Multiple failures!
Coolant system faulty; cheap plastic on housing breaks easily causing loss of coolant and overheating; replaced thermostat, sensors, housing x2, hoses.
Power engine failure; loss of power during driving at various times. Ongoing.
Service stability track repeatedly. Ignition issue-if key in car it will start itself and run. Ongoing issue. Replaced thermostat and sensors again due to fan on high and super loud and runs constantly as soon as car started. AC now will not work bc of this issue somehow related to fan issue. Engine light has been on nonstop. Mechanics don’t even know where to begin and I’m sick of putting money into this lemon. Chevy knows of these problem and does not care. Says I have 0 recalls for this car. Will never buy another Chevy. Shame on you GM! Totally disgusted.

Other = transmission

Vehicle has been in for repairs multiple times for brakes, transmission, and most recently engine and emissions problems. Staff has repeatedly told us there is nothing wrong with the vehicle since we purchased it from CarMax on 9/17/2016, however some of the the problems are recurring and can lead to safety issues. (In one instance the brakes were actually smoking/overheated just after driving a short distance.) We have incurred repair costs and rental car fees, not to mention the inconvenience associated with the constant issues with this vehicle. We have several pages of documents as evidence of these issues. Luckily we had purchased the extended warranty offered by CarMax, but the number of times this vehicle has been in for service is a bit extreme. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Often when I slow down or stop, i.e. when I downshift into second gear or when I make a sudden stop the engine stops. This doesn’t happen all the time but frequently enough. I have taken the car into service and the mechanics have found nothing wrong. Here’smy problem. I am 65 years old and have driven a manual transmission car for all but four of my driving years. I learned to drive on a three on a tree Ford. I consider myself a very good, knowledgeable and savvy driver. I have NEVER had these sudden stop problems happen before. The car dies when I am driving, notably when I have to downshift. My wife, who can drive a manual with equal aplomb, wants nothing to do with driving the Cruze. Thanks for listening.

The problem i'm having is when i have my heat turned on i will get a smell of like burnt oil coming through my air vents. i was told it was something to do with the crankshaft but the last time i was told it was something with the valve cover gasket. i can smell it more once i have come to a stop after driving.

My car is a danger the engine power slows down when driving causing another to hit in the back power steering light displays, stabilize tract and engine power, i have already had one hit and run accident.i took car to chevrolet dealership harbison rd columbia sc they just half repair it someone may die if car continue to power down.

When key left in ignition, car off, it tries to start itself repeatedly. saw this has been reported by others for years but no recall. ignition cylinder needs to be replaced to stop shorts. why no recall? car was parked, turned off.

My vehicle started losing pressure upon having it checked i was informed that the turbine in the engine was defective and blowing out the old from my injun my car is rendered useless due to the fact that this turbine was part of chevy's recall in my car having been at chevy dealerships it was never addressed. i need my car fixed as soon as possible it is my only means of transportation.

At random times, my stereo will go blank, no sound, no blinker sounds, nothing. at the same time, the service traction control, service stabitrax will start flashing on and off. my power steering will cut off as well. this will happen a few times while driving then it will not happen again. then randomly on a different day, it will happen again.

I have a 2013 chevy cruze 1.4l turbo. the past month or so when i am driving on an incline or hill it loses power and the traction control light and stability control light comes on and the check engine light flashes. about a week ago i was coming home from class and my car lost power and almost got smashed by a semi and today it lost power and almost got rear ended. have had several mechanics look at it and they can find the problem.

It’s been sitting for awhile now. i’ve replaced the engine, the battery, the alternator, the starter, the thermostat and the tensioner belt. all brand new and it’s still not starting up . it acts like it wants to start over but doesn’t, even without the keys in ignition, if i hook up spark plugs it acts like it wants to start even without the keys in ignition

I was driving on a residential street and noticed my check engine light appear and went and got a check engine diagnosis done and popped as a code p2076 which is the intake manifold tuning valve position sensor/ switch circuit range/performance. which isn't the first time this has came on. when i first bought the car from the dealership it happened twice before and was covered by the warranty but now i'm surpassed the warranty and just feel like this shouldn't be an issue once again.

Has an internal engine and cooling problems exhaust gas entering the cooling system i believe he knew about this issue and still sold me the car anyway. i told him that the water in the tank was bubbling and he said nothing was wrong with the car. and now the engine gasket is blown and the car is overheating

Driving last night from work to home at [xxx] around 7pm, i started getting messages in my cluster such as service stabilitrak, service traction control and engine power is reduced. just suddenly my car lost all the power and throttle when i was travelling in a highway around 70 mph on the second fastest lane. it was very scary and dangerous situation once my throttle was complete unresponsive and could find myself at the middle of the highway at 5mph . my instinct was to turn on the hazard lights and try to move the car to the slowest lane as safe as possible. i feel lucky that no one hit me in the back and i consider that i was lucky to have this problem at this time of the evening. luckily i was able to take the exit [xxx] and from there park the car to evaluate it. i could not find any visible defect either internally or on engine compartment. i turned off the engine and on several times and still had the same cluster messages and derated power. i was still able to drive the car safely to the parking lot of [xxx] looking for a safer place to wait for my insurance company. when waiting for the aaa operator i was able to re-start the car with no display message but only with the engine check light on. i drove the car in the parking lot and noticed the car seemed to be ok. once on that time i was still waiting for the aaa operator i decided to take [xxx] and i was able to safe arrive home. checking the symptom i had in google and youtube i learned about the problem with the negative battery cable which is already known by nhtsa and gm. i hope my incidence can be investigated and a decision for recall be taken.i don't see any difference to what experienced with the ignition switch topic therefore this issue should be considered as potential recall. parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My 20 yr old daughter bought this car in may 2020. she had it 1 week and ended up broken down on the side of the road the interstate, 3-1/2 hrs away at school because the catalytic converter went out. 2 weeks and a new catalytic converter, i am on the side of the road because she couldn't stay and wait for it, and we wouldn't let her take it until we knew it was right. another 4 weeks later, replaced the motor and catalytic converter again, and the check engine light comes back on within 2 weeks and leaves me stranded on the highway once again! this time the reading showed only an o2 sensor so my husband changed it. the car ran fine for a while, then the check engine light came back on. not long after this, the stabilitrak warning light also came on and so there are 13 error codes coming up! we have always been a chevrolet family, but not anymore! this has ruined us! and when/if we can get it running well enough to get rid of it, it is gone! the error codes attached are from july & september 2020. i didn't get a picture the last couple of times that my husband checked it. general motors there are hundreds of complaints. and that's just the ones who actually take the time to hunt the nhtsa down and file a complaint. not everyone will do so! i personally know of at least one other person in my hometown (of less than 20,000) that owns a 2013 cruze that is having the exact same problems! i know we are just little people to you. but these are our lives! if we could afford to drive a high-priced, top-of-the-line vehicle, trust me, we would!

Car continually over heats and now the turbo bad

Car has leaked oil and coolant since i got it. constantly over heats. loss of power. engine revs and jumps. constant replacements nothing works.

My transmission started slipping while driving to work on the highway at 70 mph. the car gave me 2 warnings, one for the traction control needing serviced and one for the transmission needing serviced. i drove the car to my dealer explained the problem to the dealer and stated that i didn't think i was going to make it to them. the dealership service center let the car sit for a few hours and then checked for codes and mysteriously could not find any problem. the problem always starts when the vehicle is going up hill, the transmission lights starts blinking, the car starts sputtering and i lose speed very unsafe in traffic! when sitting at a stop light with the brake pedal mashed to the floor the car lunges forward. i have searched online for similar problems and have found that many cruze owners are having the same problem and gm refuses to help there does seem to be an associated recall but it doesn't state the transmission problem in the discription. (nhtsa 16v502000) power train:automatic transmission:control module (tcm, pcm). the service centers can't fix the problem because the car is not showing any codes when they check and i'm always sent home.

While accelerating on city streets, the transmission went into the fourth gear and hesitated to go any faster. i then stopped accelerating but then the transmission slammed into the third gear and revved high until i pushed on the brakes and the transmission slammed back into the fourth gear. this isn't the first occurrence. i haven't taken the vehicle to the dealership for servicing.

Just bought the vehicle and was driving and kept hearing a clunking noise in the front end and noticed the from rotors was indicating replacement so took backto dealer and they also found that the front stabilizer link on drivers side was snapped in half causing outer tie rod needing replacement and could of caused a crash as you would lose control of vehicle once outer tir rod disconnected.

Roughly 6 weeks after purchasing this vehicle, i started having incidents where the radio would cut out for 2-3 seconds and the infotainment screen would go blank. at the same time, the "service stabilitrak" message momentarily appears on the instrument panel. there isn't a trend to when this happens. sometimes it won't happen for a week, other times it will happen multiple times in a single drive. last week, this happened and i also lost power steering and could not steer for what felt like a couple seconds. based on the chevrolet cruze customer forum, this is a fairly common problem and other's have also lost power steering pulling out of a parking lot. there is not a recall for my specific vehicle or a permanent corrective action that i've found. it has become a safety concern and gm should take responsibility and recall the affected vehicles before power steering is lost at higher speeds.

Since purchasing my car it has done strange things with what i thought was the breaks. when stopping at a light etc.. the car will jump forward.. sometimes only once and others it does it over and over until i accelerate again. i took it to the dealership where i purchased it. david maus in sandford fl. the service tech took a ride with me.. he stated that he's heard this from other chevy cruze owners and it's just what these cars do. it did demonstrate the jumping, thrusting forward while the service tech was driving. i was not happy with this answer but believed he knew what he was talking about. yesterday i get in my car and it will hardly go. the service stabiltack light was on. then every light on the dash came on. obviously i understand things go bad on cars as it's 4 years old. but after reading hundreds of these complaints online i believe this is a problem with these cars that can be dangerous. and it's unbelievable to me that there is no recall after all the reports and complaints. when it jumps hops thrust forward you never know if it's going to be a little or a lot. this problem has been ongoing with no help from the certified mechanics. i put the date as 2013 because as i said it's been on going and now it's completely broken. which could have been prevented had the mechanics helped me in 2013

Got into a very minor fender bender and the car went up in flames. air bags never deployed because i wasn't going fast enough. but yet my car burned.

While driving, power steering locked up, car turned off and then back on. the radio turned off and then back on and close driver window lit up. this has happened on 4 different occasions now. steering locked up while on i-95. radio on and off while turning onto highway and window message while car was stationary.

My ignition key broke off during driving. the car was shut off and i could have died by hitting the railing. i called my local dealership and the service lady said she has seen this happen many times. the keys metal broke off. the keys are made of some kind of cheap metal. this is a safety hazzard. please help those on the road avoid a catastophy.

While driving to work on the highway my radio will turn off and on multiple times and my stability control will turn off and it will be hard to turn the vehical. a warning comes on the information screen saying check stability control and also check power steering. it has happened multiple times it have happened today as well as i was driving on the feeder

I was driving on the interstate and the car lost all power in a very remote part on the interstate. this was at 9 o'clock pm on a sunday. the car would not accelerate past 5 mph. had to take the battery connectors off to clear the codes and then was able to slowly drive home. could not go more than 50 mph or the engine would jump and the car would decelerate. again, i was on i-10, at 9pm, 6 hours away from home. when i got back to town, i took the car to get serviced and when i got the car back the first time, i pulled out into traffic and the car still would not accelerate. took the car back to the dealership and when they said it was ready for pickup, the check engine light came back on. left the car at the dealership to get serviced again. picked up the car this past saturday and when i went to drive it on sunday, the check engine light came back on. will be dropping the car off again at the dealership after work.

At first, i started the car one day and the engine light came up and as i tried to put the transmission in d the "d" light started flashing (not steady as normal) and there was some noise from the transmission. i put it back to "p" and turned the car off and started it again. then it acted normally. later on, it happened suddenly while i was driving (the transmission snapped and the "d" light started flashing). i took it to the dealer for diagnosis, and they found that the transmission control module (tcm) was defective. i searched online and found that there were many recalls on the tcm for 2012 & 2013 chevy cruze, but mine was not identified in those recalls as per the dealer. i was under the impression that gm will investigate the case and feed me back, but i found out today that they do not do investigations unless it comes from the nhtsa.

Radio console gets real hot to touch. goes away then gets hot again. yearly problem. dont want fire hazard. is this normal? vehicle required extensive recalls since purchase in 2013.

Looking for a recall nothing ? a lot of road noise from tires on a 2013 chevy cruz with 31000 miles

"service side detection system" error messages - 2 body modules bad and already replaced once. module failure causes additional cascading failures throughout the rest of the system and affects dash controls/turn-signals, mpg, fuel calculations & now "my link" screen blank with "service parking asst message on dash. since mylink screen dead, radio dials/controls do not work and cannot see/control heating controls and navigation screen dead as well. these same two side modules were already replaced once under warranty, but since vehicle is now over on mileage, i am left on my own to pay for repairs. modules get basically one winter season here in the northeast and need to be replaced. malfunctions cause cascading failures throughout rest of electrical system and make certain vehicle systems and safety functions inoperable. i contacted gm customer care and basically they said there is no assistance available because it is "not a known concern" on this vehicle. module location is behind rear wheels in bumper cover area, and are open to the elements and poorly sealed. water/salt water seemingly easily penetrates these modules and causes them to fail. because they are directly tied into the rest of the electrical system, when they do fail it causes cascading failures throughout the rest of the system seemingly at random. (some of the systems are critical to vehicle safety and operation.

While i was driving in my community the car shut itself off and turned back on. this locked my steering wheel almost causing an accident.

3/22 -- on my way to work (a brief 5-mile drive), the “check engine” light came on and a warning about the stabilitrak system appeared on my dashboard display screen. the engine power was automatically reduced, and my car would not go beyond 25-30 miles per hour. fortunately, i had exited the highway and had just turned left onto a surface street. at the time, it was raining, but not heavily. this was the first time that i had started my car that day, so the engine was fresh. i was able to make it to work; however, when i left work a couple of hours later, the “check engine” light and stabilitrak warning were still displayed. i drove straight home. 3/23 -- when i started my car, the “check engine” light and stabilitrak warning were still displayed. i ran a couple of errands around town, and nothing changed. i decided to “rest” my car for a day or two while i researched the situation and figured out a plan. 3/25 -- when i started my car, the check engine light was still on, but the stabilitrak warning was gone (i.e., my dashboard display appeared as it normally would, except for the “check engine” light). after i had driven my car to make a couple of stops around town, the stabilitrak light came back on. 3/26 -- there were no warning lights displayed at all when i started my car; i was able to drive my car around town during the morning with no warning lights coming back on. 3/27 -- when i drove to work, the “check engine” light and stabilitrak warning were not on when i started my car; however, they did came back on just as i arrived at work (about 5 minutes after i had started my car). for safety reasons, regardless of whether the warning lights are displayed or not, i have taken care to drive only when i absolutely need to, only on surface streets, and with my speed at or below 25 mph. this is obviously not sustainable long-term.

My chevy cruze stability track control system malfunctions and my car loses power and i lose steering control and must pull over on the freeway. it has happened 5 times. plus my stereo goes out. my chevy dealer said it is not covered because my warranty has expired. must pay over $400 to repair the faulty indicator. this is a huge safety problem because it can happen when i am on the freeway going 65 mph and my car decelerates down to 40 mph and i could crash? it has happened twice on the freeway and three times on the city street.

