013 jeep wrangler engine shuts down very intermittently when driving at interstate speeds and city speeds, it has happened many times, leaving me with no power steering or power brakes, i find this a safty hazzard... it's been to the dealership four times without anything resolved.

The clockspring was replaced today in my 2013 jeep wrangler. recall ended in year 2010

The vehicle keeps losing power at the most inopportune times (passing a vehicle; in a construction zone with no shoulder; on a highway). i have almost gotten into 4 accidents b/c of this problem. whenever the vehicle goes faster than 70 mph...power is lost. it continually throws off a code of 0369. the dealership has replaced the following to try to fix the problem: replaced abs system; replaced stability control system; replaced oil filter housing; replaced the cam twice; swapped the cam; replaced the cam phaser; replaced all 4 cam phasers; re-flashed the pcm; replaced the pcm. today it goes in to the dealership for the 10th time to try to get it fixed. it is a death trap to all that share the road with it, not to mention extremely unreliable. it has never been off-roaded and is well maintained.

The tips module failed have only one headlight been stopped by policemen for unsafe vehicle. must be replaced cost for part is 1;400.00 dollars not including labor.have been told by dealer that this is common failure part many people complained that the have to pay for a part that controls all the electrical for the vehicle. this is a safety issue. jeep should recall this for repairs. very sad people have to pay for this jeep should be held accountable. thank you.

Leaking oil cooler / filer housing.

The airbag clock spring is not working. i’ve had nothing but problems with this jeep. it’s becoming too expensive to keep up with all the problems plus an expensive car note. this has been the most expensive car i had and had given me more repair problems then any other vehicle.

My jeep has been to four different dealers and i am still having the same issues with it as i did when i bought it one year ago. the engine light comes on and power is lost when this happens. the vehicle is usually in motion when this happens.

Driving down the interstate my hood shakes and flutters. looks like it is about to fly open. scared to drive past trucks (semis) because of damage it may cause

In order for emergency brake to actually work it has to be pulled upwards with greater force than should be reasonably expected. this presents the likelihood of the vehicle rolling when parked on an incline, particularly for those with standard transmissions.

The hood latches do not prevent the hood from fluttering at highway speeds. it appears as though the hood latches may fail at any moment.

Re:recall#v01...received urgent noticication from fca regarding air bag explosion containing "shrapnel" (their words), which can kill or seriously injure occupants. notice stated "parts are available." notified by dealer 7/19 that there are no parts - minimum 4 month wait. 4 months!!!! well??????

The hood would flutter at speeds of 70 mph or more, normally on interstate driving. seemed worse when high winds (weather) were present. when my hood was damaged by hail in may 2018, i changed the original hood latches also to an aftermarket product that no longer allows the hood to flutter at these speeds. i am the original owner of this vehicle. this happened from the time i purchased the vehicle (01/2014) until latches were changed to aftermarket product (05/2018).

While driving at highway speeds, ranging from 50-65 mph, if i take a turn that has a bump or am on a straightaway and hit a bump the entire car starts to violently shake, the steering wheel jerks left and right and it feel like the front tires are fishtailing. the only way to stop this violent oscillation is to slow the car down to under 45 mph which can be extremely difficult to do on the highway. i have talked with a couple of mechanics and a jeep dealership and no one seems to know what could be causing the "death wobble". this happens randomly and without warning so i do not recall when it last happened. therefore, i am choosing today's date in order to complete the form. i am also unsure of the exact mileage on my car when this happened since it has happened multiple times since i bought the car in 2013. i entered the approximate number of miles on the car when i remember the death wobble first occurring.

I was driving with my children in the jeep to a dental appointment driving 45 miles per hour. i hear a cling clunk sound and abs light comes on and then a loud bang and jeep does not want to go. i pulled over right away i smell a awful smell. so i shut my truck off. called my husband and leave my truck and get a ride to dental appointment. we called a tow truck next day to have it towed to auto repair shop. i get a call two days later stating my emergency break system had faulted and engaged it’s self snapping my axel, speed sensor and break rotor. all of these things were ripped and everything will need to be replaced due to emergency break system failure. if i had been going on the high way at high way speeds i could have flipped my vehicle with me and my children. this issue needs to be replaced by the manufacturer do to it being faulty emergency brake system.

After sitting idle all night, started vehicle in morning and abs and esc lights came on. i was unable to accelerate as the rear brakes were being engaged by a faulty sensor. i shifted into neutral and back to drive and lights went out and back to normal operation. i pulled out onto the main thoroughfare and the jeep stuttered upon acceleration and felt like it was losing power before it stopped. both lights came back on. after shifting back to neutral, i was able to get back onto the street and to the dealer for service. this is the second time this condition occurred in this vehicle. in july of 2016 the right rear wheel speed sensor was replaced by fitzgerald jeep in clearwater. codes c1035 and c1049 were present at the time of the repair. this faulty sensor could have caused an accident with injuries, at best, or a fatality/fatalities at worst. the computer program that allows a faulty sensor to override the drivers action is a malfunction that needs to be addressed.

While driving with cruise control engaged on the highway at roughly 80mph, the cruise control kicks off. check engine light displays and the esc light comes on. vehicle loses power and decelerates on its own. have to floor the gas pedal to keep the vehicle moving. experiences momentary bursts of speed but then speed declines again although the gas pedal is still pressed to the floor. i believe this is attributed to the clockspring assembly but my vehicle was not included in the recall. can my vin be added so i can get this issue resolved?

Engine began making ticking noise from engine bay at about 77,000 miles. jeep has been serviced as required with quality synthetic oil and filters since new. done more often than jeep requires. took to dealer who agreed it was making noise and needed fixed. when valve covers were removed they found rocker arms bad on 2 cylinders and tappets collapsed on 3 cylinders. service manager said this was a common problem that chrysler knows about. they have a star case bulletin, # s1309000016 published about this. said they are doing several of the pentastar v6 engines a month. this is a engine that is used in mini vans, chargers, challengers, 200's and 300's, maybe others. happening in all of these vehicles. this is a known problem and chrysler should have a recall for this. rocker arm bearings not hardened correctly is what they told me. being out of warranty, i had to pay out of pocket to fix this.

My check engine light came on and i took it to my mechanic who said it seemed to just be a sensor. then i went to start it one night after work and it wouldn't start. so i had to call aaa and they said maybe battery. so replace battery and now again, check engine light and it struggles to start and jerks while driving. my check engine light is on again.

Clockspring recall: other year models of the same generation wrangler show a clockspring recall, but my year model doesn’t. my clockspring has failed now and i lost most of the steering wheel controls, including my safety horn, and if my research is correct, my driver side air bag will not deploy now if in a collision accident. when turning my windshield wipers would turn on randomly, and then when driving shortly afterwards i went to honk at animals in the road and the horn did not work. the next day i noticed that the radio and driver information center controls on the steering wheel did not work either.

Starting issues: the ignition will not start the engine, no lights come on, the battery is connected fine and i had it checked (good). this has happened four times since april, and today is the most recent. my jeep has been parked in my garage since thursday evening and it would not start today (6/30/19).

Takara recall. my vehicle was parked at 16 w lancaster ave shillington pa 19607. i had it parked in the back parking lot. the owner of the store called me to inform me that my driver's side airbag deployed. he heard it from inside the store and went outside immediately to investigate. he didnt see anyone leave the parking lot and there was no damage to my vehicle. it was raining very hard that day but i feel that shouldnt have caused my airbag to deploy. when the incident happened i called the fca recall number at 1-833-585-0144 and explained the situation. they had an inspector call me back and i dropped my car off at savage 61 in reading pa to have him inspect my jeep. i was given case #[xxx] and was told the dealer authorized repair to my airbag/steering wheel. since then i've been trying to have them fix my airbag. on 3/14 i called the dealership again to try and resolve and they told me i'd be put on a waiting list. the recall was for the passenger side airbag. but my drivers side airbag is the one that deployed for no reason it just went off. since this has happened i've been trying without success to have someone fix my jeep. i cant get it inspected until my steering wheel is replaced and it's my daily driver. i really need someone to help me get this resolved asap so i can have my jeep inspected. thank you for your time. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tt

Unable to get a recall repaired (p61) because of the fraudulent actions of california superstores valencia chrysler jeep dodge ram in valencia, california (661) 379-7709. dealer falsely submitted that the recall was completed in 2015 thus removing my vehicle from further safety notifications regarding this recall. vehicle has never been to california which the chrysler jeep corporation should be able to verify using the onstar system installed on the vehicle. all of this was discovered while trying to get the takata recall completed on vehicle.

09-18-2018 went to get oil change and after the oil change begin to have a oil leak, researched and it seemed a lot of jeep owners had same issue with oil cooler going bad after oil change. very expensive part to have to keep replacing after oil changes think something needs to be updated so this ain't a ongoing issue with jeeps they are already very expensive to purchase and having to replace this part after monthly maintenance for your vehicle., people has stated they have had to fix this more then once.this is over 800.00 buck to fix

I parked the jeep, set the emergency brake and put the vehicle in gear, with engine off. while inside the business lobby, the jeep started to roll backward into a busy roadway. the jeep gain speed due to the incline. and i desperately attempted to stop the jeep, before it could roll-away onto the busy roadway and cause injuries or fatalities. i was ran over by my jeep – during my desperate and unsuccessfull attempt to stop the roll-away jeep. the jeep stoped, after crashing into an electrical utilities pole at the curb-side. i suffered severe damage to my leg requiring immediate emergency medical attention. the jeep was taken to a chrysler dealer, for an inspection. while the jeep was in the dealership, chrysler sent out a private contractor to inspect the vehicle. as part of the inspection, the occupant restraint controller (orc) crash-data was retrieved. i made several requests to chrysler, for a copy of the final inspection report. and was repeatedly denied the (orc) data, retrieved from my jeep wrangler. the chrysler dealer had to replace the front axle of the jeep. the out-of-pocket cost for the repair was $6,859.92. also, i had the jeep taken to different jeep-chrysler dealer, for a second inspection. after performing diagnostics, the certified mechanic confirmed that the emergency brakes, while engaged – would not hold the vehicle. the e-brake was replaced at out-of-pocket cost of $1,138.41. the failure mileage, for the 2013 jeep wrangler rubicon was 46,600. the 2011 nhtsa database posted chrysler recall no. b03also, for jeep wrangler roll aways resulting from parking brake assembly failures. however, the probem has not been corrected and continues after recalls. this is a serious, and very dangerous safety issue – in that you can see these vehicles turning into un-guided missles. and doing damage to people and property, as a result of parking brake failures.

