Shifter Stuck in Park, was told it was Not COVERED UNDER RECALL BY MY vin #?

engine sludged up and failed no warning this was happining

vehicle stalled while in gear. Female driver was moving forward in the vehicle veering slight left to merge onto interstate 75 when the vehicles steering wheel locked causing her to almost hit a cement pylon head on. There was air blowing from AC vents but all electrical/engine was off, vehicle was put in park, turned off then restarted without a problem. The vehicle was taken to the dealership an hour away. They kept it for a week, charged us 500 in repairs, the vehicle stalled while in gear two days later when owner was leaving work 30 miles from home. When vehicle was taken back to dealership the dealership claims the 500 dollars in work they did would not have fixed the stalling!!! But that was the complaint/reason it was in the shop..No other reason! The dealership then replaced the main relay fuse worth fifteen dollars. Our other vehicle was in the shop, leaving only the Dodge Charger in our driveway. I had to rush the owner of the vehicle to the hospital for severe dehydration after she blacked out in our home. The Dodge Charger stalled backing out of the driveway en route to a hospital. We took the vehicle to the dealership again. corporate got in contact with the dealership in less then 12hours this time. An ignition wire was replaced. Less then two weeks after , the vehicle stalled while the owner was about to get onto the interstate. We dropped the vehicle off August 29th at Dodge Galeanana of Ft Myers Florida. This vehicle is a safety concern and is not drivable. She was almost rear ended pulling away from a stop sign because the car stalled half in the intersection. We need cash compensation for this vehicle so we can get her a safer vehicle. I have been missing work so she can use my car to keep her higher paying job…while I’m looking at losing my job because of my availability. We have been without the Dodge charger for well over 60days accumulative due to the vehicle stalling while in gear and the dealership not being able to replicate the “problem”.
The vehicle has stalled while under 15mph each incident. It has stalled; while reversing, while accelerating forward, while merging twice. When it happens there is no indication or sound. Everything just cuts out but the air conditioner, the you turn the air off and hear the engine isnt running and that’s why you cant accelerate. We have been able to put the car in park each time, turn the key to off, Then restart the vehicle with no problems. the stalling happens in one week intervals or longer.

enine noise knocking dealer in which the car purchased could not identify so was taken to another where they talked with tech at dodge and replaced engine with short block about 2000 miles noise comes back so carryed back to dealer purchased from and they kept for a few weeks to tellus it was the rocker arms and then they test drove noise still there they told us couldn’t fix and didn’t know what the problem was or where its coming from.we are dealing with dodge and a 3rd party to take car back and furnish us with the option to get another vehicle msrp for msrp but the person handling this 3rd party person keeps draging process out, we’ve done all they’ve request and still no satification after about 2 months,they are concerned about charging us mileage and the motor has been a problem since we had it, it was purchased in jan 07

the engine 2.7 the oil sludge up and caused the engine to lock up and kept the oil change from the dealership. now it has to have a new engine in it and we still owe $8000.. on the car yet. I just got the car in aug.2009 If you can help us pay for this please do. the 2.7 engine bloc is trash the push rods when through the block un happy about all of this

When driving around town, come to stop and car begins to stall out.

This is an ongoing problem that began sometime after the airbag recall replacement and continues to happen. car can be in motion driving down the road or stationary in park or with foot on the brake. for some unknown reason i will hear a ding ding ding, simultaneously all lights will start blinking and the gauges go hay wire dropping and jumping. all alerts will be flashing (including but not limited to gas, transmission, brake etc.). since a picture cannot exemplify what is happening, a video of a similar (if not the same) problem can be found here: https://youtu.be/qdz-uczi2de this is not a video of my car but it is similar to what is happening in my car.

My vehicle begins to stall out at low speeds or while idling. while slowing down for a light or just waiting for the traffic light to change. i brought the vehicle to the chrysler dealership at gwinnette chrysler stone mountain georgia and the problem was diagnosed to be the fuel tank needing replacement after paying 3000.00 dollars for repairs that did not resolve the issue. i was then given a final diagnosis that the fuel tank was the issue and it was going to cost 4500.00 to replace. today is april 1 and i just picked up my vehicle after it was sitting in the dealership for almost 1 month and still the problem has not been resolved. please help me. my vehicle is sitting in my driveway with a car cover because i am afraid to drive it in this condition. lascelle a. soares 919 natchez valley trace grayson georgia 30017 718 644 6371. The front passenger braking system locks up, abs control module

While on the freeway i turned on my air conditioner and all of a sudden the fan blade fell apart disintegrated and it broke my radiator i understand that there is a recall but certain bins don't can't be involved in the recall i don't understand because my car has the same problem as the recall but i can't get any information about if it's going to get fixed or not

I was in a crash that was worse then it could have been if the air bag had deployed the way it should have i was slammed in to the steering wheel so hard it whipped me back and forth twice after i looked down my air bag ripped out the wheel and not came out a little it never deployed the way the air bag should my passenger also was slammed hard in to the dash board and then her air bag shot her off the dash but didn't deploy proper. air bags are meant to save lives and my air bag almost took my life the pain is in real i couldn't wish this on anyone and now i have to live my life in so much pain i have a nearly broken neck with almost. every disk bulging in my neck and possibly brain damage and i also have lost my job and my home now i can't get help and the pain is so not fair i suffer ptsd now and brain injury i'm so lost right now have spin damage possible nerve damage and joint damage along with suvier head concision post concision syndrome an memory loss also i now have mood swings i can't control this is worse then dieing i'm hurt so bad due to negligent ppl

Problem #1: one of the cooling fan blades sheered off and & flew into the radiator. i was at a complete stop and broke off when i started to accelerate. i replaced the broken blade (didn't have enough money to replace both) and radiator. about a year or less later the other fan blade sheered off (the one i didn't replace) and went into the radiator. this time also during accelerating after a complete stop. deja vu. this time i had to replace the entire fan assembly (because the blades were on backorder) and radiator. when i went to the dodge dealership they said there was a recall on the same blades but only the 2006 model. problem #2: it is now loosing propulsion. the power stays on it just stops moving forward. i can put it in park & then back in gear and it moves, but barely. it isn't consistent but it is terrifying. i have googled possible issues and it seems like a lot of people are having the same problem and they have linked it to a bad pcm. i took it to a mechanic but of course it didn't do it while he had it. i have been told, by dodge, that they are the only ones that can do a full diagnostic, that other devices only cover about 30% of the program. that alone seems unfair if not illegal. i cannot afford $110 just to find out what's wrong. my trunk light doesn't work either & even dodge can't find out why. it's not the bulb, it's not the fuse, and the electrical connection is good. according to them. i have more images and receipts but can't figure out how to attach them.

The car shakes and shimmies. it has been doing it for a few years and keeps getting worse. the higher the speed the more it shakes. it shakes right up the steering column into the steering wheel. i fear the shaking will result in other parts failing which could lead to an accident. car is very scary to drive. if a steering rod fails because of this it could be catastrophic.

Vehicle would not shift out of park. car was taken to dodge dealer where other recalls that were associated with vin were addressed (i.e. driver and passenger airbag) the dealer was not able to address the interlock lever as it was not in their system and they directed me to contact chrysler to address the discrepancy. chrysler had issued "customer satisfaction notification k39" in february of 2011 that addressed this transmission shifter interlock lever. the notification indicates there are about 28,800 vehicles that may be affected and provides instructions on getting it repaired if your vehicle build date falls between june 25,2007 through september 21,2007 (my vehicle was built 3 months prior to this window) and because of this does not populate into the dealerconnect global recall system. it is my logic that the dates established in the notification do not fully encompass the issue being addressed, and because of these hard dates that dictate whether your vehicle is affected (regardless of whether or not you are stuck in park) , i have had no progress in dealing with chrysler group 'recall' assistance center because to them, on paper, my car is "not affected". for amplifying data, reference "customer satisfaction notification k39"

My vehicle was released to me from carstar of macon with a knowingly inoperable tpms on all four of my tires. i was not told this before i paid and drove away. i got 5 minutes down the road and felt violent shaving in the steering wheel. i turned around and drove the vehicle back to carstar and waited about 20 minutes for them to tell me that they were aware that the tpms was inoperable. that they were aware that all four sensors were not working properly and that one had actually fallen out into the tire itself and was bouncing around in the wheel well knocking off the alignment of the vehicle. they gave me an option of fixing it or removing the sensors. i was told that they would try to contact my insurence company to see if they would pay for the damaged parts that were operating normally before they switched out the new tire wheels. again they release the vehicle to me with an inoperable tpms system and advise me to drive over 60 mph.