I have taken my car in with the check engine light. they said it was due to a oil cap. i called and they informed me that they could not find anything wrong. since then the engine light has been on and off and now the traction control light is on and the engine revs very high.

Heater has a very strong odor of coolant when turned on that i have to keep my car windows down a little when using heater. i noticed this when i acquired it from my son in july of 2016. he had purchased this one and another one at the same time brand new in 2013 and had this problem with both cars.

Air conditioning is not working correctly. it blows well but will not cool. i can feel some coolness out of passenger side but driver side is hot air. if you turn the fan knob to low then both sides will cool but it is not enough to cool anything. have had it checked and there is plenty of coolant. it started july of 2016 so i drove it very little it is much worse this summer july of 2017. its the same result driving or stationary. in the early morning if it's cool outside it does get cooler but as the day gets warmer so does the air coming out of the air conditioning vents.

Stopped on hill car in drive after a few seconds starts rolling backwards.

Engine light came on , auto zone ran it and code p0299. states it the turbo/ super charger underboost. 81,000 miles. i have only had this vehicle 18 months. i don't race around town in it.

While driving the vehicle power stability flashes the electrical system resets and if driving you lose control of the vehicle.

Owner drives the vehicle for 10 miles or greater and after parking for several minutes the vehicle has a burning smell inside. it remains for days at a time even if the vehicle has not been driven. this has occurred since ownership. second problem; brakes lock up after the car is washed and parked for a few minutes. remedy is to step on the accelerator with the vehicle in gear (drive or reverse) and prepare to brake immediately. it took 1000 rpm's to get the brakes released this time. it happens each time the car is washed in a stationary position. mileage is 27,000.

I noticed my car was "sputtering". after multiple attempts trying to find out what was wrong with no attempts all it did was get worse. it felt like my car was suffocating. it got to the point where it was chugging the whole way home from my employment. opened the hood while it was running and it appeared a spark plug was arching. after removing the coil pack to get to the spark plugs one of the boots completely fell apart while trying to remove it. it was then the coils were looked at, 3 out of 4 were corrosion and so we're there casings. the whole section now needs to be replaced on a car with less than 80,000 miles.

Less than 2 months after the warranty expired the window regulator center piece on the drivers side broke when using the power window control to roll the window back up. this vehicle has no circumstances that would cause this part to fail besides it being a faulty part. the window is stuck in the down position and the part has to be ordered from out of state. the repair cost is in excess of $300 which i should be reimbursed for. the vehicle was stationary at a drive through window at the time of failure.

This is a recurring issue that has been going on with my car since the lights came on the fist time. the dealership acts as if i don't know what i am talking about. i have wasted so much gas and i transport children with autism at times in va dc and md. i have consistently complained about the sticking throttle or engine misfire. please i fear for the safety of my clients and my family.

There have been two times when i have been pulling out of a parking lot and the engine died. nothing showed on dash. i put the car in park and restarted and it started back up. took the car to the dealer and they indicated that there weren't any codes showing and if it happened again to bring the car back. happened again last night, same situation. nothing showing on dash. also sometimes seems to hesitate when accelerating.

There is a defect in the reservoir that holds the coolant that makes it unable to breath. the coolant is bubbling inside the reservoir because it isn't able to release the pressure which in turn is making the cars overheat. the manufacture just sees this normal but there are many videos on the internet off people going through the same thing.

I have two complaints on my vehicle, 1.several times the vehicle went into a loss of engine power mode where it was in an idle position with no ability to accelerate, the display showed loss of engine power, no stabiltrack and check engine light. the vehicle would transition to a loss of power mode on the main road, i had to turn the engine off, wait about 60 seconds and restart, my power was restored, this happened on 3 occasions. 2. the second complaint is regarding the low coolant level, i brought the vehicle to a certified dealer and they put the coolant system under pressure and detected no leak, they added coolant since it was very low and asked me to leave the car with them for a day or two and suggested it may be the radiator. i refused and asked them to add a dye to the system that would indicate the leak path and i would return the next day, they refused.

Hi there, i purchased a cruze 3.5 years ago in canada because i am a canadian citizen. i have moved to the usa (nj) to live with my wife. she is a us citizen. we have contacted gm about getting a letter of conformity which they did supply us with. however, it does not conform to fmvss standards. the letter does not include which standards are not met and gm does not have record of what doesn't comply. i would like to get my car imported to the usa but without that information, i don't know what needs to be fixed. i have contacted several ri's throughout ny, 1 in nj and 1 in pa and none of them are willing to do the work (i assume that because they don't get back to me on scheduling it in). please help me find out what needs to be fixed on my car so i can import it to the usa and register it here. thank you! the car is us epa certified, and cmvss certified (with stamps). i entered the usa on a temporary driving basis for 1 year.

I have had an issue with the valve cover gasket needing to be replace due to oil leakage twice within a year. i will start noticing burt oil smell only on the inside of the car through the air vents. there havnt been any leakage on the ground as far as i see. this can't possibly be normal. i currently have to put my car in the shop for this issue.

The car has some kind of electrical problems. the check engine light goes on and i take the car back to the dealer and get problems fixed, and within a month the check engine light comes on again, and there are new problems with the car. when those problems get fixed, the check engine light comes on again within a month. this is a cycle that keeps going. the check engine light comes on at different times, usually while driving. i believe the electrical system is causing cascading failures in different systems.

Starting smelling a very strong smell everytime i would turn on the heater and air. had this smell one time before and cost me right at $700.00 dollars to fix. now this is going to cost me right at $1500.00 dollars to fix. the smell is making me sick to my stomach. can't beleive this is happening.

While driving today, it began to rain, my driver side wiper was working, then 3 mins into it being on, it stopped. car has ~87500k miles. i accessed the wiper arm linkage, and it had the driver arm bushing had worn out.

While driving in the city street the check engine light came on and started flashing. the traction control light came on followed by a message in the dashboard stating “stabilitytack” was not working. the vehicle then began shaking and was not able to shift gears properly. the rpm was having to rev harder than usual to keep the vehicle up to speed. i had to pull over to the side of the street and turn the car off. neither idling or shutting of the vehicle helped with the problem.

June 2020 - car began popping up with the alert "a/c off due to high engine temp" - upon checking the car had coolant so replaced the thermostat. july 2020 the issue kept occurring and i began having to put coolant in the vehicle every few days. took to another shop who said it was leaking from a hose - replaced hoses. aug 2020 - issue continued and then stopped holding water all together - had to replace water pump, rez, thermostat, and various belts/hoses - drove the car for three days when the message popped up again. took it back to the shop and was told that (despite it being 1 owner car) "someone" had put stop leak in it and it made the thermostat stick. they flushed the engine and replaced the thermostat again and the car drove for 1 week before the issue kept occurring. this time it started having trouble cranking and caused a blown head gasket. so now after 8 months and $3,500 i have replaced everything that could possibly make it overheat/have a coolant issue and had the entire engine rebuilt - hopefully this time it fixes the issue. this is a known issue and needs to be addressed.

At random car will idle up and down and rpms will jump. this happens when just cranked and after driven and sitting still in idle. also, at random when trying to crank the car it seems to get stuck and i will have to return the ignition in order to get the motor to fully turn over.

The car was parked. i started it and 2 minutes later i got 3 messages "engine power is reduced" "service traction control" "service stabili trak" and the engine light came on, it wouldn't go more than 5mph. so then i parked again, thank god i didn't even leave the parking lot of that building. so then i turned it off and let it rest for about 10 minutes and then started it back on and the messages disappeared and it was running "fine" the gas pedal felt a little hard when trying to accelerate. next day same thing but this time while i was on the high way, i use i-88 to go to work every day and this is very dangerous, going from 65-70 mph to 10 mph and if someone would've been behind me they could've hit me. this is very scary and sometimes i work late shifts and with this cold weather having to turn the engine off for it to "run" again is horrible. i was freezing to death. i have read hundreds of comments from people who have had the same problem and same codes, and i think gm should have a recall for this, because it's a manufacturer problem and they should fix it. today i am taking it to a chevy dealer and see what happens. hopefully this helps to have enough proof of this issue.

Recall: n202299080 the cracks in the faulty pcv valve prevented proper air intake and pressurization to and from the intake engine. because the vehicle has been operating under these strenuous improper conditions, the turbo has not been able to spool properly in accordance with its design and has also become defective/in need of replacement. faulty pressurization does not only affect the pcv valve, but the components on either side of the valve and their processes as well. my 2013 chevy cruze not only stalls in the middle of the street, but dies there and is a huge safety hazard to both my family and those we share the road with. this vehicle has never been in an accident or had any other complications, except for this faulty pcv valve. the condition has exposed my turbo and engine to irregular unwarranted propulsion mechanisms. gm is hoping we’re ignorant enough to cover those costs on our own. this is wrong. their faulty part triggered a series of safety hazards and complications. they need to be held accountable, we cannot sit back or turn a blind eye in their direction. we need to stand up for each other and speak out. thank you for making our safety concerns your priority!

I have an 2013 chevy cruze 2lt 1.4l engine. i discovered an oil leak upon my last oil change at 55,000 miles. recently i discovered a second oil leak at the valve cover at 60,000 miles. i took it to the chevy dealership to have diagnosed and they confirmed a multi location oil leak, one at the cam cover and the second at the valve cover. since this vehicle is under standard mileage for the age, this seems to be an indication of defect and not under normal maintenance. i am looking to have this covered by gm under extended special parts warranty like the water pump is covered. i also had a oil cooler fail and a water outlet assembly fail at 40,000 just outside of the factory warranty, but that just happened to be covered under extended warranty but does not change the fact that another failure happened in two's. i have a case # with gm and it is 9-6323496598 cam shaft cover seal and valve cover gasket failure. feel free to call me, brock meldon at 412-559-4274

My car kept saying "ac off due to high engine heat" even though my car was not reading hot while driving down the road. then the car would start smoking and blow a hose and liquid would be everywhere. i had a brand new thermostate put in and it still does the same thing. also a previous recall about how the tire could seprate "tire rod" is still doing it again. i had 3 transaxle seals and a transmission seal, a motor blower for the a.c all replaced within the first year (still under warrenty) of owning this car. the stability track will show up on the screen. but i'm tired of worrying when my car will want to just randomly blow hoses and start smoking and leave me stranded on the side of the road! i bought a cheap car to get me to work and my cruze is sitting!!

Whenever i refuel my car i have to rev the engine for a couple minutes otherwise the car will die.

While my son was driving the car on the highway the engine started to smoke. he pulled over and turned off the car. he waited 10 mintues and started the car to head back home. when he arrived home liquid was leaking out the car and the car had smoke coming from the engine. at this time the check engine light was on. gm had sent a recall notice in the mail (n202299080), a couple of days prior. i called them on monday and they told me to take it to a dealer. i called the local chevy dealer and told them about the recall notice. he told me to bring it in. i called a tow truck driver and left the car at the chevy dealer. ater they had the car for two weeks, they explained that it will be $2000 to fix the vehicle, even though there are currently 4 recalls on the vehicle. i called gm several times to ask how are they going to rectify this, with no call-back. the vehicle is still at the chevy dealership.

The passenger low beam headlight hardly ever works as soon as the car is turned on the light is out , if tapped or bumped light will come back on, such as with your hand or while moving. i have replaced bulb few times still having trouble.

Car kept smelling like burning oil. the passenger compartment always smelled like burning oil. at one point, ryan almost fell asleep at the wheel after a drive to work in the winter because of the interior air quality. we brought it in and the turbo charger oil cooler pipes were leaking including the feed and the return.

Going onto the freeway lost most of power, white smoke plume through exhaust, engine was running poorly. mechanic had to replace my engine at 134,040 miles.

Message on screen comes up "a/c off due to high engine temp" a few minutes after driving down the road. a/c shuts off temp goes down and everything is fine then you can turn the air back on and it runs fine. can not diagnose the problem when the problem doesn't last long enough for anyone to see.

I have been having issues with my turbo charge system(s) for a couple years. i have brought my vehicle to be serviced several times and thousands of dollars later i’m still having the same issue. my engine light comes off and on so i had to wait until the he light was on for a diagnosis. i was then told i needed to replace my turbo boost system. i hen asked about the previous repair to my turbo system i was told there was more than one. then a stabilitrak/ traction pops up periodically. on june 22, my car would not start, i could not remove the key from the ignition. thinking it was the battery, i got a jump and proceeded on my way. when i was leaving my destination, to had to jump start my car again. the engine light isn’t on currently , so i am unable to get another diagnosis. this has been the worse experience of my life. i have been in contact with chevrolet directly over the past couple years and they provided absolutely no resolution. my car isn’t gaining speed.. it seems to hesitate often and runs even worse with the ac running. i will never purchase another chevy product nor will i recommend this make. chevy need to make this right. these cars are proving to be defective and they are proving they could careless. chevy received a substantial stimulus package, make things right with your company.

Service stabli trac and service traction control come on. car is “chugging” when in motion and then dies. ignition coil get burnt out. this is now the 3rd time in a month.

I left my keys in the ignition one night, went to bed, and woke up to my headlights turning on and off. i thought someone was trying to steal my car, but when i ran outside, the car was literally starting itself, turning itself off, turning back on, and back off. i’m not sure how long it had been doing that, but then i started it up myself, and turned it off, then removed the keys from the ignition. it was in the park position.

The stablic tract, the engine, the engine slows down, the power steering, the engine module has blowed i have had problems with the car day 1, i bought from jda automotive on garners ferry road. i have been taking car to chevrolet in columbia,sc harbison . they repaired recalls but soon as repair they send a signal to car to tear up .the car come to complete stop causing me to need neck brace it also is tearing up the thread on tires. and people are blowing horn and also hitting me in back everywhere i go i have to use emergency blinking lights.

First the water pump had to be replaced, then the turbo coils had to be replaced $740, then the surge tank and now they are saying more leaks and wanted to do some test that cost $65. something is not right, am i the only one this is happening to?

My screen for the radio starts to flicker, and the entire car shuts down. after waiting for 5 or 10 minutes the car powers back up and starts. another time, while i was still parked the radio starts to flicker again. so i turn off the car, but the key is stuck in the ignition and when you turn the key you get nothing. it doesn't start and you get no power. after waiting a few minutes again the car powers up on its own while key is still in the ignition. this also happened once while i was driving. luckily i was just taking off, so i wasn't going very fast.

The intake manifold became cracked and i have researched it has been an issue for many chevy cruze bettween the years of 2011-2014. the vehicle has a increased air flow the results in a poor air to fuel mixtue inside the combustion chamber, also allows oil to blowby. the issue with the intake has caused increased oil consumption/ burning, resulted in a loss of power upon first take off from stop light. this issue has caused the computer to adjust the timing more than the manufacturer allowed limit which has resulted in a bent valve and bad timing

Car loses electrical . radio display goes blank. signal light use becomes very quiet. key becomes stuck in ignition cannot be removed. with key on mode hear clicking sound. no electrical activity just sound. after about 10 minutes car comes back to life. on occasion i get displays on dash telling me to open and close driver window. car can die anywhere. pulled into gas pumps shutoff pulled out key. after getting gas put key into ignition went to turn on key became stuck and their was no electrical activity. putting key in on mode i heard fast clicking but nothing else. after ten minutes it’s like the car turned on. i had to turn the key a couple times before the engine came on. i get various display notices like the one i attached. or i get stabil trak display. this has happened several times. it takes power steering and i am unable to drive.