I pulled into parking space, foot on brake,( zero speed naturally) as i started to move shifter from drive to park, the engine roared and jeep accelerated up over curb and ~ 20ft till i hit the corner of the la fitness building ( my destination) all the time with my foot depressed very hard on the brake. damaging front bumper, grill , headlight and windshield on left corner (driver side). i deployed all my strength to brake during event with no effect, turned off car, and put it in park. air bag did not deploy. 1-10-2019 at ~ 8:45am. carrolton texas (75007 ) police report # 2019008855, officer elmore # 680 filed on 1-10-2019. i called huffines jeep dealership to inquire if issues with sudden acceleration had been reported (officer reccomend i check before i drive to their repair shop) bob in customer service said he did not know of any issues or recalls. so i slowly drove with warning light active at ~ 20 mph to shop to start repairs (geico ins. claim # 0529467460101044 )

No heat on drivers side only causing visibility issues as defrost on drivers side is blowing cold air. shop has done colant flush 2x in 1 year plus changed the thermostat which have all only been temporary fixes. issue always returns. heated seats fail to function as colder the outside temp is and when engaged doesnt feel as hot as they should. jeep engine stalls out in reverse, worse when cold outside, will also dies occasionally when putting into drive. dealer fail to find the cause as no warning lights are ever on as this did not happen in their presence and no codes come up although this happens almost every morning during winter when attempting to back out of my driveway. occasionally if engine is stalling upon reverse it will also stall in the street again when shifting from reverse into drive. this stalling issue will happen no matter if i warm the engine before attempting to drive or not it makes no difference but it is more often in winter. don't remember having this issue during summer but i've only owned it 1 year. jeep also occasionally shakes terribly when i hit 60mph. so badly, i have to slow down or pull over as i feel like its going to lose control. my entire front end starts shaking, stealing wheel bouncing its awful. this 1st happened shortly after purchasing and i took it back to the dealer. was told the front passenger caliper was falling off, they replaced that and 1 wk later that same caliper was again hanging on by jist 1 bolt. shaking is again happening starting at exactly 60mph but calipers are in tact so i don't believe this was the real issue either. this $26k jeep is turning out to be a money pit. one thing after another. i keep reading about jeep owners all with my same problems so why are none of these issues being recalled???

Ticking noise from engine

Heater core issue - myself and many other jeep owners have reported issues with the heater core clogging. this is not a normal occurance in any vehicle. the repairs are invasive and costly (removing steering column, dash, center console, over $1000) or destructive if done the short cut way (cutting dash/glove box supports to remove the heater core). chrysler continues to pretend like this issue isnt a result of some design flaw. so we are faced with spending over a $1000, or cutting a dash support or driving around with no heat or trading our vehicles in. it truly becomes a safety issue when driving in snow or extremely cold weather and your windshield on the driver's side starts to freeze up.

My jeep wrangler is stalling and once i get it restarted the transmission will jerk when shifting. i have taken it to my local jeep dealer and they were not able to locate the problem. when this happens the check engine light is not coming on so they can’t diagnose it. this typically happens when in reverse or when coming to a stop in drive. this has happened several times in traffic. i am afraid this will cause an accident. the reason i took it to the dealership, i was in traffic at a stoplight and it stalled on me 5 times before i could get it to keep running. this has also happened when sitting still and idoling. i love my jeep and have wanted one since i was a kid. i was very disappointed that the dealership was not able to fix the problem. i found online where 2017-18 models were having this same issue. my wrangler is a 2013 sport unlimited. i think you should consider looking into expanding this recall to include older years. i am asking for your help to fix this issue in my jeep. please advise my local dealership of how to find and fix the issue. please help before an accident is caused by this problem.

I smelled a very strong sent of fuel inside the cab while driving on my way home from work. i went to the gym and ask any of my friends to come take a look at it. a puddle of fuel built up underneath my vehicle in a matter of minutes. once we opened the hood and turned on the jeep for a second, it was immediately discovered that the fuel line split. it was a long split (2-3") along the length of the fuel line. part number 68141849ad.

The seatbelt/airbag light went on at 27000 miles. one dealer said it was the wiring under the seat and another said it was the seatbelt. my municipal mechanic looked up recall information on the issue and it seems as though my vehicle should have been recalled. any 2013 jeep wrangler sport made before 7/1/2013 has a faulty seatbelt. this is concerning and i am scared to have anyone ride on the passenger side. i am attaching the prodemand report. please contact me as soon as possible. the light went on when i started the car,

On thursday, august 23, 2018 at approximately 12:20 i was driving down i820 south bound at the speed of 65 mph when i heard a loud pop that sounded like a gunshot, about 30 seconds or less later there was another one. the steering wheel started shaking and i almost lost control of the vehicle. luckily, i was in the far right lane and at an exit when i regained control and i immediately took the exit and got to the shoulder of the service road. it appears the tire failed from the sidewalk. see attached picture up close to view two sidewall ruptures consistant with the sounds and tire failure. tire is goodyear eagle rsa with approximately 55% treadlife remaining

Please refer to nhtsa campaign number: 18v524000. this is happening to my jeep. at times it would do a quick "chug". other times it has stalled. after about 25 minutes, i would be able to start the jeep. this began last november. the most recent stall was august 20, 2018.

Twice my vehicle’s engine has simply turned off while driving. both times were at low speeds. the first time i was in reverse in a parking garage. the engine simply stopped. all the lights still remained on. i thought i must have put the car in neutral by mistake, but have had this car for 3 years and have never donee that before.. turned the car off and back on and went on my way. there were no indicator lights on before or after this incident. the next day i was turning at an intersection and the car engine again completely shut off. there were no warning lights at all to show the vehicle had an issue. and there was no way this was a mistake on my end. then the engine would not turn over. i was stopped in the middle of a traffic intersection. it was not on a main road, but still on an active road, where in the span of 5 minutes 50 cars must have driven by. it was dark out and i am lucky there was good lighting in the area. someone helped me to push the car out of the intersection. all the lights continued to work. after 20 minutes, the car started again. i brought the car into the dealership today. they tested the vehicle and found no codes or errors that popped up. they had no idea what to recommend. but now i am fearful to drive my car less i find myself in an even more precarious situation than before. the fact that this issue is unidentifiable is unacceptable. further below there is a link to a website, carcomplaints.com, where it is possible the issue has been identified as being associated with the crank shaft.

When you pull onto the road it starts to hit the brakes and when you try to hit the gas it still hits the gas then the abs comes on than the anti slip comes on and than the other one comes on like you are going down the hill comes on. it keeps up hitting my brakes than for a little while it lets up off my brakes but the lights stay on.

Driving down interstate, check engine soon light, and traction control light come on, vehicle loses power, decelerates on its own. cruise control stops working. have to almost floor gas pedal to keep power going to vehicle. vehicle then randomly has small burst of acceleration on its own. occured while driving down i-10. occurs randomly while driving, without warning. almost caused a major accident between myself and a semi, while my kids were in the vehicle.

Numerous events of sudden stalling of vehicle at high speed in drive, at low speed in drive and reverse; creating a very dangerous situation involving near-miss rear end collisions. can take up to 15 minutes to restart engine. engine sometimes appears to restart with a ticking sound, has no power and automatic transmission can't be shifted into drive or reverse. other times, engine starts and transmission can be shifted into drive or reverse, but gears do not engage. numerous events, as common as stalling events, involving sudden and sometimes violent shocks to the drivetrain, which happen at all speeds, usually when accelerating. everyone knows this is a tipm issue, with serious safety implications related to the potential for high speed rear end collisions by following vehicles, that chrysler and the nhtsa have not taken adequate action to remedy except on limited affected vehicle types. substantial information exists on this known issue, including information and documentation submitted to chrysler and nhtsa. this particular vehicle was purchased new, started to exhibit this series of problems at the beginning of 2018 after 60,000+ miles, and has been back and forth to the dealer multiple times. there are no recorded error codes according to the dealer. the fuel pump relay has been replaced by dealer, supposedly, which was the latest unsuccessful attempt at solving the problem? prior to that work was performed on the transmission, supposedly, which also did not solve the problem? prior to the current symptoms, two unexplained dead battery events occurred. now, readily found information shows a link with tipm and fuel pump relay failures that allow the fuel pump to run and drain the battery after turning off the ignition. how many more reports to nhtsa will it take to responsibly address this very serious potential rear collision safety issue related to the tipm?

Traction control light stays on. unable to turn off. everything is pointing to the clockspring recall. but my jeep has not gotten any letter or notification about the recall that is currently out. please add my vin to the recall list so i can take it to the dealer asap

Front brakes are sticking. after i stop and proceed to go the brakes don't release completely. it feels like it is dragging and my brake pad were burning.

Driver side air bag and horn nonoperational.

The front wheels wobble uncontrollably at high speeds (55mph). the steering wheel shakes and only considerable slowing and countermeasures can stop this horrifying problem. the condition is known as "jeep death wobble" and if you look it up on google you can see video of precisely what is happening to my jeep on the highway, on bridges, on curves while i am going fast. it happened at 20k they fixed it and it started to happen again around 75k. they know there is a serious problem.

Sway bar disconnect connector has heavy corrosion. was told my dealer common problem with the rubicon model (see attached image). this is the anniversary edition jeep and was very expensive and i was told when i purchased it that all parts were excellent long last parts now this is a safety issue. is there a recall on this or can one be issued. i have contacted mopar and they will have digital imagines.

I was getting into my vehicle and turned on the car. immediately after i turned it on my windshield wipers began starting (with them off) and wouldn't stop. i turned my car off and they continued to keep moving. i tried to move my car into the garage and my car wouldn't come out of park. then i started smelling a really bad smell of something burning so i called my local auto shop asap because the smell wouldn't stop and he had me disconnect the battery to shut everything off. my car had to be towed to an auto shop to get fixed. i was top the tipm module was faulty. i had to get a whole entire new module which cost 1,200$. i was told that this could have happened in the middle of me driving the car and i was lucky that it only happened when i was parked. i was also told by many other people who drive a chrysler, dodge, or jeep that this is a very common problem in older models. i feel very uneasy driving my car now.

When i'm driving the jeep, it does not matter if i going up or going down on a hill and i apply the brakes and stop, they stay applied and not released.

Constant ticking noise coming from the top of the engine. this ticking noise is made from worn out rocker arms/ cam lifters as the camshaft rotates. the bearing material in the lifters is not hardened steel and can degrade. all 3.6l pentastar engines are affected by these defective rocker arms. if the rocker arms are damaged no code will show. the first sines will be a loss in fuel efficacy. as the camshaft wears down changing the displacement of the cylinders this will start causing misfire and stalling during normal driving/ acceleration. eventually, ware debris can fall into the cylinder and damage the head. i first took my jeep to the dealership at 60k miles to diagnose. with no codes showing i was told everything in the engine checked out and the ticking noise was from the valves. now at 84k miles one of the rocker arms is definitely failing and still not showing codes. the dealership will not cover replacement under warranty because the purchase date was 5 1/2 years ago. this is a known issue with the 3.6l pentastar. chrysler has provided technical bulletins to visually identify defective rockers but are not providing extended warranty or recall on this part. while at the dealership the technician said they handle a lot of rocker arm replacements on pentastar engines, 5 to 10 a week! chrysler should take responsibility for sourcing and installing defective parts in their engines.

My wife's jeep has had an issue with the heater for the last 2 months. the driver side vents are blowing cold air and the passenger side vents are blowing warm air only. this is a new issue since we have owned the vehicle starting in june 2016.

With no leaks and less than 65,000 miles, the amount of heat produced through the vehicles heating system has been steadily diminishing to the point that it now only blows cool air. this condition is present even after the vehicle is up to operating temperature and has been in continuous operation. research has indicated that a engine component manufacturing defect (casting sand residue) has directly caused this condition with the sand residue accumulating in the heater core and restricting/blocking the flow of coolant through the heater core.

Driver's side of windshield would not defrost. after internet review, i believe my heater core is partially clogged with a sludge like substance circulating in the anti freeze coolant and this only allows hot air to circulate on the passenger side of vehicle. the sludge like substance clogging the heater core is believed by some to be caused by manufacturing remnants stuck in the cooling system. the issue only became apparent to me on a longer than normal commute in cold weather. i was travelling on a highway at night following a snowstorm and the roads were poorly plowed. i only have 50,000 miles on this car and have not had any work done to this car's engine or had any damage to the engine compartment. the anti freeze has not been changed since manufacture and not yet removed from the vehicle. the problem occurred last night. february 5, 2019, but may have been an issue prior to last night, but the problem was not as severe. i will attempt to contact fca regarding this issue. there are numerous complaints listed on the internet regarding this issue.