Vehicle shift interlock latch is broken. the latch allows the vehicle to shift from gear to gear or will prevent the shifting. after researching the issue, it was learned the piece was a recall piece (k39) but according to dodge only on certain vehicles and our vehicle does not meet the standards required for recall. although dodge just simply ships the same item to various location across the world, our vehicle was built in the area that does not afford recall status; eventhough it was built with the exact same faulty part.

Takata recall - this is a police fleet vehicle and has been out of service since november of 2016 based solely on this recall. i have tried dealing with fca fleet management with no success. the local dealer says they have the driver's side airbag but not the pass. side airbag. this has been an issue as we have been down a vehicle for almost a year at this point with no remedy in sight

Was going to town and as soon as i stopped at the store i seen steam coming from under my hood and popped the hood and had water spraying out of my radiator by the fan got to looking at it good and all the fan blades was broke off and one of then went into the radiator. took it to the dodge dealership in town and they told me the recall l08 was only for the v6 motors and i had to fix it myself.

Takata recall. this vehicle is used by my son who car pools to school. the distance is approx 35 - 45 minute commute each way. while i have been notified of the recall , i don't think the solution is satisfactory. since this vehicle has a passenger most every day i think dodge should provide a loaner/rental until the problem is fixed. lives are at stake!

I was driving when i heard a loud noise. i then went to a repair shop, i was told that one of the blades on the fan had broke and put a hole in my radiator. i contacted dodge and the lady i spoke with did know about the problem but she stated that my car was made in a different factory so i was not part of the recall. which i think is unfair since i had the same problem like everyone else

When i bought this 2007 dodge charger i started having problems with my brakes and i took it to the dealear to be checked out because everytime i hit the brakes it felt like it was scratching the ground but they keep telling me it was fine they don't know what i was talking about so when i left the dealer it did it again they told me that they had already checked it and they didn't find nothing to bring it another time so i kept bringing it so many times they kept telling me the same thing so i stop taking it than later my shifter broke i took it to the dealer and i had bought a bumper to bumper warranty and they told me it doesn't cover it , they try to charge me $580. so i did a research on how to fix it on youtube and i bought the part i only pay $10. for the part. and i fixed it myself i saved me $570. so i stop taking my car to them because i used to do my oil change but they charge me too much

The software programmed into the powertrain control module cause a momentary lock up of the drive wheels if the vehicle is traveling over 40 mph and the operator shifts from drive to neutral and back to drive. the vehicle was in motion on a city street, highway and when i do turns. also the driver and front passenger airbag are inflator

I purchased this car 2 years ago with the title, just having it at my parents house because i have another car. i drove it back to memphis on the highway and it jerked, cut the car off turn it back on it drives no more than 30 mph. got a reading at 2 different auto zones, and got a tune up, oil change, and wire coils that go with the car. still the same problem. so i drive the car back to my parents house a hour away from memphis and it’s going slow, so of course law enforcement had some questions that almost allowed me to get the car towed at the times with the coronavirus going on as well.. so, after i get my slow car out the impound, i looked on cars.com and i see a previous recall on my car that i didn’t see at the time or purchase or had any idea of, that might be a little to late to fix even though these the exact same problems i’m having at this present moment. my car jerks back when trying to put it in the reverse or drive. so, i go back to autozone, in the little town because now i’m afraid to move my car because of the danger it’s in. autozobe don’t want to do the reading so i do it myself because they’re not allowed to get into people cars at this time. so, keep in mind i’ve got the work done to the car and i’m coming back to confirm that i did do those things. the man who worked at autozone told me it was something with my wiring, and to take it back to the dealership because they cannot find the part needed in the store i seen it with my own eyes the screen turn blank. took it to dodge, they just replace the air bags, and of course offer to make me spend money. i told them about the previous recall on my car and no one helped even though there is a maximum 10 years. but if these cars are still selling and being used there shouldn’t be any time frame for the problem to be fixed because the car is now unsafe and unusable, and the owner out of money.

The turn signal light dimmer broke on the inside of the steering wheel , it won't return to the middle after you turn left or right. almost gotten in a few accident because my signal light was still on.

Car goes to limp mode it feels like it loses power.steering wheel control s dont work and wipers stop when they want

2007 dodge charger 5.7 170,000+ miles stalling immediately or shortly after fueling without warning while in drive. identical to same issues in the 2006 models. car is in motion each time it has stalled on city streets in heavy traffic. car threw evap canister codes. components were repaired but car continued to stall after ever full tank of gas. car threw evap leak code. no leaks found. fuel pump was checked and tank checked for over flow. no leaks. no gas smell. fuel pump and evap system ruled out as cause. the issue seems to be with the tank itself.

I was in a drive thru waiting on the cashier, when i heard a loud explosion and pop from under my engine. i could also feel it through my brake pedal. scared and wondering what the heck just happened? i immediately pulled forward and parked my car and turned the engine off. i got out of my vehicle and noticed fluid leaking. i popped the hood and found some shattered plastic pieces. upon my 1st inspections my fan was what shattered. i made a few calls and when a mechanic came to inspect 20 minutes later, he said the fan exploded causing pieces to then hit the radiator. now both parts need to be replaced. now investigation, i see this is a common problem for chargers and i'm wondering why there isn't a recall. i cant even imagine what could've happened if i was driving. i also had my child in the car. scary enough while the car wasn't moving. tis happened out of the blue with no prior warnings.

I purchased a set of nexen roadian hp 102v tires in july 2015, size 265/35/22. i recently went to get my vehicle serviced when i was told that i needed new tires and was asked to come take a look. all 4 of my tires had cracked around the shoulder of the tires, and the cracking was on the opposite side of the tire that i have no vision of. this is a serious matter that i wouldn't have never known if i hadn't taken my vehicle in to be serviced. i have only put a little over 20,000 miles on these tires and the treading is great which doesn't show any signs of neglect. the place i purchased the tires from agreed that the tires are in great condition, & the tires had the correct pressure in the etc. they also said that i'm not the first person that has come in with the same issue with nexen roadian hp tires. they sent all of the paperwork in to the manufacturer and they are the worst. bernardo was very rude and trying to put blame on the customer (me) when he was clearly told by the place i purchased the tires from which are the same one's that took pictures of the tires and did the inspection that they see absolutely no fault of mine and that the tires are just defective. so then i asked for the dot numbers, and what do we discover??? the manufacturing date was stamped 4715, how could this be if i purchased the tires in july 2015? there is something shady going on and nexen needs to be investigated, my car has been at mccarthy tire for 2 weeks and now that the dot issue has been discovered no one has an answer to why it's stamped for the 47th week of 2015, it's only 52 weeks in a year which means i would've had to by those tires in november 2015. the reviews i'm reading on nexen tires are exactly the same issue that i'm having, what is it going to take before a recall is done on nexen tires?

I was sitting at a stop light and heard a pop. the cooling fan blade on the passenger side of the car had broken and made a hole in my radiator. i immediately took the car to a mechanic and they replaced the fan blade and the radiator. three weeks later the exact same thing happened to the fan blade on the driver side of the car, once again making a hole in my new radiator. i feel that this is a huge design flaw and, apparently, a huge problem with 2006-2008 chargers. i'm so glad i was in town on small local streets both times when this happened. it would have been terrible if it had happened on the freeway. i checked with the dealer to see if there is any kind of recall for this part and there isn't. i have the 5.7l v6 hemi charger and it has a little over 100,000 miles.

I drove my 2007 dodge charger to a local store. i went in and came out inside of 10 minutes. i started my it started making the unusual noise. i then drove it to hilltop chrysler jeep dodge ram located at 3291 auto plaza drive, richmond, ca 94806 (510) 243-6100 where i was charged over $1100 to be told that my engine had dropped a valve seat. i was then told that it would be over $9000 for a new engine as they don't repair old engines.

