2006 CHRYSLER 300

In the summer of 2016, I took my car in for an oil change, and they broke the OEM plastic dipstick top off. And they said they could not work on the car after that, never changed the oil, and refused to try to remove the dipstick. So I had to change the oil myself. I put in 6 quarts as stated by the manufacturer. And one day I was driving home and I heard a bang, the sound of metal shavings hitting the ground, I lost half of my pressure, and was knocking really loud towards the bottom of the engine. It\'s been 2 years, and with a family of 6 I have not been able to purchase new engine for it, or get any help from Chrysler. I\'ve been making the $250 a month payment, every month without missing a payment, all well the car sits in my driveway. And recently I learned that I owe $4,400 left on the car loan, and Kelley Blue Book States my car when running, is only worth 4K. So for two years I\'ve been stuck making a payment on a car I haven\'t drove, and now I owe more than the car\'s value still. If anybody knows of any kind of help that they can send me in the direction of, I would greatly appreciate it thank you.

Whenever my key is placed in the \"ON\" position, without fully starting the vehicle, it starts stalling when driving at low speeds or stops (turning, stop signs, stop lights). I have had an accident due to this problem. I must drive with both feet until the situation returns to normal in approximately one week. I\'m not sure what causes this problem, but if anyone else have any ideas, please help!!

When driving at low speeds, or when stopped and then starting to go, the car will sometimes stall out and often in dangerous conditions. For example, once I was stopped at a light waiting to turn left. When there was a break in traffic I pushed the gas and got halfway out into the oncoming lane when the car cut off without warning. There was oncoming traffic further down the road and I was almost hit by that vehicle; luckily, the lane next to them was clear and they were able to swerve around me. At this point I have taken the car to the Chrysler dealership 3 times and to a few of other mechanics. So far none of them have been able to locate the problem as the car (usually) cranks back up with the check engine lights and other codes already cleared. This issue has had a deeply negative effect on my life as I’m scared to even drive to the grocery store in this car, but I am still having to pay it off.

The car cuts off while driving, the car would not start numerous times, air bag light is on. The car has cut off on the expressway while I had my 2 year old with me. I pay a car note every month but can’t drive my car and will not drive my car it’s to dangerous. Please help with a recall. I saw a special report on abc news channel 2 concerning the same problems with Chrysler dodge vehicles.

My car randomly shut off while driving on the freeway I have had this happen 3 times I don’t drive the car anymore as it’s unsafe and been quoted a total of 2,000 dollars to try and fix the problem that the mechanics really don’t know what’s going on the car loses all power and just shuts off almost was rear ended on the freeway due to this car just shutting off

See failures

While checking my oil tip of oil stick(made out of plastic) broke off. Took to mechanic, he informed me he may have to drop oil pan to remove because bolts are frozen that will cost $369.00. Lucky for me he found another way to remove broken part that was left in the dipstick tube I paid $126.10 for a $15.00 part to be replaced. If Chrysler would have made the dipstick all out of metal instead of plastic it would not have broke. I feel Chrysler made it a poor design to make more money off consumers in repair. I would like to be reimbursed in full.

Oil sludge in engine.

Car stalled twice on November 2014 and January 25, 2015. Car stalled on a red light after re-fueling.

Car won’t pull up steep roads without feeling like its going to die, won’t slow down without feeling like its going to die, heats up while going down the road, when driving down the interstate and hit a bump or going over a bridge hear a grinding noise, when car is started makes bad noise.

The gear shift would not work. When I notified Chrysler about it they told me several cars had been recalled because of this, however mine wasn’t listed as one of them. But they gave me a case manager anyway, who ended up telling me I would have to pay for the towing, diagnosis and up to 60% of repairs before they offered any assistance, which would equal around $300-400. I decided to just pay for the repairs myself. I called the next day to speak with someone in the higher ups who could over turn the decision and give me the justice I deserved and they had closed my case.

Every time i fill my car with gas i get a gas smell inside my car and garage for the next few day. i call about a recall for my car and was told that my car was too old to be serviced at the dealership where i bought it.

The engine just stall out with no warning while driving, it mostly do it after filling the gas tank to the half full mark, once it get close to the red mark , the engine run normal. and when its at a complete stop the engine also stall out.

Takata recall - i currently have two recalls on my car. one is for the driver side air bag and the other for the passenger side. i am on a waiting list at the dealership for one of the parts but the other part has not become available yet. the dealership was not able to give me an eta on the part that is supposedly available - only that i have been put on a very long waiting list. i wouldn't be as worried about it if it weren't as dangerous a recall. i have children and only one vehicle. am i supposed to just drive the car and hope for no accidents until they get the parts they need?

Module transmission was installed in my car which have only 51661 miles this is an on going problem in these cars causing them not to shift and i could only go 20mph in heavy traffic creating a safety hazard. i was charged $1919.58 for repairs. my transmission was serviced in oct.2016 . i feel that this problem should be on the recall before someone lose there life. the problem comes with no warning. the car was in motion. on a city street.

Takata recall. i purchase a 2006 chrysler 300 c from uxuray auto in georgia. not knowing that there was a recall on said vehicle. on june 6th 2016 on my way to bury my mother in sc. the air bags exploded in the car as was approching a red light in barnwell sc. blinding me, causing me to side swipe the car stop at the red light in front of me. i reported the incident to chrysler . chrysler after investigation agree to repair my car with a fifty dollor a day rental. i was taken to the hospital in augusta ga, by amblunace. a mr. aubin attorny from chrysler later states that the car would not be repair until the bodily injury claim was settled. this happen on june 7 2016, to this date chrysler have not repair our car. in order to get my car repaired i had to sign a harmless release for chrysler. under duress i signed the release. one whole year chrysler have not repaired this car . i requested that they buy the car back/ and pay me for lost of use of our vehcile,. he said in order to get the car repaired/ i must sign a release of all harms. no attorney would take this case, they say it is not worth that much for them. 1 whole year and chrysler has our car, we were force into buying another car yet still paying for the chrysler. is this the law? can chrysler get away with this? forcing us to do what we don;t want to do? chrysler has offered me 8.000 to sign the harmless release and then they will give me my car back after one year of suffering, is this right? help me please, we have no one else to turn to for help. no one.

Came home from work parked my car. ten fifteen min later i tried to go to the store, car started & died would not restart. half an hour later i got it started, but it make a crunching noise & ran with a miss fire. i limped it to my mechanic, the car was blowing oil smoke out the tailpipes like i had overfilled it. my mechanic found that the valve seat on # 6 cylinder had dropped ruining both plug, cylinder head & piston. after he told me what had happened i started researching this, looks like any 5.7 hemi & other motors made before 2009 can be effected. i've tried talking to chrysler about this issue & when the hear my car was not @ a dealer i was stonewalled.

