1995 CHEVROLET Suburban

Mirror Glass fell off Paint peeling off of the entire vehicle. Windshield wiper stopped working, MFG covered all

We have had problems with this Suburban for the last 6 years. We were just made aware of the manufacturers recall on certain items and would like more information. We have repaired what we could but continue to experience difficulties. For example the ABS brake system, the battery that disconnects while driving down the highway, our paint job has been deteriorating since 1999, and our check engine light comes on from time to time.

I bought the Suburban 2500 4×4 in November 1998, still under warranty but used. November of 2001 I noticed paint flaking off the roof and top of the doors, I notified GM in January 2002 and they said the truck was too old and it was not a manufacturing defect. Gm established a computer file request # C-06209405 and documented complaint and their answer. I happen to find your site , to my surprise, Chevy knows about the problem and they lied to me. I have pictures dated April 2002 and the email GM sent me dated January 19, 2002, What are my options?

The air conditioner/defroster compressor and other parts start consistent knocking sound. Over time,it became too loud to operate. This is the 3rd time. The first time the car was just out of warrenty, after I complained the dealer covered cost. The 2nd time I paid full cost. This 3rd time the dealer said there is no warrenty after 10000 miles and it has been about 17,000 miles since last replacement and I will have to pay full cost about $1000. Windshield wipers:The dealer told me there was no recall.

While traveling, vehicle started to spin counter clock wise onto the left beam, striking the cement wall with the rear right side of the vehicle, report stated that both rear ties had poor thread which indicated a poor alignment, consumer stated that vehicle experienced a blowout or hydroplaned, there were five injuries in the accident. (ohio traffic crash report). *tt

Tl* the contact owns a 1995 chevrolet suburban equipped with cooper discoverer h/t tires, size p235/75r15 (na). while driving 70 mph, the rear passenger side tire separated. the tire was replaced with a spare. while driving approximately 70 mph, the rear driver side tire blew out. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. the mechanic stated that the tire tread separated and needed to be replaced. the tires were replaced. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate tire failure mileage was 12,000 and the vehicle failure mileage was 240,000.

Fuel leak at rear driver side, it stop when truck is put in park. i'm afraid of a fire could start!!!!!!! *tr

I just recently began having trouble with my 2000 chevy malibu and it prompted me to being researching common issues with chevrolet vehicles. in my research i came upon an interesting fact that several makes and models seem to have intermittant turn signal functionality and hazard light issues. in my case my 1995 chevrolet suburban (which i love mind you) was being checked for a trailer to be hooked up. when the person performing the inspection attempted to turn on the hazard lights it caused a malfunction with all of my turn signals, breaks, hazards(no equipment was attached to the truck so no it wasn't a faulty connection to the trailer, that had not been attached yet.) after several minutes of messing with signals and pushing buttons it finally reset to normal. this funny wiring problem occurs every time i try to turn on my hazard lights. up to this point i have not had a need to use them but i am aware that they will not work if i attempt to. my advise to anyone reading this is if you are having trouble with your turn signals mess with the hazard light button before you go replacing flashers and bulbs. it took several times of pushing the hazard button and turning the signals on and off before they started to work again. i am very disappointed with chevy that this issue has not be address now that i am finding it to seem so common a problem. i was even more disapointed to learn that my malibu has issues that are similar to others with that make and model and those issues are ignored as well. a side note if you read my other complaint. the 1996 chevy s10 my spouse and i were going to trade the malibu for also has fuel issues. what a bummer i used to really like chevy. channel 9 news anyone. "nhtsa it shouldn't take someone dying before you make them fix it. if it is a known problem that can be proven is not normal ware they should have to fix it." *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 1995 chevrolet suburban. while parked, the contact noticed that the front driver's side seat belt would not sustain him properly when leaning forward suddenly, as the front passenger side seat belt would. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the contact was unaware of the necessary repair. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

Tl*the contact owns a 1995 chevrolet suburban. the vehicle has firestone steeltex a/t tires, size lt245/70/r16. the contact noticed that the sidewalls were separated on all the tires. he called the manufacturer in reference to nhtsa campaign id number 04t003000 (tires) and was referred to the dealer. the dealer could not locate the recall in their database; therefore, the contact would have to pay for replacement tires. the tires have not been replaced and the contact still has them in his possession. the dot number was unknown. the failure and current mileages were 30,000.