Took car in for overheating after having hi temp worning come on. checked coolant levels it was low. deal repared car per recall. unfortunitly motor was damaged do to over heating. dealer returned car with bad motor after testing for hidrocarbons. charged me $800 even with recall parts provided. car is still undrivable do to waterpump leak. where do i go from here? lemon law? dealer work not preformed? please advise.

I bought my car from a used car lot in march. after about 2 weeks, i started having issues with the cruise control, after a few months, the cruise switch had to be replaced because it stopped working all together. during the time i've had the vehicle, i've had to replace the thermostat control, as well as a coil in the engine. for the past 2-3 months or so, i'll be driving down the highway and the service stability track will show up, with the traction control and the check engine light blinking. my car wont let me speed up, and it will slowly slow down. if i have my cruise on when this happens, the car's rpm will shoot up in an attempt to get back to the speed i had it set at. after about a minute with the lights on, the check engine light will stop blinking and the car will go back to normal (the traction light wont turn off until i turn off the car). i have taken my car to my mechanic, and his computer shows code uo100, which is "lost communication with engine control module", which is a very general code and could come from anywhere. he cannot figure out what is wrong with it. the wires seem connected properly, and everything seems fine, other than the light issue. it happens while i'm driving down the highway, at any random moment. it occurs at least every 3 days, if not everyday.

While driving and in motion the vehicle shuts off. after shutting off the abs malfunctions and the steering malfunctions. this has happened twice now, both on city streets. once disabled the vehicle will not restart on it's own; it doesn't even turn over. the vehicle will, however, restart if jump started. the first occurrence presented with a check engine light that coded as a faulty cam shaft sensor. this was replaced and the check engine light went away. the second occurrence presented with no lights or warnings. both the battery and alternator were tested and are functioning.

Chevy cruze 2013 ltz turbo, i have the paperwork stating it is turbo. i took it to a dealerships because check engine light came on. i was told it was fine. they cleared everything. i have been told different things whether it has turbo or not. the turbo was supposedly checked several times since i bought it. the mechanic at dealership said it did not have turbo. i asked the head mechanic to drive the car with me in it. he did, the head mechanic convinced me it had turbo and it was working fine, i said it doesn't act like it to me, he said this is all its got and that's it, the car is fine. the head mechanic said it was fine, i said something is not right, he convinced everything was and to push the clear button when it would be and it would be fine. this happened between 2014 and 2018 this has happened over the years. i was told to basically touch the clear button. codes started to pop up; it started with the window. i was told to hit clear button when this happens, so i did. then check engine codes pop up on dash saying: role window down and back up, check transmission, key remote not detected, start with remote start, check air bags, it has done this off and on for a several years, off and on . now this week it got really bad to the point the car just shuts off, then it will not start, until i touch the clear button or i have to unhook the battery otherwise the dash will not turn off and i can't start it. i took it to have codes checked and mass flow sensor , then it said vapor canister purge valve then map sensor, i replaced all, the car still acts the same. codes still appear on dash. start the car it seems ok, then you drive it and the engine just shuts off and codes start to appear again. should this be checked into. i can't find records, i will try, but i can tell you dealerships.

The windshield defrost does not work like it is supposed too. when i put it on defrost and the heat on full blast, it will only heat the passengers side of the vehicle and not the drivers side of the vehicle which is a huge safety concern. on the driver's side there is cold air coming out of the vents which prevents the drivers side of the windshield to not defrost. when i drive, it only seems to get worst so i pull over and try to scrape the ice off as best as i can so i can properly see. this is a huge concern when it comes to upstate new york winters, especially when we have ice storms which is when i first encountered the issue. it fails to defrost the inside and outside of the windshield on the driver's side. this is a huge safety concern as it impairs visibility.

The car seems to have been affected of one several issues that happened early on in the production with a coolant leak smell problem in the cabin, particularly evident while braking to a stop. the smell seems to be linked to a coolant leak in the heater core or in the connections of the pipes with the exchanger itself. this is dangerous as the fumes are possibly slightly toxic and, moreover, it indicates a leakage in an area after the firewall that can lead to scalding if it gets in contact with a person. earlier events on the car happened in the initial production of the cruze and typically quite early in the mileage, but my car showed it now at 105000 miles. an improvement, but evidently not a full fix.

The oils is leaking is this vehicle .. and how it was explained is that the oil is also leaking into the turbo .. which is causing oil to basically be pushed out instead of air being brought in for the car to go the correct speed and the car is undriveable

I was sitting in my vehicle with the engine running and the air conditioner on, since it is august and very hot in las vegas. i had been in my vehicle for approximately five minutes about to leave when my air conditioner stopped blowing cold air. i smelt an electrical smell in coming through the vents. then my car shut off and smoke began pouring out from underneath the hood. i quickly exited my vehicle and called the fire department. within a couple minutes, the entire front of my vehicle was in engulfed in flames. i have not done any mechanical maintenance or work to my vehicle recently. i had my oil changed approximately 1000 miles ago. i had not had any problems with my vehicle until it caught on fire spontaneously and randomly without warning.

Vihicle was on freeway and heated up so bad quickly and had to pull over. . looses coolant constantly. part needs to be changed every couple of months. it is hard to get the part in my area and neighbor cities because it happens to a lot to different people with the same car. i am constantly fixing lines and replacing coolant every week.

Out of no where the engine starts to sputter while sitting in idle on the 2013 chevrolet cruze. it is the valve cover, letting in too much air to the fuel system causing the engine to sputter to try to correct which, if not taken care of immediately, causes the crank shaft to go bad which makes your car sound like you should be on the jetsons. there are a number of this same complaint over the internet and wanted to make you aware as i am now having this same issue.

A few weeks ago, i experienced an alert regarding my engine overheating (ac off due to engine over heat, engine overheat idle engine). i turned my car off and allowed it to cool down before continuing my travels home. once i reached my home, i scheduled an appointment at grand prize chevrolet in nanuet, ny for thursday, june 27. the mechanics at this dealership found that my water pump and hoses needed to be replaced. this is a $1600 job, and i paid to have this work done, i was not able to pick my car up from the dealer until june 29. about two weeks later on friday, july 12, i received the engine overheating alert once again. i promptly called grand prize again, and scheduled the earliest appointment i could. i was not able to bring my car in to be looked at until tuesday, july 16. again, the mechanics at this dealership found a different problem with my car. they informed me that the coolant tank needed to be replaced along with the radiator cap. i had both of these items replaced at no cost. i asked them to test the engine once again to be sure that the problem had been resolved. upon checking the engine, they found that my engine was damaged and i would either need a new engine head or a completely new engine. i was informed that a new engine head would cost about $4200 and a new engine would cost about $8000.

I purchased this vehicle (2013 chevrolet cruze) in 2016 and it had mileage of 3,500 miles. less than a month of ownership an alert showed and sounded in the dash lights that the rear driver's side door was open when it wasn't and this was while in a park position and while in motion on any road. the alert was almost constant so i brought it to a repair shop which replaced the latch in the door 3 separate times and the problem still occurred. eventually i asked to just have the latch disconnected in the door because no one could fix it and stop the alert and sounds from going off. so now i have a $300 latch disconnected inside the door because that wouldn't fix the problem plus i have to manually lock and unlock that door if i need to use it when all of the other 3 doors can be electronically locked/unlocked with the fob or the lock/unlock button in the car. now a new problem that is currently going on is the rear brake light in the back windshield is very dim while in a park position or while in motion driving on any road. it still works but is not as bright as it used to be. it's a light bar that sits in the back window acting as a 3rd brake light and it does not contain light bulbs. also, i've had a couple of other alerts show up in the dash for a day or more while in a park position or in motion driving on any road and then they go away after a few days. i suspect this vehicle has an electrical problem and i can't afford to have it diagnosed.

When the climate control system is placed in defrost mode the air does not blow out the defroster vents and the windshield does not clear. this is a safety hazard especially in michigan with all the weather changes. there are many reports on line with videos of a gear on the defrost door stripped/broken, these reports go back years to current. seems gm does not plan to authorize a recall for this safety issue. i checked with local chevy dealer and chevy customer service was told there is no recall related to this issue.

Drove to work in the morning as usual with no check engine lights, car sat in the parking during the day went out to drive home at the end of the day and the air bag trouble light in on. took car the gm dealership to have the code diagnosed and dealership informs me that the airbag and connecting airbag harness will need to be replaced due to the fact the airbag will not recalibrate and is not communicating with the computer.

Defrost quit working..air blows out of all other vents but not defrost

Coolant is leaking and needing to be refilled daily, service engine light on everyday. “engine hot, car needs to idle” comes on anytime you drive it. engine powered reduced. as for electrical, while front panel will go black and everything will shut down for a couple hours or even days.

The car said overheat-ac off code- car was very low on coolant- took to the dealer and was told by the dealer that the engine was blown and not to driive the car- i ask about service bulletin- but was told this did not apply. i had problem with overheating 18 months ago- replaced, thermostat, canister, etc as my expense.i ask if this was related and was told no. i researched problems and found many about engine and cooling problems. the dealer has made no effort to help resolve the issue. i tried to have car transferred to a different branch of dealership to have problem evaluated- i was informed by salesman that the dealer refused to transfer the car to have it checked. his seems very odd. i called gmc- chevrolet division but have not gotten a response. the dealer wants me to trade in car for a different one and will offer me $300-$600. which is ridiculous. after i trade in the car-no one can check it- the car still runs but i am afraid to get stuck.

Multiple coolant issues. bought 2/2019, took it back to the shop for coolant issues in 3/2019 and discovered its leaking coolant again. from the engine coolant water outlet.

The windshield wiper linkage failed via a ball joint failure in the wiper mechanism. this caused the driver side wiper to become free moving, staying attached to the car. when it failed, it wound up getting pinned against the driver side door, forcing me to exit the vehicle via the passenger side. this failure occurred when i was driving through western md on interstate 68 near grantsville, md, during a light snow and salting operations were underway. i was using the wipers and washer fluid to keep the windshield clear of salt. after this failure, i used cable ties to tie the loose wiper arm to the attached wiper arm, therefore disabling my wipers until we got to our destination, two hours further down the road. i had to stop every 10-15 minutes to clear the salt off of the windshield. i replaced the part, but have the oem part available for inspection, if requested. i noticed this specific part was recalled on the 2013 chevrolet equinox.

Driving last night from work to home at i96 westbound (livonia-mi) around 7pm, i started getting messages in my cluster such as service stabilitrak, service traction control and engine power is reduced. just suddenly my car lost all the power and throttle when i was travelling in a highway around 70 mph on the second fastest lane. it was very scary and dangerous situation once my throttle was complete unresponsive and could find myself at the middle of the highway at 5mph . my instinct was to turn on the hazard lights and try to move the car to the slowest lane as safe as possible. i feel lucky that no one hit me in the back and i consider that i was lucky to have this problem at this time of the evening. luckily i was able to take the exit 173b to levan rd and from there park the car to evaluate it. i could not find any visible defect either internally or on engine compartment. i turned off the engine and on several times and still had the same cluster messages and derated power. i was still able to drive the car safely to the parking lot of madonna university looking for a safer place to wait for my insurance company. when waiting for the aaa operator i was able to re-start the car with no display message but only with the engine check light on. i drove the car in the parking lot and noticed the car seemed to be ok. once on that time i was still waiting for the aaa operator i decided to take levan rd northbound and i was able to safe arrive home. checking the symptom i had in google and youtube i learned about the problem with the negative battery cable which is already known by nhtsa and gm. i hope my incidence can be investigated and a decision for recall be taken.i don't see any difference to what experienced with the ignition switch topic therefore this issue should be considered as potential recall. please feel free to contact me at any time for more details.

I contacted chevrolet customer service on 1-10-18 and spoke to a supervisor. reiterating call. the vehicle has 35000 miles on it. it is out of warranty because of purchase date. on 4 different occasions this is what happened. #1) nov 18 lights were on, flashers were on and radio was on while the vehicle was in the garage and key was in the off position #2) dec 2018 same as #1 #3) dec 2018 vehicle was running with the key in the off position in the garage. by running i mean the engine was running and exhaust fumes were everywhere. #4) jan 2019. same as #3. this is very dangerous and could have started a fire or carbon dioxide poisoning could've occurred. the representatives told me there is no recalls which i already knew and stated they would not pay for a repair. i told them about a service bulletin, they denied there was one. there are two numbers pi1329(date 0ct 14) and a nhtsa bulletin ( id number 10114279) date oct 14. i'd appreciate your prompt attention to this serious matter and would like this fixed for free at the dealer. can you contact chevrolet and tell them there should be a recall

Could push the gas pedal to the floor and it won't accelerate. pressing the gas with normal pressure makes the rpm's increase very quickly and the car either won't accelerate or will accelerate very slowly. the engine light was on previously for two days and then shut off and hasn't come back on yet. i think it is the turbo. unknown cause.

My cruze is leaking oil from the oil pump cooler. i took it to my mechanic shop amd had it diagnosed. he said there is a nationwide backorder for the part. he finally found one but he has to drive over an hour away to get it. they have another cruze in the shop with the same issue. i am just wondering why there isnt a recall if the part is on back order nationwide? my car has approximately 125,000 miles on it and i just purchased it a month ago. i knew there was an oil leak somewhere when there was a fresh puddle of oil in my driveway.

I was making a left turn and the steering wheel locked and the radio turned off, i barely made it before getting hit. the steering wheel unlocked and i turned into the first place i could. i turned the car off and tried to start it but the brake was locked and nothing was turning on when i pushed the button. tried a few times and nothing. while sitting there for about 5 minutes the whole dash came on and i was able to start the car. the radio had been turning on and off a few times on this drive before this happened. but the radio has been doing this for some time .

A/c off due to extreme high engine temperature cam on a couple of weeks ago, i took it in and it was fixed supposedly. a week later it came on again. i have taken it in 4 time now. as of today it is still in the shop. they had to call the manufacturer for some help and still, even a new computer and the light still comes on. this is getting to be too much. i have to go to work.

Engine light came on, air leak came from valve cover. apparently the cover and manifold went bad. there needs to be a recall and permanent fix on this immediately. too many of these cars are being sold, too much money is being made not to have a fix for this. my car is 16,000 miles out of warranty. ridiculous!

The vehicle will ocassionally not stop when pressure is applied to the brakes. i have noticed it occurs most often when the vehicle is in reverse. the brake pedal also gets hard. it does not occur all the time.

Vehicle dormant water inlet, dormant water outlet and reservoir hose are all faulty. car will leak coolant due to all three issues. this cause the vehicle to overheatand begin to slow on its own with no regard for location or the driver. i.e. slowing on the highway placing the driver at risk. the dormant water outlet is made of two plastic moldings that are bonded or pressed together leaving a seem where hoses connect these seems are week and seem to be the main source of peoples issue including mine. along with the coolant issue the valve cover purge valve is faulty also causing exhaust to not exit the engine under certain psi causes squeaking and poor throttle response also will eventually cause the pcv itself to fault or break.this issue may be the source of the car pulling while stoped at a red light causing the vehicle to jerk forward and possibly misfiring the engine pistons. vehicle is not worth the value paid for. all issue seem to arise after 36000 miles and after 5 years which means these manufacturer defects are not covered by the warranty. there are more issues associated with this year, make and model. i am sure i will be back here reporting more issues. any help is appreciated because it seems that all chevy wants is my money at this point.