Steering wheel controls stopped working which also included the ability to use the horn. the air bag light also came on making the air bag system non operating. is not a fuse issue. something is faulty within the steering system and clock spring. was driving down the road and the air bag light came on without any form of collision taking place. tried using horn to see if it worked and no sound. tried using radio controls none work. tried using cruise control nothing worked. i have turned the jeep steering wheel every way and nothing works. turned it off and on still nothing working. disconnected battery and then connected it back up. still not working. checked all fuses by dealer no issues. factory equipment no modifications made still not working. unsafe environment made by this malfunction within jeep wrangler.

Driving down the road, the steering wheel shakes violently left to right, and you are forced to bring the vehicle to a stop. in checking the internet, and speaking to a technician, this is a fairly common problem called the "death wobble". i am unclear how something as dangerous as this can become "acceptable" in terms of jeep performance. while i put an incident date of 3/16 on the form, this vehicle behavior has happened multiple times.

I bought this 2013 jeep not even two years ago and i’ve sank over 8,000 dollars in repair into it. their should be a ton of recalls on these jeeps around the same year. i’m a mail carrier and my first route was all paved roads. this had nothing to do with delivering the mail. these jeeps are junk and jeep won’t take initiative for it. the traction control and check engine light stay on. every time it’s been fixed it’s been cam shafts, rocker arms, cam shaft sensors, steering sensor, clock spring, and wiring harness. it shouldn’t have to be fixed that many fines and continue to happen. these jeeps should be able to withstand more being made for postal vehicles. every carrier or person i know with one has the same exact issue. when those lights come on the jeep literally loses all power, it still runs but ticks and sounds like it is about to blow up. the vehicle does it while sitting and driving. it’s got a constant tick too. it’s been to surrounding dealerships and i get told the same thing. i pay 500 dollars a month for a piece of crap. jeep needs to take responsibility for this. their are law suits against them, and i have no doubt the customers will win. something needs to be done. this is america, we work our butts off to pay for something jeep is responsible for, its not right.

I was on a highway doing 45 mph. the speed limit is 55 so i proceeded to pass when it cleared only to have the gas pedal stick. i reached speeds over 90 mph before i was able to get the edge of my shoe under the pedal to get it unstuck. i was extremely lucky no other vehicle was in front of the one i passed. this could have easily cost me my life and possibly others as well.

I have notices on the jeep forums similar issues with electric window not going down. my vehicle all 4 window electronics do not work and the dealers are telling me that the tipm needs to be replaced. when reading, this seems to be a common issue that nobody seems to want to address as a common defect however its pretty wide spread. the tpim is the complete fuse system under the hood which makes no sense since it is only one portion of the entire electrical system and this part through the dealer runs about $1000 plus installation. seems like it would be a plug and play issue but never the less the dealer say they never heard of this issue. read the forums it seems to be a pretty consistent issue no matter what model. yet the dealer tells you to turn the key on and off and also remove the batter cables to fix this issue. seems like something they already already know about dont ya think?

Oil adapter housing is leaking oil. noticed when i was getting a routine oil change.

Heater core clogged.radiator sludge leftover from casting sand in cylinder heads circulated thru heating and cooling systems cause sand to settle in radiator and clog heater core

Oil filter housing, cracked resulting in loss of large amounts of oil, engine has 82,000 miles and oil has been changed every 3000-3500, using manf recommended oil and filter. started leaking large amount of oil and burning smell, dealer stated that the oil filter housing was cracked due to over tightening of oil filter cap. this is not true, have for the last 4 years used a torque wrench to the manf specifications printed on the oil filter cap. reviewing this on the internet and sees to be a common problem on the penstar engine which changed from bottom mount to top mount oil filter. many others have had the replacement covered under the 100,000 mile warranty but this local dealership states it was user error and refuses to cover. would like for nhtsa to review the number of issues other jeeps have had with this part breaking, as dealer warned this is a potential fire hazard with the oil leaking.

P0302 misfire cylinder 2. p0300, p0304 & p0306 jeep/dodge is very aware of this cylinder issue and has a service bulletin for several models. (journey, wrangler, 200/avenger, challenger, charger, grand caravan, durango and grand cherokee). and they will not recall this part. the only way to know if you have the problem is the service light indicator. so you car will not start if it malfunctions. of course they want you to only have extended warranty to possible help. as of right now they will not assist with the problem.

Airbag light came on, took to dealer they said clockspring clogged which shuts down airbag functionality, need to replace clockspring. checked web, found that chrysler recalled all jeeps year 2007 thru 2011(393,000) for design defect of clockspring stating it can get clogged resulting in inoperable airbag like my son experienced. then noticed they recalled 2011 thru 2016 right hand drive for same defect. i asked if our clockspring was same design which response was yes so i asked why ours wasn't recalled and covered by chrysler and response was it wasn't. if product is same for all those years it should be recalled because accident will happen and someone will get seriously hurt if airbags do not deploy. clockspring is same design in my son's jeep as all the others that were recalled.

I have had the clutch replaced once already and it is now exibiting the same error as before. the clutch will depress but not fully disengage for a prper and safe shift. the vehicle is in motion and the clutch does not fully disengage if the vehicle ia sitting the clutch will disengage on one out of three pumps of the clutch.

When i hit a bump with the passenger side front tire at speeds between 40-60 mph, the car begins to shake violently until the speed slows to about 30 mph. this happens in motion, on any streets/highways while driving straight or turning.

Fuel leaking when tank is above three quarters full.fuel module had many cracks where the fuel is leaking from.

I was driving on an expressway keeping up with traffic when my engine just stalled. luckily, i was in the outside lane and was able to coast to the shoulder. this has happened before. the first time, the dealer updated the software. the second time, the dealer replaced the power train module. in fact, the day i got it back from the dealer, it stalled again going about 25 mph. then, the dealer calibrated the throttle. i was told if it happens again, call them and they will have it towed. this is what i did. it was at the shop the next day and they stated it started right up. they are keeping it there and will be driving it with hopes of duplicating the problem. i am lucky that i was able to coast the the shoulder and not get rear ended by another vehicle.

Esc light came on while driving down the road. after that, the brakes started on their own and i couldn't steer. i was able to slowly drive to the dealership and they had to fix the clock spring. even though this is a known recall and problem to the 2007-2010 jeeps, they didn't include the 2013 in the recall and it was over $600 out of my pocket to fix.

My 2013 wrangler unlimited has recently started to stall while driving. it happens randomly, 4 times in the last 3.5 months - the latest was today and yesterday. it starts again after sitting about 5-10 minutes or disconnecting the battery and seems to drive fine otherwise. no lights go off, it just dies and i loose power steering. this has happened in lower gears as well as higher. the dealership states they have never heard of this problem and advised me that they would not be able to do much since no dash lights go off. i have bought a code reader and no codes are thrown. it happened while driving on a major highway doing 65-70 mph while in the middle lane. the car literally just shuts off with no notice. my family could have been killed! in short...car was moving then shut down for no reason.

Both times my problem occurred i was driving down the highway at about 70-75 mph and the sway control and check engine lamp would both illuminate. the vehicle would go into power derate mode and you couldn't accelerate. hooked a diagnostic code reader to the vehicle and found chrysler trouble codes p0369, p2638, and c121c. had to do with camshaft sensor, and transmission torque request being denied. i took it to the dealership and they couldn't find any problem. i have found multiple people on online jeep forums that have had the same issue occur. the dealership just had me go and pick up my vehicle exactly as it was when i brought it in. hoping to find out if anybody had this issue and actually got it fixed. had this issue occur twice. one time was the day that i bought the vehicle 7/28/2018 and the second was on my way to the dealership on 7/31/2018.

My vehicle has been broken into more than 5 times in the past 6 months and i have all these people following me around on every location i am while serving my mail route...i spent over 2500 on sensors and wiring but my vehicle continues to flash check engine lights and chimes constantly while driving down the road. i am very concerned the computer system has been compromised several different occasions and i have went too 2 different jeep dealerships and both are pulling different codes on the exact same day.the codes were reset i drove 25 miles to the next dealership when all sorts of lights started flashing and the engine lost power. i got to the next dealership that pulled codes and said nothing was happening. i even had a person contact me from one of the dealerships telling me to come in for a service part that i had not confirmed to be ordered . my fear for my safety is of high concern if someone is deliberately trying to sabotage my vehicle.

2013 jeep wrangler had 72,000 highway miles, never towed or beat on jeep. while driving at 70mph on highway car suddenly swerved violently to right and left multiple times, almost flipped over. had it towed to belle tire and found right rear axel went out, affected calipers and brakes all had to be replaced. i was less than 2 months out of powertrain, called they wont reimburse since it was not repaired at jeep dealer. the car abs/tracktion control lights went on, hardly went forward due to brakes locked up and smelled like it was burning, actual right rear rim too hot to touch, wouldn't even move in gear unless gassed it. never had a warning, rear brakes had just been replaced two months earlier.

Out of the blue the jeep would not start one morning. there were no warning signs. it had to be towed to the dealer. turns out the wcm (wireless control module) failed in the ignition so the keys were not recognized by the module. they replaced the part (would not cover under our extended warranty we purchased!!!!) and reprogrammed both our keys. $385.00 later it now starts.

A hazard to every occupant, heating system quits working due to faulty self-destructing heater core that also disables oil cooler and radiator. original part number #68004193a sheds all casting sand then causing clogs & total shut downs. clearly known well since 2013 with no warning to any owners (reference their own jeep forum). in addition to frozen passengers and complete shut-down @ “anytime”, the $110 made-to fail part results in $2,382 added expense, as well as multiple mis-diagnosis expense(s) by their own certified mechanics. criminal

At only around 20,000 miles while turning right and braking i would hear a crunch sound. also the cloth top on the jeep was manufactured very tightly against the side roll bars and are wearing out the cloth on the poles which will eventually end up with a torn material. i’ve had to replace the plastic back window at 17,0000 miles because of the lack of visibility. currently the jeep has 28,000 miles and is garage kept. the fender flares have started faded already too.

When you hit a bump or even a rock on the highway or any road, something happens the front end it starts shaking like crazy its as if you had a blow out. normally around 35 to 50 miles an hour. this is happening to many jeep owners they call it the "jeep death wobble." it is a very frightening situation. the steering wheel and the whole front end shakes back and forth. slowing down does not correct the problem as some people have suggested you have to come to a complete stop. and then start driving again. this happened on a busy highway where there is not way of pulling over or on a road and it also happened on the city streets. this can cause a situation, there has been no recall on the issue but have heard many stories about this issue. it does not happen all the time , but when it does it is very frightening . this has happened several times but i have decided to make a complaint about it. i have not made video of it because you never know when it will happen, but have seen several on you-tube of vehicles with the same issue. i feel chrysler jeep should take full responsibility for it. also the electric on the blinkers seem to be going out often also. replacing a bulb does not work it is the whole socket or wiring system that needs to be replaced. i i research these issues many many jeep owners complain about the same thing

No heat! clogged heater core! grit and slime in dirty/discolored oem coolant (10 yr/150k mile rated). never touched or added to, unless undocumented by dealer. this is our family vehicle that my wife/kids use daily, and it is about 10f here in vt right now. very common chrysler issue apparently and dealer does nothing but attempt to flush multiple times which does not solve the problem and is a huge inconvenience! i am still under 5 yr/100k powertrain warranty, since when is cooling system not part of power train? heat was reduced last winter, this winter virtually none. dangerous to constantly clear the windshield with no defrost! this needs to be a recall

My jeep stalls when going down the highway and there is no power steering or brakes i have taken it in to local jeep dealer and can find nothing wrong it also stalls when backing up or going forward it does start back up but on the highway it doesn't start right away it takes 10 to 15 minutes it's very dangerous this is getting to be a common thing somebody is going to get hurt or killed thank you for your time this really needs to be address

Just purchased, heat not working. had heater core flushed, heat worked for one week and now blows very hot on right side and luke warm on left side. the same symptoms as the casting sand plugging the heater core. i now have to take back to shop to flush heater core again. not good.