My husband and i were riding in our vehicle, all of a sudden we heard a loud pop sound come from the front of the vehicle. my husband then observed the temperature gauge on the vehicle rising, and the red light suddenly appeared. we were only minutes away from our home when this occurred, so we were able to immediately returned home. once the vehicle was parked in the driveway, the hood was opened and we both observed a plastic fan blade broken and hanging out of the fan's casing. we also observed fluid inside of the hood underneath of thw line directly across from the broken hanging fan blade. we also observed fluid on the ground directly underneath of this line. vehicle has 137,000 miles on it. vehicle is scheduled to go into shop monday morning.

As i'm driving down the freeway in the fast lane the vehicle stalls. i'm able to maneuver across all three lanes of traffic to get on the shoulder and call aaa roadside. when the tow truck gets to my location he puts 2 gallons of gas in my tank and the vehicle starts right up. meanwhile the gas gauge is showing a quarter tank. after looking up if this has happened to anyone else i came across numerous online posts stating that the same thing has happened to them as well. this is a huge safety concern as it can result in a very bad accident from losing power steering and power brakes as a result of the engine stalling out from fuel starvation and the gas gauge showing a quarter tank.

I've had many issues wrong with my car. the first complaint i would like to express is how the car shuts off on me without warning. while driving on the freeway and on busy streets, my car will shut off, but it will start right back up. this is a dangerous hazard and safety concern. i've taken my car to the gresham dodge (on ne burnside) dealership to address this issue (503-666-2277). i was told "if it happens again, bring it back" there was no concern with dodge that they were sending a dangerous vehicle back out on the road, that could potentially cause an accident. this was an issue that needed to be addressed now, not later. dodge never solved that issue. furthermore, my car was stuck in the park position on the eve of 4-18-16. i tried to get it into gear, without any success. i had to call for a tow truck. while waiting for a tow, i decided to google dodge chargers stuck in park. on youtube, there were so many others with the same issue. they had video of how to get the car out of park. you had to pry the covering off of the shifting unit. stick a pen inside to move a wire around, in order to get the car into gear. it worries me that dodge is aware of transmission issues and other issues with their vehicles, yet nothing is being done to fix it. i could of seriously been hurt or seriously hurt someone else while being on the freeway and my car just shutting off. they should be concerned enough to want to look into this issue and fix it. as i stated before, there are numerous videos on youtube with other people experiencing the very same issues. i did file a complaint on the bbb website, along with everyone else. my main objective for this site is to bring out how dangerous it is to operate my car under these conditions, that dodge did not seem to care about. sounds as if there are transmission and or engine issues with the car that needs immediate attention.

Driving a 2007 dodge charger with about 21k miles. yesterday, while driving in town, i took a right turn and while navigating the turn with the signal on, i heard a loud plastic-on-plastic popping and creaking noise. when the turn signal went off, there was a loud pop and the left signal turned on!! now, when i turn right i hear clicking from the wheel/column and when the signal cancels it does it so hard that it activates the turn signal of the opposite direction. i’m sure the other drivers on the road believe i’m confused which way i’m going – i’m so glad it didn’t cause an accident! so the turn signal in the steering wheel makes a plastic 'popping' noise, and is making it difficult to steer on a turn. the dealer said it's the clockspring. numerous posts on forums mention the same issue. there's been a recall on chrysler/dodge minivans in the early 2000's for the same issue (clockspring).... but not one for this vehicle! a problem like this appears to be a 'cheap' plastic part failing - i have 21k miles on this car (but obviously past the 3-yr warranty)... parts should *not* fail at 21k miles!

Was issued a safety recall for the driver airbag inflator housing. have attempted to get problem fixed with local dealer, champaign chrysler dodge jeep, and have been told that parts were unavailable and that i would be placed on a waiting list to be called when they became available. first called july 21st, 2015. have called multiple times and been told the same thing every time with slight variations of timing for parts to arrive. nothing has been done as of today, january 4th, 2016.

There's a problem with the head gaskets on the 2.7 v6 engines. my charger is boiling coolant in the reservoir coolant tank and when you run the rpm's up to 3x, coolant spray out the coolant cap. i replaced the thermostat, the coolant top itself, i did a radiator flush and also changed spark plugs and at this point i don't know what else to do. my car has 15400 miles on it and it happens day after day but now it seems as if the issue has gotten worse. i was told that all or most the 2.7 engines has had this issue and had to replace the whole engine. after explaining to dodge chrysler jeep what my vehicle was doing i paid $125 for a diagnostic test and they said that it failed the block test and it's recommended to tear down the top cylinder heads to check for warped gaskets. please get back to me with any resolutions.

Ive had issues that i am reporting to thus site. dealership said my vin didn't match. my esp, abs, and bas lights have been on for 2 years. i went to dealership to inquire on ecu flash with new software by recall, but the dealership said only police package vehicles were included in that recall. ive researched countless hours to find very many people who have this same problem. now i am needing to bring my car in for the airbag recall. from what it states on this website, my recall was ordered back in may, 2015. from the information that i read, there was supposed to be a 60 day time span within which the dealership was supposed to fix my airbag issue, and the fact that my vehicle vin number falls under this recall order, i believe that i was previously misled by chrysler dodge jeep about the issues pertaining to my abs, bas, and esp issues which regard a wheel speed sensor, from my understanding, that causes me to lose traction, trouble braking in moist to wet weather, and my cruise control option has not worked since the abs, bas, and esp lights first came on 2 years ago, when my wheels lost traction while pulling into a gravel driveway at about 5 miles an hour.i drove off road accidentally twice in the passed year: the first time was caused by a lack of abs and a braking assistance system which caused only minor damage to front bumper. the second time was due to loss of tire traction while pulling away from a stop sign while it was raining, causing me to spin out into a 180 degrees turn to which my tires caught traction and i acceled through a white picket fence on the corner of the street while my foot firmly jammed on the brake pedal to try and prevent personal or external damage. still damaging passenger fender and front grille. i'm close to request of a depreciated financial reimbursement on vehiclal. my safety, security, and trust has become compromised.

I received an safety recall notice in the mail for my driver airbag inflator housing, that will rupture. i call don jackson dodge dealer in jonesboro ga. made an appointment for july 15 2015 at 9am. they tell me they dont have the part and that they will put me on a list and call me when they get the part. well its been a month now. today is august 20,2015 i just called them back today. i am not on a list for this part and the lady i talk to couldnt pull my name up in the system. so technically they erase all my information from their system. now im worried something may happen while im driving the car wirh my air bag. this was not a professionally thing to do. what should i do now?

I was driving my 2007 dodge charger and my motor was lock-up. i did not know for sure till i took it to dodge and i had to pay them for this service. although they did tell me how much it would cost for another motor 8500 like really. furthermore,the problem was the cooling system which gave no sign or warning til the engine lock-up. therefore i purchased a use engine same year and model for my 5.7 hemi motor which dodge refuse to give a warranty on but they make them. sad. i bought a new radiator clean/flushed my cooling system. now the same thing happened to the motor i just was able to put in same problem cooling system. please help or let me trade my car in. i honestly think dodge should recall these cars because they built some poor motor and expect hard working people to pay for their poor judgement in building these pretty car.