The chevy eco cruze has been giving me problems from the start. i was driving with the ac on and came to a signal light when the ac shuts of & comes back on. also at the signal light i thaught i had gotten a tap from the back from another vehicle because the car jerked. turned out no car behind me but car still jerks forward with foot all the way down on brake pedal. next if i'm driving and slow down to make, let's say a left hand turn once i make the turn the car is sluggish as if it has trouble picking up speed. happens all the time from a stopped position or if i slow down it takes for ever to pick up momentum. making it scarey to merge or just be on the road. also if i turn the radio up the lights will die or fade so i've replaced the alternator but it still does it. ive checked connections wires you name it.

Steering randomly completely locked in motion. seemingly random electrical problem remedied on its own and required service technician to check it out to asses safety. cant be sure of the safety of my vehicle now.

The intake manifold is bad on a car that has 58,000 miles on it. every mechanic we took it took said it’s a common problem with this car. the car has no get up and go and it idles hard.

My car keeps saying ac turning off due to engine overheating but the actual car is not overheating, but the coolant in the reservoir is boiling and leaving the compartment quickly. when i drive a while, i can see steam coming from the side where the coolant is located and it is boiling once i opened it.

When car is running there is a knocking and whining under the hood and then when driving the car jerks or boggled down like it’s about to die. today the “service stabilitrak” light came on and the car became worse with the jerking and when at a red light the car died. i restarted the car and it is push to start but sounded almost flooded.

Coolant hose leak ruptured without cause or warning causing entire hosing system to explode and car overheated obviously while driving. it resulted in thermostat and housing along with additional coolant housing to be replaced about a month ago. now my car is bellowing white smoke and idling funny and i find out i’ve blown a gasket. my vin isn’t listed but i see other chevys with this same coolant hose weakness issue as mine. appears there are more than just those listed. extremely costly repair. also have similar issue with the fuel injection/take off with no power and slow to go which has almost been deadly in highway traffic. will never buy another chevy.

Ok so i needed a new car and went and ended up at a nice looking used car lot and financed a 2013 chevy cruze lt. since purchasing the car. (at this moment i've only had the car for 23 days) i had the car looked over by my mechanic and everything looked good and fine. and since day 1 these are the recalls that have been made on this vehicle but not for my vin but is happening with the car in order from when first noticed. first i was stopped at a red light and the car jerked forward and honestly scared me as it felt like i had just been hit by the car behind me. ( which wasnt the case as i got out to check). well then after a few days im on the interstata and decided to use the speed control, at first it was just like you would expect it to be but after not even 5 minutes the car starts acting like in tapping and releasing the gas and will not stop unless speed control is turned off or stopped. so then i run over a nail and go to replace the tire and the mechanic looks over the car again and bring an oil leak to my atttention from the oil pan and shown visible oil on the gasket. (already under my limited dealer warranty). so since then i have checked the oil every day just to be sure im not running low and it wasnt low. well like a week later i make a drive i have actually made in this car about 6 times already to have lunch with a friend and when i get there turn the car off and then the friend is 10 min away so i restart the car for the ac. didnt have the car back on for 2 min and the car started beeping with engine overheat warning. turned the car off and popped hood to check and from the overheating i guess there was pressure on the hose it just popped the hose from the clamp and coolant went every where. had been away from the car and car was cooled and added more coolant to it. and everything is fine. well then the next night out of no where the head gasket blew

I bought a 2013 chevy cruze a year ago. the brakes fail when car is in reverse and the brake pedal gets hard. it happens intermittently but i've taken it to the dealership twice and they couldn't find anything wrong. i'm afraid for my son to continue to drive this vehicle. there are no recalls but an internet search says there are many brake problems with all cruzes. not happy i made this purchase and will be trading this in if the next service appt doesnt find anything wrong.

Car looses speed can't give it gas has no pull! once you take it out of gear and put back in drive, works fine. lights flicker on and off, on radio. bought car in february with 49.000 miles on it drove to store came back out of store car was completely dead! made no sound, checked battery everything, 5 min later started rite up. this car does not feel safe to me, i wish i could return it.

There was a recall on 2013-2014 chevy cruz turbos with certain vin numbers. i own a 2013 chevy cruze, with the exact engine (1.4l turbo engine). my turbo is going (the exact same issue with the recalled part for the other chevy cruze's), but my vin isn't included in the recall. i wanted to reach out to see if the recall wasn't expansive enough. it seems strange that my less-than-60,000 mile, 5 year old car has the exact same problem as other cars built with the same engine / year, and that the problems aren't related. it's $1600 to fix, and if it was a defect from the manufacturer, that seems like an unfair amount to pay. the issue hasn't incapacitated the car yet; it was diagnosed through a check engine light on my car when i was getting a tire fixed at the dealership.

The vehicle has been going to anti theft mode and took it in they found coolant reservoir leaking thermostat leaking along with the drive belt has coolant on it causing it to squeak according to chevrolet car seems like when i'm driving it it feels like its moving fwd on it's on when i have my foot on brake at a complete stop. my car is at 143,000 miles on it

I was driving on the boulevard and stopped at the red light once it got green the car turned off on me had to put it in park and restarted the car to work again.

My 2013 chevy cruze that had 80000 miles on it head gaskets are blown out along with the bolts and cooling system. upon reviewing other complaints and speaking to others this seems to be a problem. the car had regular tune-ups and oil changes along with a engine flush. i have attached a copy of the estimate to repair the gaskets. the shop also informed me that if i wanted the coolant system fixed and it is on recall that they would fix around the coolant system ...send the car to the dealership to repair the recall and send the car back to them to finish repairs. i have only had the car 4 years and when i purchased it the car only had 10000 miles and for this to happen this early in a car is a problem.

Traction control needs servicing light came on while i was driving at 45 miles per hour, then car not running well, then engine light, engine knocking, and hardly running. vehicle has just over 72000 miles. i have read in consumer reports that this year model has faulty pistons. this should have been a recall if they knew this engine was not built well.

Went out and started car up. car was shaking and service stabilitrac and service traction control were on the dash screen. this happened back in december as well and then the car eventually stopped working altogether.

The passenger wiper blade motor broke right after turning the wipers on, and will not move the wiper. the vehicle was stationary when the passenger side stopped working. the driver side wiper randomly stops working in the middle of driving at random times, on city streets, highways, ect.

My vehicle repeatedly ran hot everytime i would drive it over a mile on the road. my husband changed the thermostat, always made sure it had coolant, checked my hoses, and replaced the water pump. but eventually it blew a head gasket. we noticed it did so when we seen water had mixed into the oil. supreme chevrolet replaced the engine at 96,000 miles in november 2016 under warranty. i drove the car about 54,000 miles with the replaced engine and it too started running hot everytime i would drive it about a mile down the road. the dash light would say turn a/c off and idle engine or turn off engine due to high temperature. we changed the radiator, the hoses, the water pump, and the thermostat on the car and it remained running hot with high temperatures until that engine too blew a head gasket.the dealership will not warranty the second engine although it only has 67,000 miles on the new engine. and now i am left with no vehicle and still owe $6700.00 on the chevrolet cruze due to the faulty coolant system.

During the winter the defroster will not clear any of the windows, front and side. happens when temperature is at 34 degrees and below. put system in defrost + heat feet front windshield and all side windows fog up. place in defrost only clears windshield not side total, no clear in back side windows. have to run fan on almost full when in defrost only. happens in motion and static. first dealer would not fix, second dealer has been working on it for 4 years

When driving the car it loses power we had it put on a computer to diagnose the issues and its the turbo. however ive seen there is recalls for this. we have bought this car used with only 54,000 miles on it. we had one recall fixed already that the dealership we got it from was once fixed because of this issue. however i don't believe that and now im not believing this was fixed either. we have had nothing but issues with this car and its getting ridiculous

I went to the dealership service center where i bought my car because my stabilitrak was turning on and off on their self si i report it and when i was there they told me my coolant had a leaking and need to be replaced as long some hose and other parts as water pump that a was also under a recall to but they charged me $ 697.95 where they shouldn't cuz i was a recall cover under special warranty my car have so i report it to gm where an investigation is being done to they can refund my money and i have proof of all was done to my car because i feel is an abused toward chevrolet jersey city, nj doingvthis to me and imagine how many they already had done it. something need to be done immediately... if paperwork need to be provide i have it to be fax.

I would like to have gm look over the cooling system for the 2013 chevy cruzes. i have replaced the coolant reservoir , top hose and cap on mine. the problem im having is a leaking hose somewhere and i am smelling coolant coming through the vents when i have the ac on or off and heater the same way. please put the cruzes on recall gm and see if anyone is having the same thing i am.

Radiator leeking fluid car over heating. when cked said the problem was internal. then i have to pay for everthing that was caused by problem that was not under warranty. they want me 2 pay for hose and other things, almost $200. the problem started after i had an oil change at this location. my heater was not getting hot and when i cked no fluid n radiator. so i called the dealership, they didn't tell me that was not part of 24 points check until today. my complaint is we have 2 pay fohey. want 2 let u know i will not be there 2morrow morning. have 2 take my car 2 shop. depend on how long it take 2 fix. will get rental, but will not know till they ck it out. will give u a call when i find out.r everything that was caused by problem. if it is a recall problem everything that it take to repair should be cover. i am an caregive( cna) need my car for work inwhich i have missed 2 days because of this problem then still hqve 2 come out of my pocket. not sure if this problem have damaged my motor or not.

Exact same coolant system problems as in the earlier model chevy cruze recalls. faulty coolant system, specifically a leaking water pump, inaccurate thermostat and leaking coolant feed and return lines to the turbocharger. so far it has cost me close to $1500 at only 110k miles and i still have to replace the blown head gasket which was the result of the coolant system being unable to cool the engine properly due to the bad water pump. total lemon, this will be the second time the head gasket is blown within two years.

My 2013 chevy cruze lt has an issue with the turbocharger. it appears to be a very common issue among chevy cruzes. the code i believe it gives is p0299. while the acceleration and power always seemed off since prior to the incident, the first time the check engine light came on was at about 71,400. i was driving on a highway at the time. however, there have been occasions when i'm going uphill and despite the sufficient horsepower, it won't accelerate as it should. as a result, the turbocharger issue has caused the car to go much slower than the surrounding cars while going uphill, which clearly seems to endanger the driver and passengers as well as surrounding cars.

I smelled gas leaking and when i looked under the hood with the engine running i saw gas spraying the back of my car. it appeared to be leaking from the hose where the connecter was next to what may be the fuel filter. this car is 5 years old with 30,375 miles. i was told the part is on the national back order list with no ideal when it will be available.

Front turn signal bulb lens covers have melted. dealer claims he hasn’t seen problem before and wants $500 to replace entire housing unit. has to be plenty of these problems out there.

Car wouldn't start. got a "service steering column lock" on the dash. was able to start the car after a period of time. but engine start and stop still sounds bad.

Turned onto a major highway and a code came on and then it wouldn't accelerate, made some weird clanking noise, the noise comes and goes but is loud, rpms were high. car has been well maintained oil changes every 3000 miles. took to independent mechanic and problem was unidentified. calling dealership in the morning.

I started that there was a part they fixed and i don't know what i it is called, but the black cap that is directly behind the area where you put the motor oil is where they said it was opened (it had a bubble or it has small part of the rubble had came up. so put a new one it. not dealership another well known garage machanic who has been in business over 25 years. i took it took auto advance and the said that they didn't finish sealing the gasket on this area. i don't what's going on with my thermostat either.

The engine light turned on at 67,000 miles, strong jerking action while accelerating. at first it was diagnosised as having a bad sensor, but i've taken it in for repairs now 6 times and i've heard about 4 different things, everything from "no issues", "bad knock sensor", "ems system issue", "carbon build-up on the pistons", "metal shavings in the oil" - it's obvious that no one knows what's wrong with it but it often feels like the car is about to stall in the middle of the interstate. all proper service/maintenance has been performed on the car.

I had my spark plugs changed the day before on the 7/06/2018 as i was driving on highway to take my granddaughter to central state university my car started to sound like a bird when i press on the accelerator it started to singing. so i made it back home, but sound it had picked up, so i called back to machanic and they told me to bring it back in and they checked and said it was my water pump i believe. because of where it was dripping. they told me what it will cost to get it fixed, they told me to keep some water in as well antifreeze. so that what i did, but i don't have money to get it fixed right now. the first picture is what they fixed where it shows the solid black cap, they replaced a gasket but i don't know if theu silled right to keep it leaking or something behind where you put motor oil in. the picture shows where it is dripping down.

Second coolant leak in two months

Tire monitor system, i have had problems with this system ever since i purchased my car. every attempt to fix it has been unsuccessful. when the dealership resets it, it goes wonky and displays incorrect info about tire pressure and location of tire with that pressure. it recently showed that one of my tires had a no display reading and a "service tire monitor system" alert. and when i took it in for servicing, they told me its not covered by any warrenty (which i have the extended warrenty). this seems to me to be a safety issue as it is apparently important to the system to display it on my servicing screen (and affects my gas mileage that affects my emissions)! so why isn't it covered by the manufactures warrenty? why have it there at all then!?perhaps it is a job security thing just to bring in revenue. its b***s*** i think!!!

My check engine light turned on, so i took it in and they said the valve cover needed to be replace. the cost was $280.00 to replace it. when starting the car there is a loud clanking noise. this only happens when starting the car. we thought replacing the valve cover would correct this issue, but it did not. the car still has a really loud clanking noise. once the car is moving it drives fine. (manual shift car) however our fears are that if something breaks while driving down the freeway, that it could cause engine loss or worse freeze in the middle of cars driving 75mph and cause a sever accident. can y'all please check into this and let me know if there has been any recalls with this issue?

The dealer says that the right cv joint is leaking. also my steering wheel has a small catch in it when we are driving, wondering if these are related?

Power steering went out while making a turn in a parking lot and both power steering light, and stabili trak light came on. i could barely control the steering wheel. later that day car was back to normal.

I was driving my car on city street when all of a sudden, it lost all power. the car slowed down and i was stuck in a turning lane at a busy intersection.

While driving on the highway at approx. 65-70mph all gauges went dead. radio cut off, heat shut off. no speedometer. all warning lights came on the dash. car was drivable but had no turn signals, etc. heat and radio would come on for a few minutes then cut off again. once parked, the car would not start again.