Is not shifting into gear while driving it-was told my another mechanic that is reading as a shift control module issue under diagnostic testing machine- should be covered by power train warranty- vehicle only has 69k miles- calling chrysler jeep

My jeep wrangler has stalled out while driving 2x and then does not restart even though it is cranking over. after 15 minutes of sporadic attempts to restart it starts and runs fine. i replaced the cam position sensor and the map sensor at the dealer after the first instance and drove 4000 miles without a problem. it just happened again today. it does not stutter like poor gas delivery or cough it just quits losing power steering and power breaks while i am going down the road.

Heater does not produce warm air on driver side of vehicle through floor, vent, or defrost. driving speed does not affect temperature on driver side. heat will sometimes get warm on driver side after an hour of driving. appears to be related to star case s12307000008. this is a wide spread, known issue, that is very expensive to repair. it is dangerous as well due to ice build up on windshield because there is no defrost heat on driver side.

The vehicle stalled out on one occasion several months ago. it cranked and cranked but wouldn't turn over. today when trying to leave, i couldn't get it to turn over...after about half an hour and my battery almost dying i disconnected the negative connection to battery and it fired up after reconnecting. i'm reading there are 50,000+ vehicles with a tipm issue and believe this is impacting my jeep. it's a $1300 fix that i think chrysler/jeep should own.

Takata recall. airbagrecall.com tells me i’m at risk but does not list a recall for my vehicle at this time.

Vehicle exhibits stalling and engine shut off at idle or low speeds below 60 mph. vehicle bucks/slips/jerks at speeds of 60 mph+ as witnessed by dealer service mechanic. vehicle intermittently will not go into gear or will reverse while in drive and must be turned off and returned to park, before attempting to restart. check engine light on. no dealer codes found therefore, unable to properly diagnose and repair. vehicle is very unsafe and unstable.

The vehicle is consuming an excessive amount of oil (more than a quart per 250 miles) and is overheating when under load on long climbs. overheating and/or excessive oil consumption causes the vehicle to go into "limp" mode which is a sudden and complete loss of power where the engine will not go over 3000 rpm. when oil level drops to about 3 quarts low, the check engine light comes on and the jeep goes into limp mode. the dealership has replaced valve tappets, the left camshaft and the left cylinder head under my chrysler "maxcare" lifetime warranty, but the problem persists. jeep customer care is now telling me the repair may no longer be covered by my lifetime service contract (reference jeep customer care case number 32175924). the sudden loss of power when at highway speeds from overheating and/or oil loss is a safety issue.

Air bag light came on, none of the steering wheel controls including the horn are working.

Our jeep started stalling on occasion about 10 months ago when sitting in traffic. restart was immediate. it progressively started happening more often. four months ago we took it to the service department at the dealership. they replaced a wiring harness for the fuel pump and a spark plug. it did not fix the problem. they replaced a valve body for the transmission. that did not fix the problem. they replaced a rocker arm and multiple other parts and still it has not fixed the problem. on september 29, 2017, it stalled while in motion at 30 mph on a city street. my daughter was alone while driving it and sat in the middle of the road for 15 minutes before it would restart. we have talked with a mechanic that does not work for the dealership and he does not know what the problem could be. no one seems to know what is causing the problem and it could have been very dangerous if she had been driving at a faster rate of speed or if there had been more traffic. it was a sunny day and the roads were dry.

Esc light is constantly on. this results in cruise control not working, this also causes the mil (check engine) to stay illuminated. this was initially a problem when i bought the vehicle new. i have ignored this issue, but after relocating to a new state, california requires the check engine light to be off in order to pass a smog inspection. i’ve replaced the clock spring. no change. i believe my jeep is affected by the same issue that resulted in nhtsa recall no. 14v-636. i would not say that nhtsa 16v-290 should apply to this vehicle, only because the airbag warning light is not on.

Studs keep braken on rear wheels

I have 2013 jeep wrangler unlimited sport. i'm having an issue the the vehicle shutting off while in operation. there are no warning light or any indications. this has happened 3 times to me so far. first time was in late august, my girlfriend and i were heading home from work. 2nd time was on 9/16/17, and most current was yesterday 9/26/17. it happens at any speed, once it shuts off, it won't start back up right away, usually you have to let it sit for 10-15 minutes. if you try to start it before it will sound like it is trying to turn over but will not. the 1st time it happened i took it to my mechanic, he hooked it up to the computer and it came back with no open codes. at the point i'm not sure what to do. dealership will not return call. hate to just replace items if it is not going to fix the problem. all 3 times this had happened on local road ways, on sunny clear days, and the vehicle was in motion all three times. i do feel lucky so far our kids have not been in the jeep nor have we been on an interstate traveling 70 mph. having your vehicle just shut off puts you in danger from all the other drivers.

My left hand drive jeep unlimited wrangler has a clock spring issue too that cannot be resolved. all jeeps need to be on the recall, not just the right hand drive jeeps.

Driving on highway and factory installed floor mat lodged so the accelerator was depressed. put vehicle in neutral and the rpms went up to six until i relized what happened and unlodged rubber mat from accelerator.

Having problems with my heater core and radiator becoming clogged i have had them both flushed by the dealership several times and they still clog causing hazardous driving in the winter time with no defrosters or heat to safely drive to work

My jeep was parked on the street in front of my house for about 13 hours and a electrical fire started on the front passenger side at around 3am. it burned half the vehicle before being put out and totaled out my jeep. it also damaged the entire back end of the car parked in front of me. the fire department ruled this was a electrical fire and not arson. days before i noticed the outside temp was reading at 119 degrees out side when the temp was actually 99 degrees. i'm not sure if this had anything to do with it but i found it very odd. i have read thousands of incidents similar to this some involving worst property damage and even cases with fatalities. i think chrysler/jeep need to be held accountable for this and get these dagerous vehicles off the streets asap

Since the spring of 2016, my jeep wrangler rubicon has been stalling after ignition, as i put the vehicle in reverse (it is an automatic transmission) and occasionally while idling at stop lights. this problem has occured 20-25 times over the last 7 months. the dealership has reflashed the control modules, but the problem persist. the vehicle isn't safe to drive because of the tendency to stall at stop lights. what caught my attention was the first time it did it and i had my 5 years old son in the car. the vehicle is currently at the dealership and they are further investigating the problem. they have been able to replicate the issue (stalling in reverse, and while idling). the vehicle starts right away, but occasionally power isn't available immediately (2-3 seconds delay). jeep wasn't aware of similar problems when i called... and this morning i learned about other fca vehicles been recalled because they are stalling in traffic.

Jeep randomly cuts off while driving. has happened at low and high speeds, normally low speed it will cut back on quickly, you have to wait 5-10 min for a high speed cut off. the vehicle does not throw any codes and dealer cannot fix if they can't replicate. this has happened 5 times in the last month.

I have 24,000 miles and noticed grinding coming from my passenger rear wheel. i went to an auto repair shop. they informed me that the caliper is partially froze and needed a new one. it also ruined my brake and rotor on that side. they also recommended to not install one side but to make both match. due to a faulty caliper i am out $500. the auto mechanic said he has oddly seen this on relatively new jeep wranglers too frequent. i went online and found out from jeep forums that this is happening often. i'm not too sure on how the recall process works... but i wouldn't mind trying to recover some/all of my costs due to faulty oem equipment.

My 2013 jeep wrangler started having sensor problems within a year after i bought it brand new!! now after three years and many sensors being replaced along with sensor wiring it's not driveable and dealership mechanics can not fix it or figure out what's wrong. the engine light along with traction control light stays on, the automatic transmission will not shift good, it has trouble cranking, and cuts off in the middle of the road which is very dangerous and can cause an accident!!! in the last month i've had 4 software updates done, replaced the abs module, replaced cam shaft sensor, and wheel speed sensors, but after i pick it up from the dealership i drive it a few miles and lights come back on and it starts running horrible again!! i'm paying for a vehicle you can't even drive so something has got to be done about this!!! chrysler should have to be held responsible for these crappy jeeps they are making, and mine is not the only one!!!

Seat belt tensioner will not release to enable restraint.

Airbag signal failure (clock spring dust issue) 2013 jeep wrangler jku left-hand drive experiencing driver side airbag signal failure. a recall for the same symptoms (recall #16v288000) applies only to right-hand vehicles, which use the same part. mileage approximately 45,000.

Woke up approx. 0230 to find my 2013 jeep wrangler sport engulfed in flames in my driveway. the last time the jeep was running was approx. 8pm the night prior.

Transmission stalled on freeway going 65 mph. lucky to be alive. coasted off of freeway in nick of time. this should not happen, how many others have had this death defying experience.

The radiator cooling line rubbed against the air conditioning condenser, and the rubbing caused a hole which evacuated the a/c fluid. the fix was to replace the condenser and distance the radiator line so that it was no longer touching the condenser. the jeep has never been in an accident, and it seems like this was a factory defect. the job costs over $700 at the jeep dealership.

On 6 separate occasions, the electronic stability control light came on, which disables the cruise control. the jeep has 42,000 miles, and it started happening at about 39,000 miles. it happened at various speeds between 30 mph and 65 mph, on moderately bumpy roads, however, not bumpy enough to be described as outside of the normal. took it into the jeep dealership, and they said it was working properly, but it never happened before 39,000 miles of driving the same roads under the same conditions.

This is the 3rd time i have to replace the front windshield. please, this is not of stones or pebbles, or chips. each time the windshield cracked i either had the heater or air conditioner on.

Airbag warning light came on. read about the safety recall in the news. called the dealer. dealer said my vehicle is not covered and a fix would be about $90.00. light is on when stationary or moving on street, highway. recall information indicates that when the warning light comes on it is indicative that the airbag may not inflate in an accident.

Vehicle began to violently shake while driving - made it almost impossible to control. upon research on the internet this is called "death wobble" by large number that this has happened to. multiple videos exist on the internet for this. the repair was to replace stabilizer but chrysler knows about this and recommends an additional part as well star case #s1602000001. this is a huge safety issue.

Windshield wipers do not work. fog lights do not work. engine light and traction control lights come on and off at random. dealer advised tipm is bad and must be replaced. back log on replacement part and ship date is unknown.

Drivers seat does not remain in position. upon entering or exiting vehicle the outside of the seat cushion pushes down on the adjustment handle lowering seats position. the adjustment handle can only be mounted in 120 degree increments so forget truing to change position of the handle as it's to far out of usable position that way.

Vehicle upon leaving a store, (just began to rain hard), the lights, wipers, cruise control, horn, and all functions on the steering wheel and left and right stalk stopped working. i assume the airbag is also not functional. no codes were registered in the vehicle for malfunction either. it has been a week and it is still not functioning. possibly the clock spring which was recalled for 2007-2012, but 2013+ vehicles were excluded even though it is the same part used in the later model vehicles. huge safety hazard!

The parking brake fails to hold the vehicle unless pulled to it's very maximum point and even then the hold is not strong. brake has been adjusted several times, but the issue still persists.