On the above date during inspection of vehicle it was determined the vehicle has abnormal frame rot causing the vehicle to be unsafe. vehicle is a police car. the town to south five miles and town to east 2miles has same cars since discovered identical rot. another town 25 miles has same problem (all police cars) i have spoke with dodge and then are aware and offering to pay half to repair. these are very popular cars for law enforcement and models run 06-10. i feel this dangerous issue especially for police use that needs to be addresses. i find is all to interesting that four cars with 25 miles has same issue make all cars not serviceable . all town are small police dept and loss of these cars in hurting our efforts to provide for the community. dodge has given our dept 30 days to accept offer. *tr

While my car was idling the electric cooling fan came apart and the fan blades impaled into my radiator. luckily it happened right after i cranked the car and before i got on the interstate. i learned that chrysler is aware of this problem and will pay for some cars to be repaired. this is in customer satisfaction notice l-08 from chrysler. i was told my car fit the criteria of this notice, year, make, model, etc. except the notice says "severe duty" fan module and according to the man on the phone my car has a "heavy duty" module. my car did exactly what the other cars that were covered did. so basically chrysler is saying it is acceptable for my fan to come apart and sling pieces into my radiator and no telling what else because my hemi 5.7 has a heavy duty piece on the fan but it is not acceptable for the severe duty piece on the same car to do it. this could have been a dangerous situation if it had happened at 70 mph and for the notice to have been written in the first place someone was aware of that. this notice or recall may need to be expanded before someone gets hurt. *tr

This vehicle while driving 40 mph down the road suddenly had the battery light come on then the transmission light then all the warning gauges came on and started blinking as this was happening the vehicles engine was accelerating and decelerating, and the vehicle would not go past first gear road the shoulder until i could get safely off the road. shut vehicle off it seemed to correct the problem. went to have battery and alternator checked both were fine. since then every few days the battery light will come on and then go off after vehicle is restarted. today 2/11/2015 the battery light came on again and the vehicle started to buck around 40 mph then stop if i accelerated or decelerated. and at one point when idling at a red light it stalled and then started back up. i have heard a lot of similar issues with this problem with this vehicle. we as the consumers should not to be made to shell out thousands of dollars for things that the manufacturer should stand behind. we pay enough for the car to begin with we shouldn't have to pay more for something that is obviously not isolated to one or two incidents. some of the parts that are rumored to be the problem are fcm, tcm, and ecm. all are supposedly fixed with a computer update. well then so be it don't charge us the consumer. *tr

We have experienced a shudder while stopped for lights on and off for years, since the car was new in 07. the dealer could not find anything wrong (no codes) and could not duplicate the complaint. then in 2013 it began stalling at lights after the shudder and sometimes without the shudder. again leaving no codes. i'm a ase certified master tech of forty years. a torque converter lockup could cause it to shudder and stall, but should leave a code. but a defective crank position or cam position sensor could shut igntion off without leaving a code. therefore, for a total of $32.50 i changed both sensors. it fixed both issues for 7 or 8 months. suddenly, today 12/30/14 it's doing both again! there's to many complaints about this to ignore the safety issues of stalling in traffic while standing still driving 60 mph.help fix this problem before someone is killed!!!!!! thanks. *js

I own a 2007 dodge charger v6 engine on nov the 14th i was driving 40 miles per hour oil light suddenly came on started flashing really fast and making a dinging noise, all of a sudden there was a loud fast ticking under hood then the car shuts off luckily i was close to the dodge dealership i was able to coast into the parking lot i cut the car off and tried to crank it back up it would not start but all my lights came on as if it was going to crank the technician came and checked my oil it was full and clear because i make sure i keep my routine maintenance done on my vehicles, they told me that they needed to keep my car to figure out what was wrong with it i said ok that's fine, on nov 17th 2014 i called to see if they had found out what was wrong they told me that my motor had locked up how is that possible when i keep everything checked and up to date and fluid levels checked i also get the 16 point multi check done every time i go in there it gets put on the machine to check to see if there are any issues with my car, in other words i need a new motor i always do preventive maintenance on my charger this should not have happened at all. i also needed to replace my gear shift it got stuck in park and i had to have it towed and i had to pay to get the gear shift replaced, as well as getting the relay switch replaced as well. needless to say i am still without transportation. *tr

When in gear and vehicle is moving, reverse and drive, the vehicle will seize, causing loss of steering and speed. while this vehicles vin number is not recognized on the recall list, we have had several recall problems with the vehicle which dodge did except responsibility for by paying the repair cost. i want to document that 3 body shops including a certified dodge dealer cannot diagnose this vehicles seizing problem. this is the fourth time it is going into the shop for seizing while in gear. if someone is injured in this vehicle when it malfunctions i hold dodge jeep and chrysler fully labial for negligence and possible conspiracy of current knowledge of vehicles with faulty equipment and failure to document all such vehicles by leaving their vin numbers off the recall forms. *tr

The 2007 dodge charger seized while in gear; loss of control and speed; locked steering wheel,no acceleration,while moving at 3mph in reverse once and while merging onto i-75 @ ~8mph two other times all within 5 weeks of each other but with no indicator warning dash lights illuminating.neither of the auto mechanics could find a problem.the vehicle hasn't seized up, but the vehicle's check engine light and electronic throttle control indicator warning lights came on last week.the dodge charger manual says if the electronic throttle control light comes on, to discontinue use of the vehicle until an authorized dealer can evaluate the problem.july 7th 2014 the vehicle went to a certified dealer to be diagnosed. they said they couldn't find a reason for the lights being on.sure enough they ran me up a 900 dollar bill consisting of the following repairs:filter tr 21170001/sealer no 01081003/fluid atf 01081018/antifreeze 01081004/connector 09004009. i was told by the service manager these were the repairs needed: water outlet housing/transmission hydraulic service w/ programming/air filter/ fuel system cleaning we picked the vehicle up july 10th 2014 from dealership, drove it directly home.my girlfriend drove the vehicle 30 miles to work july 12th 2014,after an 8 hour shift she started the dodge charger letting it run idle for 5 minutes before exiting the parking lot.the vehicle was brought to a stop before entering the interstate. when she tried to accelerate the vehicle did not move or make a revving sound, the steering wheel was locked tight but hot air was continuing to blow from vents.no indicator lights were present before during or after the event. the vehicle hadn't physically acted up since the first 3 times 7 months ago, so we immediately called the dealer and she drove it directly there. *tr

On june 2, 2014 i was stopped at a stop light waiting to turn when i heard a loud bang followed by what felt like something falling out of my motor. once i turned i turned off onto the service road to check what happened. my car immediately began to over heat and my gage went from in between the cool range to hot range. i did not want to drive my car any further in order to prevent any unnecessary damages. i called my husband who then came to get me and check the problem. he noticed that the fans on the cooling system were not working. one completely locked which caused some of the fans to break and the other just stopped working. i looked on line to see if there were any similar occurrences of this happening. i came upon chrysler customer service notification l08, which implies that this problem has happened on over 55,000 vehicles. i contacted my local dealership and was had them look into it. according to the notification it states that only the severe cooling systems on 2006-2008 dodge chargers are having this occur. my vehicle is a 2007 dodge charger 3.5 l v6 which is not covered under the customer service notification since it only carries the heavy duty cooling system. so my dealership will not cover the cost to fix the same problem occurring on like make and model vehicles. however, during operation my cooling locked and stopped working. i am unsure how many more vehicles have had this occur to them but upon researching it has and continues to occur. *tr

We own a 2007 dodge charger sxt and while driving down the road our brights will occasionally turn themselves on. when we use our turn signal and have the wipers on it will increase the speed of our wipers, then slow them back down after a few swipes. *tr

I was driving on the freeway going about 65 mph with cruse control when i felt a odd vibration, i noticed the car was off. while i was coasting on to the shoulder, i noticed that the steering and braking were heavy. i pulled to the shoulder, put the car in park and restarted the car. this car is a moving death trap and if not for the light traffic or the side shoulder there could have easily been a crash and or fatality. *tt

The transmission shifter interlock lever was recalled on 2005 - 2007 dodge and chrysler vehicles, however after contacting dodge directly i was told my vehicle was not covered because it was not built during the years of the recall. once the lever is broken, you're unable to put your car into gear. the same issue that was recalled for the other years of these vehicles has happened to my car. and from the research i've done online there are hundreds if not thousands of other complains with the same issue. i contacted 3 different dealerships and it's going to cost approximately $390 to have the plastic lever replaced with the metal lever that's being used now. i feel as though this is a known issue with dodge and chrysler and therefore should be covered by the manufacture. this could be very dangerous as the car will not go into gear if the lever breaks, and can cause a person to be stranded. if i needed to get away from someone in a life or death situation i would not have been able to leave in my car because of this defect. i believe dodge and chrysler should revisit this recall and extend to all cars it affect. my car is a 2007 dodge charger, however it was built in 2006 therefore it does not "qualify" for the recall. *tr