Takata recall i got into a car accident 9/2/16. i rear ended a car. my airbags deployed but ruptured instantly this caused me to hit my head on the steering wheel causing lots of neck and back pain and i also chipped my front tooth. my daughter was grazed by a small fragment not causing too much harm. it was horrible. we also inhaled the powder substance that was in the airbags since then i have a dry cough especially at night and a lot of heartburn.

This is the second time i've had to pay to replace the abs hub (complete axle) due to rust/rotting. when the abs ring rust or rots, the abs module becomes confused and activates intermittently. i was driving the vehicle and the brakes locked intermittently causing a very dangerous situation. i stopped thinking that it would reset something but it happened again. i had to take it to a repair shop once again and now i've had to pay over $1,000 for the rear axles and now $1,000 for the front. axles have to be replaced each time. these rings should not simply rot and cause a dangerous situation!

Sometimes when stating from a stop, like a stop light or entering on a road, the transmission will make a loud sound in the rear and lock in in one gear. i need to pull of the road and restart the vehicle and start out again. it will go into reverse and park but will not shift properly until i do this. sometimes i need to restart it more than once to get it to shift, not very good when it does this in traffic. also the engine light comes on but so far has reset itself after a few cycles

My car shuts off every time i fill my gas tank. i crank it, put it in drive. as i'm driving, my car completely shuts off. this has happened numerous times in traffic. at rush hours.

Every time you fill the vehicle with gas, the car dies shortly after fueling with out any kind of warning. after you drive a little ways and burn some of the fuel from the tank, the car runs fine. the driver has no warning and the car has trouble starting after it dies. i was almost in a serious accident because i pulled out of the gas station after filling with fuel. i was in heavy traffic and the car died. the car is quite and i didn't realized the car died. i just kept pressing on the gas peddle until i observed the rpm gauge was on zero. i had no warning. i bought this vehicle used with low mileage. i thought is was a isolated incident, but sadly was wrong. it happens every time you fill it up with gas and may die once or several times. there are no pre-warnings for the vehicle stalling. all acceleration, powers steering, and power brakes were gone with out warning. a quick search on the internet reviled this is a defect in the gas tank design and chrysler has not stepped up to fix this. chrysler said the only fix is a new fuel tank and they are are aware of the issue. chrysler also change the design of the fuel tank in later models because of the defect please hold the maker accountable for dangerous and life threatening defect.

Vehicle intermittently stalls when slowing down to stop or slowing down to turn a corner. all power shuts down and check fuel light comes on. check engine light does not come on. has only happened with a partial tank of gas-never with a full tank - remaining mileage has been between 75 and 123 miles left. has only happened at slow speed. dealer has worked on it 4 times each time closing ticket as fixed except for the last time . have talked to service director about problem with no results. vehicle has 123000 miles.

When the vehicle is in park it will not shift out of park into any other gear. there is a recall to fix this on my year and model car but i am being told my particular vin # is not on the list. the recall is called " customer satisfaction notification k39". i don't understand why my car is not included when the same thing is happening in this recalll. this customer is not satisfied!

After filling up with gas, the car sometimes stalls at slow speeds or low rpm until a gallon or so of gas is used up, the cause is supposed to be the fuel vapor recovery system malfunctioning.

My car shuts off while driving. i wait for a minute or so and it turns back on after restart it.. initially it was only doing this as i was coming off the freeway. then again a few minutes later at the stop light. it progressed to turning off as i was driving at 65 miles on the freeway. this almost caused an accident. luckily i was on the right lane and there were no cars directly behind me. otherwise i would have been rear ended at the least. this is very dangerous and could have resulted in an accident. it also happened on the street while driving 30 mph. the steering wheel locks up and the car turns off. in a stretch of five miles, it happened about 10 times. i took the car to the dealer and they cannot figure out what is wrong with it. it has been there since april 3 and the dealer still cannot figure out what is wrong with it. they thought it was the battery, then the spark plugs. they still have it and do not know what is wrong with it.

I was driving down the road and the car just shut off all at once. i immediately put emergency flashers on and crank it up only for it to do the same thing 3 or 4 more times before it starts to drive normal as if nothing ever happened. this happens while i am driving down the street, turning or whenever it feel like cutting off.

The transmission gear shift lever interlock return spring hook on about 28,800 of the above vehicle broke. a broken interlock return spring hook will result in the inability to move the gear shift lever out of the “park” position. there is a recall for customer satisfaction notification k39 transmission shifter interlock lever for the following vehicle which is the same as mine but the "lx": 2005 - 2007 (lx) dodge charger, magnum and chrysler 300. why does the same problem, with the same automobile, with the same year does not apply to a "sl"? how much do i have to spend to repair a manufacturing malfunction for something that should be a recall. i parked my car and on my way to work i could not move the gear, it stuck to p.

My vehicle suddenly shuts down after a short period of driving it has stopped several times in the middle of traffic and needless to say i was berated and once even threatened as several other vehicles could not pass this could cause an accident or someones life

Car was working just fine. parked it and came back to it to leave and it wouldn't shift out of park. no warning, no indication of a problem, and no loose or broken gear shift and in a split second, has left me stranded. even though the k39 notification from chrysler states that my year and make vehicle was included, they won't honor it under the recall because they said that it only covered 30,000 vehicles and my vin wasn't included. i explained that this is happening to my vehicle too but they won't cover it.

A week ago i was driving and my car stalled out and dash lights came on and the steering wheel locked up and all i could do was to let it come to a stop after trying to steer it failed. car would not start at all, it only made a slight noise when trying to turn the ignition switch, but went totally dead. had it towed home and checked out by a mechanic. was told that my spark plugs were burned out and the oil pump failed, thenhad spark plugs replaced, thats when it started and stopped for good. that's when i was told about the oil pump and he tried turning the front part of the motor it would not turn, he then told me i need a motor. i've taken good care of my car and have proof. i've seen many complaints about this happening to the chrysler 300's. i'm lucky that i didn't get hurt or in a bad wreck. is chrysler going to help their customers with this problem or wait till someone is seriously injured or killed. i'm just on social security and can't afford to have it repaired or replaced. i bought this car brand new, now i'm stranded and can't afford to buy a car. they need to help their customers. i was driving the car and was about to get onto the freeway. i also been having coolant leaking and car ran hot several times, couldn't find where the coolant leak was, had to check every other day and add more coolant. no coolant was on the ground under the car. became hard to start and had me stranded on the side of the road and freeway several times and had to wait for it to cool off before checking and adding more coolant, and waited awhile longer before starting it to drive home. chr chrysler need to buy this car back. it's been taken care of, looks new, has no dents and no rust, inside is clean, no damage, only little wear. i'm the only owner.

