Excessive use of oil

The paint and/or clear coat is peeling off over most of the body now. It starting as small spots and now is growing all over the car even though the mileage is low (~100k). I have not fixed this issue yet.

Paint on the back half of my 2007 Accord has turned flat black compared to the glossy black on the front half. This LXE is the TOP OF THE LINE car Honda makes in the Accord line. It rides great but looks embarrassingly bad. Never buy Honda again, ever….they go cheap on materials.

Tuesday, January 26th, 2016, approx.9:45PM, my wife and I were traveling home from New Jersey back to New York through highly populated traffic and pedestrian zones. Our 2007 Honda Accord 4cyl, sedan with 59,700 miles came to a stop while traveling approx 20mph as we passed an intersection due to driver side curtain and seat deploying without cause. No other vehicle/pedestrian was involved, fortunately, and no damage was done to our vehicle. However the airbags strictly on the driver side, that are NOT part of a recall, deployed/malfunctioned thus potentially may have caused a serious or fatal accident had another vehicle or pedestrian been nearby. Local dealer, Paragon in Woodside, appraised damage and cost of repair at $6,000.00 parts and labor. The service engineer concluded any dips in roads, potholes, hills, basically landscapes that direct/force the front of a vehicle forward could potentially set off the sensor for airbag deployment. Contrary to their ‘professional’ statement our vehicle did not see such a scenario where only driver side of vehicle would require airbags being deployed. Should the road conditions been severve all airbags should of deployed. Having said that this should not be the case. Should their statement be “true” consequently airbags would be going off with no accidents more often, and this would be a regular repair and putting a greater population at risk. We believe the driver side malfunctioned and we cannot be held reponsible when this safety feature is out of our control. We cannot stress this enough that there was NO accident. Vehicle was moving in a straight line 20mph going through a green light, on a modest incline downhill at best. Bear in mind I’ve driven through that intersection on a regular basis and this has never happened before. I would happily re demonstrate going through the same intersection to show this cannot happen if airbags are in good standing order. Please tell me how are we accountable for airbags malfunction in this case and be expected to pay for a manufacturers defect at $6,000.00 when the vehicle is not worth that figure. It does not stand to logic, moral, ethical, nor professional conduct by Honda.The airbags thag deployed are NOT part of a recall our VIN 1HGCM56497A140479
Researching we have found a Recall for 2001-04 and 2008-09 Accord that describes identical symptoms. Convientely our 2007 is not applicable for same repair required.

While driving freeway speed spark plug in #4 cylinder was ejected. Damaged the ignition coil, engine cover, hood then rolled into fender and started a fire.

2007 Honda Accord EX-L (in excellent condition) was pulled into a parking space and stopped. When driver transitioned the gearshift from Drive to Park, the car suddenly accelerated, jumped the curb, crossed a (soggy) grassy median of about 10 feet, and crashed into a second (parked) car with enough velocity to push the second car into a third (parked) car. All efforts to stop the Honda in its acceleration were unsuccessful. The car was taken to the dealership from which it had been purchased new and serviced regularly. After three months of haggling, the dealership repurchased the car; Honda, however, refused to acknowledge any problem with the car.

THERE WAS A HONDA CIVIC PAINT RECALL ON 03-07 MODELS. I THOUGHT GREAT THIS WILL TAKE CARE OF MY ISSUES WITH MY PAINT OXIDIZING – I BROUGHT MY CAR INTO MY LOCAL DEALER AND LO AND BEHOLD THE RECALL DID NOT COVER MY VIN NUMBER. I THINK HONDA IS BEING VERY DECEITFUL AND HAS NO INTENTIONS OF TAKING CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH THIS POOR QUALITY OF PAINT THEY HAVE PUT ON THEIR VEHICLES.

I have a 2007 Red Honda Accord that I’ve only had for a few years and my paint has peeled along with its clear coat making it look rusty on the hood and trunk of my car. It seems to be due to the quality of primer and paint that Honda uses. Can something please be done about this?

The driver seat to the 2007 Honda Accord is incredibly umcomfortable. I believe it causes poor posture and occupational injuries when I drive the car consistently on my daily commute. I commute a daily round trip of 1.5 hours. In 2012 I noticed how umcomfortable the seat was becoming. I could not find a good posture, and ultimately was diagnosed with myofascial trigger points with comorbid spinal pain as a result of driving in the car. I am not overweight, very slim actually. I have no other pre-existing conditions. My wife also complains that the seat causes her back pain when she uses it temporarily. The head rest protrudes and pushes the head forward into a chin-to-chest position. The sides of the seat cup the shoulders and back, pushing the shoulders forward and promoting a slouch or sideways sitting posture. I believe this is a design flaw.

All the paint above the rear window has chipped away. The paint in the side wells of the trunk has started to do so also. All of my wheel covers are pitted.

Well one day I got into a small fender bender. I had my hood and bumper replaced. I also had them repainted the color of my car. However, after about a year I noticed my hood was have spots on the front like little dots some bigger than others. I notice that the paint was coming off in theses spots. No where else has the paint come off. I don’t understand how if the paint is OEM paint for the vehicle.

Total paint loss on the roof of vehicle, numerous spot on hood and front side panels growing larger weekly. Looks distgusting. VERY embarrassing.

Haven’t made any attempts to fix the paint on our own yet, but noticed it flaking last year and it concerned me. Research online shows it as being a hopeless cause to go to the dealer. Currently, pricing out options to get it repainted and then sold. After owning Honda’s for all my life, this has become my last Honda to own. It’s a shame, but after this paint issue it is completely embarrassing to drive it around. My other vehicle, a 2004 Jeep has no paint issues.

Accord SE: I was a driver of this car (not a auto mechanic). Two cars were hit by my car at big Costco Gas parking lot where I was awaiting my turn to proceed to gas pump. I shut my engine down like others doing. When I start engine, I heard big noise “Woong-Woong, Wing-Woong”. I ignored it cause I believed that was not noise from my car (I’ve never heard of that kind noise before). When I stepped my right foot on the brake, my car jumped forward and hit the front car and then another car to the right. This happened in less than 3 sec.

Shortly after purchasing this vehicle it was noticed that the rear brakes were not working properly………………..upon checking them it was noticed that they were severely worn and the rotors were badly scored. I am amazed that the rear brakes of this vehicle would wear out and destroy the rotors in such little mileage. After checking online, it appears that this is a common problem for the Honda Accord (and I wish I had known before purchasing this vehicle). I am hesitant to drive this vehicle now because of this safety concern. I believe that Honda should be responsible for replacing the brakes and rotors on this vehicle instead of expecting me to repair their oversight / use of inferior brake systems.

at high speeds when appling bakes it would pull and bang and not stop properly and i took car into honda and made minor adjustment they never found the problem and it continued for a long time and on my last visit they told me they finally found the problem and that it was out of warrantee and would cost me $ 821.87 which I paid and now all problems are gone.Honda waited until the car was out of warrantee before they fixed an unsafe condition,bad reputation for honda

Brand new 2007 honda accord lx purchased the car on february 16, 2007. on february 19, i started the car and the srs indicator lamp stayed lit the entire time the car was operating. each time i started the car later on that day, the srs lamp did not stay on after the initial start-up. on february 20, i drove to work and did not have a problem with the light staying on, but later in the day when i started the car the srs lamp came on and stayed on the entire time i drove it. the car has a total of 150 miles and already am having srs sensor glitches. *nm

I own 07 accord everything has been working properly i have owned about 2 years no problems yesterday going about 30 miles an hour my passenger lower ball joint broke of and the axle broke as well it was scary no prior signs or indicators that something like this would happen

While making a left turn at low speed (10 mph) and getting back up to speed on the highway (55mph speed limit), the vehicle lost the power connection to the wheels. the engine was revving as the gas pedal was being depressed, but the car was slowing down. shifting the transmission to different gears (from d to d2, d1) did nothing. the highway was 2 lanes and there was not a lot of traffic, so luckily the 2 cars behind me were able to brake and switch lanes around me without causing an accident, while i was able to maneuver the vehicle from the left lane to the right shoulder. evaluation by an ase certified shop at a luther dealership revealed that the drive shaft (drivers side) snapped into two pieces at the junction that is inside a rubber component. the shop disclosed to me that there are two recalls out for this exact issue by honda motor company, but my specific vehicle is not part of the recall. there are two separate recalls related to this problem per consumer reports. the 2013 through 2015 honda accord sedans are part of recall #20v769. the 2013-2015 acura ilx, 2013 acura ilx hybrid, 2012 honda civic hybrid, and 2007-2014 honda fit vehicles are part of recall #20v770.

On startup, vehicle makes loud grinding noise coming from power steering. vehicle is tough to turn left and right when in motion. bubbles in power steering reservoir. power steering fluid is leaking from hose that travels towards front of car and from power steering pump. car has been sitting since nov 2020 and i checked vehicle today and power steering fluid is still leaking from both hoses. vehicle makes louder grinding noise when turning and is very stiff

Well i went to go look at a 2007 honda accord on dec/4/2020 in chicago,il & when i first picked up the vehicle it had 93,000 miles on it i even took it for a test driver around the block on 6430 s ellis it was driving fine into the check engine light came on soon as i left from getting my plates for the car so i decided to get it fixed just because i knew it had low miles so a month pass then my heater valve was broken my car started smoking on the highway so i let the car cool down & headed to the honda downtown dealership to see what’s the problem that’s when the ran a diagnose they find multiple parts broken( rear sway bar link, heater valve, wheel alignment, windows, input & output hose, & purge valve) i tried my best to get everything fix on the car but i don’t have enough money to make sure this car drive how it supposed too

I bought this car in december 2015. now in november 2016 my car started smoking under the hood. took it to dealership and discovered recall. why wasn't this fixed before flagstaff nissan sold this car to me??? i specifially asked about recalls and i was told there were none!! this recall was done in 2012 so why couldn't they figure that out before selling it????

I'm complaining because i have dealt with two dealerships and honda on numerous occasions. i am getting tired of receiving notices for the same thing over and over again. my honda case # 04732018. can someone please update my record so i can stop getting notices?

Lower ball joint comes apart while driving which causes the axle to come out of the transmission, thus destroying the axle and the oil pan cover. *tr

All windows other than drivers window quit working. it is not window lock, the switches click like they are getting signal but they do not work. only drivers window works. they all quit all at once.

Heat and air stopped working. only one window will go down bright lights stopped working. doors will lock by themselves. cd player stopped radio stopped but started again

Took car to honda for steering recall. all they could do was tell me what else i needed. power steering is not working . having breaks put on and guy shows me my power steering fluid leak all over. they never fixed the problem when i took it in to be fixed.

Takata inflators. my vehicle appears on lists of affected vehicles and new jersey has now become a zone 2 state, yet my vehicle has not been recalled to replace the inflators and i have not received any explanation as to why. i called honda and nhtsa and have been told only that my vin is not on the recall list - i know that - that is the very reason for my concern. i do not trust that only the recalled vins are at risk. it is unacceptable that specific information about my vehicle and its airbags is not being provided. even the high-level general criteria provided by nhtsa and honda changes frequently, and recalls keep expanding after the facts of new deaths and injuries. also, the notion of waiting for takata analyses, previously falsified is not reasonable at all, let alone until dec 2019. nhtsa needs to see to it that all of the listed / affected vehicles be recalled for replacement of airbags/inflators now or that loaner cars be provided now. also, nhtsa needs to see to it that we are given specific information on the particular airbags in our cars along with detailed information on why each has not yet been recalled.

Steering wheel is becoming increasingly difficult to turn. once turned the wheels do not reenter themselves as they should. manual intervention is required to recenter the steering. all other variables checked (tires, air pressure, etc.) and verified as correct. this occurs at all speeds, slow to highway.

Takata recall. performance honda in bountiful utah took my airbag recall submission months ago and i have repeatedly contacted them and i still have no replacement. i received the form where it advised that if i had not received one in 60 days to go to this website. it has been much longer than 60 days.

"takata recall" passenger side airbags on the right side failed to deploy upon right side impact. severely injuring my passenger.

Unintended acceleration while braking. this has happened to my wife on a number of occassions when approaching a stop sign or red light. thid has also happened to me a few times - twice in the past week.

While driving approximately 20 mph, the front ball joint and axle broke and ended up on the ground.

Last year i was driving when my ball joint broke. if i was going high speeds my kids and i would've been in a bad accident. now yesterday, my friend with the same make model and year had the same thing happen to her. her ball joint broke when driving.. luckily not at high speeds. will there be a recall on this issue?

While sitting in traffic the first two times the air conditioning has gone out on the car. it has been repaired by honda under warranty three times and has now gone out a fourth time. it has been taken to a dealership and hooked up to a machine and found no problems showing. possible problem has been given as parts broken loose and lodged in the unit itself.

A weak power steering pressure hose leak is a fire hazard & may have a recall...per mechanic on 7/26/16 car has 101,000 miles. i just bought car 6/16 & took in for oil change. i am leery of driving car very far so checking for recall before investing any further.

I put the all four windows down before driving. after i arrived at my destination, i put all four windows up, later on that day before leaving my destination, i tried to put the windows down. the only window that would go down was the driver side window. the other windows would make a clicking sound, but wouldn't go back down. this seems to be a common problem in many honda accord models. it would be great if the company would fix this problem, honda owners are very loyal customers and it would be greatly appreciated by many of us. this problem makes me a little skeptical about buying another honda.

The car stops moving even though it's turned on. in park it started rolling. no matter what gear its in it did not move when my foot was on the gas. i also have a power steering leak. both which are a part of a recall so i don't know why my car isn't on this list.

Defected air bags on both side. had several accidents where i was injury, and had to seek medical attention.