Parking/emergency brake does not work. i am in a few jeep clubs and all jeep wranglers, 2007-present have major issues with the parking/emergency brake not holding. most people do not care as we drive automatic transmission and its really not needed. my jeep has been to the dealer over 4 times with them unable to fix it. it is a bad design that is prone to failure

Vehicle stalled without warning. it has stalled 5 times while driving with no warning at different speeds and after different driving times. this time i had only driven 5 mins and about 300 yrds when it stalled. it has not started 2 times prior when leaving work. after 10mins the vehicle started and i drove it another 515 miles to dealership. waiting to see what they do after the 5th time at the dealership. this thing is going to kill me one day. it has already stalled on the interstate at 60mph. it is only a matter of time.

When changing the oil . when you remove the oil filter there is a plastic part on the shaft in the oil filter housing. this is a valve that controls the oil if the filter gets gummed up the presser causes this valve to open so that the oil will still flow if the filter is clogged. this plastic valve breaks during normal oil changes. to fix this 10 cent part you have to buy a whole new oil cooler unit at the cost of $237.00 also to have the dealership fix it your looking at $800 plus for a 10 cent part. jeep changed the oil cooling filter unit in the 2014 models. this also happens not only in the jeep jk v6 but also in dodge chargers and any v6 models that use this same filter oil cooler unit. part # 05184294ae number on image: 1 category: 3.6l gas; engine msrp $237.00 price may vary by dealer adapter engine oil filter seems like a ripoff that you can not buy a 10 cent part but have to buy a $237 unit that is not needed

Jeep has been stalling for 7 months. been in shop 9 times. jeep stalls going at different spends, while stopped, moving at idle in forward or reverse. jeep will not start unless terminal on battery removed or sits for awhile. transmission fails to engage occasionally in reverse or drive after stalling. last program download appears to be a fault with the tipm (totally intergrated power module). ptm and tpm changed out due to different readings in downloads. mechanic believes now, that the tipm is faulty. jeep has stalled up to 5 & 6 times on some days.

Failed tipm. waiting weeks on tipm to be available. on national back order due to failure of part. chrysler continues to have tipm issues in additional to the already recalled years/models.

With only 58,306 miles on my 2013 jeep wrangler, the clock spring has failed and air bag system will not deploy. in addition, this poses abandonment concerns as many users with similar problems find their vehicle will not start. i contacted my dealership today (northwest jeep chrysler dodge) and was dismayed at an almost $700 repair bill to regain airbag protection, even though fca has issued a recall for this same part number, but only in 2007 rhd vehicles. this is the same part!

Tipm failure. blower motor for heat/ac stopped working. this part was replaced under warranty at approx 25k miles and now the problem is back. this is a widespread jeep/chrysler issue which they have come to settlements on for other models. this issue needs to be addressed for the wrangler model line.

About a month ago i was in the middle of a 4 hour drive i do on a weekly basis and 2 hours into the drive my vehicle stalled as i was slowing for a yellow light. there was no warning at all and it took me a second to realize it had stalled. i was able to roll out of the traffic lane onto a side road. the police showed up and helped me push it off to the side of the road. at that point i tried to start it, approximately 10mins after stalling and it started right up. i went straight to autozone and had a new battery installed, $250.00 and got going on my way home - fat, dumb and happy - until 2 days later when it did it again. the second time it stalled i was on a busy 12 lane interstate 95 in downtown miami. again i did not know it had stalled, i was increasing speed from about 50mph to 60mph and pushed the gas pedal and nothing happened. i was in the middle of 6 lanes and immediately put my hazards on and rolled through traffic onto the side of the interstate. i waited 5 mins and it started right up and i went straight to the chrysler dealer in kendall, fl. they gave me a rental vehicle - thank god. about 3 weeks later they changed out the pcm and gave it back to me - fixed (supposedly). 2 weeks later it stalled in traffic on a 4 lane hwy; waited 5 mins and it started fine, was later at the store got in the vehicle and it would not start just kept trying to crank itself, waited 5 mins later and it started. that weekend took it to chrysler in tampa (jerry ulm) they said it is not in my warranty and i paid $400.00 for what i was told was a chrysler "work around". 2 days later it would not start and it tried to crank itself. i turned the key off and waited 5 mins and it started right up and i went directly to kendal chrysler, where it is sitting today as i write this.

Tipm is defective causing electrical faults in the headlights,transfer case, brakes and windshield wipers

Upon starting this vehicle in my driveway in preparation to go to work, the wipers came on and will not turn off, or slow down.this is a right hand drive jeep- i am a mail carrier and i have to have this to work six days a week. a week later the front power windows would not work for a period of time. the rear windows would work. later in the day they suddenly started working again.i now have to raise the hood and pull the fuse to stop the wipers. the jeep dealership tells me i have a faulty tipm and will have to buy a new one - $1019. it has been two weeks and they still do not have this part to repair the problem. i would guess the delay is due to the high demand for replacement tipms because they continue to use the defective ones in manufacture. this jeep is only three years old, and i see that earlier years have had recalls for faulty tipms and even a lawsuit involving older models than mine.. this is obviously a problem jeep knows about and has experienced for many years without correcting it.they obviously have continued to knowingly install faulty tipms in their vehicles. they should be held accountable and not make owners pay for something that they know is faulty when they manufactured it.

Got vehicle back from dealership after 5 different stallings and 3 times it did not start this is 3rd time at dealership. no code came up, tech drove 20 mins and they had no problem, said come pick up your vehicle. got vehicle back on thursday, drove friday 240 miles with one stop in the middle with no issues. drove back home 240 miles 2 days later, 3 hours and 45 mins into 4 hour drive, it stalled out with no warning. on single lane secluded road outside miami. krome ave- no passing 2 lane road. car stalled out with no warning. was able to drift to side of road, waited 5 mins and it started back up. after it had stalled out and was on side of the road, it showed the lightning bolt in the venturi symbol. i escaped death and injury again. i have decided to get an insurance death policy on me. i think my luck is going to be running out after this being the 6th time stalling and 3rd time not starting. what do i do now?????? i have put a lot of money in this jeep, with bumpers a lift kit.... i have no idea what to do. chrysler is not helping. they have had other chrysler vehicles including jeep cherokees that were recalled with this same problem but yet they cant fix my vehicle. i guess there were more rich people driving the other vehicles.

Gas flowing out of tank opening, not shutting off when filling tank up. has happened several times since having to fill vehicle up 3 times a week. have tried several gas stations, and the same thing has happened at all stations. it seems the cutoff valve, o ring or something inside the gas opening is not working

While climbing a rocky grade in 4 wheel drive low, the transmission slips, pauses and slows down, then suddenly catches and lurches forward. this has become dangerious as we travel on narrow roads with drop offs. this has happened multiple times over the past few months.

About a year ago the jeep would lose power driving on the road, the ignition light would come on and then in 4 or 5 second it would regain power, this happened about 3 times and i took it back to the dealer i purchased it from in crawfordsville,indiana . they said that they fixed it and for about a year i had no problem's. it has done the same thing twice in the last two weeks and i have now taken it back to the dealer again. the last time this happened i was on a ramp going from one interstate to another with a semi riding my rear bumper and if the power had not come back on quickly i would propably not be here today to report this.

Vehicle clipped/rubbed on a rock on the side of a public road while traveling approximately 30-35mph in a near straight line. no damage at all to wheels, tires , ball joints, control arms, or other bracketry. axle housing cracked open and caused the vehicle to lose control as the steering system no longer can work from this break. upon research of the jeep wrangler jk model axle housing failures, there appears to be many documented cases of the failure. major automotive publications have written about the known weakness and failures of this axle housing and many aftermarket companies sell products to reinforce the axle housing. the damage to my this vehicle appears to be in the exact same place as others found online.

A week ago i noticed when i started the jeep in the morning the air bag and the traction control lights on the dash came on. the cruise control quit working along with the radio controls on the steering wheel. the jeep is parked on the street. i disconnected the battery for about 30 min. i reconnected the battery and started it up. the air bags and traction control lights were still on in the dash. the steering controls do not work. the jeep was parked in front of my house on the street.

A continuous issue with a delay or complete non operation of the horn when horn button is "tapped". the problem is easily reproduced, but two dealerships state the horn is working as designed. the horn always operates when the horn button is depressed for more than 1/2 second. less than 1/2 second and intermittent operation results. occurs in all operating conditions, including engine off. difficult to warn pedestrians in a timely manner at times when inoperable.

I was driving down the highway at 70mph. it felt like the cruise control kicked in and the jeep began to accelerate. i tapped the break however the speed was increasing. i pressed down harder on the gas and the car slowed some but as soon as i let off the brake the car would speed up. i pressed down on the break and was able to get over to the side of the highway. a red warning light came on. i had to press the break to the floor and pull the parking break. the rear tires were still spinning so i shut the jeep off and called a tow truck. the jeep was towed to the nearest dealership. the jeep is still at the dealership and they are unable to find anything wrong with it. i'm suppose to pick it up however i'm afraid to begin driving the jeep again.

Brake booster made excessive noise. dealer replaced in september 2013. parts were on back order. dealer stated that they had over 3 others for same issue on order at dealership. just had same brake booster replaced again for same complaint september 2015.

Car starts to shake violently around 60 mph, especially if front tires go over bump or drain in the road. unable to drive unless slow down significantly - very dangerous on a highway. started around july of 2014 and has been happening sporadically ever since. last incident was 9/12/15

As i begin to pull into heavy traffic, i hear and see the check engine light warning along with the skid control light illuminating. the car then stalls leaving me sitting in 70 mph traffic. the vehicle starts back up but has a noticeable loss of power. this loss of power continued until i got home. when i finally get home i use a code reader which indicated it was a camshaft position sensor. code p0344. this could have been a much worse incident as there were no mechanical issues leading up to this.

I received a vehicle recall notification about 8 months ago and despite my constant communication with my dealer, all i have received from them are vague excuses and the deficiencies have not been corrected yet. as a former military officer, these type of poor attention to recalls is unacceptable. please asist at your earliest convenience.

Purchased vehicle used in may 2015. i'm the second owner. on approximately aug. 29, while driving and making a left turn from a stop, i heard a banging noise. the same banging noise happened about 1 week later (sep. 3), but this time when turning right from a stop. i drove the vehicle home and inspected under the vehicle to check it out. i discovered that the upper control arms on both the driver rear and passenger rear sides were completely broken. vehicle is still under 3 year 36/000 factory warranty and i also purchased an extended warranty. the dealer provided a "recall report" which came back clean. my vehicle has been parked since sep 3. i am having it towed to a chrysler dealership in a couple of days after parts come in for repair. this vehicle could have come totally apart had i been driving at a high rate of speed. in addition, the rear cv joint needed to be replaced. updated 10/07/15. *jb

The car and steering wheel starts to shake violently at any speed when road bumps or irregularities are encountered. this issue has resulted in loss of control and may cause injury or death. this has been named the "death wobble" by other jeep owners. it has happened twice after dealer has replaced the steering damper. i feel the car will return to this state after the second fix and i am not satisfied with the fix.