5 min after filling the fuel tank, going approximately 15 mph, the car started lurching forward. turned onto a side street, pressed gas pedal and the car completely died. then restarted as if normal. we had 2 grandchildren in the car on a very busy street. this could easily have created an accident. researched this problem, found there was a recall for the exact problem. but, when i entered the vin on this site, it states no recalls for this vin. what is my next step? i just bought the car and the original owner is deceased so i can't obtain any info/history on the car.

Very strong fuel smell what looks like may be a gasket under rear seat in vehicle... smell is even stronger after filling up, and when making hard stops. there is no gasoline seen leaking from under car at this time. concerned about fire hazard. heard others have had similar problems. this could also be a very significant fire concern as the fumes are very strong in garage with vehicle parked, and could be a problem when gas appliances or water heaters come in proximity to vehicle.

I own a 2006chrysler 300 with a 3.5 liter engine. over the last several months, i've experienced stalling and engine shut off following refueling. i took the vehicle in to my mechanic who alerted me to a recall issued by chrysler over this exact problem. the challenge, i was told, was that this was a vin specific recall, 14-002-14, dated 4/2214, on my model and engine's fuel system, noted as a lifetime warranty repair, as stated in that recall, but it did not include my vin number. my mechanic confirmed that this problem, allowing gasoline to enter the evaporator chamber in the fuel system by dropping the gas tank and examining it. i was told to take this to a local dealership to have it addressed. at my local dealership, the same examination was conducted and the same problem confirmed. the dealer told me that since the limited recall did not include my vin number, i'd have to appeal to chrysler directly. after several weeks of promised calls never being made to me, i finally spoke with brittany, a customer service supervisor who said i was not entitled to the lifetime warranty and free repair to this factory defect because my vin was not one of those vehicles covered under that recall. she said any repair to this acknowledged factory defect, confirmed by chysler's dealership mechanics, would have to done at my expense. as a consumer, i find this egregious. why should an acknowledge factory defect be repaired on my dime, while the same model, year and engine type as my vehicle is covered under and unlimited warranty by chrysler for other, select vehicles. i am appealing to your organization to help me obtain this repair before my family and/or i are subjected to a roadside failure of tragic accident. i look forward to hearing back from you soon. thank you.

My vehicle for the past 2 year have a shifting problem. i can't get it into gear and go over 28 mph. i had it checked out i was told nothing was wrong. the second time i was involved into a accident because tea went from 50 mph to 30 mph back to 50 mph to a barricade on the highway. my insurance cover the repairs and a week later still the same problem. i took it to the transmission shop and mechanic said it?s not a transmission problem he believe it a sensor problem. i took it to chrysler and they told me i just needed new brakes. i ship it from hawaii to new york and the mechanic replace the sensor it was fine for a week. i drove it to va for mandatory training and it completely die on me back to driving under 28 mph. my car is stationary in a residential neighborhood in va because it will not shift into gear and i don't know what's wrong...*bf *tr

Car has stopped while i was driving in a city street about 35 miles speed limit without warning. what worries me is that my 3 year old rides with me. i don't want it to cause an accident since i'm going the speed limit then all of a sudden it just shuts off causing me to stop at a halt. i haven't seen or received any recall about this that's why i'm reporting it. if you can please look into this everyone affected would appreciate it. i saw an online thread about similar complains. 2 lights also come on on the dash.

Vehicle shuts off while driving in traffic without any warning. no indicators appear on the dashboard. this occurs in the morning after starting the car and driving less than one half mile. when i come to a light or stop sign the vehicle shuts off.

When my key is turned to the "on" position without fully starting the vehicle, it starts stalling at low speeds and will not start without pressing the gas pedal. this will continue for approximately one week before the vehicle will return to normal performance. by normal performance, i mean it will start without pressing gas pedal and no stalling at low speed. when taking vehicle for routine services, i must inform the technicians not to place key in the "on" position or the problem start all over again. so far, i've had one accident due to this problem.

When driving my car to take my daughter to school in the mornings, when backing out of the drive way, coming to a stop at a stop light my car will completely shut off. when i start it back up and take off the car will sound like it will want to cut off again and start jerking. this is very unsafe. someone can hit me from behind if car just stops in the middle of the road.

When sitting in park and car running it surges up and down. when in drive and sitting at a red light, stop sign or anything that u have to stop for a longer period of time, meaning seconds, the car will hesitate and shut off or stall. it does it all the time, any time. you have to put the car in park, turn the key to the off position and restart if you don't do it that way it will start and shut off immediately. i just bought the car on 9/22/2017 and it has happened everyday since. i've learned that if i put the car in neutral while sitting for just a few seconds it will not shut off.

Drivers side tire suspension collapsed while backing up, had car towed to dealer across street for evaluation.

Right after refueling the car it ended up stalling at a red light. the engine completely shut off so i had to restart the car in order to drive again. the engine continuously shut off at every stop. it even happened in the middle of a u-turn, so i was stuck in the middle of the street until recranking the car. i did research and noticed this was a fuel tank problem do to a faulty valve placed in the fuel tank. they extended the warranty for some 2006 chrysler 300 owners, but not all. leaving me with the same problem and no help getting the problem fixed. even though it is there fault for building a faulty valve.

Takata recall: my complaint is not with the chrylser corporation itself, my complaint is the way that dealerships (ancira chrysler and ingram park chrysler) are handling it. i am actively trying to get my chrysler 300 airbag replaced, and i keep receiving notices from chrysler to get it done - and in the notices it says that it takes 2 hours to be replaced. when i contact a dealer to get it done, they tell me that they do not accept appointments for this recall, they are 4-6 weeks away from getting to my vehicle, i will have to leave my vehicle there for 3-5 days, and they will call me when it is available - but they never do. the chrysler representative even helped me call them and they never pick up the phone. they are purposely trying to dissuade people from getting it done. i am a working single parent, with one vehicle - it's all i can afford. i don't want my face blown off by my airbag, but i don't want to lose my job either. what the dealerships are doing is irresponsible, despicable and should be prohibited. they are not putting any priority into the resolution of this recall - and are as guilty as chrysler in their cover up of the defective airbags.

Takata air bag was replaced but dealer was unable or unwilling to tell which air bag was used as the replacement device. since the replacement, the gps system does not work, when i turn on the radio i get a bing bing bing sound. dealer says it is my job to replace radio and gps system for almost $2,000 - labor not included. new radio and gps not available for this car at this time. local vendor suggested the air bag was not installed properly or the wrong make/model was used to get the job done and get rid of me. i had also read on your list of recalls for this model there was a radio that exploded. i need the radio and particularly the gps to work and the car will have reduced resale value without either of those functioning properly. dealer ordered a new gps disc and tried to load it to make the system function once again, but the gps system would not load the new disc.