(1) have had to replace braking system 3 times in last 4 months (2) vehicle keeps pulling to the right and the anti-lock brakes have been activating for no reason (3)replaced rotors, calipers and brake pads 3 times in 4 months (4)when starting from start position brake calipers stay a little closed and eventually loosen up once the vehicles picks up speed. *jb

Dt: the contact stated the abs activated at low speeds. the mechanic bled the brakes and replaced the brake pads. the abs activated while driving around a curve at less than 5 mph. the roads were icy, and the vehicle was in 4-wheel drive. the brakes locked, but the vehicle kept moving until it crashed into another vehicle that was parked. the abs had been activated at low speeds six months before the accident. the abs activation was intermittent, and many times the brakes were difficult to depress. the vehicle is currently at a different mechanic shop, which determined that the problem may be with the abs sensors. *ak updated 1/11/2006 - the vehicle was taken to the service dealer who determined that the abs sensors were corroded. the dealer cleaned the sensors and sprayed the with an anti-corrosion spray. the consumer has filed a complaint with the manufacturer. *nm

The driver noticed a brownish liquid leaking from underneath the vehicle onto the ground while the vehicle was parked inside of garage. driver contacted a mechanic, and the mechanic informed the driver that transmission needed to be replaced due to the housing shaft. *ak

The consumer stated he experienced the same problem as stated in recall number 03v527000/steering gear bearings. upon turning the steering wheel at low speeds, it became difficult. also, there was a popping noise when turning the steering wheel. please provide any further information. *jb

My white 1995 suburban, which i am the orgional owner, paint is flaking off of the vehicle. i have seen other white cheverlot and gm vehicles doing the same thing on the similar parts of the car. i would like to know if their are any recalls concerning this matter. *ak

Loss of vehicle control on interstate highway. inadvertant lane change during noon urban traffic due to sudden movement of driver seat to the rear. seat collapse caused by seat separation at left front seat track attachment to the bottom of the seat pan. material failure of seat frame resulting in bolt attachment ripping free of sheet metal seat bottom. the seat is unstable and right front mount failure is iminent. no repairs attempted yet but failure appears to be well known and prevalent across all gm truck lines in 94-96 year group. note: no operator of this vehicle since 1996 purchase has weighed more than 180 lbs and the seat has not been subjected to any collision or abuse. normal loading and usage is light to moderate duty.

There were non events leading up to the unexpected failure of my stanadyne pump mounted driver (fuel solenoid driver). the failure caused my 1995 6.5l diesel chevrolet suburban to stall in rush hour traffic! this caused me to loose power brakes and power steering. being a 3/4 ton pickup, this was not a pretty picture. the stall caused me to run off the road and into a ditch. luckily there was no oncoming traffic. to correct the problem i installed a new ~$400 stanadyne pmd. these pmds are known to go out every 30,000 miles. this is not acceptable, and stanadyne needs to do something about this manufacture flaw. *nm

Firestone steeltex at tires, in size 245/75r16 i have experienced tread separation on two different occasions in the past years years. currently have one additional tire in my possession that was exhibiting the same symptoms of impeding failure. in both incidents, thankfully there was no personal injury, but each incident did result in significant damage to my vehicle in excess of $3000.00. 1st tire was returned to firestone for their inspection in august 2002, firestone claimed no fault or defect. 2nd tire was lost, 3rd tire still in my possession. *jb

The driver side back door has a pin that holds the door together has fallen off several times while i was driving and my children have almost fallen out .now the door doesn't shut properly.*ak

January 2001 my paint started falling off in large pieces, chevrolet was notified april 2001. the response was its wear and tear or acid rain, i have seen many other white suburbans losing their paint the same way. i have notified gm on their customer online center and recieved a cookie cutter response that it is not a manufacturer defect, i notified gm in 2001 and 2004 and recieved the exact same email word for word. i went back to my local chevrolet dealer and told him the problem, he took pictures and proceeded to work the problem(april 2004) the response from the factory is that they will cover 30% of the paint if i have them do it. i have two estimates from reputable body shops at $2600-$3000. that means i would have to cover about $2000 for a factory defect, both body shops diagnosed the paint problem as delamination ( seperation of paint from primer). as of this time there is no resolution as i feel gm has known about the paint problem since 1993 and is waiting for these old cars to be scrapped so they won't have to repaint them. my 1995 suburban 2500 4x4 is a low mileage vehicle and i want to keep it as long as i can!*ak

While driving 45 mph had used the turn signal, and turn signal light remained on until the vehicle was turned off. consumer took vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic wa snot able to duplicate or resolve the problem. *ak *mr