02/09/17 2007 honda accord traveling on snow covered road during snow storm. delivery vehicle ahead of accord stops, accord driver is unable to stop and strikes telephone pole head-on, dead center. driver sustains non-life threatening injuries. liberty mutual ins. declares accord a total loss. both driver and passenger side air bag inflators were replaced on 03/16/2016. non of the air bags in the accord were deployed. on 03/01/17 case manager at honda of north america stated "...the air bags were not designed to deploy in this type of crash." honda na case #05732797

My drivers seat moves back and forth when braking/applying gas pedal. this is a huge safety concern. i almost on several occasions hit the car in front of me because of this constant motion when driving. my mechanic does not know how to fix this problem and he also consulted a honda dealership and they could not help. very unhappy with honda. seems they're disconcerned with this important safety issue. my two kids are now banned from driving my car until we get another car. i love honda's but i refuse to put up with this. i'm currently looking at other car manufacturers.

Rear windshield shattered. car was parked and when driver side door was closed the rear windshield just shattered into pieces.

I was driving on a city road/side street at approximately 25 mph, when i turned right onto another street the vehicle jerked or seized slightly, could not control the steering and heard metal scraping on the road. stopped vehicle immediately. front passenger side of tire popped off was turned at about 45 degree angle and broke off the arm, ball and joint. this occurred on a relatively smooth road, no obstacles in road. did not hit a pothole when this occurred or other object, the tire and ball and joint just broke off the arm. i believe it also damaged the drive shaft.

Received attached notice that my car has one or more takata inflators that could create a risk of injury. my wife and i still own this 2007 accord and it has not been recalled.

I was driving regularly at the normal speed limit and hit a huge pothole more like a crater and now i immediately got a flat tire on which is a brand new tire. i should not have to pay for this

The right axle broke while making a turn in feb 2019 on my 2007 accord with a manual transmission because of corrosion. i live in northeast ohio where the roads are heavily salted. there has been a recent recall on 2007 honda fit for the same problem

Car begun to behave strangely, shifting late, too soon, randomly, so i took it to 4 shops here in houston and the common resolution or opinion from the 4 mechanics is that those transmissions are too weak for the engine the come with, so they advice to stop driving and junk the car, that trasnmission swap goes for 2400-4000$ and i dont have that money. now going back home the car started slipping the 4th and 3rd gear and put me in risk due to the fact that i was on the highway and the transmission went from 4th or 5th to 2nd while doing 50mph to the point i had to stop and get the car towed, i ended up junk ing the car. now my question is, my car had 120.000, no other recall on trasnmission, all mechanics know those transmissions are weak, nissan altimas up to 2011 had a recall on their really bad cut transmission and honda doesn't, it would be nice if nhtsa opens an investigation on this and make honda replace bad transmissions or pay up people who ended up taking the cars to a junkyard or refund transmission replament/repair costs.

Ignition destroyed

First of all i’m really surprised to find out that honda does not have a recall for the a pcm - ecm power relay. this should be a safety issue. basically while driving my car if i have the heat on the vehicle will turn off when i slow down or come to a stop. if i flash my high beams the car would shut off (while at a stop). finally i took my car to a friend and their auto link tester read p0685-ecm- pcm. he told me to take it to a dealership which i did and had to pay for a diagnostic and the agent there inform me that the software needed to be updated. now for 2 months i have been driving my vehicle that i have own for over 10 years, and every now and then it turns off on me when i’m at a red light, stop sign and sometimes when i slow down. there has been 2 times that i was almost hit from behind because the vehicle turns off. for years i have always purchased honda accord but with them not owning up to things that are happening with their vehicles as far a safety issue i might have to look into purchasing another make and model when i purchase my next vehicle. honda needs to do a recall on these model of accords so people can their vehicle into a dealership to have their electrical software updated.

I can't get this done because it will take at least half a day at a dealership that is about 45 miles from where i live (and work) and they don't offer remote repair. ford does, but apparently honda does not, so i can't get this taken care of. i am unable to spend half of a work day in the city sitting at a dealership waiting for my car.

I had returned home from christmas shopping at 9 in the evening on 12/10/16. i drove up my driveway put my car in park, pressed the automatic garage door opener which is on my visor and the door opened but my garage light did not come on. i left my headlights on for this reason and the engine on. i went. out and emptied the back seat of all the christmas packages and walked in the house through the garage. i went to the front door to bring in a box from ups and then went to the garage and was shocked to find my car in there crushing my washing machine. all of this in a span of no more than 3 minutes. the car went in straight so there was no damage to the structure to my single car garage. if my washer didn't stop it, it would have gone through the house. i had a $700 speed queen washer that was only 3 years old. i checked online to see if my car had ever been recalled for this issue and found a nhtsa campaign #11v39500 announced on 08/04/16 involving 1,512,107 vehicles. i called the service dept of honda of ocala with my complaint and necessary information including vin # and they never returned my call. i called honda corp. at 1-800-999-1099 and spoke to olivia. she informed me that my vin # was not included in the recall, asked my if i had reported this to my insurance company and would i give her the name of my insurance company. she said this was a matter for the accident division. i did not have an accident. she said i should receive a call from the accident division.. i bought this car used about 3 years ago from honda of ocala and it is almost paid for and i can not afford to trade it in. now it can't leave it running in my driveway to cool off or at 6 am to defrost on our freezing winter mornings before i head to work.. please can i get some help from you. thanks. Takata recall, have not received a notice to have vehicle repaired at this time. when i call my dealer i was told part will be in during this summer, then this fall. it is now winter and still no luck on getting inflater replaced.

Aeolus steering acexas au02 tire developed three bulges in the sidewall after 8k miles. tire was maintained and did not run flat or was in an accident or struck any object.

My vehicle airbag light turned on twice within the last 5 months. each time it stayed on when i started my car. after a quick internet research i learned that with the airbag light on my airbags would not deployed if i were in an car accident. the first time it happened i took it into a honda service center for testing. i was told that i needed to replace my battery because the low voltage could be the cause. after replacing the battery the light turned off and everything was good. months later, the airbag light turned on again. i took my car to another honda service center and had it tested once again. this time i was told that my srs control unit needed to be replace due to corrosion/old age. after researching this further, i found that there is a recall on the srs control unit for honda vehicles. unfortunately, this recall excluded my particular year. i understand that this is public safety issue and i believe that honda should expand this particular recall to other years. others may not be as proactive in taking their vehicle in for testing or paying for the test and unit out of pocket. this is a huge safety issue that needs to be review before someone outside the recall classification gets injure or worse.

All lateral air bag exploded by itself. i was driving at 25 miles per hour in a city street and i hear an explosion and i saw smoke and weir smell . no one was around . no reason to explode . i stopped the car and got out safe .

Driving home from airport after returning home late at night my car randomly accelerated and drive light started blinking. car then drive normal a few more min b4 doing this again jumping on its own while only going 15 mh up to 2 and 3000tpm. i pulled over turned off car then back on. car was fine the next 5 mile home. the next morning i drove 15miles fine when the car started this again. i pulled over noticed slight smoke but was less than 1 mile from safety so i tried making it. the car again jumped at low speed up to 3000 rpm and stayed there. breaking and going on it's own. once i made it to safety i parked car. upon getting it towed found that my axel came unseated during this and lost all tran fluid. car wouldn't go into any gear. upon reseat of axel and replace tran fluid car seems to be ok. after reading all these other people with similar issues i'm thinking that the axel was not the issue but the result of whatever the real issue is that caused it to unseat to begin with. if it wouldn't of been the middle of the night and early morning i would of myself or someone else. i'm terrified of my car now. luckily i was on a neighborhood street both times

I have an intermittent buzzing noise when the car is running. it gets louder and more often when the car warms up. i took it to my local honda dealership named o'donnell honda in ellicott city, md. the supervisor mr. jerry furr of the service department said he never heard of a diode in the alternator yet i found on google that this video showed that exact problem. i also came in to get my glove box repaired because it is almost impossible. they said it would be extremely expensive because they would have to replace the complete glove box. so, they said just pull on the bottom of the door of the glove box and it may or may not open with trial and error. that glove box was probably defective when it was new. i bought this car from carmax in 2010. this problem with the glovebox should have been fixed in 2007 when the car was new. so, i spent several hours at the dealership and they gave me back my car without doing anything and they charged me $69. what a waste!

I just bought the car and had it 1 week and i was driving to work when the check engine light came on suddenly and car started misfiring. this happened right when i was stopped at a light and turned on my a/c. 3 codes came on which were p0420, p0139, and p2647. i was told i need to reprogram the powertrain control module. i have seen many recalls on here for that same thing but when i put my vin number in it says 0 recalls for my car. i just really feel it is related to campaign 11v395000

The power steering on my car is stiffening, it's hard to steer. the vsa light is on along with check engine light. i took my car into finlay honda in flagstaff, az after i found there was a recall on the power steering. i had a new power steering pump put in before i saw the recall notice, so therefore i took it in to finlay honda but, recall was not performed due to an aftermarket power steering replaced in my car. the power steering pump worked ok for awhile, but it is beginning to steer hard and i haven't been driving it due to the safety issue. i can not afford to buy a new pump and hose from the dealer, and besides it's on recall no matter what. the power train and the tranny are in great condition and i would like to keep on driving this great vehicle as long as possible. i would like to take it to another dealer (melloy honda) here in nm if the recall is still honored. at the moment my car is just parked at home. like i said it is hard to steer when i drive it. i will need the car for transportation back and forth to work soon, as i will be going back to work in august. i appreciate you looking into this matter and will look forward to a response from you as soon as possible. thank you

In 2015,and 2019 i received a notice from honda and the dmv re: air bag inflater for driver and passenger side. both were replaced. the drivers side on 05/13/19 as per bulletin a19030b ser# 25082300733507, the passenger side 07/01/15 bul 15-041c ser# 25028180087416 by della honda plattsburgh, ny 518 563-7686.

Bought used 2007 accord from dealer that had put on new yokohama avid ascent tires mfr'd in 2015 (cc2084p2715, cc2084p0815, p205/60r16 91t). two yrs and 25k miles later, one tire went flat and couldn't be repaired. figured just ran over something and replaced. now, 4 yrs and 45k miles later another tire is splitting apart along the edge of the tread and sidewall, with the other two starting to show similar but less separation. tire has 80,000 mi warranty yet appears to be unsafe. attaching a photo. will take it to a tire dealer who sells yokohama and see if they can help in anyway.

Passengers air bag light is always on

The daughter was driving the 2007 honda accord when her vehicle was pushed into another car.the daughter experienced back strains and whip lash. the vehicle was towed to the home address. a police report was filed. no other passengers were in the vehicle. the air bags did not deploy. the crash occurred october 23, 2019. approximate failure mileage 197,000. bh

We were driving, and the passenger side and seat airbags deployed but did not inflate. the passenger seatbelt is now permanently locked so you can’t even have anyone in the passenger seat. there was no collision and nothing in the road that we could have hit. we had a local honda service manager take a look at it briefly and he said he couldn’t see why they deployed.

Broken axle near vibration damper leaving the car unable to go frontwards or backwards under power. this happened at a red light in the fast lane of a four lane highway. rusted through at vibration damper which is a poor design.

Having transmission issues. it does not shift into gears smoothly when decelerating or letting off the gas. it jerks especially when decelerating about 25 mph and 35 mph. could become a safety hazard when it sticks to gears.

The srs unit and seat belt locking unit needs to be replaced. the srs unit and seat belt locking unit that locks the seat belt in place when it's in an accident are given codes in my 2007 honda accord and needs to be replaced. there have been 8 recalls on the 2007 honda accords regarding the air bags. there were recalls on the 2008 - 2009 honda accords srs unit where honda did replace the srs units for free. this 2007 honda accord was purchase in july of 2007 and by july of any year the next years models are already out on the car lots as well. since 2008 honda accords were already on the lots there is a chance that the same srs unit that was recalled in the 2008 - 2009 honda accords could be in my 2007 accord. the honda service guy working my ticket asked when was the car in a front end collision. my car has never been in a front end car collision. he said that this is usually when these codes happen. the codes mean that the airbags have been deployed which they have not. my mother and i have been the only owners and i have been the only driver. honda of american said "at some point and time the owner has to take responsibility for repairs". i have for all repairs that have been done to the car, but with all the recalls and them stating "they wouldn't have replaced airbags in a car when the airbags had no chance of deploying". that is exactly the case in this instance. the airbag codes were displayed and diagnosed before the airbags were replace with this last recall. as long as the check airbag light is displayed the airbags will not deploy. the honda service tech said this. honda states "if they get enough complaints and come to the conclusion that the parts are defective then they will reimburse me". how many complaints do you have to have before there there is an investigation to see if the parts are defective.

Within a couple weeks of getting vehicle from a and z motors in clute, to 77531 the front suspect starting squeaking i’m not for sure what the issue is, front hood doesn’t set right like it was wrecked but they never told told me if it had ever been in a wreck, all the windows do not roll down, catalic converter rattles when taking off. i have seen that the vehicle could have a recall and it could be and issue that could kill myself kr others in a roll over.

Was driving on main road of subdivision at approximately 30 mph the car suddenly lost a lot of power. would not accelerate past 20 mph even when pressing on accelerator. accelerator pedal sensor stopped working.

I've had my power steering pump and rack & pinion replaced. power steering is still tough, feels like i'm turning the wheel with 40lb weights on each side of it. suspension is failing, hitting a bump makes my car feel like the suspension is pushing up and makes it float momentarily and makes a slight noise while driving. both cv axles failed front side at the same point of that rubber grommet in the middle, water gets trapped under it and makes it rust out....both of them snapped while i was driving at different points.