I am writing asking for you to look into what i call endangering to motorist in our state, more so of a danger to me. i am forced to drive w/ something connected to my body, vehicle, or anything they can possibly connect to a tool utilized by our law enforcement agencies. the tool is used to do undercover work/investigations which i was told it's used by special investigations for the police department. as i am driving, i have to tell them while driving not to put that on my car, move that off my brakes (which sometimes my vehicle wouldn't stop i had to press down all the way to the floor for it to stop and my brakes aren't bad, they even have something setup to when i am breaking, slowing down and about to turn that it locks up my breaks and causes the care to do something like a jerk thing or instant stop, they have moved it to the back of my car which moves the opposite way my vehicle is being steered and it spins out only on one tire). they have created an illegal setup which has damaged my vehicle that's being repaired today. when driving they place it my brakes which sometimes don't stop, they have others driving at the same time as i am and it effects the driving of others, they move my vehicle which is steered the opposite direction i am controlling it, it can cause you to crash, it's huge distraction. the other motorist on the road as i am have tried helping some have admitted to driving w/ this connected to them purposely and are to intentionally cause an accident, they said it's a "game". with the help of some from the little rock police department, and fbi they are given the where about of certain individuals and they are to cause an accident. the setup alone can cause you to crash. i have motorist who spoke up and tried helping me as i am on the highway and those who are controlling it, which are individuals who work for our local law enforcement.

The defrost doesn’t work on the drivers side. when i turn the settings to defrost, the face vents turn on full power. ive tried all of the different settings (face, feet, face and feet, defrost and feet, etc) and the defrost wont work on any of them. this causes my window to fog up and ice over on the drivers side. while im driving! its not only annoying , it’s extremely dangerous and unsafe when drivig during the winter months. there is nothing in the vents. i checked. i tried to take pictures to show how i have no visibility. it’s alot worse in person.

I have a leak in my coolant system. since i've gotten the car in october 2016, i've experienced a weird burning smell, before i had even discovered what the issue was. in june 2017, my engine overheated due to a malfunction in my coolant system. as a result, i had my coolant flange replaced. a few days later, my car began to smoke and my engine went idle. the coolant leaks from the flange and the reservoir often. sometimes, it leaks as i drive, other times, it'll be parked and leak out when idle. i never use my air conditioning or heat anymore due to the burning smell of the coolant. i had my coolant flange replaced a second time. my car was down for 3 months and i just got it repaired again. last week, october 10, 2017, my car began to smoke again, my engine went idle, and when i popped the hood, the coolant had leaked out completely. any time it has overheated and the engine when idle, i've been on the freeway, driving at least 60 mph or on the street, driving at least 30 mph. more recently, when it overheated, the car had been idle for 2 hours and then 5 mins into me driving it, it happened. i was driving down a dark highway, going about 25 mph. before the engine overheated, i had 65% oil life and afterwards, i had 0% oil life. my uncle had just added coolant to my reservoir the day before, but it leaked out completely. luckily, i was not alone this time. i'm always cautious that my engine will blow out when i drive it. my mechanic informed me to be sure that i always had coolant and water in my trunk at all times, in case it leaks out. i travel 40 mins to work every other day and it's quite frightening, knowing that at any time, my engine may overheat again, due to the coolant leak. i'm almost positive that there's a recall for this issue, but i need confirmation. i have not received a recall notice, but i've done research..

In park at random times the service traction control and service stabilitrak light will come on. the car is real sluggish at take of, i can not leave a stop sign with a car any less than 40-50 car links away without fear of getting hit. when the speed finally starts to pick up it shifts rough at times. the car also feels like it is jumping when in drive and holding the brake.

Engine coolant thermostat sensors. i have replaced it twice in 2 months. i have found nothing but problems of the same sort all over the internet with many model years of the car i have. things just don't go bad that soon unless there is a significant electrical or engine issue. i see no recalls for my year on anything and i find it hard 1 year model has no recall issues.

I was driving home from the store and the "service power steering" light came on and i lost power steering. the stabilitrak light was also on. it was very difficult to steer the car home. i took the car to the dealer and they tell me they can't find anything wrong with the car. they are going to keep it another day to see if they can make the code come up, but if it doesn't then i get to drive a car that can crash because of power steering failure. this is extremely dangerous to have the steering go out while driving. gm needs to find out why this is happening and fix it.

When starting my car from any stationary position, 0 mph (flat parking, on a hill or at an angle) the starter will engage and continue to run and run without starting the engine. in order to start the car, i have to turn off the ignition and try again. the second time the car will start (so far). also, when i use the air conditioner (car in motion, any speed 0-65mph, on city streets and on highways) there is a coolant smell that comes out or the vents. it is a strong smell and i cannot figure out a pattern for when it happens. it happens when i have the car running, sometimes when i first turn on the air conditioner and them it will happen randomly as i am driving and the air conditioner has been on for a while. i have never tried to see if it happens when i don't have the engine running (don't know if the air conditioner can run without the engine running).

All the electrical components going off for no reason. key stuck in ignition and car will not start. just like most other complaints with this car mostly electrical. i just got this car for my 16 year old daughter. very scary that there is not a recall on the electrical system and the dealers does not know what is going on very disappointing. and this has happened sitting still and in motion like the car has a mind of its own.

Car's engine stopped running unexpectedly due to blown fuel pump fuse while traveling at 30 m.p.h in clear weather, during the day, on paved downtown orlando street. when engine died, lost power steering and power breaks, very difficult to control and almost got into an accident. dealer diagnosed the issue as a coil pack problem and replaced the coil pack at a cost of $534.00. i am not sure how the coil pack that holds the spark plugs would cause the fuel pump fuse to blow.

Starting at 20-30k miles, service stabilitrak would come on and check engine light would blink for 30 seconds. after shutting of the car the service light would go off. each time i took it to a dealership the code was clear and they weren't able to find out what was wrong. i got charged for $180 for checking up and not having a problem once. all the other times i brought in the vehicle they found something wrong and didn't charge me. finally over the couple years i owned the vehicle and now at 80k miles, the service stabilitrak light had been coming on more and more, i finally got it to come on and got an appointment right away. i took it in and they took 2 days to find out that all my spark plugs and my coil pack was rusted and corroded. it cost $700. i live in california there is no salt on the roads and i don't live by the ocean. this should not have happened.

Since purchase of the vehicle brand new in 2013, clutch has repeatedly smelled like burning clutch at random times while driving in 5th and 6th gear at highway speeds. the dealerships claim this is normal. at about 50k miles while driving on the freeway at 60mph in 6th gear for a period of about 30 minutes, i started smelling the clutch burning even though i wasn't shifting and didn't have my foot on the clutch. when it came time to exit the freeway and switch gears the clutch went to the floor and i couldn't shift into other gears. i had to pull over and take my car to the dealership by shifting when the gears synced. the dealership, keys chevrolet, in van nuys, told me i was riding the clutch and caused it to melt and wouldn't listen to me about what really happened. my last vehicle was a 1997 vw jetta and i took the original clutch to 157k miles before trading in for this chevy and the clutch was still good. i've been a valet for years and an auction coordinator, i don't ride the clutch and i can drive any vehicle professionally. the 2013 chevy cruze ls has problems. after looking on the cruzetalk forums, many members have found that the amount of transmission fluid chevrolet puts into their transmissions, about 2 quarts, is not enough for 5th and 6th gear and they recommend putting in 2.5 quarts. chevrolet denies there is a problem even though they caused my clutch to melt and cost me $1,800 to fix it.

Intermittently the anti-theft light goes on, without warning at an high speeds or when parked and shuts down all systems, immobilizing the car. this includes the radio, steering, motor. two days ago i was driving and this happened, the car shut down, i couldn't steer or drive the car, a very dangerous situation. this has also happened when trying to start the car, the ant-theft system shuts down the car. there is no way to know when this will happen. when taken to auto dealer, the car works fine. the car has 66,000 miles. this has happened at least 6 times, but the last one was the worst, travelling at high speed and losing control of the car. what happened is similar to what happened with the ignition switch in cobalts where the car just stopped, that is pretty much what happened with me.

In a conversation with the service department at steve rayman of smyrna, ga he said the negative battery cable caused the problems with the instrument panel, gauges, and the steering wheel jerking to the left. i chose to contact general motors because i just could not believe a negative cable could cause such problems. as mentioned earlier, gm personnel told me that three remedies made up special coverage 14311— 1, negative battery cable needs replacement. 2. voltage regulator needs adjustment 3. a screw needs to be tightened. in a second conversation with steve rayman personnel and gm, both said it was the cable and not the voltage regulators. the car had been in my garage for the last few days with a dead battery. this morning i jump-started the vehicle; so, we can assume the alternator was working properly because the car continues to run after disconnecting the battery cables. i drove to the store in order to purchase and replace the battery i noticed the battery voltage was reading 15.1 volts. after replacing the battery, i was returning home and noticed the battery voltage fluctuated from 14.7 while idling to 14.8 while driving. my question to you the alternator appears to working correctly by providing electrical power to operate the car while using a dead battery. if there were a power fluctuation, would it be reasonable to assume the voltage regulator could be the problem. could erratic voltage cause the instruments to go haywire and could lead to the car’s engine turning off? could such an occurrence cause a catastrophe accident and risk the live of all vehicle occupants?

The computer system goes on and off at random, which causes malfunctions in other areas, particularly the power steering and security system. my power steering has gone out multiples times, causing near accidents. the security system also locked up due to the computer, and it took 15 minutes to get it started in the arizona heat. the power steering issue is incredibly dangerous.

Engine overheated. tech found cooling fan not coming on. tech found cooling fan connector melted. tech used power probe to send 12 volts to cooling fan motor. blew the circuit breaker in the probe. motor faulty. tech suggest new cooling fan motor & pigtail assembly to repair. the above description is word for word from the repair invoice. the repair shop also told us this was a pretty serious defect and could have caused the vehicle to catch on fire.

We bought this car brand new off the lot and the brakes have squealed since we bought the vehicle feb 2014. we have taken it in several times and they can't find anything wrong, they say it's the type of brakes and sometimes they do squeal especially if humid or wet. now yesterday someone slammed on their brakes in front of me. luckily i was far enough back (about 4 car links) that i didn't hit them. when i slammed on my brakes, the pedal went to the floor and nothing happened! i let up and tried again and got some brake, but still not like it should. i could not get the problem to duplicate, when i tried, the brakes worked fine. i was driving on dry pavement on a highway at 45 mph, there was no reason for this to happen. the car has 19870 miles on it. this issue could have killed me and left 4 children with no mother! i see tons of issues for this from 2011-2014 cruze vehicles, when is chevy and gm going to do something about this instead of hiding under a rock and calling us all liars?! someone is going to be killed!

I had an issue starting the car a week after purchasing it in february. random warning lights would turn on and off. i read through the owners manual and it said it may be a security issue if the key isn't clean. i cleaned the key it seemed to have fixed the problem but after a few months it came back briefly and i'd clean the key and it would be fine. on the morning of july 30th the car grinded the gears and then had trouble starting as if the battery were dead. the key was clean. after a couple tries it started. later that day the power steering alert came on and the engine bogged down and i lost control of the vehicle for a brief moment. the light went back off and it worked fine for the rest of the day. the next day after running fine all day while on an exit ramp of a highway multiple alerts began going off and all the warning lights came on and a moment later the car stalled. it would not even crank to restart. the rear caution lights would not work unless the key was turned. the radio and dash work and light up but the power windows wouldn't operate.

I have been having an issue with my vehicle on and off. it seems to be happening more often now. when i shift my vehicle into park and turn off my car using the push to start button, a message on the dashboard shows up that says "shift to park" even though i already shifted it to park. i have tried restarting it and trying to get the message to disappear trying to see if the emergency break was the issue. i believe this has something to do with the gear shifter and am afraid that this could create a safety concern the longer it continues because my dashboard seems to be displaying an inaccurate message. i tried to search for recalls on my vehicle but did not find any for this issue; however, i found a recall on the 2014 chevrolet cruze (recall# 14048) that seems to be a similar issue that i am experiencing with my vehicle which is the same make and model but just a year older. i have also found plenty of complaints online from other 2013 cruze owners and believe that the recall should apply to the 2013 model as well.

I was slowing down for stop light and vehicles in front of me. the vehicles in front of me stopped suddenly, and i pressed on the brake pedal, but the vehicle wasn't slowing/stopping; i then pulled the emergency brake handle and my vehicle stopped, but unfortunately it was too late. i was at least 3-5 car lengths away from the vehicle in front of me. i ended up crushing in the grille in which pushed the radiator back and then it broke the thermostat housing and lost antifreeze soon later when driving; all this because of no brakes, and striking the receiver hitch cover on the vehicle in front of me. all in all $2k in damage to my vehicle, and undriveable. the main brakes didn't react upon pressing, this is way weird since i've owned the vehicle since new, to date never noticed anything out of the ordinary. now, the weather was "hot", it was around 95f and humid, the pavement was dry without rain. of course the police officer that did the report said that alot of these minor fender benders happen at this set of stop lights daily/weekly due to the lights being too quick, and distracted in a hurry drivers; and i was just a victim of circumstance, but my brakes failed also. i am a fan of the chevrolet cruze, but "wow" this happened, and possibly the beginning of another recall for a faulty brake/abs system since the emergency brakes did work (drum brakes). the insurance company did say that the car will be ran throught the shop to check the brake system.

The brakes do not work after staring car. in reverse after you take car out of gear. very limited brakeing to stop the car. this has been a previous recall in both the 2011, 2012 year models. seems to be a issue on 2013 model year as well. it happed as soon as the bumper to bumper warranty ran off. dealers want to charge a steep price to diagnose the problem. i feel like this is a very important and very dangerous issue that chevrolet needs to address as well in the 2013 year model.

The car bogs down in first gear, this is a manual transmission, car has poor power. this also gives the automatics poor power. the spark plugs are not gapped out of factory. i joined cruzetalk forums and many people had the same problem. 2013 cruze ls mt is supposed to have .028 gap spark plugs. i took it to the dealer and told them. they returned it in an hour and said they regapped them for me. the problem persisted. i bought the tools and took them out and they were set to .025, .021, .023, .025. the plugs are way off mark and the dealership lied. i regapped them to .028 and the car never ran better.

Even with the clutch fully depressed, there is often grinding between gears, especially in 1st to 2nd gear. i've been experiencing this since at least around 5k miles and have told chevy about it since then. they refused to inspect it. also sometimes when driving on the highway up a hill in 4th, 5th, or 6th gear i will smell the clutch. finally at 65k miles while drving on the freeway without my foot on the clutch, driving a smooth 65 mph for about 20 minutes, started smelling the clutch, then the clutch stopped working and would push to the floor and i couldn't change gears. the dealership said the clutch melted because i was riding the clutch. i can't believe they blamed it on me. i wasn't even using the clutch. it has always had problems since i bought the car brand new and nobody would listen to me.

After using the air conditioner, even for just a couple minutes, and turning it off, the windows become fogged up and the air is very stuffy and wont go away for at least half an hour with all the windows open and air blowing through the system.

My cruze died on the restaurant parking lot in the midle of the busy friday. came out to drive , put the key in to the ignition, turned to start and "boom" everything went out. no power was comming to any little or vital component of the car! checked the battery - was good! tryed to pull the key out - no way! it was almost like glued inside the ignition lock! everything remained dark for some time, i could not retrive a single signal so had to tow to nearest chevrolet dealership. no word on it yet!