Due to icy road conditions driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a concrete wall. upon impact, none of the air bags deployed. *ak *mr

While parked battery acid was leaking inside of the vehicle from the positive post. the driver had the vehicle towed to the dealer for analysis, and the mechanic replaced the battery, but the problem still exists. *ak this problem caused damages to other battery components, fenderwell and frame. the consumer requested reimbursement. *sc

Driver and passenger front door handle keeps breaking on the inside. when it breaks consumer is not able to open the door. *ak

The abs/hydraulic system has again gone out on my vehicle. after my first complaint 5 years ago, i had the anti-lock braking sensor replaced--unfortunately it was prior to gm's current technical service bulletin when the vehicle would have still be under warranty. now, i am experiencing the same problems. i feel that gm has opted to make a temporary less expensive and quick fix rather than offering their customers a permanent and safe solution to this problem. *ak

On my 1995 chevrolet suburban lt, my paint is chipping off. i notified the dealer and they said this was wear and tear. so i e-mailed the main office and was told it was too old for them to repair. this is not wear and tear paint does not just chip off a car get dull maybe but not chip off car. i was told by one of the car painters from central chevrolet dealer in fremont ca that they mixed the paint with the primer to take a short cut. he had seen many of these and was not able to do anything about it. i think that this should be recalled paint should not chip of the car this is not wear and tear!!!!!!!! *nlm

The driver side seat bottom frame assembly broke apart on my 1995 chev. suburban. this caused the seat to tip backwards. fortunately i was able to catch myself using the steering wheel and balance in the seat and get the car under control. i did not crash, but this is a very unsafe design.

Metal body of driver's seat is fatigued and cracked near point of attachment to the mounting frame containing the power seat adjustment motors. point of failure is left front corner. *nlm

The seat bracket on the drivers side seat broke at the weld causing the seat to snap backwards. the dealer had the bracket part on hand which indicates to me that this is a common occurrence. it is potentially catastrophic. *nlm

Rear cargo window on passenger side (not back door glass) leaks water into the "bulkhead" area. as water builds up it eventually splases over into the cargo area inside the vehicle thereby flooding the carpet, etc. this occurs whenever there is rain of any substantial amount and is ongoing contiuously. several area suburban owners are experiencing this problem ands no one seems to have a solution.*jb

The front left corner of the driver's seat base failed at the point where the seat base attaches to the slider. as the second owner of the vehicle, i am unsure of the history. regardless, having the driver's seat so poorly attached is surely a safety issue that needs serious attention. i have read other complaints and i am disappointed with the apparent lack of attention to this matter. how many people must complain of the same failure of a safety device before the manufacturer is held accountable for the defect. we cannot all be making this up. it's not like the electric window or radio quit working. does someone have to get killed?! *jb

Driver seat frame is broken, causing seat to rock back and forth.*jb *ts

While driving, consumer rode over a small pothole and a weld broke in the steering column which caused the steering wheel assembly to break and fall into the consumer's lap. *jb *ts

While on a trip i found out that i needed my tires balanced and rotated. upon inspection found steel sticking out in several places on two of the four tires and the tread was starting to seperate. replaced all four tires.

Consumer states while braking had extended stopping. please provide any additional information. ts

While driving and with no warning anti lock brakes will lock up while consumer is pressing accelerator pedal. it will be hard for consumer to control vehicle. dealer notified. *ak

Had received a recall on windshield wipers. had taken to dealership for repairs. mechanic indicated the recall for wipers were already done and would not redo. contacted manufacturer and informed of same information. vehicle never repaired for windshield wipers. originial owner. ts

Consumer states that while driving and no warning the windshield wiper will work intermittently and it will hard for the consumer to see during rainy weather. dealer notified. mr

Windshield wiper arm disconnected while driving 60mph in gusty and heavy winds. driver lost visibilty due to arm resting on side mirror. driver's side wiper arm doesn't have a capture to hold the arm in tack like passenger's side. dealer not informed. *ak consumer reviewed this failure with engineers and they admitted that the design of the wiper is faulty. engineer is from delco itt automotive plant where consumer works and where the original wiper system is made. *jg

While traveling over 50 mph vehicle was involved in a crash at which time the air bags failed to deploy. dealer has been contacted. *nlm

While driving windshield wiper motor will go out. wipers perform intermittently. this could cause an accident. cause unknown.l dealer notified.*ak