Driver seat adjustment feature is failing. primary driver requires seat to be set at highest possible height (vertical) elevation position. driver has had to repeatedly use manual adjustment feature to raise seat to required height majority of the time that the vehicle is driven. the frequency that the adjustment must be made before driving is increasing. although the seat has not yet dropped while the vehicle has been in motion, the concern is that it will start to occur in the future. when the seat drops, the primary driver has issues with the visibility and reaching the both the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal. (note: when the driver seat is adjusted to a higher position, it also moves forward...closer to the steering column and brake/gas pedals). in addition, when the seat drops to its default position, the primary driver's face is also put at risk if the airbag is deployed. this could result in a potentially serious injury to the primary driver if the airbag deployed with the seat in the default position. the potential failure of the seat adjustment feature in this vehicle appears to constitute a major safety hazard that may result in a significant injury or death (if failure were to occur while the vehicle was being operated by the primary driver).

My abs brakes come on at low speeds usually when i'm just starting out driving. the only way for me to continue driving is to disable the skid control. the abs lights will stay on and the ante skid control light will stay on for a brief amount of time sometimes it will go off and sometimes it will just stay on. the only time that it seems to not happen is when the car is on a flat surface and i just started out and all tires are straight. i tested a theory that i could put it in 4 wheel drive and start driving and the anti-lock brakes wouldn't come on and that work for the longest time. the minute i described it to a friend of mine and tested it out it failed anti-lock brakes came on when i was in 4 wheel drive at low speed.

Thus far in two years of service my vehicle has had four windshields replaced due to cracks. cracks were from stones thrown from other vehicles while jeep was being driven on highway. i have done some research and there are many, many other jeep owners having the same problems. an installer from safelight auto glass told me the windshields are being made much lighter to help reduce the weight of the vehicle. there are so many windshields breaking the last i heard there were 4000 oem on back order. the only choice is to get a non oem installed to get the vehicle back on the road. never in over 50 years of driving have i had four windshields broken from stones. problem is costing insurance companies and individual's a lot of money.

Driving down the road another driver pulled up yelling that my car was on fire. i pulled over, saw the smoke and then the flames from under the hood. fire and rescue determined it was an electrical fire. i had just had the safety recall taken care of for the mirrors last month and my state inspection done 4 days prior. it is at the shop currently under "investigation" by the dealership to determine the cause. *tr

A few days before the light for airbags came on the cruise would only work periodically then stopped. then while going mail box to mailbox. turning steering to left to pull away from box the airbag light would come on and a warning sound. i called dealer they said it sounded like a clockspring issue. but while they light is on they said the airbags won't deploy. *tr

My truck has been brought in for service twice for repeatedly stalling while in motion. it has been at the dealership service department for a combined 56 days. i first brought the vehicle in for service on 1/13/2015, after the vehicle stalled on 1/9/2015 while driving 70 mph, and 1/13/2015 when accelerating to 50 mph. my vehicle was cleared to pick up on 1/24/2015 following service that included computer updates, physical inspection, and road testing. my vehicle stalled again on 2/5/2015 while driving on a highway entrance ramp. in all three cases, the vehicle started without assistance in about ten minutes. i immediately returned my vehicle to the dealership for service. i was informed that the service department would contact the manufacturer to send a technician to inspect my vehicle. they never did. on 3/6/2015, i contacted jeep customer service requesting additional help. my case was referred to a special case manager where my concerns were rudely dismissed. i have been contacted multiple times by the dealership to pick up my truck since 3/11/2015, despite the failure of the service department to identify what is causing the vehicle to stall. i do not feel the truck is safe to drive. i have a family and will not put them at risk because the dealership and manufacturer are being negligent. i will not pick up the vehicle until the problem is identified and repaired, or the vehicle is replaced. i have seen a similar case involving a 2013 jeep wrangler that stalls for unidentified reasons posted on the nhtsa web site. this also sounds similar to the recent gm recall due to defective ignition systems that resulted in stalling and caused numerous fatalities. thank you in advance for your assistance. *tr

Following the recall number n28/nhtsa 13v-234 and p61/nhtsa 14v-631 i took my car to potamkin's planet dodge chrysler jeep dealer in miami florida 33172 on march 13, 2015. they left the car there for one day and they gave me the receipt stating "transmission oil cooler tube - replace power steering tube, inspect transmission oil cooler tube, install protective sleeve and bleed power steering system" and also "heated power side view mirror wire harness - repair install new mirror connectors and water shields." i inspected the car myself after pickup and i noticed none of the repairs were done. i went back to the dealer on march 21, 2015 and i spoke with the service department manager, [xxx]. the car was inspected again and, in fact, no work had been done. they then installed the sleeve in the transmission oil cooler tube and he told me it was the only work needed. so the previous information on march 13, 2015 was fraudulent. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I had my jeep tire rotated and when driving away at 40 mph i felt a wobble. i took the vehicle back into the dealer and there we perfect cuts along the tires on the front. one is sliced and the other looks like sections were sliced off. it just seems very weird to me. *tr

This incident happened february 23, 2015 around 9am . it was snowing that day and the temperature was in the 20's. i was in the vehicle and had the defroster/heater turned up all the way. about 5 minutes later of sitting, i heard a popping noise. about a few seconds later of hearing this popping noise i slowly see a crack on the bottom of the driver side windshield just over 16 inches but no more than 2 feet long. i recently just moved from san diego and my jeep has never seen snow or had experience with the cold weather before. i went on wranglerforum.com (jeep enthusiast website) and that is where i found out that i wasn't alone. more jeeps had their windshield crack during the winter due to them turning the defroster/heater abruptly. i think there is a defect on the windshield or the insulation and needs to be addressed. chrysler/jeep had declined the warranty because they claim its from an external factor. and i assure you, i don't have a chip on my windshield. *tr

When i go to the gas station to fuel up, i engage the pump lock lever so the pump will fill up and shut off automatically when my gas tank is full. unfortunately, the fuel pump disengages too late, and an unbelievably excessive amount of fuel will spurt out, cascading down the side of my vehicle. 2 different dealerships have attempted to resolve the issue, yet the problem persists. i have filled up at gas stations across no less than 10 different states - from the west coast to the northeast; with a variety of fuel pump styles; amid various temperatures; yet the only variation is the velocity with which the fuel sprays from the pump. *tr

Extreme temps warming the jeep up and turned on the defrost. the windshield cracked in a circle type pattern then multiple long cracks along the entire bottom of the glass. vehicle was only a few months off the lot and no rock chips in the windshield. *tr

I was driving my 2013 jeep wrangler and the wiper was iced up so i turned the defroster on high and my windshield cracked. there were no vehicles on the road with me and nothing hit my windshield. the crack is about 6 inches long running laterally toward the driver side and originated right above the right defroster vent the crack has no external ridge and appears to be related to a body stress issue. the temperature was 20 degrees and the issue occurred at 3:20 pm. *tr

Several miles from home i crossed a bridge doing between 45 and 50 miles per hour and the jeep started bouncing and shaking so bad (like it had 4 square tires) and veering to the left. i had no control of the vehicle as the steering wheel was shaking so hard i had trouble holding onto it. i braked really slow and kept it on the road till it came to a stop. i had just met a vehicle on a two lane country road (which are not very wide and no shoulder) and was lucky there was no one else coming towards me, otherwise it would have been a serious/fatal accident. the dealership looked at only to tell me there was nothing wrong with the jeep and that i must did not know how to handle the vehicle on rough roads. my husband drove the jeep for several months and nothing every happened to him. october 26, 2014....once again i was cruising down a highway doing 71 mph and the jeep started bouncing all over the road......i did not hit a bump or anything. again felt like the jeep had 4 square tires and i ended up with 3 venti coffees all over the inside of jeep. several miles later crossing a bridge at 35 mph the jeep started shaking all over again. i left word with the salesmans as to what happened and once again the jeep went in only to be told there is nothing wrong with the jeep. today (jan.9, 2015) my husband was driving the jeep and crossed the same bridge when i had the first encounter with the shaking of the jeep........now he believes me that there is something wrong with the jeep. he called the salesman and told him what happened.......only to be told they would look into it. we are afraid to drive the jeep because one of these times we will not be so lucky as to walk away from an accident......we are afraid of us and another family getting killed. what does it take for this to be checked into seriously........someone or a whole family getting killed? *tr

The car began to idle roughly--it would rattle and shake just sitting at a red light. if i tried to just roll the vehicle slightly forward, it would stutter. check engine light came on, but the manual informs to wait a few drive cycles to see if it will just turn off. pulled the diagnostic code (p0306) and it was a cylinder 6 misfire issue. took car in on 9 dec 2014 and the entire left cylinder column was replaced. on 24 dec 2014, the same issues began to occur and the check engine light illuminated with the same diagnostic code. car will be taken in on 26 dec 2014 for service. *tr

At 50 mph i crossed a transition on an overpass at a 45 degree angel. the steering wheel shook so hard i could not keep my hands on it. i have heard of this issue called the "death wobble" but never experienced it. the way to stop it is to tap the breaks but i could not because i was on the interstate and there were cars behind me. it felt like the suspension had broken and i was going to pull over there were 2 lanes to the right with cars coming at highway speed. i made an appointment with the dealer and took my jeep in the next night. the confirmed they know all about the death wobble but refer to it as the steering damper issue. i called jeep and they filed an expedited claim process but did not call me back when promised. when i called again, they had someone call me the next working day. he said he has never heard of the issue. i questioned him about it and explained that it has been going on for years. he did not offer to do any thing. he had called the dealership but had the facts wrong. he is supposed to call me back. *tr

2013 jeep wrangler with 15k miles, manual transmission, vehicle parked in garage with the parking brake engaged, (handle pulled up 4 clicks). vehicle started and placed in neutral, allowed engine to run and exited for a brief moment, returned to find it rolling out of the garage and down my front driveway, crashing into a culvert in my front lawn. this is a serious and very dangerous design flaw with the parking brake by chrysler. i have been driving for 30 + years and have never had a vehicle not hold with the e-brake engaged, (maybe weak but will always hold on basically a flat surface such as a garage). this is obviously a known issue, there are many forums discussing it. i have acquaintances with new 2011-2014 jeep wranglers with the same parking brake not holding issue. i feel that it is important that people are made aware of this design flaw by chrysler. dealer contacted, they inspected and stated ?parking-brake working?, they would adjust but not covered under warranty (over 12k miles). the parking brake has been adjusted, but i always use a chock block on the wheel when parked. i do not trust the parking brake assembly on this jeep and feel there is a serious design flaw. with a standard transmission the parking brake has to be relied upon to hold the vehicle, this flaw inhibits safely leaving the vehicle while it is running. *tr

The air bag light should go off after 5 sec after starting my 2013 jeep wrangler, the light now has been staying on and doesn't go off, and if it does go off, it has been coming back on all the time on a regular bases, and will not go off.