Within a year or so of first purchasing the car (2007) i noticed it would feel like someone hit me from behind as i got off the interstate and was waiting for a light. i have since learned this was the engine "bumping" to keep it from stalling. i would either give it gas or put it in neutral and it would be ok. within the last year the car has actually stalled on me at the lights. i noticed this mostly after driving on the interstate at 70-75 mph for my 20 min drive to work and as i slowing down to get off the exit it seems to "bump" and now "stall". i have had the car stall three times in a row on a single instance recently with the third time it finally caught and did not stall, but i feared it would not start at all. i have had an instance recently of the car stalling while at low speeds (10-20 mph) as i'm slowing down. all other times were at an actual stop. recently the car stalled and it took 2 times to get it to restart and when it restarted it would not immediately go into gear, even though the car was in "drive". my husband was driving for this time and although i am primary driver, he has experienced the "bumps" over the years. in this last instance the car had been on a back road and while still only driving about 20-30 mins the speed was never higher than 45-50 mph. *tr

On 09/23/2013 at about 7am i was driving to work about 20 miles upon arrival the vehicle started smoking from under the hood. i parked and inspected the vehicle and found some water leaking from the radiator, i let the engine cool for about 4 hours and at lunch went out and added water to the vehicle as i added the water it poured directly out. i further inspected the vehicle and found that all seven radiator fan blades had separated from the main housing that was intact and not loose or distorted and impelled themselves through the radiator. i researched this issue and found that dodge had a service bulletin csn-l08 issued in 2011 for the dodge magnum and other vehicles. when i contacted them they advised i was out of warranty and there was nothing they could do. i do not feel this is a warranty issue if it has happened in 2011 and still happening in 2013 and should be investigated further if someone is working on one of these vehicles and the fan blades come apart. this could cause bodily injury with the force it impelled them through the radiator. there should be a recall of this fan part #24040406 manufacture date 1/10/06 and a reimbursement program for those individual's who have had to replace these items. *tr

Alloy wheels ( 17 inch ) with chrome center cap ( ram emblem ) are experiencing pitting and corrosion around center hub. this has eaten away the clear coat on the alloy wheels. although this is not a safety concern at the moment, it reduces the vehicles value ( trade in ). chrysler engineers need to redesign this so that corrosion does not take place. same problem occurred to another owner's vehicle ( dodge intrepid 1993 ). chrysler needs to make it right by refinishing alloy wheels. *tr

Had vehicle six years and had to replace the front ( left and right) tension struts four times. major flaw in vehicle where tension struts fail after a few months and need to be replaced. loud clunking noise is heard every time vehicle encounters a bump or imperfection in the road. sounds like vehicle is falling apart. believe chrysler's engineers should redesign part and have it replaced on vehicles experiencing this problem. *tr

The vehicle will not come out of park. vehicle towed to dealership. tech diagnosed problem as needing to replace the transmission shifter interlock lever. labor, parts, taxes, and misc. charges totaled $498.18 were paid by customer. dealer stated there was no recall for part from chrysler. on charger forums found posts that chrysler had issued a k39 notification letter which could be filled out and sent to chrysler group recall center. customer submitted form. chrysler responded that vehicle was built one month before recall range so it would not be covered. customer does not agree with chrysler's recall range in that it is too limited and needs to be expanded. same part is failing, whether vehicle was built in recall range or a month earlier. it is still a dangerous problem in that the vehicle is inoperable and can leave the driver and family stranded in unfamiliar surroundings and late at night. chrysler should include vehicle in recall and pay for all parts and labor. *tr

I have not had my car for a year. my gears are locked on my car. which is a defeat and a safety issue. i have spoken with 3 people that have an dodge charger as well and all 3 people have had the same problem. this is obvious a defeat which should be a recall. i currently still make payments on my vehicle its not fair to me for this to happen and its not my fault. i have googled this issue/ i have seen the complaints on your website about the same issue i am having.. so many people are complaining about the same problem. this is in deed a defeat in the car. just for this reason alone i am considering letting chysler come pick the car up and keep it. i pay to much money out monthly to going through defeats on a car when i call about it then am told its no recall on it. its not fair. i am a paying customer and have not ever been late paying monthly payments. please consider this problem as a recall. *tr

I've recently had a problem with my shifter not wanting to move out of park. i contacted the dealership and was told that there was no recall listed for my vin number. i did research online and found that this is a common problem with the 2007 chargers like mine, and many people have been told that their vin doesn't fall under the limited recall. i was told by dodge's customer service that it was a vin-specific recall, and there was nothing they could do for me. i filed a formal complaint with dodge's customer service today.. i'm stuck with a vehicle that now requires me to press a hot pink lever in the console when the gear shift sticks, and no one at dodge seems to be bothered that this is happening to thousands of customers who didn't fall under the limited recall. there has been at least 261 complaints on the 2007 charger filed with national highway traffic safety administration. out of those 261 complaints, 143 were about power train issues. and of those 143 power train complaints, 121 were about the transmission gear shifter interlock lever. this is only on the nhtsa website. there are many, many more on various sites on the web. thank you. *tr

I was on i-495 leaving long island ny , driving around 50-55 mph when my 07 dodge charger 2.7 liter turned off on the extremely busy freeway. im usually in the fastlane , but this particular day i was traveling in the far right lane. so no damage was done. there are no warning indicators or warnings of this problem that occurs , before or after. there has also been numerous times that the vehicle has turned off while attempting to leave on a green light. that has almost caused me many rear end accidents. i have taken my car to many mechanics including the dodge dealership and no one could seem to find the problem. there are many others on the dodge charger forum with the same problem , and feel the same dangers that could be caused if this problem is not fixed or at least identified. if all dodge chargers have this problem , it could cause many defect related accidents. there is no check engine warning and the car runs fine until it unexpectedly shuts off. i have spent over $800 for test and other wishful repairs with still no answer to fix the problem. check the dodge charger forum. i didn't bother to sign up because there was no solution. *tr

This is regarding a 2007 dodge charger srt-8. the vehicle was functioning normally when i was suddenly unable to accelerate in stop and go traffic. the traction control and electronic throttle control (etc) warning lights illuminated and the vehicle began "sputtering" as i tried to accelerate. i exited at the next available off-ramp and came to a stop at which point the engine shut off and i was unable to start it again. i had it towed to the nearest chrysler/dodge dealership/service center and after about a week i was informed that the #2 cylinder had 0 psi compression. they said they had to open the engine to get further information as to why it had no compression. after opening the engine, they found that the valve seat for the #2 cylinder was warn and needs to be replaced. given that this vehicle only has 70k miles on it, i believe this failure is premature. there were absolutely no signs of degradation in vehicle performance leading up to this incident. i use this vehicle to commute to work about 35 miles each way, everyday. i take very good care of the vehicle and service it regularly if not earlier than the recommended mileage/time. *tr

Vehicle has stalled out several times since my purchase. vehicle was bought in 2009 with approximately 13500 miles on it. it stalled the first time about a month later. since then it has stalled approximately ten times. each time it occurs when slowing for a stop, or while actually stopped. the engine will shutter like it is being choked. it will then rev slightly and then cut off. this has occurred in different weather conditions and temperatures. contact with local dealer has not produced any answers. they say the problem has to be replicated however it does not occur with any certain frequency. several other related complaints can be found on the internet with no solution. *tr

About 40k miles into owning the car i was driving on the highway and my car stalled out. once i pulled over i was able to restart the car but with a check engine light now appearing. the car made it the rest of my destination but has not been the same since. that was 5 years ago. the check engine light comes on and off randomly. there appears to be little power left when trying to accelerate. when stepping on the gas the car responds but will idle down and feel close to stalling out even when trying to accelerate. i took to dodge and they replaced a part that cost me $800 to fix (intake manifold tuning valve). of course this did not fix the issue. the check engine light was of for about a month before it came on again. they did not want to help me out. i was told it could be another $1200 in repairs. i did not want to spend this much money as i do not have confidence that they have a resolution. the car has never performed any better. i have put less than 3k miles/year on the car for the previous two years. i have no confidence that my car would have lasted this long if my commute was longer or stop and go traffic was involved. i have to take my wife's much older car when i need to make longer commutes. i am very unsatisfied. *tr

