Transmission failure. Ford should pay for the repair i bought the car used for my son so he could get a job and it went out by time i got it home i wish i know they had problems with this trans

transmission has been giving us small problems for a number of years, intermittenly not being able to get it out of park, then recently it just started to act like it was stuck in neutral. i just figured that was my bad luck but then i was reading and the taurus has what seems like a bad reputation for their transmission, if i would have known this earlier i would have traded it in when i could have. i never received any information that the transmission had a high failure rate. the only reason i am doing this is to document more transmission failures in ford.

The engine stalls at idle and at a stop hot or cold numerous attempts by mechanics did not help this car is a lemon they are not kidding ford does stand for fix or repair daily. signed never will buy a ford again

Ignition module failed in June, 2001 at 101,377 miles and now again it has failed at 113,000 miles. The first time the car just wouldn’t start in front of a building, the second time at a city intersection at midnight. In checking with Ford Corp and the local Ford Dealer they have no heat deflector, insulator or kit to move the ignition module from its location just above the engine at the base of the distribtor. Now I feel my car is unsafe to drive and no one will even offer a solution. Do I need to file a lawsuit for the blue Book value of my car against Ford?

i replaced the front motor mount twice on this car it is gone again not even ayear and 2 months later.electrical light for battery keeps flashing on and off.put in new wiper motor and that is gone again works but it shuts off when it wants

Head gasket failure resuling in the loss of cooling. No serious internal engine damage. Replacement of headgasket and bolts, flating of heads required. Not covered under warranty. Ford does not cover under warranty or goodwill to their former customers. Should last the life of the engine.

HEAD GASKET AND OF COURSE OTHER ENGINE PROBLEMS. I don\’t know if I\’ll even have my mechanic do any repairs. It looks to me like its going to come down to being a disposable car! And I\’m out of transportation, after just last week I put $500. into it and 2 months ago had the whole radiator system serviced. The thing just started jerking on my drive from Phoenix to Cottonwood Az. just as I entered Cottonwood city limits and the temperature gauge just plunged to HOT in just a second. 3 mechanics tell me all the same story, Head Gasket and more then liking engine repairs, that are very expensive! And they advise not to put any more money in it, because it could just happen again. We are in the age of disposable everything, including FORD craftsmanship!Fortunately for my 75 year old mother and myself, both handicapped, we made it to town! I have driven a 1966 Mercury Comet for the majority of my life until my brother helped me out by buying this car for me. My 66 never, ever, let me down!!! Ford, I guess just doesn\’t care about their customers like they use to. It is so said, because I always stood behind Ford, but not any longer!!! I will never own an other Ford and my whole family has always been ford owners and collectors. Thanks for keeping these records, if Ford ever happens to back their Taurus repairs please let me know.

CRONIC STALLING AT ALL SPEEDS! DIRECTED TO REPLACED FUEL PUMP, FUEL RELAY, MULTI-TASK SWITCH, IGNITION, SPEED SENSOR. ALL OF THESE REPAIRS SHOWED UP ON DIAGNOSTIC BUT NONE OF THE REPAIRS FIXED THE PROBLEM. THE CAR STILL STALLS AND THE DIAGNOSTIC SHOWS NOTHING WRONG.

Coolant leaking into head gasket and piston/cylinders causing engine to vapor lock and freeze. We bought a $900 extended Warranty on this vehicle, and we had to pay a $95.00 diagnostic fee to see what was wrong, Hansel Ford in Santa Rosa, California says that warranty will NOW only cover specific parts of the engine and not all of the engine as described in extended warranty, we bought the EState Warranty from the dealership in case something like this happened. We have now no money to pay for the cost of the repair that we thought was covered under the extended warranty, and basically have no recourse except to either tow the vehicle from Hansel Ford in Santa Rosa to our place of residence in Santa Rosa, and or sell/ot towed to a junk yard because said warranty is of no use. We have had the vehicle a little more than 1 year. have put approximately 10,000 miles on the vehicle, which the warranty states car is still under because its 36,000 miles or 3 years which we come well under that. If Dealers would be held more liable, as well as the Ford Motor company, they would probably back their products (cars,trucks etc. better.)

both head gaskets prematurly failed causeing the engine to overheat and majar engine damage had gas in the oil pan, and coolant in the exhast system.