When driving in the rain wind shield defrost is not working because heating is not going to the windshield. i have to use cloth to wipe in side windshield to drive, it is impacting visibility. heavy rain i have to stop during on the road. i feel like danger to drive car.

My heat and air sensor went out in my car. when i cut my air or heat on, it does nothing at all but show up on the screen.

Vehicle lost control suddenly while making u-turn. after this incident, i had to tow away this to my residence address. vehicle starts but doesn't move in drive or reverse mode. same is condition with d1, d2, d3. when put back to 'park gear', it makes annoying and very loud noise that tends the driver to turn ignition off.

Check engine light came on, car acts like it has no power on take off, shifting hard, once up to maybe 40 mph car begins jerking and the a/c and heat stopped working correctly at almost the same time within a day or two. i can turn the air on and it will blow for maybe 20 seconds then just completely stop blowing which being it all happened at practically the same time is fishy to me. the car only has 156k miles and i can't afford to continue making payment and pay a couple thousand to get it fixed. this is crazy i thought honda was supposed to be a great car.

Takata inflators. received april 2019 nhsta recall 19v-182 in mail. next day called gunn honda where vehicle purchased & requested appointment to address recall. provided vin, dealer rep found car and my name in their system. rep told me all recall appts had to be made by service advisor & someone would call me by next day. no call received so i called again the next day. i explained this car would be driven by my son when he returned from college & so needed to have this safety issue addressed before he drove car. rep again told me only service advisor could make a recall work appt & that she would mark my call a priority & i would hear back later that day. few days later, still no call. called third time, again told a service advisor would call me with appt for recall work. four weeks later, gunn honda dealership service advisor has still not called. clearly, this dealership has no concern for their customers' safety & the need for action on a nhsta mandated recall. today, i filed an online report with american honda to report the dealership's refusal to schedule recall work. the gunn honda dealership has a blatant disregard for the safety of the vehicle they sold to me. clearly, deaths and injuries have occurred because of these malfunctioining inflators yet they will not address the (second) recall. what is the point of issuing a recall when the car owner is unable to obtain the repair at the dealership where they purchased the vehicle? yesterday, i drove the vehicle to a honda dealership located at a further distance from my home and this dealership (hill country honda) addressed the recall work. please note my attempts to obtain an appt & waiting to get a response from gunn honda occurred over an abt 6 week period that began with my receipt of the 19v-182 recall notice in april.

I had to replace rear suspension within first year & honda dealer told me is very common; bad suspension on 07 hondas, but once replaced will last forever-so why not a factory defect!? then at 3 years something in front suspension, same story. now the vtc actuator needs replacement-rumbling noise at startup for less than a minute, which i’m finding out is the case with a lot of hondas now, old & brand new. old hondas used to last; used to be excellent & all i’ve driven past 25 years. now the honda brand is unreliable - loyal honda owners like me, after 25 years driving only honda, are switching brands. honda is not the reliable car it once was. i will never buy honda again because of major problems i had on my 07 right from the start (i bought my 07 honda brand new in 08) & had problems i never saw before in the past even with 15+-year old hondas.

The cd radio has stopped working. it makes clicking sounds and says mecha error. now i can't play or eject any of my 6cd's. i am very mad a frustrated!!! all i did was turn on the car and the radio.

Takata recall; (unknown)while starting my vehicle on yesterday i noticed my airbag symbol was illuminated on the dashboard for about 10 seconds. i started to drive and it went out 10 mph, also the passenger side airbag illuminates as well at speeds of 65 mph and goes out, maybe 2 months now.

In 2010 i purchased a 2007 honda accord. price of the vehicle was 18000. in the city of selma, at selma dealership. i was not informed that both sides of the airbags didn't work. my first car accident happened in 2011, and the airbags did not flare up. every year after that accident i had multiple accidents fire damage and more. in 2012 or 2013 i call the honda corporate office and informed them that my airbags didn't work. the supervisor at the time did nothing when i had filed a complaint against the company. i also went to the dealership in semla where i brought the car, and they informed me that nothing they could do about it. sometime in 2016 i went to a paint shop and couldn't get the vehicle painted because of the defected airbags. macco paint shop showed me a document where my honda 2007 had a recalled on airbags. in 2017 some documents came where they where suing honda for the defect airbags, i sign documents to receive five-hundred no later than feb. 2018. i have not received any money and i sure have .

I was driving on i95 at 10:00 pm on monday, oct. 8, 2018 when i heard a loud bang. the right side airbag had spontaneously deployed. there was no collision, no impact, no other damage. fortunately, there were no passengers in the car at the time.

Takata recall my 2007 honda accord airbag light has been on for the past 3 weeks, it stays, on the whole time i'm driving. someone was fatally injured by the shrapnel a couple weeks ago when the airbag deployed, this make me extremely nervous. i'm not sure what my next step should be. this is the only vehicle that i have. i paid this car off last year. i cannot afford another car payment or a rental car at this time. if someone could get back to me and with information and or suggestions as to what i should do. i did submit a claim for the takata class action lawsuit but i'm not sure how long i will have to wait before i will know the outcome. i would appreciate it if someone would contact me as soon as possible regarding this urgent matter. i can provide photos if needed.

I was driving about 40 miles per hour when i lost control of my steering wheel, i couldn't control it, the car slid to the oncoming traffic where i hit a oncoming car, my air bag deployed i had a seat belt, which the both did more damage to my chest then the accident itself. my car is considered totalled.

My car has had engine issues for the last almost 8 years. burning oil at a massive rate. it also stalls with this sudden jerk and rocking sensation when accelerating/shifting at a low speed. i bought my car brand new but first began experiencing this rocking sensation in november of 2008 while driving down a slight incline at a low speed on a street. this rocking stopped on its own for quite a while. then in april 2011 it began again where at honda’s diagnosis and recommendation they took my engine apart and “fixed” the problem when it later arose in 2014. this issue has now escalated to the engine stalling when i drive over 80 miles an hour - acceleration suspends until the speed drops back down to 70 miles an hour. it’s so unsafe but became predictable and normal. in all of this my check engine light will not go off hence causing the car to fail emissions tests. i have brought this up to my local honda dealership along with excessive burning of oil. i have performed the oil consumption test for the dealership to say that my consumption - though clearly excessive and very dark - is technically within honda’s parameters. every time i re-visited either issue i was given the run around and now deemed by many mechanics even at honda to not put anymore money into the car. the diagnoses went from o2 sensor to cam chain to now the rocker arm. in 2014 when honda supossesly “fixed” the cam chain i was explicitly told that this was the reason my car jerked and rocked but clearly that was a fabrication. my car presently burns at minimum 2 quarts of oil a week. upon recent research i saw a recall on 2007 honda accor engines for stalling but my vin number was not included.

Takata recall-my driver & passenger side airbags were replaced due to recall. as i was driving about 1-2 weeks ago, my airbag light came on for no reason. i had nobody in the car with me and the dash stated my passenger airbag was off. i assume it stays off unless i have a passenger weighing x amount of lbs. concerned.

My son and his friend were both wearing their seatbelts and they ran the light on yellow since it was not safe to stop because of the speed he was going. which anything above 35 makes it unsafe. and of course the person took off being careless herself. and of course an accident occurred, but the honda airbags did not deployed and the seatbelts became loose so both my son & his friend had to brace themselves from the impact of the accident. because the seatbelts became loose and now they don’t work at all and the airbag light is on. as if the airbags were suppose to deployed and never did. *tr

The locks on my car will not open. regardless of the wireless entry or manually opening with a key or even from the inside. this is a safety hazard because when attempting to unlock the doors, the door unlocks then locks. the doors will not open under any circumstances. this is a severe hazard as my children were locked in the car and i had to take necessary measures to get in the car through the trunk to get them out. honda said there is no recall on this item and i find this unacceptable. i cannot afford to fix this and this is something that is dangerous and should be covered by honda to fix. please help me so i can get into my car and drive safely without knowing ill be stuck in the car.

I took my 2007 honda accord ex v6 coupe into bob howard honda when recall 12v222000 was placed on my car. they took my car in and spent way longer than it should have to fix my vehicle. they stated that they had problems during the fix. ever since then, my power steering does not hold fluid. it drains constantly.

The front and back passenger window as well as the front passenger side airbags deployed while the vehicle was in motion. the car was not involved in any type of accident.

I was traveling on hwy 5 in lancaster sc at 60 mph at night when a loud noise that sounded like a huge tree limb or something big and heavy fell on top of my car. i have a sun roof in my car. i then heard sounds of something sliding over the top of my car all the way down the back windshield and off. i slowed my car. after a few minutes to gather myself (this frightened me very much) i picked speed up again and the sound hit again. scared me all over again. no cars in front of me and one about 4 car lengths behind me. the car behind me did not seem to be having any trouble. i though the object that hit my car may have caused the car behind me problems too, but they seemed fine. remember it was night and dark. there was no where to pull over on this highway. i finally got home and got out and looked at my car. the sun roof had a big 2 foot long hole in it. it was about 5 inches wide. it was shattered. after researching online, i have come to the conclusion that the sun roof exploded. i called the dealership and they claim to never have heard of this before. it is online. i have file this with my auto insurance and pay a deductible. i do not have this money. the dealership should recall these and repair them. this happens to the older cars. it happens when the speed is around 55 mph and over. please help.

This occurred while the car was still in motion. when i try to press the brakes to slow down, the car continues to accelerate while making a loud revving sound. this occurs about twice while i am driving. it is as if the car does not want to slow down at times.

Front axle broke while driving on highway and front passenger wheel was ripped off and flew behind car. lost control and hit a guardrail. accord was the ex-l version and did not have a scratch on it. car had barely over 100,000 miles on it. no one hurt but car was total loss.

Leaking power steering fluid from high pressure hose and also from power steering pump onto cadillac converter causing smoke and possible potential fire.

One day i was driving on the highway coming from my dads house and it was raining that day and as i was driving i hit a lil pot hole on the highway and my airbags went off and my car was not hit or anything like that and i pulled over and call the police and as i was on the phone with them i went to move my car over some more off the highway and my car was feeling like it didnt want to go and the car dosent even have 100,000 miles on it and i the photos i sent you you dont see anything wrong with the body of the car or anything like that

Takata recall. i have a v6 2007 4dr honda accord exl. all honda accords for model year 2007 that have a 4 cyclinder engines have the air bag recall, but my vin which is a v6 is not on the recall list. i wonder why that is the case. the airbag whether for an in-line 4 cyclinder vs v6 should virtually be the same, so it begs the question of why isn’t my vin on the recall list?

Buzzing sound in the ignition switch when the key is turned to the start position and car does not start. car is off and stationary. this happens sporadically since i had purchased the car in 2016. i did read about a recall about this with honda's and toyota's.

When i frist brought this car the air bags where not working. i was inform by macco paint shop in 2015 that the air bags had a recalled. i also called honda corporation office in order to be compensated for the accidents i had since i brought the car in may 8 2010, honda refuse to honor my request. i also had car repairs that didn't pass smog. i never receive a notice that honda had a recalled on airbag until 2017 they started sending ups letters to take the car in for repairs.i am a 63 year old women with mental and physical problems. in november 2017 the company since a letter in regards of a law suit against honda. i went online to file before the dead line , which is january 08 2018. i also request forms but i feel they didn't get them. i concern i will not get my refund. honda corporated office has all my information and all the 7 accident i occur.

Passenger window and rear windows stop working at the same time.

On december 4, 2017 i was traveling the posted speed limit on interstate 195 maryland when my tire broke away from the axle. i lost control of the car and skid across the highway and slammbed into a guard rail. i had just repaired/replaced both lower control arm bushings on that same wheel not two weeks prior to the accident with alignment and new brakes all around. i was fortunate that i did not hit anyone and no one hit me or the result would have been much worse. the car was totaled.

My wife was involved in a collision while driving our 2007 accord. she was in motion at about 20 mph when another vehicle crossed her path, whereupon the front of our honda struck the right side of the other vehicle. this was on state route 66 at the on-ramp to i-215. the problem is that the driver's frontal airbag did not deploy despite the fact that the seatbelt is locked and the airbag light is now blinking. she suffered minor injuries from hitting her head on something during the collision and there were about $3,000 in repairs to our honda. it would seem that the airbags should have deployed in the crash since the airbag light is blinking, which i presume to mean that the module has recorded a permanent deployment event.

Normal city driving when i start out from a complete stop and the transmission shifts it give a hard buck like its dead the transmission indicator light goes out then right back on. the rest of the shifting goes smooth it only seems to be from 1st to 2nd gear. also my check engine light came on and stays on now. i looked up the problem on line the ecm bcm was reprogramed in 2011 by johnson honda stuart florida. i called the dealer today they told me that they never heard of any problem involving the secondary shift bearing but yet all my signs the car id doing points to this problem. the sight i visited for the information said to refer to it a recall # r89. hope you can help me.

Takata recall. our honda accord 2007 airbag inflator under recall was replaced in 2014 at delray honda, boca raton, fl. in today's nytimes, may 4, 2016, a news article states that the problem now found is that ammonium nitrate in the takata inflator is now the most critically unsafe problem in the airbag. in a conversation today with a honda representative named sheryl, she stated she knew nothing about the ammonium nitrate problem, and that our inflator had been repaired in 2014. i requested that sheryl give me the phone number of a supervisor who might know more about the ammonium nitrate problems & repair solutions. she stated she couldn't give out any number, or connect me, but she could send a request to a supervisor laura, and added that laura would not be able to give me any explanation or information different that sheryl's. there are six family members, the youngest an 8 year old who sometimes ride in the passenger seat of our 2007 honda accord, and wish to receive answers to what honda plans to do to remove the inflator with ammonium nitrate in our honda, and what will be the chemical compound that will be used instead of ammonium nitrate. we wish to be safe and sound in a car, not anxious that there could be a problem causing serious injuries, or god forbid, death to anyone. if i don't hear from a honda supervisor re: what solutions will honda has to replace the ammonium nitrate, or install an safe airbag in our care with a safe inflator & chemical solution, i will let you know.