Passenger rear tire separated without warning while traveling 65mph. tread was still attached and flapping around, causing damage to vehicle. no prior warning. tire size lt245/75r16; 23,000 miles; aftermarket tire on a 1995, chevrolet, suburban, 2500. *ak all five firestone tires were replaced by the consumer. *yh

The power windows and the door knob do not work. consumer states he spoke with the dealer. the problem has not been resolved as of yet. *jb. consumer stated the rear right tunr signal not working, the wires were replaced.*mj

While driving at 55mph in pouring rain windshield wipers went out, resulting in poor visability for consumer. this problem has occurred once before, but windshield wipers eventually worked agian. recently, wipers have gone out, and have not come back on.*ak

During normal operation air bag light will illuminate and stay on. dealership has examined vehicle and determined air bag control unit in steering column was causing the problem. cost to consumer would be $600.00 for repairs. please provide any additional information / documentation.*ak

While traveling approximately 30 mph all brake operation had failed. dealership examined vehicle, and determined that battery fluid had leaked on brake lines, causing brake failure. there was no crash or injury to report. please provide any additional information / attachments.*ak

Driver side seat frame is cracked and is separating from anchorage which causes seat to rock back and forth upon acceleration of vehicle. please give any further details.*ak

Windshield wipers will stop working at any time. when windshield wipers go off consumer is not able to turn them back on. consumer s has experienced same problem as mentioned in recall 98 v 150 001. consumer has contacted dealer. please provide any further information.*ak

Driver side electrical seat broke. seat frame welding would come apart without prior warning, no cracking or noise. dealer has called this a "common problem" but will not cover under warranty.*ak

Whenever driving abs light would come on. would sometimes stay on for a week or even just a day. problem is intermittent. have been to dealership where mechanic has been trying to solve problem.*ak

A ruptured brake line caused leakages. dealer/manufacturer notified. repairs were made by the dealer. *ak brake line had rusted through and the fluid was running out. *slc

Engine check light comes on and off. upon acceleration or going up a grade vehicle will sputter and lose power which almost resulted in an accident. consumer has continuously taken vehicle to dealer , but dealer could not determine cause. in meantime consumer was driving an unsafe vehicle.please provide further information.*ak

While going 40mph another vehicle in front slammed on brakes. chevrolet's driver applied brakes & abs light came on. pumped brakes 3 times and all wheels locked up. vehicle went into a skid. then into the left hand lane. took foot off brakes to come out of skid. vehicle finally stopped. took vehicle back to dealership & had it checked. noticed rotor broke in half, it was not corroded. pads sitting on mounting had broke away from each other. *ak

Front brakes repaired 10 times. back brakes just done. problem seems to be with abs system. no help from chevrolet.*ak

Ongoing problem with severe pulling to left when brakes are applied while driving at 45-50 mph. vehicle been in dealer shop on two occasions, and unable to locate cause. please feel free to provide any further details on this matter. *ak

The tire tread delaminated at high speed when the outside air temperature was about 95 degrees. this is the second delamination of an identical tire on a different but identical vehicle in our fleet. the previous failure occurred on a rear wheel

Both rear tires began to form cracks arround sidewall and shoulder over about 4 weeks, front tires were free of cracks. tread separated from shoulder to shoulder cleanly all the way arround. tire stayed inflated. tires had the following markings: lt245/75r16, 120/116r, vn11 bac, e4, 00 8009, da 807t, a14l, 08149.

While driving at approximately 70 mph southbound on ca99 the right rear tire failed. there was a complete tread separation. the tire did not go flat. there was no accident or injury. the damage was limited to the vehicle. the tire was purchased on 03-18-98 and had approximately 55,000 miles on it. there was still good tread remaining on the tire prior to the failure.*ak

The metal seat frame has failed at the left front corner and separated from the power seat track. initially the seat appeared to be slightly loose, but the instability of the seat has increased. not only is it uncomfortable to drive, but i am concerned that the if i were involved in a crash, the seat frame would fail at other points and possibly cause injury. i am the primary driver of this vehicle and am 6'1" and weigh 185 lbs. my wife occasionally drives the vehicle but she weighs less than i do. the vehicle has never been in an accident and i cannot envision why the metal seat frame would fail absent a defect.