I replaced both motor mounts and still need to replace trans and trans mount. The trans slips and jumps back and forth frm 2nd and 3rd gear. The paint is pealing and starting to rust. i also just put a new computer in it…

A car ran a stop sign, t-boned me on front pass-side pushing me off the road to the left. seatbelt did not restrain me, both airbags deployed, left bag blew shrapnel cutting my face and injuring my right eye.

1st time an $8 front seal, on transmission went out at 58,511 miles,and cost a total of $418.47 plus charges for a rental car for 3 days. we were 245 miles from home. 2nd time transmission went out at 95,509 miles. we were able to get back home. repair was $1272.63. it was repaired with upgraded parts. failed again at 108,400 miles. repaired under warranty. present mileage 131,930. so far ok.*ak

Tl* the contact owns a 1992 ford taurus with gillette silver bear (205/65r/15) tires (dot e2urmyc2003). the contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph the rear passenger side tire blew out. the driver stopped the vehicle on the shoulder of the road and replaced the tire with the spare tire. the driver noticed the tread had separated from the tire. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact he would have to mail the tire in for inspection. after the tire was inspected, the manufacturer determined the tire had evidence of over deflection. the manufacturer did not provide a replacement. the approximate failure mileage was 126,000.

Tl*the contact owns a 1992 ford taurus. while the contact was driving approximately 5 mph, he heard a loud noise and the rear corners of the subframe fell off of the vehicle. the subframe bolts on the rear end of the vehicle were covered with rust which caused the steering wheel to become unstable. the contact referenced recall 98v323000 (component: structure: frame and members) but the dealer stated that his vin was not included in the recall; he was informed that he would be responsible for all repair costs. he called the manufacturer who confirmed what the dealer stated. the current and failure mileages were approximately 72,000.

Tl*the contact owns a 1992 ford taurus. while driving 45 mph, the rear mounting attachment for the engine cradle deteriorated on both sides of the vehicle. the failure was caused by road salt, debris, and other natural materials. the contact noticed that the failure could cause major safety hazards. if the engine cradle is not supported, a loss of steering and a crash may occur. he was able to successfully drive the vehicle to his residence. the vehicle has not been repaired. the dealer provided him with a reassembly kit, as if the failure were common. the failure mileage was 137,000. updated 5/19/08 *cn

I bought 3 ford taurus wagons in 6 months and the springs broke in all of the 3 latest cars. both springs broke wile i was driving ,puncturing 1 tire. no repair made yet. *ak

K-frame(sub frame)fell. both times while driving, but both times at low speeds. frame fell and i could not steer car. both times my transmission was serviced. 1st time may, 2006, was due to faulty bushings and washers. 2nd time, frame broke, rusted, gone. all at the prescribed location and problem that led to recall. am i driving a death trap, is ford responsible for the repair, is it my fault, the transmission guys fault or fords ? please help me. by the grace of god i was spared being on the open roadway, but if i had and my family was with me we would have been killed. when this happens, the weight of the engine and trans. falls directly on the steering, i absolutely can not steer the car. please someone respond to me before something else happens. thank you ! *jb

Dt*: the contact stated the child safety seat was too vertical when installed in the vehicle by a child passenger safety technician, causing the head of the infant to jerk forward upon stopping the vehicle. the vehicle was traveling 35 mph when it was stopped under normal circumstances. the manufacturer was notified, who stated that this situation did not pose a hazard to the child. the safety seat was an evenflo discovery.

Dt*: the contact stated while driving a snapping noise was heard in the front left side. the vehicle was driven home where it was determine d the left front tire was flat. the sway bar bracket tore away from the strut and punctured the tire. the repair personnel suggested replacing the shock absorber and strut. there was nhtsa recall campaign 94e036000. however ,this vehicle was not included included due to the vin. *ak

Dt: 1992 ford taurus. the u shaped housing that holds up the engine rusted. consumer took vehicle to a mechanic, and they told him that it was an unsafe vehicle. the right outer tie rod, engine cradle rusted. also, the front, emergency, service and rear brakes were no good, the key broken in the ignition. there were other problems with the vehicle. the consumer acquired vehicle from an auction house. he had a mechanic inspect it, and found it was bad. he took it back the auction house and he kept the title. consumer believed that they might have tampered with the odometer . the incident date he took it to the mechanic and he rejected the vehicle. it was taken back to capital auction 603-622-9058.*ak