The hill start assist malfunctions constantly, this can stall the engine when starting out in traffic and cause excessive ware on the brakes and clutch. there are 2 switches that tell the computer when the clutch pedal is pressed. one when you first start to press in the clutch and another that tells the computer when the clutch is pressed in all the way. the hill start assist is programmed to use the switch that tells the computer when you first start to press in the clutch instead of the switch that tells the computer when the clutch pedal is fully pressed. this causes the brakes to stay locked up even after the clutch is fully engaged when starting on a hill. the computer needs to be reprogrammed to release the brakes as soon as you start to release the clutch petal before the clutch fully engages. the hill start assist should use the same switch that tells the computer the clutch is fully pressed which is the same switch that is used to prevent the vehicle from starting in gear and not the switch that tells the computer when the pedal is lightly pressed which is the switch that turns off the cruise control. *tr

I have contacted multiple dealerships in the san antonio, tx and austin, tx metropolitan areas and all service centers refused to correct the safety recall in my vehicle. i have also complained to jeep and they indicate all dealerships are backed up with recalls and they are still trying to make the part. this issue has not been fixed for greater than 1 year. no one will help me and the vehicle was only a few months old when the safety recall was issued. *tr

The affected parts in my 2013 jeep wrangler unlimited is the transmission (mileage 27,200). this event has occurred several times since the first time it was taken into the dealership in april 2014. i will be driving and the vehicle will not shift into gear (i have an automatic transmission). doesn't matter how fast or slow i am going or if i am on flat and hilly roads. i will have to punch the gas and accelerate to 60-65 mph before the gear shifts. it scares me especially when i am only driving 30-40 mph. the rpm's will be up to 5000 and finally the vehicle will shift gears. the first time it was serviced for the problem (april 3, 2014) the mechanic did have the problem happen to him when driving my vehicle. they found a vacuum hose disconnected from the air-inlet elbow. once they fixed that it seemed like the problem subsided briefly(3 weeks) then right back to gears not shifting. i have taken back to the dealership 2 other times now and they can not find anything wrong, of course!!! i love my jeep, but feel very unsafe when driving it. i am not sure what i should do now, especially with the mechanic saying he cant find anything wrong. *tr

While driving my 2013 jeep wrangler, at cruising speed of 45 mph, the instrument panel started flashing random emergency icons. this flashing of the vehicles cluster along with speedometer and rpm gauge moving erratically continued for about 5 minutes until it stopped and only the traction control light remained on. i pulled over and turned off the vehicle. i restarted the vehicle, which seemed to fix the issue because the traction light turned off and everything seemed to be working. this is the first incident in which the lights flash continuously for several minutes, prior incidents had only flashed the cluster lights a couple of times and then they went back to normal. i contacted my dealership and they indicated they have only received reports of this issue on the jeep cherokee. *tr

I purchased the jeep wrangler new from david stanley jeep,in midwest city oklahoma. the vehicle had aftermarket wheels and tires on it before i purchased it. while taking the initial test drive i asked the salesman if the speedometer had been adjusted for the oversized tires. he assured me that it had because they would never sell anything that wasn't right. about a month after i purchased the vehicle i was pulled over for going 30 in a 25 zone. i had seen the police officer prior to being pulled over so i checked my speed and i knew i was going the correct speed. since that time i make it a habit to drive by the mobile speed radars that are placed around town and every time my speedometer is 5mph off. this is at a low speed so it will only get worse at a higher speed. i brought this to the dealer attention and they refused to fix it. i then sent a complaint to chrysler and they have refused to help as well. *tr

My wife and i had just left a local business mid-day on a warm dry summer day. was less than a block away and traveling slowly at approx 20 mph. applied brake as we rolled up to a stop sign. engine started to increase rpm on its own requiring evermore increasing brake pedal pressure in an attempt to come to a stop. standing on the brake pedal engine rpm reached 2500. i put the gear select into neutral. the brakes grabbed, the engine rpm shot up and returned to standard idle. i put the car in drive and car behaved normal after that. this has occurred approx 6 times over past year. took it to dealer twice with no resolution. floor mats secure and locked down. i drive right foot only and brake cleanly and square on the brake pedal. this only occurs at low speed, when engine is warm, and even squealed the tires ( burned rubber ) once. must slam into neutral to get it to stop. *tr

This is complaint related to safety recall notice n28/nhtsa 13v-234 (transmission oil cooler tube). last year i had received a safety recall notice n28/nhtsa 13v-234 from chrysler. as instructed in recall notice i scheduled an appointment with dealer- magnussens dodge chrysler jeep, located at 1901 grass valley hwy, auburn, ca 95603, ph (530)885-2900. on 02/05/2014, i brought my vehicle in to get safety recall repairs done. mr. brian evans #1028, who is a service advisor with magnussen, stated they did not have a required part. i found this situation rather strange. two weeks before my appointment i was reassured that part would be there. since i was already there with my vehicle i brought to his attention unrelated to safety recall notice mechanical issue (possible squeaking belt noise). after inspection of my 2013 jeep with 10k on odometer, they told me that it needs a new water pump? they replaced, free of charge, a water pump (invoice 189828). they hold my jeep in their shop for two days. communications with service advisor/department were horrible. i have to spend significant amount of time just to locate and contact their service manager in order to know when my vehicle will be ready for pick up. when i finally picked my jeep up on 02/07/2014 [xxx]. told me again that required transmission oil cooler tube would be there soon. he promised this replacement part ??will be reserved for my vehicle?? and he will contact me as soon as he gets it??. here we are in the beginning of month may?. i am still waiting to hear from magnussens dodge chrysler jeep. all my attempts to contact said service advisor went nowhere. moreover, thanks to magnussens i am driving this unsafe jeep every day. as of today no part replacement mandated by chrysler recall was done. now what? information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Safety recall n28/nhtsa 13v-234. i received this recall notice approximately august 2013. i immediately called for appointment. they had no parts. i was instructed to call again later. i have called again four more times....same response over 5 months. approximately at sixth month (february 2014) i physically went to dealer. they took my name and info...said they would order part and call me to make appointment for repair. i called two months later after not hearing from them and they had no record showing i came in. it has been nearly 8-9 months since recall notice and i cannot get them to cooperate or work with me to get it fixed! woe to them if/when my jeep catches fire or damages my jeep or causes injury. bought at secret city chrysler jeep in oak ridge, tn. my name:[xxx],[xxx]. [xxx]. their customer service has been terrible.....great before i purchased the jeep and upon negotiating sale, very disappointing after purchase was made....i suppose this being typical. several unrelated issues to recall notice already badly handled. *js

I have been regularly receiving a notice titled "safety recall n28/nhtsa 13v-234 transmission oil cooler tube" from chrysler many times for the past year. the dealership has not made any attempt to perform the recall even though i have often tried to scheduled it. they continually tell me that they cannot get the required parts from the factory, but when they do they will call me. i called the factory recall assistance center (1-800-853-1403) listed on the recall notice and the person who answered gave me the same story; "chrysler is having trouble getting the required parts from their supplier". i am certain chrysler has the ability to build anything, so the fact that they say they can't get some simple hoses built is a ridiculous excuse. it is clear that chrysler is not responding sincerely to this nhtsa recall. perhaps, like the chevy ignition key fob issue, cost vs safety is more important to yet another american automobile manufacturer. note that the chrysler notice did say that if the dealer fails to remedy the defect within a reasonable time to file a complaint at www.safercar.gov and this form is the only complaint form i could access from that site. if this is the wrong form please redirect my complaint to the correct location. *tr

On friday march 14, 2014 i was driving with my 1 year old daughter on harmony church road (route 704) on my way to my son's elementary school. my daughter was in a car seat in the back seat, directly behind the passenger seat. while en route, my 2013 jeep wrangler unlimited hit drifted to the shoulder of the road and the passenger side front tire was pulled into soft mud. i lost control of the vehicle. my vehicle was pulled to the right shoulder of the road and i went off the road. the vehicle struck a tree and various bushes. the loudoun county sheriff?s department and loudoun county fire and rescue responded to the scene. my husband and i recently put larger tires and rims on the jeep and a 3? lift kit. my husband commented that with the larger tires and the raised height, the jeep was more difficult to control on the road and i had noticed the vehicle visibly ?wander? on the road when i had followed my husband while he was driving the jeep. the sheriff?s department called my husband at home and he responded to the accident scene and took our daughter. i sustained injures in the collision, but my daughter was unharmed. the jeep?s airbags failed to deploy and i sustained a fractured nose, facial lacerations, facial contusions and a contusion to my sternum. i was taken by ambulance to leesburg hospital at 224 cornwall street. *tr

Went to dealership to have this issue fixed and was told they did not have the part to fix the problem. not only did they not have the part but chrysler allowed them to order one part every 14 days! this means they are fixing 2 jeeps a month! i live in va beach where there is an abundance of jeep vehicles and several large jeep dealerships. how on earth can you expect to have the issue corrected when there are only 2 vehicles being repaired monthly! i couldn't believe this foolishness and had to contact chrysler myself. bill confirmed they are only allowing dealerships 1 part every 14 days. why you ask? because they do not want to run out of stock! they are failing to make the parts available because they do not want to run out of stock! really? we are driving these vehicles that cost nearly $40,000! and endangering our lives because they don't want to deplete their stock. are they making the parts in somebody's basement?! if i get in an accident as a result of this complete incompetence chrysler will be held responsible. fyi! ridiculous!!!!! *tr

While driving from olympia wa. to marysville wa. i turned on the vehicle defroster and my windshield cracked. there is a small rock impact toward the bottom of the windshield and the crack extends from there. the nearest dealership is trying to sell me a $650.00 or more replacement windshield which will not crack and the chrysler corp will not return e-mails or assist over the phone. i believe they are using substandard windshields which will crack upon first impact where other vehicles will not. it poses as a safety issue limiting visibility due to not being able to run my defroster. when the defroster is run the crack expands. being in the military i personally can not afford to replace my windshield every time something bounces off of it. *tr

This website system does not seem particularly well-suited for this feedback. i have received repeated recall notices from chrysler regarding the transmission cooler tube. nhtsa 13v-234. on those forms, it requests that we log onto safercar.gov if the dealer fails to repair the defect within a reasonable time. i cannot find any place to register that complaint except here. i have received a series of harcopy mailings between perhaps september 2013 and current (mar 2014). they suggest i call a local jeep dealer to schedule a repair. each time i call the service department of the local jeep dealer, i get a different response, such as "we only have enough parts to repair vehicles on the east coast first. we will eventually call you when we have parts available to repair yours in colorado" the next time, the dealer said they still don't have parts, and that i must just keep calling back every week or so to see when they arrive. the third time i called they assured me that jeep will call me as soon as they are available. the fourth time the local dealer said they had no mechanism to contact me when parts become available, and the burden was indeed on me to keep calling. what a stupid system. my daughter also has a jeep (a 2003 gcherokee). she has undergone similar hassles with parts not being available for more than a year for a recall. each time she calls it is a different story. i don't know what the nhtsa believes is a "reasonable time". but it seems stupid to keep mailing me hardcopy recall notices if jeep doesn't have the parts or ability to make the repair. and when i call jeep, they should have a true and consistent story about what i need to do to get the repair completed. *tr

We received the recall notice on 1/9/14 (n28) that our transmission oil cooler tube needed to be replaced. i called our dealer to make an appointment and be sure that the part was available. i heard back from the dealer that the replacement tube was on back order, that chrysler was sending the parts to dealers in batches every three weeks, that i was now on a waiting list, and it could take months before i was able to have the recall repair completed, as chrysler was not providing the part to its dealers fast enough. i was told to call back every three weeks to find out my wait list status. when i asked what would happen if my transmission went out before the repair, the gentleman on the phone said that i could sue chrysler! if the nhtsa has required a recall by chrysler, chrysler needs to make these parts available quickly and, if i just received the recall notice, how can there be a waiting list for the part at my dealer? *tr

There has been an issue with my emergency brake since my jeep was new. it does not hold adequately, and must be pulled extremely tight to even engage at all. i have been told by the dealer that "that's just how they are." i don't believe this for one minute, and in fact find it insulting that chrysler expects consumers to believe this. i have never owned a vehicle where the emergency brake won't hold it. i have friends who drive wranglers too and they all say the same thing. design flaw? this is a safety issue when driving a manual and would love a functioning emergency brake. *tr