I am unable to get the gear shift out of park. we have tried both of the shift override buttons and nothing is working. i just had the car at the dealership last week for the airbag recall as well as a couple of shock issues on the trunk and hood. they also replaced the power steering hose, as they said it was leaking. i drove the car home, parked it in the garage and now it will not come out of park. i can't help but think they messed something up when they replaced the power steering hose. the towing company (aaa) says they haul about 5 - 6 of this exact issue each month!

I purchased my vehicle used 2 weeks ago. initially the vehicle was running fine until i filled it up with fuel. as soon as i pulled out of the gas station my vehicle started stalling as if i was losing power to my vehicle. after a few miles the stalling stopped. in the past few weeks the stalling has become worse every time i pump fuel. it shuts off if i'm idle at a light, it shuts off when i'm attempting to park, turn left, or in a drive thru. as soon as i would crank my vehicle up and go to accelerate the car won't move until after a few seconds and then it just jerks out before a smooth drive. yesterday i took it to a chrysler dealership because after informing the used car sales lot where i purchased the vehicle they couldn't find the issue and wanted to keep my car for a week. after 10 hours of trying to find the issue they stated there had been a recall on the fuel tank for 2006 chrysler 300s. he said that should fix the problem and i should be on my way. so i was relieved to hear the great news coming from the chrysler dealership. well after heading home and 20 miles out from the dealership there goes the stalling again last night. my vehicle shut off at the light and again as soon as i attempted to park my vehicle in the driveway. in addition to the fuel system issue is causing another issue that i truly fee wasn't investigated thoroughly. i noticed a recall on 2006 chrysler pacifica where the stalling was caused by the fuel system, tcm, and pcm module basically dealing with the power train and this is very highly the same issue going on with 2006 chrysler 300. there should've been a recall on both and there isn't. this is very dangerous as when i stalled onto the freeway i was almost hit by an 18 wheeler truck on last week. the tcm and pcm codes along with the fuel system code were showing in the diagnostic issue yesterday. help please

Sending another log. not sure my complaint went through. since beginning of 2014 my 2006 chrysler 300c hemi intermittently stalls after refueling. it occurs immediately after a refuel and usually when you are at a low speed to stop at a traffic light, stop sign, or it can occur by just traveling at a slow speed. this can occur 'anywhere' after a refuel. it has occurred numerous times after pulling on interstates after a stop at a convenient refuel. i'm always frantic due to the traffic on interstates. i do not feel safe with myself and passengers in my vehicle with this situation. sometimes after a refuel it will stall 3 - 4 times. i was going to take my car to a dealership, but wanted to read on the internet if any issues as this were logged. i was amazed. chrysler should pay for the fix, since it is over $1000 to fix the issue, plus it is a known issue of 'numerous' recorded loggings. it stated on the internet that letters went out for a lifetime warranty for this issue, but i did not receive a letter. please let me know how to go forward with this issue.

My 2006 chrysler 300 stalls at random times. it has stalled while i'm driving over 45mph, around a curve, stopped at a light and driving slowly through a parking lot. it doesn't just stall, it stalls over and over again. when it stalled this morning around a curve, i had great difficulty controlling the steering so that i didn't go into the ditch or into an oncoming vehicle. this is extremely dangerous. i have read many discussions online about the chrysler 300 vehicles stalling, and having no indication from dash lighting that it's going to happen. technicians cannot find any apparent reason for the stalls because it does not show up as code when connected to a computer. this has been ongoing for 4 weeks and has gotten to the point that i no longer feel safe driving the car at all.

After work i was driving home as usuall down a very busy main road with alot of traffic and light controlled intersections. i was about 25 min away from home when i was beginnign to make a lane change and excellerate over to the right lane. as i began to get over without a warning or notice my power steering went out and i was unable to turn my wheel without excessive force. as i continued to cost into the other lane and grab ahold of the steering i realized not only did this shut off but the engine did as well. i guided the car to the safest place i could (still in the middle of the intersection and put the car in park. hundreds of cars drove by honking and swearing at me leaving me stuck in my vehicle as it was to unsafe to get out. after about 15 min of that streess a helpful older man helped push me to a safer part of the street until my boyfriend could get to me and have the car towed home. after a week and a half and close to 500 later i was called with the news that a cylindar collapsed causing my engine to fail. it would be a 7,000-9,000 repair at the least. the problem with this is that i still owe 13000 on this vehicle and it barely blue books at 10000. so why would i pay the money when i have never had an issue with this vehicle in the 3 years of owning it and had no warning or way to prevent it. i always took my car to a dealer to be maintenced and never missed an oil change so how could this be happening to me. now i am stuck with a car in front of my house that doesnt work and had to purchase another vehicle in the mean time while i am dealing with trying to make chrylser responsible for this horrible situation. i have done massive research on this issue and learned that this year is already known for this issue and found over 200 compaints with people just like me who this happened to. please help me to get this repair covered or my car purchased back.

I notice my lights blinking in the middle of the day when i was behind a big truck. since then it appears to happen almost everytime i start the car and tends to go away after 30 minutes of running. at night it is very dangerous. the lights will blink and sometimes go completely off.. when i turn them off they come back on..then go out again i turn the switch and they come back on.. sometimes the dash lights also go completely out and other times they go from dim to bright and back to dim.

Owner of chrysler 300 and have taken car in every 3,000 miles as instructed by service center at dealership where i bought it. it appears dealer was notified may 27, 2015 about air bag but never called to put me on alert . took the car to the dealer once i got the recall notice and was told it would be 6 to 8 working days. called on day 9 and it wasn’t in. told them i need the car for appointments and to go to work. was told to call chrysler in detroit about that problem. i will call dealer once a week until fixed. in the past i’ve requested a check on the sun roof and they never got the person out to check it. said it was expensive. asked them to check trunk because when it rains or after car washes collapses and slams shut. i was told, “there’s nothing wrong with it.” has gotten me in the head twice. i’m pulling service receipts to check other problems. radio goes bing bing when i turn it on and continues for a while after the radio comes on. answer from service dept: "never heard that before". gps system won't work. tried to use it and it sent a message: check the disc drive (words to that affect) tried to check disc drive and can't get it to open. button is frozen. tow truck driver was out to charge a battery in another car and heard the tick tick going on in the chrysler. he said take it in ... he lost an engine because he didn't. they fixed it once and told me i got it in just in time. it's ticking again. car appears to be in a total state of failure. fix its: plug adapter 7-19-13; lever shift kit (car won't come of park) 7/19/13; adj tire pressure rating - $10 for technician 1/26/13; replace right head - rocker arm inlet and exhaust 12/21/11; $640 for 30,000 mile checkup and flushed engine; never once told me there were major problems. 66,254 miles.