We have approximately 28000 miles on our 2013 chevrolet cruze. today, we were returning from a trip to see family about 70 miles away and suffered a tire failure. the tire ripped in the sidewall. i replaced it with the spare and drive carefully avoiding highways on the route home. upon arriving, i promptly checked the other tires. i also see signs of a similar sidewall failure beginning on the other front tire! i luckily noticed the tire pressure dropping and avoided a bari one blowout. after seeing the other front tire i realize we are lucky to have made it home and the car is parked until monday when i can call goodyear and chevrolet. we were traveling with our 7 month old son. i can't believe the we risked his life with these tires! a quick web search showed issues with chevy volts with goodyear assurance fuel max also. a sidewall issue as well! this needs to be fixed before someone gets hurt or killed.

Radio will shut off and turn back on. if blinker is activated at time the blinker will also quit working. i can go an entire trip without it doing it, or it can happen every minute or so repeatedly in a trip. this is not safe. *tr

I bought my 2013 cruze in june 2014, with around 40k miles on it. in september the car began having issues. at first it was just that the radio and all dash lights would shut off. then i had multiple service lights that would flash randomly. those included stabilitrak, traction control, power steering and security system. at one point, while driving in a parking lot, my power steering completely locked up. my car eventually stopped starting. i was stranded at school and had to call a tow truck. when this happened, my key actually got stuck in the ignition. i was able to jump the car after several minutes of trying, but it would not keep power. i had it towed to the dealership, but they were not able to find anything wrong with it (no codes even came up on the computer) and it ran just fine for them. i drove the car home, and the next day had the same problem. this time after about 30 minutes of trying to get the car to start, it did, so i drove it straight to a chevy shop. again, they couldn't find any codes, but said they replaced some wiring and cleared the computer. i didn't have anymore problems until last week, when it all started happening again. i've had the power steering lock up on me in the middle of an intersection! the weird thing is, when my car doesn't want to start, all i have to do is use the little electrical knob that moves the drivers side seat back and forth, and everything fires up. gm needs to figure this out because it's bound to kill someone! *tr

I was driving home and hit an 8 point buck that weighed about 180lbs head on that caused damage from the middle front center of the car extending to the drivers side of the car and smashing up into the motor. the instrument panel immediately illuminated to service airbag but the airbag never deployed. i was told if i was going slower, the deer would have went through the windshield. i could have been seriously hurt since the airbag didn't deploy. i bought this car brand new with only 17 miles on it. i have driven it for 2 years and now have to wonder if my family and i were put at risk for the last two years, while traveling to ohio, from iowa and out to boise 3 times. of course i will be told there is nothing wrong and the car will be repaired, and i will be forced to continue driving a car that i won't really feel safe in because i won't know for sure if the airbag system is fixed, and will work right if this unfortunately will ever happen again. somehow this will be pushed under the rug and there will be nothing i can do about it. *tr

My vehicle was not filed in the recall list but has the same issue as a drive train recall (13v452000). my vehicle when shifting gears completely lost power and no longer goes into 5th or 6th gear. i have taken it to the dealership like gm asked me but unfortunately they informed me that my clutch was not covered. to me this is a big safety issues that could have resulted in my family and i being seriously injured if i was in a different situation. i would like to see my vehicle be fixed like all the other vehicles that was recalled with this same issues, i don't see why if the issues isn't different why my vehicle should be excluded. *js

Just a short time after i bought this car, which i love, i hit a deer. i was going 45 mph at the time and the impact did $10,000 damage but the air bag did not go off. thankfully i was not hurt and i was wearing my seat belt. to this day the car just isn't the same. *tr

While driving my car with the heater on and the dial set at high the car developed a horrible anit freeze smell. it was so bad i had to open the windows to get the smell out of the car. it did not help when i turned the heater to a lower setting. this problem seems to occur more often when the heater is set on high. i took it to the dealer because i received a letter from chevy stating there may be a problem with a coolent leak around the water pump. they said they found a leaking return hose that goes to the tank and replaced it. it did not fix the problem. i still smell antifreeze and sometimes it is so bad it makes me feel sick. its horrible and if they cant figure this out i will have no choice but to get rid of this car! *tr

Coming to stop light doing only 15 mph from where i was coming from and all electrical went down. the radio was still on but couldn't : turn up/down music, use any controls on steering wheel, the infotainment screen was black. had to turn the car off at a stop light and it didn't want to start until i did it twice. after that it was fine and hasn't done it since- but now i see others are having same issues. also, notice the lights inside do sometimes get brighter then duller on their own- everything including the dashboard and infotainment center. car also does have an odor with the heat on. *tr

I purchased my vehicle in sep 2013, approx nov 2013 i began having a horrible strong odor coming from my vehicle. we searched to see if an animal was in it. i thought maybe it was my son's feet & made him change socks. it got worse & was really strong when defrost, heat & vent were on. i took it in to the dealership & they looked at it, of course that day they couldn't get the smell to occur although it did on the way there. i went a couple more weeks & it got worse. finally, i took the car in for oil maintenance & advised again that the smell was horrible. the service manager at the time said it was a common chevrolet problem. there is a ledge under the hood, under the window & condensation from defrost or rain, etc. sits & doesn't drain causing the water to mildew & become stagnant. he told me to leave the car running with my vent on high (& not sit in the car), spray lysol and let it run for about 5 min, it kills the bacteria. i had to do this every night for almost 3 weeks during the cold winter months. i took it back & told them it was ridiculous i wasn't going to continue doing this for the life of the vehicle. when i took it back someone else was there & sd the dealership had rec'd notice that there was a part that could be put on it, so they sent me on my way waiting for a loaner vehicle then they would fix it. they finally "put the part on" i was advised by another dealer it wasn't a part they just had to flip a switch the part was on the vehicle. the next day i got in my car & blowers were running. i called & was advised that was what the part did, so now the smell was like rotten maple syrup. during the dry summer months the smell was not there, but now that fall/winter is coming the smell is back & i have a call in to get this and other major issued fixed again. this can't be healthy especially for my boys who have severe allergies to mold. *tr

I could smell coolant/antifreeze when the heater was on and the temperature was set to a high setting. i didn't think anything was wrong, just thought it might be a break-in issue. as of today's date nov 9, 2014 i still can smell the coolant smell when the heater is on. recently i received a letter from gm concerning possible coolant loss. at my last service of the vehicle i asked the dealer to check for this problem. nothing was reported to me from the dealer. i assumed that there was no problem. the other issue i have noticed is dash lights dimming or brightening on their own. the latest problem was that the car would not start this morning. drove perfectly yesterday, this morning dead. jumped the car and everything seems fine. making an appointment with the dealer. noticed that the coolant level is about 3 inches low in over flow tank. looked on the internet about cruze cars and found many posts about electrical problems. gm tells them all that they are not aware of any electrical problems but you tube videos show gauges and radios cutting out when driving. some videos describe cars shutting down when driving and not restarting. others have service messages appearing on the information screen and the dealers find nothing wrong. it is starting to sound like the infamous jeep grand cherokee electrical problems. i am seriously thinking it is time to get rid of my 2013 cruise as the factory warranty will expire soon. current mileage is 27490 on nov 9, 2014. *tr

I was stopped at a stop sign getting ready to cross over hwy to go north bound. a truck came out of nowhere and hit my driver side front end. my air bags didn't deploy. i googled it and saw there is a recall on my vehicle for air bag. i just bought the car 2 weeks ago. shouldn't the dealer be responsible for fixing recalls before selling the car even it is used. *tr

On june 28, 2014, i brought my chevy cruze to the dealership for a safety recall inspection (n140079) to inspect the front axle right half shaft. i was told my vehicle did not have a faulty axle and no further action was required. then on october 20, 2014, as i was exiting a highway off ramp and merging on to a main road (at approximately 10 mph) the vehicle stopped moving forward. the car was towed to the same dealership that performed the safety inspection on june 28th. the dealership stated the cv axle was broken and the sway bar link was broken in half. the dealership admitted that this was the same part that was inspected and involved in the recall. the dealership stated that the technician who inspected the axle on june 28th made a mistake. the dealership apologized and assured me that they would call in all other applicable customers to have their axles re-inspected. *tr

Now just purchased the 2013 chevy cruze second day everything shut down on me took it back and asked for a replacement car because something was wrong with that on explained and video tape it all but they sutton ford told me the car was just updating and its normal. i plead with them and they said no. a week later it kept shutting off i took it back again samething 3 weeks all electrical shut off while drivin on expressway car shut down while driving could have been killed took car back 10/8 they said to bring it back on monday which it caused it to be passed 30 day no replacement car and now warranty expired they want me to pay .they has the car now just purchased 9/10. lights come on brakelight service stabilititrak comes on the car shuts down while driving do not want this car life threatening for me and kids. also having problems with steering took it back second day of purchased claimed they fixed it but happening again. *tr

I was on my way home from work yesterday and when i went to make a right turn, the screen went out again....which is fine. we can all live without audio and a fancy screen in our cars, but as soon as the screen went out the power steering and stabilitrak lights both came on and my power steering completely went out in my car while i was turning. i almost hit a concrete wall and the cars that were waiting for their turn to go in the oncoming traffic lanes. it was bad enough that i had that issue but of course, there's more. we live on an army base - fort sill, in oklahoma - we have to stop at the gate to get on base and show our ids to get home. i stopped at the gate and talked with the guard for a minute, showed my id and went on with my business.. i started to drive away and my car went crazy again. i lost all power steering again and all of my lights flickered on and off for three minutes, inside lights and outside too. the car started jerking like it was trying to cut off, it finally stopped and i made it home but i refuse to drive this car again.  *tr

On 10-1-14 my cruze eco would not start. after multi tries and hearing only clicking sounds it did start. after getting to my destination and letting the car sit for hours it did the same thing again. contacted dealer was told to bring car in which i did on 10-3-14. after a week, they stated they showed the alt was not charging and replaced it then again because 1st one they received from g.m was defective. on 10-10-14 picked up car started it up went home and let sit for about a hour then tried to start and again it only clicked but this time there was 3 messages and one was to roll window up and down? why? does these cruzes have electrical issues or computer issues? contacted selling dealer again and was told to bring it back which i did on 10-13-14. waiting on my new cruze again to be fixed and wondering why do these 5 star cruzes have so many problems according to what i have been reading the last few days without g.m doing something. i am not satisfied with this car. *tr

While i was driving, my stereo system would lose all power. my display on the speed display showed "service stabilatrack". my abs, brake and traction lights came on and continued to blink. i took it back to the place i bought it and they said it didn't trigger a code so they couldn't fix it. i have a video of what happened as well, but it didn't help. *tr

I drive a chevy cruze 2013 model. i went to the garage in the am and the car was attempting to start itself with the key in the ignition. took the vehicle to the dealer and they said all they can do is watch it to see if it does it again. i called gm and they said that it is exactly the symptoms that they have had happen with their other vehicles and that is why there is an ignition recall. i asked them well mine isn't on the list and they said that since it isn't on the list then they wont fix it, i explained to them that my car is doing the exact same thing and that it is a safety hazard and that they should fix it, they said that they wont because it isn't on the list to be recalled and the only way they will is if it is on the list. my complaint with gm is that it is obviously happening on other vehicles as well and mine is one of them and they wont fix it cuz it isnt on their list to be fixed. *tr

I bought my 2013 cruze ltz about three months ago and i was sure that it was the perfect car, now, i'm fully aware that i was wrong.. i got in my car to leave for work on august 1, 2014 and when i started my car, the on dash maintenance reminders all went crazy telling me to "service power steering" and "service stabilitrak".. i knew this couldn't be right so i turned off the engine and restarted the car, the screen went crazy again with the service notifications. i didn't have time to have it checked out before work so i went ahead with my day, i got all the way to the interstate (which is about a mile and a half from my driveway) and noticed the steering was getting stiff so i pulled over and restarted the car again and the lights didn't come back on so i, again, went on about my day... issue number two-- about three days later, and every day since, my on dash touch screen goes completely black, which wouldn't bother me so bad if it didn't make all of the "service" lights come back on. i don't "need" a touch screen but it would be really nice if i didn't feel like i was driving a ticking time bomb every day since the vehicle clearly has wiring issues. now, if i touch the brakes or roll down a window, the screen goes completely black, the dash lighting flickers and the service lights come on. i've been searching forums for almost a month and it seems that numerous people are having these issues, not only myself. i'm so disappointed with my purchase, its almost unreal.. the perfect car, in the perfect color with more recalls (and other issues that haven't been recalled) than i even know how to deal with it. never again will i buy a chevrolet vehicle. it is out of control to not be able to feel safe in a vehicle that you've worked extremely hard to get.

While attempting to accelerate from a complete stop or while entering a highway, vehicle pauses and does not want to go and then decides to jolt vehicle and accelerate rapidly. vehicle was taken to chevrolet dealer who stated no computer issue was found however they did not test drive it as requested either.

My vehicle is part of the nhtsa campaign id number 14v151. this right front axle problem has been known since at least march 2014. i was notified in june 2014 of the recall. the dealer still has no parts to fix the subject vehicles (even ones that have failed). others like me are afraid to drive on long trips with the known unsafe condition. still others are afraid to drive their vehicle at all. this is atrocious and needs to be dealt with immediately. *tr

I bought my cruze in nov 2013 1.4 turbo engine, i saw the recall on t.v. on apr 15, called mike castrucci milford, ohio 513-831-5460 and asked about it, i was leaving in two days to drive four hours to take care of my sister, my vin number was checked i was told my car was not involved. i found out at cardinal chevy dealer in hazard, that it was, when i called castrucci, they said bring my cruze in as soon as i came home, that was may 13, my car is undrivable, and has been at castrucci since then waiting on parts. now i see that other cars like mine were already involved, and were repaired with faulty parts, and have to be repaired again. i want my car fixed or i want my money back, i paid cash for this car and it has been at mike castrucci for two months!!!!! *js

Traveling on the interstate about 60mph, car in front of me slammed on their brakes, i did the same but did not have enough time as it only took a split second and i had rear-ended the car in front of me still going approximately 55-60mph. my head hit the steering wheel because no air bags ever deployed. i suffered cervical straightening of the c spine and strain, which resulted in tests to rule out brain bleed. severe headache and swelling of my head eventually eased 4-5 days post accident. *tr

There are three problems affecting my car. i took it in to the dealer on june 7, 2014. my car was experiencing the fan turning on abruptly and picking up all types of debris from under the car, the ac also began blowing hot air, and the thermometer to measure outside temperature was not accurate. they identified all three problems. the ac and fan were linked to the compressor not working, and the thermometer needed an update. i was told they did the update and that they would have to special order the compressor and would call me within 3 days to come back so they could install it. we are at the end of the month and i have yet to receive a call i have called them twice already and they do not have an answer as to when the part will arrive. the thermometer is still not working, i have no ac. i am disappointed as all this is covered under warranty and i am stuck with a car with no ac which is pretty bad considering we are in the summer months, i am afraid to have my children in the car with me if i have to drive on the freeway because i cannot roll the windows down and the temperature in the car becomes too hot. *tr

Gm has a recall out on the 2013 - 2014 chevy cruze models for the defective part on the right front end axle, they have had my chevy cruze in their service department since may 12th, 2014 when they did the recall inspection. they are unable to release the vehicle back to me because they would be liable if something happened to me. they do not have the parts, or do they have a time frame as to when the parts will be available. this has caused a major inconvenience for me, as i am making payments on a brand new vehicle which i have no access to, due to this recall. it is unfair as a consumer that a car was sold knowing that they had a defective part and knew they had no parts for the recall. just yesterday they announced another recall for the 2013-2014 chevy cruze models for a defective airbag. have not found out if my car is included in this one or not, but at this time, who cares, they still have my car for the front end axle recall with no timeframe as to when i will get my vehicle fixed. buy your cars back that you sold to consumers willing knowing this problem. lemon law under the gm new car warranty. *tr