At the time i first tried out the vehicle & prior to purchase the battery was dead & it had to be "jump" started. i requested that a new battery be installed prior to delivery. i took delivery & about a week later went on vacation, did not take jeep. it was not driven for about 3 weeks. when i tried to start it the jeep would not start, as if the battery was dead. i jumped it & continued to drive it, every day for several weeks. after a few weeks, i let the vehicle sit for a day without starting and when i tried it would not start. 8/19/13 took jeep to the dealer to get problem with electrical system fixed. they tightened the negative battery terminal & reprogrammed one of the computers. 9/2/13 jeep would not start, had to jump it. did not run it or try to start it yesterday. 9/30/13 jeep would not start & when i jumped it the uconnect system would not work.. took it to dealer. they think the radio is drawing current from battery. they replaced radio. 10/21/13. jeep would not start after setting two days. took it back to jasper jeep. they are going to try putting a new battery in it under the assumption that the problem may be a battery post. service manager checked the records and could not find where a new battery had been installed prior to purchase. 12/30/13 9:15am tried to start jeep, it would not start. got clicking sound like low battery, interior dash lights were on. there was a new dash warning light on, it is a red lighting bolt. 9:38am. started it & after it was connected to "start car" for a minute it started. let it run for a couple minutes shut it off & it started ok. red lighting bolt not on. found service bulletin issued by chrysler, sept 2013. bulletin number: sb-08-067-13: nhtsa item number - 10053694 10:30 am called about the service bulletin. the serv. mgr. will review & call me back. *tr

On a 2013 jeep wrangler when the tailgate was opened on a slight incline the tailgate broke through the tailgate stopper that connects the vehicle body to the tailgate and bent the hinges that hold the tailgate. jeep dealer said the cause was our negligence. this is a brand new jeep. negligence--you have to be kidding. we simply opened the tailgate and the hinges are so poorly designed they did hot prevent the tailgate from bending the hinges. dealer simply replaced the tailgate stop at our expense but did not replace the hinges. three months later we opened the tailgate in our garage and the tailgate stopper broke again. this time the dealer replace the tailgate stop, the plastic hinge covers and the hinges again at our expense. this is a known defect documented numerous times on jeep forums and yet jeep won't acknowledge a poor design of the tailgate hinges and do the repairs under warranty.

While backing out of a parking space, i was moving the shifter to reverse and heard a clunk sound. it was not a smooth shift. immediately the check engine light came on. i backed the vehicle out of space and move the automatic shifter to drive and heard another clunking noise. the check engine light stayed on. as i tried to pick up speed the transmission would not shift and the rpm's went higher and higher. we drove the car up to 40 mph and the transmission would not shift. so we decided to take the car home and not operate the vehicle as the transmission was not shifting properly or not at all. *tr

I was all most injured/killed by 2013 jeep wrangler with 6300 miles on it when the airbag deployed on its own and caught on fire. on sep 16 2013 at 2100 my jeep was caught in a rain shower with the top and doors off for about 15 minutes before i got off work, i drove it home in the rain and put it in the garage to dry off, it was not that wet so i thought i would just let it air dry,my drive home was a little over four miles. around 2200 i was in bed on the phone when i loud bag (gun shot i thought) went off in my garage and i jumped to clear my home, as i got to the garage i seen that my airbag went off and the garage ceiling was full of smoke. the steering column was also smoking (i thought it was on fire) i got it out of my garage asp,so it did burn down my home and called 911. the fire dept came and said it was out and i left it out side i covered it up with a car cover for the night. i the morning i called the 800 # to jeep and get it towed to jeep dealership. after a week jeep hired inspector to read the computer. jeep notified me that they will not say why it went off and it not there problem. please help me with this to keep others from getting injured or killed by a faulty components note this is a jeep wrangler the is trail rated. *tr

On july 19th 2013 i was waiting for the light big garbage container truck hit my back and the force i hit infront of my vehicle injuring a passenger . this was a multi vehicle accident ,i was in the middle hit from my back and my front hit infront of my vehicle. during this impact my vehicle's airbag did not deploy it. i complained to chrysler ,they issue a case#[xxx] and investigate the accident. according to chrysler they send to technician to take a sensor data from my vehicle and send to detroit for further analysis. couple of weeks ago i received letter from chrysler group llc. the letter contents are the purpose of the airbag is to deploy in those impacts where the accident severity is great enough and the front-end crush cannot manage all of the energy of the impact and lower the longitudinal (front to back) deceleration in the occupant compartment to the desired levels. my case i have front and back impact,my vehicle alone $17000.00+ damage. chrysler refused to release the report to me unless i have a legal representative. how can i find that airbag wasn't malfunctioning and what g-force that truck hit me. if you need any information regarding these accident i will assist you with best of my knowledge. *tr

Traveling straight when hit bump in road, loss of steering occurred which propelled vehicle into parked car and then small brick wall in front lawn/driveway. car was a total loss. *tr

2013 jeep wrangler rubicon, caught fire after coming off of a highway. traveling under 30 mph, i saw flames underneath the jeep behind me ( my friends jeep ). by the time i noticed it was a ball of flame. i immidiately slamed on the brakes and waved him down. he could barely stop because his brakes also went out( he said the abs light flipped on) my other friend jumped out of the vehicle i was traveling in and attempted help said friend in the wrangler. same friend had a giant bucket of water in his bed of the truck i was driving. i grabbed it and ran to the wrangler. i looked underneath the jeep, the flames were smaller and i could see that the origin was on top of the transmission. there was nothing i could do, i didn't have a cup or a device to scoop water to put the fire out. at this time i realized that this was a form of chemical fire. so water would have made it worse. we evacuated the area since it was so close to the gas tank. i called the on base cops and the fire trucks were there within 10. at this time the interrior was on fire, they attemped to put the fire out but the gas tank had ruptured. about 8 gallons of gas was on its way out of the tank. it took 2, 000 gallons, 2 trucks, 6 fire extuinguishers, and an unknown refill of water from another water truck to both fire trucks to put the fire out! i have 90% of everything on video. including the after affects! *tr

Brand new vehicle, after 6,000 miles check engine light comes on, take it in, they have it for a month, had to replace heads. get it back, now at 50,000 miles the heads have to be replaced again, but this time they say drive it. it will cut out of power and run very rough, but they keep telling me its ok. i talked to a mechanic that works there, and he said it is happening all over the country and that they are on back order for the heads and cant keep up with all the demand. all 2013 jeeps have this problem, most just go in and they flash the code, and send them on their way. i am on a jeep forum, and they all have the same problem. what are my rights if it happens a third time. i don't want the same defective motor put in it. *tr

Since the day i bought the vehicle new while applying the parking brake it seems as though you hit a void or that it slips over like there is a stripped gear. i took it to the dealership for service and was told "they all do that, its not uncommon and nothing to worry about" but i have recently noticed that if it stops on the void the parking brake does not hold the vehicle in place and it rolls. i am wanting to take it in for service but not sure if this is a good idea right now until i have a complaint filed and have it check out by another source as i am worried that i will get the same answer. i know chrysler issued recall for a similar problem but this vehicle was not included in that recall. i want everyone that has this type of vehicle to be aware of this problem since "its common and they all do it". *tr

3 months after purchasing my brand new jeep i received a crack in the windshield at a speed of 40 mph city driving. i think it was a small stone by the sound of impact. one month after that my jeep being 4 months old, i received another crack in the windshield while freeway driving at a speed of 60 mph, again i think a small stone hit the windshield by the sound of impact. a month later and 5 months old i received another crack in the windshield while city driving at a speed of 45 mph, again i think a small stone hit the windshield by the sound of impact. my jeep mileage on the final crack at 5 months was 8,400 miles. i have only heard 3 stones hit my windshield, with each impact my windshield was cracked. these cracks are severe with minimal impact and obstruct visibility. there is an obvious issue with the quality of the glass/windshield in my jeep. i have owned many vehicles without receiving one cracked windshield under the exact driving conditions over an average 5 year vehicle ownership. i cannot afford or be expected to replace a windshield every month and therefore this issue is a major safety concern. *tr

While traveling down a highway at 55, i adjusted my position in the seat. the vehicle was in cruise control. i placed my feet on the carpet in front of the seat and pushed myself up and back into the seat to adjust my comfort and position. the carpet and carpet mat went up into the brake and accelerator pedals. the vehicle began to accelerate. with my feet i pulled the carpet and the mat back and out of the pedals. stopped the vehicle and moved off to the side of the highway. i got out of the vehicle to see the cause. the driver side carpet is a separate piece of carpet with a mat attached by a hook that is part of the carpet. the carpet does not seem to have any backing. it looks spun. the driver position carpet is a separate piece that terminates about 6 to 10 inches under the driver€™s seat. the carpet has holes that allow the driver seat frame to attach to the floor of the vehicle without clamping the carpet down. there is no clamping force holding the carpet down under the driver seat. the carpet end under the seat is placed under the carpet coming from the back seat. i did not notice any attachment between the front and back carpet to hold the carpet in place. my action of push with my feet to adjust my comfort and position ripped the carpet on the outside edge by the driver side door and stretched the carpet on the right side, which let the left side of the carpet to move up into the break and accelerator pedals. i replaced carpet mat with the hard molded rubber mats. these mats seem to keep the carpet and mats from moving up into the pedals. the mats and carpet still shift forward and i have to adjust them when the carpet gets too far forward. *tr

Airbag light is on, cruise control (as well as all other controls mounted on the steering wheel) are inoperable. this was gradual; i noticed cruise control didn't work first, then the rest of the controls including the airbag stopped shortly after. this was during highway driving (a coast-to-coast road trip).

Emergency brake does not hold the vehicle causing roll back when parked. the vehicle rolled back in my driveway running into a tree and fence at slow speed.

At approximately 60k miles my 2013 jeep wrangler sport unlimited started "stalling" inexplicably. when this happens you lose all throttle control, and your power steering. which can be challenging when your in the left hand lane of a four lane interstate going 65mph. this caused a tractor trailor to jack knife and slide down the interstate... luckily, i and the few others on the road at the time survived. after taking my vehicle in for the fifth time for the same problem i started researching myself. i was shocked to find it appears to be an epidemic problem with the 12-14 jeeps with the new pentastar engines. it also appears that no fca/jeep dealership in the country has figured it out. if those were the first with the new motor, it stands to reason if it doesn't appear there is a fix, that it will continue. and i can tell you from personal experience, people are going to die from this safety issue. this typically happens when down shifting to get power, or when shifting into gear after backing out of a parking stall. the throttle is lost completely and the power steering as well. you can try to crank the vehicle, but it will not start until after about five to ten minutes. it will then start up and drive like nothing happened. no codes are shown and dealerships have no way to identify the problem unless they can replicate it. that would be the beginning anyway. some serious effort needs to be put into this, again, it doesn't appear to be being addressed, and it will only get worse as the jeeps from 2012 on get older and get to the 60k range.

I was rear ended as i was slowing down for another accident in front of me,when my jeep got rear ended the motor speeded up as i was pushing down on the brake pedal. i could feel the abs working .only after i hit the gear shift out of gear did my jeep stop. my engine continue to run at a very high rpm. only after i shut everything off and restarted need the engine run normal. *tr

I have now received three recall notices on my 2013 jeep wrangler unlimited. these notices describe a problem with the transmission that could result in crash if not fixed timely. the problem is that chrysler corporation is not providing the dealerships with the parts necessary to fix the problem. why would chrysler not provide the necessary parts to fix a problem before a crash or major transmission problem. the knowledge of this recall and my inability to get it fixed in spite of several attempts to schedule the required repairs at my local dealers has caused me a great deal of stress and anxiety as there is always lurking in the back of my mind the possibility of having a catastrophic mechanical problem resulting in a sudden crash and possibly injury or death to my family and me. please resolve these issues immediately. *tr