Upon receiving my letter informing me that parts are now available for recall repairs (r25 air bag inflator housing), i called to make an appointment. i was them informed by the dealer that i would be placed on a waiting list and contacted in approximately 4 months to schedule and appointment as they were only scheduling 4 such repairs a day. as the letter i received indicated such repairs would be performed in a "reasonable time", i believe i am being placed in a position of undue risk for this length of time. this could be remedied simply by increasing mechanics available to the recall projects.

My 300 is my baby. in town miles, stored during winters, accident, none! shes mint but having said that, why the hell can u be driving down a road and the engine blows, no warning, no lights came on. i took my car in for its check ups, just 3 days prior, oil changes, all an im stranded, having it be my only car, yeah it gets towed. i have 2 children battling life illnesses i need a car, i had a licensed mechanic confirm the engines blown, now a garage ornament, sitting on brand new 22's rims an tires, 3000.00 tht i cant use but im paying on all b cuz ur guys chrysler 300 have a major engine defect!. i had cleaned out my acct just to buy another vehicle. going from work to cancer center, to krons clinics, hospitals weekly i had no choice. i am not the only one, there are websites alot of chrysler 300 engines are blowing up at 100,000. miles we need to be paid back, engines replaced and much more being we the people had faith these luxury cars would last longer and chrysler has let us down.

This is a complaint regarding repair of chrysler's vehicles affected by the r25 driver airbag inflator recall. i have tried for several weeks to schedule my vehicle for repair. i have called multiple dealerships in the state of georgia and the response is the same. there is a long waiting list because the dealerships are out of repair parts and chrysler has not sent additional repair parts. chrysler had agreed to comply with the national recall but has sufficiently supplied the dealerships with the parts needed. this cause an negative affect on my ability to drive my vehicle. i now have to limit my use because i am afraid that the driver's airbag may rupture and release metal fragments especially since i live in atlanta which is hot and high in humidity.

I hit a pole that crushed in the driver side of the car including part of the hood. did over $4500 of damages. even the frame horns had to be replace. the air bags did not worked. if it wasn't for the seat belts, i would have went through the windshield.

Car will not move out of park. it is due to a small solenoid inside the gear shift control. many other 300s have been recalled for this, but because of where the one in my car was made, i am not "eligible" for a recall. has it occurred to anyone at chrysler that perhaps the design of the part, and not where it is manufactured is faulty??? *tr

2006 chrysler 300. bought this car for my 16 year old daughter to drive. the car starting stumbling and stalling at random times, and speeds, once while driving at 80 mph the rpms dropped to 0 and the check engine light flashed; it always just flashes. then just as fast as the rpms dropped to zero it came right back up. the car jumped forward like i floored the peddle. i have managed to capture this on video, because it went on acting this way for several miles. then it was fine for about another 150 miles. then. it returned. i have taken it to the dealer 3 times and they say no codes no problem, the forth time it happened i got a code u0100 and p0700. with my scan tool but again dealer says they cant find anything wrong and there is no codes. when asked how was the check engine light on if there were no codes. the answer was they did not know. this problem still is present to this day. it still stalls and shuts down at any given speed. rather its parked or running 80. the car use to restart ok but now the restarting is becoming an issue. i just made the first payment on it a few days ago. i bought this car from a dodge dealer. here's what i am going to do. its well documented (by me and the dealer) that this car has a problem. they say its safe, they say no codes no problems. so im going to continue driving it and if something goes wrong (heaven forbid) chrysler will be funding my retirement. so thanks chrysler. i'm trusting you and your representatives. you say no codes no problem. please consider this another piece of documentation. *tr

Some time ago- about five years ,i purchased a 2006 chrysler 300 touring from franklin automall- mall in franklin township -what i have been experiencing endless times and concern that the lug nuts that hold the wheels on are (defective) i have purchase a set of new lug nuts in the past last set was 2013. what is happening is that i went for my brakes to be looked at a pepboys on 3016-2015in pomton plains nj,the problem was there lug nuts could not be removed. these type lug nuts- the outer casing separates from the lug nut itself, and spins around and around, difficulty to remove lug nut(s). any kind of brake repair or removing of a wheel.in event of a flat (i would certainly be stuck.) and again pay for new studs to be put in.chrysler has not changed these lug nuts that i am aware of- to better and more efficient ones, that has no outer casting that spins -preventing lug nuts to be removed. replacement sets-- were another set of lug nuts from the chrysler dealer from franklin sussex county auto mall,i was told at that time there are no replacements !!!!!!!...on thursday 3-25-2015 my car is going to another pepboys for brakes to be looked at in verona nj. im sure i will be the one getting stuck with the bill .for new studs.in closing the pep boys in pompton plains had a hard tome to get them off and the two were mangled i managed to get one off with not great ease at all.two in total-there needs to be a recall correct this constant problem with these brand of lug nuts,the outer castings don't hold up in any kind of weather and smooth out constantly.creating this over and over problem. *tr

I went out to start my chrysler 300 to head to work and again the gear shift would not move. i called chrylser (the company) and was told if i took it to a dealer to get it repaired it was possible i could have the repairs done free. so i had the car towed to the chrysler dealer where the mechanic said the problem was a part located within the gear shift that malfunctioned causing the gear shift not to move. the part just simply needed to be replaced, but it would cost me nearly $700.00. the same day i had the car repaired i contacted chrysler (the company) and was told they could not help me with this problem. so i waited to see what i should do. on july 17, 2014- i contacted chrysler to try and speak with them one last time about the situation before going to court. at one point the representative even became temperamental with me stating that because my car did not have the proper vin # it was not involved in the recall, regardless if it had the same problem or not. this incident happened once before. this is the second time i've had to have this part replaced.

I had heard of the faulty engine lifter assembly with these 3.5l engines. never had a problem with mine until now. started the car up to go to work about 5:30 am. horrible lifter ticking sound came from the engine. bought the car at 91,000 miles. changed the oil before the 5,000 mile recommended intervals. chrysler should step up and fix these 3.5l engines through a recall. *tr

Another safety issue for my 300 limited 2006! the power steering when turning both left or right makes a whining noise and a clunk noise. with the electrical issues and harness fire i am at loss on what to do with this car! i can't take my family in it. this car has only a little over a 100,000 miles. very low miles for that year of car. this is a one owner none smoking vehicle. look in my opinion safety isn't #1 priority for chrysler jeep and dodge then we need your help to make it the # 1 priority. *tr