This the third trasmission that has been repaired on this vehicle, and even though there is a recall on 1995 suburbans for a thin transmission case, i was told mine does not qualify. *ak

The lower seat frame is broken on the driver's seat in the front left corner. a 3 or 4 inch section of the steel plate broke in to 4 pieces where th bolt holds the seat to the base. this happened under normal use of the vehicle. it has not been in any accidents or been subject to any undue stress. we feel that this is a safety hazard. the steel is evidently of poor quality. we don't feel safe in driving this vehicle. if one corner broke what is to say that the rest won't, especially now that the seat isn't anchored properly. we hate to think what could and would have happened if this had broken during an accident. would any of our seats have held our family? seat belts wouldn't have been enough. chevy will not replace the frame because we are out of warranty. we feel that this is a defect and is not a warranty situation. it is a safety issue that needs to be addressed!

I am extremely concened that i have not heard that the firestone problem extends to their fire hawk line of tires. i had three failures of these tires, all tread separations, within a one year period. after the first separation the faulty tire was replaced. after the second separation, if i remember correctly, all the tires in the production series were replaced. after the third separation i replaced all the tires with another brand. from my personal experience the problem with the fire hawks is just as potentially lethal as those currently under investigation and this needs to be addressed before more people are killed. by the way, my tires were not underinflated and the suburban was not being driven with a unusually havy load. these tires were just defective.( dot number: tire size: p275/60r15 )

We have had our airconditioner serviced at least 4 times. we have tried different shops in hopes that someone could find a leak. on each occassion the shop would put dye in the freon but could not see it leaking out. a charge will last about 3 months. the vehicle goes from one day the a/c works great to the next day having no cold air at all. the a/c doesn't gradually fail like you would think it would if their was a freon leak. i would like to know if anyone else has had this problem and what i can do about it. thanks.

When i started to drive forward the rear end made a popping sound and the vehicle began to vibrate. when i would turn the vehicle made a louder sound and stronger vibration. i took the vehicle to my mechanic who looked at it and found the pinion gears broken and metal shavings in the rearend. *ak

The front brake pads were replaced after being replaced approximately 20,000 miles ago. my wife drives this vehicle and is a very gentle driver. i have seen numerous complaints and problems relating to unsatisfactory front brake pad wear on this year/model with abs brakes. also, i read that in july of 1999, gmc had initiated a recall for this vehicle/brake combination, but have heard nothing. getting 20,000 miles on a set of front pads (95% gone when replaced) while the rear shoes (replaced at the same time) show little wear is absurd in my opinion. it just seems that "something ain't right." *ak

The rear axle seal continually failed, allowing gear oil to soak the rear brake shoes. the oil soaked rear brake shoes cause many problems, many affecting the abs system, and directional stability of the vehicle during stops, the distance required to stop, and a general poor feeling of the brake system. the oil soaked rear brake shoes cause the rear wheels to lock up at low speeds when the brake is applied, especially when the conditions are wet. under all braking conditions, the vehicle will pull to one side or the other. because the rear brakes are not contributing to slow the vehicle down, as designed, the front brakes do more of the stopping, and the abs is more apt to detect an actual skid. the abs, unlocks the lock wheel, thus overlaoding the other front wheel, causing that wheel to skid, and the abs unlocks that wheel next. this cycle continues, causing the brake pedal to travel towards the flood, and the vehicle to pull to each side repeatedly. the symptoms i am reporting are reported at your web site hundres of times. it is time the general motors is forced to do something about the brake problems, many of which may be traced to leaky rer axle seals.*ak

The anit-lock brake light is not on, but several time the vehicle has gone into a skid with no control. the brakes lock and unlock at a slow enough rate to cause a hopping that driver and passengers can feel and cause a skid. took in for service told drums and rotors have been overturned, replaced still not working properly. the vehicle and brake pedal hops when stopping normal or hard. thought there was going to be a recall on the anit-lock brake system so been holding off, dealer wants over $700 to fix and then if recalled get money back?!?*ak

Excessive brake system failure, pulling and wear is still an ongoing problem since the first day the vehicle was purchased. brakes and system repaired every 500 to 2,500 miles by chevy dealership or an auto center licensed to do chevy warranty/out-of-warranty work. brake conditions deteriorate rapidly once repaired. calipers, rotors, proportional valve, delco brake pads, cyrogenic pads, idler arm, pitman arm, alignments, abs, rear antilock sensor, all have been replaced, some excessively. very concerned about possible accident resulting in fatalities due to brake performance. fyi, the service center has shown me the tech bulletins published by chevy regarding repairs/service to the brake system. the service center has worked on numerous vehicles with the same problem(s) that i have experienced with the chevy suburban brake system. all repairs/service on the suburban (in- and out-of-warranty) are documented and are available if needed.