My 2007 dodge charger was rendered inoperable when the engine cooling fan blades separated unexpectedly, causing severe damage to the radiator. this incident ultimately resulted in engine failure. when this incident was reported to the chrysler group, the case manager was informed of a recall that addressed this same issue. please refer to customer satisfaction notification l08 engine cooling fans. this notification cautions owners that the electrically powered radiator cooling fans on about 52,000 of the referenced vehicles (include 2007 dodge charger) may separate during fan operation and cause damage to the radiator. this exact failure occurred to my vehicle costing me in excess of $2000 but the chrysler group refused to offer assistance due to the fact that my vin fell outside of the range to the vins included in the recall and that my vehicle was out of warranty. i request that a the existing recall be expanded to all of the vehicles types listed within the 2006-2008 time frame instead of limiting to the 52,000 estimated in the notification. *tr updated 01/24/13

Transmission shifter interlock lever problem: i read there was a "silent" recall for this problem only for cars built between june and september of 2007. my car was built shortly before this period. my question is: why isn't there a recall for all vehicles having this problem? a dealership quoted me over $400 to replace a single pink plastic part with a small, frail hook (which is what broke off) that attaches to a small spring. i believe this is a defective part and a design flaw that warrants a comprehensive recall. i cannot explain to you how much this has upset me and would really like the nhtsa to take the appropriate action and issue a recall for all cars affected. thank you. *tr

I was leaving work, and entering i-285 off exit ramp, i saw a vehicle that was stopped ahead of me approx. a quarter of a mile up ahead of me, so i began to apply brakes to prepare to stop ahead...and i realized that my brake pedal would not move or give in to even apply pressure to brake. i was going approx. 45 to 50mph...and i crashed and rear ended a car full force without any brakes at all. both airbags deployed...it was awful and the scariest thing that i have ever experienced. it resulted in a 4 car accident. i suffered a broken ankle in two places, torn foot ligaments, and burns from airbags. i am angry, because i found out about several recalls that are out with my cat that i was unaware of. i have had my car serviced with dodge on three different occassions prior to this happening within the past 6/7 months. something will be done about this...i could have died!!!!! *tr

2007 dodge charger was stuck in park. no other problems. found out that chrysler has a defective part in these cars called the transmission shifter interlock lever recalled on some models (notification code k39) . however, the other dodge chargers are not covered under the recall even though it has the same defective part. instead, they want to charge the consumer to fix the problem although it is well known that it is a manufacturing problem. (its a cheap plastic pink release button that goes out at any given time causing the car to be stuck in park) this is a widespread, well known, highly documented defected part that the recall only covered on few models not all models. this is a cheap and unethical move on chrysler-dodge's part to have the consumer bear the cost when it is not the consumer's problem. this needs to be recalled across the board on anyand all vehicles equipped with this cheap piece of plastic. instead since my particular 2007 dodge charger is not included in the recall, i am left to pay roughly $500.00 to repair it. really disheartening and pathetic when customers want to buy american but get this as quality! *tr

My vehicles engine light was on while i was taking it to get inspected. aaa ran a test to find out as to why the engine light was on. the diagnostics should a problem with the plenum, air intake valve and the car needed a reflash or update in the cars computer. i took the vehicle down to a dodge dealership and found out that the plenum is a common fail part and is a dealer only part and cost 969.00 to replace. after having the reflash done on my vehicle and finding out about the plenum i returned to aaa to find out if they could fix the problem cheaper. they then checked the recall list to see if their were any recalls. the recalls for my vehicle were for the cars computer system , the interlock mechanism for the clutch, and the radiator fan. after finding out about the reflash being on recall i called the dealership in an attempt to get my money back and was told recalls are vin specific, even though distributed by regular mechanics. after fixing the engine light problem and getting my car inspected, 3 days later the interlock mechanism broke and would not allow me to move the clutch to put car in gear. i took it to the dealership again and paid for a diagnostics and was told the problems i am having are all listed in the recalls but they can not fix due to recalls being vin specific. i paid 478.00 for interlock to be fixed. i have two more items on my vehicle listed for recall and i now keep getting a lightning bolt warning sign on my dash when my vehicle is idle. i have paid for 2 out of 4 recalls that should have been taken care of by the dealership but were nt due to them being vin specific even though everything matches up what's wrong with my vehicle and what is being recalled. *tr

Approaching traffic light transitioning from yellow to red, car is coasting at 20mph, proceeded to stop foot on the brake the brake was solid as the concrete pavement, the steering wheel could not move. the car did not stop proceeded forward hitting the car in front which was a fender bender, however total loss of a purchased brand new dodge charger which had gone to the service center every week after purchasing for a reset of the computer system jumping skipping stopping, however un - final answers it was always communicated the car was fine and good to go. as a result of the accident the ruling was not against me as a driver, however, an attorney who specialized in manufactured defects was a communication after several attorneys listened to the case but did not take on the representation. also as a result now 3 years later, $35,000 back surgery, continued medical bills, perm disable permit due to inability to function normally before accident excruciating pain day in and out. no help no car personal insurance paid everything / gap when the attorney took case could not find the totaled car? ....there has to be something that can be done about that. one attorney stated the company is responsible, however stated it is a case that would be major. is one's debt and personal liability as a citizen not important enough to receive help towards this matter? i am afraid i will live in and suffer with this pain in debt til death! this is a case that falls in the gray area in the land of o well--- why shouldn't the dealership be responsible? why did the judge throw it out of court, to be against me? why cant i receive medical and loss of time an wages from an immediate emergency surgery? please help me i emailed the attorney general's office and was informed to connect with this line of communication. please help...!!!! i have to work or i will be homeless now what? *tr

I was making a left turn into an intersection when i could not excellerate to clear the intersection because i lost power going to my transmission which almost caused me to get hit by another car approaching the intersection...totally lost power to the transmission...could not go forward or backwards was wondering if there is any sort of recall for this, i felt like i could have been killed, the car gave me no warning what so ever, no warning lights ever came on indicating there was a problem...my husband followed me to the dealer later on in the day and i was told it was some sort of valve body problem and it would cost $680.00 to fix it...never been so scared in my life not sure if i chose the right components or not but it felt like the tranny to me...i got three or four blocks from the dealer and then my service engine soon light came on...if this is not something that's on a recall then some one can be killed...i think god was just with me...the dealer also stated alot of them were coming back for some sort of vacum hose problem, well if that many is coming back why they have not had a recall not unless its not being reported...maybe i can help save the next person from a tragedy and people need to be aware. *tt

There was no sign that there was any problems with my car. i got in the vehicle, started the ignition, and was not able to shift the gear from park to reverse. i had a local towing company come and pick up the car, and they took it to a local mechanic. the tower said there's been recalls on the column shifter for the dodge chargers. after the mechanic looked at the car, he said that yes it was the column shifter and it would need to be replaced. it will cost $380.35 to have it all replaced. since i didn't do anything to damage the car, and there's a recall on the particular item that is being replaced i don't see why i shouldn't be able to have some form of reimbursement sent to me. *tr

Vehicle brought home and parked on 7/17 as normal. 7/18 around 4pm attempted to start vehicle and go to local grocery store. vehicle would not come out of park. called chrysler at 1-800-853-1403, was referred to local dealership at 1-800-992-1997. was told to remove the chrome bezel around top of console and remove the package tray on the side and push the square pink tab device inward to release the shift mechanism. did not work. then was told of a service campaign on similar vehicles but when i gave them the vin i was informed mine was not included. started using google to search for similar incidents and found them to be numerous. seems we have a factory defect here that is known and for all intents and purposes is a time bomb waiting to nap people at its first opportunity and leave them stranded. my car has 92,000 miles on it and as far as i can tell i am lucky to have made it that far. i will be on the phone with chrysler today.. 7/19, to give them an earful of my dis satisfaction with this whole scene. *kb

Front outer tie rod ends of 2007 dodge charger 3.5 liter are of a non greasable type. the grease which is utilized at time of installation breaks down prematurely (at around 30,000 miles) and turns to a gritty clay in the ball joint. this premature breakdown of lubrication results in the wearing out and failure of the tie rod end which will result in the loss of control of said vehicle. these are my findings as i did a failure mode evaluation and upgraded the oem component to a greaseable high performance tie rod end. *tr