I have contacted chrysler corp customer service about a few of the safety issues i have experienced with my chrysler 300 limited. no heip! i have experienced the gear shift getting stuck in drive. after going onto a chrysler forum where many other 300 customers experienced the same thing i found a quick fix to allow me to drive the car to a local repair shop using a screw driver. long story but yes i had to stick a screw drive into the gear box to release the car into drive and out repair cost $175 i was informed my vin wasn't a part of the recall! next issue the cooling fans in front of the car. i was getting some food at drive thru. as soon as i drive in line i heard a loud bang one of the fans mounts became loose and the fan blades hit to side wall and broke. $500 later to replace and yes again there was a recall for that but not my vin!!!! final straw my son and i where driving home from a game it was raining. both of us notice the smell of smoke coming from the vent it was faint but consistent. we luckily didn't have far travel home. when i pulled in and turned the car off i opened the hood a lil bit smoke and because the rain was hitting the engine it made a lil bit more of smoke. so i closed it and went inside. the next day i noticed both the passenger head light and fog lights weren't working. i checked the fuses, good. went up to get replacement bulbs. the employee at the store had a [xxx] of a time trying to removing the light from the harness. we noticed that the plastic was melted and dis colored. when i got home i got a look at the fog light harness it was factory fogs and the harness was melted black plastic. so i had to order replacement fog lights and head lights $475. im thankful we where blessed that the car didn't fully catch fire because no amount of money could replace my son!! there is 3 more electric issues at this time! information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I have a 2006 chrysler 300c, which is the motor trend car for that year. i really enjoy the spacious room and power of this car and was happy to get it back in the spring of 2005, directly from the factory. i had been enjoying my car until the car starting stalling. my vehicle stalled out after i filled the gas tank. it stalled several times while i attempted to leave the gas station. this has been an ongoing problem and i have been waiting for the gas tank to be replaced every since i heard about the recall last year. to date, the tank has not been replaced and i am concerned about driving it and stalling in traffic. this could result in serious accident if it stalls in traffic. i have taken the vehicle to a couple of dealerships in my area without any help for this issue. *tr

I stopped at a stop sign and the car stalled. it started right up, but had a hard time finding drive when i put it into drive. after that it ran fine. this same problem has occurred many times since. it happens randomly with no warning. it seems to happen more often after refueling, but also happens at any fuel tank gauge reading. also the car hesitates at freeway speeds on occasion, but doesn't stall when this happens. i took the car to two dealers and after spending $500 they couldn't fix the problem. i called chrysler and they were no help. my wife won't drive the car and i fear it will stall pulling out into traffic after a stop. after some investigation i have realized that thousands of 2006 300c owners have had the same problem and chrysler is fully aware of this issue. how the dealers can pretend they have never heard of this problem and take money from me to fix the problem with my car, knowing they won't fix it, has to be criminal. safety concerns were never addressed by the dealers or chrysler as well. *tr

While driving app 55 mph at app 8pm at night my cars lights and all the dash lights went out and the car completely stalled. i was able to turn on flashers and coast the car to the side of the road. i sat there for several minutes and then the car restarted. fortunately there was no one following behind me. i have been out of town on business and used a company car. upon my return i took my car to our local shop today. they were unable to detect any problems, however shared an article stating more than 150,000 chrysler owners have had similar trouble. they contacted the nearest dodge/chrysler dealer in aberdeen washington who offered no help or information. they could give no reason for the incident. we have not received any recall notice, nor information regarding any possible problems. how should i proceed? i am unable to drive my vehicle for fear this may happen again, and this time i may not be so fortunate. this has created a significant burden and stress. it seems someone should be accountable and that there is a significant liability by not being notified of this significant safety issue. is this an issue i need my attorney to address? thanks in advance for your help. While picking up my children from school the car failed to start, when i turned the key it made a horrible clanking sound (from the engine), at that point i had no choice but to leave the car there and walk home from school with the kids. i had just driven the car 6 miles from work, and the car gave no prior warning signs of this imminent failure. the following morning i had the car towed to my local mechanic, he later informed me that the valve seat came out of place (walked) and the car will need a new engine block and/or extensive work to repair the problem. he quoted the job to be at $7000, he also explained to me that this is a common problem particularly with the 2006-2008 chrysler/dodge hemi models, which should've been addressed by the manufacture due to the frequency in which this problem was occurring. i have always kept up with all scheduled maintenance and routine oil changes in my car, so i was totally surprise when this happened at 90,000 miles. currently i don'€t have the financial means to have the car repaired on my own, and i€™m asking is there any way that i can be compensated through the manufacturer for this problem? In april of 2014 i informed my local chrysler dealer of a stalling problem on our chrysler 300c. this problem first occurred in 2011 after fueling the vehicle and pulling into traffic. the engine did restart and cleared itself out right away. i complained to the dealer and at that time i'm guessing it was a new issue because " we have never heard of that". after doing some research i found out others were also having this problem after fill up. in feb 2014 i read an article about a lifetime warranty on these and other lx platform chryslers on these tanks. back to the dealership i go with this information and the local dealer put me on a waiting list. in sept. 2014 we were told we were next on the list for a new tank. it is now late october and still no tank. the dealership told me there were 2000 of these tanks on backorder and the would be distributed as they are built. today i called the chrysler support line. the lady was very sympathetic. she called my dealer and somehow i went from next on the list to #3 on the list. i now feel that the bean counters think a lot of the cars will somehow go away and then so will the problem. a few stalled vehicles involved in lethal crashes caused by this stalling issue linked to the fuel shut off float sticking may be what it takes. we know that by only fueling the tank to 3/4 full we do not have the problem. if we should trade this vehicle the next owner needs to know that there is a lifetime warranty on the tank but there is no parts support. *tr

My car stalls after fill up, only after i fill it up does it stall not at any other time.! also my air bag light has been coming on, after i drive car for awhile it will go off, but then it might light up again after driving. very erratic! now i'm having a problem with my car key, it won't unlock my car when i hit unlock, when this has happened i've had to manually unlock it, then it sets my car alarm off, i got up this morning and car horn was going off in garage. it's now quiet :) calling chrysler repair today!!! *tr

I have a 2006 chrysler 300 touring and i have had several issues with this car. from the first week that i bought the car(2/10/2013) used with 71,000 miles this car has caused me problems. the first issues i experienced was a problem with the transmission. the car would act like it was searching for the correct gear by shifting up and down on its own even when i was not accelerating, this would happen whenever i would go over 40 miles per hour. the problem ended up being the throttle body inside my transmission. the next issue i experienced was a shifting in the front end whenever i went over a speed bump or pot hole in the road, i found out that the strut, ball joint, and the rocker arm had to be replaced on my front end. then the dials on my dash started to go crazy periodically for no reason at all, i have yet to figure out what this is but i assume it has something to do with the computer. i also experienced complete failure of my cooling system. i had to replace the drier, condenser, expansion valve, and one other part that i cannot remember. the total for this job was about 2,700 and the transmission work was 3,750 and the work on the front end was a total of about 800.00 not to mention the brakes i've replaced and the new set of tires i bought for the car and i have had this car for 1 year and 7 months. *tr