Windshield wiper motor failed on the interstate at 60mph, causing loss of vision because of salt spray. had to pull of highway and use back roads to drive on and stop often to clean the windshield by hand. found a parts store and replaced it in the parking lot. not a fun trip. *ak

I have replaced the brake pads, hoses and master cylinder. the rotors have been checked and rotated. problem still persists at my expense! none of this work was done under warranty. continuous problems with air conditioner. dealer could not find fault. i have spent several $'s fixing this issue.

Without warning, during driving in a rain storm @ 65 mph the wipers "stopped" in mid-stroke . it was difficult to see to safely slow down and stop. within a few seconds they started wiping again. this continued every few minutes until we left the rain storm. i can not duplicate this when it is dry and not raining.

My brakes have been replaced 5 times in less than 5 years and only 43,000 miles, with the first time being at only 8179 miles! the dealership's excuse is that "your vehicle has semi-metallic brake pads which will not last longer than 12,000 miles" this is baloney! no vehicle should have to have its brakes replaced annually (or more)!

The seat frame for the left front drivers side seat failed. there was only 67,000 miles on it. i drove it for a while until i could get it fixed, if the otherbolt had failed the set would have tipped backwards while driving, i don't believe i would hav been able to control the vehicle if that happenned. i have kept the vehicle and it is about nine months later. teh replacement is beginning to fail in the same way. this seems unacceptable. the dealer has informed me htey have seen this problem in other suburbans, i have heard of the same problem from other owners and i see the same problem listed in your complaint summary. please make them conrrect the problem. it is simply a poor design and if both bolts fail at the same time, it seems very likely someone will get hurt.

The metal of the dirver's seat frame is cracking and splitering where it the left front corner is attached to the power seat rail/track. initially i reported a squeaking noise from seat to a md chevy dealer in 1996, who found nothing wrong and explained it off as normal wear and tear and seat would not be replaced. on april 14th, 1999 i discovered metal fractures after squeaking noise became increasingly louder and trying to figure out its cause. contacted chevrolet at their web site and expressed my concern over the appearent material failure occuring. i recieived an email asking that i contact a service representative at 800-222-1020. i was to give the representative my reference file number: 990206345. i spoke with a ms. pamela dorsey at extension 3732. ms. dorsey was very curt and indicated that chevrolet motor division wouldn't do anything about this problem. i researched the nhtsa data base on this vehicle and found 25 complaints on the same seat with the same symptoms. since i am a member of the u.s. armed forces, i don't make the kind of money to purchase another seat for this vehicle. notwithstanding the structural integrity of the seat frame failing in five years and unlike the other complaints, it's a just a matter of time when my seat detaches, worse yet, while driving.

The seat is improperly designed. the rivets break causing the driver to fall backwards. this causes loss of control of the vehicle especially at highway speeds . the seat breaks every year or so. it starts making a popping sound, rivets getting loose, then finally breaks causing the driver to fall backwards. i have been told by the dealer that this is a known design problem and that there is a t.s.b. out on it which i have not seen. i am told that they do not have a fix just put another seat frame in each time. the last time it broke it was repaired as a goodwill gesture. the dealer has told me that it will not be repaired again under warranty. this is a dangerous situation which causes a possible loss of control of the vehicle as it is a sudden failure. it just pops and you fall backwards. the problem is also described as seat popping. the revite get loose and cause the seat to start making a popping sound (which is happening to mine again now) then they finally break. a new truck sold by gm should not have a seat in which the seat frame breaks every year of so. gm just says tough.--------- as to the brake issue i only included it because i ha d so many problems trying to get it repaired. the brake hoses colapse causing the brakes to stay applied. numerous visits about breaks squeaking/applying were to no avail. even after they would stay applied it took several visits to get them repaired. while driving on the highway theyy apparently would heat up causing the problem to be worse. th ebreaks would get so hot smoke would come off them and the vehicle would hardly move. the dealers replace almost every break part before replacing the hoses which were colapsed inside.

Lower seat frame bracket on the drivers side experiencing problems with the metal bracket tearing loose due to poor reinforcement and the light gauge materal used in the component.

The ignition design on the chevrolet suburban is flawed. something causes the battery to leak to the point of totally corroding away the cables. there are no warnings, the vehicle just stops. the battery acid leaks into the internal part of the positive cable and destroy the connection. because the negative cable is design to run under the positive terminal, it is also effected by the leak.