Rear brakes. there are many complaints on wear of honda brakes. mine (front and rear) were replaced same day, at 40,200 mi. at 72,700, the rear brakes needed replacement with just 3 % life left or only 32,500 miles. this is nearly half life. the front brakes my repair shop notes has at least 30% more life.

Truck hit me. totaled car. broke shoulder . had surgery. over 5000o in bills.

Clutch pedal bracket cracked and broke. problem was unknown to user because bracket is below dash. because it was broken, clutch failed to engage properly and original clutch wore out prematurely. eventually it became impossible to shift. once clutch was replaced, the problem disappeared but only for a short time. after third visit to garage mechanic finally traced problem back to broken bracket.

Tuesday, january 26th, 2016, approx.9:45pm, my wife and i were traveling home from new jersey back to new york through highly populated traffic and pedestrian zones. our 2007 honda accord 4cyl, sedan with 59,700 miles came to a stop while traveling approx 20mph as we passed an intersection due to driver side curtain and seat deploying without cause. no other vehicle/pedestrian was involved, fortunately, and no damage was done to our vehicle. however the airbags strictly on the driver side, that are not part of a recall, deployed/malfunctioned thus potentially may have caused a serious or fatal accident had another vehicle or pedestrian been nearby. local dealer, paragon in woodside, appraised damage and cost of repair at $6,000.00 parts and labor. the service engineer concluded any dips in roads, potholes, hills, basically landscapes that direct/force the front of a vehicle forward could potentially set off the sensor for airbag deployment. contrary to their 'professional' statement our vehicle did not see such a scenario where only driver side of vehicle would require airbags being deployed. should the road conditions been severve all airbags should of deployed. having said that this should not be the case. should their statement be "true" consequently airbags would be going off with no accidents more often, and this would be a regular repair and putting a greater population at risk. we believe the driver side malfunctioned and we cannot be held reponsible when this safety feature is out of our control. we cannot stress this enough that there was no accident. vehicle was moving in a straight line 20mph going through a green light, on a modest incline downhill at best. bear in mind i've driven through that intersection on a regular basis and this has never happened before. i would happily re demonstrate. the airbags that deployed are not part of a recall

My honda accord had a recall for both drivers side and passenger side airbags. i called the honda dealer closest to me to set up and appt. to get them replaced. took my car into the ryan honda dealership and they performed the work in a couple of hours. when i left the dealership, which was at the service department closing time, i noticed my seatbelt/airbag light was on, and would never go off (this light was not on before i had the parts replaced). i called the dealership to explain to them that the light came on after the airbags were replaced and will not go off. they told me that my seatbelt sensor was out and that had nothing to do with the airbags! well, my seatbelt sensor was not out before they did the work on my car. now, i'm leary that the airbags were not installed properly or something because of the light being constantly on. i do appreciate honda sending the airbag recall and footing the bill, but don't think it's fair to go into the dealership and something else gets messed up and i have to pay to get it repaired at my expense.

I have a 2007 honda accord the driver's side window works but other 3 windows don't. when i hit the master switch on drivers door to try to roll the other 3 windows down you can hear the switch click at the switch on the door ur trying to roll the window down but it does not move. it all started when i used my key to put all the windows down(turn key twice to left and hold) before entering the car. then, once i began driving i decided to adjust my windows but it did not even budge, except of course for the drivers side. the night before i didn't have this problem.

I purchased/financed a used- 2007 honda accord on 4/2/2015. outside of an airbag recall notice received in june, there were 4 consecutive electrical malfunctions that occurred and is currently pending - 1) rear driver-side window motor seized, 2) both keyless fobs stopped working and requires reprogramming, according to mechanic, 3) cd/aux button no longer functioning, and 4) rear driver, passenger, and front passenger-side window motors have all seized and no longer functioning. it should be noted that the salesman did not disclose physical front bumper damage on sale date, and did not offer any corrective action upon notification. vehicle was stationary in dealership's possession over a year - from sale date. however, they (owner/salesman) guaranteed the condition of the vehicle as above standard and recommended extended warranty.

The car swirled on black ice and had a substantial damage on side when it hit a tree on the ramp. when car was repaired the technician said they had to replace the control module of the air bag as it had burnt out. they were not sure if the air bag should have deployed or did not because of this failure. having read the recall for 2008 accord for a similar issue, i remembered about this incident and thought i will bring it forward incase there are any 2007 accords as well that should be looked at.

The 2007 honda accord also listed as "vehicle" was traveling south bound on anson rd near 50th st, near wellington, ks. vehicle struck mid-center of a extended suv that pulled out from a farm access road. vehicle was traveling at approximately 55mph, with cruise control set. driver applied breaks to try to stop, but failed to stop in time to avoid collision. vehicle failed to deploy airbags. safety restraint did not fail at time of impact, but failed to resend once unhooked from driver. impact by vehicle was primarily mid-center, and vehicle was traveling well above the 30mph at time of impact which should have released the safety devices to protect the driver.

Spark plug in cylinder #4 was blown out while going freeway speeds, destroying the ignition coil and engine cover and denting the hood. the ejected spark plug landed in the front bumper /passenger fender igniting a fire!

2007 honda accord ex-l (in excellent condition) was pulled into a parking space and stopped. when driver transitioned the gearshift from drive to park, the car suddenly accelerated, jumped the curb, crossed a (soggy) grassy median of about 10 feet, and crashed into a second (parked) car with enough velocity to push the second car into a third (parked) car. all efforts to stop the honda in its acceleration were unsuccessful. the car was taken to the dealership from which it had been purchased new and serviced regularly. after three months of haggling, the dealership repurchased the car; honda, however, refused to acknowledge any problem with the car.

Air conditioning stopped working just after factory warranty ended. i called honda service center immediately, they wanted to charge me $100 to even look at my car. they made no mention of being flexible even though i explained my situation and they knew it was over 110+ outside. i went to an independent shop to get my car fixed fast and had to pay a substantiate amount of money out of pocket. when i called honda to complain about the ac dying after 4years they back peddled stating that if i had taken the car in to honda, they would have waived the $100 fee and fixed my ac free of charge. this is a serious issue.

This is the second time my ac has gone out in the middle of the summer in phoenix, az. the first time was 8/10/2011. this is now 4 years later and my ac made a horrible sound while driving, i pulled to the side of the road. my ac no longer functions and only blows hot air. it is +110 outside by noon. the only difference between this time and the first time is the first time there was no horrible noise, the ac just refused to turn on. i called honda the first time and they didn't care since my car just ended the warranty period. this is a certainly a big issue that my car ac needs to be fixed every 4 years!

The passenger windows (1 front & 2 rear) stopped working. when they stopped working, the windows were partially down. i could not raise the windows by any usual means. all i would get is a clicking sound at the master window control and the individual respective windows controls when i tried to raise them. the only window that would operate in a normal manner was the driver's window. the driver's window would go up or down as needed without any problem. this appears to be an electrical issue that has affected many honda models of various years, including models newer & older that my 2007 honda accord se. the issue does not involve a window regulator, nor window motor. it appears to involve the master window control and/or the vehicle's ecu (electronic control unit) that is responsible for the operation of the vehicle's windows. this problem should be addressed by honda at no charge to owners of honda vehicles.

I received driver and passenger airbag recall notice. very next business day, i called two close by honda dealers to get an appointment to get the airbags fixed, but both said they don't have the parts available to replace and, while they can order it now, it might take couple of weeks to receive them. i am assuming they are aware of these recalls, so i am surprised that they don't have parts available and they will order only when someone calls. and, i will be driving for at least couple of weeks with the risk of having a defective airbag. honda needs to up their game and have these parts available all the time or within a short notice (1-2 days), instead of having customers wait for couple of weeks, that's just very long time to risk driving.

In march 2015, i received a safety recall notice from honda (nhtsa recall 14v-351) advising me to have the driver side air bag inflator replaced at my local honda dealer at no cost. i immediately called honda of downtown los angeles to schedule a replacement of my vehicle's inflator. i was told by their service center that they would order the part and i would be contacted when it arrived. i called back two weeks later as i had not received a call and they said they were still waiting on the recalled part to arrive and assured me i would get a call. a month later i had still not heard anything, so i called again and was again told that i would be called when the part arrived. not until july 2015 did i get two new safety recall notices from honda (nhtsa recall 15v-320 & 15v370). one recall was for the same driver side inflator in addition to the passenger side air bag inflator. i called diamond honda of glendale to schedule service, and while the required parts needed to be ordered, a service appointment was made for one week later. in short, i received a recall notice from honda in march 2015 and it took me contacting two different service centers multiple times over a four month period to have the recall appointment scheduled. .. updated 09/30/15*bf

I was following to close, when the airbags deployed, it burnt my arm pretty bad, my arm felt like it was on fire, got a few lacerations, but really concerned about the airbags, that was extremely hot and could have caused some severe injuries, i cant have my carpal tunnel surgery that was scheduled because of the burns, not a happy person

While making a turn onto a highway, our honda accord had complete and catastrophic failure of the front ball joint with total loss of steering. front axle literally fell onto the roadway and front left tire was perpendicular to the car body and kept us from bottoming out. thankfully no others cars in immediate area and we were not hit by another vehicle. we were also driving slowly so no injuries even though car was not able to be controlled. called honda america and they said this is a unique problem and that this has never been an issue with their cars. however many, many instances documented on honda forums on the web.

I have had three cooper tires fail all cs4 models. the complaint is all the same, the tire develops a side wall leak and cracks leading to low pressure and tire failure. each one failed at 17k,15k & 22k miles. in each instance the tire was replaced with the same model cs4 cooper tire and repeats the same problem. each one was on the front of the car and the other tires which are non cooper tires do not have this problem. the tires are defective and i will no longer buy cooper tires.

Was driving on the 5 fwy and heard a grinding sound so i pulled over to the shoulder. my car then would no longer drive. a group of gentlemen helped me put the car in neutral and we pushed it off the shoulder to the gravel. i had to call a tow to take me and my car 92 miles to the honda dealer where i service my car. i have a stellar service record with the honda dealer and have only driven approximately 10,000 miles per year. the dealer identified the problem as a failed transmission. this is the second honda accord v6 where the transmission failed: i had a 1998 and it failed in 2006 with approximately the same mileage as the 2007.

I bought this vehicle from a honda dealership in the beginning of february 2015. the car had 2 or 3 previous owners who did an excellent job of keeping up with the maintenance. the car had also just been inspected in september of the previous year and passed with flying colors. i was in the process of relocating to the west coast with my fiancé. four hours away from our final destination, the car shut off and i noticed that the engine light flashed on. i quickly got the car to the side of the road before it completely died. my fiancé and i hopped out the car to check under the hood. by this time you could smell the smoke coming from under the hood, but a fire was not visible looking directly under the hood. another driver, who happened to be a fire fighter, who was on the same highway stopped and told us to back away from the car because there was a fire underneath the car. once we moved back, we were able to see the fire under the car on the right hand side (if you're facing the car). we could also see that the fire was melting something. you could see the substance melting to the ground. the fire fighter called the police and investigated the fire himself. he said that it was some type of wiring issue and the fire dept. confirmed this as well when they finally disconnected the battery to inspect the car. he again stressed the fact that we needed to stay back because the car could blow at any moment, which was devastating news because everything we owned was in the car. thankfully a police officer arrived and diffused the fire. i noticed that there are no open recalls for this vehicle, but i did notice there was an investigation for some issue that could cause a fire under the hood. i absolutely loved this car and i only had it long enough to make 1 payment to my finance company. i just wanted to bring this to your attention to prevent any other incidents. *tr

The driver seat to the 2007 honda accord is incredibly uncomfortable. i believe it causes poor posture and occupational injuries when i drive the car consistently on my daily commute. i commute a daily round trip of 1.5 hours. in 2012 i noticed how uncomfortable the seat was becoming. i could not find a good posture, and ultimately was diagnosed with myofascial trigger points with comorbid spinal pain as a result of driving in the car. i am not overweight, very slim actually. i have no other pre-existing conditions. my wife also complains that the seat causes her back pain when she uses it temporarily. the head rest protrudes and pushes the head forward into a chin-to-chest position. the sides of the seat cup the shoulders and back, pushing the shoulders forward and promoting a slouch or sideways sitting posture. i believe this is a design flaw. *tr

Just bought my accord in september 2013 with 105k miles on it.when i test drove the vehicle i noticed that the brakes were sticky.when i came to a complete stop then when i accelerated it took a second or two for the brakes to release then accelerate again. they told me that they had just replaced the brakes and that's the reason why that it was doing that.so within a month later i brought it in cause the problem never went away. they fixed the problem and just put brake fluid and bleed the brakes.the car ran a little better and the brakes weren't sticking as much.two months later i had to replace the brake pads.brakes were still sticky.3 months later i had to replace them again.then i noticed that when i would due over 60 mph that when i would press the brakes that the car would shake and pull to the left.i then got a aliment and still the car would shake when i would accelerate and brake.i then replaced all four rotors.problem stopped.two months later the cars left lower control arm was giving out.had to replace both right and left side.one month later i hear the brakes making a loud grinding noise.i had to replace the pads again.i find that every 2 to 3 months i have to replace my brakes. all this money being spent is not fair.honda needs to recall these brake systems.my airbag light and engine light keeps coming on and off.also my stereo light goes off and on .help me please. *tr