After filling the gas tank, in phoenix, az, entering an intersection, the car stalled! we were almost hit by a car coming from another direction. it did this (stalling) many times. scary! apparently they issued an internal memo in june of 2013. in may, 2014 chrysler sent a letter to us extending the gas tank warranty to a lifetime coverage. they said it was the "fuel shut-off float, in the multifunction control valve sticks, which may result in the vehicle stalling after refueling." Vehicle stalls while driving. one night while slowing down from 70 mph to 55 mph vehicle hesitated but did not stall, check enginge light came on and went off. next morning vehicle stalled while sitting at a stop sign, restarted and then stalled again after less then two blocks. took it to mechanic he could not find anything wrong, vehicle drove fine for a few days, then stalled again. called chrysler customer service and was instructed to take vehicle to dealer and tell them about x-53 warranty. dealership checked vehicle and stated it was infact the fuel tank and would order the replacement. told me i was in line to recevie a replacement but they only receive one replacment fuel tank every 14 business days. car was driving fine for 2 weeks now it's stalling again, does not matter amount of gas in tank car stalls at different speeds and when coming to a stop. contacted chrysler to see if there was anyway the shipping/ordering of tanks could be increased and this time they tell me my vehicle is not covered under the extended warranty and i had to pay out of pocket if i wanted to have the vehicle repaired. can this case be re-opened to look at all chrysler 19 gallon fuel tanks not just the ones on the x53 extened warranty listing. thanks *tr

This morning i went to the gas station this morning after i put the gas in my car it turn off automatically can't get out of gas station with out turn it on 3 times move forward a little and then turn off completely after a couple minutes got out of the gas station and i was driving to my house afraid,scare of something may happen ,i stopped in stop sign it turn off again i turned back on and then drove again got into medium traffic street and it was no emergency it turn off bit this time i got a truck behind me so i turn my car into the walk side cause the truck was close to me and i would of hit me from behind my front lower bumper scratched, almost ripped ,i turned on again and reverse slowly back into the street the truck driver came to ask me what happen? ,if i was ok ? i explain to him what happen he told me i should not be driving the car anymore but i have to work he left and i kept driving with my emergency lines on a couple minutes after turn off again this time nobody was behind me turn it back on and drove again a block away from my house turn off again so i look for a safe place to parked and walked home,i call a friend to give me ride to work cause can't loose money or days or my job!!! it happen to me before i kept turn it on and i burn the water temperature sensor and killed the battery that in total cost me 411.95 dollars and i cant be working to fix this car is low in miles but no safe at all ...reopen the investigation nhtsa workers or drive my car for a day ...check the case on a cloverdale resident. *tr

Engine begin making a loud knocking noise steering wheel locked up could not turn or do anything with the car. i immediately put hazards on, noise stopped car began to slow down until it completely stopped. car would not start back . later found out it was do to oil sludge built up. oil light never came on when the oil was out causing engine failure. *tr

Floor gear shifter will not move from park position. chrysler says my vin was not part of the recall for this problem so they will not take care of the repair costs. i do not understand how chrysler can say some of the vehicles with faulty part will be covered by recall and others with the same problem will not be. *tr

Tried to leave work and gear shift stuck in park. got a ride home and googled finding multiple complaints. found k39 recall and called the recall center. they said my vin was not included and i asked why? it's the same problem and the same make and model covered under k39. they told me there was nothing they could do. what a crock! not buying a chrysler ever again. *tr

Vehicle stalled in public roadway following filling gas tank. struggled to get engine restarted. kept dying. managed to get rpms up but could not engage transmission. after some delay transmission engaged and was able to drive vehicle out of traveled way. i was blocking traffic. the engine would continue to repeat dying and i would have to pull over and perform restart sequence. this continued for several miles. at first, thought engine was experiencing vapor lock. also had thought i had purchased a bad tank of gas and my fuel filter was plugged. i was out of town and took the car into local chrysler dealer at that time. they told me it was my battery and charged me for a new one plus installation. when i returned home the next day some 250 miles away i found the car acted up again after i filled it up with gas. i contacted my local chrysler dealer who indicated there could be a problem with the fuel delivery system and being my car was out of warranty all cost for investigating to determine the problem and the actual work to make the repair would be on me. they could not give me any idea as to the possible total cost. i opted not give them a blank check and did not have them dismantle the car. i found that i can avoid the stalling if i don't fill the tank full. a sad solution to a faulty fuel delivery system. i'm the original owner of the car and have religiously cared for it. i have never received any documentation from chrysler regarding offering to correct the float (which now they have concluded is the problem). to set a deadline on january 2014 without notification of the owners is poor business. if that is their position than i will do my best to discourage anyone from buying their vehicles. they should have had a recall by notifying all the owners. i do get mailers from several chrysler dealerships and they have all my records!! shame on you, chrysler!!! *tr

After filling car with fuel car starts bucking and stalls. restarts and bucks and stalls a few more times then runs fine until next time we fill up. we cannot fill the fuel tank up or take a serious chance of having car stall in traffic. i have asked chrysler if there was a recall or fix for this and was told by service manger that he was not aware. they suggested that i need fuel tank unit $1,158.00. i have read that many people are having same problems and only fix is to pay for a new gas tank as this is only fix. chrysler should fix this for no charge as it is part of the emission system. i'm terrified to have my son in the car that we'll be hurt or killed by this flaw in the fuel tank. i hope we can get some help to get this repaired. thanks. *tr

After i filled up my gas tank and left the gas station, when i came to a complete stop my car shut off. when i restarted it, my rpms raised tremendously and my gears started shifting automatically and when i came to another stop my car shut off again. i only been having the car 3 weeks and i noticed that it always happens after a fill-up for a few hours here and there. once my gas needle moves a little bit below full, the car runs perfectly fine! *js

After i start the car i try to shift it out of park, i have to force it to shift. i had this happen to me before and had to have my car towed to the mechanic. the gear shifter had to be replaced. i am having to force it to shift but know it will have to be replaced sooner or later. *tr

Driving on to the freeway there was a click sound and the vehicle shut down had to take quick reaction as this is the entry to a very busy highway. managed to get into the breakdown lane car would not go forward put it in reverse and it worked then put it back into drive and managed to crawl home. the gearing is not changing through the gears. this is just after a rocker arm assembly being put into this vehicle two weeks ago. when i first purchased the vehicle the engine shut down on a busy road, turned out it was the remote start which was on the car when first purchased. what a nightmare this vehicle is. *tr