Engine sputters while idle. i change the oil every 2500-3000 miles, along with engine air filter and spark plug change at 36,000. while idle, once in a while the engine will sputter. took it to the dealership and they could not duplicate (cnd) the problem, therefore they could not fix the problem, however they asked if i needed an oil change. i loved the rt when i first purchased it. now! i would not recommend anyone to purchase it. engine sputters, side window is scratched due to mechanism, rotor are warped, and of course the shifter stuck in park, and the abs light is now. all of which chrysler will not acknowledge for my vin, but have a recall on others. how many people need to file a complaint? let us continue to submit our complaints and hopefully no one will be injured. and maybe chrysler will pay for their problems. starting to hate my hot red rt! *tr

I own a 2007 dodge charger. biggest piece of junk ever in my drive way. i was excited when the challenger came out, my daughter would get the charger and momma would get the new challenger. i can say, that wont be happening. in the three years i've had this car, i have had to spend several hundred dollars to have the transmission fixed from leaking fluid. a part i was told that was manufactured incorrectly, but no recall, i had to purchase the fix kit myself. within 6 months from this happening, the instrument cluster went out. loosing all electronics in the car. again, no recall another $600+ out of my pocket. now just this week the "pink thinky" has messed up. this left me stranded in any empty parking lot at work on a friday afternoon and my husband an hour away. thank goodness the mechanic shop i go to could tell me how to override and get me home. of course i called the dodge dealership first, but low and behold the service department could not help me. the answer, "i can send a tow truck. i do know there is an override but i'm not sure how it works." really! three things right there a recall should be issued on! this car should not have the problems it does without someone taking responsibility for correcting it. mitsibishi has dodge beat by along shot! 00 galant, was traded in for the charger with 260k miles on it, never spent 1 dime that was not for routine maintenance, and it still ran, drove and handled like it did the day i bought it. but i just had to have the new dodge charger, big mistake on my part! there will never be another dodge anything in my driveway. i know dodge does not care, i'm just one out of millions but they should! dodge can go bankrupt totally, and never manufacture another thing and my work would keep right on revolving! *tr

Upon arriving for my scheduled oil change and tire exchange from snows to summer, i was informed that my tie rod ends on both front wheels needed to be replaced as they were not safe to drive on. so i instructed them to go ahead and fix it as i needed to be able to drive the vehicle and safety is the most important issue when you transport your child on a regular basis (as well as myself). i didn't realize at that time this was something that is covered under warranty or i would have gone to a daimlerchrysler/dodge dealer to get it fixed. it is unacceptable for a car with 33,000 miles to need two new tie rods. this was an emergency repair as i had no previous indication that there was a problem at all. leaving without getting the vehicle repaired was not an option as i am not willing to put mine or my daughter¿s safety in jeopardy as she was with me at the time of the appointment. i am aware of the damage to the car that can be caused when a tie rod (or both) fails and didn't think twice about going ahead with the repairs. upon speaking with a representative after the fact to get a reimbursement (following the instructions in the back of the owners manual regarding emergency repairs not done at a dealer), daimlerchrysler stated they would only replace the parts. this is not good enough as i did not have any other option. i do not feel i should have to pay for something, which would have otherwise been fully covered under the warranty by going to a daimlerchrysler dealer, especially being a safety issue. had the tie rods indeed broken while driving the vehicle, not only would it have incurred enormous amounts of damage it would have been extremely unsafe for myself and my 6 year old daughter. research over the internet has since indicated this is a chronic problem with daimlerchrysler vehicles and this is not a repair i should have to pay for. *tr

While attempting to remove the wheels from my vehicle, i discovered that the factory tire tool would not fit on the stock lug nuts. the lug nuts are a two piece design, a steel nut with a sheet metal jacket covering it. the jacket has become warped and the tire tool will not fit. i contacted the local dealership and spoke with a mechanic. he stated it is a common problem. i then contacted the manufacturer. i was told that i had to take the vehicle in to the dealership and have it serviced before i filed a complaint. i realize this may not seem like a safety issue, i would not want my spouse or myself to be stranded along a highway or remote road because i was unable to change a flat tire due to a poor lug nut design. *tr

I had just left my residence to travel to work in my 2007 dodge charger, 2.7l v6, i had made it 6 miles away from my house when my engine blew. the temp gage never showed there was any kind of overheating problem. the check oil light came on for a few seconds and turned off. a few minutes later it came on again and puff of white smoke came out from under the hood and the motor seized. from the research i have done on the internet i have found that the 2.7 liter dodge/chrysler motor has had a lot of problems with oil sludge issues that would cause the engine to seize. so far chrysler has not taken any responsibility for this major problem with the 2.7l engine. the bottom end of the motor has to be rebuilt or replaced to correct this problem. at this point the warranty company is blaming me for the mechanical failure of the oil filter seal on the engine. *tr

Pebbles or debris has entered the lower cooling valance on my 2007 dodge charger is to wide, which allows any and all debris to damage the air conditioner condenser. which dodge does not cover or recognize as a design flaw. the a/c condenser is exposed to any and all objects coming through that particular area. the 3 lbs of freon released to the atmosphere, which when the car is in motion the freon will go through engine compartment and eventually end up in the passenger area. freon is a oxygen displacement type gas which can cause sickness, vomiting,hypoxio and eventually suffocation. this is a possible safety hazard. freon 134a also expels a toxic gas if exposed to temps above 452f which catalytic converters reach temps above 500f. *tr

I purchased my 2007 dodge charger se on feb 17 2009. i had multiple problems when i bought the vehicle including the airbag light being on which they fixed by recalibrating the unit. the left washer fluid module had to be replaced and the passenger headlight had condensation that was poorly repaired by placing silcone around my headlight. the shop also said that they had to recalibrate the transmission because it was slipping and was causing my speedometer to drop to 0 but the rpm would never move and the car would not lose power. on march 7 i drove 90 miles away from home when i exited my vehicle and got about 10 feet away the car exploded in flames. the car drove beautifully the entire trip never hesitated and never overheated, never indicated any kind of problem!!!! the entire front of my car to the dash was completely melted within 5 minutes of the car exploding. luckily i did not have my children with me and i was not in home as i park my new vehicle in the garage, i would have lost everything i own. the fire department had to bust out the rear window to get my purse because the only key hole is in the front door and the fob would not work to unlock the car. this is a huge safety hazard!!! if my 2 small children had been in the car i would have not been able to get them out in time because of how fast the car exploded!!! the fire department determined that it was the electrical system under the hood. the dealership i bought the vehicle from 2 weeks ago told me to go ¿!@#$%myself and deal with my insurance company that it has nothing to do with them. please if you have this car or are considering buying this car please please don't do it!!!! *tr

I was using the scissor jack on my 2007 dodge charger to place my car on jack stands in order to change the oil. as i was removing the jack stands, the scissor jack failed while the car was raised far enough to remove the jack stand. had i not use jack stands i certainly would have been crushed. i know that many folks do no employ jack stands while working on their cars and this equipment defect certainly has the potential to kill somebody.*tr

I own a 2007 dodge charger se i bought brand new 8/7/2007 at 5,000 miles i noticed a squealing noise when i applied the brakes. i immediately went to the dealership i was told that they could not hear any noise from the brakes and that maybe it was dirt getting in the brakes. dealership said they cleaned the brakes and i should have no problems. the same day i still notice the same squealing noise when i applied the brakes. i took my car in for an oil change at 6,000 miles and also advised the dealership of the brake problem again. service person said he would test drive to see if he could hear the noise and again he could not hear the noise. i went in for my 12,000 miles oil change dealership did an inspection of the car found nothing wrong with my brakes and still did not hear the noise. now at 15,500 miles while driving at 10 mph i tried to make a left turn and discovered the wheel locked up and i could not move the wheel at all at first i thought the car had stalled but there was no lights came on the dashboard to indicate that so i stopped my car and put in park and turned it off and restarted it and the when released and i was able to turn the wheel again. well 5 days later the same thing happened to me again this time i was driving 45 mph and was trying to make a right turn and as i was slowing down and attempting to make a right turn once again the wheel is locked up. i took the car to the dealership yesterday and i was advised after leaving my car there from 8am until 3:30 pm i was advised by the service person that they could not find the problem and i am terrified to drive this car. what happens if i am on the highway going 65 mph and need to turn suddenly and the wheel locks up i could be killed or hurt or hurt someone else on the road my car is still at the dealership for the service manager to see if he can see if the problem with the wheel will occur while he is driving. *tr

Parked car in driveway, set hand brake and it failed. was told by dealership and dodge customer service that it is a "periodic adjustment" that must be made to the hand brake. we were not informed of the need for a "periodic adjustment" at time of purchase, and it is not post anywhere in the *tr. adjustment cost out of our pocket. car one year old.