Ford taurus, 1992, front k-frame broke loose from chassis resulting in a lock-up of the steering, fortunately at a low speed, thereby endangering the driver and passenger of the vehicle. the vehicle was towed to a local repair shop where we learned that this was not unusual in the 1989-1994 ford taurus cars. the failure of the structural member was caused by normal rust damage to the front a-frame. i would have expected to find this design defect on this site.*ak *nm

The vehicle is a 1992 ford taurus wagon. on july 26, 1996 the coil springs broke puncturing the front tire while backing out of the service department of midas for an oil change. ford at the time said there were no recalls on the vehicle so therefore it was repaired at midas. this morning, february 3, 2005 the coil springs again broke puncturing the driver's side front tire and will again need necessary repairs totally approximately $450.00. called ford said there were never any recalls on this year vehicle but information from the internet indicated that ford motor company recalled nearly 900,000 ford taurus and mercury sable 1999, 2000, and 2001 sedans stating in cold weather states salt from roads could corrode and fracture the cars' front coil springs and they were installing protective shields in the recalled vehicles. my concern is that even though this model is older and there were no recalls what is the safety of driving this vehicle? i wonder what the outcome would be had this vehicle had the coil spring break while on the freeway...would you be able to maintain control of the car? the safety of this vehicle greatly concerns us.*jb

I was proceeding after waiting for a traffic signal when i heard a loud pop. i hesitated for a moment, then proceeded slowly and discovered that it was very difficult to turn the steering wheel. i was able to pull into a parking lot; i called aaa for service. after the car was hoisted onto a flatbed truck i noticed that the engine cradle had disconnected from the frame at two points just about one-third of the way back from the front of the car and had dropped down about 6 inches. the two mounting bolts were pointing upward from the connecting points on the engine cradle. i had the car taken to the ford dealer where i had purchased it. they said there was $1200.00 in damages and that ford does not have a program in place offering no-cost repair of the failure. i contacted ford and they confirmed that. the car had been previously recalled for that particular safety defect and i had the repair done in july of 1999.*ak

While driving 35 mph trailing arm broke without warning. as a result, the entire frame of the vehicle collapsed onto the tires. *ak

My 1992 ford taurus just cuts off; the 1st time the check engine light came on and it quit. i had the car served and checked. i'd drive apprx. 60 miles and it would happen again, then i was going back to florida and it did it again, so i took it to orange ford in orange ,texas and they put it on the computer and said it was fine but the check engine light would still come on and the car would cut -off, this happened a good half a dozen times and i limped into blountstown, fl. where i had my mechanic keith lee put it on the computer, he couldn't find anything yet the car check engine light would come on and the car would just quit running. to make a long story short the map sensor, fuel filter,main brain,thermostat and temperture sensor have all been replaced and i made it back to texas. then on april 29th 2004 i was in traffic on hwy 290 traveling about 45 miles an hour and it just quit causing me and my passengers to lurch and i had to re-start my car. this happened again when i was just moving the car to a shady parking spot on the 29th of april. i'm 60 years old and i only have the one car for transportation so it's very important that my car be maintained and i have a chilton's book for my car and insist that anyone who works on my car follow the manuals instructions to a tee, like disconnecting the negative ground before working on my car after all the engineers who designed it know best. we are a ford family and own a bronco ii, and a ford f-350 w/ a cummin diesel engine and have had no problems with them, which the are a 1987 & 1986 respectively and still running which will tell you that they have had the proper care and maintenence.*ak

I have owned this taurus since, 1993-1994, it had 43,000 miles on it, from a dealer (flannery ford). i have had motor mounts replaced, water pumps (2) (almost $1,000), brakes and calipers(too many to remember), struts (too many to remember), ignition. this past saturday, while my mother was driving the car to the repair shop, because the inside door lights would not go off and the alarm bell (that dings when you leave the key in or lights on), the right rear wheel fell off the car. the entire tie rods had to be replaced, struts and springs (that was $1,000). i have had to have the oil pan replaced because it rusted out and had engine mounts replaced again during this procedure (that was almost $1,000). i can only remember receiving 1 recall notice and the car was taken in for repair. *ak

While driving his headlights came on and off on their own. consumer stated that this problem scared him, especially driving at night due to poor visibility. *ak

After the vehicle was serviced for recall 94e036000 for front shock absorber, vehicle experienced the same problem . consumer bought a used vehicle. dealer stated nothing they could do. computer showed the struts were replaced.*ak

I own a 92 ford taurus wagon left to me by my now-deceased father. he had a recall done 3-99 for the motor mount recall done. my father passed away 12-99. since that time i have had a continuing problem with this motor mount. it is now broken again. is there any way this problem can be rectified. thanks. *la

While driving about 65 mph on the highway applying the brake the pedal went all the way down to the floor. this caused the vehicle to stall and another vehicle hit the consumer from behind. the driver and passenger was transported by ambulance. there were no fatalities. please provide details. *ph

While a mechanic was inspecting the vehicle both rear mount are warp and corrode on the driver side. please fill in additional information dealer is aware of the problem.