From what i've learned there's a defect in chrysler automobiles with the hemi engine. any time the gas tank is filled, if a sharp left turn is taken the car stalls out. this is exactly what has happened to me periodically over the last two years. i brought the car to two local mechanics and the chrysler dealership, nobody could figure it out, it doesn't show up on the car's computer. finally, a third mechanic googled it and came up with an article in the l.a.times that perfectly described my situation (duh, i should've thought of that). it wasn't until the car stalled in the middle of a busy road, on a friday afternoon, with my two-year-old daughter in the car, that i really had an issue. i was able to roll into the parking lot of a shopping plaza, so it ended alright, but if there was nowhere to go that could've spelled disaster! as a guy i can handle a situation like this, but when children are involved a defect of this type is unacceptable. i'm the original owner of the car, so it's not related to user error by any means. in the end the third mechanic quoted me $1800 for a new gas tank + lines + labor, or i could not fill my tank to the top when i get gas. thanks chrysler! plus, the shifter for the automatic transmission on the 300c will lock up, not letting the driver shift from park to drive. thanks again chrysler for stranding my pregnant wife! (i still have the shifter in my garage hoping that will be a recall). *tr

Back in september of 2011 when the car had 115260 miles on it, i had been having issues for some time with the car not shifting into higher gears when trying to pass someone on the road. the car seemed to want to stall but then would pick up and drive fine but it got to the point where the car would stick in a lower gear and not get over 58 miles per hour even if i had it floored. they replaced the valve body input speed sensor for this at a tune of $1041.99. next issue with this car was a tie rod on the passenger side of the car. i kept hearing a knock noise that i just couldn't put my finger on but i told the guys at the garage that it sounded like it was coming from the front tire area on the passenger side. the mechanic said that the tie rod was getting ready to break. the current issue with this model for me is the fuel. i just had a vapor canister installed that did not solve the issue but it did get rid of a few of the problems. when i first started having problems with my car shutting down after a fill up, i thought the gas had water in it but it's not the gas. no matter what station i fill up at, i have the same symptoms. the car will drive fine for about 3 car lengths, then it will hesitate, choke, jump, try to die, jerk forward and then finally stall and shut itself off. then it will take 3 or more tries to get the car to restart and it may do the same things over again for another block or two. the bottom line is, in the first 3 blocks of driving this car after a fill up, i can expect just about anything and i know for sure it will die on me if i fill it up. if i only put in 3/4 of a tank of gas or less, i am safe but if i let the pump kick off on its own, i'm in trouble. the only thing the vapor canister did was stop it from jumping and jerking, all the other symptoms are still there. this is very dangerous in traffic. *tr

When i would fill up with gas my car would stall and shut off as i approached a traffic light to stop or slow to make a turn. i contacted chrysler on may 15, 2013 about my car. i was told to take it to the dealer and i did but they say without the engine light coming on they would have to keep the car 4 to 5 days and break it down. then i read in the paper that you has closed the investigation into engine stalling in some 2006 chrysler cars after the company extended the fuel warranty. no one contacted me about the extended warranty (they should have after i contacted them of the problem). i emailed them again and they said that the extended warranty had expired. the fuel tank problem was and probably is on a lot of 2006 chrysler and because they never notified anyone of the problem we are responsible for the bill. i had been having trouble with my car for about two months before i contacted them. i would fill up with gas and start home and approaching a traffic light to stop my car shut off with no warning and no engine light ever came on. got it started and came to the next light and started to make a left turn and it shut off again and on coming traffic was approaching. got it started in time and going into the garage of my house and it stopped again. at first i thought it was the gas i was using but, no matter if it was exxon, citgo or bp it all was the same. stalling and cutting off were a regular occurrence. i didn't get to go on vacation last summer because i didn't know what was happening to my car. it was a night mare. i think chrysler did me wrong in not contacting me about the extended warranty after i had contacted them about the problem i was having. *tr

The car was filled up with fuel and no more than 2-5 miles from the gas station while driving the engine cut off with no warning while in traffic. was able to restart the engine and continue on and within a mile it stalled out again in traffic. this time the car would not start. the car was pushed to the side of the road. the oil pressure light was also coming on so did not want to push the car and cause further damage. after 45 mins i restarted the car fine and was able to drive 1 mile before it stalled out at a stop sign. again no warning and the car lost all power and you were unable to stop the car easily or turn the wheel since all power was lost. the oil pressure light did come on again but did not occur until after the car engine cut off and all power was lost. this time i checked the oil and the level was fine but i still added an extra quart of oil. then within 5 mins i was able to start the car and drive it the rest of the way 1-2 miles to the dealership. upon arriving at the dealership we checked the error coded. the dealership than changed the oil and did a full inspection and drive of the car and was unable to reproduce the issue i was seeing before going to the dealership. *tr

The noise started over a few months to now a gradual loud metal "ticking" noise when idling . i looked up various sites and apparently the rocker arm assemblies have had a problem in these vehicles of this age. i contacted chrysler who refused to communicate and or take to do anything about this problem. i read that the rocker arm assemblies were faulty at the manufacturing date of these vehicles yet chrysler will do nothing, there is apparently a new kit available to repair.. this is not a high mileage vehicle yet it has this loud metallic ticking noise coming from the engine and it is getting worse. *tr

I'm writing this because i believe that these 300s with hemis are death traps waiting to happen and strongly feel that a recall is necessary. it's happened about 8 times since we bought the vehicle in july, 2013 but the latest was last week, saturday, march 8, 2014 at about 11:30pm. my husband, my 6 mo baby, and myself had just filled up the gas tank on our way home. we were making a right turn out of the gas station and onto the main road, when the car went completely dead. the engine shut down and the steering wheel locked up. my husband had to put the car in park and, after about 3 attempts and a good 20 seconds or so, he finally got the car started. it spurted a little but started to move. about a mile later, we were pulling onto our street, when the car died again and did the exact same thing. lucky for us there weren't many cars on the street and everyone was alright but this is not safe! this has happened in the middle of the day when oncoming traffic was going full speed, at least 45 mph!! someone can die! after this latest incident, i've refused to drive the car due to it's unreliability and our car is currently at the dealership and has been for the past 2 days-going on 3. it took the service manager 2 days to figure out it's a faulty gas tank and that's after we told him about the nhtsa investigation, action number: pe13016, which just ended, february 10, 2014. apparently, chrysler extended it's warranty to cover gas tanks for a lifetime but, not for all chrysler 300s! we are being charged $1,905 for our gas tank to be replaced, which should be eligible for a lifetime warranty on our fuel tank but i called chrysler today and they told me that there is no extended warranty attached to our vin. please help before someone gets seriously injured and recall all gas tanks or at least extend the warranty to cover more, if not all chrysler 300s!! *tr

On three occasions the car stalled, twice while sitting waiting for a stop light change and once when entering the street from an access street going approximately 20 miles per hour. this has never happened before. *tr