The cars radio and other electrical components (ex. on-star, phone chargers, usb products) will turn on and off at random. it occurs randomly and intermittently. this has happened a number of occasions roughly 15-20 times over a couple of months. it mainly happens at a red light and then will turn back on once i accelerate. this has happened on a highway going 60-70mph and the every light on the dashboard went on and on the display screen it stated stablitrax is off. immediately pressed my onstar button and asked them to run diagnosis and the whole conversation was going in and out of being able to hear them. my radio was going on and off the entire time when the radio was on i could hear when it was off and all power was off. we did loss connection to onstar and i repressed the button. i have had them run their "diagnosis" multiple times when this happens and they never have anything come up wrong. they advised me to tale the dealer. i have been to the dealer where they advised me that unless it was happening at that time it would pretty much be impossible to figure out the problem. i have heard some clicking or switching sounds come from under the hood while i have been driving occasionally not sure if and my engine temp always runs cold not sure if either of those relate. it would be nice to feel safe in my new car and it would be nice to be paying for onstar and not have a doubt they would be reachable if this causes a bigger problem! be safe fellow chevy cruze drivers! *tr

We were driving home on a highway at dark when we hit a black angus bull which was approximately 1000 pounds. immediately after we hit it, it rolled up onto the passenger side and crashed thru the windshield injuring myself (the passenger in the front). my husband was driving and we also had two passengers in the back of the car but they were not injured. i had multiple facial injuries and glass chard injures and was taken by ambulance to a hospital where i was inpatient for 10 days, 5 of those in intensive care. the most severe of my injuries were fracture of my orbital floor, fracture of my nasal bone, fracture of my malar and maxillary bones, open wound to my lip and multiple bruises and cuts. all four of us were wearing our seat belts and out of 10 airbags that the car had, not one went off. the front end of the car was severely damaged and we lost power to the car as soon as we hit the cow (no flashers, lights, etc) our car was totaled and we now have multiple medical bills to account for. our concern was that we bought the car new and it was advertised as having ten airbags for safety. after hitting a 1000 pound bull at 60 mph, why did not one air bag go off? *tr

The driver was traveling on a two lane highway in baldwin county, alabama, when she approached a right hand curve (which the driver was fully aware of). driver applied brakes so as to slow down to negotiate this curve, but when the driver applied the brakes, they did not respond. additionally, the vehicle appeared to lose power steering function. it appeared that the vehicle lost power, similar in nature to the most recent ignition defects on other gm vehicles. due to loss of braking ability, the vehicle went straight off roadway and crashed causing significant personal injury to the driver. further, the airbag did not deploy. we contacted gm, and agreed to allow gm representatives investigate the incident by downloading the esis information, with the agreement that gm would provide the owner with the results of said investigation in a readily understandable format. after downloading the information, gm denied any liability for the incident, and refused to provide the owner with the results of its investigation in a format that was readily understandable. the vehicle was recently purchased new, and had no prior issues. *tr

The vehicle has always and continues to not change gears smoothly. this occurs more at low idle speeds where the car changes from 2nd to 3rd to 4th to 3rd to 4th as if it doesn't know what gear it wants to be in. i have taken the vehicle to the dealer 3 times and they have told me that since there are no lights coming on the dash, there is no fix. i have been told by the service department this is happening in all chevy's with the 6 speed transmission. this is becoming increasingly dangerous as it is now doing it at all times in all gears. i bought the car new and have not been satisfied since the 2nd month of ownership. if chevy can't come up with a fix, why not a new computer, isn't customer satisfaction something american car makers should be striving for??? *tr

We have a chevy cruze want to know what is being done for us. we took our car for a inspection and was told we could not have our car back as the shaft was damage and they could not give us our car for safety reason. the dealer knew our car was called back two weeks before and did not notify us. if we did not take our car for inspection we would of not known. right now we still are waiting for our car. the part is not made yet and it will be a month since they took it from us. what can we do. we are still making payments on something we cannot even have even through we own it. we are getting the run around from gmc and also from the dealer. our car only has less than 5,000 miles help. *tr

The 2013 chevrolet cruze 1.8l engine (non-turbo) was installed with a "too small" disc rotor and/or pads for the front - causing the front disc rotor and/or front pads to be subjected to premature failure. my disc rotor and pads routinely fails at under 10,000 miles. gm recognized this problem and installed larger front disc rotor and pads for the 2014 cruze diesel but refuses to conduct a recall to replace the defective front disc rotor and pads causing dangerous stopping situation when the disc rotor and pads are prematurely worn out. *tr

8:30am on my way to get on i74 highway to go to work..about 2 minutes from highway. pulled out of kroger after getting gas. my car made a horrible noise and then stopped abruptly. my engine was till running, radio on, lights on etc. the car just stopped like as if you had slammed the breaks. police officer parked behind me to make sure no cars hit me from behind. we finally pushed it, in neutral, into kroger parking lot where i waited for tow truck..awhile. my car was towed to hirlinger chevrolet dealership. the dealership called me later that day and told me my right front axle had broken in half. meaning the axle was no longer attached to my wheel...now i know why the abrupt stop! if it had been another two minutes, or, if there had been a car behind me when this broke, i and whomever could have been killed! there was no warning..it just stopped. hirlinger chevrolet has had my car since april 22,2014, day of the breakdown, with no epa on the part to fix it, or do something! i called gm, they tell me there no recall, but, they are aware of the problem!! i was told 30% of the 2013 cruzes have this potential problem..which could have been disaster, but mine was the first incident of an actual breakage. are you kidding me?? they knew of the problem, ive never received a recall, and my car still sits at the dealership 20 days later and i have no answers of when its getting fixed, or what gm plans to do!! in the meantime, im making my car payment, onstar payment, sirius radio payment, on a car i don't know when is ever going to get fixed. plus they knew of this problem!! *tr

Faulty thermostat. fan starts running shortly after driving, temperature gauge does not register a temperature, coolant good, radiator good, oil good. short distance later, receive a message "a/c off due to high engine temp". called my dealership and they informed me that they replace thermostats in cruze vehicles all of the time due to this problem. *tr

At highway speeds (between 60 and 75) there is a "notchy" tug to the steering wheel. seems to happen driving straight. have to give the wheel a little pressure in a turn to get it to unlock position and make it able to turn. *tr

I was told when i took my chevy cruze in for routine service that my car was on the list for the right front axle recall. i had to drive to another state the next day, and i was very nervous--i drove 600 miles and nothing happened. i took it to the chevy dealership/service in the city where i am working temporarily and they provided me with a courtesy car. my problem is that now i need to drive home and after reading about the incidents when the axle has broken am very apprehensive. this is a great worry and inconvenience. gm needs to step up and get those parts manufactured asap. *tr

Stepped on gas pedal to accelerate, heard clicking and grinding noise, engine rived up and no forward movement. stopped vehicle, put it in park, vehicle still moved, had to apply emergency brake to secure vehicle. front half axle shaft is broken. cruze is at the dealership i purchased it from. as of today, this will be going on the fourth week without my own vehicle. gm customer service cannot help me, they keep telling me to talk to the dealership. the dealership can not get any time frame on repairs and the local gm rep will not contact me .i never did get a recall notice. it seems like no one at gm wants to make a decision on how to handle this situation. i have requested to start a by back on the vehicle because i have lost faith in this vehicle and gm products. as of today 5/13/2014 i have had no help in resolving this situation. *tr

When car warms up. sitting at light stopped car feels like its still moving forward .dealer says it is normal. feels like transmission is moving forward when stopped at light. dealer did notice problem & said it is normal. i don't think this is normal. *tr

I live in a cold climate. while driving i get a very strong odor of anti-freeze or motor fumes that are inside the cab of the vehicle. it doesn't matter if the heater fan is on or off, the odor still gets inside the car. i have had it to the chevy dealer that i purchased the car from and was first told there was nothing wrong. the second time they replaced the inside cab filter, which isn't covered by the warranty, and it still smells. my commute to work is 1 hour and within 10 miles i have been getting sick to my stomach and headaches. the car is going back to garage again today for the 3rd time and i am predicting they will again charge us to replace something that won't fix the problem or simply tell us that nothing is wrong. *js

I was at a very busy four way stop intersection, when i accelerated from the stop sign, i heard a grinding sound and had no power in drive or reverse. i put the car in park and still continued to roll backwards. i had a very long line of cars in back of me as it was 8:00 in the morning rush hour. i had no control and had to try to push the car (by myself) to the side of the road. i was horrified as this happened with my brand new car. i had to wait over an hour for a tow truck to take the car to the dealer. the dealer called me later that day to say that my right front axel is broken and that there was a recall on this car. the dealer then explained that there are no parts available to fix this problem and i could be in a rental for more than a month. i am extremely upset that i was not notified of this recall and had been driving this car with my two children in it while gm knew about this for months. how is this safe? i can't put into words how mad i am that gm put my family in this car with this safety issue. i'm glad that my kids were not with me when this happened, but my fears are that this could have happened on the highway with them in the back seat. i am contacting gm, but i won't stop until this is resolved. i am telling everyone i know and social media about the cruze recall and that it isn't safe to drive. *tr

For gm recall 2014079, regarding a potential front axle right half fracture, how can drivers, passengers, and others on the road be certain that a one-time point-in-time inspection guarantees that this fracture will never occur? i respectfully request that nhtsa require gm to perform period free inspections for this recall (e.g., every 5,000 miles) to ensure ongoing safety. *tt

I rented a chevy cruz from avis for a vacation trip. i noticed at highway speeds the car pulled to the left and as i applied pressure to correct for the drift the steering wheel would release suddenly and the car would track normally for a short time they repeat. only at speeds greater than 60 mph did i notice the problem. i was called by avis telling me the car was being recalled but the recall didn't demand an immediate return. *js

Vehicle was backed out of a driveway. driver shifted from reverse to drive. car moved forward about 20 feet and suddenly slowed to a stop. engine power remained on. clicking noise was heard from the right front side. clicking noise continued in reverse, drive, or park shifter positions. car would not move under its own power in either direction. we pushed car to side of road in neutral and called onstar this is the driveshaft recall issue on 2013-14 cruze with 1.4 turbo engines. i write because if this had happened on an interstate or in heavy traffic the consequences could have been much more dire. this car is almost 1 year old and has only 3000 miles on it. this defect is as serious as the ignition switch problem. there are 170000 of these cars out there with this same potential issue. when i spoke with gm they initially said that there was no recall on my vehicle and that i should take it to a dealer for service. when i insisted that there was a power train related recall on the car they then said that indeed there was a recall and that i could get it towed to a gm dealer. my only reason for writing nhtsa is to hopefully elevate this issue to one of more immediate importance. i have not yet received any notice from gm about this issue, and if it weren't for the extensive media coverage would probably still not know of this very serious issue. *tr

Almost from the day i leased my manual cruze i had engine dying problems. it happens when i downshift into second gear, when i stop and when i stop suddenly. it happens perhaps a few times a week. the dealership service dept. tested the car and found nothing wrong. it was suggested, tactfully, that perhaps i wasn't shifting correctly. i am almost 66 years old i learned to drive a car on a three-the-tree ford. i have owned only one automatic car in my life, and that was for four years. i really don't think i am to blame. as the gm ignition switch came to light i began to wonder. over the past few weeks gm has expanded its recall into more recent model years. to me, it is simply the gm culture when it comes to building cars. the same mentality about using bad parts was probably passed on the 2013 models. *tr

The steering wheel/rack has known issues already documented by the nhtsa. when driving, especially at speeds > 50mph, the steering wheel will "lock up" or feel "notchy" without constant driver input. when performing interstate driving you will experience the steering constantly feeling like its locking up until excessive force is used to move the steering wheel (more then a few fingers worth of strength). definitely unnatural and definitely an issue for a brand new car. started since 5k miles, vehicle has apprxoimately 15k miles now and the issue is getting progressively worse. documented online is that the steering rack has a design flaw which allows air inside the steering rack, causing the steering wheel to feel notchy or like it is locking up. being that the issue is getting worse, i expect there to be a major failure at some point and wanted this documented. online on chevrolet cruze forums there are hundreds of issues similar to my own and i believe a tsb in chevrolet's database. i am going to attempt to bring the issue to light at the local chevrolet dealership now that i have the time to actually deal with this situation (due to military/government work conflicts). i purchased a full premium warranty with the vehicle when i bought it that covers everything for 100k miles/7 years, so there should be no issues with this request of fixing/replacing the issue.

2013 chevy cruze 1lt with the 1.4 turbo engine. i have actually owned two of these cars, the first was a 2011. the complaint is about both and i suspect is the same in every one of these cars that have the 1.4 turbo. my complaint is about a possible health hazard with these vehicles. they emit antifreeze fumes constantly and gm is now claiming that this is normal and they will not fix it. shortly after i purchased the 2011 model i began to notice the smell of hot antifreeze every time i would drive the vehicle, i took it in for service several times and they done everything possible to fix it with no luck. finally after about two years of dealing with this i got tired of it and traded it off for a 2013 same model. i know that sounds stupid and was but my reasoning was that i loved the car and thought that surely gm had corrected this issue by now(i was very wrong). shortly after my purchase of the 2013 i began to smell the antifreeze again and again began the process with gm to get it fixed but as before, no luck. finally after fighting with it for several months gm has called me back and said that the smell is normal operation for this vehicle. according to them the water pump is designed to leak a small amount and the leakage is caught in a retention chamber built into the water pump them evaporated out via the heat of the engine causing the constant smell. this is ridiculous! i strongly believe that sniffing these hot antifreeze fumes all the time can't be good for you and will in the long term cause health issues. with this answer i ask gm to take the car back or at least let me trade it for another model but they are unwilling to help me any more. i know that this problem is wide spread, not just with my vehicle. if you go to cruzetalk.com and research this you will find hundreds of other people with the same complaint. thank you for looking into this for us. *tr

The steering does not feel stable. at various times mostly at highway speeds the steering feels as though there is no connection for a split second with the tie rod that controls the steering. the car will actually pull slightly and require correction from time to time. the pull can be either to the right or left and not related to any possible wind. the car had been taken to the dealer march 14, 2013, with no change in this situation. the feeling is similar to driving some of the old junks from days gone by back in the 60's where the steering was loose and required both hands firmly on the wheel and constant correction going down the road. *tr

The complaint is 1) vehicle surges when stopped at a signal or stopped while in gear. extra pressure is applied to brake pedal out of fear it will lunge forward. 2) intermittently surges drastically when you remove your foot from brakes. 3) intermittent high revving and acceleration problems. a service bulletin was performed in which repairs were made to the transmission. these repairs increased the symptoms and made it the vehicle extremely unsafe to drive. gm engineers state the car is ok. does someone have do die before the problem is corrected. a lot of people have made complaint on the edmonds.com website. someone need to look into this. *tr