Unexpected acceleration with engine stuck at full throttle.. conditions at the time: snow on road; large snow banks at sides of road.. i had backed out of my driveway in order to turn my car around so as to point front-out.i then started to back down the driveway.the car got stuck against a pile of snow part way into the driveway (we just had a series of large snowstorms, but the night was clear). i placed the transmission in "€œdrive"€ and attempted to exit the driveway. a wheel stated to spin (i believe it was the right front drivewheel), so i gunned the engine.the car got free, heading toward the snow bank on the side of the road opposite the driveway.i took my foot off the gas and onto the brake, applying force on the brake.the engine remained in full throttle despite my having moved my foot off the gas and onto the brake and my applying force to the brake.. the car had propelled itself into the snow bank on the opposite side of the road.the engine remained in full throttle. i could feel the pulsation of the abs system on the brake pedal under my foot as i continued to try to brake.i finally turned off the ignition. the engine stopped. i placed the transmission into "park". i then turned the ignition back on and started the engine with my foot still on the brake, and immediately the engine was again in full throttle, although in "park"€ -- so there was no movement of the vehicle.i turned off the ignition again.i turned the ignition back on. this time the idle was normal..i was able to back the car back into the driveway. *tr

On july 7th, 2012, i was driving south on route 113 near milford, de with my wife and going the speed limit when the side airbags in our accord suddenly deployed for no discernible reason. we did not hit anything, the conditions were clear as was the road. there were no other vehicles in close proximity to us. it was a frightening experience that very well could have resulted in an accident, and my wife sustained abrasions to her arm. we contacted honda about the issue and they had us bring our vehicle to a local body shop for an inspection (we lived in hoboken, nj at the time), after which they informed us that a sensor underneath the vehicle showed signs of distress/being struck, which triggered the deployment of the airbags. we were skeptical that something we could not/did not feel would have caused this, but after much back and forth with honda, it was clear that the only option we had to get our vehicle functioning again was to file an insurance claim, which we did, resulting in out-of-pocket costs to us in the form of our deductible and other related expenses. given the number of instances of faulty airbag deployments, with honda being one of the usual suspects, we wanted to file a complaint to formally log yet another instance. *tr

On november 3 or 4, i learned, based on vin from the nhtsa database, that my car's airbag is the subject of an august 29, 2014, recall. / complaint - i had not (and as yet still have not) received a notice of the recall. (note: my address and car's registration address have not changed since i bought the car new.) / on november 4. i called american honda. someone said i needed to call a local dealer. the person said they would inform people in their organization that i had not received a notice. / same day, i called anderson honda (palo alto, ca), the dealer from whom i bought the car. i got an appointment for november 12 (which i was told was the first available day) for the work. i was told that people had verified availability of needed parts and that the work might take a half a day. / approximately november 10, american honda called. i again stated that the recall process should have notified me regarding the airbag problem. / on november 12, i took the car to anderson. a representative told me that, based on the vin, anderson needed to order a part and that i could reschedule the work for a day possibly as early as the 14th. i did not have my calendar with me. i asked about the possibility the part would not be available. the person said that the part would be tied to the vin and could not be used for another car. / complaint - anderson failed to make good on its statement that the work would occur on the 12th. / later on the 12th, i called anderson. a person said that the first available appointment was on november 24 and that the work might take 2 hours. i accepted that appointment. also, i was told to call in on the friday or saturday before the appointment to check regarding availability of needed parts. / complaint - anderson should call me well before the 24th to confirm parts availability and the appointment. *tr

I have filed complaints twice before. out of 251 complaints(reported by consumers who know there is such a complaint mechanism), 42 are related to airbag issues. of the 42 there have been 19 injuries reported for the 2007 honda accord alone, not having researched other models. from 2006 100% of vehicle air bags have been equipped with the required advanced frontal air bag which sensors the weight, height of front passengers along with how much force and when air bags should deploy. why then has my family member and i suffered life altering injuries in a minor left side (not frontal) scrape accident? repair to vehicle was only $800.00. is anyone reading these complaints???? if people are lucky enough to not have shrapnel thrown at them, they are experiencing complete failure of air bags to deploy or air bags deploying from "possibly hitting a rock in the road" while driving at 45 to 65 mph on a major highway or having air bags spew chemicals and deploying at forces that do not dictate the situation. in any of the situations people are getting seriously injured. how many complaints and injuries does it take to have authorities realize there is a much bigger problem going on? *tr

I called o'donnell honda to see if my car is affected in the recent recall due to airbag issues and was told nhtsa released the information before it should have been released and not to take it seriously. i believe where safety is concerned it should always be taken serious. please investigate. i am concerned that they have summarily dismissed other callers. they were not helpful to me. they could not tell me if my car was affected and said to just wait and see if i get a letter from honda. i have tried to research to see if my car is being recalled and can't because i don't know if i have a 4 cylinder or 6 and the dealer couldn't tell me!!!!!! *tr

I had previously filed a complaint 7/31/2013. id number: 10532958. due to the recent recall of air bags honda had purchased by a certain manufacturer and the time frame being allowed to honda to rectify, i felt the need to update my complaint. the impact to the car in from was so minimal they did not have a dent, our airbags deployed at 30-35 mph, reading other complaints, yes the sound was horrific, likely to hitting a brick wall, the seat belt tension rod snapped at the impact, my eyelashes were burnt and at the time i reported the complaint i was under the impression that i had suffered two herniate disc's from this. far worse, one disc had herniated so badly it was pressing against my spinal cord, i was at a 50% risk of becoming completely paralyzed. i had cervical disc removal surgery. too many complaints about this, either exploding without cause with debris and chemical causing injuries and or not operating at all, peoples lives are at stake, honda should not be allowed to take their time in assessing these types of damages. *tr

My husband and i were hit by a driver who went thru a red arrow. the air bags did not deploy even though the car was hit on drivers side from the head light past the rear door. both the windows were broken on driver's side there was glass everywhere, damage was extensive. the driver's and front passengers dual-stage airbags, driver's and front passengers side airbags and side curtain airbags did not deployed. the seat belt on passenger side did not tighten up went passenger was thrust forward. the magnitude and force of the crash caused abrupt jerking to our heads and necks. the range of motion in my neck is very limited i cannot turn head to see blind spots or back out of parking spots when driving. we both have disc problems to our back and neck causing us difficulty when walking, standing or sitting and in our every day living. if the airbags deployed our injuries would not have been so extensive and our lives would be better.the car was repaired using some used parts costing $12,000.00 to repair. i feel this car is unsafe. six airbags did not deploy in a major car crash and someone could be driving this car today. we bought this honda because of all the safety features but they failed to work. *tr

Took care in for maintenance. was told compliance bushing is wearing and should be replaced soon. i'm finding this item cost about $20. and several hundreds to fix due to labor. looking at all the blogs, this particular item has upset many because of the design and looks to be a cash cow for the dealerships. if i wee to purchase all bushings for the lower control arm (3 each side) the total in parts would be $89. but to have the dealership to replace just one busing would be over $500. the lower control arm has to be removed to replace just the one bushing. to purchase the lower control arm which includes the 3 bushings, is just over $300 per side. plus reading all the blogs, the compliance bushing has a tendency to wear quickly. honda should fix at no cost to the owner. *tr

My issue relates to the power steering system. this is something that developed over time, worsened, i paid boatloads of money over time, only to have it reoccur over & over. i've actually experienced other issues but since this is a safety issue, and i've paid good money to have repaired on a few occasions, only to be back at square one today barely able to steer the car i've decided to stick to this alone. this issue is probably as much an issue with defective power steering as it is with honda not addressing my problem. in other words since from around 50,000 thru today this has been an ongoing problem which they only suggested to do one service, the problem temp would go away, only to reappear shortly thereafter dragging me back in all over again. high-pressure hose @ $58,000, almost immediately thereafter power steering pump that i waited till 72,000 to pay for, almost immediately thereafter the rack & pinion which i put off till 93,000 due to the cost and how much all of the other problems were costing me. today the car has 104,000. i had all work done by honda up to 85,000, but have tried to save money and have had someone else do the rack & pinion and a few other costly items since. i went back to honda today for their opinion - net result - all of the above items have a bad leak and need to be done all over again - $2400 cost! the other thing i want to add is the recall on honda accords "high pressure power steering hose" - of course, the recall was not until after i'd already paid for the service - my car's hose went bad & needed to be replaced for the same reason as which all of the other hondas were under recall for (the heat of the engine caused it to melt). when i heard about the recall i anticipated receiving a letter in the mail but never did - the reason was that the recall for the hose was for many other model years not including 2007 (my car year).

This is the second same size cooper tire that has failed the same way in the same time frame. the tire was properly inflated and began to lose air even though it had no punctures in the tire. the tire started to run low and the sidewall cracked and did not deflate but ran with low pressure. i noticed that the tire was low but not deflated. upon examination of the tire the same cracks appears on the side wall and nothing was hit that had abraded the tire. both tires were size 215/50 r17 cs4 v xl bw 95 tl. both tires lasted approx 15-17k miles before failing and approx 2 years in each case. one was replaced by the tire dealer only because i had bought the tire protection policy and the other was no longer covered as replacements are no longer covered after 12k or 1 yr. both tires could not be repaired as the sidewall has failed. *tr

Per honda manual recommendation for a tune-up @100,000 mile; on april, 2013 i went into nalley honda for my 100k tune-up. shortly after this service was preformed, my car stared to pulsate. i return my car back to dealer and was advised i need a fuel flush. they stated this was not part of the tune-up, but should be done with a tune-up. i paid for a fuel flush. the problem still existed. i went back to the dealer and inquired if they had changes all six of my plugs and wires. they said yes...i asked why was i still having this issue after getting a tune-up. i was asked the grade of gas i use. i told the service tech 87, that is what the manual recommended. i was told to try 93 grade for about a month to see if that will filter and clean the lines. i did... however, the problem still occurs but not as bad. i call and scheduled an appointment for saturday after thanksgiving. i'm now being told my transmission is going bad (torque converter). i said that is not possible. a 2007 vehicle with only 117,000 mile and my transmission is going out. while sitting in the customer waiting area, a gentlemen with the same identical vehicle as mine told me he had more mile on his vehicle than mines, but his transmission went out also and he had to have his rebuilt for around $2,000.00. i said there is no way transmission should be going out on a 2007 model vehicle with only 117,000 miles. honda need to investigate if this is a defect issue. the service manager said no, honda does not have a recall on the problem. someone please help!

I had my vehicle serviced at honda of spring dealership in texas. they did a power steering flush. after they were done, they told me my high pressure power steering hose was leaking and had to be replaced. it was not leaking before i had the vehicle serviced. they wanted over $600 to replace the hose. i believe the hose was defective and the flush finished it off. the dealership told me the hose was not recalled for my vehicle vin number. i can't afford to pay that much for a hose and the car might catch on fire if the hose is not replaced. if it does, i am suing honda for defective high pressure power steering hose damages. *tr

I was driving & notice my car was driving a little bit sluggish & kept on getting worse, so i took it in to the dealer they had my car for a week & told me that both cat. converters had to be replaced, the cause: tensioner leaking & mounts broken, so i paid for work, got my car back but it seemed like they didnÂ??t even touch my car because it was driving the same way it was the day i took it to be fixed, i had call the dealer told them & they told me to continue driving & it should go back to normal again, it wasnÂ??t even a week later & not only was car losing power while driving, i heard a loud pop noise come from the engine & then car came to a complete stop, also car was leaking oil at the bottom all over the road, had to find away to get it off the road (traffic was busy), when i got it back to the dealer again, they were giving me the run around they had my car for 4 months, & didnÂ??t even offer me no means of transportation, i had to pay for the work they done $2000 (powertrain warranty should of covered) the day i got it back the engine was making a ticking noise, so i call them to see if thatÂ??s normal, they told me, yes, that it just needed to be broken in, they had replace short block and the some internal parts, since they made think i could trust they're work they did & gave me their word & didnÂ??t want to be months with out a car i continue to drive it, constantly having to change oil or add more, now its been a little bit over a year & the ticking noise never went away & things kept getting worse, so i finally took it back in to dealer they have had it for 2weeks now and haven't done anything to my car, not even the recall that was on my car, they called me yesterday telling me that i would have to pay for a whole new engine due to internal damage, due to the work that they had done in the past. *tr

I had alignment/suspension issues (along with car groaning at low-speeds and turns) for several weeks. local mechanic originally thought it was a tire or alignment problem because the tires were wearing unevenly in an odd pattern and car was pulling strongly. the problems persisted, so i then took the car to my local dealer. the dealer identified the problem as the compliance bushing. i had never heard of this auto part before, but after the dealership told me about it, i researched it on the internet and saw dozens of complaints about this issue from honda accord owners on various honda forums. the car is a 2007 honda accord ex-l v6. *tr

2007 honda accord ex v6 coupe. first failure incident came at around 88,000 miles on the car. check engine light came on and said it was due to an oxygen sensor bank 2 sensor 1. replaced the oxygen sensor and the code disappeared. at about 96,000 miles the same error code came on. did some research and found that this was common amongst this model accord and engine v6. after about 5,000 miles of driving on this code with a new oxygen sensor, the cel(check engine light) flashed. i was driving on the highway in about 70 degree weather and traveling at 65 mph. after pulling over to check the car, the spark plug and coil pack had blown completely out of cylinder number 5..(another common issue for 2007 honda accord v6). have not taken it to the dealer for repair costs, but the entire engine will now have to be replaced. there needs to be a recall out for this as it will not cause me to replace the entire engine. i will be calling honda as well to see what they will be doing about this problem. *tr

I began having trouble with my power steering at least a year ago, if not more. upon taking the car to my regular place of maintenance i was informed there could be an issue with the power steering pump but, since it was expensive to replace, it was suggested i replace the fluid first, which i did. problems persisted and again suggestions from both honda and other repair/ maintenance facilities were to have the hose or fluid replaced. the hose was never replaced by me. upon receipt of the safety recall issued in feb 2013 for the "power steering hose" i took my car in to landmark honda in alexandria, va to have the recall processed on my car. i was informed the "power steering hose" was replaced, per honda but was also informed the issue with my car was not the specific hose honda identified in the recall???????? i was informed my "reservoir hose" was leaking therefore causing my power steering pump to fail. upon arguing with the local honda dealership i was informed i was out of luck to have the issue resolved by honda. i placed a call to american honda motor co., inc and was informed of the exact same thing because "the hose that honda identified as faulty was in fact replaced, that was just not the issue with your car." this letter is being sent because, how does the power steering fail on a 6 year old car and how can honda tell me all of these issues are not related to the same recall? i want these issues addressed as a safety concern and as an expense concern on my part. all of these issues are 100% related and have caused my power steering pump to go bad but honda will take no responsibility for it. honda is responsible for fixing this on my car and i want this information made public since clearly they want to ignore it. i expect to be contacted by honda or by the national highway traffic safety administration and i expect nhtsa to do its job. *tr

Check engine light went on and off a few times, took it to autocheck and found a code. took it to dealer, they could not locate the code and claimed there is no issue they can find, come back when it happens again. few weeks later, the check engine light came again in the evening, and now with other problems, the whole electric system including lights, radio etc started dancing on and off, abs light came on and off. happened for a few minutes and then everything went smooth. i took the car back to dealership and they claim the code p0685 was found and there was a software update for the pcm and they applied that update. i asked why was there no intimation about it and the response was that it was not considered as one of the critical updates. with the experience i had, the way things were happening in that 2-3 minutes of electric system dance, anything could have gone wrong with the car. there should be a recall notice sent for this update.

