Thank you for contacting the Center for Auto Safety (CAS)
about problems with your General Motors N-car (Buick Skylark, Somerset;
Chevrolet Malibu; Oldsmobile Calais, Achieva, Alero, Cutlass; Pontiac
Grand Am). First introduced in 1985 as the Pontiac Grand AM, Oldsmobile
Calais and Buick Somerset Regal, N-cars have undergone a bewildering array
of changes over the years. In 1986 the Somerset Regal became the Somerset
and was joined by the Skylark.

Thank you for contacting the Center
for Auto Safety (CAS) about your Cavalier, Sunfire, Skyhawk, Firenza,
2000, Sunbird, or Cimarron (GM's J-Car). CAS has received numerous complaints
on sudden acceleration, peeling paint, excessive oil and/or coolant consumption,
poor engine performance, power steering loss, and transmission failure.

Thank you for contacting the Center for Auto Safety (CAS) about your
Buick Century or Regal, Chevrolet Lumina or Monte Carlo, Oldsmobile Cutlass
Supreme or Intrigue, Pontiac Grand Prix (GM's W-Car). CAS has received
numerous complaints on power steering shudder, stalling,
water leaks, excessive brake wear, peeling
paint, and seatbelt failure.

Thank your for contacting the Center for Auto Safety (CAS) about problems
with your General Motors "C" car (Buick Electra, Buick Park Avenue/Park
Avenue Ultra, Oldsmobile 98). After 1990, the Electra was dropped and
the Park Avenue, Park Avenue Ultra and 98 were completely redesigned for
1991.