Consumer states that the brake pedal and gas pedal are too close. consumer has accelerated instead of stopping. as a result, came close to having a collision. *ak

Toyo 800 ultra tire tread separation-toyo 800 ultra dot cx9l 49v428 800u p205/65r15 92t. tire tread separated at 65 mph, causing fender and body damage to automobile. parts of the tire hit driver side rear view mirror breaking mirror from mounts and hitting driver in the shoulder/face causing minor cuts and bruising.*ak

Ford taurus axod-e transmission failed in the middle of an intersection with whole family in the car. it took almost 2 hours to finally have the car safely moved out of harms way. *ak

I own a 92 ford taurus, and recently it caught on fire under the dash board...i have been doing research on defects for ford ignition switches...i have found many documents about class action law suits for other owners of ford vehicles from 1983-1995...i was not notified of this being a defect in my car and believe that ford is responsible for the fire in my dashboard...i would like to know what is still possible for recalls/defects and what can be done about this. *jb

Seat belt clip not working. ford company said they are not responsible for fixing it if your car is over 50,000 miles and i have over 120,000 miles on my car. ph

Car stalls without warning. i noticed the problem was published stating the ignition system was faulty.

Single thump sound when shifted the automatic transmission to reverse, then shift to go forward the engine suddenly raced causing the car to accelerate uncontrollably. due to idle air control located on top of the engine broke, causing engine to race at top speed, engine came loose from the mounts, flown up striking the underside of the hood and breaking the idle air control, subframe mount bolts were replaced.

The air bags inadvertently deployed, which caused injuries to the consumer and occupant. mr *jb

I own two taurus station wagons, this one and a 1990 model, both purchased used. both have had two problems in common. the parking brake warning light on both cars has failed intermittently. on the 1992 model, this led to a leaking rear wheel hydraulic brake cylinder due to overheating. on the 1990 model, i once drove 2 hours on an interstate highway with the parking brake on. this later caused the rear right spindle to bend, putting the tire severely out of alignment. the heat had essentially annealed and softened the spindle. no mechanic i have talked to had seen this before. the other problem is the seat belt buckles. both became unreliable and had to be replaced. similar model cars at the junkyard also had broken buckles. both at times appeared to be buckled, then later slid open. mr

Head gasket failed; i now find out this was a chronic problem with taurus cars from this year. manufacturer should have notifvied consumers back when it told dealers of this problem so owners could get preventive measures taken. *ak

Driving at 55 mph and r/rear tire separated and 13" of outer tread was ejected into rear bumper area. the force of the sparation almost tore bumper loose from car. tire did not blow out and i was able to stop the vehicle. i am retaining the complete set of 4 tires for your investagation if needed. these tires still have at least half the tread remaining. *ak

Airbag light was flashing. clock spring was replaced, airbag light continued flashing. airbag monitor also replaced. this was considered a double failure. please linvestigate if the first failure went undetected, or caused the second failure, or was a coincidence. your response would be appreciated.

After $1200 dollars in replacement of sensors, $1500 in rebuilding the engine because of defective temperature mechanisms, and putting on new part after part which the dealership and mechanics keep telling me will fix the problem, my car still stalls, looses power and goes into spasms from one gear to another. i would like to know what is wrong with this car, what investigation you are taking to solve the problem of consumers getting soaked.*ak

3.8 liter head gasket blew and caused major damgae to engine at only 72,000 miles ! car was not driven hard and all service/maintence was kept up. this is a very expensive repair and ford is not willing to help with the cost. i callled ford customer service and they said they could not help me with this issue and even went so far as to say they had not heard of this problem before and did not know it is a common occurrence among this engine. i am very disapointed in ford for this. ford should at least split the cost of the repair. *ak

Found out same problems from other consumers with in the same mileage on these vehicles also i just bought my daughter a 95 escort with some of the sme problems but lower miles. no safety defect listed. *ak