On a six hour vacation trip, i began to experience acute middle back pain. i had begun a new job about a year prior to this trip, in which i made commutes of about 1 hr. and 15 minutes round-trip on 4-5 days a week. i had noticed over the course of my new commute that my car seat became increasingly uncomfortable. however, while on this long six hour trip, about 3 hours into the trip i began to feel severe back pain. i don't think we had taken a rest break by this point in the trip. it became uncomfortable for me to rest my back in the seat, as my middle vertebrae felt very sensitive to the touch. it then became more difficult to sit in a chair for more than a few minutes, and of course the driving posture became increasingly painful and uncomfortable. after some chiropractic treatment, the intensity of the pain has lessened, but the discomfort has never fully gone away. in recent months a physician has treated my back pain by with a prescription strength topical neuro/inflammation ointment. the physician has not yet given a specific diagnosis to my condition, but the pain and discomfort seems to be lessening very gradually. i believe the pain and discomfort is caused by the pronounced "cupping" shape of my car's seat and headrest, which keeps me from finding a comfortable posture while driving, especially on long-distance drives. *tr

Had vehicle serviced a day later i heard a clicking noise. this noise continued. i thought it was a fuse. then two days later the driver window will raise and lower by the master control switch. the passenger front and rear windows would not lower only click when pushing the master control switch/button. i took vehicle to honda they said it was not under warranty but after a diagnostic fee of $59 it was working however the switch isn't grounded properly and still makes the clicking noise and won't work with the key trying to lower the windows. i then observed online that there was a recall for v6 model of 2007 accords. mine is a 4cyl. honda wants about $359 for the repair. the repair is for the master control window switch. *tr

I have already had to replace the drivers side power window motor. then in july while my car was parked for a week i came back from vacation used the remote to unlock the car and it would not work. i had to manually unlock the door. then realized that the only power window that works now is only the drivers side. while searching on the internet for a remedy to this issue i found many, many honda users that this has happened to. i see that the master switch has been recalled but only on the crv. maybe, this should be extended to the 2007 honda accord also. this is an extreme safety issue since i am unable to quickly unlock the door with the remote and none of the other windows will roll down or unlock. the replacement on the power window motor was over $300. any help would be appreciated. thank you for looking into this matter. *tr

I was passing a car on the expressway doing 75 mph when the engine sent too strong a current to the spark plug which grenaded it. this sent pieces into the engine destroying it. the engine is honda's 3.0 vtec v6. the engine had less than 50000 miles on it when it happened. the first engine blew the same way when the motor grenaded the spark plug at 53000 miles. honda replaced the first engine because it was under factory warranty. honda of casper wyoming would not replace the second motor because the factory warranty was up. this is ridiculous for them not to stand by a motor when it has less than 50000 miles and the same problem that the first engine and many other owners have experienced. i was forced to buy a used car so i could get to work and was not given any trade in value. i even had to pay for the tear down on the blown motor . *tr

I was passing a car on the expressway doing 75 mph and the engine sent an errant signal to the spark plug causing it to grenade . this sent pieces into the engine destroying it. this happened with only 47000 miles on the 3.0 vtec v6 motor. the first motor blew the exact same way. the previous year i was stuck in a snow bank so i was putting it into drive then reverse to rock the car out of the snow bank and the engine sent an errant signal to the spark plug causing it to grenade . this sent pieces into the motor destroying it. honda replaced the first motor because it was still under factory warranty but wouldn't replace the second motor because it wasn't under factory warranty even though it happened with less than 50,000 miles on the motor. i was forced to purchase a used car so i could get to work and the honda dealership wouldn't give me anything for trade-in from their piece of junk accord. *tr

Getting off interstate 95 (ct), slowing down for stop sign, brakes failed. shifted to park, pulled emergency brake, foot still on brakes to no avail. bump car in front of me before stopping. no warning lights whatsoever. called 911 and reported accident. drove car the next day to nearest honda dealer in westport, ct. explained accident to service technician. was informed that they found air entering abs modulator. they indicated that it was unsafe to drive. had to order part and repair was completed on may 9th. requested original service manager (mahwah honda, nj) of problem and asked to speak to a honda regional representative to discuss as to why no warning lights and may be caused by a defective modulator. as of today, have not received any feedback after numerous emails and telephone calls to mahwah honda. seems like honda do not want hear about these problems. i requested and received the modulator that was originally in the car. someone will get hurt if honda do not act on this problem. honda forums shows many 2007 accord brake problems. please help. thank you.

Brakes unevenly have worn on the back, and there appears to be a caliper issue and the brake pads do not even cover the entire surface of the rotor. suddenly the car had a very difficult time stopping. with less than 28k miles the brakes should be fine. the back brakes need to be replaced but the front brakes are fine and the pads cover the entire rotor. honda needs to take responsibility for this faulty design of the rotors. *js

I was in the driver seat of my 2007 honda accord with a passenger in the right side front seat. i was traveling in the left lane on a highway (476 southbound in pennsylvania, approximate mile marker 21) at 5:30 am with no cars to my immediate front, side or rear. with no provocation, all of the right side airbags went off, causing damage to the right ear of my passenger as well as myself. there was no impact whatsoever, as well as no potholes or road damage at all. the insurance adjuster as well as the collision center (vinart collision, associated with lehigh valley honda) both found no impact and no external reason why the airbags would deploy. if there had been another vehicle on the road near me, this could have very easily caused an accident and possibly more severe injuries. i have reported it to american honda corporation and they sent a representative to look at the vehicle. i have yet to receive any information from them as to why this has occurred. *kb

2007 honda accord ex-navigation. i have owned this vehicle since 2010 with 30k. they should be multiple recalls on this vehicle. in 2 occasions on the highway, i was unable to stop this vehicle. i rear ended one vehicle doing 45 mph without the airbags deploying. the airbag light stays on with it flashing. i had a complete brake system overhaul. second time, the same thing happened. i pressed on the brakes and it takes so long for the vehicle to respond. dealership told me there was no issue with the airbags or braking system. after both accidents the airbag light flashes and stays on. also the seat belts stay in a locked position and won't retract. dealership says the piston in the seat belts were bad. i waited to have them fixed. good thing because both seat belts retracted after three weeks. separate issue with the seals on the outer doors. every time it rains i end up with 3 inches of water on the driver side rear floor. i had the dealership also check this. they said they fixed the problem. all problems still occur to this day. i had owned honda accords all my life of 48 years. i have my doubts of ever buying another honda vehicle after this awful experience. *tr

My wife recently purchased the 2007 honda accord se from an elderly gentleman who has gently used the vehicle (having only driven the vehicle 53,000 kms in the four years he had it from new). all of the maintenance receipts are with the vehicle. imagine my surprise when i drove the car and discovered the brakes to be not acting as expected. upon review, i noticed that the rear brakes were worn down significantly and the rotors were badly scored. i was not expecting this on the rear brakes of such a car. apparently the brakes are a major concern on this vehicle, yet honda doesn't appear to be willing to take responsibility for the problem unless threatened (and even then it may not happen). my concern for the safety of this vehicle has resulted in me driving it very rarely and i feel that honda has duped me on this one. my toyota camry has over 200,000 kms on it and i just recently replaced the rear brakes on it after 180k. appreciate any information on how i can get my dealer to repair this problem (and what type of replacement brakes / pads / rotors i should be asking for). if they won't repair then i'll have to take it to a reputable brake specialist and have them fix honda's problem. *tr

Since my purchase, june of 2007 i have had several problems with the brake system and at that time honda had fulfilled the quality expectations. however; a larger issue is at hand regarding my car transmission causing a leaking problem. upon discovering the leakage, i immediately took my car out for service. i have now found out that honda misdiagnosed the problem and performed unnecessary repairs charging me a $300 dollars out of my pocket. within couple of weeks i was back at the dealership to raise my concerns about consistent leakage. at this point they advised me that it's transmission needs to be replaced. after 3 months of arguing and writing letters to the honda ceo, finally the same case manager who refused to help me at first, offered a 50% coverage by honda to replace its transmission. that is around $2000 out of my packet fixing their defective transmission. at this point, i can't drive this car. the smoke and burning smell coming from under hood causes a safety concern. i worry that if i take this car for a ride it would be my last time seeing my family. my faith in this company has been ruined forever - but thanks to one person - they don't care. please help!!! *tr

The regulators of two rear windows made loud noise during window open operation on sept. 22, 2011. one of the window was not able to close all the way up after it was open. these two windows only are used less than a dozen times. it was raining that day. the windshield was smoggy while i was driving because the window was not able to close. the defrost was not able to clear the windshield. this defect can potentially resulted in fatal accident. *tr

The trunk door won't stay open on a low slope surface or under slight wind on a flat surface. door lock hit the head on multiple family members head causing bruises on head and headaches for months. i believe the root cause is that the trunk door spring is no strong enough to hold the door under normal use. report the problem to honda in new vehicle survey in 2007, but no response from honda. file a complaint to honda on sept. 2011. honda customer service denied the problem. *tr

I was pulling into a parking space in front of my apartment building and slowing down to park. my foot was on the brake slowing the car down to a complete stop when suddenly the car accelerated on it's own as if possessed. the car jumped over the curb of the parking space and smashed into the brick wall of my apartment building causing extensive damage to the front of my car and breaking the brick wall and window of the building. i know for a fact that my foot was on the brake and not on the gas pedal. this is clearly an issue with the vehicle. we have reported the issue to honda usa and they will provide further instructions after the vehicle is repaired. *kb

Heavy traffic, large truck in front of me, a large muffler in the middle of my lane in the road, was unable to change lanes due to other vehicles next to me, and was unable to drive off road - barriers set in the berm next to road. did my best in straddling the muffler, in which it had seemed it would clear the bottom of my car. i didn't clear it, the curtain airbag and seat airbag imploded on the left side of my head/ear (very loud pop and some smoke-type substance in air) on the driver's side, along with my seat belt retracting very tightly. was able to move the airbag so that i could drive the remaining short distance to my home.