This is the 3rd time this has happen and i have 12,000 miles on my 07 dodge charger. i love my car but i am terrified that something bad may happen to me while driving it because when driving 60 mph on the highway my speedometer drops to "zero" then back to normal speed.... the car has only jerked 1x when this has happened and other times there is no change. the first time the dealership found there was a faulty computer and had to replace it. i told them on that first visit that there was very loud knocking on the left side of the front of the car also at this time. the second time they tried updating the soft wear and now they are working on it yet again!!!! i am so afraid of this thing giving out on me on the busy highway. *tr

Driver states while merging on to highway into traffic and hitting a slippery spot the (tcs) traction control system engaged as normal (throttle was cut back to idle). however, once traction was regained the tcs failed to disengage. the vehicle had to be pulled to side of roadway and shut off. once restarted the vehicle returned to normal operation. this happened twice to date. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, however the dealer reported that the problem could not be duplicated. *tr

In july 2007 i purchased a 07 dodge charger. it has been in the shop 20+ times in the last 6 months. the spedometer fluctuates from 60 to 40 mph when in cruise control and feels like it is going to stall when this happens. the vehicle has odd little shakes and shimmys. the check engine light wont stay off for more then 5 days. the remote entry wont work all the time even if i'm standing right next to the vehicle. there has been a new fuel extractor put into this vehicle. *tr

Failure of the antilock brakes and power steering resulting in an accident where another vehicle got hit from behind. the gauge cluster died upon impact. this was a rental car from enterprise and the customer before had just turned in the vehicle because she was having problems with the brakes and steering. enterprise refused to document the incident as per that customer and then proceeded to give the vehicle to my son five minutes later. this vehicle has been recalled for abs control module software issues that may cause rear brakes to lock up. chrysler says that not this vin number. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 dodge charger. on november 1, 2006, the vehicle was serviced for a basic oil change and filter at 3,600 miles. on january 2, 2007, the vehicle was taken to the dealer for basic maintenance, in which the contact requested a tire rotation because the tires were wearing very quickly. he was informed that the tires were rotated, balanced, and that the oil was changed. two months later, the contact noticed that the tires continued to wear very quickly and the brakes were not stopping the vehicle properly. he went to a local tire store and was informed that the tires were placed on the vehicle incorrectly and that two different sized tires should have been installed. the contact returned to the dealer and they were supposed to provide new tires and brakes. they provided the tires and new front brakes, but no rear brakes. the dealer also failed to repair a rattling noise in the fan under the hood; however, they did not. currently, the brakes lock sometimes and the fan still makes a noise as if leaves and sticks are under the hood. the contact has a 100,000 mile warranty, but was advised to take his vehicle to another dealer. the powertrain was unknown. the current mileage was 32,000 and failure mileage was 10,044. updated 01-16-08. *kb updated *jb

Rear brakes on 2007 dodge charger (17144 mile, mainly hwy) grooved consistently from top to bottom. dealer checked and the only explanation they would give me was that i live on a gravel road and that rocks are causing this. apparently if you live or are going to drive on a gravel road you can't own a charger. both the dealer and chrysler customer service turned this down as a warranty item. dealer stated rotors needed to be turned but without giving me a solution as to preventing this problem in the future. the grooves in the rotor are about 1/8 of an inch. this would take about 40 rocks perfectly lined up on each of the rear brakes. impossible. i am be given the run around and would appreciate any assistance possible. *jb

Shimmy at 73-80 mph visable steering wheel shakes and shimmys at 73mph car was at dealer for problem and the dealer rebalanced the wheels. no effect problem still exists. car was returned to another dealer and wheels were rotated. no effect problem still exists. several other owners have same problems with srt/8 models. remidies have been replacing tie rod ends, wheel bearings, road force balance of wheels and replacement of steering rack. there needs to be a tsb for this problem.

I purchased a 2006 dodge charger daytona over three months ago. i took the vehicle back to the dealer for its first oil change. since the day i purchased it with 70 miles on it, the brakes have squealed badly. i told the dealer about it and they were going to check it out. they called me to say that they could not hear any noise, but if there was a squeal it is typical on all charger daytona's. it is something i just have to live with. when i picked up the car i drove it 100 feet and applied the brakes. a loud squeal came from the brakes, but they still refuse to do anything about it. why is this? why don't they do anything about it? *jb

2007 dodge charger r/t road & track package(hd brakes) my vehicle has 3500 miles from when i purchased it new and has excessive brake noise and possible front brake damage due to grooving/warping of the rotors. i have complained to the local dealer in my area as to the problem and a possible permanent fix with tsb 05-001-07. the dealer has stated i've been declined for this tsb and all that can be done under warranty is a temporary fix of replacing the brake pads with the same likeness and re-cut the rotors. this should not even be an option for a brand new vehicle with only 3500 carefull miles. the manufactuer is fully aware of this problem in their braking systems and has done nothing to correct this, that i am aware of. as i stated, tsb 05-001-07 was denied for my vehicle due to a "sales code" that does not match. my vehicle has this heavy duty brake system stated in the tsb, but do to "liability" will not be done. i have contacted several vehicle owners with the same problems i have, and all are just as frustrated as i am to have a new vehicle with brake problems. the dealer then stated to file a complaint with the manufacturer and hope something "comes out" before the 12,000 mile warranty is up. thank you!

I bought my charger on 11/03/06 with 13 miles on it. at 900 miles the engine check light came on. i took it to the dealer, they said an o2 sensor was bad, they replaced it. then at 980 miles the engine light came on again. it was the same sensor, and the car was in the shop for 3 days. the dealer said everything was good to go. then on december 27th the light came on again. i took it to the dealer and now they say it needs software for the computer for the engine. currently i am waiting for them to call me when the part comes in. they said it is o.k to drive til then.......the dealer has been very nice about this ,they have been doing a very good job. i just feel a brand new car shouldn't be doing this and i'm looking into the lemon law.

My rear brakes lock up while i driving and abs light comes on. it caused me to run off the road and it started a fire.

While traveling at 40+ mph i attempted to accelerate by pressing the accelerator pedal all the way, the dodge charger rt(5.7l v8) did not react and kept accelerating at the normal rate before i pressed the accelerator. since it was not reacting to my input, i took my foot completely off the accelerator but the vehicle kept accelerating at a constant rate. then after two seconds, the vehicle accelerated at full throttle, in automatic, downshifted, and continued to speed up at full throttle. brakes were pressed but seemed to have zero effect on the vehicle's uncontrolled acceleration. finally i decided to shift into neutral and the engine resumed normal operation. i then shifted into drive again from neutral, and operation of the vehicle resumed to normal. first time this has happened and is extremely unsafe, luckily, no car was in front of me and i had time to control the car before i came to the upcoming red light/intersection. *tr

The front passenger seat belt was locked into the buckle and would not release then locking clip. passenger was trapped in the vehicle because of the seat belt. could not take it directly to dealership to have them help release it. it was after hours and could not wait until the next morning when they open. i had to cut the belt to release the passenger. luckily i am a police officer and had a seat belt cutter. the vehicle is a 2007 dodge charger police package. if there had been an accident with a fire, the passenger would have been trapped a died. took the vehicle to the dealership the next morning. they stated there was nothing they could do because there is no warranty for seat belts and it would cost me $456.00 to have it fixed. *tr