After starting from a stop engine started making noises at low speeds. i took the car to my mechanic and he told me the engine was no good, that bearings were gone . i needed a new or rebuilt engine and that this was common on the 3.8l engine. this engine only had 46,404 original miles on it. i contacted ford and they said there was nothing they would do. *ak

I am making this report a little over a year after the incident because ford motor company has not taken responsibility for what is occurring in the 1992 model as they have in some of the later models even though it involves the same engine. i have been follung the reports sent to the nhtsa over this time and have seen an increasing number of reports filed describing the same problem i have experienced in my 1992 taurus. i believe since the same problem is occurring in the 1994 sable and they have issued a recall in that instance, they also should recall the ford models since they involve the same engine.*ak

I purchased the car in 1995 from the dealer. it only had 17k miles on it and a 1 year unlimited warranty bumper to bumper except tires. The a/c - heater blower stops running for an indefinite time period. during this time period, the turn signals will not work. for no action on my part, the blower restarts. at the instant that the blower restarts, the air bag readiness light lights momentarily, the same as it does when the ignition is turned on. i strongly suspect that the air bag is not "ready" during the time that the blower is off, clearly a dangerous condition. during the time that the blower is off, i think that the backup power supply (a capacitor) discharges, and when the power is restored to the blower, the backup power supply capacitor recharges, causing the air bag readiness light to light momentarily. several times, the kam (continuous memory) has been code-scanned, with the result that no failure codes were revealed. the check engine warning light comes on only during engine start; not afterwards. *ak

The air bag control module first failed in october, 1998. was replaced by friendly ford in springfield, mo in january, 1999. since then, the module has failed about every three months to date. i have had to buy a new module every 12 months due to warranty running out on replacement monitors. had three ford dealers check out air bag system, none could fix it, except for replacing the module. they all claimed there was an intermittent short circuit "somewhere" that they could never find. now denny ford in rolla, mo wants to replace the entire wiring harness at a cost of $2,000+ just for the parts!!!!! this is gerting ridiculous. but i can't just ignore the problem, because when the module dies the air bags don't work.

The first transmission went in 1999 and was replaced for $2500. in dec 2000 the head gasket went and it destroyed my new tranny also so i needed to get them both fixed. it also destroyed my radiator which i also just replaced. in two years time i have put close to $6000 into this car. i contacted ford and they told me to write to you. i believe the head destroyed alot of my parts and that it should not have blown at 94000 miles. i also know other fords were known for this and ford covered it. i feel ford should reimburse me for a least half of the $6000 i spent in the past year. thank you. *ak

Transaxle will not engage after coming to a stop. l/f brake pad stays partially engaged resulting in premature wearing of said pad; luckily, i was coming to a slow stop when it gave out completely. this problem was not analyzed until my second front brake job within 25 0r so months. with wipers in use, activating the turn signal in either direction causes the wipers to stop.this tends to bring on a slight sense of panic during a heavy rain. lights go off without warning. this switch has been replaced twice at my expenseas have all other before mentioned problems except the wiper issue. i have been unemployed for 4 months and can't afford fixing this inconvenience. *ak

During hot weather bolts holding alloy wheel to axle shearing. first on july 5, 1999, and second on may 3, 2000. on the first occasion three bolts sheared on the left front wheel and one on the right front. on the second occasion two bolts sheared on the left front wheel. both instances occured during hot weather with temps in the low 90's.

I was informed by the ford dealeership the complete engine replacement was the direct result of the two head-gasket failures. i reasearched this problem on the internet/yahoo. i was surprised to learn this was a common problem for fords 90-96 3.8l engine. ford currently has a program for 94-96 3.8l engines and a secret warrenty for the 93 3.8 l engine. however it has no program for the same failures in the 1992 engine. *ak

My air conditioner went out (entire system) just after having it a year, i then proceeded to have to have the transmission replaced, along with many many other small parts, such as idler pully, water pump, etc, all before my extended warranty was up. just after my extended warranty was up at 80,000 miles i had to replace my radiator. my engine was babied, my husband changed the oil faithfully every 2500 miles, changed air filters, flushed the transmission, anything to maintain the vehicle, because by this time i was traveling far to work everyday, (35miles 1 way), so i have put a lot of highway miles on it, then without warning the headgasket blew, sending antifreeze into the engine. if i had known about the problems they were having, i would have had it taken care of, since i didn't i missed a lot of work and had to buy a new car, since the expense of repair wasnt worth it. this car has been a complete lemon, and i have the $6000 worth of warranty work as proof, plus the engine blowing. *ak