I purchased a 2013 chevy cruze in june, 2013. in november of the same year, i struck a deer on a rural stretch of interstate highway at high speed (70mph). at this point there were roughly 9,000 miles on it. the air bags did not deploy, but i was unharmed. the impact caused the vehicle to do a 180 degree roll onto the shoulder, at which point i exited the vehicle to see the area near the battery smoking with a small flame coming out of it. within minutes, and before emergency vehicles could arrive the front of the car was fully engulfed in flames. *tr

In april of 2013 my 2013 chevy cruze shut off while attempting to drive off from a red light that just turned green, as soon as i stepped on the gas pedal the car just shut off. there were no other vehicles behind me so i immediately tried turning the car on but i had to put it park then start it again and continued en route and did not think anything of it. this happened twice within the next few months. the fourth incident i had a car full of family member and we were getting on the freeway on ramp slowing to come to a stop when the light turned green so as soon as i stepped on the gas pedal the car shut down and i had no control and was almost hit from behind luckily there was no car in the lane over so the truck behind me swerved into the next lane and i once again put the car in park started again and immediately called the dealership and took the vehicle into the dealership. i was told by the service department a few weeks later that they figured the problem was a low octane gas and i just needed to start using chevron only and they would give me $250 in chevron gas cards. i refused to pick up the car because i already only used chevron gas in the vehicle since i purchased it in december 2012 with only 3 miles. after 2 months of arguing back in forth about them not having a fix for the car i returned the rental and purchased a different vehicle elsewhere and filed a complaint with gm which also gave me the run around about the vehicle being fixed when it wasn't ever worked on to this day they have the car and i am now in collections and continuing this headache with gm. they said its not a recall but i have spoken to several other people including the rental company that has had the chevy cruze shut off on them as well. *tr

While driving in stop and go traffic at approximately 25mph. the car in front of me slammed on their brakes and to avoid hitting them i slammed on my brakes. it took 4-5 seconds before the brakes responded after pressing all the way down on the pedal basically standing on the pedal. i had to swerve into the next lane to avoid hitting the car in front of me. luckily there were no other cars in the other lane at the time.. i called the dealership and they said this is not normal and to bring the car in. i took it in and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with the brake system. i tried it out in my housing complex and its still doing the same thing when driving 25mph and slamming on the brakes this car is not safe and i will be looking into replacing it with something other than chevy.. *tr

I was making a right turn when there was a noise similar to a timing belt failure from under the engine and the car appeared to lose power. i pulled over and looked under the vehicle but there was no sign of damage. i restarted the engine and put it in drive and the noise recurred. i decided to call a tow truck to take the car to the dealer we bought it from in august 2013. the dealer found a broken/separated front right axle. the car is an automatic. the dealer replace the axle. i am writing this to report the incident as the car is virtually brand new. i have no complaints with the dealer. *tr

When driving i keep smelling an odor coming from the venting system when the heat is on. at times the odor is stronger than other times, and even nauseating at times. i keep telling dealership that it is a chemical smell. finally after having my car in shop twice they said that chevy did a bulletin on a "heating box" and that it is too hot and needs to be replaced. we will see if that is what it is. *tr

Steering becomes "notchy/sticky" while driving, more noticeable at higher speeds. i drive 40 miles one way to work and notice this about 95% of the time. when the temperatures are in the single digits the steering seems to be fine. dealership cannot reproduce the symptoms. they need to drive it for more than a mile. plenty of discussions on other web sites with the same issues. 2013 chevy cruze at highway speeds seems to have the steering lock or become "sticky". problem is most noticeable at speeds above 50 mph. it becomes difficult to make minor changes in direction when trying to keep the car in the lane of traffic. the "lock up" seems to be worse when correcting to the left compared to correcting to the right. this becomes a real concern when driving on icy or snow packed roads as i fear a loss of control when overcorrection due to the "sticky" steering. *tr

At highway speeds >55 the steering wheel give resistance when turning the wheel to the right to make minor lane corrections. when you get past the resistance the steering over corrects which causes you to swerve. *tr

After changing oil filter, oil sprayed in engine compartment approximately 10 minutes into drive, causing a fire in the engine compartment. all occupants were safe, but the damage is expensive. wiring harnesses, as well as master cylinder were melted. the top mounted filter is a pleated cartridge that snaps into a threaded plastic oil filter cap. a blue o-ring, included with the filter, slips over the plastic oil filter cap, past the threads. the issue seems to that two "grooves" exist after the threads towards the end by the flange. if the o-ring is placed in the wrong location (i.e. all the way to the end) this provides an inadequate seal, posing a fire hazard as described above. correct procedure is to apply the blue o-ring on the second to last groove immediately after the threads. basically, if after tightening the oil filter assembly the blue o-ring is visible, it's in the wrong location. source: local dealer. this is not related to the plastic shield modification advised in a previous service bulletin from gm regarding the 2011-12 model years.

Backing out of drive--seat belt on-car sped up at rapid accerlation--no control-ran into telephone pole--braked no results. car circled in road and crossed road--tried shifting. no resultturned off ignition just as car was to strike a big tree . car stopped. passenger side of car baddly damaged where i hit pole.

Driving the highway at approximately 55 mph, the check engine light pops on, and the car starts making light noises as if the transmission is having problems pulling. utilized the onstar button to request a diagnostic, and was informed that the transmission, and the drive train was giving error codes. i was instructed to get the car into the dealer for service within seven days. vehicle was taken in for service the very next morning by 7:45 am. was informed that the work to correct was not covered under the drive train/transmission warranty, and because of the existence of an internal bulletin the output speed sensor in the transmission was replaced. the car was sold to me with a 100,000 mile transmission and drive-train warranty. i was forced to pay the taxes of $ 14.09. *tr

Stopped at stop light on slight incline. released brake pedal and vehicle rolled backward, nearly striking vehicle behind me. took vehicle back to dealer and was told this was normal. experienced same conditions on incline several more times. took to different chevrolet dealer and was told this was normal. contacted gm and received call back. they spoke with service manager and asked me to take it back in. i took service manager with me and performed same activity twice. vehicle rolled backwards while in drive after stopping on incline and releasing brake. while rolling backwards the transmission jumped and the vehicle died. happened both times. i talked to gm corporate customer service several more times. service manager asked me to bring vehicle back in today (oct. 21). i reported same story and left vehicle at dealer. they called me back and said everything was normal. i talked to gm again and reported everything. called my auto insurance company and reported issue. this issue continues to occur and i am fearful that the vehicle may roll backwards into another vehicle or a pedestrian. i can anticipate this condition with a manual transmission and a clutch, but can not safely have one foot on the brake and the other on the gas with an automatic transmission. *tr

I decided to trade in my malibu and lease a 2013 cruze from global chevrolet, rt.22, north plainfield, nj. in march of 2013. i began noticing the problem within a few weeks. in stop and go traffic, the car lunges forward as you are switching from the brake to the accelerator. while braking, the brakes seem to freeze up and the car keeps rolling, at times 20 feet before stopping. i had the car inspected by the dealership and they test drove the vehicle and said there was nothing wrong; "new technology, computers, downshifting" is how they explained it. i keep a log in my car to record each time this occurs, as it does not happen every day. however, it happens enough that i am concerned that eventually this situation will cause an accident and serious injury. it wouldn't surprise me that in the near future there will be a recall regarding this problem or i sincerely hope there will be. *tr

I purchased a 2013 chevy cruze on may 13, 2013 test drove the car and brakes went to the floor. salesperson referred it to the mechanic. i didn't even make it off the car lot. he said he bled the brakes and all is well...still had trouble with the brakes after i was at a stop sign and my car lunges forward. i pressed on brakes harder to stop. took car back on the 28th and told mechanic what happened and he again checked the car out and said he could not find anything wrong with the car. he said he tested another new model and said he had no problems with that car. these mechanics are ignoring any concern buyers have... putting our lives and family members in danger. the above incident has happened again on occasion and the fact that these mechanics talk down to you and make you feel "plain stupid" has prompt me to initiate this complaint in hopes something gets done. *tr

While backing up into a parking space a woman decided to walk behind my car so i tried to stop. the car did not stop and the woman had to get out of the way. the car even though my foot was all the way down did not stop until the car hit a metal pole on the wall of the parking garage. as of today the car is still having problems and chevy tells me in every visit that the problems is something different.

When the vehicle is in drive and stopped either at a red light or stopping to make a turn the vehicle feels like it's moving forward (lunging forward) this occurs when the break is completely pressed down and the car is in drive. the rpm gage will flicker up and down as this is occurring. i have taking it to the dealer ship and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with my car. i feel this car is unsafe to drive because it might cause an accident one day. when it does this and im stopped at a red light i will have to put the car in neutral or park to get it to stop doing this. it doesn't happen all the time when im driving but it's occurring more commonly. *tr

I had the vehicle serviced for oil change and tire rotation on may 25. a few days later, approximately june 1, i noticed the vehicle was very hard to stop when backing out of my driveway (had to push down very hard on the brakes which did not seem to go to the floor). i also noticed that while i was stopped at red lights or behind other vehicles the car would lunge forward--not enough to hit someone because i noticed it as soon as it happened. about two weeks later i took the car to the dealership, jeff wyler chevrolet eastgate, and advised them of the problem. someone test drove the car with me in the passenger seat, and he informed me that he could find nothing wrong with the car. i do not know if he checked anything else while i was in the waiting room. at my request, he provided me with a printout documenting the visit. on july 7, 2013, while my daughter was pulling the vehicle into our garage, the brakes failed and she hit my granddaughter bicycle which, in turn, went through the drywall at the end of the garage. i have four children living at the house including an 8 and 10 year old. there is also a sign on our street indicating a deaf child lives on the street (we have only lived there since nov. 2012). we are very fortunate that a child has not been injured. there is no way to alert the deaf child that the car is coming their way since they cannot hear the horn. *tr

I have several incidents that have had occurred in a brand new 2013 chevy cruze with 7000 when the first incident occurred.. 1) the brake pedal travels too far before the brakes engage. 2) i was backing out of my driveway and had no brakes. i pushed the pedal to the floor and the breaks didnÂ??t respond. the car kept rolling. i feel that this is an extremely serious safety issue. i took it to the service department 3 times for them to fix it. i had to use a loan car for 5 days, and when i brought it seemed like they wouldn't believed what i was saying. apparently the problems was fixed, but a month and a half after 3) at various speeds, a loud squeaking noise was emitted from the vehicle when engaging the brake pedal. the technician duplicated the problem; however, he was unable to provide a remedy repair. the manufacturer was notified of the defect and hasn't solved the issue. after 6 days of having a loan car the problem was not solve. neither the managers or chevrolet the company have help me solving the problem. i think chevrolet is hiding the fact there is an issue. i see a lot of other people complain about the brakes on cruzetalk.com. i am student and full time worker and travel in parkways all the time and i donÂ??t fell safe driving the car anymore. after bringing my car back 4 times already and leaving it there for few days i asked the dealer and the company to give me my money back on the car. it seems like if they don't want to deal with the problem and don't care about customers safety. please help me! *tr

Best way to describe what happened was when i was sitting at the stop sign behind someone, with foot on the brake pedal, my car went forward about a foot or so, no gas acceleration from myself, i don't know if the gas was auto controlled, but i felt like i wasn't pushing on the brake enough even though i was, i did some investigating and i read online that other people have been having similar issues with their 2013 chevy cruze. *tr

Brake pedal travels too far before brakes engage. brake pedal nearly to floor when stopping at any speed. dealer did not resolve problem, said there were no service bulletins regarding the problem. this is a brand new car. dealer placed bright orange sticker in doorjam which states if car is in accident to call them. i could not make this up! see many other posts regarding this problem. i would like the master brake cylinder replaced on all these complaints of soft brake pedals on new cars. *tr

After driving this vehicle for 660 miles, i've noticed that there's a grinding or knocking feeling on the accelerator. i first noticed it while pulling it out of my driveway. i felt a knocking on the accelerator. it's not weather sensitive and gives the same feeling regardless of speed. it's no predictable for the knocking feeling i get on the accelerator. i drive on highway for much of my time and notice the feeling similar to my old car when the bearings started to go bad. it seems as though it's coming from the front left side. i have reported this to my dealer and they quickly have looked at it as well as taking it for a drive. after checking the car over nothing has been found to be wrong. it is now documented with the dealer. currently i have over 1k miles on it and seems to have gotten worse. *tr

On april 27, 2013, while attempting to park my car i put the car in reverse gear and all of a sudden the car jerked in the reverse so hard that if a car was directed behind me parked i would have hit it and damaged both cars. then, the car jerked forward when i switch gears to drive forward and then the car started making a loud clicking sound. then before that! i had a problem on 4/19/2013 trying to reverse into another parking area and the car did pretty much the same things as it did on april 27th. also, sometimes when i press on my brakes, coming to a full stop, the car will lounge forward while pressing on brake. this is very dangerous occurrences. i have not contact the dealer as of yet. but, i intend too asap. i have also checked for any recalls, and there are none yet as of 2013, but there are a couple of complaints only. 2012 cruze had several airbag, and engine issues. please advise! thank you *tr

2013 chevrolet cruze. consumer writes in regards to vehicle sudden acceleration when braking. *smd the consumer stated while he thought he was stopped in a parking lot, waiting for the light to change, he apparently stepped on the brakes as well as the accelerator pedal, which caused the vehicle to move into the intersection. apparently, he applied more force to the accelerator, than the brake pedal. the consumer believed the accelerator pedal was raised too high off the floor.

After driving approximately 90 miles at freeway speeds, the steering becomes "notchy". minor steering corrections become almost impossible since the steering wheel will only move in finite increments so driving the car becomes difficult, even dangerous since it is not possible to position it properly in the traffic lane. weather or temperature does not seem to affect the problem. the car steers properly on short trips but on a regular, weekly trip i make, the problem always occurs after about 90 miles. after the car is stopped (at the 130 mile mark) for a couple hours, the problem does not reoccur at start-up. dealer has been contacted and cannot duplicate the problem--but hasn't driven the car for more than a mile or so.

I was just driving along under normal driving when all of a sudden my rpms went all the way up and the car wasn't going anywhere but costing to a stop along with a loud banging sound. i was driving approximately 28mph on a street

The car at random will have a message come up that says airbag sensor. the car shuts down on you and will not start until car is put in park, raise hood, then roll down driver window in traffic. this sometimes work first try but not always. this cause a huge safety issue. if the airbag deploys i could potentially be left paralyzed. since i've had a cervical fusion

While driving radio cuts in and out for 5-10 seconds, the infotainment screen goes blank, the service stabilitrak light flashes, other warning lights flash, and you have to raise the driver's window down and back up for the information screen to show your speed and mileage when starting the car. apparently this is a common problem with this vehicle and its ashamed that gm has not recalled this vehicle to fix these issues. hopefully they will soon before something awful happens to innocent people. bought the car used from a car dealership at a good deal, guess i know why now.

Brake pedal becomes difficult or impossible to compress resulting in difficulty bringing the vehicle to a complete stop. seems to occur at low speeds. there have been 4-5 occurrences in the last 3-4 months. bringing vehicle to dealer for evaluation. car has 45000 miles.

All the wheel hubs went bad at 40k miles. they all made very loud vibrations while driving at speeds between 25-75. they are supposed to last 300k. not covered under any warranty.