I was driving my car home on saturday evening. when i turned into my complex car in motion, it died. no warning. everything shutdown. engine, lights everything. i thank god i wasn't on a main road or freeway. i put the car in parked and it started back up with no problem. when i made it home, i researched my issue online searching for a recall. i found one that described my issue. however, the dealership and honda advised me this morning that they are aware of the recall and my car was exhibiting the same symptoms. however, my car was not included in the recall because it was manufactured at a different factory. what!!! now in order for them to fix my car i have to pay $105 for honda to run a diagnostic on it to tell me what¿¿s wrong with it. really! why should i have to pay for that? i think that is unfair to my son¿¿s safety and me. you would think they would run a diagnostic free. i am soo afraid to drive my car. anyone out there have any suggestions? i may just have to bite the bullet and pay the money. :( recall id # 11v395000 - power train:automatic transmission:control module (tcm, pcm). *tr

Had to slam on brakes at 65 mph, for the first time ever, to avoid a car that swerved in front of me. shortly after, normal braking resulted in a dangerous wobble in the front wheels. i brought to a honda dealer the next day who advised the brake calipers were warped because i had slammed on the brakes. the dealer inspection reported front brakes had 75% life left (which is indicative of my moderate driving style), but were replaced when the calipers were ground to eliminate the warping. dealer service rep advised the warping could happen any time i went down a hill or slammed on my breaks. which to me is normal use. i complained that the calipers were seriously underbuilt and was told it would be too expensive for honda to make more robust ones for their cars. in other words, i should expect to get warped front calipers from normal everyday driving, to which the dealers service rep agree. basically i am stating that honda has scrimped on the quality of their honda accord from brake calipers and the consumer has to pay for it. i have complained to honda and was told that i could expect this problem in everyday driving on hills (i live in ct) or from slamming on the brakes. this is a dangerous situation being fostered on the consumer. i shudder to think what would have happened if i didn't have the work done the next morning, especially in winter driving. *tr

Honda has made an inferior product and does not stand by their car. i have found is pointless to contact customer service because it does nothing but frustrate me the consumer! their customer service is horrible and blames the customer for being upset because they built a cheap product. i bought this car because it is a reliable car, that would last me years if maintained properly. i have honda do my regular maintenance, but this time, i couldn't afford their outrageous costs. i have under 32000miles and my rear brakes and entire a/c system have already been replaced. since my car is out of warranty (4years old now) for the a/c they said since i did not go to their dealership, it was out of pocket for me. of course they tease me and tell me if i did pay the $60 for the inspection, then they could have done something about it. my brakes did occur during warranty, and they said nothing was wrong with the brakes and that having them wear out under 20,000miles is normal. there is really no way to know when the a/c needs to be replaced, but because they put in a small receiver drier, the drier needs to be replaced every 15,000-25,000 miles!! honda doesn't tell you this, and if you don't do this, your condenser will be destroyed, and you run the risk of having to install a brand new a/c system in a car not even 10years old! this has happened to my brother's honda accord 2004, my mom's honda civic 2009, and my honda accord 2007. this is not a safety problem, but a huge expense to the consumer. i recently read that honda is recalling vehicles to update the software on the automatic transmission to reduce the possibility of transmission damage. this will affect my year, but i have not been notified or seen any recalls on their official website. i wonder what else honda has skimped on and is going to force me to pay for because they refuse to listen to their consumers. *tr

Sunshine radian 80xtsl superlatch installation becomes loose (by inches) after a proper and tight installation anytime one of the kids' feet touches the top of the tightening belt mechanism. if i push down with just one finger, it will loosen on it's own also. this has occurred almost daily when using the car seats because the kids' feet will touch it and i have to retighten the anchor belt before we leave the house. i have not heard of any recall or replacement parts for this seat. i have two radian seats, one sits rear facing, the other sits forward facing, both have the same problem. I have a 2007 honda accord v6 inside the door it says it was manufacture on aug 2006 and i bought it that year in september. what it happening is the transmission is doing all the signs of the 2003-2006 recalls of the transmission. the high pitch noise and it wont go into 3rd gear. i also sometimes drop right in to the first gear. i have since stop driving it. i was on the freeway in the carpool lane during commute time with my children when it decided to go out of gear. it is at 90000 miles right now and i have done all the maintenance on it and it is just went out of commission. i called honda and they told me that there is no recalls for the 2007. i think they need to investigate this to see if some of the 07 accords fall under the recall list. i paid 40000 for this vehicle and still have 6 payments left on it. pleased do something about this. i am single parent and have no transportation. *tr

When driving the car, the check engine light flashed on, then off. we took it to the mechanic who found nothing wrong. a week later, the light flashed on and off again. another trip to the mechanic and then to the dealer revealed that a spark plug had come loose and broke apart causing the cylinder head, cylinder wall and piston to be damaged. the fix was that the car basically needed a new engine (replaced short block, cylinder head, all spark plugs and all necessary gaskets and seals). due to the number of miles on the car (69k at the time of incident), it was no longer under warranty. everyone from the mechanic to the dealer said they had never seen this happen before. honda did end up paying for a percentage of the repair, but our portion was still around $2500. this was our first honda, we bought it based on reputation and because we put a lot of miles on cars. we never expected to have to replace the engine at three years old.

I have a 2007 honda accord exl 2dr v-6 with an automatic transmission. i bought it used in august of 2010 with 32,000 miles. shortly after buying the car, the brake pedal started to become progressively softer. after about 6 weeks, i took the car into have the brakes done, and was told by the technician that a tsb, #07-045 dated march 5, 2009, had been published concerning the vsa modulator on the vehicle, and that i should check with honda. i took the vehicle to ken garff honda in orem, utah, and spoke with the service manager, showing him a copy of the tsb. he told me there was nothing could do for me as it was not a recall. i explained i was having trouble with the brakes on the vehicle, but he was not willing to look at the car. that was a concern to me as the brake pedal was almost to the floor to get the car stopped. there was also a noticeable pull to the right when i braked. i took the vehicle back to a brake repair shop and they changed the brake fluid, making me aware there was quite a bit of air in the brake lines. i had the brakes bled again three weeks ago, and again the pedal is almost to the floorboard to get the car stopped. i feel this is a significant safety problem with the vsa modulator, and that honda is aware of it. they conducted a recall of the element and odyssey for the same problem, and are replacing the vsa modulators in cars under warranty, yet are not willing to step forward and make safe a vehicle that has a potentially catastrophic problem . *tr

(i assumed someone with a mega stereo and sub-woofer pulled up alongside me. my radio was off, and i have a stock system, not capable of this magnitude of sound.) when i turned at the light, my vehicle was the only one there, and i realized the sound was coming from my car. the sound was definitively from speakers and an amplified sound, not a normal engine or exhaust sound. i revved the engine, and the sound did not change. the sound decreased slightly as i drove, and then resumed its former level. i pulled into a gas station, shut the engine off, and looked under the hood and body. i saw nothing. on the way home, i stopped by a honda dealer, and they said they had never heard of such a thing. the service advisor mentioned it might have been the anc, or electronic noise cancellation, which is used to produce opposite sound waves to cancel out engine and road noise, creating a quiet cab environment. i asked if the system had the power to shake the car, and she responded yes. i was stopped at a light, so the only danger was to my hearing. if this happens to someone in traffic, the results could be dangerous. the onslaught of noise and shaking was jarring. this would appear to be an electronic glitch, and therefore very hard to diagnose. i am putting this on record so that anyone else experiencing it has supporting incidents. *tr

The front brakes vibrate violently when applying brakes at speed of 60 ~ 75 mph. the vibration started when the car had about 10,000 miles; i went to dealership, they told me it was warping disc caused the problem, i would have to pay for re-surfacing the front discs; at 20,000 miles, the vibration had become a safety concerns, i had to change rotors and pads, but the vibration started again after driving about 2000 miles. i went back the mechanics, they told me the front discs are ok, maybe the vibration caused by overly sensitive abs. i went back to dealership again, they said there are no service bulletins or recalls regarding the abs or front brakes, and i should re-surface or replace the rotors one more time (even the new rotor has about only 7000 miles on it). *tr

My air conditioning stopped working in june of 2010. when turned on, warm air came out. when i brought it to the shop to diagnose the problem, i was told that there was a hole in the air compressor and the unit required replacement to fix. the damage, as stated by the repair technician, was caused by "a rock or something" that was kicked up from the road while operating the vehicle, and made a hole in the compressor. the hole cannot be repaired, therefore, the compressor requires replacement. the estimate given for the repair was $1,044. the technician indicated that there was nothing protecting the condenser unit from being hit by road debris, and it is absolutely a design flaw on the part of honda. if someone is unable to afford the repair cost, this becomes a health concern. when i was driving to a doctor appointment 1 hour away in july on a 98 degree day, i suffered mild heat stroke from having to drive for an hour on the highway with the sun beating down on the car and the heat rising up from the hot pavement and surrounding vehicles on the road. i had to seek an alternate route home using back roads shaded by trees in order to avoid suffering from heat stroke again, and this caused a major inconvenience as it took me 2 hours to get home. it is apparent that this issue has been recurring in accords since at least the early 2000's, and honda is being negligent by not addressing it. this is a definite design flaw that honda should address with a recall, as it is my understanding that the simple addition of some type of screen can remedy the situation and save a lot of trouble and costly repair bills for the consumer. what is most disturbing is that this design flaw poses a health risk for certain individuals in certain situations and, for this reason more than any other, it should be brought to honda's attention immediately. *tr

According to the watertown honda dealer(watertown ct), running my air conditioner caused the short circuiting of my on board computer. my onboard computer was filled with water and fried, resulting in loss of electric for the vehicle(which i am told would include abs brake system, air bags, power steering, engine control, lights and all other safety features). the honda dealer that has my vehicle determined that the air conditioning condenser dripped onto the computer which caused it to malfunction. there are no modifications or damage to my vehicle, it has never been in an accident or flooded. it has been maintained and driven under normal driving conditions only. the vehicle was purchased new 3 years ago. i had driven my car from nh to ct for fathers day. i parked the car, then moved it from one parking space to another. later after lunch, my car would not start. it turned over and over, but would not start. the green key light was blinking, the orange engine light was on, and the red oil light was on. there was static coming from the speakers even though the radio was off, and it sounded like every relay and switch under the hood was cycling on and off. it had been completely dry on the drive down, but had a few sprinkles while the car was parked. i had the car towed to a honda dealership in ct(honda of watertown) i further explained that i have never had any accidents modifications to the vehicle. i had hit a pile of snow coming into my driveway (the first winter i owned the vehicle) that cracked the cowl, but had grappone honda (concord nh)service inspect it during my next oil change to determine it was only superficial damage. i explained that i have only driven it under normal conditions, ie i have driven in the rain and through regular puddles, but the car has never been flooded or through any deep puddles ever. luckily i was parked when this happened, or i may not be here to file the complaint at all. *tr

I took the battery out of an 2007 honda accord v-6 to get access to the headlight bulb behind the battery. i put the battery back into the car and installed the positive terminal then touched the negative terminal to the negative post on the battery and the car engine started without the key being turned on. if i would have had my hands in the wrong area in the engine compartment i would not be typing this e-mail. no one was in the car with the key turned on, the car started by itself and would not shut off when i turned the key to on or off, i had to get into the car and put it into gear and then back to park to get the key to shut the engine off. *tr

I'd like to report an issue with my 07 honda accord brakes with 32,642 miles. after a few miles of freeway driving (no stop and go) all 4 rotors are very hot. any rotor is too hot to touch, and in fact, would blister your finger. they are so hot that they sometimes smell of burnt brake material. these brake rotors are excessively hot without virtually any usage of the brakes. this is not a normal condition for any car. i do not use my brakes excessively, drive almost exclusively freeways, and got over 100,000 mile on my previous honda's rear brakes. i took my car to the local honda dealer for service under warranty. when i pulled in to the service area the service person came right out. i asked him to verify that the rotors were extremely hot. he did so. the reason i had asked the service person to verify the hot rotors was so that he could acknowledge the fact that the rotors were indeed hot before the car had a chance to cool down. after 20 minutes or so the service technician had the opportunity to check the brakes. he said that there were no hot spots on the rotors and there was no problem. of course the rotors were not hot after cooling down for 20 minutes. the service person also told me that the rear pads were close to needing replacement. needing to replace the rear pads after 33,000 mile of freeway driving is premature pad wear. the only reason for premature pad wear on my brakes after 33,000 miles is dragging brake pads. because the brakes are dragging all the time is the reason that the rotors are excessively hot and the reason that the pads are prematurely worn. this is not a normal condition for any car. brake rotors being excessively hot is a dangerous condition. rotors that are excessively hot all the time will lead to premature brake fade in conditions where the brakes would be used a lot, like driving downhill mountain grades. this is a definite safety issue. *tr

While parking my car in my garage, i had put it in park and took my foot of the brake pedal, my 2007 honda accord sedan lunged forward hitting my drywall, solar water heater, washer and dryer then it jumped back and stopped. i was so stunned as i didn't know what was happening here. instantly the car decided to go in reverse at an accelerated rate down the hill of my driveway hitting the concrete side of my neighbor's garage, their car and bounced forward up the hill to hit my house again and stopped at the crest of the hill. the car is totaled. state farm insurance hired an investigator sea that decided that there are no deficiencies yet they failed to look at the transmission, electronic control module, powertrain only reviewed the brakes, tires, throttle. can you help me. after reviewing an article of the toyotas and how they and other manufacturers have gone to a new electronic throttle control module which has resulted in the same type of problem, i accelerated as my foot was on the brake the whole time and the shift gear was in park. this needs to be investigated further . possible new recall. there are several other incidents listed on the honda malfunctions complaint page under 2007 honda accords with the same type of problems, cars being totaled and what recourse do we have as consumers? obviously state farm isn't going to pursue it with honda just charge to me as an accident and probably drop me and raise my rates sky high. i need help on how to pursue this further. $10,000 damage to my house, car totaled @ $18,000+, and $19,000+ damage to my neighbor's house. luckily no children were out and no deaths occurred as a result of this. the only air bag that deployed were the side curtains not the driver's side either. *tr

I was passing a large truck, downgeared into third gear, let out the clutch, and the transmission popped out of third gear. i found myself in neutral facing on coming traffic, and had to slam on my brakes and pull in behind the truck (almost had a head on collision). this popping out of gear, and difficulty shifting into gear has been going on for over a year and occurs perhaps 3 or 4 times a month. after this near miss i decided to get it fixed. before going to the dealer this morning i did an internet search on "3 gear accord 6 cylinder manual" and one of the results was honda service bulletin 08-020. this bulletin covers my 07 accord and is for "transmission grinds when shifting into 3rd gear, pops out of 3rd gear, or is hard to shift into 3rd gear, note: these symptoms can be intermittent and sometimes more noticeable in colder climates. faulty 3rd gear synchronizer or shift sleve" sounds exactly like my problem so i went to the dealer today to have it corrected. the dealer went for a test drive and couldn't duplicate the problem (it can go for over a week without showing up), he said honda's policy was unless they could see the problem honda would not authorize any repairs to be made. i called up us honda (800 999 1009) and spoke to a mr jimmy rudner who verified what the dealer said. so honda has found a problem with their transmission (the one that almost caused me to have a head on collision), released a service bulletin on how to fix it, but refuses to do any repairs until this 3 or 4 times a month intermittent problem starts to fail often enough for it to fail while the dealer is actually driving the car. meanwhile the problem continues. *tr