In march of 1997, the left front spring on my mother margarets car fractured/failed unexpectedly. as a result, that side of the car basically collapsed to the ground and could not be driven without doing significant damage to the tire and other suspension components. the car was then towed to the closest automotive repair shop, who determined that the front spring had indeed failed/fractured. the cost of the repair was $426.70 in july of 1998, i (daniel zehler - son of margaret) received a recall letter from ford having to do with a similar/identical defect on 1993 taurus and sable vehicles. it turns out that i own a 1993 taurus. per the recall letter, the safety defect is as follows: "the front coil springs on your vehicle can fracture if the vehicle is operated in high-corrosion areas of north america for an extended period of time. depending on the location of the fracture on the spring there is some possibility that the tire can be damaged. a fractured spring can cause one side of your vehicle to be lower than the other, can result in clunking or rattling noise or can cause the vehicle to ride roughly." in the what will ford do category, the letter states that ford is providing additional warranty coverage for front spring replacement, regardless of mileage, through december 31, 2001. in the what should we do category, the letter states that "if either of the vehicle's front springs should fracture during the extended warranty period, contact your dealer. at no cost to you/us, the dealer will replace both front coil springs." in the meantime, so as to prevent tire damage should the spring fracture, ford has developed a special plastic protective shield, which has been installed on our 1993 taurus. as the 1992 & 1993 taurus models are virtually identical, it is my opinion that the recall on the 1993 taurus's should also apply to the 1992's as our defect seems to be identical to that which ford has already agreedefect onthe car was then towed to the.

Midas muffler and brake company has taken care of my brakes for years. the taurus seems to eat brakes. the emergency brake, once set, does not release when you pull the lever. last month i parked on a hill and set the emergency brake, hoping that it would truly release when i pulled the lever. it did not. after a mile or so of driving, i saw smoke and smelled burning plastic. my left rear wheel cover melted from the friction of the un-released emergency brake. midas disabled the emergency brake for me when i got back to my neighborhood. i am now driving without an emergency brake. the emergency brake sticks quite consistently and i always end up going to midas to get it released. this past august was the worst episode.

Windshield wipers do not park and sometimes don't work

The wipers completely fail in heavy rain, but when they do work, they swipe once or twice and then stop in the middle of the windshield. have contacted the ford website with this problem but did not receive any response. repairs to this faulty system are too costly for me to undertake, as the entire steering wheel must be pulled out to correct problem, a problem that ford refuses to acknowledge responsibility for. please help. i would hate to think that one of my three children would be hurt as a result of this device malfunctioning while i was driving with them in the car and it happens to rain, snow, etc...

I did highway driving for 3 hours. i went to exit, slowed down, the car's engine jumped as i drove down the exit ramp. at the end of the ramp, the car continued to sputter and finally the transmission gave. the car acted like it was in neutral. *ak

After approx. one hour of operation the headlight circuit breaker begins to trip causing the headlights to go out. the headlight switch is very hot to the touch. no previous problems experinced with the lighting system. the failure occured at highway speed. further tests by owner showed that the problem exists with the vehicle at a standstill. the failure appears to be time related. headlights work normal during the first forty to fity minuites. switching to high beams will shorten the failure time.

Premature failures of the ford taurus axod transmission appears to be a serious problem with cars manufactured in 1992 or before. the transmission clearly has a reliability problem that forces many owners, including myself, to replace the transmission when the car has only 50-60 thousand miles on it. i belive nhtsa should investigate this matter not only as a safety problem, but also to force ford to extend the warranty and cover at least the partial cost of the repair.

Roof rack manufactured by mondial mounting clips rusted and detached from the roof.

The planetary gears in transmission have failed. ford has manufactured a new gear to replace old one.

Engine gaskets failed causing engine to run hot and heavy white smoke came from the rear of vehicle. this premature failure should not have happened; vehicle has been properly maintained since purchased new.

While driving all the components mentioned above went dead, no air conditioner, power windows and lock and radio car could not be open and windows could not be rolled air conditioned failed completely and gauges (fuel and heat went off, car was still running.

Transmission failure.

Transmission malfunctioned. driver experiences a very difficult time putting vehicle in reverse. in addition, body mounts of the rear sub-frame detached due to corrosion prior to recall (93v-106).