I was driving down 95n interstate highway in my 2007 honda accord when all of a sudden my side airbag curtain deployed on the passenger side. at the time i thought that i was in the middle of a car crash or something flew off of a truck that smashed into my side windows but when i turned to see, all i saw was my side airbag curtain hanging down. the sound alone scared me half to death it was the loudest popping sound i have ever heard! i somehow made my way to the breakdown lane to calm my nervous an try to figure out what happened. when i had the chance to get out an look @ my car i noticed there was no sign of impact (no dents, etc.) i called the dealership that i purchased my car from and explained what happened an they said they have never heard of such a thing happening an if i had replaced anything on my car.. it's a bran new car 1 1/2 yrs old, other than oil changes nothing has been replaced. thank god no one was in my passenger side seat which doesn't explain why the airbags were on in the 1st place. and thank god i didn't crash due to the horrifying sound and being scared to death! my ears were ringing for a good hour after it deployed. honda stated that i must have ran something over. they put my car on a lift an said there was a hole on the floor of my car which would have triggered the sensor which then set the airbag off. i know i didn't run anything over... i was just driving down the interstate. they then said that the slightest impact would set the sensor's off. so now my car is in a shop after having no car for 2wks. and i'm paying over a $1000 to get it repaired. honda has not been helpful in this whole ordeal. pretty much what i got out of what they said is that anytime that i run over any debris in the road that i now have to worry about my sensor's setting my airbags off. if their sensor's are so sensitive then this can be an ongoing issue and if it happens to someone else the outcome could be alot worse.... *tr

I was driving into a mcdonald's parking lot, looking for an empty spot so that we could use the rest rooms. it was nov. 30th, sunday afternoon, and the loot was full of people returning from their thanksgiving holiday. finally saw one open spot. as i turned right to enter the spot, there was a noise and a sudden acceleration. this parking spot ended with a 6 to 8 inch concrete curb. there was a sudden acceleration and my auto flew like a rocket ship into the concrete curb. smoke was coming out of the engine, oil was flowing all over the pavement, people were screaming get out of that car. fortunately, we turned the engine off immediately most probably avoiding a more serious problem. the damage to the body of my auto was almost $5000 and approximately the same amount to fix the engine. this car was only two years old with a mileage of approximately 22,000 miles. this car was in the honda body shop for 4 weeks until the repairs were completed. they were unable to duplicate the surge and therefore made no correction for the failure. *tr

Multiple electrical difficulties vehicle has been at the dealership on 2 separate occasions due to sporadic working of the power door locks and keyless entry system. they still have not found the issue. it is worse when it is humid and/or rains. during the winter months of 2007/2008; the stereo's lcd went warped and the whole stereo had to be replaced. on memorial day 2008; the drivers side seat caught fire while i was sitting in it parked waiting on my children to come out of a theme park. my husband burned his hand trying to put out the fire; and was out of work for about 2-weeks due to the burn. the dealership and honda refused to take responsibility for this fire; which started inside the seat due to the electronic seats and/or heated leather seats, as determined by the insurance company appraiser. the seat had to be replaced, the electronic seat components, heated leather seat components, part of the center console, and the carpeting and floor mats. we got the car back on july 3. on monday, july 7; my husband took the car to have it inspected (at the dealership); since the state inspection was past due. they rejected the inspection stating that the electronic system is not recognizing the seat belts. they later changed their tune when i called them and are now trying to say it wasn't that it was the airbag wasn't hooked up; and they could fix it. i know they are lying, and they are trying to cover their tracks as this i am sure is just another electrical issue in my car. i am at my wits end on what to do with this car. i can't afford to trade it in, i have spent over $1000 on rental cars waiting for it to be repaired, and now this. also, the power door locks still do not work. *tr

It's a major design flaw of honda to deviate from the standard that the dash lights do not illuminate unless the headlights are on. i'm sure most other drivers are accustomed to this standard. compound that with other vehicle models (of which we have two) that will turn on headlights automatically, and you have serious potential to drive at night without nothing but the automatic running lights on. these running lights produce enough reflective light, along with the dash lights, to lead the driver to believe they have the headlights on. *tr

We were driving on highway 75 in richardson, tx on 4/23/08 about 9pm on a stormy night with a lot of lightning and rain and the passenger side air bag and passenger side curtain airbags came out with a very loud gun shot like sound but did not fully inflate. my wife and i were trying to figure out what happened to cause them to do that so we slowed down and pulled over to the side of the highway. we thought we had been shot at or something was thrown at the car because we were not hit by another auto. i got out and looked the car over and found no reason for the airbags and curtain to do that. my wife was thoroughly shaken and is still "gun shy" so to speak today riding in any vehicle. we started to get back on the highway and a few car lengths down the road realized that we also had a flat on the front right tire. honda says we ran over something that caused the airbags to deploy and that it was an insurance issue since we coincidentally had a flat after the airbags partially deployed. we obviously did run over something to cut the tire but no reason to make the airbags partially deploy and we certainly never expected side impact air curtains and airbags to deploy even if we ran over something. the honda serviceman said whatever we hit raised the back floorboard 2 inches - we think in that car that low to the ground that we would have heard it hit and/or felt it hit if it did that much damage. we have had the car since last september and have not had one complaint and the outside of the car is just like brand new - not even a scratch on it. we have pictures of the car with the defected airbags and curtain shown with an "undamaged" body. the air curtain you can tell never inflated - looks like new with all the wrinkles and folds. it never hit my wife at all. we surely thought honda would have stood behind their products better than this. *tr

I have seen this problem on both honda and acura models. the dash board is illuminated and the day time running light are on but the headlights are not. the problem is the driver believes the lights are on as the dash board is on and they have some forward vision. i believe the problem is the owners forget to manually turn on the headlights. it appears as if the headlights are on when in fact they are not. the main problems is the tail lamps are not on. twice in the recent past on a dark curved section of the highway i have almost changed lanes into a black honda accord and on a different occasion a black acura tsx due to the same issue. from behind in the dark they are basically invisible. both times i have tried to notify the driver and both times i was unsuccessful. i could see their instrument panel illuminated and could not get them to understand their headlight were not on since from their perspective everything was on. either the headlights should turn on automatically or the instrument panel should not be illuminated if the headlight are off. the current operation of these vehicles is unsafe. *tr

Honda 6spd transmission has problem with 3rd gear. when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear, transmission will either pop out of gear or grind into gear. problem does not occur all of the time and started with the first 7,500 miles. problem occurs at various intervals at about 1-5% of total drive time. this usually takes place when i first start driving the car but still happens after this at fewer intervals. i've taken the car in several times and addressed the issue at every service. the dealer is unable to reproduce the problem since the issue doesn't happen very often. on or about the 21 feb 08 the transmission failed to enter 2nd gear. i was able to get it into 2nd but could not shift into 1st gear. the dealer fixed the issue with 1st gear and said they fixed 3rd. on the drive home and there after i still had trouble shifting from 2nd to 3rd. i now have trouble shifting from 3rd to 4th. i've tried to take it in recently but they where still unable to reproduce the problem. *tr

When pressing on the gas pedal, car hesitates and then will surge or lunge and then accelerate. also when applying a little pressure to the brake to slow the car down, the car will automatically apply more brake and the car will lunge forward to an abrupt stop. *tr

Check gas cap started flashing in the odometer section. i had recently filled up three days earlier. found out later that you have to turn the gas cap until you hear three clicks (not just one). one click or no clicks will cause the error to show up. it took a few days for the check cap error to show up. i tightened the gas cap correctly and drove 15 miles and the error cleared itself. other than the self-induced error my accord has run perfectly. *tr

I am an otr cdl-licensed driver, and, on more than a few occasions over the past 6 months, i have observed several models of nissan and honda vehicles cruising at dusk with their dash lights on, but with no exterior marker, parking, tail, or headlights burning. they are virtually invisible, especially when mixed in with other normally-illuminated vehicles. when alerted as they pass by horn and flashing lights, the driver's usual reaction is to slam on the brakes, and then turn on the headlights. if the headlight switch is configured to actuate the dash lights separately from the exterior lights, that is a definite safety problem. the problem also may be with the allowable threshold sensitivity of the twilight sensor. *tr

I was driving with my family in my new accord purchased brand new less than seven months ago when i noticed the a/c began to get warm within about 5 minutes it was blowing hot air. i was a little upset as we about 50 miles from home and it was about 95 degrees out but figured not a huge problem i will just take it to the dealership and have the problem fixed under warranty, but when i got the call from the dealer it was not covered under warranty due to the fact that the a/c condenser was damaged by some type of road debris. i went the dealer and asked to be shown the problem and the mechanic raised the car on the lift i could see a small amount of damage about half the size of a dime and the mechanic said it was leaking all the freon out through this minute hole. when the car was up on the lift you can see where these huge opening allowing anything to enter and damage this extremely fragile material this a/c condenser is made of. my incident occurred in the summer and i only can imagine how many pebbles will ruin my a/c condenser when winter comes and they start sanding the roads here in colorado. i guess this problem will be something i have to worry about until i trade my accord in on a new toyota camry. honda's are supposed to be known for durability but from looking on this site i see this has been a problem from all the way back in 2003 and honda has done nothing to address the problem. good bye honda hello toyota *tr

I have a bulge on the side of my tire, my husband took it to honda they said he probably hit a pot hole, and we are liable for the tire which was quoted at $300.00. i am going to a michelin dealer on sept. 4, to check out the tire. i have 2000 miles on the car leased it in april of 2007 and the dealer says i hit a pot hole. i told him the bulge is on the side of the tire and do i have to buy a new tire everytime i hit a pothole. my car is brand new, i have a ford taurus with cheap tires and never had a problem. your help is would be greatly appreciated. is there any way i can find out if this happens to many tires? *tr

Hit mound of ice at very low speed (under 5mph), plastic bumper cover split and caught on ice. when i backed up to get off ice, entire plastic bumper cover was ripped off. was told by repair shop this part may have become brittle due to extreme cold weather and the slightest impact caused it to split. cost over $900 to repair a piece of plastic. plastic bumper cover and pieces that held it on had to be replaced. car has been repaired, don't know whereabouts of old parts, if still at shop or not. no damage to any other parts of the car, just the bumper cover.

The brake lights for honda accord '07 have lead indicator lights. it is very glaring even at day time which very irritating to the person driving behind the car. more over, it is a big safety issue for the person to drive in this situation because of this brake lights because it creates head ache. i talked many people about it, they complain the same. it should be replaced with conventional light. i am not sure if any other auto maker using this same kind of light. all this lights should be replaced with conventional brake light. *jb

Brand new 2007 honda accord lx purchased the car on february 16, 2007. on february 19, i started the car and the srs indicator lamp stayed lit the entire time the car was operating. each time i started the car later on that day, the srs lamp did not stay on after the initial start-up. on february 20, i drove to work and did not have a problem with the light staying on, but later in the day when i started the car the srs lamp came on and stayed on the entire time i drove it. the car has a total of 150 miles and already am having srs sensor glitches. *nm

I was currently in a mva at the time of the collision i was only traveling approx. 25 mph, i have suffered severe injury to my breast due to the seat belt. every doctor that i have seen and even the insurance adjusters have never seen a seat belt injury to this extent. *jb

2007 honda accord lx. delivery taken in december 2006. front driver's seat has become extremely uncomfortable to sit in and drive. lumbar support "wings" are extremely hard causing severe pain and numbness in my lower back (pain and numbness last for a time after i get out of car) if i sit and drive over 15 minutes. i visited dealership, told nothing they could do and to buy a lumbar roll for my seat. came home and called customer service and i was informed that "a tech says" the foam can in fact become very hard under cold weather conditions as being experienced in massachusetts in 2007. was told to go out and buy a lumbar support pillow that inflates and put it in car only when i drive and run the heater before i get in for a while. problem should disappear when weather warms up, but will continue during cold weather. this is totally unacceptable, car cannot be garaged to protect against cold weather. how can i drive this car in the future winters with this existing problem? *nm

This is a complaint about a particular model car that i do not own, but have driven behind at night. the brake lights on the new, 2007 i think, honda accord, are painfully bright. they are so bright, i pulled down the visor to shield my eyes the other night, and my 12 year old child complained because she could not effectively do the same. i have noticed this several times at dark, and have finally remembered to sit down and submit a complaint. this model honda accord has led taillights. the taillights are not too bright, when the car is not braking. it is just when the car is braking and the brake lights are on. i have noticed many other cars using led lights, such as hyundai's and kia's that do not have this issue. is there a standard of brightness that lights are measured against? i think these must fail. they are too bright, and should at least be adjusted on unsold cars, and next year's model. thanks for your consideration. *jb

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 30 mph on normal road conditions, there was a loud popping sound from the front left side of the windshield. the sound also occurred when driving on rough roads. the sales/service dealer was notified and the vehicle was inspected. when the contact drove the vehicle again, the problem continued, so the vehicle was returned to the sales/service dealer. the sales/service dealer refused to provide a refund, replace the vehicle or to replace the seal to the windshield. the manufacturer was notified. *nm the consumer found a service bulletin regarding improperly sealed windshields (molding problems) that cause popping/rattling noise. the vehicle was taken to the dealer but they claimed they could not hear the noise. *nm the fuse box under the hood near the dashboard and in the interior of the car were tightened because they were loose. this affected the daytime running lights. the left front strut and the firewall were too close and were rubbing together. the gaskets were shrinking around the windshield which were causing the windshield vibrating problems. the windshield sprayer was clogged. the exhaust heat shields were loose. the front door window channels were lubricated and finally replaced because of the excessive rattling noise. the door jambs were irregular which added to the window rattling problem. updated 01/10/08 . *jb
